here's a little jojolands conspiracy

Jodio's father being forced to leave Hawaii is more intwined with Usagi but not in the way that you think. (I know I made a theory about Usagi being the owner of the parrot on the bus but this is something entirely different).

tl;dr: Usagi and Jodio's fathers were best buds. Jodio's father trying to help his friend led to the mess we know now.

Basically, Usagi and Jodio's fathers were childhood best friends. They were both raised in Hawaii with similar circumstances and had their own rag-tag group of friends; it was those two that were the closest however. After high school, both fathers had different ambitions: Usagi's father went into construction on O'ahu while Jodio's father moved to the mainland go to college. They kept letters, went on occasional trips together, and briefly lost contact before reconnecting just when Jodio's father decided to move the family back to O'ahu. There, he reconnected with Usagi's father and learns that both were hired by Howler for outsource construction and insurance administration respectively.

Howler tends to outsource a lot of their stuff as an infrastructure company, so Usagi and Jodio's fathers began working for them via their own companies. Both the construction and insurance companies want to have the best relationship with Howler as possible, and Jodio's father particularly was in charge of overseeing the insurance stuff for Howler and a couple of their partnerships (i.e. the bus company); that's how high up he was.

Like many infrastructure companies and businesses that require physically demanding work, Howler is no stranger to workplace injuries and the legal aspects of it. So, having to deal with OSHA violations, accidents, and potential deaths is often dealt with as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Part of why they outsource their construction work is to minimize their involvement in accidents that may occur and have the minutia of payouts and blame lie on the companies they hired instead. This is where Usagi's father's death comes in.

Usagi's father died tragically from being hit by a bus that coincidentally belonged to one of Howler's partnerships in the process of being merged into the corporation: a local Oahu bus company that coincidentally belongs to the bully that later attacks Dragona. Because this bus was also under Howler, they couldn't just have the contracted company deal with the mess and therefore used Jodio's father's insurance company to see how much they can get away with not paying out the Alohaoes. In other words, Howler wants to pay the minimum amount and possibly screw over the Aloahoes knowing they don't have the resources or emotional energy to fight over getting a low payout.

However, Jodio's father knew what they were planning to do to the Aloahoes and couldn't stand being complicit in screwing his late best friend's family. So, used his power to make sure the Alohaoes were paid every cent they deserved and basically "screwed" Howler with the insurance pay. (By screwed, they lost a few million and it took a bit of work from PR to have people forget it happened). This strained the relationship between his insurance company and Howler to the point where the latter threatened to break their contract with the former. Neither could do anything towards Jodio's father legally, who tried his best to "lie" about how he wasn't able to give them the lowball offer they wanted to give and he could use this as a blip in his near-perfect track record. To prevent the Alohaoes from being further involved, he cut contact with the family and made it so it was a random insurance agent that handled their payout. The plan to introduce his kids to Usagi as friends was also abandoned.

While this helped the Alohaoes greatly and he still oversaw Howler's insurance stuff, he starts being treated badly at work. The higher executives pressured his co-workers and team to give him the cold shoulder under false rumors that he was not the great employee or team-player he gives off. Jodio's father began missing out on promotions/raises, getting iced out from work activities, and he's sometimes forced to take on other workloads. This puts a further strain on his marriage, as Barbara Ann mentioned, but he refuses to tell her what had been going on; it was his thing to ensure his family from the cruelties of the world, which is sometimes interpreted as him being aloof and not as involved as a parent, and he was a workaholic to begin with due to ensuring his children get the best education they can.

When the bus experienced the arson attack, media and police claim the culprit is unknown. However, Dragona's bully wanted a final jab and, while hospitalized, claimed Dragona was the arsonist. There was clearly no evidence besides Dragona being coincidentally not there that day in school, and the police weren't inclined to take a bribe at the time, but Howler and the insurance company catches wind of this. Still bitter about what Jodio's father did, they worked with the bully's parents to come up with fabricated yet convincing evidence against his child. They threaten him to take the blame and pay 10x the claim (since it was a little more than the money he had Howler pay to the Alohaoes) or they would give the fake evidence to the police and have Dragona arrested. The insurance company, seeing that their top employee was in controversy and not wanting their business to lose more profit because of it, also forced him to resign.

