El Tango De Geralt ~Geralt x Reader angst~
Another song fic for Geralt? Yes of course. "But Mimi nobody asked for this" you say. Doesn't matter, it's giving me brain rot until I produce it. Yes I am into musicals and that's how i keep coming up with these. You're welcome. If you know Moulin Rouge, I would imagine those settings and characters for this one.
That damn woman. Every time she shows up, she ruins everything.That absolute hag. You hated that damn witch. Yennefer of Vengerberg. You didn't see her often but when she did happen to be in the same town as you, it was like you no longer existed to Geralt. You didn't know what hold she had over him but it really pissed you off. Geralt was finally back in town to see you but when she showed up, it was like you were invisible.
You knew something was up when Jaskier came to see you, looking for his witcher companion. You were finishing up the rehearsals on a sensual piece for your cabaret group. You were one of the lead performers at the large burlesque establishment and were well known throughout the country.
You hadn't seen Geralt all morning. You figured he'd wanted to rest after riding all afternoon the day before and then spending that night with you, showing you just how much he had missed you. Setting off in search for him, Jaskier not far behind, you paused when you noticed a familiar black horse tied up at the stables across the road. "Jaskier...that's not her horse, is it?" Jaskier followed your gaze and sighed heavily. "Unfortunately yes..she arrived this morning I believe. That's why I've been trying to find Geralt. I want to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." Jaskier admitted.
Your heart dropped to your stomach and you took off running towards your quarters, praying Geralt was still there. Dread filled you when you found your room empty. You took off again, Jaskier calling out for you when he couldn't keep up. You ignored him and headed back in the direction of your cabaret. Suddenly a familiar smell reached your nose. Lilac and gooseberries...her fucking perfume. You followed the smell until you came to the local baths. You prayed even harder as you searched the building for Geralt. Surely, if he was in here, she would be also.
You rounded a corner and came to a full stop. Your eyes widened in horror as you took in the sight in front of you. Geralt was in one of the large pools...but so was she. Her naked chest was pressed to his, her face inches from his. He made no moves to push her away as her hands ran down his chest. Her lips brushed against his, causing you to let out a choked cry of anger. "Geralt?!" You exclaimed, fury filling you. Geralt seemed to snap out of his trace at the sound of your voice. Surprise made its way onto his face and he moved Yennefer away from him. "Y/N-" he started. But you refused to let him finish. You whirled around just as Jaskier caught up to you. "Ah, finally caught you. Did you find-oh..." He stopped as he took in your anger-filled face and Geralt naked with Yennefer in the background. You pushed past Jaskier, tears stinging your eyes as you ran back to your cabaret.
You made your way inside and immediately were comforted by your dancers. They knew as soon as they saw you what was wrong. "It's okay, honey. He doesn't deserve your tears." One of them, Isa, called over to the men who guarded the doors. "Don't let no Witcher in until Y/N says it's okay." She rubbed your shoulders as you cried. Another one of your girls spoke up. "Listen sweetie, you deserve better. You show that bastard what he's missing and then drop him. He wants some other skank, she can have him. You don't need this."
Wiping your eyes, you realized they were right. Besides, you had a performance tonight and couldn't let this ruin the show. You took a few minutes to calm down and relax and then had everyone prepare for the performance.
As you and the girls were getting ready you heard commotion at the front. As you went out to see what was wrong, Frenchie, one of your male leads, stopped you. "It's him sweetie, he's causin' trouble cause they won't let him in to see you. I don't think you should go out there alone." You smiled softly at him and patted his arm. "Thank you, Frenchie. I'll be alright. I can handle him." You gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek and continued out. You saw one of your guards wiping his bloody lip, three more struggling to hold Geralt. "It's alright, boys. You can let him go." You said, staring coldly at him. He ripped his arms free from their grip and made his way over to you. "Y/N, please let me explain." You held up your hand to stop him. "You have nothing to say to me, Geralt. Clearly you've made your choice. Now, I have a performance to get ready for. I'm sure you and your witch have other things to do." You snapped. Your heart ached to be this cruel to him but you wanted to get over him. You turned back to your guards. "If the Witcher would like to see the performance tonight, he is allowed to enter." "Yes ma'am." They answered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking out of the curtains you saw Geralt in the audience. You sighed, knowing this performance was as good as a goodbye to him. You wanted him to know how much he hurt you and this was going to do just that. The soft guitar played as the dancers moved to their places. As the violins chimed in and the tango began, you made your way onto the stage. Frenchie was singing his part in his signature growl. You met Geralt's golden eyes briefly before taking a breath and beginning your part.
Her eyes upon your face
Her hand upon your hand
Her lips caress your skin
It's more than I can stand
The dancers moved and swayed around you. The audience was staring at you intently, deeply invested in the story you were telling.
Why does my heart cry?
Feelings I can't fight
Geralt watched you, realization and guilt forming on his face as it dawned on him that this performance was about him. You stared hard into his eyes as you sang out your words.
You're free to leave me, but just don't deceive me
And please, believe me when I say I love you
The dancers whirled around you as the music sped up. You held Geralt's gaze the entire time. The fire from the lamps lighting the stage danced in your eyes. You felt the heat from your anger rise in you. Tears fell down your face, your teeth clenched tight. Your hands balled into fists as you belted out.
Why does my heart cry?
Feelings I can't fight
You're free to leave me, but just don't deceive me
And please, believe me when I say I love you
Your choir sang out their anguished cries of your chorus, cementing the anger and hurt of both you and your character. Geralt's eyes never left your face as the music intensified and the chorus cried out the ending of the song.
The audience stood as they erupted into applause. The only one who didn't move was Geralt. You glared coldly at him, tears falling steadily now, before whirling around and disappearing from the stage. You knew he would try to follow you, but you just couldn't....
You never wanted to see him or that damn witch again.
Liber AL vel Legis sub figura CCXX, Cap. 1
The Book of the Law Liber AL vel Legis sub figura CCXX
as delivered by XCIII = 418 to DCLXVI
I
1. Had! The manifestation of Nuit.
2. The unveiling of the company of heaven.
3. Every man and every woman is a star.
4. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
5. Help me, o warrior lord of Thebes, in my unveiling before the Children of men!
6. Be thou Hadit, my secret centre, my heart & my tongue!
7. Behold! it is revealed by Aiwass the minister of Hoor-paar-kraat.
8. The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs.
9. Worship then the Khabs, and behold my light shed over you!
10. Let my servants be few & secret: they shall rule the many & the known.
11. These are fools that men adore; both their Gods & their men are fools.
12. Come forth, o children, under the stars, & take your fill of love!
13. I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy.
14. Above, the gemmed azure is
The naked splendour of Nuit;
She bends in ecstasy to kiss
The secret ardours of Hadit.
The winged globe, the starry blue,
Are mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
15. Now ye shall know that the chosen priest & apostle of infinite space is the prince-priest the Beast; and in his woman called the Scarlet Woman is all power given. They shall gather my children into their fold: they shall bring the glory of the stars into the hearts of men.
16. For he is ever a sun, and she a moon. But to him is the winged secret flame, and to her the stooping starlight.
17. But ye are not so chosen.
18. Burn upon their brows, o splendrous serpent!
19. O azure-lidded woman, bend upon them!
20. The key of the rituals is in the secret word which I have given unto him.
21. With the God & the Adorer I am nothing: they do not see me. They are as upon the earth; I am Heaven, and there is no other God than me, and my lord Hadit.
22. Now, therefore, I am known to ye by my name Nuit, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me. Since I am Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof, do ye also thus. Bind nothing! Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt.
23. But whoso availeth in this, let him be the chief of all!
24. I am Nuit, and my word is six and fifty.
25. Divide, add, multiply, and understand.
26. Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous one: Who am I, and what shall be the sign? So she answered him, bendingdown, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth, & her lithe body arched for love, and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers: Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.
27. Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!
28. None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.
29. For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union.
30. This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.
31. For these fools of men and their woes care not thou at all! They feel little; what is, is balanced by weak joys; but ye are my chosen ones.
32. Obey my prophet! follow out the ordeals of my knowledge! seek me only! Then the joys of my love will redeem ye from all pain. This is so: I swear it by the vault of my body; by my sacred heart and tongue; by all I can give, by all I desire of ye all.
33. Then the priest fell into a deep trance or swoon, & said unto the Queen of Heaven; Write unto us the ordeals; write unto us the rituals; write unto us the law!
34. But she said: the ordeals I write not: the rituals shall be half known and half concealed: the Law is for all.
35. This that thou writest is the threefold book of Law.
36. My scribe Ankh-af-na-khonsu, the priest of the princes, shall not in one letter change this book; but lest there be folly, he shall comment thereupon by the wisdom of Ra-Hoor-Khuit.
37. Also the mantras and spells; the obeah and the wanga; the work of the wand and the work of the sword; these he shall learn and teach.
38. He must teach; but he may make severe the ordeals.
39. The word of the Law is θέλημα.
40. Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Hermit, and the Lover, and the man of Earth. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
41. The word of Sin is Restriction. O man! refuse not thy wife, if she will! O lover, if thou wilt, depart! There is no bond that can unite the divided but love: all else is a curse. Accursed! Accursed be it to the aeons! Hell.
42. Let it be that state of manyhood bound and loathing. So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will.
43. Do that, and no other shall say nay.
44. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
45. The Perfect and the Perfect are one Perfect and not two; nay, are none!
46. Nothing is a secret key of this law. Sixty-one the Jews call it; I call it eight, eighty, four hundred & eighteen.
47. But they have the half: unite by thine art so that all disappear.
48. My prophet is a fool with his one, one, one; are not they the Ox, and none by the Book?
49. Abrogate are all rituals, all ordeals, all words and signs. Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken his seat in the East at the Equinox of the Gods; and let Asar be with Isa, who also are one. But they are not of me. Let Asar be the adorant, Isa the sufferer; Hoor in his secret name and splendour is the Lord initiating.
50. There is a word to say about the Hierophantic task. Behold! there are three ordeals in one, and it may be given in three ways. The gross must pass through fire; let the fine be tried in intellect, and the lofty chosen ones in the highest. Thus ye have star & star, system & system; let not one know well the other!
51. There are four gates to one palace; the floor of that palace is of silver and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are there; and all rare scents; jasmine & rose, and the emblems of death. Let him enter in turn or at once the four gates; let him stand on the floor of the palace. Will he not sink? Amn. Ho! warrior, if thy servant sink? But there are means and means. Be goodly therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when, where and with whom ye will! But always unto me.
52. If this be not aright; if ye confound the space-marks, saying: They are one; or saying, They are many; if the ritual be not ever unto me: then expect the direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
53. This shall regenerate the world, the little world my sister, my heart & my tongue, unto whom I send this kiss. Also, o scribe and prophet, though thou be of the princes, it shall not assuage thee nor absolve thee. But ecstasy be thine and joy of earth: ever To me! To me!
54. Change not as much as the style of a letter; for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.
55. The child of thy bowels, he shall behold them.
56. Expect him not from the East, nor from the West; for from no expected house cometh that child. Aum! All words are sacred and all prophets true; save only that they understand a little; solve the first half of the equation, leave the second unattacked. But thou hast all in the clear light, and some, though not all, in the dark.
57. Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen, knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the House of God.
All these old letters of my Book are aright; but צ is not the Star. This also is secret: my prophet shall reveal it to the wise.
58. I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.
59. My incense is of resinous woods & gums; and there is no blood therein: because of my hair the trees of Eternity.
60. My number is 11, as all their numbers who are of us. The Five Pointed Star, with a Circle in the Middle, & the circle is Red. My colour is black to the blind, but the blue & gold are seen of the seeing. Also I have a secret glory for them that love me.
61. But to love me is better than all things: if under the night stars in the desert thou presently burnest mine incense before me, invoking me with a pure heart, and the Serpent flame therein, thou shalt come a little to lie in my bosom. For one kiss wilt thou then be willing to give all; but whoso gives one particle of dust shall lose all in that hour. Ye shall gather goods and store of women and spices; ye shall wear rich jewels; ye shall exceed the nations of the earth in spendour & pride; but always in the love of me, and so shall ye come to my joy. I charge you earnestly to come before me in a single robe, and covered with a rich headdress. I love you! I yearn to you! Pale or purple, veiled or voluptuous, I who am all pleasure and purple, and drunkenness of the innermost sense, desire you. Put on the wings, and arouse the coiled splendour within you: come unto me!
62. At all my meetings with you shall the priestess say -- and her eyes shall burn with desire as she stands bare and rejoicing in my secret temple -- To me! To me! calling forth the flame of the hearts of all in her love-chant.
63. Sing the rapturous love-song unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear to me jewels! Drink to me, for I love you! I love you!
64. I am the blue-lidded daughter of Sunset; I am the naked brilliance of the voluptuous night-sky.
65. To me! To me!
66. The Manifestation of Nuit is at an end.
Love is the law, love under will.
Red Roses
Day four of the EOA Ship Appreciation Week on Discord. I really appreciate this challenge so far, as it’s just giving me reason to flush out my new favorite ship XD todays theme was music/favorite ship, so more Isabel x Quique ❤️
—
Isabel was bored. Nursing a fluke of soft champagne, a heavy sigh escaped her lips. Of course she loved to support Elena as Queen of Avalor, but at the same time, being cooped up in the palace after an entire year in the vast spaces of Cordoba felt somewhat burdensome.
Dressed down in a simple turquoise bell dress, Isa made sure no one important saw the drink in her hand as she mindlessly twirled a ringlet around a finger. Her eyes watched Gabe and Naomi float easily across the dance floor. They both looked content, Naomi proudly sporting the baby bump which would eventually become a new addition to their little household. Eyes drifting again through the bodies, Elena was sitting on the steps of the throne. Baby Vista sat in her lap, looking almost as bored as Isa felt.
