That was a nice response to that anon about Spencer and Trina giving that person sibling vibes. I’m with you, not sure how that’s possible when they been touching and kissing all on each other, giving eye sex every time they are in the same room and Spencer grinding all in between Trina’s legs on the HS but okay, to each their own 😬. It’s just funny to me how people continue to throw these things out there to try and discredit these types of relationship. Dealt with these same comments in other fandoms featuring WM/BW IR relationships. The siblings comment or the no chemistry comments are usually their go to that they use quite often, so original 🙄. Like I said to each their own, they gonna feel how they feel. I will say the fact that the anon came to your blog to say that tells me all I need to know

It honestly made me laugh. This is far from my first fandom rodeo so I try not to fall for bait the way I used to when I was younger. And it was funny because I was just talking to @burned-lariat how we're not really big on engaging in bait like that.

I was a big Iris West/Westallen girl when The Flash first came out. And I remember feeling like I had to push back against every stupid critique against Iris or the Iris and Barry relationship. And that was one of them, that they were "incest" and "more like siblings".

I probably would have responded to that anon differently if I was 17 still, but it's one of those critiques that's not really worth it lol. Trina and Spencer have been written and played so overtly romantic through every step of their story that you have to work really hard to view them aromantically, much less say they have "sibling" chem.

Now, maybe that's really how that anon sees them, but it's so disconnected from my take on the show that I'm not sure what I could offer them other than the response I gave.

The Flash 9x01

Well this one was actually doing very well until the end, when they started hitting us with a lot of nonsense that has the potential to ruin the show again (like they did not do enough of that in the last two seasons already!).

I mean, it had its ups and downs (they just redated the last season again, why should Iris sell her company and work for someone else and why is that seen as a good thing by everyone but her?) and again they just remade a plot they already had (and “Cause and XS” was the clearly superoir Time-Loop Episode), but they did finally acknowledge that the Westallen-Marriage is in trouble and gave them extensive couple theraphy in an unconventonal form, which yes alwasy has been a high point of the show - using the Comic Book Setting do deal with actual psychological issues.

And they finally gave us Team Westallen back (only took them three seasons to). Yes, we want them together as partners, please!

But then they went and had to ruin it with:

* Joe wanting to move away out of nowhere. I fear we might get a Cisco all over again, but it would be worse if it’s Joe, especially given that Dani is contracted as a main character for this season and Cecile just got new powers so, do we have to expect Jocile to split up and who gets Jenna (probably Joe cause he is leaving, so they don’t have to show her, and this would make Cecile look back because she prefers superheroing over taking care of her own kid!). And if she leaves because he does, it’s Kamilla all over again - actress losing her job and character of the show because a male person decided to move on. I mean, I know they have to come up with some reason for Joe to not be around, but frankly given his amound of screen time in  the last two seasons and the lenght of this one: We would not notice if he would just not be on screen for 8 or 9 episodes in a row. Ir’s not like he was interacting much with other characters in Season 7 or 8 - he could just sit Jenna at home.

* And then of course the elephant in the room. The fear was there, but I really - really - hope that they did not introduce this new character in order to be rid of Caitlin forever. Because last year I was pissed but gave them a pass, because if they can’t have Danielle play two character in sepreate bodies, okay, I get why they would want to keep Caitlin rather than Frost around. But if Frost’s death now lead to Caitlin commiting suicide in an ill-faited attemp to bring her sister back and we now have lost both of them and Danielle spends all season playing a brand new character instead and we never get Caitlin back ... well I have no words for what I would feel then, so ... No, I am not pleased. And if this is merge-character - meaning the personality of the two were merged as originally planed at the end of Season 3 ... sorry, that is not something you do in your shorter final season and would still mean that Caitlin as well as Frost are gone for good. Nope, literally no one wanted that, we wanted Caitlin to get powers from this storyline, not get a new main character for the last bunch of episodes! (Also what is that hair supposed to be?)

So lets hope those two storylines are not going where it seems they are going.

I've just become obsessed with this couple (Just recently found this show) I was wondering do you know if there's any fanfiction staring these two?

Sorry it took me two months to answer this question. I haven’t been checking this blog regularly since I unfortunately don’t have any new videos to post. As far as I know there isn’t any fanfic about these two. There isn’t even a category for USA High on any fanfic sites that I can think of. I was thinking of writing a USA High fanfic centered around Winnie and Christian myself and posting it on this site, but I honestly didn’t think anyone would be interested. But to anyone still interested in this blog if you would like to read or write fanfic for Christian and Winnie (Chrinnie) let me know. My inbox is open.

Vou listar os plots embaixo e clique aqui para ir ao formulário pegar seu plot. Não há nenhum limite de escrita então não se preocupem quanto a isso! Resolvi postar no meu pessoal também, já tinha postado na minha galeria @karmabutterflyedits​ porque eu decidi separar os plots normais com os plots de interativas. Plot 1 - Minhas Aventuras no Acampamento Meio-Sangue

Sinopse:

“A diretora malvada da escola acaba se revelando uma fúria mais malvada ainda,e a professora de história nos ajuda a escapar de uma morte lenta e dolorosa em conjunto. E claro, não posso me esquecer da parte em que descobri que meu melhor amigo é um sátiro, somos arrastados até um acampamento no meio do nada, e finalmente fazem o favor de nos informar que somos filhos de antigos deuses gregos. E foi exatamente assim que minha vida se tornou uma completa bagunça.“

Essa fanfic era uma fanfic originalmente da categoria Percy Jackson. Você pode fazer para Percy Jackson, Divergente, Jogos Vorazes ou um mundo fictício criado por você mesmo… Sinta-se à vontade para mudar o universo da fanfic, acho que seria legal manter o título (só a parte do "Minhas Aventuras”), mas pode mudar se quiser. Recomendado para longfics.