Jodio's father knew his child would never do such a thing and that the evidence was all fake, but he accepted the resignation and the debt for Dragona's sake. Part of why he's not able to take the kids and Barbara Ann was them still holding onto that fake evidence and claiming they can always send it into the police if he fails to finish his payments or tries anything to take his children with him; in other words, the Joestars are almost like hostages in Hawaii. He also didn't want Dragona to feel guilty or that they were at fault for the mess.

So, that explains what Barbara Ann meant when she tried to explain to her children why their father had to leave yet the circumstances were absurd.

Two things to add:

What if the bus death was planned and Usagi and Jodio's fathers were punished for investigating the lava rock?

Does Usagi know about this? Will he ever know?

auntie’s sister - Usagi’s parents theory

oh yeah, I remembered what I remembered a few days ago: why I think Auntie has a younger sister that's in the Miyamoto family line, instead of younger brother - because of the whole meaning of Yuichi as it is written, as a given name.

Yuichi Usagi is the first son in a while. Maybe even since Auntie's own grandfather?

So this ties back to the whole "What's in a name" theory post I made a while back, where I connected Senso and Samurai Rabbit.

Because Yuichi spelled as both 雄一 and ユウイチ - Yūichi - means “heroic first (son)” - maybe he was named that bc the family hasn't seen a son in a long time? So by that reasoning, it makes even more sense if Yuichi is more like a title or nickname in this case, but Usagi places it in the same way as he would a family name bc their family didn't have a name for a long time as farmers.

And so, going from that reason, maybe his family line tying him back to Miyamoto Usagi, must be maternal - his mother and grandmother at least, since Auntie mentions his great-grandfather - so for a few generations, the family didn’t have sons at all. Anyway, that’s just a theory I remembered now ^^

As an additional theory/headcanon, maybe even that they were overjoyed to have someone carry a family name but by that time, Neo Edo had changed so much that Miyamoto Usagi had already been branded a traitor in the city, without the family knowing about it. So what do they do? Perhaps they decided not associate with him as openly, to avoid scrutiny because it was hard to change public opinion - and after Usagi’s parents died, Auntie cut off ties from the city entirely. She passes on some of the stories about family history, and Yuichi sticks as a family name to Usagi because that’s the only other name he got.  imo, auntie seemed fairly in the dark about how much Neo Edo had changed while she was away from it, so it’s a possibility that the perception about Miyamoto Usagi changed during her lifetime, e.g. after the war she was in. But that’s backstory we don’t know exactly, so this is just headcanon and fanfic territory for now ^^ 

Anyway, that’s probably why I headcanon that auntie had a younger sister who’s the parent, because the Yuichi name seemed somehow to tie into this family history for me xD even tho the show itself is slightly vague about it (auntie just says “I promised your parents” it does leave this theory open as a possibility.

Thinking about the idea of accepting yourself through others

Having a self hatred to yourself that when you find an imperfection, you focus soley on that. You look at yourself in the mirror and you see only it, even if its not actually visible, even if its just a concept. You wish it wasnt there, that you were normal

But then someone you love has that same imperfection, they reveal it or maybe it was already seen but for some reason its the first time you've noticed it. Whether they're ashamed or not, whether they're shy about it, they've opened up and talked about it

And instead of being hateful towards this person for having the same imperfection as you, you welcome them with open arms, you accept them for who they are without a second thought

And then the next time you look in the mirror, you wonder why you were ever ashamed of something so normal in the first place

Common characteristics for each characters' iteration (when they act differently). And how I connect them, personality-wise.

I seem to think about how I tie the every-tmnt-iteration (past and present) characters in a way that each one won't be OOC (out of character) from another. A justification theories and all.

I did for Leo.

Now I'll do for R and a bit for the M-guy.

In 2003 R was pissy and had a foggy head when pushed too much (agitated, purposefully angered, or neglected might be). M's favorite pastime was to come and bother him, on purpose. Making him angry, knowingly.

You know for M it might be nice for him to have as much of a hyper friend like him as not to disturb and bother his bros. He tries to be positive and pass his time by trolling and being kind of mean to his bros. Esp to Raph when he (emotionaly) wears out quickly.

R has a thick shell like he doesn't really wanna allow anyone unless they know they are genuinelynice. He also likes to pride by achievements (fights perhaps) also has an ego but is defensive for his ego. While Mikey is on the way and playing with it. You know like bothering a tame dragon. On purpose. Like a purposeful d.