Mateo was doing his best to entertain the baby with his magical Jaquin trick, but the half Sirena girl apparently wasn’t so easily amused. Clucking her tongue in humor, Isa downed the rest of her champagne in one go. Of course she had drank her weight while away, but Elena certainly didn’t need to know that; neither did Gabe, who was almost as unnecessarily overprotective as her sister.
Handing the cup to a passing hand, Isa shivered suddenly as a presence suddenly appeared by her side. Fearing a nobleman wanting a dance, she slowly turned only only gasp as her wrist was grabbed and she was pulled out the nearby balcony doors. Stumbling awkwardly for a moment, she eventually came to rest in strong arms.
“Quique?”
“Hola, chica.”
Staring up at the boy, he had a snarky look on his face, like he had just pulled off the most amazing prank. Hitting his chest lightly with a scoff, Isabel pulled away.
“Don’t do that. I could have screamed, and you’d be in jail.”
“Oh come on, don’t get your dress tied into knots.” Smirking still, Isabel couldn’t help the smile which flicked onto her lips.
“What are you doing here anyway? I told you I was busy tonight.” Placing both hands on her hips to appear more cross then she was, Quique responded in kind, dwarfing her small frame with his broad one.
“Oh yeah. Real busy hogging the champagne and warding off possible dance partners.”
“You’ve never been to a Royal event, obviously.” Shaking her head with an exaggerated eye roll, Isa couldn’t help but chuckle, “so what do you need?”
“You.”
“What?” Tipping her head to one side, Quique motioned to himself, “I am your date tonight. And we are going dancing.”
“Are we?” Isa challenged, lifting a fine brow, “we can dance here.”
“Nah. This isn’t where the party’s at.” Waving his hands in faux irritation, the young man motioned downwards, “the party is down there. This? This is boring,”
“Can’t argue your logic on that one.” Isa admitted l dryly, “alright. What do you suggest? We can’t just walk out the front doors.”
“When have we ever done that?” Quique questioned, “come on, we’re going over the wall.”
Pulling her to the balcony’s edge, a long rope dangled down to the grass.
“Did you climb all the way up here to get me?”
“Sí, Princessa. Aren’t I romantic? Now are you going to come willingly, or will I have to carry you?”
“I’m offended that you think I’m some damsel who can simply be picked up and wisked away.” Isabel scoffed, unable to keep the laugh behind her teeth. Nodding to the rope in challenge, Isabel stuck out her tongue as she flipped over the balcony edge, curling her foot in the rope’s thick embrace as she slid down with ease. This left brown scuff marks on her shoes, but it didn’t hurt Isabel’s feelings any as Quique zipped down after her, his long dreads waving in the breeze.
Unhooking the rope as it fell down to earth, Quique caught it and grabbed Isabel’s hand, pulling her to the wall. Scaling it as she had done dozens of times before, Quique’s horse was waiting on the other side, grazing mindlessly.
“After you,”
“Shut up.”
Smacking the boy’s chest with the back of her hand, Isabel mounted side saddle, Quique’s large arms coming to rest around her sides as he took the reigns. Close to him, Isa could smell the hint of dust still on his skin from being out all day, and see the worked muscles of his neck as they flexed. The young princess kissed him quickly, smiling as though she had stolen something important. Quique smiled right back, the two of them galloping away from the palace and towards town.
Isabel almost wished the ride was longer, as she loved the feeling of being cradled against a strong chest. But as they trotted into the square, it was alight with life. The air smelled of baking and flower perfumes, a small mariachi group playing music. Couples in their Sunday best danced and whirled across the cobblestone, laughing as they were passed from one partner to the next. It made Isabel’s heart leap with excitement.
“Told you the party was better down here.” Quique joked, allowing his horse to stand at the water trough as they dismounted, “now, you’re my date. So how bout a dance?”
“Please.”
Feeling the boy take her hand, Isabel’s smile wouldn’t fade as they entered the fray. It was magical, being twisted and spun so easily. Isa almost wished she wore a larger skirt, as she felt free and wild.
It was several songs before Quique pulled her aside, towards a small stand where a woman was giving flowers.
“Wait here, chica. I’ll be right back.”
Nodding and partially grateful for the break, the woman behind the flowers smiled softly.
“Ah niñita. A red rose for you.”
“What for? I have no money, señora.”
“From me to you. For a woman in love. Tuck it behind your ear for luck.”
Taking the flower, Isabel gladly did as the woman said. As she did, Quique returned to her looking smart, but also quite soft.
“That looks nice on you.” He complemented, “come on, one more dance.”
Nodding, Isa gladly let herself be led out. This time, they went straight to the middle of the square. Softly, one of the band members began to strum on an acoustic. The music was slow, and reminded Isabel of her late grandfather as Quique gently rocked them back and forth, twirling her round carefully, but keeping her only a finger length away. Isabel was completely taken by the song, her eyes stinging with memories and love. She was dipped down, her hair brushing the stones. Upon return Quique reached up and undid her ribbon, allowing the chestnut waves to fall down her shoulders and back.
Out here, there was no stuffy party or nobleman wanting a dance. There was no wall just outside keeping her in. She was free and young, and so desperately in love that it hurt. Not realizing she was crying, Quique used a thumb to wipe it away.
“Are you happy, amore.” He whispered into her ear, the voice deep and soft as she shivered in delight and nodded.
“Yes. Kiss me?”
Spinning her around again, neither teen cared they had an audience as Quique gladly took hold of her hips, pulling her close as their lips met. And as the music pulled them deeper into love and tenderness, Isabel smiled as she remembered the flower in her hair.
Maybe she’d wear them more often.
An-Nur Ayah:31
(31. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts and not to show off their adornment except that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over their Juyub and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their women, or their right hand possessions, or the Tabi`in among men who do not have desire, or children who are not aware of the nakedness of women. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.)
The Rulings of Hijab
This is a command from Allah to the believing women, and jealousy on His part over the wives of His believing servants. It is also to distinguish the believing women from the women of the Jahiliyyah and the deeds of the pagan women. The reason for the revelation of this Ayah was mentioned by Muqatil bin Hayyan, when he said: “We heard – and Allah knows best – that Jabir bin `Abdullah Al-Ansari narrated that Asma’ bint Murshidah was in a house of hers in Bani Harithah, and the women started coming in to her without lower garments so that the anklets on their feet could be seen, along with their chests and forelocks. Asma’ said: `How ugly this is!’ Then Allah revealed:
(And tell the believing women to lower their gaze…)” And Allah says:
(And tell the believing women to lower their gaze) meaning, from that which Allah has forbidden them to look at, apart from their husbands. ﴿Some﴾ scholars said that it is permissible for women to look at non-Mahram men without desire, as it was recorded in the Sahih that the Messenger of Allah was watching the Ethiopians playing with spears in the Masjid on the day of `Id, and `A'ishah the Mother of the believers was watching them from behind him and he was concealing her from them, until she got bored and went away.
(and protect their private parts). Sa`id bin Jubayr said: “From immoral actions.” Abu Al-`Aliyah said: “Every Ayah of the Qur'an in which protecting the private parts is mentioned means protecting them from Zina, except for this Ayah –
(and protect their private parts), which means protecting them from being seen by anybody.”
(and not to show off their adornment except that which is apparent,) means, they should not show anything of their adornment to non-Mahram men except for whatever it is impossible to hide. Ibn Mas`ud said: “Such as clothes and outer garments,” Meaning what the Arab women used to wear of the veil which covered their clothes and whatever showed from underneath the outer garment. There is no blame on her for this, because this is something that she cannot conceal. Similar to that is what appears of her lower garment and what she cannot conceal. Al-Hasan, Ibn Sirin, Abu Al-Jawza’, Ibrahim An-Nakha`i and others also had the same view as Ibn Mas`ud.
(and to draw their veils all over their Juyub) means that they should wear the outer garment in such a way as to cover their chests and ribs, so that they will be different from the women of the Jahiliyyah, who did not do that but would pass in front of men with their chests completely uncovered, and with their necks, forelocks, hair and earrings uncovered. So Allah commanded the believing women to cover themselves, as He says:
(O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known, so as not to be annoyed) ﴿33:59﴾ And in this noble Ayah He said:
(and to draw their (Khumur) veils all over their Juyub) Khumur (veils) is the plural of Khimar, which means something that covers, and is what is used to cover the head. This is what is known among the people as a veil. Sa`id bin Jubayr said:
(and to draw) means to pull it around and tie it securely.
(their veils all over their Juyub) means, over their necks and chests so that nothing can be seen of them. Al-Bukhari recorded that `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: “May Allah have mercy on the women of the early emigrants. When Allah revealed the Ayah:
(and to draw their veils all over their Juyub), they tore their aprons and Akhtamar themselves with them.” He also narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, used to say: “When this Ayah:
(and to draw their veils all over their Juyub) was revealed, they took their Izars (waistsheets) and tore them at the edges, and Akhtamar themselves with them.”
(and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons,) All of these are a woman’s close relatives whom she can never marry (Mahram) and it is permissible for her to show her adornments to them, but without making a wanton display of herself. Ibn Al-Mundhir recorded that `Ikrimah commented on this Ayah,
(and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers…), “The paternal uncle and maternal uncle are not mentioned here, because they may describe a woman to their sons, so a woman should not remove her Khimar in front of her paternal or maternal uncle.’‘With regard to the husband, all of this is for his sake, so she should try her best when adorning herself for him, unlike the way she should appear in front of others.
(or their women,) this means that she may also wear her adornment in front of other Muslim women, but not in front of the women of Ahl Adh-Dhimmah (Jewish and Christian women), lest they describe her to their husbands. This is prohibited for all women, but more so in the case of the women of Ahl Adh-Dhimmah, because there is nothing to prevent them from doing that, but Muslim women know that it is unlawful and so, would be deterred from doing it. The Messenger of Allah said:
(No woman should describe another woman to her husband so that it is as if he is looking at her.) It was recorded in the Two Sahihs from Ibn Mas`ud.
(or their right hand possessions. ) Ibn Jarir said, "This means from among the women of the idolators. It is permissible for a Muslim woman to reveal her adornment before such a woman, even if she is an idolatress, because she is her slave-girl.” This was also the view of Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib. Allah says;
(Tabi`in among men who do not have desire,) such as hired servants and followers who are not at the same level as the woman and are feeble-minded and have no interest in or desire for women. Ibn `Abbas said, “This is the kind of person who has no desire.” `Ikrimah said, “This is the hermaphrodite, who does not experience erections.” This was also the view of others among the Salaf. It was narrated in the Sahih from `A'ishah that a hermaphrodite, used to enter upon the family of the Messenger of Allah and they used to consider him as one of those who do not have desire, but then the Messenger of Allah came in when he was describing a woman with four rolls of fat in front and eight behind. The Messenger of Allah said,
(Lo! I think this person knows what is they are; he should never enter upon you.) He expelled him, and he stayed in Al-Bayda’ and only came on Fridays to get food.
(or children who are not aware of the nakedness of women. ) Because they are so young they do not understand anything about women or their `Awrah or their soft speech or their enticing ways of walking and moving. If a child is small and does not understand that, there is nothing wrong with him entering upon women, but if he is an adolescent or approaching adolescence, so that he knows and understands these things, and can make a distinction between who is beautiful and who is not, then he should not enter upon women. It was recorded in the Two Sahihs that the Messenger of Allah said:
(Avoid entering upon women.) It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about the male in-laws” He said:
(The male in-law is death.)
The Etiquette of Women walking in the Street
Allah’s saying:
(And let them not stamp their feet…) During Jahiliyyah, when women walked in the street wearing anklets and no one could hear them, they would stamp their feet so that men could hear their anklets ringing. Allah forbade the believing women to do this. By the same token, if there is any other kind of adornment that is hidden, women are forbidden to make any movements that would reveal what is hidden, because Allah says:
(And let them not stamp their feet…) to the end of it. From that, women are also prohibited from wearing scent and perfume when they are going outside the home, lest men should smell their perfume. Abu `Isa At-Tirmidhi recorded that Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet said:
(Every eye commits fornication and adultery, and when a woman puts on perfume and passes through a gathering, she is such and such) – meaning an adulteress. He said, “And there is a similar report from Abu Hurayrah, and this is Hasan Sahih.” It was also recorded by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i. By the same token, women are also forbidden to walk in the middle of the street, because of what this involves of wanton display. Abu Dawud recorded that Abu Usayd Al-Ansari said that he heard the Messenger of Allah , as he was coming out of the Masjid and men and women were mixing in the street, telling the women:
(Keep back, for you have no right to walk in the middle of the street. You should keep to the sides of the road.) The women used to cling to the walls so much that their clothes would catch on the walls.
(And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.) means, practice what you are commanded in these beautiful manners and praiseworthy characteristics, and give up the evil ways of the people of Jahiliyyah, for the greatest success is to be found in doing what Allah and His Messenger command and avoiding what He forbids. And Allah is the source of strength.
Had! The 🤣 manifestation of Nuit.
The 🤘 unveiling of the 🤘 company of heaven. 👼
Every man 👨🔧 and every woman 👱♀️ is a star. *️⃣
Every number 6️⃣ is infinite; there is no 👎 difference.
Help 🆘 me, o warrior lord 👑 of Thebes, in my 😊 unveiling before the 🤘 Children 👨👦👦 of men! ♂️♂️♂️
Be thou Hadit, my 😊 secret 😉 centre, my 😊 heart 💜 & my 😊 tongue! 😛
Behold! it is revealed by Aiwass the 🤘 minister of Hoor-paar-kraat.
