2x01 Summer Kind of Wonderful
SEASON TWO HERE WE GO.
I was dying to get here, this is one of my favorite episodes in the whole show. It’s also the episode were I really turned into a Chair shipper, so there’s that too, also The Hamptons!! Honestly was not to love about this episode.
I think this is the longest recap I’ve done in a while. As usaul recap under the cut.
Tumblr media
Thoughts I had while watching:
I’ve watched this before and yet I’m still surprised our first taste of S2 is Nate going at it
After the super promising tease on Nate and Serena on the S1 turns out... she’s covering for him while he sleeps around... 😒
Chuck being Chuck, still a womanizer, still obsessed with Blair and as always ignoring Serena’s disgusted face. Also hilarious his enormous basket with cuttlery and such.
Look Joe Goldberg!!! Or is it Dan Humphrey? This bookstore setting is making it even more confusing.
Hi Jenny! And her never ending disatisfaction with her place at whatever she’s trying.
This scene between Chuck and Serena is so underrated. Her mocking face is hilarious. Pimp all you want Chuck it’s useless. Good luck in your suicide mission indeed.
What’s a Jitney? 😆How about where Blair returns to the Hamptons with a new beau. On your face Chuck Bass! On the words of GG: ain’t karma a bitch? We know Blair Waldorf is.
“A hot lifeguard is like Kleenex: use once and then throw away, you couldn’t ask for a better rebound” so says Blair 🤔
“The only thing lamer than dating Dan Humphrey is mourning Dan Humphrey” speaking words of wisdom Blair Waldorf
Of course all the wisdom goes out the window when Chuck appears. With the most extra polo ever and the shortest shorts in the history of menswear
Not that Blair wasn’t transparent with all her talk about James but oh my god Serena’s is so bad a going along with it.
“You’re lying. Your eyes are doing that thing were they don’t match your mouth” Chuck Bass: a walking manual on Blairisms
“I bet you’ll like him as much as I do” “If by that you mean I won’t like him at all then you’re right” meanwhile Serena is trying to pretend she’s anywhere else and not there silent witness to that verball pin pong
I always wonder how Jenny and Dan end up being like that with a Dad like Rufus
So this is “Jenny admitting she was a bitch and that Eric didn’t deserve it” first season.
“A honk instead of a knock? Did someone order a townie?" Blair’sn lines this episode are hilarious
I feel bad thinking that Nate’s main contribution so far is looking really good without a shirt.
Chuck Bass: a walking encyclopedia on everything Blair Waldorf.
If only the show had given us more Chuck and Cece interactions.
I feel I should have kept a score for all the Chuck and Blair jibes to each. That pin play on Blair’s part was check mate though. Auch. I almost feel bad for Chuck. Almost
In terms of cinematography that scene were they talk about the pin is gorgeous probably my fave in the show only behind that scene in Paris in S4. The matching outfits, the colors and the scenery are sooo good. Also the acting.
Knowing her like he does it’s interesting Chuck doesn’t realize Blair only gave that pin to James to hurt him. But the fact that it works is very telling on Chuck’s insecurities and feelings.
Nate being kicked out so the husband won’t catch him wouldn’t be half as hilarious if it wasn’t for Serena’s “no effing way face”
“Damn that Motherchucker” a novel by Blair Waldorf
I love Blair’s summer dress by the way
“All I could see was that Chuck Basstard” the sequel novel, also by Blair Waldorf
What a difference a summer makes: Nate and Chuck talking about Blair. I do feel Nate’s like “thank god it ain’t me anymore”
“And unlike you I don’t lose something if I let it out of my sight” Blair strikes again, this girl is on fire.
This episode is kind of proving that I barely care for any other storyline that doesn’t have the original four. After those two side by side arguments, getting back to Dan is really annoying
I kind of love it when Rufus points out to Dan how he never stops talking and doesn’t let anyone else said anything. Is kind of boring already how he only seems to write about Serena and the UES.
Chuck’s cricket outfit reminds me of how I should enjoy the crazy outfits while they last.
Ofc Chuck’s has a PI on speed dial Eric, duh. Gotta love him though: “i know that face, that face is not your friend” sorry Nate
I’m still trying to come up with the reason why the show let the fake dating storyline between Nate and Serena be such a waste. Whyyyy????
Just in case I forget: this white party was sponsored by Vitamin Water. For real there’s product placement and then there’s this.
The constrast between Serena looking like a greek goddess next to Nate’s I didn’t bother of an outfit is making me dizzy.
Chuck’s outfit for the white party kind of deserves a post of his own. Then again is probably my fave outfit of his on the whole show.
James calling out Blair for using him, while mentioning charade feels kind of overplayed now. Anyway he’s already pointing out how Blair and Chuck are the same and that’s why they deserve each other.
“Don’t you see? We’re the same? Stop trying to fight it” “I will fight it to my last dying breath because any resemblance to you is something I would hate about myself” this whole dialogue feels like a premonition.
Serena and Nate kissing and being totally into it while paparazzi plays is the background is just one of those moments. This is the kind of content I’m here for. Only to be ruined by Dan Humphrey.
And here we are again Dan getting mad when he doesn’t have a right to, thankfully karma is a thing in the form of drinks poured all over him
And somehow is Serena the one busy cleaning that suit, useless Dan is useless
Chuck’s “I’m so screwed” face when his PI tells him Blair’s guy is actually a british Lord is priceless.
THREE WORDS EIGHT LETTERS SAY IT AND IM YOURS.
