i've spent the past month of my life rotting in like a chill liminal space sorta way kinda not rlly this project has been pretty much done since before winter break but i was away from my pc for a month so i couldn't put the finishing touches on it

then i was like yeah im gonna come up with promo before i even announce it but then i realized im not finishing or continuing the whole otherwrld thing for a while (more on this later) so i dont even wanna promo it with all the comic shit and the animation shit then i realized idfk how to promote it at all and sat around waiting for the ideas to come to me newsflash tho, shit doesnt come to you magically just because you wait around and hope for it desperately enough, the universe is nowhere near that generous. writing generates thought, not the other way around, and similarly, work inspires motivation, not vice versa i still dont really know how im gonna promo slaps but ive really been fuckin up lately and i woke up today wondering if this is just it, if i'm just the same 17 year old kid i was in the beginning, watching myself ruin my own life day by day, decision by decision, except in a 21 year old body with twice the experience and half the determination...

the answer ofc is no. i've carved a good future out for myself and i'm surrounded by great people. the only missing part has been me, waking up and deciding to be better every day, not because i want someone to witness it but because improving fulfills me, dropping music fulfills me, and sitting around feeling comfortable does not

ur music (and “ep” covers and promo material) are all ai generated and it’s super obvious. you’re not a real artist, you just steal from people who are real artists.

admittedly the promo material might be generated i just used the shit distrokid made so cant say much there. distrokid also used an ai to master the tracks before pushing them out. i just checked yes in the box cause it made the audio quality better

i made all of my album covers myself using canva. if any of those assets (which btw i pay a subscription to use) is ai generated im not aware of it

as for my music - i write all my lyrics myself. i heavily use drum loops and sampling. i download royalty free sounds to use. i also heavily modify my voice using filters which i guess could be considered ai? as in its automatic i dont go in and change everything by hand. im trans n hate how my voice sounds lol so yeah i fuck it up to make it unrecognizable.

ive also experimented with creating a voice model of my own voice to use which is an artistic choice to play with the idea of inhumanity and being a copy or clone. dinner has an audio loop of a text to speech reader over the top of it.

if you dont like my music thats fine. if you think it sounds bad thats fine. theres shit about it i dont like n i made it. im an amateur artist and im learning as i go. i make music because its a fun creative outlet for me. the only reason i put my music on spotify n shit is because people asked me to. im not here to do anything other than have a good time.

Not exactly House of Anubis-related. More so House of Anubis-adjacent lost media (Victoria Duffield is the sister of Burkely Duffield, who plays Eddie on the show). I've had the audio for these songs for a while now, but seeing as this could easily become lost media, I figured I would share the songs here.

What are these songs?

To understand the origins of these rare Victoria Duffield songs, we need to understand a bit about music in Japan. For whatever reason, the cost to make a CD locally in Japan is actually more expensive than it is to make a CD elsewhere and import it into Japan. That's why many artists (not just Victoria Duffield) have Japan-exclusive bonus tracks. The idea is to incentivize locals to buy Japanese CDs instead of importing an internationally-made CD.

Victoria Duffield had two albums previously released through Warner Music Canada: Shut Up and Dance and Accelerate. Shut Up and Dance's only Japanese exclusive tracks were her cover of Last Christmas, the french versions of Shut Up and Dance and Break My Heart, and remixes of Shut Up and Dance and Feel, all of which are easily available on YouTube and/or streaming services.

Accelerate, however, is a different story. 2 Become 1 has an exclusive version with JPOP singer CIMBA. Additionally, there are bonus tracks in the form of Say It Like You Mean It, You're Gonna Be Mine, and We Takin' Over. Of those four songs, only the last one is readily available on streaming services as a single. The other three have the potential to get lost to time (more on this later).

How did I get these songs?

I never purchased Accelerate on CD from Japan, which currently is only available on the used market as no new pressings are being made. As a result, I imagine they are hard to come by. But right now, that's the only way to (legally) acquire these songs. I never did purchase the exclusive CIMBA version of 2 Become 1, either. However, I did purchase Say It Like You Mean It and You're Gonna Be Mine on iTunes. I did this by creating a new Apple ID with a Japanese address and buying a Japanese iTunes gift card to make the purchase. However, this is no longer possible to do for these songs. While you may be able to get other artists' Japanese bonus tracks this way, you can't do it with Victoria Duffield's songs anymore. I explain why below.

How did this become lost media?

Long story short, there was a brief moment in 2019 when Shut Up and Dance and Accelerate were no longer on Spotify or other streaming services. This was because Victoria Duffield managed to buy back the rights to her masters she put out on Warner Music Canada. She then re-released them herself through DistroKid (the distributor she used to self-release Day Won earlier that year). When this happened, the Japanese version of Accelerate (with all her other releases through WMG) was pulled from digital music storefronts and services. While all of her other music was merely unavailable temporarily during this switch, these bonus tracks remain unavailable to buy online in any capacity (outside of used CDs from Japan). As a result, these songs have the potential to become lost media, but not anymore!

Why am I posting it now?

In theory, the only person who can authorize an official release of these songs are Victoria and her team. Victoria Duffield should own the rights to these Japanese bonus tracks. I would love to maybe see an EP released one day, with these bonus tracks as well as other unreleased songs she performed live in the past, like Alone Tonight and Because We're Young. But I doubt that will ever happen.

