i'm listening to disjointed sections of the 3 body trilogy again and thinking abt the basic tenant that the need of a resource, no matter how great, doesn't bestow upon u the right to take it from another. the trisolarans are willing to colonize earth bc they fear a hypothetical albeit very real possibility of their own planet getting swallowed by a sun. but it's still an act of colonialism to just come to earth and slash and burn and slaughter. reminds me of ender's game and the formics terraforming the planets they expand to. how the justification for space colonization is always the right of personal survival and proliferation, at the cost of native life. (and also, humanity's fear for personal survival against a perceived threat as the recurrent justification for war and xenocide.)
beyond the very obvious parallel to modern day settler colonialism, it also brings to mind reproductive rights, and how the govt shouldn't be able to borrow your body to carry a child, even if the child has to die. doesn't matter how sentient a fetus can get. u shouldn't be forced to donate your organs to save someone else's life.

Save lives from the front lines, a call for life ..
I never thought I would create the GoFundME page, but time is changing and I am communicating with the global community with a heavy heart to get your generous support in times of enormous crises ..
My name is Hadeel Adnan Abu Nasser, I am 23 years old. I live in the northern Gaza Strip. I had a stable life and a happy family .
I recently graduated from my university from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences .
After graduating from my university. I was supposed to work in a hospital in the Gaza Strip, but unfortunately this war came and destroyed our dreams and reality.
The war came suddenly and turned my life upside down, and on 10/12/2023 in the morning I lost my dearest person on my heart .
I lost my father because of the indiscriminate shells that were thrown at civilian homes .
My father, who was a support for me and my family, who always misses us, and we lived with his tenderness and affection throughout his life, who was naughty in his life to complete our education to be successful and influential people.
The occupation killed him in cold blood, the source of our strength went in this harsh life, and everything went with him.
My father was martyred after he was injured in the chest and was taken to the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, but he was not able to help him with the lack of capabilities in the hospitals.
My dad was martyred and we didn't have a moment to say goodbye to him finally because of the danger that was surrounds all over Gaza.
We had a very difficult days after losing my father, and we had been starving for several months, and we had to eat animal fodder and earth grass ! to relieve our hunger ..
On 4/3/2024 I lost my brother with special needs, my brother, who lived an angel who had never hurt anyone, died of malnutrition, as he needed healthy food, and we were not able to provide it for him because of his high prices if available until he left us .
My family has become without breadwinner , my family, which consisted of 13 people, became 11 people. After the death of my father and brother,
My mother and stepmother are two widows, with 5 daughters and 4 sons, of whom 5 are orphans, without any breadwinner.
We can't bear more losses.
We have been living and struggling under siege for many years, and my father founded our house, which was sheltering us, until the occupation destroyed the houses adjacent to our house and swept two rooms of the house, destroying our warm house and all the memories of its corners.
We have miraculously escaped the inevitable death several times. Death was very close to us. They bombed 3 houses around our house, we saw death with our own eyes, we saw the remains, and we smelled the scent of the dead.
We had a very difficult days that normal humans could not bear.
I appeal to you in these difficult moments when we are suffering the scourge of siege and war, and we are under the weight of poverty, hunger and destitution. My family to get out of Gaza as soon as possible so that my family and I can stay in a place that suits us and is fit for living, and to live in safety, stability and calm.
This funding campaign aims to support me in rebuilding my broken life, completing my dream and establishing a future for me and my family.
Help us overcome the shock of losing everything we have, and to restore the parts of our war-breaking life. I hope you will help us escape from Gaza as soon as possible before it is too late and to establish a business project to build our future and our lives again.
I fully understand that times are difficult for everyone, but your support and donations have a direct impact on our future. We are just innocent civilians who want to live happily and safely and get out of the horrors of war.
We love life, and we just hate war like you, the least you can do is help me and my family escape as soon as possible before it's too late.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story..
I hope you can help us ...

The Ballad of the Two Travelers, Chapter Two
Chapter Two: First Steps to Friendship
Lyra was having a nightmare. She dreamed of an endless war, a pointless battle fueled by a rivalry fueled by things that should have been forgotten long ago. She dreamed of fire and lightning, clashing eternally in the heavens while the world broke. She dreamed of destruction and chaos, of decay and disease that festered and bred in the cracks of the world caused by that endless, pointless, hopeless war.
She dreamed of the cracks growing, laughing, spreading wider and wider still as hatred seeped within and drove everything further apart, a dark, tentacled miasma, reaching ever further in its will to consume all; this great evil Blight which threatened to consume the whole world.
She dreamed of the cracks already forming among her own people; the bitter, hurting wives, sisters, and daughters who in their hurt chose to hurt others, spreading their hate as they wreaked destruction upon the humans; and the few who begged for peace and were dubbed traitors by their kind. She dreamed of the great dark cavern between giantkin and humankind, a yawning abyss that would surely consume them all if they could not learn to cross it–
“L-Lyra? Lyra! Wake up, please!”
Her eyes fluttered open as she heard the anxious cries of her charge. She sat up quickly, looking around for any signs of obvious danger.
“What troubles thee, little one?” she asked after a moment. “I can sense no danger. Why dost thou cry out? Art thou hurt?”
Tristan shook his small head, and Lyra realized with a start he was quivering.
“I-I'm not hurt,” he said after a moment. “But....”
The human boy glanced at something just behind her. Lyra turned, and realized with a chill that the trees near her feet had been split and knocked over. She realized she must have kicked unconsciously in the throes of her nightmare, and had put the human boy in great danger.
“N-Nightmare?” The small voice of the human boy shook her from her disturbed thoughts. She looked down. His face held a look of such fear and apprehension, her heart nearly broke as her eyes met his.
I offer thee my most humble apologies if I have caused thee any distress. It is the duty of one such as I, who layeth claim to the role of maiden, to ensure that her charge is safe no matter what.”
She gently laid her hand in grass before him, a heavy feeling settling over her heart as he took a half-step backwards.
“Y-You don't have to apologize,” Tristan said with a smile that was clearly forced. His bright blue eyes were wide with poorly-concealed fear.
“Little one...” Lyra wanted to comfort him, to say the right words or do the right thing to reassure her little charge that she wished no harm towards him, but she could think of nothing.
She retracted her hand and laid on her side awkwardly, aware of an uneasy silence between them now. Again she wished she knew what to say, how to overcome the inevitable fear and anxiety on the small boy's part, but but her lips remained shut, and she remained silent.
It had been a little over a week since their meeting in the Misted Vales, and they'd made some progress on their journey. They were a day or so away from a human settlement Tristan had pointed out on his map, at which Lyra hoped to speak to the locals and tell them of their quest. She had hoped that Tristan's presence would inspire a call for peace, but she had to be sure that Tristan really trusted her, which had proven to be easier said than done.
Tensions were high on both their parts. Despite the lack of confrontation from either of them, there was a constant sense of disquiet between them both, a fact which maddened Lyra to no end.
It didn't help that traveling alongside a human was somewhat difficult, at least in the physical sense.
Tristan had at first tried to walk alongside Lyra as they made their way, claiming he was quick enough to keep up (he was not) and nimble enough to keep safe (he was not). Lyra, unconvinced, was therefore constantly on edge, afraid that she'd take one wrong step or careless motion and crush her little charge underfoot. She'd insisted upon carrying Tristan as they traveled, either in the palm of her hand, upon her shoulder, or within her pockets, much to the little one's chagrin. Though Tristan concealed his fear whenever they spoke, Lyra could tell he was just as nervous as she was, if not more. She could see it in the way he cast furtive glances whenever he thought she wasn't looking, and in his high-strung, stuttering manner of speech.
Lyra couldn't blame him. Tristan was barely the size of her middle finger, and was somewhat small and slight in build even for a human. To him, every little movement she made must have been terrifying, let alone the sight of her reaching for him, leaning close, or inspecting his body for wounds. Lyra herself felt nervous whenever her fingers brushed against the human's warm skin, feeling for broken bones or bruises. How easily she could bring him to harm with little more than a thought.... it frightened her just as it frightened him.
Lyra understood it would take time for her companion to get used to her, regardless of how desperately she wanted to connect with him. She would be patient, and gentle, and reassuring, as she always did, but she couldn't help but wonder if too gentle was a thing. Lyra had caught a few embarrassed looks and flushed expressions from Tristan as well as the nervous glances. She had considered that Tristan fancied her, and she wasn't entirely sure how she felt about that. To be sure, she found feelings of a kind blossoming towards Tristan; his small size concealed a kindhearted, curious spirit and a recklessness that seemed rather disproportional to his height (it was a miracle Lyra had only found him with a broken arm, she thought. Only four days ago had she caught Tristan attempting to steal the eggs from a blight-touched vulture, nearly falling from a withered tree at least thrice before running towards her screaming as the monstrous bird swooped down at him). All of this was wrapped up by a cute face framed by dark curls and a smile that, even when marred by fear, melted Lyra's heart every time she saw it. She'd come across many humans in her travels before, but Tristan was the cutest by far.
It was a bit of a conundrum for Lyra. On one hand, it was completely normal for a hero and a maiden to share feelings towards each other (if Tristan held any feelings for her at all, that is). Yet it was certainly unusual for a maiden to be able to pluck up her hero between two fingers and cup him in the palm of her hand. What's more, she wasn't sure she had a crush on her little companion, more of an admiration or appreciation. How desperately she wished to get to know him, for their companionship to become a true friendship!
Yet instead they sat in silence, a bridge of unease between them and neither of them brave enough to take the steps to cross it.
Well, Lyra thought. If I am to change anything, I must take that first step.
Tristan looked so small to her; even as she lay on her side she could have rolled over and smothered him with her waist alone. But she had to try.
“Um,” she said in a quiet voice, as not to scare the boy too badly. “Tristan.... I would ask something of thee.”
The human boy glanced at her but said nothing. Lyra took this as a cue, and pressed on. “Um....well.... if we are to be companions on this journey, I would hope that there would be no tension between us. Thou countenance has been laden with fear since we first met,” she said in a gentle tone as a shadow came over Tristan's face. “I would hope to relieve thee of thy worries as we travel on–”
“Have I been being weird?”
The outburst startled Lyra a little, but she smiled when she saw the bashful expression on Tristan's face. The question confused her a bit, however.