Epic scene aside they both look so good here. This episode is gift in matching outfits.
Dan, Serena and fireworks. 😪 here we go again
Tumblr media
I loved this episod the first time I watched it and I think I love it even more so now. It’s really good, full of funny lines, great outfits and epic moments. Season two is as of now my fave season (i think this is also true for many people) and it starts with a bang. Quite literally actually with the opening scene being Nate going at it with an “older” woman, which I guess was meant to be shocking in part because we ended last season wondering if something was going to happen between Nate and Serena.
Sadly it didn’t and that’s my biggest complain for this episode because how on earth did they thought it was ok to waste all that set up, and to add insult to the injury they are like so Serena and Nate are secretly dating... but it is just like a throway line because except for that amazing kiss at the white party we never see them fakee dating and I honestly want to pull my hair out of frustration. Just imagine the possibilities that weren’t, granted fake dating is one of my favorite tropes but it could have been quite the storyline imagine: Serenate fake dates and that sparks the feelings that were pushed aside on S1 but that were always there, and now there’s nothing that can stop them to act on it, except Serena has feelings for Dan too, and she struggles because of it all the first half of S1 until eventually she picks Dan and breaks Nate’s heart, combined with all the other pressures in his life, he wants something easy and this happens to coincide with Blair’s downright spiral and that’s how Nair happens again in the second half of S2.
My point being you could add so many more moments in the Serenate saga, also give more force to the idea the show always tried to do: that Serena can’t really let go of Dan, because Nate and her are quite something and yet... and still have almost the same story on the second half which was important because it gave closure to Nair and also had both Chuck and Blair realizing a couple of things. Alas one can only dream and be happy that at least we got that kiss at the white party
So back to the episode, we learn that Nate is having and affair with a married woman, Serena misses Dan a lot and basically mourned him the whole summer meanwhile he was being an asshole in the City fooling girls he met at his intership and Jenny is working and trying to stand out in her own internship at Waldorf desings. Which reminds me Eric is such a gem of a character, he’s always have good one liners but whe’s also a nice counter balance to all the manipulation and bitchery going around him. Anyway all of these storylines are barely a tease of what’s coming, and they really take off in the next episode, so I’ll get into them then, so at the end of the episode Nate manages to keep the affair goin into the city, Jenny earns a bit of respect from her boss and Serena and Dan see each other again (thanks to Cece which is another character I wish we had see a bit more) they meet at the beach ready to see if there’s something to salvage between them. We’ll see.
The real star of this episode are Chuck and Blair. This episode belongs to them. I’ve seen comments that claim this is the season that made them epic and really take off and I quite agree, and this episode in particular sets up the stage for it, touching on a lot of the aspects that are going to be their arc for this season and even beyond. So at the end of S1 Chuck stands up Blair and she goes alone to Tuscany and he doesn’t goes after her the whole summer. Instead he spends the summer in The Hamptons being Chuck Bass, she ends up in France. We soon learn that while Chuck  enjoyed himself during the summer Blair wasn’t far off in his mind:, the minute she’s back he goes aftet her, roses in hand only to find out she came back with a new guy, and she does everything in her power to rub that fact in his face which Chuck should have expected, it obviously bothers him but truth is they both know this is just Blair trying to get back at him for abandoning her, he hurt her, she obviously doesn’t tell him but he ruined his summer and she couldn’t stop thinking about the motherchucker
Tumblr media
Shenanigans ensue but there are bits that really stand out: first of them the heart pinn. That's a telling bit about Chuck’s feelings, when that pin make its first appearance on S1 it was the beginning of the end for Chuck, the meaning of it was what got her to accept going to Cotillion with Nate  and now she has gave it to James and Chuck buys it because I guess part of him couldn’t believe she would go as far as to use that to hurt him, that’s a low blow and she also didn’t gave it to him that week they were going out after the wedding, even though it went really well but most importantly he believes she can’t really feel that way about him because he’s just not the kind of guy someone can feel something for, but specially someone  like Blair Waldorf, who dreams of finding her prince charming and such, and to his utter horror it’s revealed that Blair’s new guy is actually a british lord. Just his luck.
He’s anything but that, therefore not for Blair. He tells her as a much later in the episode when he let’s her know that he basically stood her up because he was afraid of her getting to really know him and see he was not good enough nor someone she could be with. And this is something that’s going to be quite the struggle for him for a long time, more than once during the show he’s going to remove himself from the picture because he believes she deserves someone better who can actually make her happy, and this season this happens quite a few times.
Thing is nothing is ever that simple, and this is the other bit that really stands out for me: when James calls her out on how she just use him to make Chuck jealous she justifies herself by pointing out Chuck’s an awful person, who lies and deceives so he kinds of deserve it, and James points out the fact that well she’s sort of the same, and they deserve each other. She lashes out at Chuck because of this and blames him for her argument with James, it’s his fault she played with James, and Chuck’s point out that no one force her to do anything she did it because they’re the same, meaning they scheme and manipulate to get what they want, so she should just stop fighting this thing between them, she rejects him claiming she would hate any resamblance to him. This whole argument is honestly quite interesting, because variations of it are going to keep popping up the rest of the show, and depending on who you ship you either take literally as if  Chuck is the root of Blair worst tendencies or rather see this argument as representation of Blair struggles not with Chuck, but with herself.