R would be glad to have smb to be secure and tame with (not nessessarily a love interest). Like Peter Parker when he goes to Mary Jane (her character majorly lacking, she sucks, clearly writers had no idea with her, who she iswhat her life was that kind of stuff). He goes to her after a very rough day, beatings, struggles, villains, flying etc. But R is stuck with himself. Almost everyone is emotionally stunted, D doesn't have to deal with psychological stuff, he has a hobby, M is a jerk and L seems to like to order around (maybe he doesn't like, depends. When he cant help himself that's when). He might need to meet and talk to a pyichatrist that would be nice. (Imagine the setting)

He is stuck with himself. He and his emotions.

And the bravery. He needs to remind himself to get a hold of himself. Maybe. He doesn't like ... maybe he thinks he has no personality, a monster-freak. He is passionate and ready to fight anyone that gets in the way of their group, but sadly M uses that care and push in order to run against, offender attempts against him. M is a jerk but he wants to stay positive (could be insecure too, why not) and that could mean he can do it on account of his bros. Could be gluttonous and take away kept food without warning.

Everybody is emotionally detached and hurt, and has a "?"sign about many things about themsleves (L is identity, R is his feels that he pretends he doesn'thave and D is focusing on his hobbies and tries to ignore pesky "?"s: depression and clingy thoughts maybe he is a faithful person(there's smth that keeps him gentle is it the TV series? Is it the faith in himself that he can change (life, make it more appealing and comfortable) and play as a benefit to their closed ones?)).

And M needs to have fun(be positive) in a mean way. Like a mosquito.

Edit: my HC for why Rise Mikey is tame. The 3 Brothers have been alright that M is in a position of "being taken care of, fave child and loved" from the 3. While '03 M was super bothersome because 4 were basically equal. So he was less about "being fave and more loved child" part and "parents being more attentive to him and his emotional needs", rather than he is one of tmnt and even viewed more of a slacker and a bothersome bro, rather than someone doing smth worthy and useful for the day. In Rise they came to the consensus and understanding about M. He also needs to be careful because now he has 3 more "parents", who have their own vision for how he needs to be brought up. Maybe beaten up too, a bit abused 🤔 🤷

M is self-serving, while D is detached (has passions and interests that make him feel better accomplishing).

Haha, I'm glad you're interested, Anon! Like I said I'm very new to Enstars and haven't read through/watched/listened to everything but I'd be happy to tell you my fave stuff. And again, this is where everything stands as of now as I am new and am slowly making my way through the available content. Other than which unit is my top fave (and by association their characters and songs), there's always a possibility my tastes may change as I become more knowledgeable about what there is to offer but here's where my stuff stands as of now.

Fave Units

Other than the first unit, the rest are in no particular order. And this isn't necessarily just about songs (as for one unit in this list I only like two of their songs to date and for another as of now it's MAINLY how their voices that I like them despite also only liking a couple of their songs to date😅), it's a mix of music/characters/vibes.

Ryuseitai (There's a fucking tokusatsu themed idol group in this series and NO ONE wanted to tell me????? I grew up a Power Rangers girl, of COURSE I'd click with this squad, there's soooo much I enjoy about them from their music to their characters to their dynamics! And with each new story I read that have them involved, I grow more and more in love with these guys! Also you guys should've seen my expression when I learned Chiaki's VA Yuichi Jose also voiced Felix from 3H!)

Alkaloid (My face when I learned Gakuto Kajiwara voiced Hiiro: 🤯🤯🤯, another group where I really enjoy the characters and dynamics, plus they have some incredible vocals in their group!)

Crazy:B (I ADORE their vocals and I really like their characters as well! Also Rinne and Hiiro are brothers and you guys should know I adore sibling dynamics so that's definitely catching my eye!)

Ra*bits (Despite typically not caring for the overly cutesy themed groups, I don't know I ended up attached to these guys! There's something surprisingly endearing to me about their characters. This is the group I said earlier I only like two songs for as of now.)

Eden (Yuma Uchida, we meet again!!!! This is the group I was talking about before where I said it's their vocals I mainly like them for as of now)

Fave Characters

Other than the top two spots, there's no particular order as of now for the other characters I like so I'm just gonna list the top two and then group everyone else together.