Plot 2 - Karma Since Birth (Carma desde o Nascimento):

Sinopse:

“Personagem A poderia até ser uma garota normal,mas ela é a filha do Presidente. A personagem A sempre viveu cercada de seguranças a sua vida toda e quando passa na faculdade ela se cansa e pede pro seu pai pelo menos diminuir o número e assim o faz. Lá ela faz até uma nova amizade com Personagem C ,uma garota ruiva da sua classe. O que ela não esperava era se apaixonar por Personagem B. O que a garota não sabe é que ele é um segurança do seu pai disfarçado de aluno. Mas será que o amor vai falar mais alto?“

Essa fanfic era uma fic original. Ela era baseada em filmes como "Diário de Uma Princesa, "Tudo que uma Garota Quer”. “Ela É Demais”, etc. Esse plot serve para fanfics mais românticas, bem “sessão da tarde” mesmo. Você pode mudar que nem fazer a Personagem A ser filha de um rei e ele um plebeu caso goste de romances medievais. Ou vice-versa. Fique à vontade para mudar o título. Recomendado para longfics.

Plot 3 - In A Flash (Em um Flash):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A, uma semideusa filha de "qualquer deus grego (não obrigatório), viaja para Central City com seus pais no período de férias. Ela se sente deslocada, mas logo acaba fazendo amizade com a personagem B e "qualquer super herói”.

Além de vários encontrões com “super herói”, personagem A vai se apaixonar por “nome verdadeiro do super herói (ex: Clark Kent)”, mesmo não sabendo que ele é o “nome do herói” (ex: Superman).

Essa fanfic era uma fanfic na categoria Flash que fazia crossover com Percy Jackson. Você pode continuar com o crossover ou não, fica a seu critério. Essa fanfic é recomendada pra categoria de super heróis como o próprio Flash, Aquaman, Batman, etc. Ou um universo alternativo. Pode ser usado para casais canônicos de série que nem WestAllen, Selina e Bruce, etc. Fique à vontade para mudar o título.

Plot 4 - Falling Again (INDISPONÍVEL):

Sinopse:

“2 anos que Tris morreu, Tobias não consegue ainda superar a morte dela. Christina e Zeke tentam ajudá-lo. Personagem A, ou apenas "apelido da personagem A”, está correndo de pessoas poderosas que querem matá-la por ela ser divergente. Sua família toda foi morta por não ter falado a verdade e só sobrou ela. “Apelido da personagem A” tromba com Tobias e os amigos. Ela foge com eles. Tobias no começo não gosta dela, mas depois desenvolve sentimentos por ela. Será que finalmente ele vai esquecer Tris?“.

Essa fanfic era baseada em Divergente. Era Tobias x OC. Pode ser usada em outras fanfics no estilo Divergente tipo Maze Runner, Jogos Vorazes ou outro mundo fictício. Fique à vontade para mudar o título.

Plot 5 - I See You (Eu Vejo Você):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A era uma garota normal até descobrir,junto com suas amigas Personagem B e Personagem C,que são semideusas. 3 anos após essa descoberta,ela se tornou líder do Acampamento Meio-Sangue e conselheira-chefe do chalé 11. Um dia ela e Annabeth encontraram um menino desacordado na floresta e o levaram para Casa Grande. Após descobrir que seu nome era Caleb ele disse que seu mundo corria perigo. A fanfic era um crossover entre Divergente e Percy Jackson. Era Caleb x OC. Pode continuar com o crossover ou ser um casal do mesmo fandom. Também recomendado para fanfics no estilo Divergente ou Percy Jackson tipo Maze Runner, Jogos Vorazes ou outro mundo fictício (podendo ser de sua criação). Fique à vontade para mudar o título.

Plot 6 - Little Liars (Pequenas Mentirosas):

Sinopse:

Essa fanfic era da categoria Pretty Little Liars. 4 personagens principais. Pode continuar com a Aria, Spencer, Hanna e Emily se vocês quiserem. Podem ser originais. É recomendada para fanfics de PLL, Scream ou qualquer categoria de suspense ou terror. Pode ser usado para fics originais com essa temática. Pode mudar o título, mas manter a categoria suspense e terror.

Plot 7 - Our Love Story (Nossa História de Amor):

Plot 8 - Weird People (Pessoas Estranhas):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A e Personagem B são melhores amigas inseparáveis, um dia a nerd Personagem C pede a ajuda das duas para um mudança completa para o baile, pois um jogador a convidou. Personagem B e seus sentimentos ficam mais aflorados em relação a Personagem C e Personagem A começa a ver seu vizinho e melhor amigo nerd com outros olhos.”

A ideia da fanfic era mostrar o último ano do ensino médio focando em 3 melhores amigas, no baile de formatura, a saída da adolescência para o jovem adulto, etc.

Nessa fanfic tinha uma personagem lésbica que é apaixonada pela amiga nerd desde sempre, mas sempre teve esse sentimento como secreto, pois nunca tinha contado pra ela. Recomendado para fics colegial como dito antes. Pode alterar o título.

Plot 9 - Evanesce:

Sinopse:

“Miyeon tem uma paixão por Yesung, porém os dois são que nem gato e rato: um dia são amigos, no outro dia estão pegando no pé um do outro; Minnie e Heechul namoraram por 4 anos e do amor apenas o ódio restou e ela não suporta ele até hoje; Taeyeon e Leeteuk já tiveram um affair também, mas a distância os separou, isso não significa que eles pararam de pensar um no outro; Dara e Donghae são amigos há muito tempo, mas será que isso vai se tornar algo há mais?; a tensão sexual de Hana e Eunhyuk você pode cortar com uma faca; Tiffany e Siwon também já se conheciam, porém nunca sentiram algo tão forte assim antes; Seohyun e Kyuhyun namoram antes dele entrar pro exército, porém ninguém sabe desse namoro exceto os membros de cada banda; Yeri e Ryeowook há anos tem crush um no outro e todo mundo sabe disso, mas Yeri tem medo de relacionamentos; e Hyoyeon está de casamento marcado, porém está tendo dúvidas sobre se casar. Como é muito personagem então deixei a sinopse original mesmo kkkkkkkkkkkkkk Essa fanfic era baseada em alguns casais Super Generation e era da categoria do SUJU e personagens originais. Serve para fanfics de kpop (principalmente com grupos com vários membros), com foco em relacionamentos, tinha outros assuntos polêmicos que nem relacionamento no kpop e sassaengs, etc. Pode mudar o título.