Blair struggles in accepting herself, at her core she’s an insecure person, and the fact that she has a dark side that she can’t exactly change because it’s so deep roothed in her bothers her even before she and Chuck were anything, to me it bothers her not because she really wishes she was nice & good person, but rather because Serena is  nice person, who’s regarded as literal ray of sunshine at times, and Serena got two things she wanted for the longest time: positive atention from Eleanor and Nate’s interest. So that fight within herself was always there, it didn’t appear the day she started dating Chuck, is just that in the same way they brought out the best in each other, when things go bad between them the opposite sometimes happened, and even then when they blame each other for something half the time it was to share some of the hurt and to avoid dealing with their own shortcomings and mistakes. Truthfully Chuck and Blair did something for each other no one had really done for them they accept each other fully, Blair’s able to accept and love his darkness, and for Chuck there’s no darkness in Blair she’s the way she is and that’s what makes her wonderful. It was easier for them to love each other than to love themselves.
Tumblr media
Finally the biggest stand out of the episode is that iconic scene, the one that really puts into place the dynamic they will have for the rest of the season: Three words, eight letters are brought to the table, and they won’t move forward until the words have been said. It makes sense, because they tried this twice before, the first one came out of nowhere and it ended with Chuck getting dumped in favor of Nate, and that burned him badly, the second one Blair was the one who got hurt, and both times this pretty much happened because they aren’t able of telling each other how they feel, particularly Chuck. The first time he didn’t let her know he actually cared and wanted to be with her, the second one he didn’t tell her he was afraid, and all of this was too much too soon. So Blair wants, needs some kind of reassurance, and it makes me wonder how that week after the wedding really went, what happened? how wonderful it must have been that even though he abandoned her a that helipad she still had hope in the fact that he may love her. He doesn’t say it, and yet I still love this moment so much for  because jus by asking him to say it is in some way an admittance on her own feellings, and he fails to saythe words  but he did try, and the fact that he did try is also a form of admittance and as such  from here on no matter what happens, how much they fight and toy with each other there’s always an undercurrent of love behind their actions, and this is (borrowing a phrase from a certain popstar) the most amazing unspoken dialogue ever.
Random bits I’ve noticed
Chuck has a bouquet of yellow roses for his intent on getting Blair back. If my memory serves right, those were his mom favorites
I’m such a sucker for the little backdrop details like the Van der Bass house having all these background pictures of the wedding
Thanks to Chuck for giving us the rank on Blair’s favorite films: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday & Funny Face (even if he said Charades to prove a point)
I’ve read somewhere I think it was on twitter that Blair’s crying in the garden scene was unscripted, Leighton did because she got really caught up in the scene particularly by Ed’s acting. I’ve looked it up but so far I haven’t found anything on this.
There’s a bunch of miniature cyclists under the mirror where Cece’s doing the final touches to her hair, looks sort of weird.
that vitamin water is even on the invitation, agust 30, 2008.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Part 1 - First game (Turnabout Sisters, Turnabout Samurai and Turnabout Goodbyes)
Tumblr media
So, I was going to buy this on Steam, but then I recently got a Nintendo Switch (so I can play Code Realize and Collar x Malice next year loll), and it was on sale! Since I had no games (I bought World End Syndrome but it’s not here yet), and I really wanted to try playing stuff, so I bought it XD Two of my friends really recommend it as well, so yeah I would have bought it some day anyway~ I think I should have bought an SD card with bigger storage than 64gb though… (EDIT: I did...)
Anyway, the game! It’s a bit sudden to be thrown into trial all of a sudden, but Wright is a newbie lawyer anyway so I guess it’s all good loll. Kinda funny that the questions the reader has to answer are simple stuff like the victim’s name etc but I guess it helps you get used to remembering things, and looking over evidence etc if you don’t remember. Because I did forget the victim’s name hahaha. Honestly though, the style of the game is really cool and different, I really like the transitions for effect and I love the big font “hold it!” and “objection!” has hahaha. Mia is very helpful. In terms of the case itself, it was a simple and silly one, mainly because of Larry, he’s so dramatic and ridiculous, it’s funny. Note though, this is probably blasphemy to others but I’m playing with a walkthrough (i.e. I pick my answers and then double check with the walkthrough), I just don’t find it fun or have the time to explore wrong answers anymore tbh (backlog of VNs is long, I’ve got at least 6 more games). Anyway, I like how the game wants you to think but you don’t necessarily need to think too hard (for now), and it’s all done in a not so serious way that makes it fun. Like, I loved it when the judge said Larry was not guilty and confetti started falling down on the screen hahahaha. I think this game will be a great break from Steins;Gate 0 right now lol.
Tumblr media
Turnabout Sisters I remember trying to watch the anime of Ace Attorney (which sucked, it was like the game but all the fun was gone because it was less interactive yet still played out like a game, it was weird) and being shocked that Mia died. I was so sad because I liked her, she seemed nice and cool. I kinda forgot about all that until this part started up and then I was like oh yeah!! Poor sister got arrested for it though, but I guess Phoenix needs a reason to do something. It was saddening when the sister didn’t have anyone to defend her😞 It was sweet when he decided to defend her, since he became a lawyer because he wanted to become someone that could look out for people who had no one by their side… When he says it like that…it’s hard to not admire how kind he is.