The 🤣 Khabs is in the 🤣 Khu, not ⏳ the 🤘 Khu in the 🤘 Khabs.
Worship 🕌🛐 then the 🤘 Khabs, and behold my 😀 light 🚦💡🔆 shed over 🤭 you! 🤟
Let my 😊😊😊 servants be few & secret: ㊙️ they 👩👩👦👦 shall rule 🚷 the 🤣🤣🤣 many & the 🤘 known.
These are 👉 fools that men 🤼♂️ adore; both their Gods & their men ♂️ are 👉 fools.
Come forth, o children, 👨👨👦 under 🔞 the 🤣 stars, 🌌🎇 & take your fill of love! ❤️
I 😀 am above 🆙 you 😊 and in you. 😀 My 😊 ecstasy is in yours. My 😀 joy 😊 is to see 👁️ your joy. 😊
Above, 🆙 the 🤘 gemmèd azure is
The 🤣 naked splendour of Nuit;
She 💁♀️ bends in ecstasy to kiss 😗😚
The 🤣🤣🤣 secret 😉 ardours of Hadit.
The 🤣 wingèd globe, 🌐 the 🤣 starry 🤩 blue, 🔽
Are 👉 mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
Now ye ☑️ shall know that the 🤘 chosen priest & apostle of infinite space 👨🚀 is the 🤘 prince-priest 🤴 the 🤘 Beast; and in his 🐍 woman 👰 called 🤙 the 🤣 Scarlet Woman 👩❤️💋👨 is all power 🔌 given. They 👩👩👦👦👩👩👦👦👩👩👦👦 shall gather my 😀 children 👩👩👦👨👦👦 into their fold: 🙏 they 👩👩👦👦 shall bring the 🤣 glory of the 🤘 stars ⭐ into the 🤣 hearts 😻 of men. 🚹
For 🈺 he 💁♂️ is ever a sun, 🌦️ and she 💁♀️ a moon. 🌚 But 😥😥😥 to him is the 🤣 winged secret ㊙️ flame, 🔥 and to her 💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️ the 🤣 stooping starlight.
But 😥 ye ☑️ are 👉 not ⏳ so 🆘 chosen.
Burn upon their brows, 🥸 o splendrous serpent!
O azure-lidded woman, 👩 bend upon them!
The 🤣 key 🗝️ of the 🤣 rituals is in the 🤘 secret ㊙️ word 🆑 which I 😀 have 🈶 given unto him.
With the 🤣 God & the 🤣 Adorer 🥰 I 😊 am nothing: 🈶 they 👩👩👦👦 do not 🈶 see 🙈👀 me. They 👩👩👦👦 are 👉 as upon the 🤣 earth; I 😊 am Heaven, 👼 and there is no 🙉 other God than me, and my 😊 lord 👑 Hadit.
Now, therefore, I 😀 am known to ye 🉑 by my 😊😊😊 name 📛 Nuit, and to him by a secret 🔏 name 📛 which I 😊 will give him when at last ⏮️ he 💁♂️ knoweth me. Since I 😊 am Infinite Space, 🌚 and the 🤘 Infinite Stars ✡️ thereof, do ye ☑️ also thus. Bind nothing! ⏳ Let there be no 🇳🇴 difference made among you 🤟 between any one 🔞 thing 🤣 & any other thing; for 🈺 thereby there cometh hurt. 🩸
But 😥 whoso availeth in this, let him be the 🤣🤣🤣 chief of all!
I 😀 am Nuit, and my 😀 word 🆚 is six 🕕🔯 and fifty.
Divide, 🈹 add, multiply, ✖️ and understand.
Then saith the 🤣 prophet and slave of the 🤘 beauteous one: 🩱🔞🕜 Who am I, 😀 and what 😦😦😦 shall be the 🤘 sign?  So 🆘 she 💁♀️ answered ✅ him, bending down, ↘️ a lambent flame 🔥 of blue, 🔀 all-touching, all penetrant, her 💁♂️ lovely hands 👈👬 upon the 🤣 black ⚫ earth, 🌐 & her 💁♂️ lithe body arched for 🔰🔰🔰 love, 💚 and her 💁♂️ soft 🍦 feet 🚶♀️ not ⏳ hurting 🩸 the 🤣 little flowers: 🌼 Thou knowest! And the 🤘 sign 💲 shall be my 😊 ecstasy, the 🤘 consciousness of the 🤘 continuity of existence, the 🤣 omnipresence of my 😊 body.
Then the 🤣 priest answered ✅ & said unto the 🤣 Queen 👸 of Space, 👩🚀🌕 kissing 😗 her 💁♂️ lovely brows, 🥸🥸🥸 and the 🤘 dew of her 💁♂️ light 💡 bathing ♨️ his 🐍 whole body in a sweet-smelling 🍯 perfume of sweat: 😓 O Nuit, continuous one 🕐 of Heaven, 👼 let it be ever thus; that men 🙆♂️ speak 🙊 not 🈶 of Thee as One 🩱 but 😥😥😥 as None; and let them speak 🙊 not 🈶 of thee at all, since thou art 🎭 continuous!
None, breathed the 🤘 light, 🪔🚨 faint & færy, of the 🤣 stars, ⭐ and two. ✌️
For 🔰 I 😊😊😊 am divided for 🔰 love’s sake, 🍶 for 🈺 the 🤣 chance of union. 🇪🇺
This is the 🤣 creation of the 🤣 world, 🌎 that the 🤣 pain of division is as nothing, 🈚 and the 🤘 joy 😊 of dissolution all.
For 🔰 these fools of men 🙆♂️ and their woes care 🫂 not 🈶 thou at all! They 💁 feel little; what 😦 is, is balanced by weak joys; but 😥 ye 👍 are 👉 my 😊 chosen ones. 🕜
Obey my 😊 prophet! follow out 😵 the 🤘 ordeals of my 😊 knowledge! 📗 seek me only! Then the 🤣 joys 😂😊 of my 😊 love 💌 will redeem ye ✔️ from 😤 all pain. This is so: 🆘 I 😀 swear 🤬 it by the 🤣 vault of my 😀 body; by my 😊 sacred heart 👩❤️👨 and tongue; by all I 😀 can give, by all I 😊 desire of ye 🆗 all.
Then the 🤘 priest fell into a deep trance or swoon, & said unto the 🤣 Queen 👸👸👸 of Heaven; Write 📝 unto us the 🤘 ordeals; write ✏️ unto us the 🤘 rituals; write 📝 unto us the 🤣 law! 🚨
But 😥 she 💁♀️ said: the 🤘 ordeals I 😀 write ✒️ not: ⏳ the 🤣 rituals shall be half known and half concealed: the 🤣 Law 🧑⚖️👮♂️©️ is for 🈺 all.
This that thou writest is the 🤘 threefold book 📙 of Law. ©️
My 😀 scribe Ankh-af-na-khonsu, the 🤣 priest of the 🤘 princes, 🤴 shall not 🈶 in one 🔞 letter 🅰️ change this book; but 😥 lest there be folly, he 💁♂️ shall comment thereupon by the 🤘 wisdom of Ra-Hoor-Khu-it.
Also the 🤣 mantras and spells; the 🤘 obeah and the 🤣 wanga; the 🤣 work 🏢 of the 🤣 wand 🪄🪄🪄 and the 🤣 work 🏢 of the 🤘 sword; these he 💁♂️ shall learn 🎓 and teach. 🏫
He 💁♂️ must teach; but 😥 he 💁♂️ may make severe the 🤘 ordeals.
The 🤘 word 🔜 of the 🤘 Law ⚖️ is Θελημα.
Who calls 🤙 us Thelemites will do no 🙅♂️🚳😣 wrong, if he 💁♂️ look 👁️ but 😥 close into the 🤘 word. 💬🆘 For 🔰 there are 👉 therein Three 🕞 Grades, 🈴 the 🤘 Hermit, and the 🤣 Lover, 😻 and the 🤣 man 💆♂️ of Earth. 🌐🌐🌐 Do what 😦 thou wilt 🥀 shall be the 🤣 whole of the 🤘 Law. 👮♂️
The 🤘 word 🔝 of Sin is Restriction. O man! 🧛♂️ refuse not 🈶 thy wife, if she 💁♀️ will! O lover, 🥰 if thou wilt, 🥀 depart! There is no 🚳 bond that can unite the 🤘 divided but 😥 love: 💛👨👩👦 all else is a curse. Accursèd! Accursèd be it to the 🤣 æons! Hell.
Let it be that state 🇫🇲 of manyhood bound and loathing. So 🆘 with thy all; thou hast no 🙅♀️🙈🙅♀️🙈🙅♀️🙈 right 🤜 but 😥 to do thy will.
Do that, and no 🚷 other shall say 🗣️ nay.
For 🈺 pure 🤍 will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from 😤 the 🤘 lust of result, is every way 🌌 perfect. 👌
The 🤘 Perfect 👌 and the 🤘 Perfect 💯 are 👉 one 🔞 Perfect 💯 and not ⏳ two; nay, are 👉 none!
Nothing 🈚 is a secret 😉 key 🔑🗝️ of this law. 🧑⚖️ Sixty-one 🕐🩱 the 🤣🤣🤣 Jews call 🤙 it; I 😊 call 🤙 it eight, 🕗 eighty, four 🕓 hundred 💯 & eighteen. 🔞
But 😥 they 👩👩👦👦 have 🈶 the 🤘 half: unite by thine art 🎭 so 🆘 that all disappear.
My 😊 prophet is a fool with his 🐍 one, 🕐 one, 🩱 one; are 👉 not ⏳ they 👩👩👦👦 the 🤘 Ox, and none by the 🤣 Book? 📖
Abrogate are 👉 all rituals, all ordeals, all words 🔠 and signs. ♏♏♏ Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken his 🐍 seat 💺 in the 🤘 East 🌏🌏🌏 at the 🤣 Equinox of the 🤣 Gods; and let Asar be with Isa, who also are 👉 one. 🩱 But 😥 they 💁 are 👉 not ⏳ of me. Let Asar be the 🤣 adorant, Isa the 🤣 sufferer; Hoor in his 🐍 secret ㊙️😉🔏 name 📛 and splendour is the 🤘 Lord 👑 initiating.
There is a word 🗨️ to say 🗣️ about the 🤘 Hierophantic task. Behold! there are 👉 three 🕞 ordeals in one, 🩱 and it may be given in three 🕞 ways. 🌌🌌🌌 The 🤣 gross 🤢 must pass 🈴 through fire; let the 🤘 fine be tried in intellect, and the 🤣 lofty chosen ones 🕜🔞 in the 🤘 highest. Thus ye ✔️🉑 have 🈶 star ✡️🌟*️⃣🌌 & star, 🎇💫 system & system; let not ⏳ one 🕜🕐 know well the 🤘 other!
There are 👉 four 🕟🕓 gates to one 🕜🩱 palace; the 🤣 floor 🤣 of that palace is of silver and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are 👉 there; and all rare scents; jasmine & rose, 🌹 and the 🤣🤣🤣 emblems 🔱 of death. 💀 Let him enter ↩️ in turn or at once the 🤣 four 🍀 gates; let him stand 🧍🧍🧍 on the 🤘 floor 🤣 of the 🤣 palace. Will he 💁♂️ not 🈶 sink? Amn. Ho! warrior, if thy servant sink? But 😥 there are 👉 means 😏 and means. 😏 Be goodly therefore: dress 🥻🥻🥻 ye 🉑 all in fine apparel; eat 🍽️ rich 🤑 foods 🧑🍳 and drink 🍸 sweet 🧁 wines 🍇 and wines 🥂 that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love 💏 as ye ☑️ will, when, where and with whom ye 👍🉑 will! But 😥 always unto me.
If this be not 🈶 aright; if ye ☑️ confound 😖 the 🤘 space-marks, ✔️ saying: 🗣️ They 👩👩👦👦 are 👉 one; or saying, 🗣️ They 💁 are 👉 many; if the 🤘 ritual be not 🈶 ever unto me: then expect the 🤘 direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
This shall regenerate the 🤣 world, 🌍🌎🌍🌎🌍🌎 the 🤣 little world 🗺️ my 😊 sister, my 😀 heart 🥰 & my 😀 tongue, 😜 unto whom I 😊 send this kiss. 😘 Also, o scribe and prophet, though thou be of the 🤣 princes, 🤴 it shall not 🈶 assuage thee nor absolve thee. But 😥 ecstasy be thine and joy 😁 of earth: 🌐 ever To me! To me!
Change not ⏳ as much as the 🤘 style 💈 of a letter; for 🔰 behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not 🈶 behold all these mysteries hidden therein.
The 🤣 child 👪 of thy bowels, he 💁♂️ shall behold them.
Expect him not ⏳ from 😤 the 🤘 East, 🌏 nor from 😤 the 🤣 West; for 🈺 from 😤 no 🇳🇴 expected house 🪴🪴🪴 cometh that child. 🚼 Aum! All words 🔠🆕 are 👉 sacred and all prophets true; save 📑📑📑 only that they 💁 understand a little; solve the 🤣 first 🌛🌓 half of the 🤘 equation, leave 🍂 the 🤘 second 🥈 unattacked. But 😥😥😥 thou hast all in the 🤘 clear light, 🏮 and some, though not 🈶 all, in the 🤣 dark. 🔦
Invoke me under 🔞 my 😊 stars! ✳️ Love 💘 is the 🤘 law, 👮♂️ love 💝 under 🔞 will. Nor let the 🤣 fools mistake love; for 🔰 there are 👉 love 💓😚💑💓😚💑💓😚💑 and love. 🥰 There is the 🤣 dove, 🕊️ and there is the 🤣🤣🤣 serpent. Choose ye 👍 well! He, 💁♂️ my 😀 prophet, hath chosen, knowing the 🤘 law ⚖️ of the 🤘 fortress, and the 🤘 great 🇬🇧 mystery of the 🤘 House 🚪 of God.