Plot 10 - Jurassic Dragons:

Sinopse:

“Personagem A sempre foi apaixonada por dragões e hoje em dia é bastante reconhecida por ser uma treinadora de dragões. Quando Personagem A vai viajar para (país de sua escolha) ela encontra Personagem B, e os dois têm uma conexão na hora.Só que ele tem uma tarefa: resgatá-la das garras do (insira o nome de algum vilão/monstro).“

Essa fic era uma trilogia dos filmes Jurassic World, eu decidi apagar por conta do necroso do Pratt. Essa fific pode ainda ser do mundo Jurassic Park, histórias sobrenaturais, monstros, etc. Pode mudar o título.

Plot 11 - Final Warning (Último Aviso):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A namora Personagem B, quando descobre que ele mentiu por dois anos sobre isso,ela descobre que ele é casado. Sua esposa também descobre a traição e as duas se juntam para se vingarem do canalha. Personagem A só não contava em se apaixonar por Personagem C, o irmão da esposa de Personagem B.”

Essa fanfic era inspirada no filme Mulheres Ao Ataque, mas ele é mais co-drama do que comédia, diferente do filme. Manter o título.

Plot 12 - You Calling My Name (Você Chamando Meu Nome):

Sinopse:

“Quando o ator /idol/modelo/etc viaja para seu país natal, qualquer país, a um evento beneficente, ele acabava se encontrando com o astro do kpop B, da banda de sua preferência. Eles se tornam cada vez mais próximos e rapidamente se tornam amigos. Mas os sentimentos são confusos e sempre costuma pregar peças. Será que é mesmo só uma amizade?”.

Essa fanfic era com o Ludi Lin e o Jackson Wang, recomendada para fanfics yaoi e yuri. Pode mudar o título.

Plot 13 - A Special Case (Um Caso Especial):

Sinopse:

“Personagem A é a dançarina de um cabaré muito famoso chamado *nome que quiser*, mas um dia uma de suas colegas é brutalmente assassinada.A equipa da BAU viajá até L.A. para investigar essa morte.O dr Spencer Reid se interessa pela encantadora e linda dançarina.”

Essa era uma fanfic com o personagem Spencer Reid de Criminal Minds, por isso recomendo ser de alguma série ou fanfic original de investigação ou criminal. Manter título.

Plot 14 - Crazy Stupid Love (Louco e Estúpido Amor):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A, mais conhecida como *apelido da personagem A*, é uma líder de torcida da faculdade Yale — ou outra de sua preferência — e que sonha em tirar o posto das meninas mais velhas,que são campeãs da escola. Dois garotos do futebol disputam o coração da garota: Personagem B e Personagem C. Personagem C já é apaixonado por ela,só não contava que Personagem B também se apaixonaria por ela. Em meio a esse conflito *apelido da personagem A* tenta ajudar, junto com suas amigas *nome das duas amigas*, na festa mais famosa da faculdade. E quem sabe se apaixonar por um dos meninos…“

Fanfic mais adolescente onde se passa na faculdade com triângulo amoroso e tudo mais. O clichê que conhecemos kkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Pode mudar o título.

Plot 15 - Secret Love Song (Canção de Amor Secreta):

Sinopse:

"Personagem A foi escalada para o papel da doce *nome da personagem* em *qualquer filme, dorama, MV, etc. Personagem A se da bem logo de cara com seu par romântico, *idol/ator/modelo, etc de sua preferência. Os dois ficam próximos,mas existe algo no caminho: a esposa de *par romântico*, *nome real ou inventado da esposa*. Será que os dois irão adiante com seus sentimentos?

Porque não posso dizer que estou apaixonada? Eu quero gritar do telhado”

Fific antes do Sam Claflin que você pode usar pra qualquer famoso ou personagem original que é um famoso. Baseada na música Secret Love Song do Little Mix. Pode mudar da esposa pra algo tipo eles são idols ou outra coisa no caminho deles. Manter título.

Plot 16 - Midnight Horror Memories:

Sinopse:

“Londres. Capital de Inglaterra e Reino Unido e que mantinha uma das maiores faculdades do mundo: a Universidade de Londres. Com isso todo ano a mesma recebia novos rostos com o sonho de brilhar no seu futuro emprego. E não é diferente para Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall e Zayn. Cada um com seu sonho. Até que descobrem algo poderoso e maligno dentro da faculdade que pode mudar suas vidas para sempre….”

Fanfiction antes com o One Direction baseada na série japonesa da Netflix Alice in Borderland. Todos os meninos tinham super poderes, tipo Darwin’s Game, um anime que também está na Netflix. Vou fazer uma fific apenas com minha personagem original de AIB, solo ou com algum par, ainda não sei. Mas fique a vontade para pegar o plot. Pode mudar o título.

Plot 17 - Suddenly 23 (De Repente 23):

Sinopse:

Personagem A é uma garota (o) de 12 anos que sonha em ser cantora que mora em Londres. Ela (e) é apaixonada (o) pelo seu melhor amigo, *nome do melhor amigo*. Seus outros dois melhores amigos, *nomes dos amigos*, fazem de tudo para ela se declarar para ele. No seu aniversário ela ganha um sapato de boneca da sua mãe (ou qualquer outro objeto ou coisa do tipo). O que ela não sabia é que esse sapato é mágico e pode mudar sua vida. No dia seguinte Personagem A acorda com 23 anos e descobre que é uma cantora famosa. Ela vai atrás de *apelido do melhor amigo*, mas tem uma surpresa: ele está noivo. Com ajuda de *nomes dos melhores amigos*, Persoangem A tem que correr atrás para que esse casamento não aconteça.“

Fanfiction originalmente baseada em De Repente 30. Seria legal manter o enredo e o título, só trocando para a idade que você preferir.