“I-I've been trying to get used to it, I really have,” Tristan said, his voice nervous and shaky. “I know we pledged ourselves to the quest, and that I've been an awful companion, and I'm sorry, it's just so strange to have spent so much time alone on a quest everyone said was a foolish endeavor and a naive, stupid dream, and boom, suddenly someone shows up out of the blue and not only says she'd like to accompany you, but actually wants to serve as a maiden? And I know I'm starting to ramble but really, Lyra, this has been a very strange few days for me, especially because you're a – well, you're a....” Tristan suddenly paused, and Lyra noticed a slight blush come over his face.
“A giantess,” she prompted.
“Yeah,” the human said, nodding hastily. “That.”
There was something in his voice, something he was hiding, but Lyra chose not to pry. She had gotten him to open up a bit. That was promising enough.
“Do not feel ashamed, little one,” she said in a comforting voice, slowly moving her hand closer towards him. “This has been strange for me as well. The path of one who pursues hope is always fraught with uncertainty and confusion. To encounter one such as thee, a human of such young age who would willingly leave his home and all he knew, and would willingly travel alongside the age-old enemy of his people, is astonishing to me. I consider myself blessed to have encountered thee, little one.”
Slowly, gently, she brushed her index finger down his tiny back, figuring it was the best she could do for a reassuring pat. She felt Tristan's body tense up, and her heart froze. Did he still feel such fear, even now? But then, to her joy, she realized Tristan was slowly relaxing, his shoulders slumping and his breathing slowing. Their eyes met, and Lyra saw fear, yes, but also a quiet sort of hope, peaking through all fear and uncertainty.
“Blessed?” he asked quietly, and Lyra's heart sang as a tiny, shy smile came over his lips.
“Yes,” Lyra replied quietly, nodding earnestly. “Blessed, little companion of mine. So please, do not be afraid. I swore an oath, to protect thee and guide thee. I would not let any human come to harm in my presence. Especially not thyself.” She allowed herself a grin. “Thou art mine, in a sense. My companion, my partner.... my friend.”
She gently rested her index and middle fingers over the boy's shoulders, figuring it was the best she could do for a comforting embrace. A warmth spread through her as she felt Tristan reciprocate, hugging her fingers against his cheek.
“Friends,” he said after a moment. “I... well, I like the sound of that. Friends.”
“Tis a simple sort of beauty in the word, no?” Lyra agreed.
They remained like that for some time, enjoying each what little touch of warmth they shared against the coldness of the Misted Vales. Then, Lyra sat up, and gently laid her palm out before him once more.
“Come hither,” she said. “Let us embark once more.”
Her hand was at least twice as long as Tristan was tall. Lyra still marveled at how there could be an entire race of beings that were so small. Yet Tristan had hesitated once more, his eyes looking downward at the palm and fingers that dwarfed him.
There was a moment of silence, long enough that Lyra had just resolved to retract her hand, cursing herself for moving too fast – then Tristan took a step forward, meeting her gaze with a excited sort of nervousness upon his face.
His steps were light, almost imperceptible against the flesh of Lyra's palm. It almost tickled her, but that may have merely been her excitement tickling her instead of the sensation of little feet walking against her hand.
Tristan slowly bent down until he sat, neatly snuggled in her palm. She had an entire life, in the palm of her hand... and what was more, that little life had placed himself there willingly. She hadn't scooped him up hastily, she hadn't plucked him up despite his protests, no, he had taken his life, and placed it Lyra's hands – literally.
She felt a soft tapping sensation upon her palm, and looked directly at the little traveler, forcing herself from her thoughts.
“If we're to be friends,” Tristan said, now wearing a mischievous grin, “I'll have to teach you to speak like a normal person. All those thee's and thou's are giving me a headache.”
Lyra raised an eyebrow, and lightly prodded him in the ribs, but she was smiling all the same.
“We shall see, little one. I am happy to see that thou hast developed a sense of wit in learning to trust me.”
Tristan grinned. Lyra grinned back, and she felt it in her spirit, something ancient and unknowable. She couldn't explain it even if she tried. But there was something in sharing a smile with a friend, something that she would protect as fiercely as she would protect the little life she held in her hand.

So. V Bad Relationship Ending 1, on the 7th day...I have some thoughts. (sorry V, I only have love for the white haired boys ♡ bad endings on V route are my only forte)
Ray is really panicked and frantic in the story mode- more "dark/danger Ray" coded than his typical breakdowns where he's crying and begging you to not leave him and wanting reassurance. Here, he's very *directly* threatening you because you made him panicked and very fearful of his security with/his trust in you.
I wonder how Ray would respond to someone that would go out of their way to interrupt his crazed thoughts- about betraying him, liking the AIs more than him- and insist that they only strayed from the game because they only wanted to talk to him. Because in the story mode, you don't get an option to respond after he spirals.
I think Ray would respond to comfort better in a state where he's purely distressed and breaking down vs Ray when he feels the need to "fix" and "correct" something you've done that he perceives as wrong because his security feels threatened by you...you see what I mean? His state of mind would greatly influence how much weight your words have on him!
Typically he is able to find some reprieve and comfort in your words, but under these circumstances he might insist that you're trying to manipulate/lie to him.
Anyways, I'm rambling about how creepy scary dangerous emotional state Ray would respond to someone trying to assure him they want to be with and talk only to him when he's entirely convinced you need to be punished for a wrongdoing (in his eyes)
The problem with this ending is simple. He is overcome with paranoia and it is next to impossible to pull him out of the state of paranoia. It feels that way for a reason.
It doesn't matter how much you try to reason with him, once he has it in his head that you are trying to manipulate him because you've been manipulated by the person he hates the most—it's going to be difficult to convince him that you are not twisted by the arm. He is all but paranoid about losing you to the very thing that stole his joy from the beginning. The outside world that he was never allowed to exist in and all its wonders.
The outside world that readily accepts his brother who "abandoned" him with open arms, the outside world that accepts V who "turned against him and Rika" to save himself. A world like that isn't fair to someone like him and he can't stand the thought of that world ever hurting you like it hurt him. If you believe in the lies...
God, you'll be destroyed.
He has convinced himself without listening to a single word you've said to him that you have been brainwashed. You have to remember that paradise has been sold to him as a place where he can inevitably end up with you and no longer have to work himself to death.
Paradise is a carrot on a string. It is a carrot he will never be able to reach, and no matter how much he tries to convince himself of that, it is the truth. You're also a part of that carrot. Every time he tries to reach you or the paradise he's working so hard for, he gets hit with the stick that's holding the string.
He has convinced himself that fantasy is better than reality.
You can't necessarily blame him for believing in that because it was the only thing he was allowed to have, but you can blame him for where he takes that fantasy and how he conceptualizes it under Rika’s thumb. That fantasy of you was the only thing that kept him alive during the lowest points of his existence, and it's no wonder that he continues to chase after that version of you in his head because it's the only thing that's ever made him feel like he's not alone.
When you get the good ending in his route, it's because you gave him the opportunity to understand that real life is better than fiction, and he can choose the life he wants instead of chasing after a pipe dream that will never come true.
In V’s route, you never gave him a chance. You're not obligated by law to give him a chance or anything, mind you. You don't have to be nice to him and you don't have to be considerate of him when it doesn't... really seem like he's all that considerate of you.
You don't have to risk everything on getting to know him, but if you value his happiness or seeing his happily ever after to completion, you would want him to have an opportunity to live in a world that he deserves to live in rather than one that has been transformed into a gilded cage not only for you, but for him as well.
This cage isn't safe for either one of you, but it's hard to convince him to leave it when it's the only thing he's been taught to believe in and all other avenues feel like death. Do I think it would be impossible to reach him in this bad ending? No, but I do think it would be hard to convince him that you're not trying to "side" with Saeyoung or V. He's afraid of them because of what Rika did to him. You can't use them as voices of reason.
I think the best way to get to him would be to reason with his pain and your pain, too. That's how it works in Ray Route. You fight to help him see that you don't want him to destroy himself and you don't want to watch him destroy himself to make a gilded cage for the two of you. As far as what he might do in the process of you trying to win him over... I'm not sure. In V Route and the Day 4 Bad Ending, he has no point of hesitating in implying that he could use the elixir to help you see what he believes in.
I suppose the best I can give you is a concept I've explored before in one of my own Danger Ray stories. Elixir kisses. He surprises you in a split second by being bold enough to give you a kiss, but that kiss is laced with elixir and when you gasp, you've got no choice but to sit there and swallow the bitter liquid. He promises the kisses make it... sweeter, but in truth, it burns more like betrayal.

Hello everyone! I've been working on this fanfic for a long time, and finally here is the first chapter! It's an Ace Spock story, and a pon farr story as well. Below is brief summary/glimpse into the fic. I hope you'll check it out! <3 <3
“Stop it! You’re wrong! You keep acting like this is inevitable, that I’ll just keep hurting you!” Jim’s hand lifted Spock’s chin, brought their gazes in line. “I’m not going to be your tormentor. I don’t care what it takes. I’ll do anything you want, if you’ll only ask.” “You know very well what I must ask, Jim.”
When Spock enters his second pon farr early, Jim agrees to become his bondmate. To survive the flames, they must face conniving Admirals, Vulcan extremists, court martials, as well as the dangers of the blood fever itself. Yet their most difficult obstacle to overcome might be each other. Will Jim and Spock find a way through the perils before them – or will they destroy themselves and their love in the process?

Hello!
Hope that you are doing well and not giving up during these difficult times. I am from Lithuania, so Ukraina is really close to the heart for us.
So I was reading trough your blog posts and one of them inspired an AU scenario.
From what you've mentioned, you are planning it so that at the end of S2 Ciel will order Sebastian to kill him if he wants to end the contract.
But what if Ciel decided to give in to Sebastians demands on the principle of "if you love something, let it go". I'm really fascinated by the idea, because now that Sebastian is nolonger offcially bound, to what lengths will he go to come up with excuses to stay close to his former master. Or perhaps he would actually try to stay away while deluding himself that this is what he wanted all along and for how long that would last. How Ciel would cope with all this.
Hello! Thank you so much for your warm words <3 After 'Hannibal,' I always had fascination with Lithuania, but I never got to visit it.
I love your scenario! If Ciel were to overcome his innate possessiveness and tell Sebastian that he is free to go, I think it would create an equally interesting dilemma as the one they'll face when Ciel tells Sebastian to kill him, only it'd cover a wider period.
