The week between Christmas and New Years can be rough with the bookend holidays and many people out of town or unavailable to participate in work projects. However, it is a great time to support guests and families that are more focused on leisure activities than simply business-related travel. Today my guests wanted a taste of something local. We decided a stroll to @2ndstorybakeshop would meet that requirement. This local bakery offers great savory and sweet options. The cheese gougeres (French cheese puffs) and always delicious and we were totally excited with the persimmon cake and the new chocolate cakes (chipotle and rosemary version pictured.) Keeping with the local theme they also serve Chromatic Coffee. For those that can’t make it to the Bake Shop in downtown san Jose, many local Whole Foods carry their breads.
