It’s quite incredible how many people suddenly come out slamming Israel. They claim to want to support Palestine but it’s just the “woke” “socially acceptable way” of expressing the age old hatred of Jews. They claim that the Israelis are occupying and should leave but my question is where should they go? Nobody else wants them. Where do they find a home?
Remember when Antifa thugs were declaring people to be "Nazis" so they could punch them? The same people are either remarkably silent, or worse, actively defending or even encouraging, terrorist violence against Jews and Israel. Literally taking the side of the Nazis.
Don't forget, there are still people who think the 9/11 attacks were completely justified.
This Babylon Bee post is parody, of course, but the reason it works is that it's so realistic.
[ Link: The Babylon Bee ]
What we've also seen is the mask really drop from the "right side of history." People who gave the anodyne Motte defence of "decolonization" have really come out swinging with the violent Bailey.
They're actively saying "this is what we meant."
https://www.thefp.com/p/this-is-what-decolonization-looks
Meanwhile, the ersatz activists of Hollywood and Silicon Valley are eerily quiet. The people who turned the Ukrainian flag into their avatars, those who worry about misgendering and triggering and safe spaces, those who insist words are violence (those for whom violence is apparently not violence)—they’re busy ignoring all this. We should listen closely to these latter-day Bolsheviks and their many enablers. They are being honest. They are saying exactly what they believe and what they want to see happen.
As I've said time and time again: believe them when they tell you what they're up to. Stop moderating it because it sounds awful, and you assume they must really mean something less appalling. If you're genuinely unsure, press them to be specific.
There are two things you can take away from this horror.
It's never "just about" something benign. If it sounds awful, it is. The people saying this are either lying or ignorant. This is akin to apologetics over Islamic doctrine framed as "you're taking it out of context" or "translation problems"; if it sounds like it's advocating violence, it is. Once you talk to an Islamic scholar, they will unapologetically and unashamedly tell you that it's exactly what it means. Same thing.
The people who want to scold you for your lack of adherence to elite luxury beliefs - neo-pronouns, "privilege," accuse of you of being a "Nazi" for having completely mainstream, liberal values, say slogans like "words are violence," "wE'rE LiTeRaLLy dYiNg," call everything "harm" and "danger" - are hypocrites who endorse actual violence, actual antisemitism, actual genocide. You've been duped by manipulative language. You need never feel ashamed or guilty again.
Pay attention who screamed at you that you were a "racist" for thinking The Little Mermaid was pretty shit, overly long, didn't make any sense when they rewrote it with intersectional feminist themes, the actors expressionless, the CGI amateur... who are now studiously saying nothing about those calling for actual genocide. They've shown who they are, they're morally confused, and their righteousness card has been revoked.
If anyone hasn't already peaked by now, I legitimately don't know what else it will take.
As far as answers, I legit don't know. Both claim entitlement based on their ancient superstitions. Both claim to be justified by their gods. Islam is rampantly and inherently antisemitic, so I don't see much long-term ability to co-exist. It doesn't matter that Israel existed before Palestine, and Judaism before Islam, Palestine isn't going to give up, so I suspect Israel would have to. But then, Islam is never satisfied, as it's a supremacist ideology. You can't negotiate with it, you can't reason with it, and you can't capitulate to it or it will simply escalate its demands; if we've learned nothing else from the betrayal of Salman Rushdie, it's that. So Palestine conquering the area would just embolden other Islamic regimes, as well as terrorist organizations like ISIS and Boko Haram which claim the same entitlement.
EDIT: Or all-out war, I guess.
#ask#decolonization#ethnic cleansing#genocide#antisemitism#israel#palestine#religion is a mental illness

Your Belief System is the Matrix
So, up above us in the goddess system the people below the goddess, they are usually a bunch of asexuals and/or transgender types. Daniel even goes as far to say that you need something to break people's heads on before they will accept that they ahve a false belief system. I mean, with "Victoria's secret" it's obvious. Victoria's Secret is that she was actually born a guy.
I mean, I don't really see anything wrong with people wanting to change their gender, it's the specific way the gay movement goes about lying and also supporting gay supremacy I have a problem with and then saying that they are only supporting for supremacy.