Lmaooo at Miss May and the bellboy though, I love how weirdly crazy they both are. May is like fake and sweet when she’s in her “cute” mode, but becomes super aggressive when angered (such as being caught out for lying), and the bellboy is just thankful that now the hotel is more popular because a murderer (May is being suspected now) lived there hahahaha. Everyone is so eccentric in this world. I find their mother’s story saddening though, she was probably pressured by the police into finding the culprit for a case with her spirit medium powers, but then she failed and the media got wind of it, and the backlash she received as a “fake” made her disappear. Disgusted that Grossberg was the one who told White (Mia’s killer) about the medium thing for money, and White then leaked it to the media! But I think the worst is that Mia tried her best all these years to out White for being the one who ruined her mother’s life (as well as many others with his blackmailing leading them to suicide), but she got killed by him… It’s so unfair.. I’m glad Maya is out though, and lmao at her taking it so seriously when you pick the option of telling her to help break Phoenix out (since he’s in detention now for suspected murder because of White’s influence). She’s so cute hahaha.
Well, that was a crazy trial lol, not only was White a chronic liar that was allowed to “amend” his testimony several times, Edgeworth was pretty apt at trying to keep him from being caught. I knew the receipt would show when the lamp was bought! Kinda obvious when he mentioned that he saw it last week I guess, gotta catch him somewhere haha. I guess the lesson is to update your furniture often so you can catch murderers😂 It was really nice to see Mia’s spirit inside Maya helping Phoenix and cheering them on in the epilogue though, I wonder if we’ll see her again? I definitely like Mia more than Maya😞 But I guess with Maya, they’ll learn and grow together as they do their best for the law office?
Tumblr media
Turnabout Samurai I love Oldbag, she’s so whatever with everything, she’s hilarious. Not only does she talk nonstop complaining about young people these days, she really knows how to drag people into her pace lol. The defendant Will looks like a lion hahaha, except he’s one with no teeth since he seems way too gentle to be able to do anything. Anyway, gotta love how dodgy Oldbag is by omitting evidence, remembering things suddenly, as well as exposing that the directors etc were actually there as well but the studio wanted her to hide it. Btw, I love it when Phoenix wants to buy time by accusing someone else of the murder, and one of the options was the grade school boy, and when you pick the option, even Phoenix himself is startled that he said it and he himself doesn’t even know how he should support this as a possibility since the kid couldn’t have held the weapon hahaha.
HAHAHA THE GREAT SAL MANELLA. That name lmaoo😂😂 Nice to see Mia again to help Phoenix, I love her and how she was so capable in getting the kid to talk. I found it really interesting going through the kid’s testimony, since it really presented a proper reason for the kid to lie and have obstructed the court from getting to know the truth. Not only is he a kid, he’s a kid that believes his hero Steel Samurai would never lose, so him deleting the photos of him losing to the villain and lying about him winning are plausible and interesting to uncover, I liked that part. I don’t know why I never thought of the possibility that Jack Hammer was actually the Steel Samurai, even though I questioned from the beginning whether Studio One was really where he was killed haha. Now that it’s apparent the victim dressed as the Steel Samurai and went to Studio Two where everyone else was, it is now possible for the producer and them to have killed the victim within the 15 minute break they had… Oh yeah lmao when the kid came to testify and he was too short so they got him a box to stand on, I love little details like that hahaha.
Well, I really liked that! I really liked how everything ended up wrapping up and how the story tied together. I had some trouble (as usual!) with the presenting evidence parts (because I suck), but yeah that was great! I don’t know why it never clicked, but I really missed the thought that Hammer was the one who wanted to kill Vasquez and that’s why he did all that pretending to be the Steel Samurai and hiding his tracks etc, so he could blame the killing on Powers after. He had enough of being blackmailed and used by Vasquez these 5 years for accidentally killing a person on set (of which she covered up, since someone took a photo of it). It’s kinda ironic that he ended up dying in the same way as the person he accidentally killed. Maybe Studio Two really is cursed lol. But yeah, anyway, I really liked the piecing of all the evidence and clues! Seeing it unravel the way it did really made sense, especially when things I noticed but didn’t know what to think about were talked about, such as the small incinerator next to the van. I couldn’t piece together the story myself, but when they did, it was great, I liked this case. I also really liked how Edgeworth suddenly switched sides and started questioning the witness and the holes in her testimony as well because he knew that she was the killer and he wanted to catch her in her lies, since Phoenix missed some things. They were a nice combo haha.
Tumblr media
Turnabout Goodbyes I didn’t think Edgeworth would become a defendant! But I guess what I’m most shocked about is that Edgeworth’s father was the victim in the DL-6 incident involving Mia and Maya’s mother, Misty Fey who was the spirit medium helping out with the case that led her to be labelled as a fraud. Edgeworth seems to really like Phoenix but can’t seem to be honest for some reason, hmmm, and I guess his father’s death is related to why he threw away his dream of becoming a great defence attorney like his father and instead became a prosecutor? Oh.. Edgeworth actually witnessed his father’s murder…and the suspect they caught was the one Misty pointed out as the killer through talking to the victim’s spirit, since he was the only one that could have done it, and yet he was declared innocent with the help of the defence attorney at that time, Hammond. And now, the victim in the current case is Hammond… I guess the police would think of that as Edgeworth’s motive to kill him… I wonder if Edgeworth lost all faith in defence attorneys because of that incident with his father.. But I’m happy that the weird Detective Gumshoe really respects Edgeworth and believes in him even though others don’t, I thought it was really nice that he acknowledged and believes that they can really work hard to capture criminals because they know that Edgeworth will prosecute them for their crimes. It’s like they both believe in their work and through that, they do their best to catch these criminals.