Stay: Westallen Fic

This is supposed to take place during their “argument” scene in 1x21 when Barry and Iris confront each other about truth and honesty. I’m totally re-doing it lol I always loved that scene for the passion and angst, but felt like it could have gone down differently with more feelings shared.

He couldn't let her go. Not like this.

"Iris, wait!"

His heart in his throat, on his sleeves, he chased after her.

She was waiting by the elevator, her back to him. He slowed his steps, his eyes trained on her back, willing her to look at him.

"Iris," he said softly. "I'm sorry, I am going to do everything in my power to make this right."

She whirled around then. "'Make it right'? How do you think you can make it right?" She holds her hand up. "You know what? No. I don't want to hear what you have to say. You had every opportunity this past year to tell me the truth, but you didn't."

"Iris, I know," he pleaded, "I know I messed up but if I could just explain — "

"Oh no need. See, I may have not known what was going on with you, but I did know that something wasn't right. And I do know you, Barry. You did it to protect me, right? You wanted to keep me out of harm's way and my dad encouraged that part of you and asked to make sure it was kept from me. I'm not sure how Eddie found out, but I bet he was asked to keep it from me too. That about right?"

Barry wilted, tiredly rubbing his eyes. Of course she knew him so well. In that moment though, he felt comforted and sick at the thought. She knew his reasons and it wasn’t enough for her.

Stammering, he tried to find the words to repair this. "I…y-yes, that's a — "

But she cut him off once again, on a roll as she stepped closer.

"What I don't understand though is how you could do this to me." She looked at him with wet eyes, everything rushing over her. "I stood by you since we were kids, Barry. I was the one to reassure you that you weren't crazy even as my own father believed that you were. I promised you and myself that we would find the truth. Someway, somehow. I was right alongside you everyday, chasing the truth, finding whatever crumb I could to make you happy. And then when I had a shred of anything that could prove you right, to absolve your father, get some semblance of a life back for you…you dismissed me."

Barry stood in stunned silence, feeling the burn in his eyes. She was right. She had stood by him, she was his lightning rod that broke through the storm and lit the way for him. She was always there even before his mother's death. It was how he was able to fall so easily and hopelessly in love with her.

He felt like his insides were convulsing at that thought, at the realization of just how much he hurt her.

Her eyes sparkled with unshed tears and she swallowed past a lump in her throat. He watched her take in a shaky breath as though steeling herself to say the next words.

"You know, ever since you told me how you felt about me, I have not been the same. I haven't stopped thinking about you and possibilities and it's been wreaking havoc on me, but now? Now I’m questioning it because, this isn't love, Barry."

His head shot up at that, eyes wide as his heart thumped painfully against his chest. Had she said anything else, it wouldn't have cut as deep as these words.

"Love is about trust, honesty, faith. None of which you had for me. You weren't honest with me and you didn't have faith in me. You took away my right to choose what was best for me, you didn’t believe in me and that isn't — "

"No!" It was his turn to interrupt. He couldn't keep hearing this, he couldn't let herself believe this misconception. He stepped toward her desperately, eyes wide in panic and fear. "Iris, I screwed up, I know and I am so, so sorry for hurting you, for betraying you. But I need to explain. I know you know the 'why,' but I need you to understand where I'm coming from."

He implored her with his shining eyes and Iris was always weak to them. She could see his heart breaking in front of her and her own responded, feeling sharp pangs. Because Iris made it her mission to bring lightness and happiness into Barry's life ever since he came to live with her. It wasn't a conscious thought, it never was, but somewhere deep inside her, she knew she needed to see him happy. And it was infuriating that in this moment, when she had every right to be angry with him, she could feel that ire give way to her need to hold him.

But she kept her distance and softened her look instead. He took another tentative step toward her, the space in between them drawing smaller.

"Iris, I have lost so much, and you were the one thing I couldn't bear to lose. It's why I didn't tell you I loved you sooner and it's why I didn't tell you that I was the Flash." He looked at her intensely, his green eyes burning bright upon hers. He didn't waver for a moment as he spoke with conviction.

"Iris, I am a man in love with you, but I am also a desperate and terrified man. Those things can exist at once. So yes, I lied to you, but it wasn't out of love for you, it was out of sheer desperation and terror. Terror over the thought of losing you, over something happening to you because of me. So please, Iris, please. You can hate me, you can be mad at me, you can accuse me of anything, but please, don’t tell me I don't love you because I do. Iris, I love you more than anything."

A tear fell from his eye and Iris wanted to run to him but at the same time, his words, spoken with such ardor, left her breathless. She wanted to bask in its overwhelming warmth and glow.

"I know it as sure as I know anything in my life. You're the love of my life. And if I lose you because of this, I will regret it for the rest of my life."

Iris let out a sob, looking at the broken face of her best friend. This was her person, the very same she vowed to stand by for the rest of their lives.  And in that moment, the anger washed away and she wanted nothing more than to bury herself in him, his familiar embrace. 

She closed the gap between them with shaky legs and did just that. She found herself in his ready arms, holding her tight as his body quivered against her. She felt his gasp against her ear as his heart raced against her own. He sniffled as he whispered promising words of honesty and keeping her with him no matter what. 

As Iris let herself drown in him, she vaguely thought of Eddie and how things had just gotten very, very complicated. Nothing would be the same from this moment on and she knew she had to be just as honest as she asked of Barry. The time would come, but for now, she would just stay right there in his arms.

It’s crossover time! The Flash/Barry Allen makes a visit to the future with TWO Iris Wests to meet up with Future Bruce Wayne,Future Clark Kent Sr., and Future Clark Kent Jr(CJ) to find out if /how Future Original TL Barry Allen/Flash can be saved.

A/N:You have to read chapter 9 of Save Me II in order to get both sides of this chapter..both stories are having a mini /several chapter arc/crossover.

There are certain of WA scenes that get a lot of attention with good reason from the LR scene fr 4x15 to the erased first kiss scene 1x15 but there are some underrated WA scenes such as the scene 2x19 when B was talking abt how Ir was the first person he saved when he first got his powers. I love that scene. Do you have any WA scenes that you bel is underrated? If so, what are your top 3 underrated WA scenes & what did you like about them?