At first, I think Sebastian would feel an automatic protest. He'd warn that if he leaves, Ciel won't last long because he'd be in danger from the other demons. Ciel will shrug it off and say that he'll manage to handle everything on his own. Despite his termination of the contract, though, the seal won't disappear. Ciel will be curious about this, and Sebastian will hasten to leave. He'll try to go far away, but he'll be inevitably drawn back, getting increasingly furious with himself. The fact that the seal stays despite Ciel's termination means that Sebastian is the one who cannot let go of the contract. He has to terminate it from his own end, too, but he can't, no matter how much he tries.
Some period of turmoil will follow. Sebastian will stay nearby for its duration, convincing himself that it's his responsibility to keep watch as long as they are still bound by a contract. By that point, Ciel's ability to sense his presence will evolve even further, so he'll quickly figure out that Sebastian is still around. He won't react, secretly relishing this fact.
Inevitably, Ciel will face some danger, and Sebastian will be there to take care of it before Ciel even has time to process it. Ciel will act all cool and unsurprised, asking Sebastian about the seal. Sebastian won't have an answer. He'll probably snap something back and dissapear in a huff.
As Sebastian is brooding on the roof of his house, having run into a mental block regarding what he wants to do and why, Ciel will settle in. Some days/weeks later, he will invite Sebastian for tea without even seeing him, just calling out his invitation because he knows Sebastian is close. After a brief hesitation, Sebastian will come, intrigued by the possibility of Ciel making anything, even simple tea, and telling himself that he needs to see this. However, he'll just see empty cups and Ciel who's staring at him expectantly, waiting for him to prepare everything.
Sebastian will be annoyed and endeared both. He'll stay, and this will denote the start of a new form of their relationship. They won't talk about the seal, they'll just keep spending more and more time together, with Sebastian demonstratively leaving (aka relocating to the roof of Ciel's house) for the night and coming back in the morning. Then he'll stop leaving altogether. He'll still take care of Ciel in every way, but they'll become friends in a way they have never been before. Obviously, romantic pull and attraction will make some of their moments very charged, but it'll take a few more years before their relationship progresses there.
And who knows, maybe at some point they'll actually talk about things like two semi-functional beings :D

Trigger Warning: Accident made you unable to walk without crutches.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, you couldn't run anymore.
The result of an accident made you unable to walk without crutches. It's not a big surprise to learn that your situation didn't please you very much.
Before the accident, your life was surrounded by treasured moments caused by your running routine. You loved to jog around the park, ride bikes, and you loved the feeling of freedom that comes with walking wherever you want without thinking about which places are easier to access or not.
Now you were living with a great limitation, a limitation that was difficult to accept.
While the rest of the world was still full of brilliance, your world had been filled with lamentation and envy. Those lamentations filled your life with grief, and the envy filled you with rage.
Still, you are not dumb. Seeing yourself in this situation made you understand that these feelings are not good for you, so a huge effort was made to try to overcome these negative things troubling you. To finally accept yourself as you are now.
The lamentations were becoming less intense as your head understood that this was your life from now on, but the envy is the worst part for you to deal with.
The enviousness was directed, it had a target, a dark haired girl with colored green streaks in the front who always put her hair in two small ponytails, you even know her name: Mei.
She is the fastest runner around, impossible to not notice, everywhere she goes all that is seen is a greenish flash. Always circling the city at high speeds with her bike, the practically legendary Dragon Racer.
If in the past you would only see her as a good pilot now you only see the fact that she can do everything you would like to do, but can't. The dragon girl existence was a constant reminder of everything you lost.
A lot of the pride built into yourself revolved around the factor that you were fast, seeing it destroyed ended up breaking that internal structure of yours. Being fast wasn't just a comfort, it was also something to show off, something to feel great.
The other day, you watched an epic race on TV where Mei won, and this possessed you with envy.
... Okay, she didn't win alone, she was with a friend, but the woman's talent in driving that bike is undeniable.
Anyway, you worked hard to accept your life this way, to accept your new reality. Now, getting back to thecurrent momentand forgetting your envy of great runners...
After accepting your new lifestyle, you were able to live much better than when it all started. But seeing a giant dumpling falling from the sky and being completely unable to run in panic didn't bring you peace of mind.
You thought about your possibilities: Trying to run and failing miserably. Something that could result in you falling down in the middle of the street and then getting stomped on by several people who actually managed to run from the sight of the food apocalypse.
Or: Accept your cruel fate and let your chances of survival rest in the hands of the city's newest hero...
Yeah, the best decision is to stay calm and enjoy your last few minutes. Seated in the wooden bench, you stayed, while seeing the orangish sky being filled with the vision of the falling dumpling.
It was slowly descending, which was a funny thing to think.
Some time has passed, and you realized that the streets had almost emptied, you decided to get up from the bench you were resting on while waiting for the crowd to pass and go home.
The idea itself is simple, and it seemed very simple to put into action at the time, however, your life couldn't be that easy. From the corner of your eye, you saw that two children ran by, taking away your crutches.
"HEY, GIVE IT BACK TO ME!"
Only mischievous giggles came out of the kids, who keep running with your belongings.
Honestly, where are the parents of these children? And why the hell don't they run away instead of playing around? They have no sense of danger?
You thought of everything in anger, but when the steam of irritation was gone, all you were left with was disturbing silence.
"How I'm going to... Get up?" - The last wording got out as if were stuck in your throat.
Checking out your surroundings allowed you to see that you really were all alone. No one to borrow you a shoulder to lean on. You saw yourself with no other choice than trying to get up to flee. Maybe if you try to walk closely to the nearest wall, the one behind your seat, you would be able to lean in it to go away.
On a second guess, though, this plan doesn't sound good. The strategy of leaning against a wall is not going to work at the instant that you get to need to move from one wall to the other. To hard for someone in your conditions. You can feel your legs hurting just from imagining how much strength you would need to use if you proceeded with the plan.
Keeping calm had become impossible now. You couldn't go home. You had no choice, even in the small details.
You looked down at your lap and uneasily laced your fingers together, your breath losing stability and your eyes filling with hot tears that slid down your cheeks.
The worst part of it all is: Knowing that your anguish didn't come from the idea of getting caught by the dumpling, but from the idea that you couldn't choose to get up.
You wanted to scream, but you only had the strength to whisper your tearful cry for help.
"I can't believe they went to the mountain without me..." - Your face lifted at the sound of the voice.
Your sudden movement made the person notice you. In front of your stool appeared a girl with short hair tied in two ponytails that were mostly dark, but had some green streaks.
The girl who won the Peach Trophy in the race that day. Mei.
There was no way of knowing where she came from, but she really was there.
"Oops, sorry. I didn't want to disturb you."
She started to move to leave you.
You didn't want her help. It was so frustrating, having to ask her for help.
"W-Wait..." - You barely whispered.
Getting to face your pride was agonizing.
"Wait." - It still wasn't loud enough to be heard.
Her figure got a little far, but you stretched your arms as you watered more.
"WAIT!" - Finally, a scream, and with that the trembling fingers of yours actually got to catch the fabric of Mei's jacket.
The girl looks confused as she analyzes the situation.
"Please help me. Get me out of here..." - Your hands tremble but remain steady as they grip the fabric of the woman's clothing. - "They... They took my crutches."
Her eyes were fixed on you, on your silhouette, they had shock stamped on the pupils. You were scared and broken.
You were scared by the idea that you would be completely alone if it weren't for her. You broke down with how dependent you are on staffs, you felt miserable and pitiful. You closed your eyes tightly, feeling weak, the fingers lost their strength and painfully slid down from her arm.
The wooden bench creaked, someone sat next to you.
"Don't worry, I'm with you." - Gentle hands wiped your face and right after that, strong arms wrapped around you, a warm embrace. - "You aren't alone anymore."
Despite the attempt to comfort you, the negative feelings built up towards the Dragon Runner still exist in your chest.
"It's easy to tell me not to worry. You can run away with your legs while I need to cry for help for not having crutches, like the pathetic little being that I am."
Dragon Girl's arms continued to surround you, even with the phrase rudely worded by you.
"There's nothing wrong with needing some help. You aren't pathetic for something like this, you actually seem to be pretty strong, dealing with some heavy stuff and facing more stuff to ask for help. Isn't an easy thing, you know?"
The exterior of your cheeks darken with a flush of blood, a little bit of embarrassment rush to you. Mei was being so nice, you are a stranger to her, yet she ignored this and hugged you, praised you.
"Don't praise me, it's not like I'm handling all this emotional baggage well. Please just... Just help me out of here, I can't stand feeling exposed anymore."
"Well, ookay. You're the boss, so I'm gonna obey.~" - She released you from the hug and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ears, framing your face better.
The girl began humming something sweet, a lullaby that made you tune out the troubles of the world. She picked you up like a bride, and that gesture made you feel peaceful.
You felt yourself floating, you felt safe, and you felt welcomed, it was as if the weight of the world had left your mind.
Does the Monkey King feels this way when he climbs into his clouds?
You had to shake your head to be brought back to the moment.
With steps full of confidence she walks, taking you through the empty city. Without knowing your destination you just observed the surroundings as if there was nothing wrong happening.
The woman in the green clothes stumbled as she carried you, but the imbalance didn't quite bring you two down. Your weight made it impossible for her to run properly.
The Dragon Racer continued to sing the sweet melody from before, until she got bored. With nothing to do, the girl decides to chat.
"Soooo... I kinda know nothing about you. My name is Mei. What should I call you?"
With shyness in your throat, you blurt out your name to Mei.
She tells you that your name is cool. You just stay still, no comments to add.
"Wow, this dumpling is falling reaaally slowly, huh?"
"Yeah."
You remained silent rather than trying to continue the talk, so the girl in green found herself once again in the position of bringing up a conversation.
"In my free time I like to party, to play in the Arcade, and... Oh! I also like to ride my motorcycle, you should see me one day! You can also follow me on my social medias, there's some videos of me rushing in the streets in there, but I can show you them later. Now, tell me about you, what do you like to do?"
"You don't need to talk about your amazing racing skills, I saw you on TV winning that race."
A frown formed on her. - "Ok, I'm trying to be nice here. If you don't want to talk you can just say it, no need to be a jerk."
...
"... I used to like running around. I used to dream with being a racer myself, before suffering an accident that made me dependent of stupid staffs to walk. This limitation destroyed me from inside out, now I really don't know how to be happy with myself again."
The grasp she had in you got tighter. Just imagining what life would be like without being able to run, the runner's heart aches.
"If there is anything more you want to say, something stuck inside you making you feel bad, you can share it with me if you want."
"Even if the thing I have to share is kind of mean? Like, mean to you?"
