POLICY UPDATE (04/27/24)

Hello everyone!

It's that time again! Time for a P O L I C Y U P D A T E or "MFRP PATCH NOTES" if you'd prefer! We have a few things to touch on this time including some policy changes, reminders, and even a new tag!

CHANGES

Starting on a positive note: we've recently made some changes to our Discord server to reduce the clutter and take advantage of the recently added forum channels. If you haven't dropped in yet now might be a good time! You can find a link to it here!

Going forward there will no longer be a rank requirement for a character to have internet access! This was a carryover system from the previous group but we have decided this stipulation is pretty unnecessary so every character will have proper internet access upon acceptance.

We've moved links to past policy updates onto their own page instead of listing all of them on the "important links" page. Only the most recent policy update will be featured alongside a link to this page on important links going forward!

REMINDERS

At the end of last month we made a post about communicating within the group. If you haven't read it yet please make sure you do! You can find it here!

If you are writing a muse that is under 18 years of age please do not engage with any dash commentary or replies on these characters that are adult in nature! While we understand that all of our members are adults we still expect that characters that are canonically minors to steer clear from these subjects because engaging in them may make others uncomfortable. Minor characters are explicitly forbidden from engaging with any form of sexual or suggestive content in any form, whether it be as simple as commenting on it.

For those that wish to reserve newly released gacha characters we'd like to reiterate the policy we've had for some time now. These characters cannot be reserved or applied until a full week has passed since their release! So if they were released at any time between 12:00am and 11:59:59pm EST on the 1st of the month they cannot be reserved or applied until 12:00am EST on the 9th! We do this so that there is a one time fits all policy, as different games release characters at different times. There was an inconsistency with this on the rules page but we've gone and corrected it!

When ranking up your character to Subgiant or Giant we request a certain number of interactions with "individuals". We'd like to clarify that these individuals refer to different characters and not different muns. However when submitting your rank up requests please keep in mind that we won't be accepting using more than three characters from the same mun going forward.

NEW

Going forward you must have your character's canon age listed either on the application itself or your stats page to be accepted. We understand that in many cases canon ages aren't given for characters but we ask that you make your best guess. If we feel that you may be over or underrepresenting their age we may ask you to change it! In the case of immortal or unaging characters please list their physical age (ie how old they look) along with their chronological age.

We also ask that all existing members make sure to include their character's ages on their blogs somewhere to coincide with the change above! There's no rush to do this immediately but we may start reaching out if we notice accounts without it in a few months!

To keep things a little more organized we'd like to add a new tag! Going forward if you'd like to post a permanent plotter call, or if you'd like to search for one to like, please use the "#isola perm call" tag! We hope this makes it easier to find these posts so that they're easier to utilize!

anyway this blog is affiliated now but i will still write with indie blogs because i love all my indie friends so so so much.

seofon's relationship status is always complicated so we will see where that goes. the issue is he cares very much for danchou and is working through a lot, but he's always up for dates and flirting and whatnot and we will see where that goes. ultimately, ooc communication is key and if something changes here, i'll let you guys know!

for my isola besties, the basic rundown of seofon is that he is OP sword guy, he has an evil alter ego thanks to the wedge of time playing "fuck around and find out" with the timeline, he can solo the other 6 pillars of reality, but also he is a tailor and pastry chef and struggles to get dates even though he is cute and has an accent ⎛ he is spanish, while his localized name is seofon, his og name is siete which is spanish for seven ⎠ he is also a sword collector but in the same way as shirou emiya ⎛ he shares a seiyuu with EMIYA archer and cygames knows this and has gone with it ⎠

he's learning to adjust to spirale city and he does like archimedes ward, but man his arrival was An Experience.

Mending; caster can repair a single tear or break that is up to 1 foot large. This does not restore any magical properties and the item appears as though no tear or break had occurred. Volo’s false arcane eye; caster can create a disembodied eyeball identical to the caster’s eyeball ( caster must have at least one working eyeball for this spell to work ). It can float or rest wherever it is placed and is not solid, while blinking occasionally, though it cannot be controlled or linked to anything or anyone. Typically used to distract targets but makes for a neat party trick. Lasts for up to 10 minutes. Wooden dagger. Ring of Rejuvination; currently unable to cast anything.

Hey everybody! To help with some balancing issues, I’ve clarified on what your muse can purchase from the store based on their rank in Isola. The currency used here is dust; not to be confused with stars.

Please use reasonable judgement when having your muse order an expensive item. A newcomer may not have the means to buy a gown spun from gold, for example.

To order or repair your outfit, please send us a message in-character

If your muse is employed in Crime Prevention job or a Crime Syndicate position, you may have one bullet-resistant vest for any rank above newcomer. Just say where you work in your ask.

