who do you think uae gets weapons from lol
Omg braindead discourse yayyyyyyy
If I run you over, hypothetically, from a bought car and that the seller might be aware of my intentions who would be to blame? Me or the seller?
Both you say and you're absolutely right. But more blame would be put on me and this would be generally understood that I was the one thirsting for murder so I would have bought the car from someone else for sure
Right? But no. In that post™ what happens is that you're putting more of the blame on the seller. And that's what I have issue with
You mention the seller again and again before you vaguely mention me only once. Heck you also mention a shitty friend if mine before you mention me
That's the hypocrisy I had issue with.
Why do y'all think the US is so fucking important and the stagemaster behind every act. Why is there so much hesitance in blaming the UAE for their horrible acts. Why is Israel mentioned before the UAE in a post about a war that it has nothing to do with
#now im aware OOP might not have been us american#but a general trend among the users of this site who are mostly us americans but also the others#is too over exxagerate the role of the US#theyre not that important#people are allowed to be evil without their permission#asky#anon my beloved#even though braindead

Finished! So this is what I can say:
Worth watching? As MS fan certainly yes, but also if you are a generic viewer a bit of culture never hurts. On the contrary, if you are a viewer who just wants to relax on the sofa watching a regular drama/romantic/action movie with a straightforward plot, or you are not a fan of the dystopian/fantasy/intellectual genre then pass over. This is also the reason why the reviews are divided. It could be seen as a masterpiece or as a huge flop.
I find this movie a 'confession'. Like I previously said, it's like to watch everything that is in MS's brain: his passions, his political ideas, his dreams, his nightmares, his feelings, his CV, his insticts, his fears, his traumas, his abilities, his faults, his version of the past/present/future, his culture, his tastes, his environment. Just under acid/alcohol effect and all at once (a bit like this video). So, be prepared. I think it's not the first time he makes a thing like this, a show where to tell his personal story 'undercover': he did it with Memory Lane, he did it (and he's still doing it) playing certain characters in his movies/shows. But here he's the master in control of everything.
The plot: to me is a pretext. A similar story would have been more understandable for a bigger audience with a different/fictional setting (like Gilead in The Handmaid's Tale), but obviously he chose Port Talbot because it's HIS town, HIS movie, HIS choice. Pity that kind of reality makes the movie 'absurd', not for the topic, but for the lack of credibility of certain events, too much exxagerated/emphasized or quick to look real. The reasons behind some events look a bit stretched and some situations/dialogues fall down into the clichè or rhetoric.
From the technical point of view is very well made: beautiful shots, magical landscapes, good actors, complex action scenes, original editing, visual effects and an interesting soundtrack. No question, he knew how to tell a story, what to show or not, to catch your attention. You can see his experience.
The references/Easter eggs: since it was HIS movie he obviously put his personal touch in everything. He included some stuff he posted on his Twitter account (Percy, the sandwich) in the last months, he took inspiration from his past works (I recognized Fantabulosa!, Masters of Sex, H.G. Wells, The Adventurer, Prodigal Son) or other movies, from songs he likes (maybe also the red monk), from literature and books he read. He recruited mostly Welsh actors (famous and not), all good - though I think Luke Evans deserved more space (his character looked taken from a comic book) and some actors were not enough captivating on the screen. He also casted some friends (Kezrena James/Under The Milk Wood/Nye, Paul Rhys/Gallowglass/The Deal, Mark Lewis Jones/Apostle, Aneurin Barnard/The Adventurer) and family members (AL, GT, his cousin Caroline Sheen). Just about it, it's impossible not to notice the roles he gave (or not) to some of them. GT playing a wife in a 'gay swinging scene' with her neighbours in a kitchen similar to hers (we know that MS and DT are neighbours at the moment in London and we know the fanfictions about MS/DT/GT/AL - also, the fact that scene was not strictly necessary for the story says a lot), AL playing a mother with her baby in a park (as useful as a wallpaper). It's like he staged the reality or the desires of his current life. There are also lines that make you wonder if they were inspired by situations he experienced on his skin (and in this case they let you think how much they can have affected his current state of mind).
All above said, I think The Way is an ambitious, peculiar, thoughtful and intelligent project, unfortunately not enough mainstream or not easy to follow for those who don't know MS's tastes. A treasure box of MS's mind that needs the right key to be appreciated.
Hello! I would like to know your opinion on The Way (if you've already watched it)? Was it worth watching or not?
Hi, Anon!
So far I've watched just the first episode, so my opinion is limited. I'll say that it's not the kind of movie I would spontaneously watch without MS but what I can confirm is that this movie IS MS. It's like to spy in MS's mind, his thoughts, his feelings, his culture, his ideals, his dreams, his fears, things he has lived, things he has said, things he has seen or heard. If you have followed him on Twitter during these years you'll find a lot of references (to his movies too) and also a lot of Easter eggs. It's very well made for a director-beginner even though it could be a bit chaotic like his mind lately and not so easy to follow. But I'll add other comments at the end of the view. ;)