It might be extreme poverty. After I became poor and homeless it was just awful and all the poverty that the system produces and the victim blaming that goes along with it is just terrible. I got sick first, then I lost my job, and then I became homeless or....well my mother just didn't really want to take care of us after we were 18, the family didn't want to stick together.
Maybe it IS the transgender movement though that will get through to them though. Because with the transgender thing, people are picking their genders left and right which means that people are saying how they want to be treated. I mean I don't know, how many people are there out there whose gender is that they want to be bossed around by anonymous things like institutions, jobs, money, society etc. Even with religion, there's a tendency to create little cookie cutter versions of muslim, christian, Jew etc., which de-individualizes and thus inherently degrades.
So, let's go down a laundry list:
-mass poisoning of children.
-destroying the relationships between men and women.
-pushing the queer stuff in a way that mixes up men and women to the point where
-Science and technology is the answer! (the brain chips
-selfishness (enlightened individualism) practiced on a mass scale will lead to wonderful things- enlightenment type thinking.
-Dualistic thinking in general (bad guys, good guys)
-terrible economic practices such as usury, giving corporations rights instead of people.
-corruption in the
-oversexualization of society leading to people
-lack of skills and connection with people.
-corruption in the churches including the changing of the bible, priests definitely not following god,
-feminism and female supremacy, a general attitude that women are sacred and the people for whom society should be built around.
-"Democracy is the best government system ever!"
-general lack of responsibility
-the food system
-torture of the animals and lack of animal protection. animal sacrifice in the religions.
-power politics in the name of equality
-black supremacy and lack of eugenics.
-people think they can make up whatever the fuck they want
-all the whoring...it's a big problem.
-all the simping, male inequality,
-war and the war industry
-the obsession that many have
-secret societies, secrecy in general, lying in politics, lack of transparency.
-only focusing on male sin
-the police
-all the environmental destruction.
-organization based on secrecy, money and the principle of might is right.
-meritocratic extremism.
-existential threats all around us such as nuclear bombs.
-all the vaccines causing autism
-the fake morality and belief system that upholds everything.
-the way that everything is surface level deep.
-the transposition of economics and sex as the "major sin" of society.
-the way that there is basically a death cult running society.
-lack of leadership, organization, love and just general hatred of leaders - also bad leadership such as the one in China which is running the organ trade.
-Meritocratic extremism
-the punishment industrial complex we call prison
-God isn't in charge
-the general lack of tradition
-too much specialization in society leading to no one really knowing what the fuck is going on (increases the chances of scams)
-all the scamming, lying, misdirection etc. especially in the economic system.
-excessive authoritarianism- let's call it tyranny- in the name of all sorts of horrible shit.
-blaming "criminals" and "bad men" for everything when clearly that isn't the case.
-the screen culture in general.
-all the conspiracies and all the disregard
-the general destructive nature of civilization, especially combined with a sort of worship of it.
-the way "the system" fucks over people such as my friend Daniel who was criminalized for hugging someone or my friend Doug White who had his
-People get together all the time to fuck over vulnerable people.
-The brainwashing and abuse (institutionalized) in the school system, including all the bullying.
-if you are a homeless person and you knock on someone's door to talk to them you very well might get thrown in jail....just for trying to talk to someone.
-general lack of children
-despair, depression etc.
-single mothers and the horrible neglect of children.
-monopoly capitalism.
-misdirection in the environmental community about the true nature of who and what is the problem.
-all the bad food, meat eating.
-addictions and drug dealing/addictive products.
-80% of all consumer products are consumed by women (this is an important little fact).
-men beating the shit out of each other and destroying each other for social clout.
-the destruction of the local social scenes, local papers,
-general delusion
-Heavy metals
-the King James Bible, the most well read "holy book" was written by a demonologist.
-Cern is apparently opening portals to bring demons in this world.
-we're actually living in a simulation apparently.
-Debt and all the debt that everyone has.
-drone strikes and general assassinations of everyone who pops up who tries to make things better.
-Satanism and goddess worship often masquerading as other things.
-glyphosate, microplastics and other poisons in the world.
-desertification and pollution everywhere.
-mass child abuse operating in various forms.
-sexual poverty (70% of men haven't had sex with women).
