Alright, this whole thing with Honey Impact is a clusterfuck, so I’m gonna make a rant (written with the help of friends) about it breaking every leg Honey Impact seems to think they can stand on. Buckle on in kids, because this is gonna be a long one.
Disclaimer: I am not a legal expert, but you do not have to be a legal expert to do some basic fucking research, which Honey Impact has clearly not done despite saying that they have.
First, it should be known that months ago Mihoyo released a statement asking people to stop supporting leaks and that they would be increasing efforts to deal with illegal disclosures of their unreleased content. This has been a long time coming, and honestly with the recent actions of leakers and/or dataminers, I think it’s deserved.
https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1372142018621706240
Tumblr media
Second, unlike what many people seem to think, it is not unfair of Mihoyo to shut down Honey Impact’s site. It is within their rights. Honey Impact is sharing and profiting from content that does not belong to them. That is the bottom line of this. They do not own that content and they do not have the permission, nor the right, to share it.
Furthermore, Mihoyo did not go behind Honey Impact’s back to shut down their website. For example, if a streamer or youtube video infringes copyright, the company/corporation/individual/whatever entity holding that copyright would go to the highest power to tell the streamer or person who uploaded that youtube video that they’re infringing on that copyright, which would be Twitch and Youtube respectively. In this case, the highest power was the host domain hosting Honey Impact’s website.

Tumblr media
Heading on to the points from the 9/11 update Honey Impact shared on their website and on their discord blatantly trying to paint Mihoyo as the bad guy and claiming that what they’re doing is in fact not illegal and pretty much digging a bigger hole for themselves:
Tumblr media
Here is where they claim they did some legal work to try and keep their website afloat. Honestly, it seems more like they were trying to find a way to keep doing their illegal work for profit.
1)    In their first point, they claim that the Terms of Service (ToS) is not a contract. That is incorrect. It is a contract. You may not have signed with your name in blood, but you agreed to it when you checked the little box(es) to access the game because a digital signature is still your signature. If you agreed to the ToS and you violate it, you can be held accountable for doing so. What kind of legal work are you doing that you don’t even know this?
2)     In this point they say that Mihoyo provides a software that requires Kernel level of access to your PC. First of all, you have to grant Mihoyo/Genshin this permission. It is like when an app on your phone asks you for permission to access your photos, your microphone, your camera, etc. Second, the Kernel level of access to your PC isn’t to steal and sell your information, install a virus, etc., but to enforce anti-cheat measures which is common in other games.
Furthermore, it has been adjusted to be as minimally invasive as possible and if they violated any rules or laws regarding invasion of privacy or if they made it so that your computer turned into a bitcoin farm, the Google Play Store and the Apple Store and other platforms would have removed Genshin Impact from their platform. (And Mihoyo would’ve gotten into a whole lot of trouble.) What kind of developer are you that you don’t even know this?
On top of their misleading accusations, they use cookie based ads on their own site. Aka the things that save and keep track of your emails, passwords, browser history, etc, and they sell it to the highest bidder without informing you of who or what it's for or giving you a single share of the profits they're making off the private information you have stored on your device(s) while accessing their site. So who is actually being invasive?
3)     Honey Impact does give credit where credit is due with the watermarks, but they host ads on the website and they run a Patreon asking people to support them in developing their website. Which is very hypocritical of them since they themselves said that they make 10kUSD+ a month and stated that they don’t want people in their discord server to donate to them. They also beg for donations in their streams.
They are not only illegally distributing someone else’s content, they are also profiting from it. This violates the fair use clause of copyright law.
This is like people taking artists’ work and selling them behind their back. Even if the artist is making bank compared to whatever you are making, it is still theft of intellectual property. You are pretty much reposting art that the artist has said not to repost. You are a thief. What kind of content creator are you that you don’t even know this?
4)     Unlike what Honey Impact has said, everything that is under the Genshin Impact banner, be it released content or unreleased is covered under the trademark that Mihoyo owns. As the owners of that trademark, they want Honey Impact to stop using their website to illegally share unreleased content that they illegally acquired.
Honey Impact also refers to their website as a fansite. But fansites generally aren’t for profit/have ad revenue, as profiting off of someone else's content goes directly against Fair Use, which they seem to think they are somehow entitled to if they scream about it loud enough…
Just look at the Genshin Impact fandom wiki. There is a reason why they do not allow leaked/datamined/unreleased content on their page. (Because it is illegal!!!!!!!) Also, since Honey Impact was using Fandom, the host domain of the Genshin Impact fanwiki, as an example of an entity making money off of official content: first, Fandom hosts a lot more fanwikis than just the Genshin Impact fanwiki (which, btw, has no for-profit ads), which culminates in a lot more overall traffic compared to Honey Impact’s site of stolen goods. Which means Fandom needs more money.
https://twitter.com/HoneyDodogama/status/1436990491942342662?s=20
Tumblr media
Second, again, the Genshin fanwiki DOES NOT POST UNRELEASED/LEAKED/DATAMINED CONTENT ON THEIR PAGES. BECAUSE DOING SO IS ILLEGAL. I don't know why Honey Impact thinks the fanwiki has that kind of content on its pages, but it doesn't.
