also. continuing this thinking an hour later. i find it even more baffling because danger days is the period of time where they had arguably the most incisive and leveled questions about the process of making the record, like the nme article was awful but there were much greater opportunities by and large to actually talk about the record as a whole compared to the really paltry parade or revenge era interviews which were only ever insightful despite themselves.

#talking mostly about recorded interviews like for radio and such. just greater long-form dialogue compared to slim airing-on-tv style press #but even in print i feel like they were taken more seriously. on the whole. nme notwithstanding. (and even that interview #is more deeply unprofessional and gross than unreadable. it has some great quotes elsewhere imo)#actually this might be onto something because dd is comparatively less controlled by the band. there's not an accepted official #conceptualization on the level of the parade linear notes or life on the murder scene.#idk fully thinking out loud here #my posts