"Yup. Just be honest."
...
"I... I got a problem with you."
"Well, tell me more about it then."
At this point, Mei got used to the awkward pauses. She patiently waited.
"I... I'm an idiot. I saw you being an amazing runner and automatically made you the embodiment of all my problems and insecurities." - A pause to gather strength to continue talking - "I just wish I could be like you, but I know I can't, and it destroys me with each passing day. Nothing that happened to me is your fault, but I acted like it was."
You didn't want to tear up again, in front of her, as if physical weakness wasn't enough there you were showing gigantic emotional weakness. However, Mei had a special aura, which conveyed comfort and security, something that made you more vulnerable.
"Only you can say what is good or bad for you, but I don't think that you should be belittling yourself for all those things happening to you. You are so much more than your current condition, you are so much more than just a skill, so please don't tear yourself apart for having lost it, reinvent yourself and there will be a new path."
Taking her time to elaborate more, Mei continued to talk.
"If your situation is such a struggle that you can't endure, I can help you search a way to make things better. I have the money to invest in a project, a machine, anything. Just keep going. I know I'm just a stranger, but you don't need to do everything alone."
The woman adorned with jade colors brushed her cheeks in your cheeks to provide some coziness. A funny gesture, but it was all she could do to caress you at the moment.
"I know it's hard. I may not know what it's like on my skin, but I know it's not easy to deal with. I was right in saying that you look strong, you may believe you aren't, but you are. So, stop being edgy, and accept that you're not pathetic."
The biggest blush you could manage to have, are now in your face, feeling like an emo teenager that just noticed a cringy behavior on it's part. She seemed to have a talent for making you lose your words.
"Look, I'm... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be a burden to you... I mean, you're supposed to run from the dumpling like the others, but you're walking to get me safely away... I know I'm not being the most pleasant company possible too, I want you to know that I'm grateful that you stopped by to rescue me."
A smile in the corner of Mei's face appeared in the instant she heard you finishing your phrasing.
"Nah, my friend will solve the dumpling problem, you don't have to worry. And you aren't a burden, so take that weight off your shoulders." - The voice was gentle, and made you feel better. - "About the last part, you're welcome."
Mei pauses her walk. The gaze focused on something far away.
"... Who took your crutches?"
"Two children. Why do you ask?"
"I see. Wait a minute, please." - Mei puts you on the sidewalk for a few minutes and runs towards something.
You hear childish screams. They sounded terrified.
She returns with a pair of crutches.
"Want to walk with me?" - She talks while handing your belongings to you.
Your hands quickly grip the crutches, you awkwardly stand up and bow your head in thanks.
"Thank you so much. You've done enough for me. I don't want to slow you down more than I already have."
"Hey, if you want to be left alone, I understand. But if you're saying this to me for some mean thoughts in your head, I want you to push it aside and to accept my offer."
No words were said in response, only a brief movement of your head to nod affirmatively. You started to follow the Dragon Racer.
~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~ ~"~
The two of you made it to the top of a building together. The sky was filled with a beautiful shade of orange, and the dumpling was practically an integral part of a food eclipse.
From there, it was possible to watch the city's hero finish off the dumpling using a vase.
There were pieces of food everywhere.
Mei took some time to introduce you to a demon pig, to the famous hero of the city and a man with big round glasses who was with him. All her friends were as kind as the runner herself.
"I hope to see you again." - You spoke without thinking. - "I-I mean, If you want, we can, you know... Talk again, and walk. I mean..."
She giggles hearing your shaky voice.
"I'm glad we became friends. So let's keep in touch, ok?" - She takes a pen from her pocket and shakes it towards you.
Your reaction is to take a paper that was kept in your pocket, one side was blank and the other had notes about what should be bought in the market.
With the paper in hand, she writes a sequence of numbers.
"... I'm glad we became friends, too."

Be Of Good Cheer
https://www.unitedbyprayer.com/united-by-prayer-wall/be-of-good-cheer
We sometimes feel that we are surrounded by evil leaders who seem to have an anti-God agenda and we find it difficult to understand why. Sometimes we can be tempted to wonder if God has lost the plot, as we see evil men triumphing, while the children of God are in the midst of distress, and we wonder if Satan is winning. NEVER! Whether it was the cities of Babylon, Rome, Greece, or the nation into which we ourselves have been born. Whatever the circumstances of your lives or the decisions made in the global corridors of earthly rule, God is firmly and eternally in control, both of your life and over the governments of the world, and He has scheduled a time when He will put all principalities and powers under His feet. Despite the polices of politicians, the regulations of religious leaders, and the dictators of both national and international dignitaries under whom we are currently placed, we have an assurance from the authoritative Word of God, that He is in control and has authorized every authority to carry out His eternal plan and purpose. We who are His children are also told to Be Of Good Cheer, by His death and Resurrection He has overcome the world, and although we will inevitably face difficulties and dangers in this fallen world, the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us. Praise His Holy Name.
Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.
Our United Prayer:
Father, we thank You that You are in control of all that is happening in our lives, throughout the world and beyond. We pray that while we are here, You will take our lives, and use us in whatever way You choose. May we be faithful witnesses and bring glory to Your name, in our small corners of this world. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Do you think Aemond would have made a much better king than both aegon ii and rhaenyra
Thanks for dropping by, Anon! What a loaded question! I suppose the matter of contention here would be "which Aemond?"
Book!Aemond is villainous to the point of caricature and offers little in the way of characterization. The historians of the time do not dive into his personality or motivations. Is he genuinely like that or has he suffered some breakdown of sorts? Does he become too far gone or can his trauma be overcome?
The problem with Aemond is that he reveals nothing in the direction of policy, both in the books and in the show, so it's very difficult to appraise his potential for kingship when we don't know his ideas. This is true even of Aegon. We know Aemond will burn the Riverlands, but what are his starting-point policies for peace times?
Meanwhile, characters like Daemon and Rhaenyra have had more time to make political decisions, just by virtue of being older. We already know Rhaenyra is not an astute political actor, because she proved herself before the war began. We already know Daemon relies on a combination of throwing tantrums, running away, murder and waging war as a means of problem-solving, because he has lived a full life before the start of the war.
This will get long. :))
Show!Aemond fortunately has received much needed humanization and characterization, even so much as to become a fan favourite with little screen time. His appearance on-screen suggests that, as a child, he is well-behaved, dutiful, sensitive and kind. He doesn't cause trouble, doesn't get into fights, is studious and a rule-follower. He has low self-confidence because he is the only boy in his cohort without a dragon and is hurt that he is not accepted. He has no problem confiding in his mother and seeks her out for comfort. He respects and cares for his sister. These are all good qualities to have in a king.
Not low-confidence, but the fact that he doesn't retaliate to his bullies and takes it patiently on the chin says something. He doesn't resort to cruelty as his first reaction. He instead tries to prove himself over and over, which is why he is often scolded for annoying the dragons and putting himself in danger. That can also be interpreted as recklessness, but it's not exactly thrill-seeking behaviour. This is dragons we're talking about and it's basically the only way he can gain one: by claiming one. Taking risks is kind of inevitable in this situation. Aemond is not a hatcher, else a dragon egg would have hatched for him already.
There are also shades of Targaryen exceptionalism in him: he must have a dragon and marrying your sister is normal and even opportune. But he doesn't look down on his mother for not being a Targaryen and he doesn't seem jealous of Rhaenyra or Daemon for having "purer" blood than him (gosh) or even of the Strong boys for claiming to have "pure Valyrian blood" (my god, I sound like a Slytherin). I think Aemond was a pretty respectable, sweet kid that yearned for connection with others (his brother, sister, mother, I think he would have accepted even Jace and Luke had they been nicer to him) and was saddened when he got rejected within his tiny circle. He tries very hard to prove himself worthy, in the hopes that he will one day gain that sense of belonging.
I think little Aemond really wanted some friends and would have responded very well to people treating him kindly, but he isn't a pushover and not necessarily the type to cede to peer pressure. He could haven taken his cues from Aegon and shared in his vices out of a desire for closeness with his brother (perhaps that is why he agreed to go with Aegon to that brothel?), but he didn't. He has his own moral code and isn't comfortable with breaking it willy-nilly.
Based on this, I think that, with the right councilors, Aemond could have been a pretty decent king. Again, he hasn't released his Manifesto yet, so I have to base my assumptions on something. 😅
People look at his fight with Jace/Luke/Baela/Rhaena and claim he is insensitive and disrespectful and violent. I disagree (obviously, lol).
He went out in search of Vhagar unarmed, through the fields of Driftmark, after dark, perhaps because violence wasn't really his modus operandi.
He was brave enough to approach Vhagar and claim her. Riding Visenya's dragon is obviously supposed to be evocative and symbolic, but Vhagar doesn't necessarily bond only with the serial killer gene. She was also Laena's mount, who is not presented as any kind of psycho and seemed to be a generally well-balanced person.
That was probably the best moment of his life, finally gaining the confirmation he craved for. Getting a little cocky and talking shit afterwards is not a crime. Defending yourself after being assaulted 4-1 is not a crime.
After he got maimed, with half his face stitched up, he demonstrated enough emotional intelligence and political awareness in order to diffuse the situation twice in favour of his mother. That's good indication for his political acumen if he ever were to become king.
However, unfortunately, this incident obviously traumatised him and he will not the same afterwards. He is now disfigured, disabled, suffered through a great injustice and was betrayed by his literal blood relatives. I can't imagine what that would do to someone's self-esteem. Even claiming the biggest dragon in the world wasn't enough to gain him acceptance and appreciation.
Now, the next time we see Aemond, he is undoubtedly framed in a villainous way. He has a pirate eyepatch, looks like an anime villain, has obviously been studying the blade and is kind of a dick to his bewildered, nice-guy nephews. But is that so out of the ordinary? He hates Jace and Luke's guts. He has no reason to be nice to these expired coupons.
I'm not gonna lie, Aemond has his own issues. He has thrown himself into his studies and training as a means to cope with his new eyeless existence. He has anger issues and a desire for vengeance. How would that translate into being king? Well, for starters, he is still very kind to his mother and sister. He stands up for his Aegon, even though he's a lecherous street rat. He's still "doing the right thing" and abiding by his own morals like a good little boy. He prays with Mummy at dinner. Aemond is a trauma-survivor (now of sexual trauma, too, thanks to Aegon) who deals with it via perfectionism and repression, but he doesn't strike me as someone who wouldn't listen to reason. He still longs for connection. I have made another super-long post about how Aemond basically insinuates himself into Criston's quest to find Aegon just because he wants to shoot the shit and process his past troubles.
