I’m laughing because Isadore, growing up the way she did entered the Inquisition super polite and quiet, so Cassandra thought that she was pretty good, then her and Sera started canoodling and her inner recklessness came out full force.

Isadore is a terrible mage - by terrible, I mean she sucks at it. She grew up in Darktown with her immigrant parents and when she started to show signs of magic she was encouraged (and let’s be real she had to) to repress it. For a good chunk of her life she only used magic to light candles or make ice when her family needed it. It was too risky to get caught by Templars and sent to the Gallows.

When she joined the Mage Underground it’s the first time she’s given a staff, but only when she’s out running missions for them. Anders gives her one and she has absolutely NO IDEA how to use it. She’s taught by some apostates, Anders included, some magic theory but she never absorbed much of it. She was too busy worrying about surviving.

After the Chantry explosion and she was separated by her family she traveled with apostates until the Conclave. She got a bit better, especially with combat magic, mainly because she had to learn it. It was her first time using a staff all the time and she would constantly whack people around her. 

When she becomes Inquisitor, Vivienne, Dorian and Solas take it upon themselves to make sure she properly learns. Though, she still kinda sucks lol. She’s always using the wrong spells and putting barriers in the wrong places. 

But, she can make a snow cone for Sera. If there’s one thing she can do perfectly in magic, it’s that.

OKAY what would your top 3 OTPs get for each other for a holiday gift exchange and why

OH THIS IS GOOD

Leliana and Amihan would get matching lockets. Amihan's has a lock of Leli's hair in it and Leli's is charmed by Amihan and it gives her luck. A lot of it us because Leli knows how afraid of being abandoned Amihan is and it's a symbol of her promise that she will always be there for her

Cullen gives Imryll his lucky coin and Imryll gives Cullen a weaved bracelet that's charmed. Imryll has intense anxiety and the lucky coin, as silly as it sounds helps. The woven bracelet puts Cullen at ease and reminds him that Imryll is willing to share her culture with him and he feels blessed.

Sera got Isadore this book of Seheron tales after Isadore learned how to read. Neither of them know how accurate it is, Bull just found it, but it's enough, because it reminds Isadore of her mom. Isadore gets Sera this velvet handkerchief, I hc that Sera loves the feel of velvet and she stims with it. Knowing it's from Isadore makes it extra comforting. Isadore also charmed it :) (lol see the pattern there)

I imagine that ice cream or ice desserts in general would be a rare treat in Thedas. Keeping things cold would require magic or runes, one of which is illegal and the other most likely expensive. 

So I’d see the rich and cultures in which mages have more freedom (the Dalish, the Avvar) would have easier access. Dwarves too! Because I think they canonically use a water rune down in Orzammar so ice runes would be a thing.

Also did some quick research (thanks for the ref guys lol) and a lot of frozen desserts were made with snow.

Sera x Human Mage Quizzie (not Trevelyan)

In the alienage, Sera remembered how whenever it snowed they’d make sweet ice treats. In fact it’s one of her more fond memories there with parents she can’t remember. A bowl of ice with berries and when they’re lucky, honey. It was her favorite thing in the world.

When she lived with Lady Emmauld, she used runes. Expensive runes she bought to make fancy ice desserts during her parties. Another fond memory Sera has amidst the sadder ones.

She tells Isadore this one night while they’re cuddled up. 

Sera is not comfortable with magic - it scares her. At first this hurts Isadore, because she can’t help it, she was born with magic. Then they talk. Sera’s afraid because she thinks magic can only hurt and do bad. After all, look at that hole in the sky. 

Isadore starts to understand.

One day, a particularly hot one Isadore comes to her with a bowl filled with fresh berries. She asks Sera if it’s okay to use magic. Sera trusts her, she says yes, but nervously. Isadore says she’s going to use it on the bowl and not her. So it’s fine. 

Isadore freezes the bowl and makes ice, then she takes a fork smooshes the berries in. 

Sera’s eyes light up. 

Good memories and good feelings come in. She takes a giant spoonful and she smiles. Isadore pulls out a jar of honey. Even better.