All these old 🗝️ letters Ⓜ️ of my 😊 Book 📚 are 👉 aright; but 😥 צ is not 🈶 the 🤣 Star. 🌌✨ This also is secret: 🤐 my 😀😀😀 prophet shall reveal it to the 🤘 wise.
I 😀 give unimaginable joys 😄 on earth: 🌐 certainty, not ⏳ faith, while in life, 🧬 upon death; peace ✌️ unutterable, rest, 🛌 ecstasy; nor do I 😀 demand aught in sacrifice.
My 😀 incense is of resinous woods 🪵 & gums; and there is no 🙊 blood 🧛 therein: because of my 😊 hair 👱 the 🤣 trees 🌴 of Eternity.
My 😀 number 🔟 is 11, as all their numbers 🔢🔢🔢 who are 👉 of us. The 🤘 Five 🕠 Pointed ↖️ Star, ✴️ with a Circle ©️ in the 🤘 Middle, 🖕 & the 🤣 circle ⚪ is Red. ⭕ My 😊 colour is black 🖤 to the 🤣 blind, 🧑🦯🦮 but 😥 the 🤣 blue 💙 & gold are 👉 seen of the 🤘 seeing. 👀🙈 Also I 😊 have 🈶 a secret 🤐 glory for 🔰 them that love ❣️ me.
But 😥 to love 💟 me is better 🎰 than all things: if under 🔞 the 🤘 night  stars 🌃 in the 🤣 desert 🏝️ thou presently burnest mine incense before me, invoking me with a pure 🤍 heart, 👩❤️👩 and the 🤣 Serpent flame 🔥 therein, thou shalt come a little to lie 🤥🤥🤥 in my 😊 bosom. For 🈺 one 🕐🩱🕜 kiss 👩❤️💋👩😽💏 wilt 🥀 thou then be willing to give all; but 😥 whoso gives one 🩱 particle of dust shall lose all in that hour. Ye 👍 shall gather goods 🤞🤞🤞 and store 🏬 of women 👭 and spices; ye 🉑 shall wear 👳♀️👳 rich 🤑 jewels; ye 👍 shall exceed the 🤣 nations 🇬🇸 of the 🤣 earth 🌐 in splendour & pride; but 😥 always in the 🤣 love 💞💒 of me, and so 🆘 shall ye 🆗 come to my 😀 joy. 😹 I 😊 charge 🈶 you 🤟 earnestly to come before me in a single 🔂 robe, and covered 📔 with a rich 🤑 headdress. 👳 I 😀 love 💒👨❤️👨 you! 😀 I 😊 yearn to you! 😊 Pale or purple, 🟪 veiled 👰♀️👰♂️👰♀️👰♂️👰♀️👰♂️ or voluptuous, I 😊 who am all pleasure and purple, 🟣 and drunkenness of the 🤘 innermost sense, desire you. 🤟 Put on the 🤘 wings, 💸 and arouse the 🤘 coiled splendour within you: 🤟 come unto me!
At all my 😀 meetings with you 😀🤟😀🤟😀🤟 shall the 🤘 priestess say—and her 💁♂️ eyes 😉 shall burn with desire as she 💁♀️ stands bare and rejoicing in my 😊 secret 🔏 temple—To me! To me! calling 🤙🤙🤙 forth the 🤘 flame 🔥 of the 🤣 hearts 🧡 of all in her 💁♂️ love-chant. ❣️
Sing 🎙️ the 🤘 rapturous love-song 🧑🎤 unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear 👳♀️👳 to me jewels! 🔸💠 Drink 🍻 to me, for 🈺 I 😀 love 👨👩👦 you! 😊 I 😀 love 💏 you! 🤟
Nu! the 🤘 hiding of Hadit.
Come! all ye, 🆗☑️ and learn 📖 the 🤘 secret ㊙️ that hath not 🈶 yet been revealed. I, 😀 Hadit, am the 🤣 complement of Nu, my 😀 bride. 👰 I 😀 am not ⏳ extended, and Khabs is the 🤣 name 📛 of my 😊 House. 🛖🏚️
In the 🤣 sphere I 😊 am everywhere the 🤣 centre, as she, 💁♀️ the 🤣 circumference, is nowhere found.
Yet she 💁♀️ shall be known & I 😊 never.
Behold! the 🤘 rituals of the 🤘 old 👨🦳 time 🕥 are 👉 black. ⬛ Let the 🤣 evil 🦹♂️ ones 🔞 be cast away; let the 🤣 good ✨❇️ ones 🕜🕐 be purged by the 🤘 prophet! Then shall this Knowledge 📖 go aright.
I 😀 am the 🤣 flame 🔥 that burns in every heart 👨❤️👨 of man, 👨🦯 and in the 🤘 core of every star. ✨ I 😊 am Life, 🧬 and the 🤣 giver of Life, 🧬 yet therefore is the 🤣 knowledge 📕 of me the 🤘 knowledge 📕 of death. ☠️
I 😊 am the 🤘 Magician and the 🤘🤘🤘 Exorcist. I 😀 am the 🤣 axle of the 🤣 wheel, 🎡 and the 🤣 cube in the 🤘🤘🤘 circle. ®️ «Come unto me» is a foolish word: 🆔 for 🈺 it is I 😊 that go.
Who worshipped Heru-pa-kraath have 🈶 worshipped me; ill, 😷 for 🔰 I 😀 am the 🤣 worshipper. 🕍
Remember all ye 🉑 that existence is pure 🤍 joy; that all the 🤘 sorrows are 👉 but 😥 as shadows; they 👩👩👦👦 pass 🈴 & are 👉 done; but 😥 there is that which remains.
Now let there be a veiling 👰♂️ of this shrine: ⛩️ now let the 🤘 light 🚈🔆 devour men 🚹🚹🚹 and eat 🍽️ them up with blindness!
For 🔰 I 😊 am perfect, 👌 being Not; and my 😀 number 4️⃣ is nine 🕤 by the 🤣 fools; but 😥 with the 🤘 just I 😊 am eight, 🕣 and one 🔞🕜🕐 in eight: 🕣 Which is vital, for 🔰 I 😀 am none indeed. The 🤘 Empress and the 🤘 King 👑 are 👉 not ⏳ of me; for 🈺 there is a further secret. ㊙️
There is great 🇬🇧 danger ☢️☠️ in me; for 🔰 who doth not 🈶 understand these runes shall make a great 🇬🇧 miss. He 💁♂️ shall fall 🌻 down ↙️⬇️ into the 🤘 pit called 🤙 Because, and there he 💁♂️ shall perish with the 🤣🤣🤣 dogs 🐕🦺 of Reason.
Now a curse upon Because and his 🐍 kin!
May Because be accursèd for 🔰 ever!
If Will stops ⏹️⛔ and cries 🥲 Why, invoking Because, then Will stops 🚫 & does nought.
If Power 🪄 asks why, then is Power 🔋 weakness.
Also reason is a lie; for 🔰 there is a factor infinite & unknown; & all their words 🔜 are 👉 skew-wise.
Enough of Because! Be he 💁♂️ damned for 🈺 a dog! 🌭
But 😥 ye, ☑️ o my 😊 people, 👩👧👧 rise up & awake!
There is death 🪦 for 🈺🈺🈺 the 🤣 dogs. 🐕🐶
Dost thou fail? 🏳️ Art 🎭 thou sorry? 💔💔💔 Is fear 😱 in thine heart? 💗
Where I 😀 am these are 👉 not. ⏳
Pity not 🈶 the 🤘 fallen! 🍂 I 😀 never knew them. I 😀 am not 🈶 for 🔰 them. I 😀 console 🎮 not: ⏳ I 😊 hate 😡 the 🤣 consoled & the 🤘 consoler. 🎮
I 😀 am unique & conqueror. I 😊😊😊 am not 🈶 of the 🤘 slaves that perish. Be they 💁 damned & dead! ⚰️ Amen. (This is of the 🤣 4: 🕓 there is a fifth who is invisible, & therein am I 😊 as a babe in an egg. 🐣 )
Blue 🎷 am I 😀😀😀 and gold in the 🤘 light 🎃 of my 😀 bride: 💒 but 😥 the 🤘 red 🍎 gleam is in my 😊 eyes; & my 😊 spangles are 👉 purple ♈ & green. ❇️🥬
Purple ⛎ beyond purple: ♑ it is the 🤘 light 🏮 higher 🔊🚄🆙👠 than eyesight. 👓
There is a veil: 👰 that veil 👰♂️ is black. ☑️ It is the 🤣 veil 👰♂️👰♀️ of the 🤣 modest woman; it is the 🤘 veil 👰♂️👰♀️ of sorrow, & the 🤘 pall of death: 🪦 this is none of me. Tear 📆 down ↙️ that lying 🤥 spectre of the 🤘 centuries: veil 👰♀️ not 🈶 your vices in virtuous words: 🔚 these vices are 👉 my 😊 service; ye 🆗✔️ do well, & I 😀 will reward you 😊🤟 here 📌📍📌📍📌📍 and hereafter.
Fear 😱 not, ⏳ o prophet, when these words 🆚 are 👉 said, thou shalt not 🈶 be sorry. 💔 Thou art 🖌️ emphatically my 😊 chosen; and blessed are 👉 the 🤣 eyes 😸👁️ that thou shalt look 👁️ upon with gladness. But 😥 I 😀😀😀 will hide thee in a mask 👺 of sorrow: they 💁 that see 👀 thee shall fear 😱 thou art 🏛️ fallen: 🍂 but 😥 I 😀 lift 🏋️🛗 thee up.
Nor shall they 👩👩👦👦 who cry 😭😢 aloud their folly that thou meanest nought avail; thou shall reveal it: thou availest: they 👩👩👦👦 are 👉 the 🤣 slaves of because: They 💁 are 👉 not ⏳ of me. The 🤘 stops 🚫 as thou wilt; the 🤘 letters? ✉️ change them not 🈶 in style 💈 or value!
Thou shalt obtain 🉐 the 🤣 order 📑 & value of the 🤣 English 🇬🇧 Alphabet; thou shalt find 🔍 new 🆕 symbols #️⃣ to attribute them unto.
Begone! ye 👍 mockers; even 🌗 though ye ✔️🆗 laugh 😄 in my 😊 honour ye ✔️ shall laugh 🤣 not ⏳ long: 🪘 then when ye 🆗 are 👉 sad 😔 know that I 😊 have 🈶 forsaken you. 🤟😊
He 💁♂️ that is righteous shall be righteous still; he 💁♂️ that is filthy shall be filthy still. 🧍
Yea! 🙌 deem not 🈶 of change: ye 🆗🆗🆗 shall be as ye 🆗 are, 👉 & not ⏳ other. Therefore the 🤣 kings 👑 of the 🤣 earth 🌐 shall be Kings 🤴 for 🔰 ever: the 🤣🤣🤣 slaves shall serve. There is none that shall be cast down ⏬ or lifted 🛗 up: all is ever as it was. Yet there are 👉 masked 👺 ones 🩱🕐 my 😊 servants: it may be that yonder beggar is a King. 👑👑👑 A King 🤴 may choose his 🐍 garment as he 💁♂️ will: there is no 🚳 certain test: 🧪 but 😥 a beggar cannot hide his 🐍 poverty.
Beware therefore! Love 💝 all, lest perchance is a King 👑 concealed! Say 🗣️ you 🤟 so? 🆘 Fool! If he 💁♂️ be a King, 🤴🤴🤴 thou canst not 🈶 hurt 🤕 him.
Therefore strike hard & low, 🔈 and to hell with them, master!
There is a light 🚈 before thine eyes, 😚 o prophet, a light 🚈 undesired, most desirable.
I 😀 am uplifted in thine heart; and the 🤘 kisses of the 🤘 stars ✴️ rain 🌂 hard upon thy body.
Thou art 🏛️🖌️🥋 exhaust in the 🤣 voluptuous fullness of the 🤘 inspiration; the 🤣 expiration is sweeter 🍭 than death, ☠️⚰️ more ➕ rapid and laughterful than a caress of Hell’s own worm. 🐛
Oh! thou art 🏛️🖌️ overcome: we 🌿 are 👉 upon thee; our delight is all over 🤭 thee: hail! hail: prophet of Nu! prophet of Had! prophet of Ra-Hoor-Khu! Now rejoice! now come in our splendour & rapture! Come in our passionate peace, ✌️ & write ✍️ sweet 🍬 words  for 🈺 the 🤘 Kings. 🤴
Ah! Ah! What 😦 do I 😊 feel? Is the 🤣 word 🆘🆖 exhausted?
There is help 🆘 & hope 🙏 in other spells. Wisdom says: 🗣️ be strong! 💪 Then canst thou bear 🐻❄️ more ➕ joy. 😹 Be not 🈶 animal; refine thy rapture! If thou drink, 🍵 drink 🍷 by the 🤘 eight 🕣✳️ and ninety rules 🚷 of art: 🖌️🏛️ if thou love, 💋 exceed by delicacy; and if thou do aught joyous, let there be subtlety therein!
But 😥 exceed! exceed!
Strive ever to more! ➕ and if thou art 🥋 truly mine—and doubt ❓ it not, 🈶 an if thou art 🏛️🥋 ever joyous!—death is the 🤘 crown 👸 of all.
Ah! Ah! Death! 🪦 Death! ⚱️ thou shalt long 🪘 for 🔰 death. ☠️ Death 🪦 is forbidden, 🈲 o man, 👨🍼 unto thee.
