Closed starter: Isolde Stuart and Javier Wagner (@dxncingxnmyown)
Tumblr media
The note had come early in the day, scrawled in Javier's own handwriting. Though it was an invitation, there was no joy to be held in its words. Isolde knew, though the message did not plainly display it, what this invitation held. The faint wobble of the letters and the hesitation between each word pointed to one fact: Javier was getting married and he was going to tell Isolde that night. Isolde stared at the note in her hand; inside her head, she screamed, she raged, she cried until her face was raw from her tears, but still, she sat on her bed, her eyes unblinking.
The day seemed to pass slowly; every moment seemed to take hours. She could not seem to move, there was no will to propel her forward. Instead, she neither ate nor drank, just sat and stared, a living statue carved from marble. Her stillness broke only when the cough compelled, when it ripped through her body and bent her over, a reed in the wind. She had noticed the cough getting worse (she told herself that the red that splashed on her handkerchief was only a result of the soreness of her throat), but she had never felt anything like the way it ripped through her that day, bringing forth the tears she'd held back and, with it, the heat.
She was made of lead. As she rose from her bed, beckoned by the moonlight and her love, there was no part of her body that did not scream out in protest. She told herself that she was just a coward, that she was afraid of what Javier would tell her, but that a queen never shrank from the truth. Still, she wrapped herself in a shawl, guarding against the cold that had seeped into her bones (this despite the fact that she was sweating and her cheeks held the shade of fresh-cut strawberry). Step. Step. Step. Step. She counted her steps, one by one, willing herself forward. Step. Step. Step. The fit overtook her when she was two turns away, the cough burning up her chest, cracking her, and contorting her slender frame. She staggered to the wall, using it to bolster her as she hacked, wheezed, and gasped. She hung on it for a moment after the coughing passed and looked blearily forward. She was so very close and he was expecting her. Step. Step. She held onto the wall as she continued on, but her legs seemed to slide from under her. She was so cold, so tired. Step. A window interrupted the flow of the wall and Isolde lost balance, tumbling to the floor. Lead-weighted limbs were too heavy to move. One more corner. I'm only one corner away. Isolde's mind screamed, even as her vision darkened, creeping from the corners of her eyes inward. Javi. And all was blackness.

@swordsandcrownsxx ( joanna & isolde )
"I can't believe they let her in here," Joanna's eyes were locked in on her eldest sister's, not giving the eldest of the Schellenberg's the satisfaction of knowing she was talking about her. But who better to vindicate her of these frustrated feelings than the kindest oldest sister to ever walk the earth? At least in Jo's eyes, that was true. "This is charity event and they let someone who just got out of prison for financial fraud in? How ironic... and so close to my wedding? It's like they only did it for the drama so people will tune in." Her eyes finally gave in and took a quick turn about the room until she'd found yet another eye sore in the sea of people. Oh god not Javier, she thought as her hand reached to her sister's shoulder, "I think we both might need a drink..."

Raging Sun, Raging Sky (Julián Hernández, 2009) Cast: Jorge Becerra, Javier Oliván, Guillermo Villegas, Giovanna Zacharías, Joaquin Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Torres, Fabian Storniolo, Harold Torres, Clarissa Rendón, Baltimore Beltran, Rubén Santiago, Rubén Ángel. Screenplay: Julián Hernández. Cinematography: Alejandro Cantú. Production design: Carolina Jiménez, Jesús Torres Torres. Film editing: Emiliano Arenales Osorio. Music: Arturo Villela. Desire is not enough. That seems to be the motivating force behind Julián Hernández's extraordinary, sometimes exhilarating, often exasperating Raging Sun, Raging Sky. In the world of the film, gay men have achieved liberation of desire, but its currents flow through the old channels: cruising, hustling, casual pickups, phone sex, and encounters in porno theaters and public restrooms. It's a world that lacks a central love myth, a story of commitment, sacrifice, and redemption analogous to the legends of Héloïse and Abelard, Antony and Cleopatra, Tristan and Isolde. And so Hernández sets out to provide one in the story of Ryo (Guillermo Villegas), Kieri (Jorge Becerra), and Tari (Javier Oliván)-- a