Chiaki

Kanata, Midori, Tetora, and Shinobu

Yes, I know I'm cheating with that second spot but I really love all of Ryuseitai! While Chiaki is unquestionably my fave of Ryuseitai and of the Enstars cast as a whole, for the rest of them I haven't quite decided on an order. Kanata's charming, Midori's relatable, Tetora's energetic, and Shinobu's entertaining! Maybe Midori would be my second fave but like I said, it's not a given as of the moment.

Other characters I really like right now include: Hiiro, Tatsumi, Rinne, Kohaku, Niki, Jun, Subaru, Mao, Nazuna, Tomoya, Mitsuru, Adonis, and Eichi.

You know, while I'm here, let me expand at least a little bit more on why I love Chiaki so much in particular. I have said several times that I really adore genki guys, so Chiaki definitely clicked for me there. But as I read more about him and saw the different sides to him, I grew more and more in love with how he is as a character. He has so many interesting sides to him! That he was so sickly as a child. That while coming across as your typical dumb, energetic jock at first glance it's revealed he's a massive bookworm to the point of having reading glasses and was an honor student in school on top of being so athletic! That he's actually a lot more serious and insightful than you would think. That he used to be far more timid and all that before he became the Chiaki we meet in the present day. And so on and so forth, I really look forward to learning more about him!

Fave Songs

This list will be in no particular order since I don't really have any sort of ranking in mind. These are just all the songs I love as of now!

Rebellion Star (Very first Enstars song I ever heard YEARS ago. Fun fact I learned about Hokuto's VA change by randomly finding this song again and being soooo fucking confused why Hokuto sounded different than I remembered.)

Daydream x Reality (It's just really catchy, what can I say?)

Ryusei Hanabi (Probably the best song Ryuseitai has come out with to date, it's soooo damn catchy! I really enjoy festival style songs. This was actually the second Enstars song I ever heard years ago, and it's still as much of a bop now as it was when I first heard it.)

Suisei Halation (I love the older television theme song style sound to it, it's a very close second in Ryuseitai's discography for me.)

The Unrivaled Meteor Ranger (I really enjoy how their voices sound in this one!)

Nekketsu Ryusei Ninpoujou (Had no business being as much of an earworm as it is. And the MV for it is suuuuuuuuuper colorful and fun!)

Colors Arise (Another one that feels like a sentai theme song, the MV is also really damn cool!)

Meteor Scramble Ryuseitai (I adore the fact that they managed to put their names into the lyrics, it's really darn cute!)

Melty Kitchen (The way I originally thought this was too cutesy for me only for it to embed itself in my brain within a week!)

Fallin' Love It's Wonderland (Hands down my fave for Ra*bits, this song is catchy and cool and has an awesome MV. Mitsuru sounds so damn good in this song!)

You're Speculation (My feelings for this song were like a roller coaster the first few times I heard it, but I ended up really liking it in the end!)

Believe 4 Leaves (What a song! Mayoi's VA truly is one of the best of the cast, this song was love at first listen for me!)

Undying Holy Love (Yes, I know the full version isn't out yet but the little I heard from the MV is already spectacular! I love me some disco style songs!)

Psyche's Butterfly (I don't know, I just liked this one.)

Exceed (Holy fuck, I loved Jun's vocals in this song, his voice is really gorgeous!)

Deep Eclipse (I loved how their high notes sounded in this song although I will say I never watched the MV again after the first time because of the secondhand embarrassment from the hip/crotch shots...)

Stippling (Another one where I don't know, it's just really addicting to listen to!)

Crazy Roulette (I loved it from the very first time I heard it, it's catchy and the vocals are amazing. Plus the MV is so damn good, the characters have such good stage presence in it.)

Yubisaki no Ariadne (I love the somewhat softer feel this song has, I wanna hear more of this type of song from Crazy:B!)

Helter Spider (This and Crazy Roulette are fighting to the bitter end for my fave song from this unit's discography. The way everyone's voices sound in this song is top tier.)

Gekkou Kitan (I accidentally clicked on this song on YouTube and boy am I glad I did, it's such a banger!)

Fight for Judge (Another song I had heard several years ago that engraved itself in my head. I feel like Arashi's singing in this song is unique compared to the rest of Knights' songs and I don't know why.)

Silent Oath (This is the final song on the Enstars list that I already knew of ahead of time from listening to it years ago. This is another song that was a roller coaster that finally settled on me liking it.)

Artistic Partisan (What was the MV for this song so damn cool for??? Anyways, I really enjoyed how Valkyrie and Alkaloid sounded in this song, their voices worked well together!)