Moreover, about not being subject to the NDA; it does not matter that Honey Impact, or anyone else on their team, did not sign an NDA. The crux of the matter is that the stuff they’re sharing doesn’t fucking belong to them. It is still theft of intellectual property.
Furthermore, this is not a grey area in law. Any company/corporation/individual/entitiy with a copyright has the right to tell other people to stop using their content protected by that copyright if they so choose. There has been precedent for this. D*sney is one such example as is Anne Rice.
As for other content creators that aren’t dataminers and/or leakers, they have been sanctioned by Mihoyo to release the content they have been releasing. Don't drag down other content creators such as streamers, artists, fanmerch creators, etc as they comply with a very much public list of conditions that Mihoyo has published to allow them to LEGALLY profit. They make fun of Mihoyo’s legal department not even being able to make a clear paragraph in English, yet Honey Impact’s English isn’t perfect either. So what if Mihoyo can’t spell? Honey Impact apparently can’t even read.
5)     What they are asking Honey Impact to do with their website is to follow the law. It is not some fraud company politics, it. Is. The. Fucking. Law. The reason they don’t want Honey Impact to have backups is because they’re not supposed to fucking have it in the first place. Furthermore, company politics has to do with what goes on inside the company, not what the company does to people/entities outside of it.
Ultimately, the stuff related to unreleased content of Genshin Impact Honey Impact has been posting on their website DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM. It’s bad enough that they were posting it without permission, it’s even worse that they were getting money for it.
Not to mention, with the way they have been acting, if you’ve been sympathetic and/or defending them, they really don’t deserve it. They added a pretty nasty disclaimer on their new website (which has since been deleted), which, by the way, can get them sued for libel, so that’s another charge on them, and also really shows how petty and childish they’re acting.
Tumblr media
Moving on to how they claim they’re back, which at this rate won’t be for long, they say they’ve moved to an Amsterdam based server and that that server is non-DMCA compliant.
So Ionos, their former host server for their website, is, in Honey's words, "DMCA compliant" only in the sense that they take responsibility for the content posted on their platform(s) and domain(s). All that means is that Mihoyo has to go through the DMCA process with the company to officiate the start of the paperwork.
Moving to an Amsterdam server that claims to be "not DMCA compliant" doesn't mean they can't get struck by DMCA. It just means that the company disclaims any and all legal obligations regarding the content posted and it will be solely the content creator's responsibility. So all that means is that they'll get their DMCA even faster now because Mihoyo will not be legally obligated to send the paperwork to the hosting company before sending it to them.
By the way, DMCA laws are INTERNATIONAL. Just because you moved servers from the US to Amsterdam does not mean you suddenly do not have to follow DMCA laws. Also, Mihoyo does have a local EU branch to deal with such things in Europe.

Ecommerce has come a long way and it is easy to find websites that make shopping a joy. But there’s a seedy underbelly to the Internet, too, full of bad eCommerce website design that may mask bad business practices, mediocre performance, or even outright theft. Today, we’re going to look at four websites that show you exactly what not to do, with some hints and tips for what to do instead. Prepare for the rollercoaster that you didn’t know you needed. Homebase: Design and Inventory Issues Over in the UK, Homebase is one of the worst-rated eCommerce websites, according to a 2018 and 2019 survey of online shoppers. The reason customers gave it such low marks is because of its puzzling design and limited stock availability. The website itself isn’t too bad of a design when you glance at it casually. It’s something that you might actually think about adopting until you get beneath the surface. We’re going to review just a single page, for its bathroom furniture. See if you can spot the keyword that they’re likely trying to get the page to rank for: Not only is that stuffing not likely helping, but it also undercuts other elements on the page. We don’t get a lot of description beyond the company telling us that they know a lot about bathroom furniture. If that’s the case, however, then we’re going to have to ask why its image for the “toilet and sink units” and the “toilet units” show the same two products, just next to each other or with a gap. Plus, it’s just the “toilets units” section that actually shows a product with the toilet and sink as a single unit. Your lesson here is to prioritize copy that’s useful and avoid keyword stuffing. There’s actually some good copy at the absolute bottom of the page that explains products and collections, plus they note that some of these items can be installed by you. It would also make great email content. It’s unlikely that the reader will get all the way down there to read this copy, which is unfortunate. Even more unfortunate, however, is that the page only shows us 4 “bestselling” pieces (there are 6 categories) and two of them are on clearance, which doesn’t inspire confidence. The “in-store” service is actually for a service that occurs at your home (and the image we see here has nothing to do with the bathroom). The advice section is a promising idea, but for some reason, the photos are especially grainy and they’re off-center. It’s not too bad, but once we realized that we couldn’t help but see that the text at the bottom of the page is aligned with sidebar elements instead of the other text box at the top of the page. The lesson here is to test your design for style and looks, but also make sure that it gives useful and related elements that don’t cut against the page. Would you take design inspiration from a site like this? Headhunter Hairstyling: Making Us Hunt, Slowly Headhunter Hairstyling and Nails is a Pensacola, Florida, hair salon that’s been in the downtown since 1978. They have great reviews on Google and are a super popular location with people who find them through Yelp or walk in off the street. It seems like a wonderful place to get your hair cut or styled and they deserve credit for running a good business. The company isn’t particularly an eCommerce business, but that’s why we’re highlighting them in this section. Because, if they were an eCommerce shop, they’d likely go out of business tomorrow. No reputation in the world will save you if your website operates like there’s does. The first thing to note is that you’ve got a great big video of someone cutting hair and you’ll get to see it in intricate detail as it slowly, slowly loads. First, the video loads fuzzy, then comes into focus, and then slowly the rest of the site content will appear.  