-all the inequality in general and the general unwillingness to
-the general public admires and loves all these fucked up rich and powerful people.
-the money system enables secret rulership (aka rockefellers in America).
-too many laws with many of the only laws being pursued
-overly complicated bureaucratic structure of society.
-Hatred of the poor (classism), refusal to hire them, keeping wages low, policies that prevent the free market from working.
-mob justice and mob rule masquerading as "Social Justice"
-international globalism trying to destroy any independence whatsoever.
-the entire economy
-the businesses that do the best tend to replace people with cheaper people.
-the prison system is basically a slavery system for "criminals" - people who have the audacity to not go along with the insanity.
-People at the bottom, rather than recognizing what the problem.
-the chatGPT insanity and other pyramid schemes.
-anti-whiteness and the general hatred of eugenics. How do you maintain a race, ANY race, without racism? seriously, if everyone mates at random you just get a genetic mess and it destroys the special genetics of a culture and usually the rest of the culture with it.
-the neverending war in the holy land.
-fracturing the mind MKUltra style in order to hurt god.
-you are no one unless you are a "star" or a high SEC/rich person.
-People don't even seem to understand that everyone needs to be working together take care of everyone's needs. That people should be pro-social. That people should strive towards independence, helping each other, getting to know , having good intentions etc. etc.
And I think that's generally where we need to start, because people just go out and get a job and earn money and they really treat each other like garbage.
I'll make another post after this focusing on the Power/Money/authority people.
The worst of it though is that the VAST majority of the people aren't even moderately awake to some of it. They think it's fucking great that there is AI's running around making all these rich people money. They don't find a problem with all the cars on the road. they think it's okay to obey things beside god and think that vast impersonal networks and organizations with little accountability such as in a "democracy" is okay. they think women are sacred and won. they think men are the problem. They cheer on the warleaders at the head of democracies when they go out and wage war. they go to churches (even I have done this) and basically without comment watch as gays, lesbians and secularists take it over. They don't have kids and believe the lie of overpopulation. they lead destructive selfish consumerist lives. Most people are running towards destruction and they run with them without comment.
So, I don't know. no one ever really comments on my posts. It seems no one is paying attention. Daniel says you have to somehow use "something" to shock people out of their belief systems and that's probably the truth although I'm not quite sure what that thing might be or how to present it. We need to get people out though because they will victimize me, other good people and commit endless evils, especially against children.

Okay so a few things right off the bat.
First and foremost: this job isn't hiring protesters. Like it's literally hiring fundraisers. it says so, right there. It's literally a job posting by a CANVASING COMPANY.
When you are raising funds for a non-profit via canvasing, you also usually talk about the non-profits current campaigns. For Amnesty, one of their major focuses at this point in time is Palestinine and calling for a ceasefire. They are looking for people who care about wanting a ceasefire because, as a canvasser, your whole job is helping other people understand WHY they should/already do care. Like. MANY canvassing jobs are advertised that way. This isn't new.
Hell. I found TWO MORE JOB LISTINGS by the same company.
Claiming that they're hiring protesters isn't just misinformation; it's blatant lying.
Secondly, StopAntisemitism is not a reliable source in any way shape or form. They are not.
As far as I can find; they do not conduct research past self-reported surveys. They do not have any active programs. They don't even seem to have a IRS Form 990 available to see how they use their funds.
In fact- all of their advocacy work seems to consist of people sending them tweets/screenshots of anything vaguely critical of Isreal, which they put scary red text on top while actively lying about the content.
Considering they failed to Analyze, research, or verify any of the information in this post, I don't exactly have high hopes for their journalistic integrity.
In fact! For their tangible results for the year 2023, all they had to report was getting a small handful of people fired. Literally that was it. That's all they did.
Im not discounting that several of these could be legitimate cases of antisemitism, (in fact, I'd be surprised if there weren't.) But this org is primarily attacking people who are critical of zionism/isreal. That is their main focus.
They literally have a weekly newsletter called Antisemite of the week, and nearly every single one is just someone who is critical of Zionism.
