Thoughts on Ishan :
(and ict in general)
1. When he opted out of India's test squad before our series with S. Africa....I knew... I KNEW it will be a long time before we'll get to see him playing for India again.
And then few weeks later Rahul Dravid said in a press conference... He can come back... Just play domestic.... My heart sank.
Here's the thing, I don't blame him at all for taking a break due to mental fatigue.
I fully support his decision as well. He prioritised himself and that's good.
But my dude... If I was your friend, if I was there with you... I wouldn't have let you go.
I would have grabbed his trousers and refused to let go. This is team India. You take one step back and 10 other people are standing right behind you ready to take your place.
Shubhman gill was hyped up so much... Remember his 126 in 63 balls against New Zealand?
But he faltered.
And Today he's in reserve.
Jaiswal is going to be our new opener in all 3 formats very soon. And there's nothing wrong with that. The guy earned it.
Ishan left the South Africa Series and a month later during the india Vs England test Series Jurel was picked and he did an excellent job.
Now imagine... Imagine if Ishan was there instead... If ishan had scored those 90 runs.....he would have made his place permanent.
I'll repeat myself.... I don't blame him for leaving... But he should have thought this through. Especially when a guy like Rahul Dravid is your coach.
(he's the same guy who gave declaration during a test match when Sachin Tendulkar was about to score a century. He's not as innocent as he looks.)
Another thing which really hurts me is how so many people complain about him being benched and then dropped but Yaar....there are tons of players who have gone through this.
Even Ashwin was benched. He said in an interview that when his team would win he wouldn't even feel like going in the ground to congratulate them coz of how hurt he felt.
It happens.
.
.
.
Anyways My overall opinion on this drama is :
1. I support him for leaving.
2. But I hate that he left.
3. A block of ice would be a better coach than Rahul Dravid.
Anyways... Jo hogaya so hogaya.
What I want now is for him to focus on his future.
And He can start by leaving Mumbai Indians.
MI was the team who would pick young players, groom and invest in them and make them capable enough for team India.
The MI we have seen this year is no longer that team. It doesn't matter how many reels their insta page puts out, the atmosphere of that team is tense, awkward and a hot mess.
If Mumbai really cared about a future captain as they claimed.... They should have made Ishan their new captain...like how csk and gt did with ruturaj and gill.
But oh well.
Right now... The best he can do is keep himself fit, play domestic and leave MI at THE EARLIEST.
That team, it's atmosphere, the mismanagement and inner conflicts (believe me, they exist) will not help him at all.
Imo, he doesn't need a team to grow. He has developed a good skill set. What he needs now is a stage.
A team like Kkr, RR or Gt will be great for that because these teams don't drop Their players after 1 or 2 matches... Have good coaches, stable environment and a good atmosphere overall.
Ishan is an excellent wicket keeper + batsman and the type of cricket he plays is best suited for t20 format (one day and test also but especially t20).
Whether we win or lose this t20 world cup... This one is the last one for our senior players.
After that, our youngsters will take charge (at least they should).
Yashasvi and Abhishek should be our openers.
Gill, rutu and Riyan would perfect be for middle order.
Ishan, with his explosive batting style, would be the perfect finisher.
Also... This dumb culture of batters not learning bowling (encouraged by this stupid impact rule) that has developed in the Indian team needs to STOP.
Look at Australia and New Zealand's t20 squad. Look at how many all rounders they have.
Look at ours. We won the 2007 cup because of all rounders as well.
Also... We cage our players. We hold them back. A player like Travis head is playing with such ferocity because his style and mindset is supported by his captain, his team and his media.
Meanwhile... If an Indian player attempts to do the same and doesn't make a big score in 2 -3 matches... He'll be benched instantly.
Another thing... If we look up the stats of our players in this year's t20 wc squad...
Except virat, Bumrah and maybe kuldeep ...everyone else is on ram bharose.
When players like n. reddy, ishan, rutu, gill, Riyan, natrajan... will be groomed and given enough opportunities....their aggressive style will be supported instead of criticized.... that's when we will win trophies.