The lesson here is that a load time of 5-6 seconds will kill an eCommerce business. You’ve got to fight to keep it under that. Next, look at what they do with that all-important real estate. Over the hero video, we just get a welcome and repeat of their name. Below, we get a static note about hiring — which may be the parent company’s focus but isn’t the focus of this service-oriented site (you can tell because there’s a “Services” nav at the top). In our third and final text segment, we get a welcome message that talks about the location (a small plus for a business that needs foot traffic) and a mention of services, but no hyperlink. For you, think about what you would do with a landing page? How would you sell? Are you pushing products as soon as someone arrives or are they met with bland copy, no links, and no reason to stick around? There’s no easy way to get to a service or stylist as we read. You’ve got to go back up to the top nav. Clicking on the “Services” tab takes us to a page with a price list. Unfortunately, there’s no video or images here, just a straight service list. There’s also no more information because you can’t click through to anything. What all does that elusive plus “+” sign next to the permanent styling cover? Can the price double or even triple? Then, we get to the bottom and are told that none of those prices matter. So, there’s no information here and no reason to trust anything else on the site. Your eCommerce business can’t rely on outside sources (like Google or Yelp) for reviews to generate your sales. You need to make a good first impression and then follow it up with high-quality images, consistent pricing, and elements that help people trust you. The lesson is to ask yourself this: If you could only choose a salon based on their own website (which is what people do for your eCommerce site), would you choose this one? Arngren: Making Eyes Hurt for Years If you’re going to have eCommerce sites that you love to hate, Arngren.net is at the top of that list. This Norwegian classified site is like if one of those penny magazines sitting in a roadside diner was digitized, and then shoved onto a single page. It’s a fascinating mess.  Images and text overlap each other, often obscuring essential information or making it unclear which “sale!” declaration is for which product. Some things have borders and others don’t, for reasons that are unclear. An alarm system will sit next to an RC tank, moped, and binoculars. Clicking on an item will get you to a paid that is more structured, generally, though a fair amount of the links go to strange places on a page. And, for some reason, it pairs fake security cameras with ads for homebuilt, personal helicopters. Clicks may send you to affiliates or advertisers or direct listings, but there’s no obvious way to reason it out before you click. All-in-all, it’s a masterclass on what not to look like. So, here are the big takeaways from it: Use a consistent layout so people can follow along. Minimize content per page so people understand what’s being sold. Give information and context to encourage clicks. Keep typography, color, image size, and other elements at least somewhat consistent Go through your links and see if things are clear and that they work properly. Your big takeaway: If it makes your eyes hurt or gives you a headache to look at, scrap the page and try again. T-Shirt Shop: Don’t Steal We’ve got one quick honorable mention to note: t-shirt businesses. There’s a rather big controversy that’s been discovered by Twitter sleuths, where artists post artwork and then someone comments “This should be on a t-shirt.” Unscrupulous companies on the Internet are scraping Twitter with bots and then grabbing the artwork image files and turning them into t-shirts. As a response, Twitter users started making images that note a website sells stolen artwork and then using the comments to get them to create a shirt with that image. Twitter scraping is a bad practice for multiple reasons. First, it’s illegal and the point is to get a cool design without paying the artist for it. Second, you can get caught creating a lot of strange things (that are potentially illegal in their own right). And, finally, it erodes all trust.  Your eCommerce takeaway: Don’t steal. People will notice and spread the word, and it’ll hurt your store. In an even greater twist, some companies have started creating their own t-shirts with similar messaging. This could be an attempt to cash in on a trend or to muddy the waters as bad actors try to show that they might not be doing something wrong. All this serves to do is erode trust — an especially bad move if you are a legitimate shop and just trying to make a buck off a trend. Also, we won’t mention this site by name, but look at the product description of that item. It doesn’t inspire confidence that the listing is real. Elsewhere, they leave a watermark from a competitor’s store on an image and show a product description that appears to be a personal comment from Facebook that includes the keyword of the product description (still bolded on their end). So, be careful of trends and overly enthusiastic automation. If you’re not paying attention, you could end up doing something that’ll get your shop shut down by the authorities or scare away people enough that you’re forced to close your doors because of a lack of sales. Also, don’t steal. Bonus Tip: Google Yourself We’ll finish up with a final tip that came up during our research on this topic. Google is a great tool to help you find a vast array of information. We wanted to highlight websites that not only performed poorly in our mind but were rated poorly by customers. The Homebase site was a top example, and it got us to look around for more studies in the UK. That led to Google results for one particular publication, which is currently ranking well and showed up a couple of times: Unfortunately, those links that Google still thinks are valid aren’t helping out the visitor. So, our final lesson is to do your keyword research and learn your site. Then, see where you show up and click through those links. Because, you don’t want a popular search result to link to a page saying that you’re “Coming Soon” when, in fact, you’re already here. You might also find new reviews that show people are worried about your shipping costs or have other concerns. No matter who you are, search results count.