Until then, I wanted to preserve these songs and make them available for the first time broadly. Unfortunately, I had to re-encode the files from AAC to MP3 so I could post it to Tumblr. The audiophile in me doesn't like this, but there's no other way to do so. But hey: At least you can enjoy these songs in some capacity. I see no good reason to hoard these audio files to myself outside of copyright reasons. With that said, if anyone from Victoria or her team messages me and asks that these be taken down, I will comply. I'll also delete it the moment Victoria Duffield releases these bonus tracks online herself. I'm merely doing this to preserve these songs for her fans that could easily become lost media otherwise.

Hey, I've just been curious as to what you did to put your music on Spotify. I've looked into doing it myself but thought I could get some insight from somebody who has done it already and has the first hand experience before jumping into the process.

had nothing but good experiences. fairly simple, you pay them a fee and them some extra and then they send it out. gotta make sure to have the lyrics of any songs with lyrics written out for the censors or explicit and have rights to any album artwork you use.

I've wanted to get my OSTs on Spotify for soooo long, and that dream has finally become a reality x3 It's only 1 track because The Shuddering's OST only has 1 BGM as per O2A2 VN Jam requirements, haha. But it's a start! I just figured with it only being 1 track, it would be a good one to experiment with since I was clueless about the entire process >.< It all seems to have gone smoothly though, and is now available on Spotify, YouTube Music, and many other places if you happen to want to listen to it :3 With any luck, I will eventually be able to get all of my game soundtracks on there! It will take a bit of time, but since I currently don't have a PC to work on & the potato laptop isn't capable of a great deal, it's something I'll at least be trying to do, haha. Hey unsure of where I wanted to post this but I wanted to do an update thing and to announce a couple of big things!

So I've been doing personal stuff at the moment, getting the whole house rearranged currently, and my room is the part I've been getting at for a while, I've also been recently taking good care of myself, finding myself and ensuring the best for me and both my physical and mental health. Once everything finally comes together and everything is in motion, I have 2 BIG things, 2 BIG projects that I have been working on. 1. Somewhere around September/October(i don't remember much) is where my friend @mooniestarrcat introduced me to the comic series that I've been enjoying reading a lot titled 'Sparklecare'. It only took a bit for me to ultimately decide the perfect way for me to share my appreciation for the series: Create a fan project of course. What was initially going to be a game, will currently be kept as a comic for the time being, as I'm still a MASSIVE rookie when it comes to gamedev, but as my gamedev skills improve enough, and people are interested, that is where I create the game version of it. Keep in mind the comic and game will be written a little bit differently, also my friend Moonie will help me with it too! 2. I don't know if people here on tumblr who are more than likely from the Sparklecare community know about my music, but on October 13th, 2023, I released my Nu Metal EP over on Bandcamp, which got only a little bit of traction that year, but regardless, I was real proud of it for it's time, even the self-proclaimed CEO of Nu Metal. Holiday Kirk gave my 4th song 'Necessity' praise!

Well good news for everyone who enjoyed my EP and people who still enjoy listening to my music, I am working on a whole ALBUM! YEP! that's right, a whole album. But it's not just your average joe album, it's one that I deeply connect with, one that has been healing me pretty well, and my main goal with this album is to share it with all of you and hopefully heal you too in some way. Right now I'm working on a demo which will be an EP with 5 tracks with two possible covers(will not guarantee on that) on Bandcamp, but after that and I'm done creating and mixing the tracks, I will release the official album that will have a total of 9 tracks(10 if you count the intro) not only on Bandcamp, but I'll see if I can get it on Spotify and YT Music too using a distributor, I might see if Distrokid is worth it! EDIT: I lied. I don't have an official setlist of tracks for both. Speaking on both of these HUGE projects, with the album released will be an end of an era for me, and the beginning of a new and improved one. However, despite me working on the Sparklecare fan-series before this era of mine ends will NOT mean that I'll stop working on it, both of these projects are an absolute passion of mine and it means a LOT to me, after all. Thank you to friends, family, everyone, even the Nu Metal CEO, for giving me that motivation and hope needed to finally bring me where I want to be, just like in my 4th song, 'Necessity'! my message was too harsh, im sorry. as an artist i am just really exhausted by ai. i can tell your lyrics are original— honestly they’re really good. which is part of what made me feel so frustrated off the bat cus i was like “damn. shawty is spitting. but i’m pretty sure this is a robot being fed a really talented humans writing.” the voice filters do make it sound like ai though. assuming you’re being honest about them being filters, there’s no issue with that. do ur thing. but i would look into what ur distro is doing in terms of mastering the tracks with ai. could be something up with this but i’m ngl i havent heard of ai being used for this purpose yet so idk how they train the AI for mastering tracks or what that entails. again, i’m sorry for coming at u so aggro, that was not deserved and sometimes i need to learn when to take a chill pill and be less accusatory. that’s on me. btw, i think u have a nice voice :)

'my name isnt sara' is an expirmental album of me exploring different techniques to try to produce a sound that lives on the line between human and inhuman. it doesnt quite work on its own yet but its a work in progress. i dont think im quite there yet in terms of what i want my sound to be so theres variation and inconsistency there. i know there's also some dubious sound editing going on thats a symptom of me fuckin around with different software. im a techie before a musical artist n shit like theory n composition is a bit beyond me atm but im tryin to learn by doing how to make a cool n unique sound.

beyond that tho, i do rely a lot on things like filters and adjustment tools n the like to bridge the gaps where im just not confident yet. i hope the more i practice the more confident ill get vocally.

eventually I wanna write a stage show n what im doing now is practice on my way to that goal. ill definitely be doing more research into distrokid n what its doing with mastering. I'll be honest that i really don't know that much abt that. But a for profit company jumping on the ai bandwagon with shady new tech is what tech companies do lmao