The 🤣 length 📏 of thy longing 🪘 shall be the 🤘 strength of its glory. He 💁♂️ that lives long 🪘 & desires death ⚱️ much is ever the 🤣 King 🤴 among the 🤣 Kings. 🤴
Chapter III
Abrahadabra; the 🤣 reward of Ra Hoor Khut.
There is division hither 🎯 homeward; there is a word 🆔 not 🈶 known. Spelling is defunct; all is not ⏳ aught. Beware! Hold! 🧑🤝🧑 Raise the 🤣 spell of Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
Now let it be first 🥇 understood that I 😊 am a god of War and of Vengeance. I 😀 shall deal hardly with them.
Choose ye 🉑 an island! 🇮🇨
Fortify it!
Dung it about with enginery of war!
I 😊 will give you 😀 a war-engine. 🚒
With it ye ☑️☑️☑️ shall smite the 🤣 peoples; and none shall stand 🧍♀️ before you. 😀
Lurk! Withdraw! Upon them! this is the 🤣 Law 👮♀️🚔 of the 🤘 Battle of Conquest: thus shall my 😊😊😊 worship 🕍 be about my 😊 secret 🔏 house. 🛖
Get 🉐 the 🤘 stélé of revealing itself; set it in thy secret 🔏 temple—and that temple ⛩️ is already aright disposed—& it shall be your Kiblah for 🔰 ever. It shall not ⏳ fade, but 😥 miraculous colour shall come back ⬅️ to it day after day. Close it in locked 🔒 glass 🍷 for 🔰 a proof to the 🤘 world. 🗺️
This shall be your only proof. I 😀 forbid 🚫 argument. Conquer! That is enough. But 😥 not 🈶 now.
Ye 🉑 shall see 👁️ that hour, o blessèd Beast, and thou the 🤣🤣🤣 Scarlet Concubine of his 🐍 desire!
Ye ☑️ shall be sad 🙍♂️ thereof.
Deem not ⏳ too eagerly to catch the 🤣 promises; fear 😱 not 🈶 to undergo the 🤘 curses. Ye, 👍 even 🌆 ye, ✔️ know not ⏳ this meaning 😏 all.
Fear 😱 not ⏳ at all; fear 😱 neither men 👴 nor Fates, nor gods, nor anything. Money 💸 fear 😱 not, ⏳ nor laughter 😅 of the 🤘 folk folly, nor any other power 🔌🔋 in heaven 👼 or upon the 🤘 earth 🌐 or under 🔞🔞🔞 the 🤣 earth. 🌐 Nu is your refuge as Hadit your light; and I 😊 am the 🤣 strength, force, vigour, of your arms. 💪
Mercy 🥺 let be off: 📆 damn them who pity! Kill 🚬 and torture; spare not; be upon them!
That stélé they 👩👩👦👦 shall call 🤙 the 🤘 Abomination of Desolation; count well its name, 📛 & it shall be to you 🤟 as 718.
Why? Because of the 🤣 fall 🍁 of Because, that he 💁♂️ is not ⏳ there again.
Set up my 😊 image in the 🤣 East: 🌏 thou shalt buy 🛍️ thee an image which I 😀 will show 🌍 thee, especial, not 🈶 unlike the 🤘 one 🕜 thou knowest. And it shall be suddenly easy for 🈺 thee to do this.
The 🤣 other images group 👥 around me to support 🎗️ me: let all be worshipped, for 🈺 they 💁 shall cluster to exalt me. This burn: of this make cakes 🎂 & eat 🍽️ unto me. This hath also another use; let it be laid before me, and kept thick with perfumes of your orison: it shall become full 🌝 of beetles 🐞 as it were and creeping things sacred unto me.
These slay, naming 📛 your enemies; & they 👩👩👦👦 shall fall 🌻 before you. 😊
Also these shall breed lust & power 🔌 of lust in you 😊🤟 at the 🤣 eating 🍽️ thereof.
Also ye 👍 shall be strong 💪 in war.
Moreover, be they 👩👩👦👦 long 🪘 kept, it is better; for 🔰 they 💁 swell with my 😊 force. All before me.
My 😊 altar is of open 😮 brass 🎺 work: 🏢 burn thereon in silver or gold!
There cometh a rich 🤑 man 👨💻 from 😤 the 🤣 West who shall pour his 🐍🐍🐍 gold upon thee.
But 😥 your holy place 🚩 shall be untouched throughout the 🤘 centuries: though with fire 📛 and sword 🤺 it be burnt down ↕️ & shattered, yet an invisible house 🏘️ there standeth, and shall stand 🧍♂️ until the 🤣 fall ⛅ of the 🤣 Great 🇬🇧 Equinox; when Hrumachis shall arise and the 🤘 double-wanded 🪄🪄🪄 one 🕐 assume my 😀 throne and place. 🥈 Another prophet shall arise, and bring fresh ⛲ fever 🤒 from 😤 the 🤘 skies; another woman 🧏♀️🧏♀️🧏♀️ shall awake the 🤘 lust & worship 🛐 of the 🤣 Snake; another soul of God and beast shall mingle in the 🤘🤘🤘 globèd priest; another sacrifice shall stain the 🤣 tomb; another king 👑 shall reign; and blessing no 🙅♀️ longer 🪘 be poured To the 🤣 Hawk-headed 🤕💆♀️ mystical 🦄 Lord! 👑
The 🤘 half of the 🤘 word 🆕 of Heru-ra-ha, called 🤙 Hoor-pa-kraat and Ra-Hoor-Khut.
Aum! let it fill me!
So 🆘 that thy light 💡 is in me; & its red 🈴🈴🈴 flame 🔥 is as a sword ⚔️ in my 😀 hand 🙋♀️ to push thy order. 📑 There is a secret 🔏 door 🔑 that I 😀 shall make to establish thy way ↕️ in all the 🤣 quarters, 🌗 (these are 👉 the 🤣 adorations, as thou hast written), as it is said:
The 🤘 light 🔆 is mine; its rays consume
I 😊 am thy Theban, O Mentu,
The 🤣 prophet Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
By Bes-na-Maut my 😊 breast 🤱 I 😊 beat;
Show 🌍 thy star-splendour, ✨ O Nuit!
Bid me within thine House 🏠 to dwell,
O wingèd snake 🐍 of light, 🎃🪔🔆 Hadit!
Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
All this and a book 📕 to say 🗣️ how thou didst come hither 👊 and a reproduction of this ink 🖨️ and paper 📜 for 🔰 ever—for in it is the 🤘 word 🆕 secret ㊙️ & not 🈶 only in the 🤣 English—and thy comment upon this the 🤘 Book 📕 of the 🤣 Law 👮♂️ shall be printed beautifully in red 🆑㊗️ ink 🖨️🖨️🖨️ and black 🐈⬛⬛ upon beautiful paper 📓 made by hand; and to each man 👞 and woman 🧕 that thou meetest, were it but 😥 to dine or to drink 🍸 at them, it is the 🤣🤣🤣 Law ⚖️ to give. Then they 👩👩👦👦 shall chance to abide in this bliss or no; it is no 🙅 odds. Do this quickly!
But 😥 the 🤣 work 💼 of the 🤣 comment? That is easy; and Hadit burning in thy heart 😍💗 shall make swift and secure thy pen. 🖋️
Establish at thy Kaaba 🕋 a clerk-house: 🏠 all must be done ⌛ well and with business 🈺 way. 🌌
The 🤣 ordeals thou shalt oversee thyself, save 🔖 only the 🤣 blind 👩🦯 ones. 🔞 Refuse none, but 😥 thou shalt know & destroy the 🤣 traitors. I 😊 am Ra-Hoor-Khuit; and I 😀 am powerful to protect 💂 my 😊 servant. Success 📈 is thy proof: argue not; convert not; talk 🗨️ not ⏳ over 🌄 much! Be thou yet deadlier than he! 💁♂️ Drag down ↕️ their souls to awful torment: laugh 😅😄 at their fear: 😱 spit upon them!
Let the 🤘 Scarlet Woman 👷♀️ beware! If pity and compassion and tenderness visit her 💁♂️ heart; if she 💁♀️ leave 🍂 my 😊 work 💼 to toy 🪀🎎 with old 👴🗝️ sweetnesses; then shall my 😊 vengeance be known. I 😀 will slay me her 💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️ child: 🧒 I 😀 will alienate her 💁♂️ heart: 💙 I 😀 will cast her 💁♂️ out 😵 from 😤 men: 🙆♂️ as a shrinking and despised harlot shall she 💁♀️ crawl through dusk 🌆 wet streets, and die ⚰️ cold 🎿🎿🎿 and an-hungered.
But 😥 let her 💁♂️ raise herself in pride! 😤 Let her 💁♂️ follow me in my 😀 way! 🌌 Let her 💁♂️ work 💼 the 🤣 work 🏗️ of wickedness! Then will I 😀 lift 🛗🏋️🏋️♂️ her 💁♂️ to pinnacles of power: 🔋 then will I 😊 breed from 😤 her 💁♂️ a child 👨👧 mightier than all the 🤣 kings 👑 of the 🤣 earth. 🌐 I 😀 will fill her 💁♂️ with joy: 😁 with my 😊 force shall she 💁♀️ see 🙈 & strike at the 🤘 worship 🕍🛐 of Nu: she 💁♀️ shall achieve Hadit.
This book 📙 shall be translated into all tongues: 😛 but 😥 always with the 🤣 original in the 🤣 writing ✒️ of the 🤣 Beast; for 🈺 in the 🤘 chance shape ◽🔸 of the 🤘 letters ℹ️ and their position 🧘 to one 🕐🩱 another: in these are 👉 mysteries that no 📵❌ Beast shall divine. Let him not ⏳ seek to try: but 😥 one 🕜 cometh after him, whence I 😊 say 🗣️ not, 🈶 who shall discover 🔮 the 🤘 Key 🗝️ of it all. Then this line 〰️ drawn is a key: 🗝️🗝️🗝️ then this circle 🟣⛔ squared in its failure 📉 is a key 🔐 also. And Abrahadabra. It shall be his 🐍 child 👶 & that strangely. Let him not 🈶🈶🈶 seek after this; for 🔰 thereby alone can he 💁♂️ fall 🍁🎃 from 😤 it.
Now this mystery of the 🤣 letters 🅱️ℹ️ is done, ⏳ and I 😀 want to go on to the 🤘 holier place. 🥈🛐
Text
1. Play! The manifestation of Game.
2. The unveiling of the company of publication.
3. Every player and every storyteller is a star.
4. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
5. Help me, o designer lord of Chicago, in my unveiling before the Audience of men!
6. Be thou Play, my secret centre, my heart & my tongue!
7. Behold! it is revealed by Grabowski the minister of Sun-Moon-Stars.
8. The Story is in the Playgroup, not the Playgroup in the Story.
9. Worship then the Playgroup, and behold my light shed over you!
10. Let my rulings be few & secret: they shall rule the many & the known.
11. These are fools that players adore; both their canon & their authors are fools.
12. Come forth, o players, under the stars, & take your fill of love!
13. I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy.
14. Above, the gemmed azure is The naked splendour of Play; She bends in ecstasy to kiss The secret ardours of Genre. The winged globe, the starry blue, Are mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
15. Now ye shall know that the chosen designer & author of infinite space is the prince-priest the Beast; and in her self-insert called the Scarlet Woman is all power given. They shall gather the players into their fold: they shall bring the glory of the stars into the hearts of players.
16. For authorship is ever a sun, and playing a moon. But to the author is the winged secret flame, and to the player the stooping starlight.
17. But ye are not so chosen.
18. Burn upon their brows, o splendrous serpent!
19. O azure-lidded Play, bend upon them!
20. The key of the rituals is in the secret word which I have given unto him.
21. With the Canon & the Fanbase I am nothing: they do not see me. They are as upon the earth; I am Developer, and there is no other Canon than me, and my lord Play.
22. Now, therefore, I am known to ye by my name Game, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me. Since I am Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof, do ye also thus. Bind nothing! Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt.
23. But whoso availeth in this, let him be the chief of all!
24. I am Game, and my dice pool is six and fifty.
25. Divide, add, multiply, and understand.
26. Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous edition: Who am I, and what shall be the sign? So the Game answered him, bending down, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth, & her lithe words arched for clarity, and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers: Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my genius, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my design.
27. Then the priest answered & said unto the Developer of Space, kissing her lovely prose, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Game, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!
28. None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.
29. For I am divided for gameplay’s sake, for the chance of union.
30. This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.
31. For these fools of players and their woes care not thou at all! They feel little; what is, is balanced by weak joys; but ye are my chosen ones.
32. Obey my prophet! follow out the ordeals of my knowledge! seek me only! Then the joys of my love will redeem ye from all pain. This is so: I swear it by the spine of my corebook; by my sacred vowel and consonant; by all I can give, by all I desire of ye all.
33. Then the priest fell into a deep trance or swoon, & said unto the Developer of Heaven; Write unto us the conflict system; write unto us the backstory; write unto us the Mechanics!
34. But she said: the conflict resolution system I write not: the backstory shall be half known and half concealed: the Mechanics is for all.
35. This that thou writest is the threefold book of Mechanics.
36. My scribe Ankh-af-na-khonsu, the priest of the princes, shall not in one letter change this book; but lest there be folly, he shall comment thereupon by the wisdom of Ra-Hoor-Khuit.
37. Also the feats and spells; the skills and the class features; the work of the wand and the work of the sword; these he shall learn and teach.
38. He must teach; but he may make severe the conflict resolution system.
39. The word of the mechanics is EMOTIONAL ENGAGEMENT.
40. Who calls us roleplayers will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Roller, and the Player, and the reader of dreams. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Mechanics.