Control, the Internet Has None
I’ve been trying put together some marketing images lately and while doing searching for ‘free’ images useable under a creative commons license have been reminded of a lesson that I learned way back when I first started using the internet.
Once you put something out on the internet, you lose control of it.
I didn’t come up with this all by myself, I was a green teenager and the internet was young. Most of the social interaction came through AOL and of all things, Yahoo groups. (Yep, aging myself here.) I was a member of several of these groups in a large fandom community and there was an older member on there who told us all that you are not as anonymous as you think you are. There weren’t as many IP hiding and server jumping software services at the time, but this still holds true. No matter how anonymous you think you are, someone, somewhere can find you. Think before you post anything on the internet, good or bad. Be prepared at all times to stand by what you said and for someone to figure out who you are. Because once you say this stuff, once it is out there, you lose control of it. Unless you are all right with your mother, conservative grandmother, girlfriend/boyfriend/partner/spouse, random internet stranger and your future employer to find out what you get up to online. Don’t put it on the internet.
In this age of cyber bullying, internet doxing and constant selfies, this holds true more than ever.
Be careful what you post.
There was a reason in the "old" days that fandom writing had disclaimers about copyright infringement and not making a profit off of anything. Some fandom writers still do this, others don't because they aren't aware of the need. Or for some reason, don't think it applies anymore. (It wouldn't really help in the short or long run, but we disclaimed anyways just in case.) The reason was that some intellectual property holders don't like fan created works and would go out of their way to sue, send cease and desist orders and yes, cyberbully and doxx people having fun on the internet. (There are at least 2 very well known authors infamous for doing this.) And fandom writers hoped that if we disclaimed hard enough that we weren't making money off of our fan created works, that it was for fun and hopefully under fair use, that they, professional authors, wouldn't sue, send us cease and desist orders, cyberbully or doxx us. (Think about how ridiculous that looks for a moment please. Professional authors sueing mostly teenagers, outing where they live and if they were adults, trying to get them fired.)
I decided to be the same person on the internet as I was off the internet. If I wouldn’t say it to a person’s face. I wouldn’t post it. I learned the lesson about my parents finding my fandom identities during college, twice. It came as a shock, that yes, my parents had found my fandom identities and yes they knew what fandom was and shipping. And all I could do is hope they didn’t read everything on those blogs because some of it was NSFW. It took some time for me to accept that yes, I am a sexual being and if my parents don’t know that, well, that’s their problem and not mine. (No. I am not telling anyone what fandoms I was in. Just. No.)
By the way, if you go into my computer and start poking about. You deserve what you find for breaching my privacy.
This is especially true of any artistic endeavor. If you post something, you lose control of it. The internet is a great place for creative people. There are so many places to exchange ideas and post creative content for fiction and art. In my short time on tumblr I’ve seen a great many amazing ideas that made me go “I wish I had time to write that.” (I have so many ideas of my own to write first!) The problem with exchanging ideas and posting images and writing fiction is that on the internet it is so easy to steal things. People don’t respect copyright. They see things on pintrest and suddenly it is on their pintrest or Instagram or tumblr without any idea of the original source.  Somebody turns it into a wallpaper and it ends up on a free wallpaper site or turns it into a jigsaw puzzle and so on and so forth until it is next to impossible to track down the original place the image is posted.
Copyright becomes a slippery thing. And when people are trying to create images for book covers or shareables or just put them on their blog, wander into illegality without meaning to do so.  The meaning of copyright gets lost and the copyright holder of the image spends lots of time sending out cease and desist orders and their lawyer works overtime. There are a great many images I’ve found through google images I’d love to use for something and have to spend the time to track down who holds the copyright to make sure I don’t infringe on someone else's creative endeavor. Most people don’t do this. They don’t care or they are lazy or they don’t know they’re supposed to do it.
Honestly, the best thing to do is either place the copyright of your image in the bottom right of the image with your name, year, copyright symbol and website or to put a watermark over the whole of the image. Even this won’t stop people, at the VERY least unless they crop the image, the copyright holder is credited and people can find the original.
And if you don't want the image/art piece/fiction used without some sort of remuneration. Then don't post it on the internet.
So, in short, be careful what you post. You never know where it’s going to end up. And if that isn’t a scary thought. I don’t know what is.

Fake Sick Notes: Pulling It Off Without Getting Caught
Using a Doctor’s Note for Work (And Everything Else You Need to Know)
In today’s world, getting a mental health break may often be very challenging for many Americans. Consequently, notes received from physicians that support a person’s claim of having suffered from a medical condition are considered the Holy Grail among documents able to excuse an absence. Today, we shall take a look at ways of getting your hands on sick notes, and more importantly how to employ them without getting caught. We will also try to provide several examples of mistakes made by many people that may often needlessly put their jobs at risk.
Doctor’s Note Survey
Please correct any required fields and submit again.
Want 5 Free Doctor’s Notes?
Just fill out this survey and we will send them to you.
Why do you need a doctor’s note?
To skip work (in the future)
To skip school (in the future)
To excuse myself for a day I already missed (school).
To excuse myself for a day I already missed (work).
This question is required
Next
A Sick Note: The Basics of a Fake Doctor’s Note Template
A blank note from a doctor to excuse an absence is a bit more difficult than forging a printable doctor’s form from your mom when skipping school, but it certainly is not impossible. Never forge a real persons signature as this is likely illegal and can get you into trouble.