Moonlight Disco (I said I loved disco style songs and I meant it! This is such a good song, I am soooooo happy it's finally available in the English version of the game, it's such a fun one to play in the rhythm game!)

Date Plan A to Z (This is such a cute song and super duper catchy! Plus, starring some of the best vocals of the game in my opinion.)

Midnight Butlers (For the first week after I heard this song I would randomly start humming the chorus, it's really good!)

Majestic Magic (Fun fact, it took me four tries to full combo this song on NORMAL mode because I was vibing so hard to it. Embarrassing to admit, I know...)

Brand New Stars (The song itself is an absolute bop but you do NOT know how excited I was to learn that in the game everyone sings as themselves for this song, so you can come up with all sorts of combos, it's fantastic!)

Walk With Your Smile (It's a really sweet and gentle song, I enjoy it. Another one I was excited to learn everyone sings as themselves in the game.)

Rainbow Stairway (Another case of playing the song by accident on YouTube and ending up pleasantly surprised!)

Hamtaro Tottoko Uta (I will fight tooth and nail for this song's honor!!!! It has Ryuseitai! It has Ra*bits! It has fucking HAMTARO! Fuck everyone else, I will defend this song with my life!)

Aisle Be With You (This is me editing this post to add this song because I can’t BELIEVE I forgot to list this one!!!! It’s such a beautiful song and equally beautiful MV with gut wrenching lyrics!)

an idea; a (bottom) male reader who’s apart of an indie jpop boy group. The members are just you, a childhood friend, and three other people you met through college/random events. Your group was lucky one of the members comes from a rich family that doesn’t mind spending some money to help you guys out—waiting until a company finds interest and asks to manage you.

The first month or so is rough so you all find part time jobs in the mean time. But regular jobs just don’t interest you so it takes you awhile to even apply for any… mostly getting fired after the first week or so because you end up showing late all the time.

You’re left wondering what to do when you come across a website of camboys and camgirls. Some of them show full nudity while others stay dressed for the most part.

It intrigues you enough but you don’t do it without running it through your members. They’re mostly shocked you even want to do that… but other than that, they just tell you to not speak and wear a mask.

Easy peasy. You chose a simple and almost silly name, “Shy Usagi” since your mask resembled a rabbit.

The first stream is awkward, you had to figure out a way to talk. Surprisingly, a few of the people that dropped in were intrigued by your refusal to talk. You had expected them to immediately want you naked but it seemed you attracted people that liked the teasing aspect of camboys.

Though you were 99% sure it was only men watching you. The first few weeks, you only wore skimpy clothing and did anything they requested. The most sexual thing you did was suck a dildo.

Occasionally you’d masturbate on live and that would always garner more attention. But there was always one person who would tip you no matter the stream.

You were sure he was probably an old man but you didn’t care, money was money. He knew how to flirt so you never felt weirded out with his attention.

It took a second before you finally realized what he wanted. “Oh! Sure.” You were a bit excited, having never really signed anything before. Your signature was a bit messy but still legible.

“Here you go, thanks for coming to see us!”

“I only came to see you.”

“Hm?” You leaned in closer, wondering if you had heard him right. Only you?

The man let out a laugh as he reached up and pulled down his mask, leaning down so you could get a clear look at his face. “Mhm. Only you… (Name)… or ah,”

His hand reached up and cupped your face, his thumb pressing on your bottom lip. It was only when he pulled off his cap that you got a good look at his face.

He… he wasn’t some random guy. He was a famous actor… a famous actor knew about you?

“Shy Usagi? It’s nice to see your entire face… that mask never hid your lips.”

You could stare as he pushed his thumb into your mouth. The only thing you were thinking of was if he was about to ruin your career before it even took off? But why would he care? Why was he even—

“Don’t worry your pretty little head. Someone like you isn’t made to think so hard,” he said, a slight frown on his lips. “I just, well I got tired of watching behind a screen. I wanted to touch you…”

His other hand moved to rest on your hip, pulling you closer as he pressed his lips against your ear.

“To be inside of you instead of that dildo… I mean, I’m paying you so much money, it’s only fair I get to have you, right? Mhm? I can have you, yea? I’ve thought of fucking your mouth for days now.”

“(Name)! Where are you?”

He pulled away, rolling his eyes. You only watched as he slipped back on his mask and cap, pulling your shirt back down. “You’ll stream tonight.” He said, as if he was giving you an order, not asking.

