Its taken me me way too long to get to this and I am sorry but here it is now because its 4am and I have writing energy.

Usually whumpee stayed out of sight while their captor was with friends as to not be a "bothersome mutt" as Whumper would yell, but they hurried into the living room where wine had been spilled in the middle of the floor.

"Someone forgot wash the cloths last night,"

"So be a dear and clean it up yourself would you?"

Whumpee's face grew hot as they knelt down to 'clean up the drink while whumper's friends laughed and conspicuously spilt more to keep them going.

They went to sit up to stretch, only for a moment when of them smashed their heel into whumpee's hand. "Honestly whumper, I'm surprised at you. It doesn't really need those things does it?"

"I suppose that's true, come here whumpee."

They hesitated but slowly came forward and stuck their hand out, "Theres a good pup!" Whumper teased before grabbing each finger, pulling, twisting, and smacking 'em with the near by stone coaster until one by one from pinkie to thumb they were all broken.

"You can go back to cleaning now pup,"

The time Helmut's body spent in the freezing water has got to have impacted his nervous system right? Like, can he even feel anything now?

Did it just completely fuck up his sense of touch? And how would that impact him considering his synesthesia and how connected it is to his psychic powers?

fun fact one of the very first headcanons I dreamt up about Helmut's time in the ice was that he lost feeling in his fingers & toes, since blood in the body leaves your outer limbs when the internal organs/center of mass needs the most heat to stay alive in cold weather.

i even drew old art about it where I can imagine his mental landscape and Dr Touch especially have big trouble with the development. its why I try to draw post-game Helmut either with blue hands or just wearing gloves - the gloves because hes sort of embarrassed/ashamed/upset over the fact his hands got messed up like that

how it effects his synesthesia is something I have trouble imagining bc in my head I'd always connected the pairs of band members to being like which synesthetic connections he has. so like tasty and sniffles, makes sense, the taste and smell wires get crossed. but touch and sound... ??? even in my little brief stint of research abt synesthesia i dont know if theres any types that relate to touch! if anyone with synesthesia knows more abt that you can reply !!

also, for the sake of not completely fucking him over, I think Helmut would retain feeling most other parts of his body, so he can feel a hug and a kiss on the face. It's just gonna take time and work to live w/his new disabilities