Also they labeled U.S. congress woman Rashida Tlaib as "Anti-Semite of the Year" for.... You guessed it! Being critical of Isreal. (Source)
This org also called called Jewish people who are critical of Isreal “useful idiots,” “self-hating,” and “self-loathing Jews” (source) and accused pro-palestinian jewish activist Ariel Gold of “using their Jewish blood as a justification for promoting vile racism and hatred toward Jews.” to the point that they named her as the Anti-Semite of the Week (source)
This is just a zionist org. That fact is transparent. And considering they are peddling a belief system so transparently flawed, it's no real surprise they had to lie.
#to be clear#im not jewish.#i do not have a horse in this race and i am very aware of that fact#but this is just. transparently untrue.#and this post is false from everything ive read within it.#free palestine#misinformation#i am not an expert on this topic.#but this is one of the most blantant cases of pro isreal propaganda ive ever seen

'Debra', lol. It's cute that that's apparently an insult to you:) Anyway, first of all I don't believe you. It seems far more likely to me that you're lying about having a learning ability as a way to get out of addressing direct challenges to your noxious, hateful bullshit. Second, if I *did* believe you, that wouldn't change the contempt you've earned-I would simply no longer mock you for failing to read direct challenges to your bullshit. Of course, even if I broke them up into simple sentences, you'd still refuse to address them.
'Gentile atheists'! Hah. This is very much like the time you referred to yourself and 'other Christians' in the 'unintentionally proving my point'. 'Gentile atheists'.
Again, you don't speak for 'a lot of other atheists'. By all means, continue to try and claim you do, but you don't.
'Jews' have not done anything to you. You fucking idiot. A handful of Jewish posters on tumblr of all places don't speak for all Jews, religious and otherwise, anymore than you speak for any amount of atheists, you tedious fucking bigot. You're only claiming that to justify your hatred.
It's telling, of course, that you refer to this as 'hate'. Even if it *was* some sort of aggression to refer to you as culturally Christian-which it isn't-it still wouldn't be an expression of *hatred*, you small-minded thin-skinned bigot. It would just be a criticism you didn't like hearing. By the way, reacting to the smallest criticism as though it were an expression of hatred? Very culturally Christian of you:)
If your pathetic little crusade were directed only at the specific Jews who had 'hurt' you, well, that would still be hateful and tedious, but at least-by the standards you claim to be using-you would have some pretext of justification, that of retaliating against people who had harmed you. But you don't. Some Jews (supposedly) said something to hurt you, and it's the problem of any Jew you can find.
You don't hate Jews because you were hurt by Jews, you hate Jews because you're a fucking antisemitic bigot. You express that hatred online because you're a coward. And you feel that bigotry because you grew up being taught to expect your sense of grievance, justified or otherwise, to be pandered to thanks to your Western Christian roots. And now, when it's not? It's an outrage! Somebody's gotta PAY!
(I know, I know, you didn't read this;) But strangely, at varying times you'll reply to points made throughout this, never comprehensively, but there will be signs that you did in fact read it all and you're just taking a gutless way to pretend you didn't, so you don't have to address anything you don't want to.)
Things I would prefer to be called rather than “culturally christian”
+ Raised christian
+ Has a christian background
+ Exchristian
These still acknowledge a person’s history with christianity while also respecting the fact that they have left it. Hope this helps!

Hey, it's neat that you decided this ought to be its own post! Since maybe you missed it;), I'll offer some of the same remarks here as I did when you spouted this trash there, too: Don't pretend you don't understand that the question of whether rape victims are to be outed to public scrutiny is a fraught one. That there are real, serious questions about the rights of the accused to confront their accuser *and* the rights of the victim to be safe from the public scorn and threats that so often accompany such things. I know you understand this. Just about everyone who isn't a virulent misogynist understands this. I know you would look with outrage and hostility (almost as much outrage as you feel over Jews keeping lights on, amirite?;)) if, in response to a more ordinary accusation of rape, someone immediately demanded, "Who are they?! Give me their full name and details of their account, NOW, or they're LYING!"