With that he left you standing there, mouth agape just as one of your members walked over to you.

Running away from a man shooting every person in sight with a huge rifle was a big challenge when you were 7 months pregnant. You didn't know what the gun was called, but when the bullet hit its target, it would basically cut your body in half. Hiding behind a car would be useless, as the car would be in pieces as well.

Running fast enough was already difficult, almost impossible, but your heavy stomach, bearing another human being, was making it a lot harder. It didn't take long to be out of breath and your legs were going to betray you any moment. Chishiya's hand was pulling you forward and you could barely keep up. He would soon have to drag your body against the ground, and then you'd both be dead.

This was it. You had played several games, somehow been able to beat them all with the help of your friends, which was a miracle itself. Especially without Arisu, Usagi, Kuina and Chishiya you would have died ages ago.

Before your pregnancy, you had been quite a fast runner and could run fast for a long period of time. Now? The total opposite.

Finally, you could sit down on the ground, leaning against a car. You had to only hope that the shooter had passed you and wasn't going to blow it up.

"You doing okay?" Chishiya looked at you with concern when you closed your eyes and threw your head back, breathing loudly.

"Yeah, yeah, i'm fine," you nodded, barely being able to talk. "Just can't run anymore."

Seeing a massive airship floating in the sky almost right above you, a large playing card hanging from it, you finally came into a conclusion what was going on.

"Well, he must be the King of Spades," Chishiya said next to you, leaning against the car.

Absolutely amazing - now the entire Tokyo was a game arena?

The shooting had stopped for a moment, but the shooter – or more specifically the King, should you call him – could come out from any corner at any second, surprising you completely.

Ann arrived with a car, telling all of you to hop in. However, Chishiya was left behind, because of a grenade that had been thrown between him and the car.

As were you with him.

The others were gone now, driven away with the car. You and Chishiya were left alone to find a way to survive on your own. You were relieved to have Chishiya with you, he was extremely smart and knew how to survive different situations.

Previously many of your teammates had helped you, but now it was just the two of you. For a second you were slightly afraid that taking care of you alone would become too much to Chishiya if the King of Spades found you out of all people and started chasing you. You could tell that running with you was challenging to him.

You were starving, not remembering when was the last time you got proper food, and eventually found a small grocery store which windows had been shattered.

Chishiya started browsing for food while you waited, leaning against the counter. Soon, he came back with the most suitable and edible food he could find in this situation.

"Cash or credit?"

"Aren't you a little too pregnant to be working?"

"Don't underestimate me, Doctor Shuntaro," you teased him.

You pretended to scan each item like you had worked here for years.

"Thank you for shopping with us, please come again," you said with your best customer service voice.

"You definitely deserve the best worker of the month award," he praised you, almost impressed, and clapped his hands a few times.

"Finally someone gives my work credit," you said, hand on your chest.

There was a small table and two chairs by the window. You and Chishiya dragged them away from the window, so you could sit down in the back of the room and not be seen to anyone possibly walking past the store.

"Here you go," Chishiya said and offered you food and a plastic fork, along with a bottle of water, as you sat down. "It's not much but it's the best i got now without any electricity to heat it up."

"Thank you," you said quietly.

You ate in comfortable silence. You hadn't realized how dizzy you had started to feel after all the running and having not eaten or drank water in hours.

"Are you sure you're feeling alright?" Chishiya asked when he was finished with his meal and put his hand gently on yours, looking concerned.

"Yeah, i'm fine," you mumbled and stretched a little. "My back just hurts."

"Let's take a break and lay down for a while, okay?"

"But shouldn't we stay on the move? The King of Spades might come back and-"

"We'll be safe enough here for a while. Take a short nap, i'll keep an eye on the surroundings," he insisted. "You need more rest than me."

You were sleepy, so you weren't going to resist too much. You hadn't slept properly in a while.

Chishiya watched you sleep on your left side, your head on his lap to use as a pillow. You clinged on his leg with both of your arms, and he gently brushed your hair with his fingers to soothe you to sleep.

You were so beautiful, and he knew that he didn't say it to you often enough - as often as you would have deserved.

Chishiya was terrified every second of being in this world, having to play the games with you on his side. He wasn't afraid of many things, but you? If he lost you, he'd also lose your baby. His unborn child. And that was easily his biggest fear.