So many, nonnie! So many! This is such a hard question, but a really fun one; thank you for asking me! (And although it didn’t make my top 3 favorite underrated moments, I too really love that scene in 2x19. “The only two people in the world.”) 💜

Perhaps rather predictably, my favorite underrated Westallen scene in the club scene in 2x16, “Trajectory,” not least because it holds the special place in my heart as the moment when Westallen became my most important and certainly biggest OTP ever. I just love this moment, because it’s Barry and Iris without the turmoil of the belief of unrequited love and other relationships and secret identities. They’re both relaxed, they’re both single, and they both know they have married doppelgängers on Earth-2. There’s that fun best friends energy that permeates throughout their interactions in this scene: the moment Iris and Wally arrive, Barry and Iris sort of go off on their own, leaving the rest of the group. Plus, Barry and Iris give each other that knowing look and mirror one another’s reactions when Jesse and Wally interact for the first time, and when Jesse goes off to “powder her watch.” It’s easy, and one of the many reasons that I love this is scene is the fact that we get a glimpse into just how easy and in sync Barry and Iris’s rhythm is together. Iris says to Barry, “If we ever do get married, promise me you won’t do that dance at our wedding,” and he comes back with, “I can promise you that,” but then adorably fumbles a little, “The dance I mean, not the wedding.” She shrugs it off with a grin, but there’s something about her disposition that becomes a little serious, a little wistful and he’s all, “What?” Iris wonders in a nonchalant way, but full of that same wistfulness, how they’re married in the future and on Earth-2 (she frames her sentiment as conversational now, but she leaves her next sentence hanging, a sentence which she later finishes in 2x20, “Maybe we are meant to be together”). But what follows highlights how easy-breezy this moment is for Barry and Iris, neither missing a beat, even though things take a turn for the flirtatious. Barry’s whole demeanor changes, his eyes darken, his voice more raspy, when he asks her, “I wonder what our married doppelgängers are doing right now?” and Iris flirts back, “Probably Earth-2′s version of Netflix and Chill.” Barry smoothly replies, “Sounds nice,” but he wouldn’t be Barry if he didn’t quickly, rather endearingly clarify, “For them, I mean.” The scene is just... I don’t know... it’s so easy and light, and it showcases how in sync they are and how easily they flirt with each other, while hinting at what’s to come for them in the coming episodes, and there’s just so much UST in this scene... really makes you wonder what would have happened had they not been interrupted by Trajectory.

I really love the final loft scene in 4x01, and I think it’s underrated, because that episode had so much lightning rod goodness that I think it’s easy (certainly has been in my case) to get wrapped up in all the Westallen scenes that come before their final scene in this episode. But Iris is still grappling with how difficult these past six months have been, and Barry doesn’t probe her with words when he sees her makeshift bed on the couch or the turned over photos, but he gives her a soft, questioning look, and she expresses, on the verge of tears, how it’s been really hard these past few months. And her voice is quavering, and he immediately just takes her arms in her hands, caressing her arms slowly, reminding her that he’s here now. She tells him that she tried her best these six months to stay strong, and I think you can really see how broken she’s been and how incredibly painful her last six months have been (Candice fantastically portrays all of Iris’s emotions in these moments), and Barry reassures Iris softly, that he’s so proud of her and how she kept everybody together. And then he tells her that all he can see is them and their future together and that that future is going to be great. I love these soft, sweet, romantic moments between Barry and Iris after the storm, if you will, because there’s these deep sense of calm; this sense of, “I’m home again,” and this scene beautifully captures that sentiment.

The final loft scene in 3x23. I this this scene counts as underrated, right? Anyways, I adore this scene so, very much. It’s one of my favorite Westallen scenes of all time, because it stunningly captures how Barry and Iris are best friends in love in a way that I’m not sure any other scene captures (which is obviously saying a lot). They both can finally breathe, (or at least for a few minutes before the speedforce starts erupting, but they don’t know that yet) and they’re both reflective of how they finally have their future together again. They can finally plan their wedding! They’re smiling and laughing with each other, and Iris adorably sings a line of “Running Home to You,” which only elicits a bigger chuckle from Barry who figures that they’ve got the song for their wedding lined up. And Iris remembers the Save the Date cards, which Barry immediately runs off to deliver, and this is so cute, because Iris is all, “I spent a lot of money on stamps,” and Barry shrugs, and it’s just so peak teasing best friends, while also containing this strong undercurrent of fully realized romantic love. Barry then pulls out the ring from his pocket and asks Iris if she’s ready to be Iris West-Allen, to which she responds, “I’ve always been Iris West-Allen. I’ve always been yours.” It’s such a beautiful statement, encompassing how they are it for each other, and how their very souls have been entwined since the moment they met as children. And then their about to kiss, but of course are interrupted (the only downside to an otherwise absolutely perfect scene lol). I just adore this scene so much, honestly.

When it boils down to it, Iris really doesn't love Barry for any reason. The man is constantly going to the moon and back for her and she remains a selfish child as she was since season one. What a sad, pathetic character. She really needs to be off this show. Written off, killed off, just take her off my favorite show. Westallen is a sham.

Did you see the comic con interview the weekend and what did you make of Tom saying what he did about romance and if barry and iris do not make it and why did grant react the way he did?