Now, add onto all of that that these sexual assaults happened in a literal war zone, well, that makes following ordinary civic procedure of such things a little more complicated, too! Weird! The funny thing is, you're such a lazy, stupid antisemite that, as usual, your bigotry takes you into comical absurdities. You *could* have raised a question about 'how many sexual assaults? Was it a Hamas policy?' and been on (potentially) safer, un-antisemitic footing. Those are (potentially) fair questions. You could've raised the factor of 'in wartime, charges of atrocity are made and often wildly exaggerated-what can we do to mitigate that? Hell, you could even have pretended you and your ilk wouldn't immediately respond to someone who did come forward with a claim that they'd been raped when Hamas broke the ceasefire and massacred Israelis (largely because of threats to its own power by political and diplomatic maneuverings in the region, rather than any high-minded claims of 'resistance' which by any measure has been horribly served by Hamas's 'struggle') with the harshest, most toxic scorn and disbelief and hatred. And that *maybe* that sort of response *might* have something to do, in addition to so many other factors, with their not publicizing their names. But no. That's what a less deranged bigot, or at least a less stupid and lazy one might've said or done. Some of those options aren't bigoted at all, in fact! But you. With your 'name ONE'. If it weren't so antisemitic and misogynistic of you, it would be funny. Because the truth is, when armies march, when soldiers fight, even when they're in places where they DON'T have generations of hostility towards the civilians...sexual assault happens. It's awful, but it's a fact of war and military action among civilians. Quite a lot of serious and prolonged effort has to go into place to *mitigate* this, much less stop it entirely. So for your 'name ONE' to be credible, well, not only would it have to be true that Hamas fighters are more virtuous than most fighting men, but they'd need to be positively saintly. Which of course they aren't. But hey, the victims are Jews, so who cares, right? (Oh, before I forget, remind me: whereabouts, regionally, do you live that you haven't heard of firecrackers on New Year's?:))
Name ONE woman who was raped by Hamas. The Israeli government claims there were “hundreds”, possibly “thousands” of women raped on Oct 7.
Name ONE.
If Donald Trump claimed that Mexicans were raping American women on the border en masse but not a single woman had said she was raped and there were not a single documented case, would you believe him?

I have to say, Wicca: Satan's Little White Lie has a lot less outright bullshit than something like Michelle Remembers. Schnoebelen references actual people, actual beliefs, and actual drama, and describes a lot of things that aren't outright impossible, even if they may not have happened.
The notion of a politically twisted satanic group trying to recruit from pagan spaces? Hardly implausible, given how many fringe spiritual groups are in fact extremely fucked up cults, and look for people they can lure in with promises of great secret knowledge and ultimate power.
Where it gets absurd is where Schnoebelen starts claiming that Wicca was intentionally designed to attract potential converts, and that the people behind Wicca are actually part of this giant satanic conspiracy that just so happens to work exactly like witch hunt propaganda described witches and antisemitic propaganda described Jews.
If the rhetoric's the same, so is the game. The purpose of narratives like these, in addition to profiting their writers, is to promote hatred against anyone who isn't a conservative Christian, particularly a conservative Evangelical Christian. The goal is the elimination of anyone who isn't considered Christian, or Christian enough.
You'll notice that there's a similar endgame where these conspiracy theories have bled over into New Age spaces - the goal is the elimination of anyone who isn't a New Ager.
Schnoebelen claims that he listened to Warnke speak in Milwaukee, when he was supposedly a satanist, and claims that in retrospect, he wonders how many neopagan witches insisting they weren't satanists were lying like he claims he was.
Then he brings up Anton LaVey, and points out LaVey referring to female members of the Church of Satan as witches. And this is one of those things where Schnoebelen is right; even though many neopagans insisted that witches weren't satanists, the reality is that all kinds of people have identified themselves as witches.
He claims that before 1950, few people had ever heard of a "good witch," so I guess The Wizard of Oz just went over his head.
Then he dives into how the word "witch" was defined before recent times, and of course he's not wrong, but the issue here is that he's ignoring the complex social and political realities that modern witches faced, both inside and outside the sphere of these small spiritual movements. And of course the neopagans proclaiming that witches don't do X, Y, and Z weren't really correct, but it also reflected their own personal convictions of what witchcraft really meant, at least in ideal.
He goes through a bunch of linguistic shit that like... well, he's not wrong, but it's also irrelevant in the light of actual sociological realities throughout history. "Akshually, 'witch' was basically always a pejorative' might be a historically accurate statement, but it's irrelevant where the beliefs and practices of modern neopagans are concerned. These were people who believed Margaret Murray's ideas, not people who were closet satanists or on the path to becoming satanists.