Also, what's going on with the Indian cricket team, I heard they're dropping players?
they are!!! players like ishan kishan and shreyas iyer didn't get their contracts renewed because they didn't follow instructions (like ishan kishan didn't play ranji even when they ordered him to?? idk what's wrong with him). baaki, apparently the management is not including virat kohli in the t20 world cup team cause he is not performing in t20s which is the dumbest thing i have heard in my fkn life. 😭
#if virat doesnt i wont even hope for a win.#we need him#its not possible to win the cup having a team full of youngsters. 😭#asks#cricket

Thoughts on our win :
1. Finally God finally after so much waiting crying and desperately hoping we won an ICC event. Finally our players will be bringing a trophy home 💙
2. Virat, Rohit and Jadeja retired ....yes it's sad but you know what? Good for them. I think retiring at the peak of your career with a trophy by your side is much better than being dropped from series then formats and then basically being forgotten. Take the example of bhuvi, Rahane, Pujara shikhar, etc. Even today their fans wish for a last match but we all know that's not going to happen. So before some rando selectors drop them and insult them... They decided to leave first. I applaud their decision.
3. Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Reddy are debuting in 3 days for our series in Zimbabwe. Shubhman Gill will be captain. I do not like that decision. I think Sanju or maybe even Ruturaj should have been given captaincy. But it's the decision of selectors and coach...and ultimately gill is an Indian player and I will always support our players and team.
4. I am desperately waiting for the matches for Ranjhi Trophy 2024 - 2025 to start just to see Ishan play and re-enter the race. I will never blame him for leaving but God I wish he hadn't left.
5. If they don't make Gautam Gambhir our next coach in the Sri Lanka series I WILL THROW HANDS.
6. I bow down for the Afghanistan players and their dedication. Without their victory against Australia and Bangladesh we wouldn't be able to kick Australia out of the world cup. And their entry into the semi finals proves that they are the best cricket team in Asia after India.

I have finally come to my senses and it has finally just sunk in that India has WON, we freaking won the T20 world cup. I couldn't believe it. I was screaming with joy and happy tears were streaming down my face at 11.30 p.m. at night after Hardik Pandya's last delivery. My heartbeat during the entire match went 📈📉. I was so scared when Klassen was on the field and then hardik took his wicket. Hardik proved it, he proved what it means to turn your boos into cheers, what it is to complete one's redemption arc. His words : "last 6 months were, I haven't spoken a word, things have been unfair. I knew that if I kept working hard I could shine and do what I could do", they show how much he suffered and yet still kept a smile on his face. Those words of him will forever remind me to keep working on yourself and ignore the world because when the time comes everyone's criticism will turn into praise. Everybody's contribution yesterday and throughout the tournament has culminated into yesterday's win. If everyone hadn't contributed be it on the field or from the bench by carrying waterbottles or messages, the win wouldn't have been possible. After 11 years we finally won an icc trophy, the win finally eased the hurt of the memories of 2023 odi wc where 1.4 billion people shed tears and were haunted by the memories of that match. Yet despite the overwhelming happiness, today is also tinged with a bit of sadness and bitter melancholy, the reason being, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma. They are our childhood, we grew up watching them play. The jersey numbers VK18, Rohit45 and Jadeja8 are forever imprinted in our minds. Jadejas bullet fielding, Rohits pull shots and Virats batting will forever imprinted in our minds and hearts. Their retirement from the t20 format is marking the beginning of the end of an era. Yes, they will continue playing the longer formats of odi and test but we will miss them in t20's not only them but Trent boult and David Warner, too. But as they said it's time for the newer generation to come forward and carry the torch on and VK, Jaddu and Rohit definitely got the fairytale ending they deserved especially after not only the nightmarish 19th November but also the several semi finals and finals we lost over the years. Here, I will input that I am hoping for ishan kishan's comeback too. The dual emotions of happiness and sadness had made the overwhelming. Here's to hoping for an even brighter future. Here's to the future of indian cricket and Indian cricket team. Because we are THE WORLD T20 CHAMPIONS OF 2024!!!🥳🥳🥳.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction Dates and Venue Announced by BCCI
IPL 2025 Auction Likely to be Held in Riyadh on November 24-25: The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction has always been a much-anticipated event, drawing global attention as teams battle to build the best squads. For the 2025 season, the excitement has reached new heights, with reports suggesting that the mega auction will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to officially confirm the location, sources close to the matter indicate that Riyadh is the likely host city.
Franchise Retention Strategies and Key Highlights
All ten IPL franchises have submitted their retention lists, offering glimpses into their team-building approaches for the 2025 season. As teams retained their core players while releasing others, several prominent names have been added to the auction pool, increasing the competition and adding excitement for fans.
Retention Highlights Across Franchises
The franchises have retained 46 players, with a total investment of ₹558.5 crore. Notably, 36 of these players are Indian, including 10 uncapped Indian stars. Here’s a breakdown of major retention decisions:
Mumbai Indians – With five IPL titles, Mumbai Indians have built a strong Indian core by retaining key players like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav. Tilak Varma, a promising young left-hander, also retained his place. Notably, Ishan Kishan, a talented youngster, was released, leaving MI with a ₹45 crore budget for the auction.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru – RCB has opted for a selective approach, retaining only three players: Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal. Kohli commands the highest retention fee at ₹21 crore, giving RCB the second-largest auction purse of ₹83 crore.
Punjab Kings – Surprising many, Punjab Kings chose not to retain any capped players, focusing instead on young talent. They retained only two players, Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh, and hold the largest auction budget at ₹110.5 crore.
Rajasthan Royals – Rajasthan Royals solidified their batting lineup with strategic retentions, although they still seek an additional opener. With the smallest purse of ₹41 crore, RR enters the auction with a precise plan to strengthen its roster.
Chennai Super Kings – MS Dhoni will once again grace the IPL, retained by CSK as an uncapped player. CSK’s strategy combines experience with fresh talent, retaining Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Matheesha Pathirana.