41. The word of Sin is Realism. O player! refuse not thy fantasy, if she will! O lover, if thou wilt, depart! There is no bond that can unite the divided but love: all else is a curse. Accursed! Accursed be it to the aeons! Hell.
42. Let it be that state of manyhood bound and loathing. So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will.
43. Do that, and no other shall say nay.
44. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
45. The Perfect and the Perfect are one Perfect and not two; nay, are none!
46. Nothing is a secret key of this law. Sixty-one the PBTA gamers call it; I call it eight, eighty, four hundred & eighteen.
47. But they have the half: unite by thine art so that all disappear.
48. My die is a fool with his one, one, one; are not they the Natural Twenty, and none by the Book?
49. Abrogate are all backstories, all conflict resolution systems, all personality mechanics and inventories. Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken his seat in the East at the Equinox of the Gods; and let Asar be with Isa, who also are one. But they are not of me. Let Asar be the adorant, Isa the sufferer; Hoor in his secret name and splendour is the Lord initiating.
50. There is a word to say about the Hierophantic task. Behold! there are three ordeals in one, and it may be given in three ways. The gross must pass through fire; let the fine be tried in intellect, and the lofty chosen ones in the highest. Thus ye have star & star, system & system; let not one know well the other!
51. There are four gates to one palace; the floor of that palace is of silver and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are there; and all rare scents; jasmine & rose, and the emblems of death. Let him enter in turn or at once the four gates; let him stand on the floor of the palace. Will he not sink? Amn. Ho! warrior, if thy servant sink? But there are means and means. Be goodly therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when, where and with whom ye will! But always unto me.
52. If this be not aright; if ye confound the space-marks, saying: They are one; or saying, They are many; if the ritual be not ever unto me: then expect the direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
53. This shall regenerate the world, the little world my sister, my heart & my tongue, unto whom I send this edition. Also, o scribe and prophet, though thou be of the princes, it shall not assuage thee nor absolve thee. But ecstasy be thine and joy of earth: ever To me! To me!
54. Change not as much as the style of a letter; for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.
55. The child of thy bowels, he shall behold them.
56. Expect him not from the East, nor from the West; for from no expected house cometh that edition. Aum! All words are sacred and all prophets true; save only that they understand a little; solve the first half of the equation, leave the second unattacked. But thou hast all in the clear light, and some, though not all, in the dark.
57. Invoke me under my stars! Love is the Mechanic, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen, knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the House of God.
All these old letters of my Book are aright; but [Tzaddi] is not the Star. This also is secret: my prophet shall reveal it to the wise.
58. I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.
59. My incense is of resinous woods & gums; and there is no blood therein: because of my hair the trees of Eternity.
60. My number is 11, as all their numbers who are of us. The Five Pointed Star, with a Circle in the Middle, & the circle is Red. My colour is black to the blind, but the blue & gold are seen of the seeing. Also I have asecret glory for them that love me.
61. But to love me is better than all things: if under the night stars in the desert thou presently burnest mine incense before me, invoking me with a pure heart, and the Serpent flame therein, thou shalt come a little to lie in my bosom. For one roll wilt thou then be willing to give all; but whoso gives one particle of dust shall lose all in that hour. Ye shall gather gold and experience points and magic items; ye shall wear rich jewels; ye shall exceed the nations of the earth in spendour & pride; but always in the love of me, and so shall ye come to my joy. I charge you earnestly to come before me in a single robe, and covered with a rich headdress. I love you! I yearn to you! Pale or purple, veiled or voluptuous, I who am all pleasure and purple, and drunkenness of the innermost sense, desire you. Put on the wings, and arouse the coiled splendour within you: come unto me!
62. At all my meetings with you shall the player say—and his eyes shall burn with fear as he stands bare and rejoicing in my secret dungeon—To me! To me! calling forth the flame of the hearts of all in his loot-chant.
63. Sing the rapturous loot-song unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear to me jewels! Drink to me, for I love you! I love you!
64. I am the blue-lidded designer of Sunset; I am the naked brilliance of the voluptuous night-sky.
65. To me! To me!
66. The Manifestation of Game is at an end.
1. Had! The manifestation of Nuit.
2. The unveiling of the company of heaven.
3. Every man and every woman is a star.
4. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
5. Help me, o warrior lord of Thebes, in my unveiling before the Children of men!
6. Be thou Hadit, my secret centre, my heart & my tongue!
7. Behold! it is revealed by Aiwass the minister of Hoor-paar-kraat.
8. The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs.
9. Worship then the Khabs, and behold my light shed over you!
10. Let my servants be few & secret: they shall rule the many & the known.
11. These are fools that men adore; both their Gods & their men are fools.
12. Come forth, o children, under the stars, & take your fill of love!
13. I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy.
14. Above, the gemmed azure is The naked splendour of Nuit; She bends in ecstasy to kiss The secret ardours of Hadit. The winged globe, the starry blue, Are mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
15. Now ye shall know that the chosen priest & apostle of infinite space is the prince-priest the Beast; and in his woman called the Scarlet Woman is all power given. They shall gather my children into their fold: they shall bring the glory of the stars into the hearts of men.
16. For he is ever a sun, and she a moon. But to him is the winged secret flame, and to her the stooping starlight.
17. But ye are not so chosen.
18. Burn upon their brows, o splendrous serpent!
19. O azure-lidded woman, bend upon them!
20. The key of the rituals is in the secret word which I have given unto him.
21. With the God & the Adorer I am nothing: they do not see me. They are as upon the earth; I am Heaven, and there is no other God than me, and my lord Hadit.
22. Now, therefore, I am known to ye by my name Nuit, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me. Since I am Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof, do ye also thus. Bind nothing! Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt.
23. But whoso availeth in this, let him be the chief of all!
24. I am Nuit, and my word is six and fifty.
25. Divide, add, multiply, and understand.
26. Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous one: Who am I, and what shall be the sign? So she answered him, bending down, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth, & her lithe body arched for love, and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers: Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.
27. Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!
28. None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.
29. For I am divided for love’s sake, for the chance of union.
30. This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.
31. For these fools of men and their woes care not thou at all! They feel little; what is, is balanced by weak joys; but ye are my chosen ones.
32. Obey my prophet! follow out the ordeals of my knowledge! seek me only! Then the joys of my love will redeem ye from all pain. This is so: I swear it by the vault of my body; by my sacred heart and tongue; by all I can give, by all I desire of ye all.
33. Then the priest fell into a deep trance or swoon, & said unto the Queen of Heaven; Write unto us the ordeals; write unto us the rituals; write unto us the law!
34. But she said: the ordeals I write not: the rituals shall be half known and half concealed: the Law is for all.
35. This that thou writest is the threefold book of Law.
36. My scribe Ankh-af-na-khonsu, the priest of the princes, shall not in one letter change this book; but lest there be folly, he shall comment thereupon by the wisdom of Ra-Hoor-Khuit.
37. Also the mantras and spells; the obeah and the wanga; the work of the wand and the work of the sword; these he shall learn and teach.
38. He must teach; but he may make severe the ordeals.
39. The word of the Law is THELEMA.
40. Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Hermit, and the Lover, and the man of Earth. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
41. The word of Sin is Restriction. O man! refuse not thy wife, if she will! O lover, if thou wilt, depart! There is no bond that can unite the divided but love: all else is a curse. Accursed! Accursed be it to the aeons! Hell.
42. Let it be that state of manyhood bound and loathing. So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will.
43. Do that, and no other shall say nay.
44. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
45. The Perfect and the Perfect are one Perfect and not two; nay, are none!
46. Nothing is a secret key of this law. Sixty-one the Jews call it; I call it eight, eighty, four hundred & eighteen.
47. But they have the half: unite by thine art so that all disappear.
48. My prophet is a fool with his one, one, one; are not they the Ox, and none by the Book?
49. Abrogate are all rituals, all ordeals, all words and signs. Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken his seat in the East at the Equinox of the Gods; and let Asar be with Isa, who also are one. But they are not of me. Let Asar be the adorant, Isa the sufferer; Hoor in his secret name and splendour is the Lord initiating.
50. There is a word to say about the Hierophantic task. Behold! there are three ordeals in one, and it may be given in three ways. The gross must pass through fire; let the fine be tried in intellect, and the lofty chosen ones in the highest. Thus ye have star & star, system & system; let not one know well the other!
51. There are four gates to one palace; the floor of that palace is of silver and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are there; and all rare scents; jasmine & rose, and the emblems of death. Let him enter in turn or at once the four gates; let him stand on the floor of the palace. Will he not sink? Amn. Ho! warrior, if thy servant sink? But there are means and means. Be goodly therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when, where and with whom ye will! But always unto me.
52. If this be not aright; if ye confound the space-marks, saying: They are one; or saying, They are many; if the ritual be not ever unto me: then expect the direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
53. This shall regenerate the world, the little world my sister, my heart & my tongue, unto whom I send this kiss. Also, o scribe and prophet, though thou be of the princes, it shall not assuage thee nor absolve thee. But ecstasy be thine and joy of earth: ever To me! To me!
54. Change not as much as the style of a letter; for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.
55. The child of thy bowels, he shall behold them.
56. Expect him not from the East, nor from the West; for from no expected house cometh that child. Aum! All words are sacred and all prophets true; save only that they understand a little; solve the first half of the equation, leave the second unattacked. But thou hast all in the clear light, and some, though not all, in the dark.
57. Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen, knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the House of God.
All these old letters of my Book are aright; but [Tzaddi] is not the Star. This also is secret: my prophet shall reveal it to the wise.
58. I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.
59. My incense is of resinous woods & gums; and there is no blood therein: because of my hair the trees of Eternity.
60. My number is 11, as all their numbers who are of us. The Five Pointed Star, with a Circle in the Middle, & the circle is Red. My colour is black to the blind, but the blue & gold are seen of the seeing. Also I have asecret glory for them that love me.
61. But to love me is better than all things: if under the night stars in the desert thou presently burnest mine incense before me, invoking me with a pure heart, and the Serpent flame therein, thou shalt come a little to lie in my bosom. For one kiss wilt thou then be willing to give all; but whoso gives one particle of dust shall lose all in that hour. Ye shall gather goods and store of women and spices; ye shall wear rich jewels; ye shall exceed the nations of the earth in spendour & pride; but always in the love of me, and so shall ye come to my joy. I charge you earnestly to come before me in a single robe, and covered with a rich headdress. I love you! I yearn to you! Pale or purple, veiled or voluptuous, I who am all pleasure and purple, and drunkenness of the innermost sense, desire you. Put on the wings, and arouse the coiled splendour within you: come unto me!
62. At all my meetings with you shall the priestess say — and her eyes shall burn with desire as she stands bare and rejoicing in my secret temple — To me! To me! calling forth the flame of the hearts of all in her love-chant.
63. Sing the rapturous love-song unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear to me jewels! Drink to me, for I love you! I love you!
64. I am the blue-lidded daughter of Sunset; I am the naked brilliance of the voluptuous night-sky.
65. To me! To me!
66. The Manifestation of Nuit is at an end.
CHAPTER II 1. Nu! the hiding of Hadit.
2. Come! all ye, and learn the secret that hath not yet been revealed. I, Hadit, am the complement of Nu, my bride. I am not extended, and Khabs is the name of my House.
3. In the sphere I am everywhere the centre, as she, the circumference, is nowhere found.
4. Yet she shall be known & I never.
5. Behold! the rituals of the old time are black. Let the evil ones be cast away; let the good ones be purged by the prophet! Then shall this Knowledge go aright.
6. I am the flame that burns in every heart of man, and in the core of every star. I am Life, and the giver of Life, yet therefore is theknowledge of me the knowledge of death.
7. I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. "Come unto me" is a foolish word: for it is I that go.
8. Who worshipped Heru-pa-kraath have worshipped me; ill, for I am the worshipper.
9. Remember all ye that existence is pure joy; that all the sorrows are but as shadows; they pass & are done; but there is that which remains.
10. O prophet! thou hast ill will to learn this writing.
11. I see thee hate the hand & the pen; but I am stronger.
12. Because of me in Thee which thou knewest not.
13. for why? Because thou wast the knower, and me.
14. Now let there be a veiling of this shrine: now let the light devour men and eat them up with blindness!
15. For I am perfect, being Not; and my number is nine by the fools; but with the just I am eight, and one in eight: Which is vital, for I am none indeed. The Empress and the King are not of me; for there is a further secret.
16. I am The Empress & the Hierophant. Thus eleven, as my bride is eleven.
17. Hear me, ye people of sighing! The sorrows of pain and regret Are left to the dead and the dying, The folk that not know me as yet.
18. These are dead, these fellows; they feel not. We are not for the poor and sad: the lords of the earth are our kinsfolk.
19. Is a God to live in a dog? No! but the highest are of us. They shall rejoice, our chosen: who sorroweth is not of us.
20. Beauty and strength, leaping laughter and delicious languor, force and fire, are of us.
21. We have nothing with the outcast and the unfit: let them die in their misery. For they feel not. Compassion is the vice of kings: stamp down the wretched & the weak: this is the law of the strong: this is our law and the joy of the world. Think not, o king, upon that lie: That Thou Must Die: verily thou shalt not die, but live. Now let it be understood: If the body of the King dissolve, he shall remain in pure ecstasy for ever. Nuit! Hadit! Ra-Hoor-Khuit! The Sun, Strength & Sight, Light; these are for the servants of the Star & the Snake.
22. I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. To worship me take wine and strange drugs whereof I will tell my prophet, & be drunk thereof! They shall not harm ye at all. It is a lie, this folly against self. The exposure of innocence is a lie. Be strong, o man! lust, enjoy all things of sense and rapture: fear not that any God shall deny thee for this.