She drizzles it on top and it’s the best thing in the world.

“Have some, inky,” Sera says and feeds her a big spoonful. Isadore laughs.

“I can’t believe you did that, during this hot day,” Sera begins, “It’s like...it’s like...”

“Magic?”

Sera stops. 

Then she starts to understand. 

She kisses Isadore and she can taste the raspberries and honey on her lips. The sweetest they’ve ever tasted. 

She can understand. 

Magic can be used for bad, but it can also be used for love.

Some few ~saucy headcanons

- Leliana can get Amihan’s legs shaking when she goes down on her. Once she’s memorized all of Amihan’s sweet spots, she licks agonizingly slow and thorough and when Amihan gets close she pulls back and slips a finger in and does this until Amihan’s practically begging to come and she’s left a wet mess on Leliana’s palm

- So there’s that banter about Anders’ magic fingers and I literally have not STOPPED thinking about it. Sinag’s usually the one that has Anders a hot mess but how the turn tables when he uses the magic fingers. He knows how to do it enough so it doesn’t hurt but enough to add an extra zing and add a little bit of friction that Sinag loses it whoop

- Josie is really good with her hands in a certain way where she could rub Tala and get her so worked up that she’d be soaking wet through her smalls. I honestly feel like Josie can be sort of a tease if you let her, so she’ll take her finger and just very lightly trace Tala’s outer lips before trailing her mouth down her inner thighs and goin in tO EAT

- Imryll LOVES getting fucked and that’s really funny because when you see her she really doesn’t seem like the type but she told Cullen to not be afraid to REALLY give it to her sometimes. If Cullen fucks her a certain way and does it good enough, she’ll squirt all over his thighs. 

- You all know my headcanon that Sera is REALLY GOOD at head, but I also headcanon she’s a pro at fingering (because of that goddamn banter about fisting nfisndfu) so she does this thing where she’ll rub Isadore real good, fuck her with her fingers but won’t let her come until she’s doing slow, agonizing swirls around her clit with her tongue. I think last time I had another song but I have a lot of theme songs for ships :) Smash Into You is one of my favorite love songs of all time and it’s such a lovesick, lovestruck song dripping in sap and feelings. It perfectly describes how I believe Cullen and how Imryll feels when it comes to loving someone.

I have two theme songs for the two of them as well, I have one for the DAI-era, but this is in-general. Amihan, like all my Circle mage ocs, has a lot of emotional and intimacy issues. Her mother called the Templars on her and she was used to being abandoned and thrown away and never having close relationships that when Leliana begins to show it to her it’s so frightening to her. Her first instinct is that it’s not real, because love never was for her until then.

Alistair x Violetta Amell - Out of the Woods by Taylor Swift

Alistair and Violetta had a very complicated relationship - they never knew if they were in the clear. They couldn’t stand each other for most of the Blight and only got together after Alistair became King and Violetta was one of his advisors. Their ranks made it very hard to be together + Violetta’s emotional damage and Alistair continually being guilted by Eamon because he didn’t like Violetta. It ends bad, but they reunite again in DAI and maybe there’s a second chance.

Sera x Isadore - Honey by Kehlani

This again is one of my favorite love songs of ALL TIME. It’s so sweet. Besides the honey part lol, this just reminds me of Sera and Isadore’s relationship. The song is warm and comforting. They’re two outcasts who found acceptance and love with each other. Isadore is an illiterate Darktown apostate, Sera is a mercenary city elf, but they’re worth so much to each other, even if the world didn’t think so. Plus, the lyrics I have down, I can totally hear Sera saying :)

God, I have A LOT. But let me actually do three that I’ve developed with the utmost care.

Amihan/Leliana

Amihan was my VERY FIRST DA OC, and my canon Warden and the OC I’ve poured a lot of my heart and soul into. 