triad rather than a duo, reflective perhaps of the more open relationships common in the gay world. But he chooses to tell their story in a tantalizing fashion, beginning his film with a woman (Giovanna Zacarías) who wanders through Mexico City, seemingly in search of something and distressed when she fails to find it. She seems to have, like the angels of Wim Wenders's Wings of Desire (1987), the ability to overhear the thoughts of people she passes on the street and in a streetcar. Once she senses something from a young man on a motorbike, but he speeds away before she can talk to him. Finally, as it grows dark, she stops and leans on the parapet of a bridge, and a young man approaches her. It begins to rain, and he lends her his coat as they run back to his apartment where they make love. While he sleeps, she whispers to him, calling him Ryo, telling him that he will find someone to love, then dresses and goes to the window where she fades from sight. We will learn that she is Tatei, perhaps el corazón del cielo, the Mayan Heart of the Sky. But we won't learn that for two hours more, until after we meet the present-day protagonists, not only Ryo but also Kieri and Tari, the former a worker in a call center, the latter a boxer, both of whom lust after Ryo. When Ryo chooses to sleep with Kieri, Tari is enraged. And then the film begins to shift into fantasy, as the sleeping men begin to be covered with dust and a menacing Tari appears, his face painted. And finally the title credits appear, two hours into the film, as the story shifts into a mythic past in which Kieri, guided by Tatei, must conquer Tari and rescue Ryo. The section opens with a striking image of a dry riverbed from which Kieri literally rises, caked in dry mud, to begin his quest. Yes, it's more than three hours long, and probably shouldn't be. And yes, Hernández's vision is often derivative -- his work has been likened to that of any number of filmmakers, from Cocteau to Antonioni to Tarkovsky. But it's a film of powerful imagination and striking beauty, with a story told mostly through images -- there is scarcely any dialogue -- and the commitment of its young actors.  Is it the love myth that gay men need? Probably not, but it's an honorable attempt at one.

ARCANA OBSCURA (on Wattpad) https://my.w.tt/gOGvISLf4T After refusing a dark offer from a mysterious veiled woman, Javier is linked to a series of gruesome murders and becomes a main suspect in the police investigation. ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵ ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
After been contacted by a mysterious organization Javier, a young fortune teller, becomes one of the main suspects on a murder case that has the Portuguese authorities in the European spotlight. The case lead detectives, Bosso and Isolde, did their best keeping the commotion and gruesome details from the press but after almost a year following dead ends a new wave of murders has started. This time, the corpses have been found with a QRcode that redirects the authorities to a paged named "TCI". Yet every time they try to log into the site the page crashes and the IP changes. Javier knows a way around this and the answers to the riddles and puzzles that come afterwards but, can he help Bosso and Isolde while proving he is innocent? Or will the Hermit dig a deeper grave as The Wheel of Fate spins?

Closed starter: Isolde Stuart and Javier Wagner (@dxncingxnmyown)
Fury is not an emotion common in the eldest Scottish princess- Joanna usually held enough fury for all three of them- but whatever Isolde feels, she feels intensely. Usually, she is their beacon of mercy, love, and restraint, but not on this day or in this moment. It is, instead, Joanna who cautions Isolde to be kind, to not blame her lover. It is a shift that could only be brought about by the most dire of straits. However, as her sister does not always listen to her ideas, Isolde finds her anger far from abating as she strides to her love's door, not waiting for anyone to allow her in, and marches in. "Please give us a moment," Isolde says, her voice shaking as she addresses Javier's guards, her eyes flashing.
She cannot see herself, but, at least for a moment, she does not look ill. Anger lends color to her cheeks and strength to her posture so that she stands, beautiful and wild, in front of Javier, every bit the princess she was born to be. "You told her..." she says. She does not ask or give him time to dance around or weave poetry with his words. He is too adept at quelling her storm with sweetness, either of his words or touch. "You knew...you knew I did not want her to know and you told her anyway."