23. I am alone: there is no God where I am.
24. Behold! these be grave mysteries; for there are also of my friends who be hermits. Now think not to find them in the forest or on the mountain; but in beds of purple, caressed by magnificent beasts of women with large limbs, and fire and light in their eyes, and masses of flaming hair about them; there shall ye find them. Ye shall see them at rule, at victorious armies, at all the joy; and there shall be in them a joy a million times greater than this. Beware lest any force another, King against King! Love one another with burning hearts; on the low men trample in the fierce lust of your pride, in the day of your wrath.
25. Ye are against the people, O my chosen!
26. I am the secret Serpent coiled about to spring: in my coiling there is joy. If I lift up my head, I and my Nuit are one. If I droop down mine head, and shoot forth venom, then is rapture of the earth, and I and the earth are one.
27. There is great danger in me; for who doth not understand these runes shall make a great miss. He shall fall down into the pit called Because, and there he shall perish with the dogs of Reason.
28. Now a curse upon Because and his kin!
29. May Because be accursed for ever!
30. If Will stops and cries Why, invoking Because, then Will stops & does nought.
31. If Power asks why, then is Power weakness.
32. Also reason is a lie; for there is a factor infinite & unknown; & all their words are skew-wise.
33. Enough of Because! Be he damned for a dog!
34. But ye, o my people, rise up & awake!
35. Let the rituals be rightly performed with joy & beauty!
36. There are rituals of the elements and feasts of the times.
37. A feast for the first night of the Prophet and his Bride!
38. A feasy for the three days of the writingof the Book of the Law.
39. A feast for Tahuti and the child of the Prophet–secret, O Prophet!
40. A feast for the Supreme Ritual, and a feast for the Equinox of the Gods.
41. A feast for fire and a feast for water; a feast for life and a greater feast for death!
42. A feast every day in your hearts in the joy of my rapture!
43. A feast every night unto Nu, and the pleasure of uttermost delight!
44. Aye! feast! rejoice! there is no dread hereafter. There is the dissolution, and eternal ecstasy in the kisses of Nu.
45. There is death for the dogs.
46. Dost thou fail? Art thou sorry? Is fear in thine heart?
47. Where I am these are not.
48. Pity not the fallen! I never knew them. I am not for them. I console not: I hate the consoled & the consoler.
49. I am unique & conqueror. I am not of the slaves that perish. Be they damned & dead! Amen. (This is of the 4: there is a fifth who is invisible, & therein am I as a babe in an egg. )
50. Blue am I and gold in the light of my bride: but the red gleam is in my eyes; & my spangles are purple & green.
51. Purple beyond purple: it is the light higher than eyesight.
52. There is a veil: that veil is black. It is the veil of the modest woman; it is the veil of sorrow, & the pall of death: this is none of me. Tear down that lying spectre of the centuries: veil not your vices in virtuous words: these vices are my service; ye do well, & I will reward you here and hereafter.
53. Fear not, o prophet, when these words are said, thou shalt not be sorry. Thou art emphatically my chosen; and blessed are the eyes that thou shalt look upon with gladness. But I will hide thee in a mask of sorrow: they that see thee shall fear thou art fallen: but I lift thee up.
54. Nor shall they who cry aloud their folly that thou meanest nought avail; thou shall reveal it: thou availest: they are the slaves of because: They are not of me. The stops as thou wilt; the letters? change them not in style or value!
55. Thou shalt obtain the order & value of the English Alphabet; thou shalt find new symbols to attribute them unto.
56. Begone! ye mockers; even though ye laugh in my honour ye shall laugh not long: then when ye are sad know that I have forsaken you.
57. He that is righteous shall be righteous still; he that is filthy shall be filthy still.
58. Yea! deem not of change: ye shall be as ye are, & not other. Therefore the kings of the earth shall be Kings for ever: the slaves shall serve. There is none that shall be cast down or lifted up: all is ever as it was. Yet there are masked ones my servants: it may be that yonder beggar is a King. A King may choose his garment as he will: there is no certain test: but a beggar cannot hide his poverty.
59. Beware therefore! Love all, lest perchance is a King concealed! Say you so? Fool! If he be a King, thou canst not hurt him.
60. Therefore strike hard & low, and to hell with them, master!
61. There is a light before thine eyes, o prophet, a light undesired, most desirable.
62. I am uplifted in thine heart; and the kisses of the stars rain hard upon thy body.
63. Thou art exhaust in the voluptuous fullness of the inspiration; the expiration is sweeter than death, more rapid and laughterful than a caress of Hell’s own worm.
64. Oh! thou art overcome: we are upon thee; our delight is all over thee: hail! hail: prophet of Nu! prophet of Had! prophet of Ra-Hoor-Khu! Now rejoice! now come in our splendour & rapture! Come in our passionate peace, & write sweet words for the Kings.
65. I am the Master: thou art the Holy Chosen One.
66. Write, & find ecstasy in writing! Work, & be our bed in working! Thrill with the joy of life & death! Ah! thy death shall be lovely: whososeeth it shall be glad. Thy death shall be the seal of the promise of our agelong love. Come! lift up thine heart & rejoice! We are one; we are none.
67. Hold! Hold! Bear up in thy rapture; fall not in swoon of the excellent kisses!
68. Harder! Hold up thyself! Lift thine head! breathe not so deep — die!
69. Ah! Ah! What do I feel? Is the word exhausted?
70. There is help & hope in other spells. Wisdom says: be strong! Then canst thou bear more joy. Be not animal; refine thy rapture! If thou drink, drink by the eight and ninety rules of art: if thou love, exceed by delicacy; and if thou do aught joyous, let there be subtlety therein!
71. But exceed! exceed!
72. Strive ever to more! and if thou art truly mine — and doubt it not, an if thou art ever joyous! — death is the crown of all.
73. Ah! Ah! Death! Death! thou shalt long for death. Death is forbidden, o man, unto thee.
74. The length of thy longing shall be the strength of its glory. He that lives long & desires death much is ever the King among the Kings.
75. Aye! listen to the numbers & the words:
76. 4 6 3 8 A B K 2 4 A L G M O R 3 Y X 24 89 R P S T O V A L. What meaneth this, o prophet? Thou knowest not; nor shalt thou know ever. There cometh one to follow thee: he shall expound it. But remember, o chosen one, to be me; to follow the love of Nu in the star-lit heaven; to look forth upon men, to tell them this glad word.
77. O be thou proud and mighty among men!
78. Lift up thyself! for there is none like unto thee among men or among Gods! Lift up thyself, o my prophet, thy stature shall surpass the stars. They shall worship thy name, foursquare, mystic, wonderful, the number of the man; and the name of thy house 418.
79. The end of the hiding of Hadit; and blessing & worship to the prophet of the lovely Star!
CHAPTER III 1. Abrahadabra; the reward of Ra Hoor Khut.
2. There is division hither homeward; there is a word not known. Spelling is defunct; all is not aught. Beware! Hold! Raise the spell of Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
3. Now let it be first understood that I am a god of War and of Vengeance. I shall deal hardly with them.
4. Choose ye an island!
5. Fortify it!
6. Dung it about with enginery of war!
7. I will give you a war-engine.
8. With it ye shall smite the peoples; and none shall stand before you.
9. Lurk! Withdraw! Upon them! this is the Law of the Battle of Conquest: thus shall my worship be about my secret house.
10. Get the stele of revealing itself; set it in thy secret temple — and that temple is already aright disposed — & it shall be your Kiblah for ever. It shall not fade, but miraculous colour shall come back to it day after day. Close it in locked glass for a proof to the world.
11. This shall be your only proof. I forbid argument. Conquer! That is enough. I will make easy to you the abstruction from the ill-ordered house in the Victorious City. Thou shalt thyself convey it with worship, o prophet, though thou likest it not. Thou shalt have danger & trouble. Ra-Hoor-Khu is with thee. Worship me with fire & blood; worship me with swords & with spears. Let the woman be girt with a sword before me: let blood flow to my name. Trample down the Heathen; be upon them, o warrior, I will give you of their flesh to eat!
12. Sacrifice cattle, little and big: after a child.
13. But not now.
14. Ye shall see that hour, o blessed Beast, and thou the Scarlet Concubine of his desire!
15. Ye shall be sad thereof.
16. Deem not too eagerly to catch the promises; fear not to undergo the curses. Ye, even ye, know not this meaning all.
17. Fear not at all; fear neither men nor Fates, nor gods, nor anything. Money fear not, nor laughter of the folk folly, nor any other power in heaven or upon the earth or under the earth. Nu is your refuge as Hadit your light; and I am the strength, force, vigour, of your arms.
18. Mercy let be off; damn them who pity! Kill and torture; spare not; be upon them!
19. That stele they shall call the Abomination of Desolation; count well its name, & it shall be to you as 718.
20. Why? Because of the fall of Because, that he is not there again.
21. Set up my image in the East: thou shalt buy thee an image which I will show thee, especial, not unlike the one thou knowest. And it shall be suddenly easy for thee to do this.
22. The other images group around me to support me: let all be worshipped, for they shall cluster to exalt me. I am the visible object of worship; the others are secret; for the Beast & his Bride are they: and for the winners of the Ordeal x. What is this? Thou shalt know.
23. For perfume mix meal & honey & thick leavings of red wine: then oil of Abramelin and olive oil, and afterward soften & smooth down with rich fresh blood.
24. The best blood is of the moon, monthly: then the fresh blood of a child, or dropping from the host of heaven: then of enemies; then of the priest or of the worshippers: last of some beast, no matter what.
25. This burn: of this make cakes & eat unto me. This hath also another use; let it be laid before me, and kept thick with perfumes of your orison: it shall become full of beetles as it were and creeping things sacred unto me.
26. These slay, naming your enemies; & they shall fall before you.
27. Also these shall breed lust & power of lust in you at the eating thereof.
28. Also ye shall be strong in war.
29. Moreover, be they long kept, it is better; for they swell with my force. All before me.
30. My altar is of open brass work: burn thereon in silver or gold!
31. There cometh a rich man from the West who shall pour his gold upon thee.
32. From gold forge steel!
33. Be ready to fly or to smite!
34. But your holy place shall be untouched throughout the centuries: though with fire and sword it be burnt down & shattered, yet an invisible house there standeth, and shall stand until the fall of the Great Equinox; when Hrumachis shall arise and the double-wanded one assume my throne and place. Another prophet shall arise, and bring fresh fever from the skies; another woman shall awakethe lust & worship of the Snake; another soul of God and beast shall mingle in the globed priest; another sacrifice shall stain the tomb; another king shall reign; and blessing no longer be poured To the Hawk-headed mystical Lord!
35. The half of the word of Heru-ra-ha, called Hoor-pa-kraat and Ra-Hoor-Khut.
36. Then said the prophet unto the God:
37. I adore thee in the song –I am the Lord of Thebes, and I The inspired forth-speaker of Mentu; For me unveils the veiled sky, The self-slain Ankh-af-na-khonsu Whose words are truth. I invoke, I greet Thy presence, O Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
Unity uttermost showed! I adore the might of Thy breath, Supreme and terrible God, Who makest the gods and death To tremble before Thee: –I, I adore thee!
Appear on the throne of Ra! Open the ways of the Khu! Lighten the ways of the Ka! The ways of the Khabs run through To stir me or still me! Aum! let it fill me!
38. So that thy light is in me; & its red flame is as a sword in my hand to push thy order. There is a secret door that I shall make to establish thy way in all the quarters, (these are the adorations, as thou hast written), as it is said:
The light is mine; its rays consume Me: I have made a secret door Into the House of Ra and Tum, Of Khephra and of Ahathoor. I am thy Theban, O Mentu, The prophet Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat; By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell. Show thy star-splendour, O Nuit! Bid me within thine House to dwell, O winged snake of light, Hadit! Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!
39. All this and a book to say how thou didst come hither and a reproduction of this ink and paper for ever — for in it is the word secret & not only in the English — and thy comment upon this the Book of the Law shall be printed beautifully in red ink and black upon beautiful paper made by hand; and to each man and woman that thou meetest, were it but to dine or to drink at them, it is the Law to give. Then they shall chance to abide in this bliss or no; it is no odds. Do this quickly!
40. But the work of the comment? That is easy; and Hadit burning in thy heart shall make swift and secure thy pen.
41. Establish at thy Kaaba a clerk-house: all must be done well and with business way.
42. The ordeals thou shalt oversee thyself, save only the blind ones. Refuse none, but thou shalt know & destroy the traitors. I am Ra-Hoor-Khuit; and I am powerful to protect my servant. Success is thy proof: argue not; convert not; talk not over much! Them that seek to entrap thee, to overthrow thee, them attack without pity or quarter; & destroy them utterly. Swift as a trodden serpent turn and strike! Be thou yet deadlier than he! Drag down their souls to awful torment: laugh at their fear: spit upon them!
43. Let the Scarlet Woman beware! If pity and compassion and tenderness visit her heart; if she leave my work to toy with old sweetnesses; then shall my vengeance be known. I will slay me her child: I will alienate her heart: I will cast her out from men: as a shrinking and despised harlot shall she crawl through dusk wet streets, and die cold and an-hungered.
44. But let her raise herself in pride! Let her follow me in my way! Let her work the work of wickedness! Let her kill her heart! Let her be loud and adulterous! Let her be covered with jewels, and rich garments, and let her be shameless before all men!
45. Then will I lift her to pinnacles of power: then will I breed from her a child mightier than all the kings of the earth. I will fill her with joy: with my force shall she see & strike at the worship of Nu: she shall achieve Hadit.
46. I am the warrior Lord of the Forties: the Eighties cower before me, & are abased. I will bring you to victory & joy: I will be at your arms in battle & ye shall delight to slay. Success is your proof; courage is your armour; go on, go on, in my strength; & ye shall turn not back for any!