Next he gets into the "Burning Times" stuff. If you're familiar with this part of history, you know that it was perpetrated by Christians, but was not targeting cryptopagans - that was a theory pushed by Margaret Murray, which has been discredited. Nor was it even targeting "witches," because the witches were a boogeyman made up to justify Christian dominion. Did people practice malefic magic? Yes, of course. Were these people occasionally put on trial? Also yes. But the grand conspiracy of Devil-worshiping witches, that were asserted to be a serious problem, did not exist. Most of the people targeted were just regular people, albeit those in the margins.
Schnoebelen asserts that the witch hunters of ye old times weren't true Christians, and therefore, modern witches can't claim that Christians ever persecuted witches. This is a fucking wild thing to say in a book written for a Christian audience, intended to fan the flames of an ongoing witch hunt, literally targeting those who identify themselves as witches.
Bill. My man. My dude. Witch burnings are simply what happens when you go around telling people that there's a grand conspiracy of Devil-worshiping witches trying to destroy society. Maybe you personally wouldn't light that match, but I promise you that there are plenty of people among those you reckon as "true Christians" who would. Especially if they think it's the only way to "save the children."
Schnoebelen, who has decided that Catholicism is a satanic institution, asserts:
By and large, the vast majority of the executions for witchcraft were done by the Roman Catholic church, which is not really an orthodox Christian institution, since it denies most of the cardinal doctrines of the New Testament.
Sorry Bill, but both Protestants and Catholics were involved here. King James I, who was responsible for a lot of what went on in England, was Protestant. And the Catholic Church, as an institution, wasn't really driving witch hunts.
You know who drives witch hunts, Bill?
People like you.
The Roman church is far closer to Paganism than it is to Christianity.
Not exactly, Bill. The Roman Church is closer to imperial Roman religion of antiquity than Evangelical Christianity is. This is because Catholicism was created by imperial Rome, whereas Evangelical Christianity came about hundreds of years later. Both strains of Christianity are products of their time and place.
Schnoebelen is also clearly unaware that the content of the New Testament isn't all that dissimilar from pagan ideas of the 1st century, including salvific religion and escape from the earthly plane. I could easily describe baptism as a ritual of sympathetic magic, where initiates symbolically re-enact Jesus's death and resurrection in order to attain the immortality they believe Jesus has. Think that sounds far-fetched? Read The Acts of the Apostles. Read Paul's authentic letters. It's right there, and it ain't subtle.
People can, of course, go from Wicca to some form of Satanic spirituality, but William "Bill" Schnoebelen claimed that Wicca was actually created to recruit naive spiritual seekers and gradually indoctrinate them into the beliefs of a worldwide Satanic conspiracy.
In Wicca: Satan's Little White Lie, he tries to present himself as an innocent man seduced into dark powers, but the way he actually talks about himself, it sounds more like he just wanted power and would go along with pretty much anything so long as it seemed to offer more power.
So now he's claiming that Wiccans who desired "more wisdom" would be taught that the Horned God was actually Lucifer, and from there be led into LaVeyan Satanism, and from there, be led into "hardcore" satanism; IE, conspiracy theory satanism.
He claims that:
The man who was my immediate superior was a strange, but powerful satanist from Chicago with all sorts of connections in politics and industry. I was amazed at the people of power I would meet at the sabbats.
I figured I had it made and my ship was finally coming in. I signed a pact in my own blood with Satan. He received complete control of my body and soul. In return, I got seven years of whatever I desired: money, sex, drugs or power! It could all be mine!
Familiar fairy tale trope is familiar, lol
Then, Schnoebelen claims that he'd sent a check in to the Church of Satan, and it came back with the words "I'll be praying for you in Jesus's name" written on it. And apparently he knows it's a woman's handwriting because it was "delicate and feminine."
And then he claims:
Within days, things began to happen. I lost my job, my wife got sick, I got sick, and my satanic mentor, so powerful and self-assured, got in a serious truck accident and ended up in the hospital with grievous abdominal injuries. His previously limitless supply of money from California dried up, and I was effectively cut off from all my powerful new contacts.