while she had been skeptical, izzy actually believes the man wants to make a donation despite his temporary physical impairment. and she thinks that maybe, just maybe, she can handle anything he throws her way. until he opens his pants and exposes himself to her. jesus. before this moment, she was sure that cocks like his only existed in the fairytale land that was porn, and she gulps visibly at the menacing sight. he keeps talking yet she finds it hard to pay attention, her gaze going from his face to inappropriately staring at him. small bits of what he says does puncture her haze: wetter; tighter; dad. that one catches her off guard like a bucket of ice water being thrown on her and she blinks rapidly as she tries to comprehend that request. "you want me to, um, call you — dad?" what she had previously thought was her imagination turned out to be reality as she saw him twitch and she audibly whimpers. part of her wants to pawn him off on another nurse, but her mother also didn't raise a quitter. the sooner you get this over with, the better, she tells herself. she grabs one of the condoms that he had brought with him, and she tears the package open with her teeth. spitting out the foil, she takes the condom out and moves to kneel before him. "okay, dad." twitch. at this point she's more fascinated than intimidated, and hides her smirk at the effect the word seems to have on him. "i'm pretty sure i can get fired if i help you this way so this stays between us, okay? if you need something warm and wet ... you can use my mouth. with the condom on." she holds up the rubber for emphasis. "we get you off, get the sample, and then none of this is ever spoken of again. deal?" she gently pushes his hand off to replace it with her own as she works him up to full hardness. a couple moments of awkward silence pass between them before she speaks up again. "how'd you hurt your wrist?"
Tumblr media
I can help you however you wish. Javier attempts to hide the smile that spreads on his face but the tiniest of grins tugs onto his features. "The ejaculation kits don't always work with me but you're more than welcome to give it the old college try." It's dangerous to be given a blank slate like this, an infinite number of scenarios running through his head as he ponder exactly how much he can get away with. "Apologies for the improper medical terminology but the uh...fleshlight works 50% of the time." Javi figures using the word fleshlight is somehow still somewhat better than saying pocket pussy. "I just find they don't feel good enough to get me where I need to be. I prefer something much warmer and wetter." As he speaks to the petite brunette, the older male begins to undo his pants and belt (as best he could while trying to keep up with the façade of having an impaired wrist). Javier, as casually as one could, pulls free his impressive length, allowing it simply hang limp between thighs. Even now, half not even halfway close to being hard, it's still a menacing sight. It's one thing to have long cock but Javier prides himself on the sheer thickness of his manhood. "The condom route works best but it's also dependent on what's coming back the other way too. We could start with your mouth and the possibly try something...tighter, if that doesn't work." His eyes have gotten a shade darker, like a predator eyeing up it's prey. Javi's gaze taking a long, savoring scan up and down her tiny frame. He's not even sure he'd fit in such a small little package but wasn't that part of the fun? "Though I will say, you your regular sized protection might not be exactly comfortable on me but I do come prepared." Javier reaches into his pocket quickly and lays down strip of golden wrapped condoms. What he fails to mention is the way he'd tampered with them and they might as well have been a tickling timebomb. "There's not exactly beating around the bush but for the sake of trying to um...extract...the cum...err...sample, I'd really get off on you calling me Dad. " The own utterance of the word causes of a noticeable twitch of his meaty length. With his off hand, he's takes hold of his fat cock and begins to stroke himself, long expert strokes as if on autopilot while staring down the nurse. "Sir or Daddy works too but if you were looking to make this as quick and painless as possible then..." Okay so maybe painless was a bit of a lie but it was possible she was an overachiever.

The Met Opera’s New Season: What We Want to See
The Yannick Nézet-Séguin era at the Metropolitan Opera will begin in earnest next fall, when he assumes his full workload as the company’s music director — conducting six productions, half of them new.
The Met announced on Thursday that Mr. Nézet-Séguin will open the season on Sept. 21 with the company’s first new production of Verdi’s “Aida” in more than three decades, starring Anna Netrebko. He will conduct two new stagings by the director Ivo van Hove: Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and, in its Met premiere, Jake Heggie’s “Dead Man Walking.” And he will lead revivals of Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” Gounod’s “Roméo et Juliette” and Strauss’s “Die Frau Ohne Schatten.”
Mr. Nézet-Séguin had initially planned to start as music director next season, but agreed to take on the title two years early, in a limited capacity, to help the company recover from allegations of sexual misconduct against his predecessor, James Levine. Now he will be a more regular presence.
“What’s great is he is approaching the Met repertoire like a big meal,” Peter Gelb, the company’s general manager, said in an interview. “He’s doing everything.”
The company also plans to mount its first production by Barrie Kosky, one of the most widely admired directors in opera: the Met premiere of Prokofiev’s “The Fiery Angel.” On New Year’s Eve it will present an inventive new production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte,” directed by Simon McBurney and conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. (But the Met plans to keep the abridged, English-language version of the retiring Julie Taymor staging as a holiday presentation for families in future seasons.)