You had been in a relationship together for the past three years, and the pregnancy hadn't been planned, at all. Chishiya wasn't sure if he would ever want children, and when you told him that you were pregnant, he didn't know what to think. But it didn't take him too long to get used to the idea of becoming a father. And having you as the mother was everything he could have wished for.

You, however, hadn't considered becoming a mother at this age and had cried in the bathroom for an hour after seeing the two lines on the pregnancy test. Now, as the months had passed, you had gotten used to the idea of having a child and were more ready with Chishiya's constant support, who you loved and trusted with all your heart.

You just had to finish the rest of the games and hopefully, you could then return home - before you'd start delivering the baby.

You entered a new game with Chishiya inside an old prison.

Jack of Hearts - Solitary confinement.

This was absolutely the ideal game for you, since all you could do was just chill and sit around until it was time to go into your little prison cell to announce the correct symbol on the back of your collar. And for that, you had Chishiya revealing it for you. As long as Chishiya was there for you, you had nothing to worry about.

People formed groups, telling each other everyone's symbols, so other people could confirm they were telling the truth.

"Hi," a girl in a blue dress greeted with an eager smile, approaching you. "Want to join our group?"

You glanced at Chishiya, unsure, but nodded your head.

"Sure, why not," you shrugged. Mom always told you to try and be more social.

Slowly, as the rounds went by, people started to lie and betray each other, which ended up more and more people being eliminated. This was a Heart's game, after all, it was supposed to mess with both your head and heart.

"Listen, let me worry about the game, you just remember your symbol and rest, okay?" Chishiya had said earlier, giving your hand a squeeze.

Chishiya had been eyeing the other people and trying to study any hints that could lead him to reveal someone as the Jack of Hearts. He hadn't told you much about his thoughts, probably still trying to decide his opinions on the players.

Right now, you sat at the table, looking towards the group which was sharing their symbols with each other. It was like watching a high school drama all over again, except now people were getting killed.

"Here," Chishiya said, sitting next you, and laid food on the table in front of you. "You need to eat."

He had grabbed two different kinds of crackers, a bottle of water, some orange juice, and a can of soup.

"I just did, i'm fine," you tried to refuse, even though you knew you could have eaten a little bit more. Chishiya just stared at you with no expression on his face.

"Yes, but you need to eat more, since you're eating for two," he insisted and wasn't having a 'no' for an answer.

You rolled your eyes, and he noticed it, giving you a look.

"Fine, fine, Doctor Shuntaro," you smirked.

After you had finished eating, you went to the bathroom again - you were sure you'd have to pee every hour. Washing your hands and your face, you heard someone arriving to the bathroom.

"Hello," a young girl greeted you nervously, taking careful steps towards you. "Sorry to bother you, but could you tell me the symbol on my collar? I don't really trust my group anymore and, well, you seem nice."

"Um, sure," you mumbled and looked at the girl's symbol. "It's a diamond."

"You sure?"

"I have fully functional eyes."

"Thank you so much," the girl said, giving you an excited smile.

You didn't bother to include yourself in that drama club and lie for no proper reason, you had decided to keep your distance to them since you didn't need help with your symbol. You doubted any of them would be the Jack, but who knew - the Jack could be a girl too, after all. If they started manipulating and lying to each other, that was on them.

A few more rounds passed, and you were starting to become really sleepy. By now you had been at the prison for 8 hours and you had no idea how much longer all this would take. Chishiya had been feeding you crackers and other snacks almost every hour, now that you had food available a lot easier.

You wondered if your friends were alright, though you knew all of them were strong and if they had survived this far, they must be able to handle anything. Still, of course you couldn't help but to worry.

You walked around the place and tried to search for a corner to take a quick nap, there was 36 minutes left until you had to go back to your cell.

Then, you had to stop walking when you felt sudden pain and pressure on your stomach. You let out a loud gasp, startling any few people nearby and make them look at you. You leaned against the nearest wall, so you wouldn't fall on the floor.

No, no, no, no. You weren't going to start delivering your baby a month or two early. Especially in the middle of the game where there was a time limit and a chance to be killed. Of course they wouldn't stop the game for a moment if there was a woman on labour.

Chishiya had heard you and instantly ran towards you. His eyes widened when you were holding your stomach in pain.

"Y/N? What's happening?" Chishiya asked, trying to hide his panic so you wouldn't start to freak out even more.