I'm sorry... what? That's... that's awfully vicious behavior for the deity who's supposed to have the moral high ground, my dude. Are you saying that all this lady did was pray for you, and God just chose violence?
Later, Schnoebelen claims:
Much of my personal story as contained in chapter one is radically different from the current public relations image being promoted in the media by witches and Neo-Pagans.
Like the PR material for any deceptive religious cult, they wish to present as positive an image as possible. They deal in non-issues rather than the central points which really matter in an eternal perspective.
Goddamnit, this is another one of those things where the Christians act offended because the people who aren't Christian don't subscribe to the whole "you need a savior to save you from your sins" thing, isn't it?
Anyway, Schnoebelen quotes Laurie Cabot's list of Witches' Do's and Don'ts, and proceeds to gripe and complain that witches aren't actually morally pure as all that.
Again, we're dealing with a relatively new spiritual movement where people are bound to make idealistic statements that won't hold up upon meeting the complexity of the real world, or that people just won't always live up to because people aren't perfect. And quite frankly, Christianity is no different; y'all have your high-minded ideals, but in the day-to-day you make a lot of concessions and compromises. And you have to, because your survival depends on it. You can't always give your boss your "honest opinion," and it's not prudent to give away everything you own.
What about magic? As I mentioned in my own story, the ethics get a bit nebulous when you decide if you’re going to heal someone without their permission, or do a love spell on a person without their knowledge. You see, this is all so vague it is meaningless. Suppose you have a relative with Alzheimer’s disease. Would it be alright to put a spell on him to kill him and “put him out of his misery?”
Some witches would say yes, others would say no. To whom do we turn to settle these things? In some older witch traditions, being a homosexual was a “no-no,” yet other newer witch groups celebrate “gayness.” Did they get a direct line from the “Universal Law” to change the rules? Is it alright to cheat on your “lady?” If she doesn’t know, she isn’t harmed, is she? You see how misguided and useless this kind of ethical system is? It allows for all manner of exploitation and evil, and believe me - I knew some awfully selfish and exploitative “Wiccans” in my day. One of them stole my high priestess’ wedding and engagement rings!
Man, if only there were people who ask these hard questions and search for ways to deal with these issues without appealing to a higher authority... if only people had been interested in wrangling such things since ancient times... if only there were such things as philosophers and ethicists... if only...
By the way, Bill, if Christians are supposed to be all loving and harmless, is it correct to pray for someone knowing that your god might likely inflict violence on them? Is that really any better or different than straight-up siccing a violent demon on them?
And then Bill claims this about the Threefold Law:
For example, if you perceive that someone has injured you in some fashion, either magically or physically, you have the “right” by Witch Law to hurt him three times worse. What often happens is that witches are injured in some real or imagined way and believe they have the right to hex the offending person three times worse!
This is literally not what the Threefold Law is about. The Threefold Law is one of those kinda culturally Christian "what goes around, comes around" kind of deals. Retaliation isn't supposed to be necessary because the universe will supposedly hurt the original dickbag three times worse.
He claims that a young woman stole the HP's jewelry, and the HP "invoked the law of three" and supposedly, the young woman fell down a stairs and was paralyzed from the neck down:
We did not curse her and say, “Goddess, make her fall down a flight of stairs and be paralyzed.” We just invoked this “Law” upon her. To end up a paralytic for life for ripping off jewelry is a bit severe. This was done when I believed I was a “white” witch and would never have considered cursing someone or seeking power from the devil.
Dude... may I remind you of what you claimed happened when Bank Lady prayed to Jesus? Literally how are Christians any better, in your reckoning?
Schnoebelen claims that magical fights will inevitably escalate and may I remind you, Schnoebelen, that Evangelical Christians see themselves as being in the middle of a spiritual war, waged against everyone who isn't like them. You, Schnoebelen, apparently believe it's justified for Christians to pray to Jesus to inflict violence on anyone who isn't a Christian. The crowd you're appealing to prays for horrible things to happen to everyone they've made their enemies every day. The crowd you're appealing to thought AIDS was God's punishment on the gays.
You don't have the moral ground you want everyone to think you have.