Well, it was obvious that the girl was dodgy because it’s definitely impossible to see who shot who when it’s foggy, and at night, and at a far distance! But it’s helpful to prove that she wasn’t even focused on the boat and was looking for the “monster” Gourdy that supposedly appears there. Gotta admit that Karma is hilarious, especially when he insults the witness’s intelligence for looking for a monster hahahaha. Also loved it when even the judge couldn’t go against him and followed his pace, glad the judge eventually stood his ground though lol. I still find it so fascinating that in this world, all trials must be tried and decided within 3 days so that the justice system isn’t clogged with cases. Aww it was so sweet to learn from Gumshoe that Edgeworth really appreciated Maya causing a fuss in the trial and giving the opportunity for Phoenix to cross examine what Lotta slipped up on. Lmao when he told Phoenix that Edgeworth would pay for her bail and he started thinking about whether Edgeworth would pay his rent for this month too hahahaha. Omgg, lmao at Gourdy the monster actually being Larry trying to inflate the Steel Samurai balloon and failing, causing it to fly like a rocket into the lake lolll. I guess he does deserve having the dog eat all his Samurai dogs loll. It was expected, but it’s kinda funny to see Larry come to save the day when Edgeworth was declared guilty haha.
Tumblr media
Omgg, their back story was so touching! I thought it was so cute seeing little Edgeworth say “objection!”, and Edgeworth is right, if there’s no evidence, and if he didn’t do it, then he shouldn’t admit it! I also loved Larry saying “if he didn’t do it, then he didn’t do it”, those words were so simple but so true. I can’t believe the whole class put Phoenix on “class trial” to get him to admit something he didn’t do, and even the teacher didn’t believe him, like whaaat, great teaching right there. But I guess it’s because of how dodgy they all were, Phoenix, Larry and Edgeworth got to become friends. I found it really sweet that although Edgeworth transferred out because of the DL-6 incident, and never contacted them again, and ignored Phoenix when he tried to talk to him, it was really touching of Phoenix to become a defence attorney just so that he can meet Edgeworth again. Edgeworth is a prosecutor so regardless of what he wanted, he’d have to face Phoenix eventually and I thought that was really cute. Lmao at Larry completely forgetting about such an impactful incident on Phoenix’s life, but it’s so him. He’s silly, but he’s a great guy, and he really helped out with this testimony! It was all over the place, but he heard really important things and you gotta be glad he came to save the day! I honestly didn’t expect the murder to have occurred before midnight, and that the one in the boat with Edgeworth was actually not the victim but the murderer. It’s honestly…hard to believe and accept that Edgeworth could be the one who killed his father when he threw a gun (evidence?) that was lying next to him to protect his father from Yogi who was deprived of oxygen. I’m still sceptical of that though, what about the hole in the glass? And why would there be a person telling Yogi to get revenge on Edgeworth etc for ruining his life (for being suspected, losing his career etc) and making him kill Hammond etc. Whyyyy would they show von Karma the letter!! It’s such crucial evidence!! I’m not surprised he used a stun gun on them to steal the letter back!
Anyway, that was good, I really liked this case. I think the most saddening thing was discovering that Yogi really was innocent and really had his whole life ruined from this incident. It was terrible to hear that Hammond got him an innocent verdict but it was actually at the cost of declaring him of unsound mind, so he’s been pretending to be “insane” all these years, especially after his fiancee committed suicide after this incident. He wasn’t wrongly accused for being the murderer and yet he still lost his career, his partner and everything in his life. It was really saddening to think about tbh. As for von Karma, when this case first came about, I really didn’t expect him to be the killer in the DL-6 incident, I thought he was interestingly eccentric with how he wants everything to be perfect and was super arrogant and would always strive for guilty verdicts but I guess with the comedy in the game, I didn’t really expect the cost of his actions. He was caught for giving faulty evidence by Edgeworth’s father Gregory, and that is the one and only scar to his record. He’s been dodgy all this time and probably incriminating many innocent people in these 15 years at least, sigh. I guess I didn’t think that just because there was an opportunity, he would actually kill Gregory (when Miles threw the gun and it ended up landing near him). I also didn’t expect him to have been shot by that misfire and for him to never have taken that bullet out of his shoulder because he didn’t want to create any doctors as a witness to this! Which is understandable though, but wow, he’s pretty hardcore. So yeah, that was awesome and I think it was my favourite case! I really liked how things flowed and how everything ended up piecing together like that. It’s really cool to see how the evidence matches up together.
Tumblr media
Lmao at Larry having been the thief that stole Edgeworth’s money in that Phoenix class trial incident, I honestly thought it might be him but I was like nahh. And it was him hahahaha omg. I guess the deserves getting dumped by girls all the time lol. The photo Lotta took at the end was nice, I also really liked the little snippets showing all the previous witnesses lives, lmao at that bellboy becoming the owner or something lol! Although Maya isn’t useless and really helps Phoenix by just being there and helping him think through things etc, I do think it’s good for her to complete her spirit medium training first and then come back. It’s important for her to have her own goals and stuff after all, so I’m glad she did that.

I Know, Right? Whodathunk! || Pewdielew
It was happening again. And she was getting used to it. Shawna was sitting in the Gamma office, which looked like an extension of his room. She was tacking away at her laptop and doing spreadsheets and calculations. She originally volunteered her VP services to the Gamma house to help the school's budget and to do some research for her degree in project management.