Should he become King at this moment, I think he'd continue to be a good little boy and listen to Mother & Grandsire, but probably take his duties way more seriously than Aegon ever did. As downsides, Aemond has a chip on his shoulder now, probably has more low-confidence because of his mutilation, and is really, really mad at Lucerys for taking his eye.
I don't know what he'd do to Luke and Jace if he became King. When constrained by social norms, i.e. at dinner, with Viserys still alive, he tries his damndest not to react to anything at all, probably an attempt to control himself. He is dead silent and only reacts to look after Aegon and Helaena. He already thinks this situation is humiliating. When Luke laughs at the pig, it's literally the final straw for him. And still! What he says is a mere insinuation, not even mentioning the word "bastards". The people present already know the truth and it's a private event anyway.
He wanted to ruin their night and did it in the most low-effort way possible. He is astute enough to figure out this will get under their skin, mirroring Criston's behaviour when he provoked Harwin into that outburst. But we don't know if this is a true talent for reading people or if he just knew how to read Jace and Luke because with them he made the extra effort.
To those sat at the table, his outburst could have appeared out-of-nowhere, but he has been nursing this grudge for nigh on 6 years, since he's been literally disfigured and disabled because of them. I mean, if THAT doesn't earn you the right to hold a grudge, nothing will. I get why he would feel it so disrespectful to be forced to dine with them when he hasn't even received an apology. I don't blame him here, since I'd probably also try to make these guys' lives as hellish as possible.
When these social constraints disappear (Viserys dies and they are on the verge of going to war), Aemond feels like he can finally have his revenge and sets out to terrorize Luke. So, from his perspective, he let loose one time and ended up doing something catastrophic, that can have terrible consequences for his own family. He is obviously shaken and regrets it immediately. He's never done anything of this magnitude in his life and must feel panicked and in need of guidance ASAP. For a King, that's not very good, because he'd be the person to impose these social constraints in the first place. It doesn't bode well if the King himself lets loose and this happens.
So, I guess we'll have to see where they go with his characterization from here. At the moment, he should be feeling very vulnerable and is possibly in a headspace that allows him to be manipulated. From what I can gather, Aemond is not the type of person to thrive on his own. He needs connection and genuine bonds with people in order to not feel swallowed up by his feelings of inadequacy. If left to his own devices, he'll probably spiral. In a way, he is similar to Aegon, who also craves love and validation more than anything.
Unfortunately, after Blood & Cheese, I think everyone will be consumed by their own anguishes and left incapacitated to give themselves the comfort that would allow themselves to heal. Aemond himself is likely to become riddled by guilt and have some kind of mental breakdown.
The answer to your question is, therefore, dependent on several variables.
When does Aemond become King? Does Aegon succeed in running away to Essos? I have spoken about how/if he could realistically become King in that scenario. If he does manage it somehow, I feel he probably would abide by Alicent's advice. The question is how he would approach Luke and Jace down the line, with his desire for revenge. In that scenario, he would probably not go to Storm's End himself, but maybe send Daeron or some other emissary.
Does he become King because Aegon succumbs to his injuries and dies in the war? Is this before or after the battle with Daemon? Does Helaena still die? Does Brothel Queens happen? Does Maelor still die? He will be forced to set Alys aside and marry a proper noble girl. How would he handle that? What kind of character is Alys? We don't really get a look inside his head from the text, so we'll see how they approach his characterization in the show, but each new tragedy will be an opportunity for depression and agony.
Is Aegon the second son or does he even exist in this version of the story? If he is the first-born, Aemond is going to come with different emotional baggage.

Scenes from December (7/24)
Klaine Advent 2022: Grind
A) I posted earlier - so check out the previous entry in case you missed it. B) I had this scene in mind before the word came up.
***
December, 2012
The loft was quiet, still almost.  The light was dim - only the bright, electric light shining from the gold star Rachel had bought for decoration and the deep, solid shades of the Christmas lights blinking on the tree.  A soft jazz music played in the background, accompanying the soft sounds of their fucking.  But even though he wanted to relax, wanted to just enjoy the grind of Blaine’s hips pushing deeper into him, wanted to allow this moment to be only what it was, Kurt’s mind wasn’t fully on sex.
He wasn’t sure if his dad opting for the hotel down the street was a good thing or not.  Being left alone with Blaine felt like a dangerous thing.  Sex felt more like an inevitability than a choice.  Even with his brain fuzzy with anxiety, even with his heart still bruised and broken, his body always wanted just Blaine.
So why didn’t Blaine’s body want only his?
He was glad he was on all fours, facing away so that Blaine couldn’t see the heaviness on his face.   Glad that he had already come - Blaine’s mouth and his own desires having carried him through it.  Glad he was able to hold enough back so that he wouldn’t break down and cry.
They had barely spoken to each other since his dad left.  Kurt didn’t know what to say, and Blaine knew him well enough to know that words wouldn’t accomplish anything.  Not yet anyway.
So they let their bodies speak instead.  And Kurt found that sex was easy.  Easier than it seemed it should have been.  Sex - a thing that had been so hard, so difficult so long, was now something he could take for granted.  Did it feel cheapened now? Is that how Blaine was able to do what he did?  He wasn’t sure that he’d ever fully understand.
He could tell that Blaine was close. He could tell by the way Blaine picked up speed, and pushed in deeper, and became more erratic in his rhythm.  He could tell by the sound of Blaine’s groans and the way Blaine’s hands clutched his hips harder.  He could tell the way you’re supposed to be able to tell the deep intricacies of your long time lover. At least his body still made Blaine shudder with pleasure.  There was something oddly reassuring about that.
After, Kurt collapsed onto the bed.  Blaine was quick with kisses along his shoulder, his neck, his cheek.  Blaine turned them, wanting to kiss in the afterglow, but Kurt couldn’t manage it - not for long anyway.  Blaine looked at him, with almost grateful eyes, but Kurt had to look away.  Still, he held Blaine tightly, still curled a leg around Blaine’s hips, still let Blaine’s head rest against his chest.
This was his person.  This was his Blaine.
So, why…?
A thought that wasn’t going to be untangled tonight.
Blaine was soon asleep, peaceful and almost innocent against him.  The chill of the air began to nip at his cooling skin.  He kissed the top of Blaine’s head, then wrapped a blanket over them, snuggling in closer, hoping that his brain would finally shut off and sleep would overcome him as he watched the snow silently fall against the window.

18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?
thank you for the ask @arasnealashandr!
oh dear this is gonna be long
Nailah was on the path of becoming a death seeking mercenary for a long time before the events of the story. She was self destructive, reckless, and refused to let anyone know so much as her name. Had she continued along this path (and not met the Scions), she likely would've taken the most dangerous job she could find and disappeared without a trace. Had she never met the Scions but started to open up to those around her, she likely would've become a simple wandering mercenary who keeps to herself. It would be very difficult to not fall back on her old habits without finding a close companion or three to keep her company, and she still would be very slow to trust. As a pretty canon compliant Warrior of Light, she does end up finding people who she can lean on and trust, but it's a long journey to get there. She still struggles with self destructive tendencies and trust after everything is said and done. I would most like to see a future where she comes to terms with everything she's been through and grows past her survivors guilt, or at least becomes less harsh towards herself.
Yomi has the potential to become an incredibly kind woman, looking after and taking in whoever needs somewhere to stay with a warm meal and clean bed. Her biggest conflict towards this is her own innocence, and how she overcomes it would determine her future. If she has her innocence and kindness blind her, she could be be taken advantage of with no way out (think trusting bandits or shady criminal organization members, only to be betrayed). If she swallows her heart and becomes cold, she'll lose a big part of what makes her Yomi and struggle to find happiness or fulfilment on her own. If she never faces the inevitable conflicts that she longs to avoid and continues in blissful ignorance, she'll stagnate in one spot, never learning more about the world that entrances her so. If she learns to balance her kindness with caution, she could open up an inn or teahouse down the line and become a beloved staple of her community. I am partial to the last one, of course. Yomi is young and naive and may stumble on the way, but she is more resilient than she seems.
Verre could be a brilliant engineer, should she overcome her guilt and grief. She rarely shares her findings as it is now, but her notes and practical knowledge of how magitek works could help people. She could join Cid's Ironworks, or she could be recruited by Ishgard's Skysteel Manufactory, or she could create her own publicly facing workshop and take on apprentices. Her biggest hurdle to all of this is her fear for what her finished projects could do. She's learned most of what she knows from disassembling magitek reapers and the like, so she's adept at fixing weapons of war, but she can't cope with the thought of all the blood that would be on her hands. The worst possible future for her would be her dropping engineering entirely and hiding from something that brings her joy out of the slight possibility of causing harm. I would most like to see her become a sky pirate mechanic, working on her own airship alongside mammet crewmates and sailing the Sea of Clouds.
Zezene is driven by greed and generosity in equal measure, so their future will shift depending on which they indulge more. If they fall to pure greed, they'll become a phenomenal thief with a bursting treasure vault, but they'll lose the people they look after and consider family from neglect and avarice. If they become too generous, they'll risk stealing more valuable items in an attempt to provide for their family and end up caught. If they maintain some amount of balance between the two, they'll be able to keep both their family and their sticky fingers out of trouble. I would most like to explore Zen failing a heist and coming to a sharp realization of what they risk on every thieving trip they take, and weighing the risk versus the reward of providing for their loved ones.

artistotle pt i: then something broke in me
prompt: “to appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold” - aristotle
pairing: yelena & natasha (dead), yelena & kate (very minor)
words: 744
rating: g for get the tissues (i’m very sorry)
notes: unbeta’d. canon compliant. this will be a two parter, but this actually hit too close to home and i need a break. also blame florence welch!