Ms. Netrebko unveils Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco”; Angela Meade and Jamie Barton, a potent pairing at the Met in “Norma,” join for Donizetti’s “Roberto Devereux”; Anita Rachvelishvili reprises her galvanic Azucena in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”; and the tenor Javier Camarena stars in Bellini’s “Il Pirata.” Richard Jones’s wicked staging of Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” returns, in English, as the family holiday presentation.
The Met will go dark in February, when its sales have typically been slowest, and extend its season until June 5, taking some weeks formerly used by American Ballet Theater. There will be more of the Sunday matinees the company began this season: 22, up from the current 16, all of which will be followed by post-performance talks.
It’s a big season, with 23 operas on offer. Here are the highlights, chosen by writers of The New York Times.
‘Aida’
I confess I’ll miss the Met’s solidly gargantuan old “Aida” production. And the director Michael Mayer’s track record with Verdi — half-baked, Vegas-theme “Rigoletto,” turgidly traditional “La Traviata” — doesn’t fill me with hope for his new staging’s visual glamour or interpretive acuity. But it will offer Mr. Nézet-Séguin and Ms. Netrebko’s first full production together, and an opening night cast — also including Ms. Rachvelishvili, Piotr Beczala and Ludovic Tézier — that probably can’t be bettered in the world today. ZACHARY WOOLFE
‘Tristan und Isolde’
Christine Goerke, a celebrated Brünnhilde last season in the “Ring,” is scaling a new Wagnerian summit: Isolde. She will sing it opposite Stuart Skelton’s Tristan in Mariusz Trelinski’s bleak but powerful production, opening Oct. 17, with a cast that also includes the frequent scene-stealer Günther Groissböck as King Marke. It will be the Met debut of the German conductor Hartmut Haenchen, 76, who has been praised for his Wagner performances at the Bayreuth Festival and at Dutch National Opera, where he was music director. MICHAEL COOPER
‘The Fiery Angel’
The Met has waited a criminally long time to hire Mr. Kosky, one of the busiest directors in Europe. But he won’t be making his debut quietly. His bawdy take on “The Fiery Angel” — a Prokofiev rarity that opens Nov. 12 — includes leather harnesses, profanely dressed nuns and a devil with a dildo. This production might not have shocked the jaded audience in Munich, where it originated. But Met regulars, get ready: Zeffirelli’s “Bohème” this ain’t. JOSHUA BARONE
‘Fidelio’
Lise Davidsen’s Met debut this season, in Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades,” more than lived up to the hype, and made me eager for her return as Leonore in Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” beginning Nov. 30. The Met does not always observe anniversaries, but this revival, mounted the year of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, features Mr. Nézet-Séguin conducting a strong cast that also includes Golda Schultz, Brandon Jovanovich, Tomasz Konieczny and Christian Van Horn. MICHAEL COOPER
‘Don Giovanni’
The Tony Award-winning Mr. van Hove is making his Met debut on March 1 with this “Don Giovanni,” which I saw at the Paris Opera last year. It bears his trademark aesthetic of brutal austerity and sexy desperation, with a besuited antihero straight out of “American Psycho.” Don’t expect a revelatory read of Mozart’s opera, but do look forward to an improvement on the Met’s defanged current production. JOSHUA BARONE
‘Giulio Cesare’
Harry Bicket has become something of a house Handel conductor at the Met — and especially after his vibrant “Agrippina” this season, I’m not complaining. Starting March 2, he leads two singers from that production, Kate Lindsey and Iestyn Davies, in a revival of David McVicar’s effective, Bollywood-tinged “Cesare,” alongside Kristina Mkhitaryan, Karen Cargill and Anthony Roth Costanzo. ZACHARY WOOLFE
‘Lulu’
Now that William Kentridge’s staging of Berg’s “Wozzeck has come to the Met, it will be interesting to revisit his version of “Lulu,” in a revival that stars Brenda Rae in the title role and opens March 5. While Mr. Kentridge’s projected images move quickly across the stage, the resulting effect is more than mere flash; his filmmaking chops bring to life aspects of this opera that other stagings breeze past. SETH COLTER WALLS
‘Rusalka’
Its lush score easily falling into heaviness, Dvorak’s opera needs a sure hand at the podium. It’s a challenging yet apt assignment for the Met debut of Jakub Hrusa, a rising Czech maestro who’s already a regular with American orchestras, if not yet with American opera houses. The title role should be an intriguing fit for the magnetic soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who’s joined by Mr. Beczala, superb as the Prince, on March 16. ZACHARY WOOLFE
‘Die Frau Ohne Schatten’
