Wedding of Prince Mateen of Brunei

The wedding celebrations of Prince Abdul Mateen Bolkiah and Anisha Rosnah Isa binti Adam Kalebic have started in Brunei. I still haven't gotten a very clear picture of her engagement ring yet but it is a very large diamond.

Here is the full schedule. The events on the 14th and 15th should be when the bride wears a tiara. I'm going to put links to videos and articles inline with each event even if they don't include the bride and groom. The ceremonies are still interesting to watch.

The first event was the Majlis Khatam Al-Quran where Anisha read the Quran. It's wasn't broadcast like some of the later events will be but someone in attendance posted a clip if you want to watch. Her dress is a Baju Kurung made of Tenunan Brunei fabric by Teh Firdaus.

Then Anisha wore another dress by Teh Firdaus for the Berbedak Mandi after the public ceremonial events on the 9th. The bride and groom weren't seen during the first two parts where the official betrothal gifts were presented but she is looking at the gifts in the photos. I noticed diamond earrings, a ring that looks like it's from Chaumet's Josephine Aigrette collection, a necklace with a large colored stone (maybe sapphire) pendant, a Patek Philippe watch, and a big diamond feather amongst the gifts.

On the 10th was the Majlis Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja or Royal Powdering Ceremony when the couples' family applies colored paste and scented oils to their hands. It's my favorite part of Bruneian royal weddings because of the beautiful outfit worn by the bride. It looks like Anisha used the same gold jewelry as Mateen's sisters except for the belt. She also wore the same diamond earrings that Princess Fadzillah and Princess Azemah wore for their powdering ceremonies.

The Akad Nikah was next which is when the couple are officially married. On the left is Prince Mateen at the Berbedak and on the right is him at the Akad Nikah.

The Majlis Bersanding Pengantin Diraja and parade on the 14th finally brings us the first tiara! The now Princess Anisha wore some major diamonds and a simple dress made of a beautiful woven patterned fabric. We got new information about the tiara that was first worn last year by Princess Azemah. It was made by Singapore based jeweler, Flower Diamond, and features over 132 carats of diamonds.

The Majlis Persantapan Diraja on the 15th is the last big event. It's a massive banquet at Istana Nurul Iman with around 5,000 guests. Princess Anisha wore Queen Saleha's Diamond Tiara which has been worn by several of her new sisters-in-law for their wedding celebrations. She did not use the optional heart diamond center but did use the blue and pink diamond toppers.

The Inaugural Writer's Meow Meow Mock Draft

Ok so I had a fun hypothetical with some fellow writers. The premise being: if there was a fantasy draft of girl group idols where each pick represents who you get to call your "Meow Meow" in the writer's discord and no one else can call them that, what would be your draft strategy? Would there be a lot of biases picked first? 3rd gen? 4th gen?

"yeah,aaieee," you giggled at your little girl. Right now instead of eating her food she played with the large diamond ring on your left ring finger. Her eggs were long forgotten as watched the engagement ring in awe. Under it sat a small silver band engraved on the inside with 11/04/12 and then 23/11/25 the days the two of you got together. Ushijima seemed hesitant on adding the original date, but you told him how important that day was for you and it was clear how important that day was for him too.

April 12th, 2011

Ushjima had come to your family's house just as the sun had begun to set and the birds chirped ready for bed. He politely knocked on the door then bowed to your father asking if he could take you on a quick adventure. Believe it or not Ushijima Wakatoshi didn't have the same amount of confidence when it came to your parents as he did on the court. As a 16 year old boy he was still nervous that they wouldn't see him as a good suitor for you. He was more than ecstatic when your dad gave him a small smile and said yes he may. You were far too excited to see him that you had run out of the house without a jacket. You had only noticed when the two of you had walked by Ushijima's house. He quickly climbed into his open window and grabbed the first hoodie he found. His new Shiratorizawa hoodie his mom had gotten for him when he had just got accepted into the school. You giggled watching the tall man try and fit through his tiny window. You knew a little about his mom and how strict she was, but you never realized how much he had risked when he snuck out to see you. Running back he whisked you away from your thoughts by trying to get his hoodie over your head. You giggled attempting to help him. He was like a big puppy not realizing his own strength and aggression until it was too late. Seeing the panicked look on his face, worried he hurt you, you took hold of his hand and swung it a little to get him to lead the way. After walking a bit through a clearing and past a small stream there was a field full of cherry blossoms, your favorite.

After Sakura had eaten most of the eggs you lifted her up and handed her to her father while you cleaned her chair. She looked much more like you then 'jima, but she had his signature hair color making her clearly her father's child. You had gotten pregnant not long after the wedding ceremony…which wasn't surprising considering how many times you asked Wakatoshi to make you a mommy again, and then all the times you chanted it during sex. Doesn't 1 John 1:8-9 contradict with OSAS/perseverance of the saints since it says that if we say not to have sinned when we did sin we make God a liar and the truth is not in us, and IF we confess it He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness? Where it would logically follow if we hide our sin he will NOT cleanse us, so it seems from this passage that salvation CAN be lost in that case. I discussed this with an OSAS believer named Ryan Rufus (he's on YT, but no need to watch his sermons, they are very weird, too much eisegesis and too little scripture, reminds me of Benny Hinn if you ask me) and he said that 1 John 1:9 was written to gnostics, not Christians. Your reponse?

Confessing that you are a sinner and need Jesus to save you is essential to saving faith. You cannot be forgiven and made righteous if you do not agree with God that you need saving and ask Him to save you.

Ask any person that God has genuinely saved, "Are you a sinner?" and you will always get an affirmative answer. Before God saves us, our predisposition is self-righteousness, to proclaim our own goodness or to redefine what good is (Prov 20:6; Isa 5:20). After God saves us, He opens our eyes, convicting us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, so that we know who we really are and start thinking His way instead of our own way (Isa 55:7).

Can Christians still sin even after God has opened their eyes? Yes. We are all commanded to continually put off what we used to be and put on what we are (Col 3:8-10). Can Christians fall into a pattern of sin and try to cover it up? Yes. Look at the lengths David went to so he could cover up his sin with Bathsheba. But God's grace always arrests the genuine believer, intervening to bring that conviction back and produce repentance.

Can a Christian love sin and call it good or claim he is going to heaven because of his own righteousness? No. If someone claims to be a Christian but does not believe or obey God's Word then he is showing his faith is worthless (Jas 2:14). He was never changed by God to begin with because God always makes a new creation when He unites them to Christ (2 Cor 5:17).

Salvation from beginning to end is a work of God's grace. God decided in eternity past that He was going to save sinners, and He doesn't save anyone part way. Those He predestined, He justified, and those He justified, He glorified, and nothing in all creation can separate us from His love (Rom 8:29, 39).

God didn't make us righteous and then tell us, "You have to be righteous from now on or you're out." 1. We can't do that, we can never be perfectly righteous this side of heaven (1 John 1:8). 2. That would make salvation dependent upon us and give us reason to boast. The only reason the saints persevere in the faith is because God is working in them to will and to work (Phil 2:13). If for one second He stopped working in us, we would fail, but God will never abandon those He purchased through His Son.