Top Players Entering the Auction Pool
With several renowned players left out of the retention lists, the 2025 auction pool includes high-caliber talent. Here’s a look at some of the notable players available for auction:
Released Indian Captains
The release of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant has left three experienced Indian captains in the auction pool. Franchises seeking strong leadership may vie for these players, adding an extra layer of excitement to the auction.
England Players in the Auction
Interestingly, no England players were retained by any franchise this season. Major players like Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Harry Brook, Phil Salt, and Will Jacks will be up for grabs. Their release reflects teams’ concerns about availability, as these players missed parts of the season due to international commitments.
Young and Uncapped Talents
This year’s auction also features a number of unproven Indian talents, with ten uncapped players retained by various teams. These young players offer affordable options and the potential to evolve into match-winners, making them valuable assets in the auction.

Franchise-by-Franchise Retained Player List
Each team’s retained player list showcases their unique strategy and vision for the 2025 season. Here’s the full list:

Delhi Capitals (DC): Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel.

The Anticipated IPL 2025 Auction Day
The stage is set for an intense IPL 2025 auction as teams prepare to outbid each other for top players. If held in Riyadh as expected, the event will represent a pivotal moment in IPL history, emphasizing the league’s growing international influence. With captains like Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul up for grabs, franchises will have the opportunity to redefine their leadership.

Half of the job is completed. You have to remain composed and pay attention to the present. Shami clasped his chance with both hands. He is a quality bowler and carries experience. We were looking at perhaps three hundred plus at one point. Bravo on your bowlers' pulling back. I'm having fun with my batting. We have different personalities, yet we (Gill and I) fit each other nicely. Good, we will win. Not much to say here. For years, Kohli has been doing this. When we lost a few wickets, he and Jadeja dragged us back. Though it wasn't clinical today, fielding is our pride. Among fielders worldwide, Jadeja is among the best. These occurrences occur. We already know that fielding will determine a lot going ahead. We enjoy travelling and playing in many corners of the earth. New Zealand National Cricket Team Vs India National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: Tom Latham on the Game Tom Latham: "We performed nicely but missed opportunities in the last ten overs. To India, credit We failed to produce the double breakthrough. Rachin and Mitchell had a fantastic working relationship that would help us through the last stretch. Our gang is quite good. Daryl with the century and Rachin with the bat performed, admittedly. Before the next game, we get a few days off. We try to do excellent deeds”. It's essential to support your peers. The team must do well. It was important to get those late scores. This makes me happy because it means India is now in first place in the table. What could New Zealand have done better? Their fifth bowling choice doesn't look perfect. They can avoid having spinners like Ravindra and Phillips play crucial overs when the weather is good. But they need a different plan when the conditions are suitable for hitting. Even though Boult and Henry were teasing the edges, they didn't get any early catches. An Era Ends: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Farewell to T20Is
The joyous celebrations of India's T20 World Cup victory were tinged with a touch of bittersweetness as two legends of the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, announced their retirement from T20 Internationals.
Kohli, the run machine with an unmatched hunger for success, left his final T20 innings on a high with a match-winning 76 in the final. His passion, intensity, and record-breaking feats will forever be etched in the annals of Indian cricket history.
Rohit Sharma, the elegant opener with a knack for big scores, led India to World Cup glory as captain. His calm demeanor and strategic brilliance were instrumental in the team's success.
While their decision to retire from T20Is comes as a surprise, it also marks a graceful exit at the pinnacle of their careers. They leave behind a legacy that will inspire generations of cricketers to come.
The void left by Virat and Rohit will be significant, but it also presents an opportunity for young talents to step up. The likes of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan will have the chance to carve their own niche in the T20 format.
Thank you, Virat and Rohit, for the memories! We wish you all the best in your ODI and Test careers.