Typically, the process will involve the following steps:
Finding a blank template of a doctor’s form that is editable and printable
Currently, there are many websites providing paid and free excuse templates of real doctor’s notes. The selection is quite large, but you should always make sure the version you obtain is editable and – when printed – it does come with a watermark, or a web address.  Only use free doctor’s notes if you’re using it as a joke.  Otherwise they are too risky.  I repeat, never use a free doctor’s note for work. The very best ones require a small fee.
Editing the template to match your information
This should be self-explanatory, after all the fake dr note is meant to excuse your and not John Doe’s absence.
Coming up with a medical reason or excuse for the absence
This can be template-specific. For example, hospital or emergency room discharge papers will normally describe the treated medical condition. On the other hand, family physicians may simply state that such visit and treatment indeed occurred but without providing any additional medical information. If you do decide to include a reason for hospital discharge, consider making it slightly embarrassing as that will prevent someone from trying to double-check it.
Entering a doctor’s or hospital’s info and contact number
This is by far the most important part of any sick note. You should provide the name of a fictitious doctor, and preferably one that would work within a reasonable distance. Even though the likelihood of anyone actually employing verification of the information on the internet is small, it may still happen especially in the case of a longer absence. Furthermore, including the name of the physician along with a real phone number will only help substantiate your claim, as the note’s details will match the real information. Finally, any information regarding the physician should be consistent with the used template.
A few places have call back verification services (us for example).  This allows the note to be called back on and verified.  Its worth looking into and its included with our notes.
Submitting Your Fake Sick Note
This step is as important as preparing the template itself, and as Sun Tzu used to say, you should always “respect your enemy”. You never know who might end up reviewing your form from human resources department at your company. Before you submit your doctors excuse template, you should ensure it has your name and address on it, the date of your visit with the physician, the length of your absence from work that should be excused, and finally the doctor’s name, address and signature. As said previously, the diagnosis and treatment details are not essential, as they fall under doctor-patient confidentiality laws.
Getting Away With Using Fake Sick Notes
Submitting a dr note for work can be incredibly scary.
Now, let us take a look at few rules you must follow to get away with your fake sick note. (If you need a great sick / dr. note, go to our homepage)
Rule 1: You Do Not Talk About Fake Doctor’s Notes
It should not be a surprise that the first rule of getting away with a fake dr note for school is to keep it a secret from everyone. Working to keep it confidential is in your best interest. It is best to think of the paper as if it was an authentic doctor’s letter describing a really embarrassing medical condition. In addition, the less you talk about it, the fewer white lies you will have to remember. After all, what you do not want to happen is accidentally telling one of your colleagues you went to the dentist, while later telling others you had to go to the emergency room.
Rule 2: The Recipient’s Point-of-View
Submitting a blank doctor’s note for work is a lot like doing a magic trick: you either do it right and no one notices the sleight of hand or you make a mistake that destroys the whole illusion. When you produce a fake sick note, look at it as if you were the one receiving it. If the document does not seem believable to you for any reason, you should consider using another template. The job is to remember if your deception is discovered, it will fall apart.
Rule 3: Memorize the Details
Once you decide to submit a fake doctor’s paperwork to work, remember that it is now a part of your record. In other words, if you use appendicitis as your original fake excuse, you will have to remember that if you ever need to have your appendix actually removed, you will need to come up with another fake excuse to explain your absence. Similarly, using the flu after receiving sponsored flu vaccinations will lead to more scrutiny.
Rule 4: Confidence is Key
When submitting your fake sick note, you should remain as confident as you would be if the form was an authentic one. If you happen to find yourself questioned by others, you should not be afraid to mention medical confidentiality laws and end the conversation. After you demonstrate resistance and a desire for privacy, the majority of people will not press the subject further, realizing it is none of their business.
Common Questions and Answers on Using a Doctor’s Note Template for Work or School
I need a doctors note for work.  It has to be very legit looking. What is the best way to acquire one?
You are not the only person online looking for a template.  Many working people every day search the internet  for excuses.
The best way to acquire one of these coveted medical documents is to talk to a doctor directly.  You can often fabricate a few symptoms (i.e. stomach bug)  However, being a patient costs money  —  to see a general practitioner can be a pretty expensive endeavor. (If you want to find a medical practitioner in your area, look here)
The next best option is to download a quality template online.  Make sure its from a reputable source and has valid testimonials.  There are many sites that provide templates for free. Do not use these sites as many people use them and employers and professors are well aware of what these free resources.
How does a fake doctor’s note template different from a real one?
The only difference is that a fake document provides fictional information.  It does not impersonate a physician or real life medical institution.   Therefore, its not necessarily fraudulent.  However, its best you talk to a lawyer about your local laws.
A medical document can be a very handy tool that can excuse you from a lot of life’s hassles.  Just make sure that you get your template from a reputable and reliable source.
Where can I get a free fake physician’s note template for work?
It’s understandable that you want to get a document without spending money.  However, you must realize that there is great risk that comes with returning to work with a free excuse that you found on the internet.