IMPORTANT: [Weapon] Resistant clothes are not automatic saves. A stab resistant vest will work on most mundane weapons, but not any magical weapons. For example, there’s a difference between being pierced with a normal knife and being pierced by someone with supernatural strength holding a spear. Please use your best judgement in RP scenarios.

All Ranks can order:

Clothes/accessories with properties that do not affect their defense - ex: A sand-proof towel, a waterproof swimsuit, a bloodproof suit, an umbrella that changes color in the rain, etc. - Flavor text, if you will.

Fire/Ice/Electric-resistant clothes - You will have to give a reason/argument for doing so

Newcomers can order:

Scuff/scratch resistant clothes - When you fall trying to execute that sick skateboard trick, you won’t scratch up your knee. - Might save you from the wicked embrace of cacti, if the needles aren’t longer than your pinky nail.

Dwarfs can order:

One stab-resistant article of clothing per month - After one use, it will no longer be usable. - You can bring it in for a repair once a month, not counting the month in which you’ve bought it. - Will save your life, but will not protect you from broken bones or bruising - Scuff resistance built in!

Subgiants can order:

One bullet-resistant article of clothing per month - After one use, it will no longer be usable. - You can bring it in for a repair once a month, not counting the month in which you’ve bought it. - Will save your life, but will not protect you from broken bones or bruising - Scuff resistance built in!

You may order one of these OR a stab-resistant article of clothing.

Giants can order:

A full stab-resistant outfit - Breaks after one use, can be repaired once a month, yada yada

One article of clothing that is stab AND bullet resistant - Breaks after one use, can be repaired once a month, yada yada

Supergiants can order:

A full bullet-resistant outfit AND a full stab-resistant outfit - Breaks after one use, can be repaired once a month, yada yada

Hypergiants can order:

Whatever the fuck you want, fam - Can be repaired whenever you’d like - Still breaks after one use

Hello again, Isolans!

It's been a fair bit of time since we last rolled out a policy update and, today, we're here to bring you another! While this update isn't too heavy with any massive changes, we're hoping that some of the QoL adjustments and implementations mentioned here will help make things a bit smoother and things a little more comfortable going forward across the board. With that said, let's jump on in!

HOUSING REQUIREMENTS

After a bit of discussion, we've decided to shift requirements around for characters wanting to move to another place, whether it be into another character's personal house or one of Spirale's given residences!

Going forward, you'll only need your character to achieve Dwarf rank in order to request a move from your current housing to another, instead of Subgiant.

Keep in mind that requirements for you requesting your own home will remain the same. If you want your own personal housing, you'll have to wait until Giant to request one unless you purchase a Mysterious Key with Stars beforehand.

ACTIVITY CHECKS & TENTH SLOT

Adjustments have been made to the requirements for being able to use, and keep, the 10th slot as well as how long it takes before you can reapply after you've been dinged in two activity checks in a row!

With the group being a bit smaller from when we implemented this slot, you'll no longer have to maintain three consecutive months of activity across your accounts to utilize your 10th slot. You'll still need to be a member of the group for a minimum of six months before you can apply for a 10th character, but you don't have to worry about finding yourself on an AC and suddenly losing access to it.

Rather than waiting two months to be able to reapply your character if they're listed in two ACs in a row, you'll now only need to wait one month in order to send in your character again so long as they aren't already taken on the master list at that time.

Again, hoarding guidelines will be kept untouched and, as mentioned before, we'll always assess them case by case and keep in mind average activity levels of the group at the time.

As another reminder, we don't do activity checks for the month of February. Together with that, we've also decided that in consideration of the holidays and any travels during them, we'll no longer be doing any activity checks for the month of December going forward.

DISCORD SERVER

Some changes have been made in regards to our community discord server with this policy update, more so in regards to things such as the invites to join and adding in some channels!

From this point on, you won't need to send in an ask and receive an individual invite for the discord. Instead we'll be placing an invitation link on the Isola blog for people to click and join at their leisure. You'll still need to have your OOC contact confirmed, but now you don't have to wait longer than usual to get the ball rolling to join in. You'll be able to find the link under the Welcome area beneath the banner!

We're looking to implement a trial for cast channels in the community discord in order to give members a place to discuss their specific media in a place of their own, as well as giving others who may enjoy that same media while not being a castmate or may be interested in getting into it a chance to jump in, too!

There'd be some establishing guidelines, such as requiring a least four muns of the cast in the server for one to be made, as well as if it goes unused for six months we may archive it to maintain a clean space for the time. Otherwise, you'd just have to ask us to make one for your cast in a designated channel and we'll set it up for use when we can.