Oh good lord. Thats a whole can of worms that we cannot fully get in to, but you know its typical G drama. He is overly *protective* of Westallen and I know that Tom loves teasing him (and C) about it every S/DCC. Of course, we will never know the full reason why G seems to love the marriage between B*rry and Ir*s so much, but you know our messy, needy boy ;)

Someting always bothered about the BW/WM ships. When I was in the TVD fandom, I see a lot of black women really involve in Bamon. I never understand this ship. They have a very creepy chemistry. They think Bamon was important bc it's an interracial ship and it's hard to find a male main character in love with a BW (back in time). They thought Bonnie could have more agency and screentime if Bamon happened. I don't think Bamon would save Bonnie's plot and I was accused of internalized racism

Yeah who cares if interracial relationships are hard to find (they’re not)? If people //have// to see IRs with Black women and white men then they’re the ones with internalized racism they need to figure out. I find that the people that cry about [valid] criticisms of Bamon and/or Westallen (these people have the same argument for both characters it’s ridiculous) and try to accuse any dissenters of internalized antiblackness/misogynoir just projecting their own internalized antiblackness issues. Why does Bonnie need Damon to have more agency? That kind of mindset is literally what misogynoir means. Women don’t need male characters to give them agency. It should exist by virtue of that character existing. Black characters don’t need white characters to “give” them agency. THIS is misogynoir lmfao. Why does Iris need chemistry with Barry specifically to be seen as a valid character and Candice a good actress? Like...if their love for these characters hinges so heavily on the white men they’re involved with then I mean...THAT is internalized antiblackness. Not us for noticing the antiblackness/racism. They need to go get therapy or something. I’m so tired of this redundant and basic argument.

The Flash: Roteiristas X Público (parte V) Porquê e como, Íris West se tornou The Flash.

*O Flashpoint do Flash

Eu disse anteriormente que o Flashpoint não é um episódio da série e sim três temporadas (3ª,4ª e 5ª). Agora vou mostrar como funciona.  O Flashpoint foi desenvolvido para resolver problemas, por conta disso, ele tem uma estrutura bem precisa para que a fluidez da narrativa não seja quebrada. Durante o Flashpoint as soluções serão aplicadas em três atos:

3ª temporada, planta.

4ª temporada, germina.

5ª temporada, colhe.

Observem como eles executaram esta estratégia com Caitlin.

1º Ato (Na terceira temporada eles plantaram) - transformaram Caitlin em Frost de modo que a origem do seu poder de gelo fosse uma incógnita.

2º Ato (Na quarta temporada eles germinaram) - tiraram seu poder de gelo  para obrigar uma investigação.

3º Ato (Na quinta temporada eles colhem) - a investigação sobre a origem do seu poder de gelo levam Caitlin a localizar seu pai, um vilão que manipula o gelo. Aquele que na minha dedução será o novo líder dos Rogues. Meta alcançada. Lembram da listas de objetivos que eles fizeram no meio da segunda temporada? É assim que irão atingi-las.

Com isso explicado, eu vou dividir as análises a partir daqui por temporadas, e vou respondendo as questões dentro delas.

Terceira temporada do The Flash: Os roteiristas começam a plantar.

Esta é a minha segunda temporada preferida, a melhor para mim é a quarta. Não se choquem, através da minha perspectiva vão ver como ela é incrível e não tem nada de medíocre.  

O Flash está descaracterizado e para o público o Time do Flash é muito importante. Flash é visto como um super-herói coletivo, dependente da equipe. Então, como você resolve um problema desse? Simples, você cria um novo Flash sem aquilo que você não quer. Como é? Eu sei! Vocês só viram o Barry, né? Mas eles criaram um novo Flash. E para esse novo Flash eles deram a missão mais importante do Flashpoint; Matar o Time do Flash e assim libertar Barry Allen. De quem eu estou falando? De ninguém menos que  Íris West.  

Por que Íris foi a escolhida para ser o novo Flash? Porque ela era a única da narrativa que, realmente, fazia parte da mitologia Flash. Ela era a única que podia tocar no Barry sem piorar a situação, já que toda a história dos dois era mitológica e Íris tinha conexão com todos os outros Flashes. E a melhor parte, com os problemas que surgiram na primeira temporada eles a manusearam com cuidado para que ela também não fosse descaracterizada. Por isso sua narrativa era muito lenta, qualquer deslize eles a perderiam. Como eles fizeram?

Os escritores criaram uma equação: Barry + Íris = Flash ou se preferirem, Westallen = Flash. Bem, quando roteiristas montam uma equação eles precisam encontrar uma forma de validá-la. Essa validação vai ocorrer durante o período narrativo determinado. Neste caso eles têm duas pessoas que precisam se tornar uma. Como você faz isso? Impossível. Não mesmo, só depende da referência e da imaginação. Eles encontraram todas as formas que poderiam validar esta equação. A da terceira temporada foi o conceito de Luz e Sombra.

Como funcionou...

O conceito de Luz e Sombra diz que um indivíduo tem dois lados; um luz e um sombra. O seu lado luz é seu lado bom, positivo. Já o lado sombra é o mau, o negativo. Ambos os lados sofrem influência do meio, o que provoca a alternância dos lados. Existem momentos, em que pessoas boas vão estar sombrias e pessoas sombrias estarão boas. Depende dos eventos em que elas estão vivendo. Pronto. Este é o resumo do resumo, mas nos atende. Agora vamos ao Flash!

De acordo com este conceito, Barry Allen tem dois lados. O exercício que os roteiristas fizeram foi definir quais eram os dois lados de Barry e o que os alimentavam. Em uma narrativa mais simples eles teriam colocado Barry em coma e feito todo o duelo dos seus lados de forma psicológica, todavia optaram por criar o conceito de remanescente do tempo (Obrigada segunda temporada!) e criar a luta externamente. Então, o exercício agora é viajar para o futuro, criar um evento que ative o lado sombra e provoque o desmembramento, isso feito, é só trazer o lado sombra para o passado para enfrentar sua versão que está com seu lado luz ativado. Lindo! Simplesmente, lindo!

Com isso, passamos a ter; O Flash é o lado Luz e o Savatar é o lado Sombra. Como eles são opostos o que alimenta um, destrói o outro. Sendo assim, para Savatar, ou seja, para a sombra existir, a luz precisa ser eliminada. É óbvio, quando estamos no escuro acendemos a luz e ele desaparece, para ele voltar temos que desligar a luz. Todavia, houve uma particularidade nesse conceito tão simples: Savatar não queria matar Barry Allen, ele era Barry Allen, era suicídio. O que ele queria matar era seu lado luz. Quem Savatar precisava matar para existir? Não era Íris West? Então, é seguro afirmar que Savatar, a escuridão, queria matar Íris, porque ela era a luz, correto? Mas estamos falando de Barry e já sabemos que ele têm dois lados; seu lado sombra é Savatar e seu lado luz é o Flash, então a pergunta é: quem é o Flash? Exatamente, Íris West era a luz a ser apagada, Íris é o Flash.