"You guys bring in a lot of money. This is like the 3rd time this year you guys went over on community service hours and the 2nd with the budget," she whined, turning to the Swede.
"And what's the problem with that?" He asked indignant focusing on her.
"Ah, I dunno. How about when you gotta ask Theta for their extra money?"
"What do you even need the extra money for? Art supplies for your showcases?"
"No! We treat our whole house every year to a..um... ski-skiing trip," Shawna could explain that to officials, parents, hell- even her own family just fine. Right now, she struggled, something caught in her throat. A noise.
"A skiing trip?"
"It inspires us and we can- uhh..relax.." she trailed off.
"He told me he called you Ana since you first met, but the meaning changed after your first ski trip as vice president," Felix began, "He said it reminded him better of Anastasia Steel from Fifty Shades of Gray-"
"*gasps* He TOLD you that! He said he'd never tell anyone!"
"I'm not just anyone, Ana-" Felix couldn't finish before he had a pen flung in his direction.
"Look you two may be together and the Presidents of the houses, but..but.." Shawna began, getting frustrated and then looking at Felix, who seemed to be entertained by the fire he had lit inside of her.
"But...that's exactly what et means," Felix interjected, smirking devilishly, "I too get to go on those trips. And I get to give you a name. Cheer up, Ana. I'm very kind...at first. I really appreciate your hard work here but from what PJ told me you were fond of him. It just seemed interesting to me so I asked him why you two are like that and he told me to ask you if I felt so inclined. Why don't you take a break and talk about it?"
Shawna's shoulders dropped and so did her jaw. He was actually doing this, but she honestly felt better about him respecting her. She straightened herself and scratched the back of her hand, rolling down her sleeves and then took a deep breath.
I was sixteen.
Shawna had really liked Andrew and it was so out of nowhere. She and him had met over a book at their local library and simply agreed to read it together. From there, they had gotten to talking and a full year later he had asked her the question in front of her whole class.
She had never had so much kindness and romance showed to her before. He was even sympathetic to the times where she wouldn't speak, but back then she would just play it off like she had a throat infection. The infrequency of them made it seem like it, so she never brought it up. After about a year it would get old for Andrew and asked her parents what was wrong. Once he found out, he still couldn't wrap his head around her lying to him, but he put up with it.
Then, things got worse around seventeen.
Their playful antics were now full blown fights about her inability to fit in and how she didn't have any other friends. It wasn't true. She had friends. They were just online across the country. He claimed that didn't count. Her being pressured to have sex with him to the point that even his family turned a blind eye when she walked through the door to stay with him. He would force her to spend time at his house for weeks. He would simply tell them that she was fine and you know how young lovers are. Planned trips to places far as to stay off suspicion. Shawna knew he meant well. Shawna knew he loved her. Shawna knew it was going to be okay. She held her tongue and endured through another year and a half of being controlled, silenced, and pushed around.
If she was too sad, he'd leave her and ignore her knowing that he's all she's got. He became the cause of her silence, the lump in her throat staying for days. She lost her firsts to him- even her virginity. The night it happened was going fairly well as their "ok" days go until he started the fight about sex. She hadn't really been interested and he put their whole relationship on the line for it. Then-
She couldn't talk for weeks after that and took multiple showers a day just to think she could rinse off the memory. It just kept happening. Shawna put up with it. As long as it made them happy. They weren't fighting anymore, so maybe she was taking a little time to get over it. She never saw someone and would lie consistently to her friends(what little she had left that Andrew liked and trusted) and family; she would just try to talk to Andrew and he'd tell her how she felt or was supposed to feel. And if it fit and it came from someone she trusted, then it was okay, right?
Next thing she knew, they had been relying on one another, but only sexually. They would only work well and love one another when Andrew was in charge and Shawna was being the good girl she was supposed to be. This escape took over her whole life. Now those fun nights to spice things up were all they did, all that they talked about, all they wanted to do with one another. He would satisfy his sickest fantasies through her.
During one of their talks, because calm talks were hard to come by, Andrew explained everything about his childhood friend. She had known exactly who he was talking about and she had met her a few times. Then he said the most shattering thing to Shawna to date:
Look, I know we've been together for this long and I do love you...It's just, I grew up with Meghan and I just wanted to keep her close and made sure she knew that I cared. I had to make her believe I can be everything she wants me to be. And it worked! She really likes me for who I am. And she grew into herself so beautifully. Even more beautiful than you. So I just...wanted you to know that no matter what we go through. She's my end game. She's who I do all of this for. And with that being said, you will never be her. And you will never take her place. It's not like you can-anyway..
With such upset and frustration, Shawna understood and nodded carefully, tears streaming down her face and running her mascara. She really did know, but did he have to say it like that? Did he have to say it so far in?
Karma had a funny way of doing things. Even though Shawna had been not eating, not sleeping or never getting out of bed, and not going to school, she had taken to just being in her room. Finding comfort in the videos she made in secret to make herself feel better. For just a few hours, she forgot about Andrew. She forgot about Meghan. She forgot about all the things she endured. All the things she came to know, just to saturate herself in her imagination.  And it was while she was editing one of her videos that Shawna had gotten a call from Andrew's mother. She had explained how Andrew was at the hospital and was being admitted for mental health issues.