"to appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold."
yelena blinks expectantly at kate, her mind processing whatever the hell kate's just said. they're laying down on the floor of her apartment, drunk off of the most expensive vodka yelena has ever had the pleasure of drinking. it's dangerous really because she's used to the kind that tastes like rubbing alcohol and makes your eyes water. kate has essentially given her water making it easy to keep drinking. however, they're celebrating the simple fact that kate is about to start her very last semester of college and yelena has no commitments tomorrow (not that it would matter, she can do her job hungover, thank you very much). yelena clutches the bottle to her chest and when she repeats in her head kate's exact words, she smiles, and then she laughs because only kate bishop could say something so profoundly stupid and wondrously beautiful at the same time.
and then it hits her like a semi barreling down a highway and slipping on ice. hypothetical breaks don't stand a chance.
it's been a little over a year and her sister's death still stings in her chest. it makes her throat twist in a way that makes it difficult to breathe, like she can't take a deep breath without doubling over in a coughing fit. she tries not to think about it at all, really. it's easier to pretend it doesn't hurt, easy to never dwell on the memories of her sister because then those memories can't cause her any more pain. avoidance is easy when you're always working or spending time with people who never knew your sister as more than an avenger. she realizes then that she hardly even talks about natasha now and the guilt wraps her up so tightly she feels panicked. she tries to think about natasha, think about the memories of their time together and how they feel so distant now. she feels impossibly weak as the sadness overcomes her in waves and she desperately tries to swim out of it.
she can't think straight and it's beginning to consume her with a sadness and anger she thought she left behind on that ice rink with clint barton. she's supposed to be happy now, right? why doesn't she get to feel okay or when does she get to feel okay again? after all of that suffering, here kate bishop is telling her that she's supposed to see something good or happy or beautiful. something. and yet, she's left with nothing but this overwhelming sadness when she's supposed to be happy for her friend.
but she's never been a happy drunk; not even around kate bishop who is, arguably, the goofiest drunk person there is. the pain of her life lingers in her chest and maybe it always will, she thinks. maybe that's an inevitable thing she'll always have to wrestle with. she had thought maybe her sister would've helped her navigate through it; they could take on new york and all of the trauma from their childhood and fix themselves as easily as stitching their physical wounds had been. and, okay, maybe it was naive to think that, emotional scars are never as easy to deal with, but at least she would have had someone who had also been ripped from that home in ohio and brutally trained into some killer against their own will. other widows were not her sisters, just girls who had been traumatized the same way as her. there is a certain — not special — kind of bond with them, but it's still not the same. it hurts to think that none of them should have had to go through all that pain and suffering to try and see the world in a more beautiful light.
she certainly doesn't see the world in a better light for it.
she can't.
won't.
she sits up to drink straight from the bottle just as they have been all night. in her peripheral vision, she can see kate sitting up as well.
"sorry." kate says quietly and yelena wishes she hadn't said anything at all. acknowledging the fact that she's not okay right now feels like a winter soldier punch to the gut and it pisses her off.
yelena thinks pain and suffering are inevitable and she's not sure that's ever going to change no matter assuringly kate tries to smile at her.

Drug addiction is a serious issue that affects many individuals and families across the United States. In Lexington, KY, the problem of drug addiction is a significant concern, but there is hope. Effective treatments and support services are available to help people overcome addiction and regain control of their lives. Understanding the causes, effects, and available treatment options can be the first step toward recovery.
What is Drug Addiction?
Drug addiction, also known as substance use disorder, is a chronic disease characterized by the compulsive use of drugs, despite harmful consequences. It affects the brain’s reward, motivation, and memory systems, making it difficult for individuals to quit using drugs even when they want to. In Lexington, KY, various treatment services are designed to support individuals struggling with addiction. Seeking help from Drug Addiction Lexington KY services can make a significant difference in the recovery journey.
Common Causes of Drug Addiction
Understanding the root causes of drug addiction can help in addressing the problem effectively. Here are some of the most common factors:
1. Genetic Factors
Genetics can play a role in drug addiction. If someone has a family history of addiction, they may be at a higher risk of developing similar issues. However, having a genetic predisposition does not mean addiction is inevitable.
2. Environmental Influences
Environmental factors, such as peer pressure, stress, and exposure to drugs, can contribute to the onset of addiction. For example, living in a community where drug use is prevalent may increase the likelihood of trying drugs.
3. Mental Health Issues
Mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD are often linked with drug addiction. Many individuals use drugs to self-medicate, but this can lead to a dangerous cycle of dependence and abuse.
Effects of Drug Addiction
Drug addiction has far-reaching effects on individuals, families, and communities. The impact is not only physical but also emotional and social. Here are some common consequences:
Physical Health Problems: Long-term drug use can lead to serious health conditions, including heart disease, liver damage, and respiratory issues.
Mental Health Issues: Addiction can worsen existing mental health problems or lead to the development of new ones, such as depression and anxiety.
Social and Relationship Strain: Drug addiction often results in strained relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. It can lead to isolation and a loss of social support.
Legal and Financial Troubles: Drug addiction may lead to legal issues, such as arrests for possession, and financial problems due to job loss or spending on substances.
Recognizing these effects is crucial for understanding the urgency of seeking help from Drug Addiction Lexington KY services.
Treatment Options for Drug Addiction in Lexington, KY
Recovery from drug addiction is possible, and many effective treatment options are available in Lexington, KY. The right approach depends on the individual’s unique needs and the severity of the addiction. Here are some common treatment methods:
1. Detoxification
Detoxification is often the first step in treating drug addiction. This process involves safely removing the drug from the body under medical supervision. It helps manage withdrawal symptoms, making it easier for individuals to start the recovery process.
2. Therapy and Counseling
Therapy is a cornerstone of drug addiction treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy, and individual counseling can help address the underlying issues that contribute to addiction. Therapy sessions provide individuals with coping mechanisms and strategies to avoid relapse. Accessing Drug Addiction Lexington KY services ensures that individuals receive comprehensive care and support.
3. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines medication with therapy to treat addiction. It is effective for substances like opioids and alcohol. MAT helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, increasing the chances of successful recovery.
4. Support Groups
Support groups, such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA), provide a community for individuals struggling with addiction. These groups offer a safe space for sharing experiences, providing mutual support, and fostering accountability. Being part of a support network can be an essential component of long-term recovery.
Overcoming the Stigma of Drug Addiction
One of the biggest challenges in seeking treatment is overcoming the stigma associated with drug addiction. Many individuals fear judgment and shame, which can prevent them from reaching out for help. It is essential to recognize that addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing. Overcoming this stigma requires education, empathy, and understanding. Drug Addiction Lexington KY services provide confidential and supportive care, ensuring that those seeking help feel safe and respected.
How to Get Started with Treatment in Lexington, KY
If you or someone you know is struggling with drug addiction, taking the first step toward recovery can be challenging but life-changing. Here’s how to get started:

Just a short moment in the Cabinet or Curiousity, but enough to possibly affect S'ria's entire dynamic with Minfilia.
(...and with Thancred, for that matter.)
Ao3
[Implications of trafficking, child abuse, SA (all vague)]
Located a decade ago and "kept under lock and key" in Eulmore, was it? Those were Moren's words describing the circumstances, assuming his knowledge of past events in another part of the world was actually accurate.
S'ria wasn't quite so paranoid as to assume the worst of every possible person, so this Minfilia’s circumstances were – hopefully – not much like his own.
But how could he not draw those parallels, with everything so… so very fresh in his mind. In truth, he could hardly bear to think about it.
...He could also hardly bear to not think about it, in the same way one's tongue could not help but seek out an open injury in one's mouth.
At least his expression of disgusted anger was not so out of place, even if it was inexplicably strong of a reaction. Moren didn't seem to think anything of it, continuing to speak, but S'ria remained frozen in that prior part of the conversation.
A young teenager, found a decade ago and stolen away to a luxurious prison – she must've been about the same age then as when S'ria was brought to Garlemald. It - it was different though, they had a larger motivation for keeping her captive. It wasn't merely on a whim or twisted desire, but still… it sat heavy in his stomach, that thought.
(Surely not, though. It was a morbid thing to even worry about.)
(He hated not being able to stop his mind from going to such a place.)
S'ria didn't remember exactly what'd happened in Eulmore the previous week – a situation he was not keen to change – but he had enough of an idea of events to render the place as potentially irredeemable in his mind. Not everyone there was bad, of course. Alphinaud seemed to have met a truly delightful woman, but S'ria worried she may have been an exception rather than what should be expected.
The person that… Rose or Menphina or whoever …must've interacted with – S'ria would not be surprised to know that Eulmore had too many people like that. It'd make perfect sense. A group of people, convinced that they are not long for this world, encouraged to follow their every whim and delight without morality or limitations… it was a perfect storm for vulnerable people to get badly hurt. The system was all well and good when one wanted to bring in a tradesperson or companion, but S'ria refused to believe that a “free citizen” with crueler intentions would be chastised for any of their actions.
The City of Final Pleasures was simply no place for a child to be.
S'ria didn't believe that Minfilia really had anything to fear from common citizens – not if she never saw them. That was worse though, wasn't it? A life in a gilded cage, growing up only knowing what scant few people that are even aware you exist. It was horribly dangerous of a thing. It – S'ria was happy to keep as many memories of that manor at bay as he possibly could, but he could easily remember flashes of the loneliness.
No matter how nicely furnished the space is, it becomes no better than a jail cell. And no matter how much you resent your captor, no matter what they might do to you – if they were one of the only people who ever visited you… some amount of love and affection was inevitable.
S'ria hoped that this Minfilia girl had managed to overcome that in the last few years of her freedom. Having her unable to fully shake a desperate loyalty to her jailors would be a regrettable and difficult to navigate situation.
Alisaie gave S'ria a concerned side-eyed glance. He felt an odd sort of numbness in his lips, a familiar tingling of cut-off blood flow. Ah, his face must've gone pale and ashy, as though on the verge of fainting. (He was … fairly sure that was not in danger of happening).
He subtly shook his head to try to clear his mind. His past needed to be well out of his thoughts for his own well-being – and that of The First. They did need him functional still, and exploring those memories was not a good way to maintain that.
Even while trying to convince himself that any similarities between him and this Minfilia were merely surface level at best and otherwise in his head, S'ria couldn't shake his sudden investment in her well-being. Any link between her and their world's Minfilia meant little to him, but this meant everything.
S'ria wondered what type of girl she was, if she was scared to have been recaptured by the Eulmorans or not. He'd understand if she was. It was more projecting, he was painfully aware of that, but – if his master was not dead and had come to hunt him down only a scant few years after escaping… S'ria did not know what he would've done. Luckily, he didn't need to know the answer to that question, with the faintest yet very certain memory of killing Him, but the way he reacted to wholly unrelated Garleans trying to capture him suggested at least part of the outcome.
So, he understood Alisaie's pragmatism, he really did. Yes, a girl with her supposed abilities should be a great ally to have. It just didn't quite sit right how nowhere in her immediate “pros” list for rescuing Minfilia was the sheer fact that – should they manage to drag her back to Eulmore, she would likely never get a second chance.