Isso é filosofia, gente. Toda a terceira temporada é filosófica. Por que Savatar usava armadura? Era uma referência a Caixa de de Pandora, não é lá que guardamos tudo de ruim que nós temos?

Por que Savatar foi preso na Força de Velocidade? Nós não escondemos nossa Caixa de Pandora nas profundezas do nosso ser? Como a batalha era externa, mundo real, onde Barry esconderia sua Caixa de Pandora?!

Por que Íris não lutou pela sua vida? Porque a terceira temporada era uma luta de Barry contra ele mesmo. Salvar Íris, era a luta de Barry para salvar o Flash, porque é dentro do seu amor por Íris que o Flash vive. Se ela morre, o Flash morre com ela. Ninguém pode lutar contra nosso lado sombra, só nós mesmos. Por isso o exercício era dele, não dela. Só existem três formas de matar nosso lado sombra:

Suicídio. Eliminamos os dois lados. No primeiro encontro de Barry e Savatar após a descoberta de quem era o vilão, Barry ameaça se matar.

Apagar o que alimenta nosso lado escuro, eventos traumáticos. Quando eles apagaram a memória do Barry. Só que isso traz um problema, nós deixamos de ser quem somos, viramos outra pessoa. No caso do Barry, ele virou o Bart. Ah! Ele era fofo! Mas não era o Barry. 

Manter a Luz acesa. Porque só ela pode eliminar a Sombra sem perdas, da vida ou da identidade. Foi por esse motivo que quem matou Savatar foi Íris, porque só a Luz pode matar a Escuridão.

Muito bem! Agora como o Flash Íris mata o Time do Flash:

Fácil! Eu falei que a equação precisa ser validada. É no processo de validação que o Time do Flash vai sendo morto. Como é feito…

Barry + Íris = Flash de modo que (validação): Não exista Flash sem Íris West. Se Íris morre (deixar de existir) o Flash morre com ela. Então quem passa a existir é Savatar. Savatar não é o Flash, é o Barry, mas não o Flash. 

Com isso, a equação foi validada; Barry + Íris = Flash => porque Não existe Flash sem Íris West. Desse modo, se para o Flash existir ele só precisa de Íris West, o Flash precisa do Time do Flash para o quê? Pronto. É assim que Íris (Flash) mata o Time, ela vai reduzindo a sua relevância, vai assumindo a autonomia do Flash e vai redirecionado o Flash (Barry) para a individualização. Para isso, tudo que essencial para grandeza do Flash, os escritores colocam em Íris. Ela tem que ser a referência. Esse exercício é fundamental, porque quando o Flashpoint acabar, o Time do Flash vai estar morto, Barry vai poder ser um super-herói individual, atrelado somente ao Flash Íris. Só que desativar este Flash Íris é a parte mais fácil de resolver. Como  Íris é o amor de Barry, ela já está integrada a essência dele e aos seus poderes, a Íris Flash não precisa desaparecer. Ela vai dar sustentação para o Barry sem equipe, como inspiração e para-raios, demais funções o ele assume sozinho. E esta transição é imperceptível ao público.

Isso é extraordinário, gente! Esta engenharia narrativa, mostra a qualidade técnica desses escritores. Eles não são bons, eles são fantásticos. A quantidade de detalhes que eles manipulam é assustadora. As pessoas notaram que o Flash Reverso não aparece na terceira temporada, somente no episódio Flashpoint? Sabe por que? Porque se Íris morre, o Flash não existe, quem existe é Savatar e no mundo de Savatar o Flash Reverso não pode  existir, porque foi a grandeza do Flash que inspirou Eobard Thawne a se tornar o Flash Reverso, por isso a sua ausência.

 Atenção aos detalhes, mesmo com o público perdendo tantas coisas, eles atentam aos detalhes.  A desatenção do público é tanta, que eles brincam com o público e ele não vê. Querem um exemplo dessas brincadeiras?! Nesta terceira temporada, quando eles apagaram a memória do Barry, ele e Íris estavam conversando sobre o passado deles e Íris lhe disse que seu anime preferido era o Dragon Ball Z. Onde está  a brincadeira? Para quem não está familiarizado com animes, o  Dragon Ball Z é um anime onde os personagens fazem fusão. Ou seja, dois personagens viram um. Exatamente o que eles estavam fazendo na série. Até hoje eu não sei se a ideia de fusão de Barry e Íris veio da filosofia chinesa Ing e Iang ou do Dragon Ball. Uma piada nerd muito bem executada, que até os nerds não viram. 

Bem, como eu disse na terceira temporada os escritores estão plantando, então muita coisa está acontecendo nela, como a chegada de Cecília. Cecília é um personagem importantíssimo, não se engane ela é. Ela viabiliza coisas indispensáveis. Seu relacionamento com Joe é crucial. Eu vou avançá-la um pouco só para vocês visualizarem suas funções na narrativa. Eu vou citar uma completa. Cecília entra na narrativa com uma filha. Na quarta temporada ela engravida de uma menina. Na quinta temporada Nora West Allen. O que isso significa? Significa que o Show tinha apenas 2 mulheres - Íris e Caitlin - Com Cecília ficam 3, com sua filha mais velha 4 (não importa se ela não é ativa, ela tem que ser contabilizada, porque ela tem um vínculo com um personagem ativo, neste caso ela pode ser explorada a qualquer mom ento), com a sua filha caçula, 5 e com Nora formam 6.

Sim, e daí? E daí, que a série triplicou o número de mulheres de 2 para 6, nesta situação eles podem eliminar uma delas sem ser atacado pelo público, aquele que contextualizam Caitlin. E que, certamente, falariam que o show só tinham duas mulheres, que nunca foram escritas como amigas ou parceiras e para  completar a agenda anti-feminista mataram uma delas. A morte de Caitlin exigia alguns cuidados, o público que não gosta de Íris vai criar problemas, Cecília neutraliza alguns deles.