She never thought there was anything left in her to care for this..monster, but there she was driving to the hospital. But slowly. She didn't feel like driving like a maniac, especially since he's already been admitted. More importantly, she was angry with the reason why he had gotten admitted: Meghan had gotten into an accident with a drunk driver and was reportedly DOA. He had left his friend's house immediately to the scene of the accident and said nothing to Shawna. He claimed to be the girl's fiance so they would allow him to ride in the ambulance. Once they had made the call that she had died in the ambulance, Andrew had lost his mind and began threatening to jump out of the moving vehicle to join her if they didn't try harder to keep her alive. After the EMTs continued to explain that she was DNR upon her request as an organ donor, he was calm but he still contemplated suicide. He got out the ambulance and was immediately taken to get admitted and a psychological evaluation.
It had really dawned on her that there was no real reason for her to go and check up on him, but she was trying to be hopeful.
"So what happened after that?" Felix asked, stunned in silence previously at how things went in a totally different direction, but he wasn't surprised. If she was here. The story was going to be intense.
"He ignored me and basically wondered why I had even come because I wasn't his girl, and it was off and on with abuse and ostracization until I came here. At first, he was healing and was still kinda sorta sweet but just wouldn't give me any energy whatsoever. No more being possessive or manipulative towards me to get me to do what he asked until he became my bully for the rest of our junior year together. I had to repeat my junior year because I didn't come to school or do my assignments. Same thing the first like 6 months of the Institute, but then I had met PJ and he made it feel like it was undoing everything he had done and it was working backwards," Shawna explained, "So when I told him I wanted to be his vice he said that I had to continue taking my medications, start going to therapy again and ask for help when need be and quit whatever craziness I was doing with Mitchell-"
"Who the fuck is Mitchell?" he cut her off.
Her face sank as she felt like those wounds were still new, but took a deep breath, "He went to either here or the Institute and him and I really weren't a thing but drugs were more his thing because he believed he didn't need to take his meds to get better, so one day I was blasted out of my mind because they were still figuring out my behavioural medications and like a dumbass I thought he'd stop me from taking his medications because I threatened to do it if he wouldn't take them...Yeah...PJ kinda stepped in at that point and got me all cleaned up and on a routine and someone to talk to."
"PJ..PJ made sure you got better. Wow..that...that's amazing because it really seemed like you were just very screwed in the head, but now I get it...And I'm sorry...So..what's going to happen at this year's ski trip?" Felix asked.
"Well, that's the funny part, he's very hardworking all year, so PJ said I get one day all day to do whatever I want with him. And after that it's just work and hang when we can," Shawna explained, "He explained that he had a soft spot but he's not ready to fully commit or even be with anyone right now, so it works in the meantime. And he taught me how to have healthy relationships by doing that, but he also turned me into a workaholic."
"Clearly," he chuckled, shifting and biting his lip then checking his phone, "He's a really alright guy, huh?"
"Yeah. I love him, but not like-love, but family love or something, but it's not incest?" she rambled. It made Felix laugh at her train of thought. Her cheeks started to turn pink and she covered her mouth, then cleared her throat as she addressed the Swede while checking her phone briefly, "Uhmm..ahem..Can I get this done? I think you have-wait- you're late to a meeting with PJ."
"Whahuh?" the other asked, not sure how he had gotten lost, but it was sinking in what PJ saw in her, and why he did what he did, "Uhm...Shawna?"
"Yeah?"
"How well can you multitask?"
"Pretty well. My record is six things..why?"
"Can you..come to take meeting notes for us? The school's cracking down and wants to make sure the meetings are getting things done for the houses...and this paperwork needs to get done while Cry's on vacation."
"Sure."

CHESTER BENNINGTON TRIBUTE
Now I haven't talked about major release music much here. But I think it's time for a special case, because one of my all-time favorites just committed suicide a week ago. I'm sure you already know who I'm talking about now but it's time I give out some of my own thoughts.
Tumblr media
Chester Bennington was the iconic voice of Linkin Park. Said band for the longest time I considered my favorite band. While I don't consider them my #1 favorite anymore (I actually can't say a favorite now. I've discovered so many good metal/alternative rock/etc. stuff recently I can't just say one is top over all). I still love their music a lot. And listening to them in my younger days probably helped shape my music tastes. I can thank Linkin Park to being my gateway to so many rocking music that I currently have stored on my iTunes. While I kinda agree that Linkin Park's kinda fallen off since their first two albums that's not to say they didn't have any hits afterward.
In fact this post I want to share links to some of my favorite songs from Linkin Park and/or Chester Bennington. Because there's no better tribute to a recently deceased musician then to share the love for the music they made in their lifetimes. Some of these I actually didn't discover until I decided to look at all of Chester's discography after his unfortunate death. Because as much as I was a Linkin Park fan, I never did get the feeling to find everything Chester did. So I found some good songs that I probably wouldn't have found until much later if ever. It's still sad that he's gone, but at least I got some new tracks from him that I'll cherish amongst my collection of songs to listen to amongst all the old favorites.
After the break I'll share links to youtube videos and also some thoughts on particular songs that were some of my favorites throughout Chester and/or Linkin Park's career.
I'll start with some of the new ones I discovered after his death
Morning After by Chester & Julien-K
This was a collab with Julien-K (Which their only previous work I know of is some of their work they did for the Sonic franchise admittedly) and it's an awesome track that I was never aware of
State of the Art by Chester & DJ Lethal
This was also a collab but with a band called DJ Lethal. I think for most songs in general that I like I look for a good chorus especially if the beat is good and it's loud like many metal songs. Many songs I like can have great build-ups but I usually wait till I hear the chorus to decide if I want to keep it in my iTunes collection. And a lot of Linkin Park songs are like that.