For all its baffling elements, Strauss’s “Die Frau Ohne Schatten,” a fairy tale rife with symbolism, may be his masterpiece. Herbert Wernicke’s visually dazzling and profoundly humane 2001 production is returning on April 16 with an exciting cast: Klaus Florian Vogt and Elza van den Heever as the Emperor and Empress, and Michael Volle and Nina Stemme as the humble Dyer and his bitter wife. Mr. Nézet-Séguin conducts, and I hope he opts for leading a complete version of a long score often trimmed in performance. ANTHONY TOMMASINI
‘Billy Budd’
The return of John Dexter’s 1978 production of Britten’s “Billy Budd,” on May 21, may not seem so newsworthy. But it offers an arresting dramatic spectacle, with a stage-filling set showing a late 18th-century British warship. And the cast for this intense, achingly tragic tale looks enticing, including the appealing baritone Joshua Hopkins as the innocent Billy and the ardent tenor Matthew Polenzani as the guilt-ridden Captain Vere. And finally, after 23 years, the excellent conductor Simone Young will be back at the Met. ANTHONY TOMMASINI

Strong was born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London to an Italian father and an Austrian mother, and attended Wymondham College in Norfolk. His English name is not a phase name, it was changed by deed poll by his mother when he was a boy to help him fit in with his peers. At school he was the singer in punk rock bands called The Electric Hoax and Private Party. His original ambition was to become a lawyer, but after studying for a year at University in Munich, Germany he decided to change his direction in life and returned home to London. There he enrolled in a joint English and Drama degree at Royal Holloway, and later attended Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Strong is a familiar face on British television and has appeared in such drama series as two Prime Suspect serials for ITV: as Inspector (later Detective Chief Superintendent) Larry Hall in Prime Suspect 3 (1993) and Prime Suspect 6 (2003). He way too had starring roles in two BBC Two drama serials, Our Friends in the North (1996) and The Long Firm (200four) for which he earned a BAFTA nomination, and also played the villainous Colonel Brand in Sharpe’s Mission (1996). He played the romantic lead, Mr. Knightley, in the ITV adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma, with Kate Beckinsalein the title role.
In film, one of Strong’s most prominent roles was as Steve in the 1997 adaptation of Nick Hornby’s Fever Pitch, co-starring opposite Colin Firth and Strong also features in Roman Polanski’s 2005 version of Oliver Twist. He played Mussawi in the film Syriana, and in 2005 appeared in Revolver, where he played Sorter, a nerveless, steely assassin “who don’t misses”. In 2006, Strong portrayed the traitorous Wictred in Tristan & Isolde, showing his talent with swordplay. The following year he played Pinbacker in the science-fiction film Sunshine. He had to spend six hours a working day in makeup to get Pinbacker’s scars. Coincidentally, Strong also appeared in a 1999 film also titled Sunshine.
He got down to the last two considered for the part of Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem’s role) in No Country for Old Men, but despite the persistence of rumours he was never offered the part. In Body of Lies, he played Hani Salaam, head of Jordanian Intelligence. In most of Strong’s films he’s virtually unrecognizable considering that he changes his appear for every character; in Stardust and Tristan + Isolde, he has prolonged hair, in RocknRolla and The Long Firm he sports a receding hairline, whilst in Body of Lies and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day he has a complete head of hair). His characters in Low Winter Sun, Heartlands and Fever Pitch however most resemble his true self.
In his theatre career, Strong was nominated in 2003 for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role for his role in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at the Donmar Warehouse in 2002. He is due to film a lead part in the Channel 4 film Endgame (2008).
Since 2006, Strong has provided the narration in the BBC genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?.

"That it will heal is not my problem with it...that someone struck you, that is what upsets me." His tone drifts from its usual playfulness into a husky growl. Damn Scots. Troublesome the lot of them. First Isolde had almost ruined Javier's prospects and now Joanna had hit his...not mine, never mine...had hit Barbara. This was not to mention King Graeme himself who was just a giant pain in the arse on a political scale. If there were ever a country he wished would get annexed, it was that one. But his hatred of Scotland is a passing thought as she put his hand on her neck, touching a small scar there. He wished he could lean down and kiss both her cut and her scar, but if he kissed her neck, he knew well enough to know he would not stop kissing her as far down as she would allow. "She is your sister, she is supposed to see you vulnerable. Everyone needs someone to be vulnerable with." As if he was ever vulnerable with anyone.