Here is why:  many other students/employees are using these documents — and employers and professors are well aware of what they look like.  We recently heard o a student tried to return to work with a sick note claiming that they had just had dental surgery, but when the employer checked over the document they realized they’d seen it before.  If you want to be believably sick, you need to submit a top quality alibi that hasn’t been seen before.
Can I get a free fake doctor’s excuse note for school to convince my boss that I am sick?
As mentioned in the question above, we do not recommend this at all.  Many of the free sites are using documents that actually do not belong to them.  They “scrape” the internet looking for documents.  In other words, the documents that they provide you for free also exist in many other places on the internet.
If you’re looking to be absent from work, don’t return with a blank template you found on a free document sharing site.  It is far too risky.
Do blank dr. note templates really work for school? How do I fill it out?
Yes, they certainly do.. as long as you get one from a trusted source to protect yourself from submitting something that your boss has seen before (i.e. – free notes).
Once you acquire a blank document, you can fill it out by looking at free examples on the internet.    Go Google images and look for notes that have signatures and are filled out by a doctor. There are many examples online. Some are fake but you will quickly get the jest of how to fill out the form.
Can I make a fake doctor’s excuse?
Making your own document isn’t the wisest idea, but it is a better option than using a free one found online.
There is a bit of risk in doing it as  the document you’re crafting hasn’t been proven and tested before .  By making a small investment, you’re assuring yourself that you’re using something that has a solid track record. You can then return to work or school with confidence (Read more on a doctor’s excuse for school).
Where can I find an example of physician’s notes online?
You can find many examples online by a simple Google search. Feel free to check out some of the free document sites that show you examples of these for free.  Another trick is to use Google images. This can show you many examples of real and fake notes.  However, remember everyone is doing this so its best you get something that isn’t widely published on the internet.
Will a sample physician’s excuse note be enough to convince my work or school?
Do not use a sample or example that you’ve found online.  But yes, once you get a valid form from a trusted source, its enough to convince your employer or educational institution.    The document should simply say that you were sick and seen by a professional, and are now fit to return.
Sometime they will call back the phone numbers that are mentioned on the forms . Do not  put a real medical facility on the document.  The best option is to get a provider that has a call back verification feature.
Is signing the note with a fake doctor’s signature illegal?
Signing a fake document is not illegal as long as you make everything fictional. If you’re mimicking a real place or person, it could be considered fraud.  But we are not lawyers and highly recommend you talk to an attorney.
How can I make my doctor’s excuses printable?
Most forms/templates will print out fine on a modern day printer.  We highly recommend using an ink jet printer as they will be able to print color.  A better option is a color laser printer.  These can be found at print shops such as Kinkos and work perfectly.  Many of our customers print their notes at a print shop and they turn out beautifully.  Even the signatures on the signed notes  look perfect.
I need a note from the dentist.  Are they different from regular notes?
No, there is very little difference .  The only difference is that the dental note will have a dentist’s logo at the top of the template.  Just write your reason why you’ve been absent from work or school on the note.  Also, the reason for being sick should usually be something such as a dental emergency since most dental visits are pre-planned.   Consider using Google  to get ideas on dentist notes and examine what individuals have written on them.
I need a doctor’s note from a hospital to excuse myself from work. Is this possible?
Most people return to work or school with doctor’s notes that are from general practitioners.  The next most common are specialized medical fields (i.e. OBGYN).  However, a hospital sick note is also quite common and is a pretty convincing excuse.  Most are hospital discharge papers that state the patient was in the hospital and was recently discharged.
How do I write a fake doctor’s note for school?
There is little variation in a form to return to school vs. returning to work.  The only variation is how you write a sick note, and how it is addressed.   For example, on the school medical note, it will be addressed to a teacher/professor and the work note will be addressed to the employer.  It is very much like a letter.
Both will explain why you were absent.
I need a doctor’s sick note template for the UK – do they look different than the versions from the USA?
There is very little difference from a  UK medical certificate and one from the USA.  One common difference is some of the wording on the document might have some variation from the American English.  There also may be some other small variations.  One option is to look at free UK doctor’s note templates online to see how they are different.    This can be done with a simple Google search.
How can I find the best medical certificate to excuse me from work?
Choosing the right document can be tough. Sometimes too many options can make it intimidating and confusing.  The best trick is to think of the alibi that you’ll use — what type of sickens are you going to come up with? Is it going to be a common visit to a general practitioner or is it something more specialized, like an orthopedic surgeon?
The most common one is a stomach flu.  Another option is something very personal such as a visit to the OBGYN.  This will lead to very little suspicion from the recipient.
Just look at sample certificates online to get your creative juices flowing.
What do I put on a doctor’s note for a school absence? What are some good excuses?
As mentioned earlier, there is very little difference between submitting a  note for school vs. submitting to work.   The only difference is who you will write the form to — obviously for work its to an employer and to school it’s to a professor or teacher.   One option is to look on the internet for sample certificates. There is a lot of free info out there.
Remember, if you need a great note, visit our doctor’s note homepage. Also  — do you need a dr excuse template? Read here.
Can you get a doctor’s note without seeing a doctor?
In most cases, no. There may be some online options where you could do an online consult with a physician to get a real doctors note.  However, these often cost a similar fee to a real doctor’s office visit.  In these cases, we recommend using a fake doctor’s note.
What about free printable doctor’s notes for work?