Amihan for most of her early life felt like a throw-away. Her mother called the Templars on her and her father promised to write but never did (there’s more to this though that’s a whole other thing). She saw how vulnerability was used against you in the Circle so in order for no one to have nothing against her, she wasn’t going to be vulnerable. She saw her worth solely on her magical talent and she had a complex of believing she was better than the other apprentices but also thinking she’s been cursed by the Maker and is the worst thing in the world. She was rude and cold, her only friend was Finn.

Leliana was the first person Amihan felt safe being vulnerable too. Amihan is not religious but hearing an Andrastian say that the Maker doesn’t hate her because she’s a mage was weirdly comforting. Leliana was patient and she made it so easy for Amihan to let her guard down. She was the first person to ever show Amihan affection and to someone who grew up the way Amihan did, it was kind of earth-shattering. 

I oftentimes hesitate in writing that it was ~love that got Amihan to step being so self-absorbed, but in a way, it was Leliana. Amihan had nothing to care for and nothing to lose (she and Finn accepted that they may at any time get separated and never see each other again) until Leliana came into the picture. She re-examined her actions and thought twice about how she spoke to people. She learned how to give back.

Amihan also had nobody that fought for her, and when she realized that Leliana will, no question she realized her worth. And when Amihan was willing to kill Marjolaine for Leliana with nothing in return, Leliana also realized her worth. 

I love that despite being away from each other for YEARS they still go on strong. They’re both independent people but they’re each other’s rocks. Their ability to have their relationship adapt with changes that come just proves how strong their bond is and I just love their everlasting love because I think they both deserve it so much.

Cullen/Imryll

I’ve talked A LOT about these two so I’ll try to keep it short lol. But what I love the most is that they heal together. It’s not “The other person fixes the other”, but it’s the fact that they’re both in it together while they get better. They’re both a source of comfort and support for each other. After their bad first impression, there’s just something about the other that makes them feel safe. Safe enough to be vulnerable and open. I think it’s because they’re so much alike in certain ways where they’re both drawn to each other’s quiet energies.

They’re drift compatible okay.

I also love how they help the other become better. Cullen wants to protect Imryll but he knows he can’t always be there to help her fight her battles - so he helps her train so she can protect herself. Imryll helps Cullen see things in a new light, and he appreciates that she doesn’t coddle him when he slips. 

And the last thing is that yes, while I am aware it’s much more than that, the two of them give so much fairytale vibes. It’s that cute, sugary kind of feel-good romance and it makes me really happy. They’re both ridiculously soft and gross with each other and sometimes you need that. 

Sera/Isadore

I’m a bit embarrassed because Isadore is a self-insert but whatever #yolo lmao.

The word I think of when I think of these two is “acceptance”. And for me especially there’s A LOT of comfort in that. I have a lot of fave romances but this one feels really weirdly personal (mayhaps because Isadore is a self-insert) and it makes me giddy in a different way. I can’t explain it, but it’s such a good kind of giddy.

It makes me emotional that these two women, both in a way, pariahs to society, found each other and found love there. A Darktown apostate and a rogue elf. Who would’ve thought. And you know what? They don’t care about what anyone else is saying. They don’t care if people stare or think they’re ridiculous and trashy. Because they know that all those people whispering about the dirty peasant girl and the city elf don’t know how much they love and care about each other.

People have a hard time understanding Sera and I pretty much am on board with her being neurodivergent. Isadore wants to understand and she learns and listens to Sera (which is something people don’t do, because they brush her off). She learns her triggers and ways to calm her down. Sera is afraid of magic, but for Isadore she wants to not be. So she opens herself up a bit and lets herself see good things magic can do - heal, make warmth, help people, and make snow cones. Like Cullen and Imryll, the two of them are pretty drift compatible. By the end they can pretty much know how the other is doing just by giving them looks. They’re in-tune with the other’s needs. They learned to communicate to each other better. 

Also they’re sappy as hell. They hold hands when they’re out on missions and Sera always has her arms wrapped around Isadore or vice versa. They found each other amongst all the taunting and disapproval but none of the other people can take what’s theirs.

ALSO, Sera is taller than Isadore lol, she rides on her shoulders a lot, especially when she has to get things off shelves.
