damn, firefox pulled new xkit for violating terms but luckily you can just enable it again. apparently its bc xkit automatically reacts to updates in tumblrs source code and mozilla doesnt like that anymore.

Location: Copper's House

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He had been in Cardinal Hill for three days. Not immediately running to his brother’s house had been excruciating, but he wanted to make sure he had somewhere to stay figured out, knew the layout of the town, and most importantly, know that his brother truly was in town. Copper’s biological family had been from Cardinal Hill, and Aris thought it was interesting that his brother found himself back in his hometown. He tried not to dwell on the implications, which were probably just his stressors manifesting.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎After striking up a conversation with a friendly stranger from the diner (he couldn’t quite remember his name, but he had a kind smile and seemed eager to help Aris - seemed like he knew Copper, too), Aris’ new companion had offered to drive him. During the drive, the two of them engaged in small talk, and boy, this guy could really talk. During the drive, he thought about what Copper would say when he knocked on that door. He was a little leaner, grew out his hair, had a little bit of a beard situation going on, and probably looked a little more tired than he’d remember. It’d been an interesting year.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Anxiety filled his stomach as he stepped out of the car, thanking the figure for driving him. This town really is friendly. I can see why Coop came here. He wasn’t sure how this was going to go. It would either go great, and Aris would have his brother back and, hopefully, their sister with some convincing, or it could blow up in his face. The scenario in which Copper expressed anger with him for following him to Cardinal Hill was one that he’d thought of many times, but hoped that it wouldn’t come to fruition. During the ride over, he thought of himself, and how he’d feel if their roles were reversed. I mean… I don’t think I’d be mad. Confused? Shit. I really should have thought a little more about this. Now that I’m here I don’t know what the fuck to expect. Only one way to find out.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Aris started walking toward the door, feeling his heart thump in his chest. The silence was excruciating, the only sounds permeating the morning air being his footsteps and his own heartbeat. He still talked to Copper, so why was he so nervous? It’s not like all communication stopped. Maybe he was so anxious because everything was so unknown. He didn’t know if his brother wanted to see him. If he did, wouldn’t he have told him where he was moving? His own hand felt foreign as he reached toward the door, fingers folded into a fist and… he knocked. Suddenly, another thought popped into his head. Oh fuck, I hope this is the right address.‎ ‎As the door opened, Aris smiled and opened his arms, saying, “Hey Copper… you gonna give me a hug or what?”

I love how the apparent solution to Tumblr being "too confusing" is to just make it look as much like Twitter as possible. Are Twitter users truly so stupid that you have to completely wash away Tumblr's UI identity so they can figure out how to use the damn site? Maybe I'm too hopeful, but I sincerely think Twitter users could figure it out??? There are certainly things that could be streamlined and change is inevitable etc but did they have to make a change that so radically changes the CORE tumblr experience??? good lord