Tumblr media
"Even a broken clock is right twice a day...I sometimes even get more than that," he chuckled softly, though his chuckle disappeared at her request. He swallowed, his tongue suddenly feeling thick in his mouth. When had he gotten nervous about something as simple as a kiss? "Honestly, I want you to...I doubt it is wise...but it is very desired," he murmured, leaning to whisper in her ear and allowing his lips to skim ever so slightly along her jawline as he moved back to face her.
Tumblr media
𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐃𝐍'𝐓 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 noticed the cut on her cheek, she didn't exactly look at herself in the mirror lately, she was hiding in shame. She was having time to collect herself, before being able to be out again. She tilted her head to look at him. ❛ Wounds heal, in just a few days and it will vanish. ❜ Barbara tried to be more… Positive, trying to not let anyone worry. She picked up his hand and guided it to her neck, on the left side, putting it on top of her discreet tiny scar, which was not often seen, because she always used a necklace, or sometimes the position of her hair hid it. ❛ That's my horse' scar. That's why I'm not exactly fond of them, despite them being rather useful animals.❜ The accident happened when she was a child. Her tears were ceasing to fall, her tone was raspy from crying. She took his hand off the scar from her neck where she guided it and kissed the palm of his hand, in a soft kiss. ❛ It's ok, and not your fault. It's mine, I'll deal with the consequences. What is more important, it's over. ❜ She tried to assure him that things were okay, but when it wasn't but not want to talk about this topic. The slightly changed topic was more welcomed. ❛ Yes, she is no longer angry at me. I told her when I felt better that I would visit her. I don't like when she sees me this way. She probably is busy ruling for my luck. ❜ Barbara didn't like Gizella seeing her in a vulnerable state, although she saw her like this at the party when she was heading to her quarters.
Being abandoned by the maternal figure made her get lost, she just missed her and can't accept the reality. She feels betrayed at this point she really doesn't care if people hate her, leave her, or use her. She feels numb. And yet again, Xavier was the only one she told what was really troubling her mind. ❛ Funny, you say that. She used to say that to me. ❜ She refers to her maternal figure and now looks at him.
Deep down, Barbara knew she shouldn't do it, she didn't want to think of her problems right now. She wanted to focus on him, and she rested her forehead against him, her hot breath hitting on his face, closing her eyes. ❛ I want to kiss so badly right now, may I? Please? ❜ Her eyes were closed her lips almost hovering his at the request, her heart skipped to a beat. ❛ I promise I won't run. ❜

Again Isolde found herself almost slipping, so unnatural it was for her to keep something so large from her father when he was asking her directly. Her hand went to her pocket for a moment, touching the stained handkerchief she kept inside, the proof of her secret. "I...It is worrisome that it has not ceased. Most coughs go away after weeks, but this lingers in ways that put me into unease. In the time I have spent with healing Da, I've never liked hearing a cough go on for so long." She'd never seen it end differently, and she'd seen it end several times. "But if you tell me not to worry, then I shall try to put it out of my mind." She gave him a weak smile, one that could not reach her eyes, but that she hoped pacified him for the time being. She would just have to be creative about how she shirked his doctors. "I would take the Spanish alliance Da...if it helped Scotland, but I know how thorny that is. Would it help if I spoke with the King?" she asked, hopeful that she could do something to help, even with what little time she had left. "Otherwise, I have not spoken to anyone of note who would make an alliance to benefit us." A French cousin would hardly bring an alliance he'd welcome, especially when Javier was already engaged.

“ What are you saying then? Do you suggest this cough will not cease? Are you afraid of it getting worse? “ He didn’t know it had already progressed… his mind could not even accept that as a possibility, no, it couldn’t even conjure it up. “ Isolde, please, do not worry yourself over hypotheticals. Leave that to me. “ Relief flooded him now- if she feared only poor health, that could be attended to by doctors. It was a fool’s belief, and Graeme was no fool, but as his own vision deteriorated faster than could be controlled, he pretended he could control the fate of his eldest daughter. A cough would not strip her from him, nor Scotland their Queen. A sigh escaped, and for now, he was put to rest, though suspicion and concerned clouded his eyes yet. “ Oh… yes, well… I had been in talks with King Reginald, but I- I do not yet know if- well, of course whoever it is, you’d have to stay in Scotland… it narrows down the options. Is there really no one, no one at all, you have a mind for me to consider? “