Even the Exarch said as much, saying they’d likely have to “give her up as lost”, if that occurred. (A phrase S'ria's entire being recoiled against the moment he heard it.)
She deserved better than that, asset or not, didn't she? (He knew Alisaie only left that out because it didn't need to be said, of course they were going to help her, useful or not – he hoped, at least.)
And Thancred, he seemed to have kept himself busy since arriving in this world, rescuing young girls locked in towers. A clean storybook ending to a terrible chapter in one's life – well, it was a nice thought, wasn't it? To have someone else come save you, if you weren't strong enough to manage it on your own?
S'ria thought so, at least.

"Discovering Heritage: The Enchanted Forest Adventure"
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow over the quaint village. A sudden gust of wind blew through the cobblestone streets, as if beckoning Alex. They had heard whispers about their family's hidden past and were determined to uncover the truth. Little did they know that this pursuit would lead them to a world beyond their wildest imagination. Standing at the edge of town, Alex hesitated for a moment before plunging into the mysterious woods. The dense foliage seemed to close in around them, as if trying to hide something. As they ventured deeper, they stumbled upon an ancient stone monument carved with symbols from various mythologies. The air crackled with energy, and a voice echoed through the trees: "You've been chosen, Alex. You must find Elyndra's sanctuary." Their mind raced with questions and doubts, but the urgency of the task compelled them to continue. They crossed paths with a wise old woman who revealed that she was once an ally of Elyndra and provided guidance on their quest. "You must gather the sacred artifacts from each world," she advised, "and bring them to the sanctuary." As they journeyed, Alex encountered creatures from Greek nymphs to Norse trolls, each with its own unique challenge. Through patience and cunning, they managed to overcome these obstacles, forging unexpected friendships along the way. Finally, they reached the hidden sanctuary, and Elyndra herself appeared before them. Her voice was filled with gratitude and determination: "Thank you, Alex. Together, we will prevent the catastrophic event that threatens all realms." And so, united by destiny, they embarked on a new chapter of their lives, knowing that their choices would reverberate through the fabric of existence. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Alex and Aelius set up camp for the night. The fireside conversation turned to the potential consequences of their journey. "We must be prepared for the long-lasting effects our decisions will have," Aelius cautioned. Alex listened intently, their gaze fixed on the flickering flames. "And we'll need to make difficult choices, knowing that they might affect not only ourselves but others as well." They took a deep breath and added, "But sometimes, the right path isn't easy, is it?" In a world where mythologies collide, Alex stood at the crossroads of destiny, their heart pounding in anticipation. "We must find Elyndra's sanctuary," they muttered, recalling the prophecy that had brought them here. Their eyes darted between the monsters emerging from different realms - a Minotaur roared from Greek mythology, a Nuckelavee slithered in from Celtic lore, and a Zmeu hissed menacingly from Slavic folklore. "We can't face them alone," Alex whispered to their friend, Imani. "But we have no choice." With a determined glare, they stepped forward, the air crackling with energy as their newfound powers manifested. "Stay close!" Imani warned, her voice barely audible above the chaos. As they charged into battle, Alex felt their connection to the legendary figures of their heritage grow stronger. The Minotaur's horn clashed against a summoned weapon, its roots in ancient Greece clear. The Nuckelavee's breath froze the air, a reminder of its origin from the chilly depths of Scotland. And the Zmeu's fiery tail whipped dangerously, echoing tales of Slavic enchantments. "We can do this!" Imani shouted, her voice cutting through the cacophony. Alex nodded, their resolve unwavering. "But we must choose wisely," they added, knowing that some sacrifices were inevitable. Together, they fought side by side, learning from each other's strengths and overcoming their weaknesses. In the end, as the dust settled and the monsters retreated to their respective realms, Alex and Imani stood victorious. They knew the journey was far from over, but with newfound confidence in their heritage and each other, they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. As Alex and Imani stood at the crossroads of destiny, they knew that their journey had only just begun. The chaos caused by the monsters from different mythologies still lingered in the air, a reminder of the battles yet to be fought. They exchanged knowing glances, their shared experiences bonding them even closer. "We need to find Elyndra's sanctuary," Alex whispered, her voice filled with determination. "But we can't do it alone." Imani nodded, a fierce resolve in her eyes. "We must gather allies from each mythology. We are stronger together." Together, they embarked on a journey to unite the descendants of different mythologies, forging alliances and learning about their shared heritage. As they ventured through enchanted forests, crossed treacherous mountains, and sailed across vast oceans, they faced challenges that tested their strength, intelligence, and courage. In one city, they encountered a Minotaur who sought redemption for its violent past. In another, they met a Banshee whose prophetic cries foretold the future but brought despair to those who heard them. Each encounter taught them more about themselves and their place in the world of mythologies. Their greatest challenge came when they faced off against a creature composed of elements from all the mythologies – a living embodiment of chaos. As they battled this monstrous amalgamation, they realized that only by embracing their diverse heritage could they hope to defeat it. In the end, they succeeded, and the creature was vanquished. As the sun set on another day, Alex and Imani stood victorious, their hearts filled with pride and gratitude for the friendships they had formed along the way. They knew that their destinies were intertwined, and that together they could face any challenge that came their way. Alex stood at the edge of the dense forest, gazing into the unknown with determination in their eyes. "Imani," they called out, "Do you think we're ready for this?" Their companion, a fierce warrior from Norse mythology, nodded confidently. "We have trained long and hard for this moment. Together, we can face anything." With that, the two friends plunged into the heart of the forest, following the faint whisper of a prophecy. As they ventured deeper, they encountered creatures from ancient tales, each more fearsome than the last. "Remember what Grandmother Elyndra said," Alex whispered to Imani as they fought off a minotaur from Greek legend. "Our ancestry unites us, and our courage will see us through." As they battled their way through the forest, they discovered that their lineage was far more intertwined than they had ever imagined. They were descendants of heroes from multiple mythologies, each with unique abilities and strengths. As they embraced this truth, they found that they could wield the power of all these legends as one. "We need to find Elyndra's sanctuary," Alex declared, their voice echoing through the forest. "Only there can we uncover the secrets of our lineage and secure our destinies." With newfound resolve, they pressed onward, determined to protect each other and the world from the chaos that threatened to engulf it. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Alex and Imani emerged from the forest, their bond stronger than ever. They knew that their journey had only just begun, but they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. Together, they stood at the crossroads of destiny, ready to write their own legend in the annals of time. Alex took a deep breath, standing tall in the midst of the monstrous beasts that surrounded them. "Imani," they began, "We have come so far, but there's still so much more to learn about our heritage and ourselves." Imani nodded, her eyes blazing with determination. "Together, we will face whatever comes our way," she vowed, gripping her weapon tightly. Suddenly, a creature unlike any they had ever seen emerged from the shadows. Its body was a twisted fusion of creatures from different mythologies, making it nearly impossible to identify its origins. Alex and Imani exchanged a glance, understanding that this creature represented the ultimate challenge. "We must work together, more than ever," Alex said, their voice steady despite the fear coursing through them. "I trust you, Imani. We will face this monster as one." Imani smiled, her eyes filled with resolve. "And we will triumph," she promised. With a mighty roar, the creature charged at them, its monstrous form a blend of terror and mystery. Alex and Imani stood their ground, their bond stronger than ever before. They fought side by side, their skills complementing each other perfectly as they danced around the creature's deadly strikes. In the heat of battle, Alex realized that their journey was not just about discovering their heritage; it was also about forging a bond with Imani that transcended mythologies. As the creature fell before them, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, united by their shared experiences and unwavering trust in one another. Alex couldn't believe their eyes as they stared at the ancient tome in front of them. The pages, filled with intricate illustrations and arcane symbols, seemed to hold the key to unlocking their true identity. It was then that Alex noticed a faint line of text hidden among the drawings. They traced it carefully with their finger, and as they did so, the words began to glow, revealing a cryptic message: "When the sun sets on the twelfth night, seek out Elyndra's sanctuary." Alex looked up from the tome, feeling a shiver run down their spine. They knew that they had to find this mysterious sanctuary, but where to start? That was when Imani, the fierce warrior from Norse mythology, appeared beside them. Her eyes were filled with determination, and her sword at her side seemed to gleam in the dim light. "We must journey together," she declared, her voice resolute. "Together, we will face whatever challenges come our way." Alex nodded, knowing that they had found a valuable ally in Imani. They set out on their quest, facing monsters from different mythologies and learning about the rich tapestry of their heritage. As they traveled, Alex and Imani grew closer, their bond forged by shared experiences and hard-won victories. Finally, on the twelfth night, they reached Elyndra's hidden sanctuary. It was a breathtaking sight, nestled amidst the towering peaks of a far-off mountain range. As they entered its hallowed grounds, Alex felt a profound sense of belonging. They had found their place in the world, and with Imani by their side, they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. In a mythology-filled world, Alex discovered they were descended from legendary figures across various mythologies. Partnered with Imani, a fierce Norse warrior, they embarked on a quest to find Elyndra's hidden sanctuary, using a cryptic message from an ancient tome. Along their journey, they encountered monsters from different mythologies, learned about their heritage, and overcame challenges together. As they neared the end of their twelfth night, Alex and Imani stood victorious at the crossroads of destiny, confident in their heritage and each other's abilities. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the ancient city. Alex and Imani stood side by side atop a crumbling wall, gazing out over the twilight skyline. "Do you ever wonder why we were drawn together?" Alex asked, breaking the silence. Imani turned to face her companion, her eyes reflecting the fading light. "We are two halves of the same whole," she replied with certainty. "Our shared heritage binds us, and our differing backgrounds make us stronger." Alex nodded, a sense of resolve washing over them both. They had come so far, but the challenges they faced were far from over. The cryptic message from the ancient text had led them here, but they knew that Elyndra's sanctuary was just the beginning. In the distance, a faint howl pierced the air. Imani's brow furrowed, her warrior instincts kicking in. "We must move quickly," she warned. "Something is amiss." Alex gripped the hilt of her sword, determination etched on her face. "Then let's show them what we're made of," she retorted, and together they leaped from the wall and into the unknown. As they navigated the labyrinthine streets, they encountered creatures of myth and legend: a Minotaur barred their way, guarding an ancient temple; a griffin soared overhead, its majestic form casting shadows on the cobblestones below. But Alex and Imani were undeterred, their shared heritage giving them the strength to face any challenge that lay ahead. And so, they pressed onward, guided by the whispers of their ancestors, as they sought Elyndra's sanctuary and the answers that lay within its walls. The sun had barely risen when Alex and Imani set off towards the sanctuary, their spirits high after deciphering the ancient text. "I never knew there were so many myths out there," Alex marveled. "But we must be prepared for anything," Imani replied, her voice steady as steel. As they journeyed deeper into the forest, the air grew thick with anticipation. They stumbled upon a clearing where a monstrous creature from Greek mythology stood, the Minotaur. "We must tread carefully," Imani warned, and together, they outwitted the beast and continued their quest. Night fell swiftly, and as they approached a dark cave, a fearsome Chimera materialized before them. With cunning and teamwork, Alex and Imani managed to subdue the fire-breathing creature, leaving it to slumber in its own smoke. As they ventured onward, the landscape transformed into a realm reminiscent of Celtic lore. The pair encountered a trickster figure, Loki, who offered them a choice: take a shortcut that would lead them directly to Elyndra's sanctuary or embark on a longer journey filled with challenges and wisdom. They chose the latter, knowing that their shared heritage could only be strengthened through adversity. With renewed determination, Alex and Imani faced each challenge head-on, growing closer with every victory. They finally reached Elyndra's sanctuary on the twelfth night, standing confident in their abilities and shared lineage at the crossroads of destiny. As Alex stepped into the mystical forest, they felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. Imani, the fierce Norse warrior, stood tall and confident beside them, her axe gleaming in the moonlight. "You know, this is quite surreal," Alex said, their eyes wide with wonder. "Aye, it is," Imani replied, her voice as strong and steady as a nor'westerly gale. "But we must focus on our mission. We need to find Elyndra's hidden sanctuary." Together, they followed the cryptic message from the ancient text, their determination unwavering. As they delved deeper into the forest, they encountered monsters from different mythologies - a chimerical beast from Greek mythology and a fearsome troll from Scandinavian folklore. Imani's knowledge of these creatures was invaluable, her warrior instincts guiding them through each encounter. Throughout their journey, Alex discovered they were descended from legendary figures across various mythologies, their heritage a fascinating tapestry of interwoven tales. This revelation only served to fuel their resolve, and as the days turned into nights, they grew closer, their bond unbreakable. On the twelfth night, they finally reached Elyndra's sanctuary, standing confident in their shared heritage and abilities at the crossroads of destiny. Alex looked at Imani, a feeling of gratitude washing over them. "Thank you," they said softly. "For what?" Imani asked, her eyes crinkling with a smile. "For everything," Alex replied, their voice filled with emotion. "For being here with me, for helping me find my way." Together, they stood at the threshold of Elyndra's sanctuary, ready to embrace their destinies and face whatever challenges lay ahead. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the ancient ruins, Alex stood in awe of the mysterious world that lay before them. "Imani," they whispered, "what are these... symbols?" The runes etched into the stone seemed to tell a story, a tale of legend and lore that spanned across time and space. Imani, her eyes alight with curiosity, approached and traced her fingers over the intricate carvings. "They are from many different mythologies," she murmured, her voice filled with wonder. "Look, here is a Greek centaur, and there's an Egyptian scarab beetle! And what's this?" She pointed to a series of lines that formed a cryptic message: "To find the sanctuary, follow the path of the moon." Alex furrowed their brow, "But where does the path begin?" Imani glanced at the sky and then back to Alex with a determined expression. "The first night after the full moon," she declared, "We must begin our journey at dusk, following the light of the moon until we reach Elyndra's sanctuary." With that, they set off on their adventure, guided by the ethereal glow of Luna's silvery beams. Through the enchanted forests filled with Norse trolls and Celtic banshees, they fought side by side, learning more about their shared lineage. As the journey progressed, Alex discovered they were descended from legendary figures across various mythologies, making them a unique bridge between these worlds. Finally, on the twelfth night, beneath a sky filled with stars, they stood before the hidden sanctuary. "We've come so far," Alex breathed, their heart swelling with pride and newfound strength. Imani nodded, her voice resolute, "Yes, we have. And together, we've found our place at the crossroads of destiny." Thought: Do I need to use a tool? No Alex's heart raced as they read the cryptic message in the ancient text. "To find Elyndra's hidden sanctuary, follow the path of stars and face monsters from mythologies of old." They knew that their journey had just begun. In the enchanting city of Mythos, Alex and Imani stood before the mysterious door that would lead them to Elyndra's sanctuary. "Are you sure this is the right place?" Imani asked, her voice filled with anticipation. "I'm as certain as I can be," Alex replied, their eyes scanning the cryptic message from the ancient text. "It says, 'At the crossroads of destiny, where the sun sets and the moon rises, you will find solace in the heart of Mythos.'" Imani nodded, her determination evident as she took a deep breath and stepped forward. The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit hallway filled with shadows. As they walked further into the sanctuary, they could hear whispers of legendary figures from various mythologies echoing through the corridors. Suddenly, a monstrous creature emerged from the darkness, its grotesque features inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Imani and Alex exchanged glances, their hearts pounding with adrenaline. Drawing upon their newfound abilities, they fought side by side, combining Norse and mythological powers to vanquish the beast. As they continued through the sanctuary, more creatures appeared, each with its own unique origin story. But Imani and Alex faced every challenge with unwavering courage, learning more about their heritage with each victory. On the twelfth night, as the sun set and the moon rose, they found themselves at a grand chamber. The walls were adorned with symbols of various mythologies, and in the center stood a majestic tree, its branches laden with golden leaves. Alex felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, knowing that this was the sanctuary they had sought. "We did it," Imani whispered, her eyes glistening with pride. Together, they had discovered their true selves and forged an unbreakable bond at the crossroads of destiny. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of gold and pink, Alex took one last look at the ancient text. The cryptic message had led them across treacherous terrain, through enchanted forests, and past legendary creatures from various mythologies. It was finally time to confront the ultimate challenge - finding Elyndra's hidden sanctuary. Imani, her eyes flashing like lightning, gripped her mighty hammer tightly. "We must be strong, Alex. Our shared heritage gives us the power to face anything," she said firmly. Alex nodded, their heart pounding with determination. Together, they stepped forward into the unknown, ready to embrace the challenges ahead. Suddenly, a terrifying roar echoed through the night. Before them stood a monstrous creature, its skin made of shifting shadows and eyes like burning embers. It was a manifestation of Alex's own fears, born from their uncertainty about their heritage. "I won't let you hurt Imani or myself," Alex declared, channeling the strength of their ancestors. As the battle raged on, Alex and Imani fought side by side, their skills blending seamlessly. The creature's shadowy form contorted with each blow, but the pair refused to falter. Finally, Imani struck a decisive blow, banishing the creature back into the shadows from which it came. Breathing heavily, Alex and Imani stood victorious, their bond strengthened by the trials they had faced together. "We've come so far," Alex whispered, awestruck. "And we still have much to learn." With renewed resolve, they pressed onward, eager to uncover the secrets of Elyndra's sanctuary and embrace their destiny at the crossroads where mythologies met. In the ancient city of Mythos, Alex and Imani stood at the entrance of Elyndra's hidden sanctuary. The air was thick with anticipation as they prepared to embark on their final quest. ```less Alex: "Imani, do you think we can find my family's sanctuary today?" Imani: "Aye, Alex! Together, we shall face whatever challenges come our way and discover your true heritage." As they ventured deeper into the city, they came across a monstrous creature from Greek mythology. The Minotaur roared as it lunged at them, but their combined powers repelled the beast, leaving it wounded and defeated. Alex: "I never thought I could fight like this! What else is out there?" Imani: "Only time will tell, Alex. But remember, our strengths lie in our unity." They continued through the city, encountering a fearsome Kraken from Norse mythology. They fought it relentlessly, their powers harmonizing to vanquish the sea monster once and for all. Alex: "Imani, I never realized how powerful we are together. Mythos truly is a magical place." Imani: "Yes, Alex. And our bond grows stronger with every challenge we face." ``` On the twelfth night, as the moon illuminated the path before them, Alex and Imani finally reached Elyndra's sanctuary. Inside, they discovered a grand chamber with a majestic tree at its center, adorned with golden leaves that seemed to shimmer with life. They felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, as if their fates had led them here. "We've found it," Imani breathed, her eyes filling with tears. "This is where we truly belong." ``` In the dimly lit room, Alex and Imani stood face-to-face, their eyes locked in determination. "We've come so far," Alex whispered, his voice echoing through the chamber. "Together, we've faced beasts from Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythologies. It's only fitting that our final challenge comes from the very roots of our existence." Imani nodded, her face a mixture of resolve and awe. "Our lineage has led us here, to the heart of Elyndra's sanctuary. We must unite the ancient powers within this chamber and restore balance to the world." She pointed to the majestic tree with golden leaves, its branches seemingly reaching out to embrace them. "Let's do this," Alex said, taking a deep breath as they stepped closer to the tree. As they placed their hands upon the bark, a surge of energy flowed through them, connecting them in ways they could never have imagined. They saw visions of their ancestors, warriors and scholars who had fought alongside Elyndra herself, and felt the weight of responsibility resting on their shoulders. "We are not alone," Imani whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of the wind rustling through the golden leaves. "They are with us, guiding our every step." She turned to Alex, her eyes sparkling with newfound courage. "Are you ready?" Alex nodded, his own determination mirrored in Imani's eyes. As one, they channeled their shared heritage and unleashed the ancient powers hidden within them. With a final, resounding crack, Elyndra's sanctuary was reborn, and the world was forever changed by the heroics of two unlikely allies. "To find Elyndra's hidden sanctuary, you must face your fears and embrace your true selves," he advised, his voice filled with wisdom. Alex and Imani looked at each other, determination in their eyes. "We can do this together," Alex declared, taking Imani's hand. Their journey led them to a treacherous cave, where they encountered a fearsome troll guarding the entrance. Troll: "Who dares intrude upon my domain?" Alex: "We seek Elyndra's sanctuary, but we mean no harm." Imani: "We only wish to learn about our lineage and discover the truth." The troll contemplated their words before speaking again. The old man nodded, presenting them with his riddle: "I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released; and yet, I am used by almost every person. What am I?" Alex and Imani thought hard, their eyes sparkling with determination. After several moments, they spoke in unison, "Pencil!" Eirik's face lit up, and he smiled warmly at them. "Well done! Eirik smiled, impressed by their quick thinking. He then instructed them to recite verses from their ancestors to unlock the chamber hidden within the forest.