As mentioned earlier, this is a very high-risk endeavor and we do not recommend it.  Employers often do reverse google image searches and can easily find notes that have been indexed by Google.  OUr documents are hidden from public eye.  In other words, they are not accessible by employers and professors.
What about an online dr. note generator for missing work?
These may be a better option as they create a unique document every time you use them (therefore they cannot be found with a reverse Google search). However, there are not currently many of these online. THere is one online that we know of, and to be totally honest we would never use it.  It was mainly designed to be a gag/novelty project.

Fake Sick Notes: Pulling It Off Without Getting Caught

In today’s world, getting a mental health break may often be very challenging for many Americans. Consequently, notes received from physicians that support a person’s claim of having suffered from a medical condition are considered the Holy Grail among documents able to excuse an absence. Today, we shall take a look at ways of getting your hands on sick notes, and more importantly how to employ them without getting caught. We will also try to provide several examples of mistakes made by many people that may often needlessly put their jobs at risk.

Is someone stealing your blog? (And what to do about it)
How do you know when someone is stealing your blog?
And what can you do about it? I’ve just had this experience (not for the first time).
So have several other bloggers. As I occasionally cover blogging and writing help as well as gardening, I thought a post might be helpful.
Firstly, what is ‘stealing your blog’?
When you write a blog (or anything else that is published), you automatically own the copyright. The moment you press ‘publish’ or the presses roll, the words go out into the world, but they remain your property.
If someone reproduces your blog post on their blog exactly (in full or almost in full), this is called ‘scraping’. The Middlesized Garden has often been ‘scraped’.
That means that my whole blog post, complete with photographs and sub-headings is simply rolled out on someone else’s blog.
This post on How To Transform Your Garden With Upcycled Junk was reproduced in full, with all the photographs, on a ‘scraping’ site without my permission. The scraper has been politely asked to remove it, but he has not replied.
If you are reading this on a blog called ‘The Middlesized Garden’, you are reading the original. If you are reading this on a blog about – for example – healthy living, then it has been stolen (or ‘scraped’).
There is usually a credit or a link tucked away somewhere, but that doesn’t legally justify stealing paragraphs of words and pictures that I have worked hard to create.
Bloggers who scrape do it to gain money through advertising or affiliate schemes.
Scraping is completely different from linking. Maybe you’re here because you were reading another blog. They mentioned or quoted a few lines from the Middlesized Garden with a link through, so you could read more.
You clicked on that link and here you are, on the Middlesized Garden itself. That’s great. It’s good blogging etiquette and it helps everyone.
And you can’t use photographs you find online
No-one is legally allowed to ‘right-click’ on your photographs and use them without your permission.
In fact, if you yourself have been using photographs you found on the internet (for your blog, website, posters, flyers…anything), then you need to stop.
Because photographic agencies now apparently make more money fining people for using their photos illegally than they do from actually selling them.
I took this photograph at Pettifers on a Clive Nichols photography workshop. I haven’t put a copyright watermark on it, but it is still my copyright.
So let’s be absolutely clear. If you use a photograph – in any way whatsoever – without the permission of the photographer, you are breaking copyright law. You can be taken to court and/or fined.
The photographer will tell you how much to pay, whether you have to credit them, or link back to them. Or what any other conditions are. You can’t use photos without permission even if you do credit the photographer or link back to them.
You need to understand the basics of copyright law
Last year I was ‘scraped’ by a garden blogger who was reproducing my posts in full. So were Two Thirsty Gardeners and Real Men Sow.
I have exchanged many a cheery email with Jonno from Real Men Sow, as his blog is often scraped along with mine.
When I asked the scraper to take my posts down, he said they were ‘in the public domain, so he had a right to use them under Creative Commons.’
He was wrong.
‘In the public domain’ means that everyone knows something. For example, everyone knows that Prince William married Kate Middleton. That knowledge is in the public domain. Anyone can talk or write about it.
However, if someone writes a book, an article or a blog post about the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, those books, articles and posts would be protected by copyright.
You couldn’t just publish the author’s words on your own blog, website or company literature.
Then what is Creative Commons?
But sometimes people do want others to be free to use their work. In that case, they can apply for a license called ‘Creative Commons’.
A Creative Commons license can apply to blog posts, books, poetry – anything which is published.
Photo agencies often have some photos available under ‘Creative Commons’. They allow free use of the photo. But they may impose conditions such as ‘credit the photographer’ or ‘non-commercial use only.’
You need to stick to any conditions of a Creative Commons license or you could be fined.
This image of a dahlia was downloaded free from Pixabay. When I downloaded it, I checked that no attribution was needed and that it can used for anything. The photographer, however, is labelled msandersmusic, and I did have the option of buying him/her a coffee, which is a nice way to reward someone for their work.
So how do you find out who is stealing your blog?
I use wordpress.org and when other sites link to mine, the link comes up for me to ‘approve’ in the Comments section. I always check links before approving them.
You can also set a Google alert. Copy and paste a paragraph of your post into Google alert and if Google finds a duplicate it will tell you that someone is stealing your blog.
There’s an excellent post here with some good resources from Kissmetrics.
And let’s work together…
We can all let each other know. When I find someone stealing my blog, I usually notice that they’re stealing from several other bloggers too.