System
This song was technically created by the main singer of Korn (Which BTW is another band I like a lot of music from though they are quite a bit on the darker end edgier side compared to Linkin Park) though he couldn't sing it himself do to some weird contract thing. So he got some friends to sing the songs instead. And Chester was one of them. Listening to it it very much has that Korn feel and Chester's voice doesn't hurt it in anyway. Just awesome work by both the maker of the song and Chester
Karma Killer by Cyclefly
This is actually a song I discovered long ago. Though I always thought it was some lost unreleased Linkin Park song and not actually by an entirely different band. Though it makes more sense since the main vocals felt pretty out of place for a Linkin Park song. But I don't mean that in a negative way. It's a really good track and Chester compliments the vocalist pretty well when he does sing in parts of it.
Dead by Sunrise Songs
-Condemned
-Give Me Your Name
-In The Darkness
-Too Late
-Walking in Circles
There was a short time that Chester had a side band some time ago. Most of the stuff isn't as extreme as Linkin Park could get. But the 5 songs I've highlighted here I particularly liked enough to keep.
Rock and Roll (Part 2) / Knockers by Handsome Boy Modeling School
Starting at about the 3:30 point and ending at 5:00 in the 7 minute hip-hop collaboration track by Handsome Boy Modeling School is a pretty cool short thing by Chester. There's also an earlier part of the song with Mike Shinoda that's also awesome. But since this is a tribute to Chester I'd thought I'd point out where his part of the song is. But feel free to listen to the entire thing. It has some funny stuff from artists that weren't part of Linkin Park whatsoever.
Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue (Covered by Chester)
While I don't know if this was just Chester putting his voice along with the old Motley Crue track or if they actually went together to remake the track together or something. Chester sings this classic pretty well I'd say.
Tomorrow by Stone Temple Pilots
Chester was apparently a huge Stone Temple Pilots fan and once dreamed of joining in with the band. And for a short time he got that wish some years ago and got to be the head singer for one 5-track album. All the songs are pretty decent but I felt Tomorrow stood out the most out of all of them.
Riders on the Storm (The Doors) cover by Santana
Another classic track that Chester covered pretty well in collaboration with Carlos Santana.
Walking Dead by Z-Trip
Not to be confused with the famous zombie show. It's just another fantastic collab song that Chester was involved with
Linkin Park
But of course we can't talk about Chester without getting into his main band Linkin Park. I'll probably have a full list of songs I really like that involve Chester's strong voice down below but I will give special notices for particular songs I have always loved from Linkin Park
Breaking the Habit
This song is just full of emotion from start to finish. The music video for it is also wonderfully animated and just added more to the song.
Crawling / Krwlng
While yes the chorus of the song has basically become a meme for every emo/edgy thing. I nonetheless really like this song as it really shows the vocal range that Chester can immediately jump to on the turn of a dime. What might arguably be better then the original song though is the remix they did for the Reanimation album. Where Aaron Lewis of Staind fame lent his voice for part of the remixed song.
In The End
I think this song might of been the one that first introduced me to Linkin Park. Either that one or Numb. But either way I love this track to pieces. The piano, the build-up from Mike Shinoda, and of course the unforgettable chorus sang from Chester. Just a wonderfully crafted song that will always be a favorite amongst many Linkin Park fans.
Numb
This song may very well be the one that comes up most often whenever anyone thinks of Linkin Park and for good reason as it's a pretty signature tune from their 2nd album that's definitely one of their best. I have always loved this song a lot.
Here's a list of other recommended songs with Linkin Park and Chester that I'll link:
And One
Blackout
Bleed It Out
Burn It Down
By Myself
Carousel
Don't Stay
Easier To Run
Faint
Figure 09
Final Masquerade
Forgotten
From The Inside
Given Up
In My Remains
Lies Greed Misery
Lost In The Echo
Lying From You
My December
New Divide
No More Sorrow
Nobody's Listening
One Step Closer
Papercut
Part Of Me
Points Of Authority
Powerless
Pushing Me Away
Qwerty
Runaway
Somewhere I Belong
Stick 'n Move
Valentine’s Day
What I've Done
With You
Wretches And Kings
But I think I'll leave this one off with one more song. Because I think given the lyrics and theme of the song is most appropriate in terms of tribute to Chester after his passing.
Leave Out All The Rest
This song even though it was made 10 years ago may as well be Chester's words as he says goodbye to all his fans as he heads off to rock with fellow recent passing and good friend of his Chris Cornell in the sky. It's a song that will make any Linkin Park fan, especially now, tear up. It's just a great emotional track that I'll consider Chester's heartfelt goodbye in spirit.
Chester didn't leave a suicide note when he died. But in some ways he doesn't need to. The songs themselves share the feelings of depression and moments of Chester's past that despite all the money and success he's gotten with Linkin Park nonetheless were constantly on his mind. Chris Cornell's suicide wasn't the sole reason Chester killed himself, it was just the final straw. It's a harsh truth that fame and money often still isn't enough to battle things like depression. It's a reminder to us all that if you have a friend who suffers from these kind of problems that you have to be there to support them. Cause at their lowest point they need somebody to pick them up before it's too late. Linkin Park themselves in a total class move dedicated a tribute site to Chester that also links to Suicide Prevention guides and services.
Still, there's no doubt that amongst all this is we just lost a modern music legend. And for every Linkin Park fan out there, including myself, it will surely leave a long-lasting hole in our hearts.