"I-I don't know," you mumbled and truly started to panic. "It just hurts. I don't know. Oh my god, Chishiya, I-"

"Okay, calm down. You're having contractions, it doesn't necessarily mean the baby's coming, okay?" he tried to reassure you, his hand on your cheek. "Look at me. Just breathe, take a deep breath."

You did as he told, taking deep breaths and squeezing Chishiya's hand every time the waves of pain took hold of your stomach. If this hurt, you didn't want to know how much it hurt to push the baby out of you - your pain tolerance was extremely poor.

"I can't do this, any of this, i'm-"

"Yes, you can, darling," Chishiya said softly.

After some time, it stopped. You sat on the floor, back against the wall, for the next twenty minutes, Chishiya holding your hand the entire time and gently rubbing your back.

"See? Everything's fine," he said calmly and put his arm around you, keeping you close against him.

"You know," you started, eyes starting to water. "I haven't felt any movements from the baby in a few days. What if something's wrong?"

"Listen," Chishiya said. "Contractions are normal, even when the baby won't come yet. The baby might not move every day, it's normal. You'll just have to stay calm and try to avoid too much stress. And i know that's a lot to ask for in our current situation."

You nodded, unsure, but trying to believe his words as well as possible. He was a doctor after all, right?

"Next round, we'll get you a place to sleep for a moment," Chishiya promised. There was 9 minutes left to announce your symbols.

"You know, when the baby will be born, we'll have a lot more different story on how the pregnancy went than other expecting mothers," you chuckled. "Like, not many moms can say that they've run away from a shooter while being on their third trimester of their pregnancy."

Chishiya smiled. "Or spent a day in a prison with no actual guards around."

An older man walked past you, still sitting on the floor, leaning against Chishiya.

"My God. Are you okay? How on earth have you survived this far being pregnant like that?" he asked in shock, surely seen the scene just a moment ago.

"Well, i've had a lot of help," you shrugged.

You had been used to people commenting on your pregnancy. Every time you met someone knew, they just stared at your stomach for too long, feeling bad for you and considering you the weakest player of the group. You stood out from the rest of the people around, it was understandable. At first it had bothered you, but now you were so tired of it you just felt numb.

Arriving to the Beach for the first time, the entire pool party had quieted down for a moment when people saw you.

"Here, it is required to only wear a swimsuit," they had announced, but looking at you, they let you wear more clothes. Thank god for that. You weren't exactly very fond of showing off your stretch marks and everything. You had been given shorts and an oversized t-shirt - it was the same shirt you still had on.

In the end of the current game, only four people came out from the cells alive, after the Jack had guessed the wrong symbol, and left the prison, two of them you and Chishiya. It had been the first game where you could have actually relaxed and sat back for a while.

If there had been a proper bed, you wouldn't have minded to stay a bit longer too.

"So, what now?" you asked.

"We'll try to find a place to spend the night."

It was becoming the night and you had been walking almost half an hour on the streets, trying to find a good place to hide and sleep.

You found a small hostel, completely abandoned and empty, and found your way into one of the rooms. The door was locked, but Chishiya could easily pick the lock open. You were able to sleep on a real bed again, you could have started crying from even the thought of it. The sheets weren't fresh at all and the blanket was really thin, but you couldn't complain.

You laid yourself on the bed, it felt so good to feel an actual mattress and a pillow under you, you felt like your body could melt there like a cotton candy in water. Chishiya came to lay down next to you after removing his shirt, warming you better with his bare skin. He cupped your cheek and pulled you in a sweet kiss.

Suddenly, you winced when you felt a kick inside your stomach. Chishiya immediately sat up, concerned.

"What's wrong? Did the contractions start again?"

You grabbed his hand and put it on your stomach, trying the correct spot to find any movements, and when he felt a kick right against his hand, he flinched and a smile spread on his lips.

You started laughing, with a few tears of relief and happiness, and he laughed a little too.

"We'll be alright," Chishiya whispered. He hugged you and kissed your forehead.

"I hope so," you said quietly.

"I love you," he whispered and looked you deep into your eyes. "You know that, right?"

"Are you saying that in case the King of Spades comes to shoot us in our sleep?" you teased. "Honestly, that would definitely be cheating."

"I doubt he's going to find us here," he assured you and pressed a kiss on your hair. "Good night."

"Good night," you answered and turned on your side. Chishiya's arm wrapped around your stomach, pulling you against his chest.