This time Marks Veg Plot, Urban Veg Patch, You Grow Girl and a couple of others are being scraped along with me. We have all been in touch with each other.
You Grow Girl even has copyright watermarks on her photographs. That hasn’t prevented them from being used illegally – they’re still on the photos on the scraped site.
Even though we act individually, I’m sure it helps if several bloggers ask for their posts to be taken down at around the same time. We also all exchange information, and that can be very helpful all round.
So, if you’re active in any blogging/garden blogging forums or groups, do please share this. The more people who know about it, the better.
And you can discover other interesting things…
When I was going through the site that is currently scraping me, I discovered more puzzling blogging behaviour.
(I’m not going to name the scraping site, by the way, because I don’t want to encourage click-throughs. These people just want click-throughs, so let’s not give them any.)
However one of the other garden bloggers apparently being scraped had a site with a huge banner saying ‘Welcome to the UK’s Number 1 Garden blog’.
Interesting. In four years of garden blogging, I had never heard of it. The two most respected garden blog rankings are Vuelio and Feedspot  .
I’ve never seen this gardening blog – shall we call it ‘Alleged Number One’ – on either.
But listings, like awards, can be quite random. Good blogs are often left off. And there are loads of other Garden Blog listings, all featuring different blogs.
So I decided to run Alleged Number One through Buzzsumo, which tells you how often a site’s posts are shared and how many shares they got. According to Buzzsumo, Alleged Number One has only ever had one share (on Twitter).
And Alleged Number One’s name has very slight similarities to Alternative Eden, which was the UK Number 1 Garden blog (Vuelio) for around four years.
However, after a bit more poking around, it looks like that is just a coincidence.  Sorry, getting diverted…
What can you do about someone stealing your blog?
Firstly, write to the blogger. Contact details are often tucked away on scraping sites, but they can usually be found. Ask them politely to respect copyright and take your posts down.
So far, hardly anyone has ever even replied.  The man who thought he was allowed to reproduce other people’s posts under ‘Creative Commons’ did get back to us all. He eventually took all our posts down.
He genuinely hadn’t understood copyright law, and thanked me for being polite.
Next, you find out who hosts the blog by running it through WhoIsHostingThis. This is a website which tells you who hosts the blog you are trying to contact.
If you don’t recognise the hosting company, google it. Then look up ‘report abuse’ on its site.  There is a form to fill in. Like all forms ,it may not be wholly clear.
The hosting company should take the offending posts down, and may even shut down the whole site. That’s why it’s helps if everyone acts. Several complaints are likely to be more effective than just one.
What a faff…
All this is stressful and time-consuming. I usually find out I’m being scraped when I’m checking my comments – just as I’m about to write a post. It takes me ages to contact everyone and fill out forms.
So why bother? What harm does it do? Don’t you get a few visitors via the link that is stealing your blog, if the scraper has included it somewhere in the post?
I’ve never seen any evidence that I get readers from scraping sites. I’m not happy about my posts ending up next to belly fat ads or suggestions that I might like gaming or senior singles. If I was, I’d take ads myself, and I don’t.
And I often contribute tips or photographs to other bloggers’ round-ups, but I really don’t see why someone should simply take my (or anyone else’s) work in its entirety and place ads against it to earn money.
If someone is reproducing other people’s posts on the grounds that they believe everything on the internet should be free, then they shouldn’t be charging for it through advertisements. Earning money from other people’s work doesn’t equal ‘free.’
I get the sense that this particular scraper is just rolling all our posts onto his site without even bothering to read them.
So it will be rather funny if this pops up on it (especially with this image).
Do pin this for reference or to help spread the word – thank you!
Anyone who has read this far is probably a blogger, so please do share this in any online blogging groups or forums you’re on. Copyright theft is illegal.  It’s like stealing fruit or vegetables that someone has spent time growing, then selling them at a market.
And let me know if someone has been stealing your blog – all experiences and advice very welcome! Thank you!

Fake Sick Notes: Pulling It Off Without Getting Caught
Using a Doctor’s Note for Work (And Everything Else You Need to Know)
In today’s world, getting a mental health break may often be very challenging for many Americans. Consequently, notes received from physicians that support a person’s claim of having suffered from a medical condition, are considered the Holy Grail among documents able to excuse an absence. Today, we shall take a look at ways of getting your hands on free less-than-authentic sick notes, and more importantly how to employ them without getting caught. We will also try to provide several examples of mistakes made by many people that may often needlessly put their jobs at risk.
Submitting Your Fake Sick Note
This step is as important as preparing the template itself, and as Sun Tzu used to say, you should always “respect your enemy”. You never know who might end up reviewing your form in the human resources department at your company.
Submitting a blank doctor’s note is a lot like doing a magic trick: you either do it right and no one notices the sleight of hand or you make a mistake that destroys the whole illusion.
    Common Questions and Answers
You can then return to work or school with confidence.
The document should simply say that you were sick and seen by a professional, but are now fit to return.
The next most common is specialized medical fields (i.e.
For example, on the school medical note it will be addressed to a teacher/professor and the work note will be addressed to the employer.
The only difference is who you will write the form to — obviously for work its to an employer and to school its to a professor or teacher.   One option is to look on the internet for sample certificates. There is a lot of free info out there.