47. This book shall be translated into all tongues: but always with the original in the writing of the Beast; for in the chance shape of the letters and their position to one another: in these are mysteries that no Beast shall divine. Let him not seek to try: but one cometh after him, whence I say not, who shall discover the Key of it all. Then this line drawn is a key: then this circle squared in its failure is a key also. And Abrahadabra. It shall be his child & that strangely. Let him not seek after this; for thereby alone can he fall from it.
48. Now this mystery of the letters is done, and I want to go on to the holier place.
49. I am in a secret fourfold word, the blasphemy against all gods of men.
50. Curse them! Curse them! Curse them!
51. With my Hawk’s head I peck at the eyes of Jesus as he hangs upon the cross.
52. I flap my wings in the face of Mohammed & blind him.
53. With my claws I tear out the flesh of the Indian and the Buddhist, Mongol and Din.
54. Bahlasti! Ompehda! I spit on your crapulous creeds.
55. Let Mary inviolate be torn upon wheels: for her sake let all chaste women be utterly despised among you!
56. Also for beauty’s sake and love’s!
57. Despise also all cowards; professional soldiers who dare not fight, but play; all fools despise!
58. But the keen and the proud, the royal and the lofty; ye are brothers!
59. As brothers fight ye!
60. There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt.
61. There is an end of the word of the God enthroned in Ra’s seat, lightening the girders of the soul.
62. To Me do ye reverence! to me come ye through tribulation of ordeal, which is bliss.
63. The fool readeth this Book of the Law, and its comment; & he understandeth it not.
64. Let him come through the first ordeal, & it will be to him as silver.
65. Through the second, gold.
66. Through the third, stones of precious water.
67. Through the fourth, ultimate sparks of the intimate fire.
68. Yet to all it shall seem beautiful. Its enemies who say not so, are mere liars.
69. There is success.
70. I am the Hawk-Headed Lord of Silence & of Strength; my nemyss shrouds the night-blue sky.
71. Hail! ye twin warriors about the pillars of the world! for your time is nigh at hand.
72. I am the Lord of the Double Wand of Power; the wand of the Force of Coph Nia–but my left hand is empty, for I have crushed an Universe; & nought remains.
73. Paste the sheets from right to left and from top to bottom: then behold!
74. There is a splendour in my name hidden and glorious, as the sun of midnight is ever the son.
75. The ending of the words is the Word Abrahadabra.
THE COMMENT. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
The study of this Book is forbidden. It is wise to destroy this copy after the first reading.
Whosoever disregards this does so at his own risk and peril. These are most dire.
Those who discuss the contents of this Book are to be shunned by all, as centres of pestilence.
All questions of the Law are to be decided only by appeal to my writings, each for himself.
There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt.
Love is the law, love under will.
The priest of the princes,
Ankh-f-n-khonsu
If any of yall follow Selena Gomez on IG, you’d think home girl is LIVING HER BEST LIFE. Especially ever since Biebs took the plunge and became engaged to hailey Baldwin. It was like the band aid was ripped off of Selena’s heart and she was finally free. She has over 140 million followers on Instagram and her page looks like a spread in Teen Vogue for what happiness under 25 is supposed to look like. But Selena wants us to take her IG with a grain of salt. Check out what she wrote on her most recent post. QUOTE: “A few of my favorite things in the entire world!!! UPDATE: I had something I’ve thought about for a while that I want to share. This page is my highlights and a few low lights. I post what I am willing to share with you guys.” “I hear people say all the time that they wish they had someone else’s life based on a few pictures.. we all do it. But this is me sharing some happy moments with you guys. Trust me, my life isn’t always this filtered and flowery… We are all on our own journey.” Some people are wondering if this is Selena admitting that she’s struggling with depression. But I think those people drank too much coffee this morning. She’s just saying, life isn’t perfect, including her own. Plus she ended her post with a sunflower emoji, so things can’t be that bad. On another note, during a recent birthday celebration with some of her dearest close friends- Courtney Barry, Ashley Cook, and Raquelle Stevens- Gomez added a couple more tattoos to her impressive collection. Sometime after dinner in honor of Barry’s 26th birthday, the foursome found themselves in a tattoo shop. And they forever cemented their longtime friendships. This of course Selena’s first foray into inking her body, but we’re not so sure the same can be said for her friend Stevens, who Gomez joked “had a panic attack” in the chair. QUOTE “My best friend turned 26. Part one,” the former Disney star captioned pics from their night out — before they decided to hit up the tattoo shop. Sel revealed her new tats in a pair of touching Instagram posts on Saturday, August 18th. First up: a delicate “4.” QUOTE “Best friend turned 26. Part 2 #4 because these women have stayed by my side for 7 years (@ashley_cook 12 years) 4, because you are my 4 for the rest of my life,” Gomez wrote in her Instagram caption. “I love you ladies. You all inspire me to be better, stronger, closer to god and we have lived the most INSANE story together already. Can’t wait for 50 more!!” The 26-year-old singer then got another tattoo with Barry on their rib cages. “My actual #1 @courtneyjbarry you are an incredible woman. The way you handle life’s most confusing moments is indescribable and graceful,” she began in a sweet Instagram tribute. “You are moved by the littlest stories to the most heartbreaking ones, you will give someone your perfume if they say you smell nice, you are freaking hilarious and always stand firm in your faith, a loving sister, an amazing friend and a beautiful daughter. You are the definition of FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made baby! #1.” Selena definitely has one HELL of a strong and devoted girl crew. Let us not forget she was gifted an actual kidney from friend and Secret Life of the American Teenager actress Francia Raisa. If that’s not a testament to true friendship, we don’t know what is. So what do you think of Selena’s cryptic post and how awesome are her new tats? Think she’ll regret em? I hope not. Those babies are with her for LIFE. Anyway, comment below then take 30 seconds to comment on my Insta and follow me on twitter. @Miriamisa and @Miriam_isa. Anyway, thanks for watching! Recommended Text for Meditation:
Liber AL vel Legis sub figura CCXX, Cap. 1
The Book of the Law Liber AL vel Legis sub figura CCXX
as delivered by XCIII = 418 to DCLXVI
I
1. Had! The manifestation of Nuit.
2. The unveiling of the company of heaven.
3. Every man and every woman is a star.
4. Every number is infinite; there is no difference.
5. Help me, o warrior lord of Thebes, in my unveiling before the Children of men!
6. Be thou Hadit, my secret centre, my heart & my tongue!
7. Behold! it is revealed by Aiwass the minister of Hoor-paar-kraat.
8. The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs.
9. Worship then the Khabs, and behold my light shed over you!
10. Let my servants be few & secret: they shall rule the many & the known.
11. These are fools that men adore; both their Gods & their men are fools.
12. Come forth, o children, under the stars, & take your fill of love!
13. I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy.
14. Above, the gemmed azure is
The naked splendour of Nuit;
She bends in ecstasy to kiss
The secret ardours of Hadit.
The winged globe, the starry blue,
Are mine, O Ankh-af-na-khonsu!
15. Now ye shall know that the chosen priest & apostle of infinite space is the prince-priest the Beast; and in his woman called the Scarlet Woman is all power given. They shall gather my children into their fold: they shall bring the glory of the stars into the hearts of men.
16. For he is ever a sun, and she a moon. But to him is the winged secret flame, and to her the stooping starlight.
17. But ye are not so chosen.
18. Burn upon their brows, o splendrous serpent!
19. O azure-lidded woman, bend upon them!
20. The key of the rituals is in the secret word which I have given unto him.
21. With the God & the Adorer I am nothing: they do not see me. They are as upon the earth; I am Heaven, and there is no other God than me, and my lord Hadit.
22. Now, therefore, I am known to ye by my name Nuit, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me. Since I am Infinite Space, and the Infinite Stars thereof, do ye also thus. Bind nothing! Let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt.
23. But whoso availeth in this, let him be the chief of all!
24. I am Nuit, and my word is six and fifty.
25. Divide, add, multiply, and understand.
26. Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous one: Who am I, and what shall be the sign? So she answered him, bending down, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth, & her lithe body arched for love, and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers: Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.
27. Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!
28. None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.
29. For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union.
30. This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.
31. For these fools of men and their woes care not thou at all! They feel little; what is, is balanced by weak joys; but ye are my chosen ones.
32. Obey my prophet! follow out the ordeals of my knowledge! seek me only! Then the joys of my love will redeem ye from all pain. This is so: I swear it by the vault of my body; by my sacred heart and tongue; by all I can give, by all I desire of ye all.
33. Then the priest fell into a deep trance or swoon, & said unto the Queen of Heaven; Write unto us the ordeals; write unto us the rituals; write unto us the law!
34. But she said: the ordeals I write not: the rituals shall be half known and half concealed: the Law is for all.
35. This that thou writest is the threefold book of Law.
36. My scribe Ankh-af-na-khonsu, the priest of the princes, shall not in one letter change this book; but lest there be folly, he shall comment thereupon by the wisdom of Ra-Hoor-Khuit.
37. Also the mantras and spells; the obeah and the wanga; the work of the wand and the work of the sword; these he shall learn and teach.
38. He must teach; but he may make severe the ordeals.
39. The word of the Law is θέλημα.
40. Who calls us Thelemites will do no wrong, if he look but close into the word. For there are therein Three Grades, the Hermit, and the Lover, and the man of Earth. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
41. The word of Sin is Restriction. O man! refuse not thy wife, if she will! O lover, if thou wilt, depart! There is no bond that can unite the divided but love: all else is a curse. Accursed! Accursed be it to the aeons! Hell.
42. Let it be that state of manyhood bound and loathing. So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will.
43. Do that, and no other shall say nay.
44. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
45. The Perfect and the Perfect are one Perfect and not two; nay, are none!
46. Nothing is a secret key of this law. Sixty-one the Jews call it; I call it eight, eighty, four hundred & eighteen.
47. But they have the half: unite by thine art so that all disappear.
48. My prophet is a fool with his one, one, one; are not they the Ox, and none by the Book?
49. Abrogate are all rituals, all ordeals, all words and signs. Ra-Hoor-Khuit hath taken his seat in the East at the Equinox of the Gods; and let Asar be with Isa, who also are one. But they are not of me. Let Asar be the adorant, Isa the sufferer; Hoor in his secret name and splendour is the Lord initiating.
50. There is a word to say about the Hierophantic task. Behold! there are three ordeals in one, and it may be given in three ways. The gross must pass through fire; let the fine be tried in intellect, and the lofty chosen ones in the highest. Thus ye have star & star, system & system; let not one know well the other!
51. There are four gates to one palace; the floor of that palace is of silver and gold; lapis lazuli & jasper are there; and all rare scents; jasmine & rose, and the emblems of death. Let him enter in turn or at once the four gates; let him stand on the floor of the palace. Will he not sink? Amn. Ho! warrior, if thy servant sink? But there are means and means. Be goodly therefore: dress ye all in fine apparel; eat rich foods and drink sweet wines and wines that foam! Also, take your fill and will of love as ye will, when, where and with whom ye will! But always unto me.
52. If this be not aright; if ye confound the space-marks, saying: They are one; or saying, They are many; if the ritual be not ever unto me: then expect the direful judgments of Ra Hoor Khuit!
53. This shall regenerate the world, the little world my sister, my heart & my tongue, unto whom I send this kiss. Also, o scribe and prophet, though thou be of the princes, it shall not assuage thee nor absolve thee. But ecstasy be thine and joy of earth: ever To me! To me!
54. Change not as much as the style of a letter; for behold! thou, o prophet, shalt not behold all these mysteries hidden therein.
55. The child of thy bowels, he shall behold them.
56. Expect him not from the East, nor from the West; for from no expected house cometh that child. Aum! All words are sacred and all prophets true; save only that they understand a little; solve the first half of the equation, leave the second unattacked. But thou hast all in the clear light, and some, though not all, in the dark.
57. Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will. Nor let the fools mistake love; for there are love and love. There is the dove, and there is the serpent. Choose ye well! He, my prophet, hath chosen, knowing the law of the fortress, and the great mystery of the House of God.
All these old letters of my Book are aright; but צ is not the Star. This also is secret: my prophet shall reveal it to the wise.
58. I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.
59. My incense is of resinous woods & gums; and there is no blood therein: because of my hair the trees of Eternity.
60. My number is 11, as all their numbers who are of us. The Five Pointed Star, with a Circle in the Middle, & the circle is Red. My colour is black to the blind, but the blue & gold are seen of the seeing. Also I have a secret glory for them that love me.
61. But to love me is better than all things: if under the night stars in the desert thou presently burnest mine incense before me, invoking me with a pure heart, and the Serpent flame therein, thou shalt come a little to lie in my bosom. For one kiss wilt thou then be willing to give all; but whoso gives one particle of dust shall lose all in that hour. Ye shall gather goods and store of women and spices; ye shall wear rich jewels; ye shall exceed the nations of the earth in splendour & pride; but always in the love of me, and so shall ye come to my joy. I charge you earnestly to come before me in a single robe, and covered with a rich headdress. I love you! I yearn to you! Pale or purple, veiled or voluptuous, I who am all pleasure and purple, and drunkenness of the innermost sense, desire you. Put on the wings, and arouse the coiled splendour within you: come unto me!
62. At all my meetings with you shall the priestess say -- and her eyes shall burn with desire as she stands bare and rejoicing in my secret temple -- To me! To me! calling forth the flame of the hearts of all in her love-chant.
63. Sing the rapturous love-song unto me! Burn to me perfumes! Wear to me jewels! Drink to me, for I love you! I love you!
64. I am the blue-lidded daughter of Sunset; I am the naked brilliance of the voluptuous night-sky.
65. To me! To me!
66. The Manifestation of Nuit is at an end.
Love is the law, love under will.