Através de Cecília, eles aumentaram o número de mulheres, atendendo ao propósito de eliminar uma. Se agora ficaram cinco mulheres, muito mais do que tinha antes, por que estão reclamando? E o mais brilhante desta estratégia, eles aumentaram o número de mulheres no show, de modo a não permitir a criação de um navio substituto do snowbarry. Quem vai enviar Barry com Cecília? Com alguma das filhas de Cecília? Jesus!! Ou com sua própria filha? Credo!! Isso sim seria incesto. E tem mais, com esta configuração a narrativa permite a inclusão de mais duas mulheres - o interesse amoroso de Cisco e Ralph - comportando quatro mulheres ativas e duas inativas. E nenhuma delas poderá ser usada pelo público para substituir Caitlin.

Como eu falei, o Flashpoint em três atos.

1º Ato (3ª temporada) - eles iniciaram o relacionamento de Cecília com Joe.

2º Atos (4ª temporada) - eles a engravidam de uma menina.

3º (5ª temporada) - eles já tem um número suficiente de mulheres para eliminar uma. E para outras coisas.

Esta é uma das funções de Cecília as demais falarei durante os posts.  Se descobrir que Íris é o Flash e Cecília está ajudando a matar Caitlin foi surpreendente, não se esqueça que estamos só no começo da terceira temporada, tem muito mais.

Flashpoint AU: This New Life

More broken than ever in the wake of his father’s murder, Barry goes back in time to save his mom, creating an alternate timeline know as ‘Flashpoint’.

When Barry starts his new life in this timeline, he discovers that not only does he have living parents, he also has a wife, Iris West-Allen.

When Barry returned to 2016, he instantly felt relief. It was the exact moment he’d left, but it felt like a different world. The present he ran away from was a life so different to the one he would start living in this new present he created.

Barry knew saving his parents would drastically alter the timeline. The course of events that followed his mother’s murder-his father’s arrest, living in the West house-no longer happened. Barry wondered if all aspects of his life would change.

Would he still be a CSI? Was his career the result of his relentless pursuit of justice after it was denied to his family? Did lightning ever strike him, giving him superspeed? If he was not a CSI, he would not have been in the lab the night the particle accelerator exploded. Were all of his major life events contingent on his childhood tragedy? And, perhaps the most pressing question, where does he live? Surely, he doesn’t live with Joe as an adult if he never did as a child.

While the questions occured to Barry, at this moment, he didn’t really care what their answers were. It wouldn’t change the first place he was going.

A streak of red and gust of wind flew down the street. A fraction of a second later, Barry was standing on the porch of his childhood home. He tentatively knocked on the door. Approaching footsteps from inside the house were audible. Barry held his breath as he waited, half expecting a stranger to open the door, for his mission to have failed, for him to still be a grieving orphan.

“Barry!”

The familiar, tender voice of Nora Allen said as she opened the door.

“This is a surprise. I didn’t know you were stopping by.”

She looked different, older. Laugh lines around her smile and sun spots on her skin were evidence of the years she’d continued living since the night which Thawne killed her. Her eyes were the same though. Empathetic pools of green that she’s passed down to Barry. Tears filled in his as he looked at his living, breathing mother in awe.

“Is everything ok?” She asked, evidently worried by her Barry’s stunned silence.

Barry launched forward and hugged his mother for the first time in 16 years. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tight enough against his body to fell her heart beating, reassuring him that she was alive.

“Mom!” Barry cried onto her shoulder.

Despite being caught off guard by the affection, Nora put her arms around Barry as well. She rubbed his back, like she’d always done to comfort him when he was upset as a child.

“Oh honey, what happened? Are you ok? Is Ir-”

“Everything is great, mom.” Barry affirmed. His arms slacked, so that he and his mother could look at each other face to face. “I just really missed you.”

“Aw, my beautiful boy.” Nora cooed. She put a hand over her heart. “I was only away on that conference for two days.”

Barry blinked away tears. “I guess it just felt like a lot longer.”

“Oh, come here.” Nora pulled Barry in for another tight squeeze.

Barry felt a sense of calm he realized he’d been unable to achieve for 16 years as he reveled in his mother’s presence. Like a child, he clung to her, taking in her scent and soft touch.

“Hey, slugger!”

The sound his father’s voice made Barry cry in rejoice. He left his mother’s arms to embrace his father with equal enthusiasm. Barry’s rapid, shallow breaths and little sobs made Henry tense up.

“Whoa, easy Barry. What’s going on?” Henry asked in concern.

Barry beamed at him. “I’m just uh- overcome with emotion.”

“Any particular reason?”

“I really love you guys. You’re great parents.”

Nora folded her arms and nodded. She looked at Henry, conveying her confusion but appreciation for the outpouring of love.

“We love you toon, son.” Henry said, patting Barry on the shoulders.

“You’re sure everything is ok?” Nora asked again. “Nothing going on at work or with Iris that you want to talk about?”

Barry’s stomach flipped at the mention of Iris’ name. Now that he knew his parents were alright, Iris was Barry’s next priority to meet in this new life. He expected they’d still be friends even though he never lived in the West house. Their friendship felt like the kind that would endure.

“Iris is great.” Barry told his parents.

“Work is great too?” Henry inquired. “How are things in that lab of yours?”

Before Barry could answer, Nora grabbed his arm.

“Oh, please tell me you weren’t the CSI who had to go to that horrible crime scene I saw on the news yesterday! The one downtown where that shooting happened!”

Barry shook his head, taking a mental note that he was still a CSI.

“Good! That was gruesome.”

“The work of The Rival yet again” Henry said. “Hopefully, The Flash catches him before he destroys half the city.”

Barry smirked. His parents didn’t seem to catch on, leading him to believe they were unaware of his identity. He decided he wanted them to know, but now wasn’t the right time to tell them. A few days of getting used to this life would be useful before confessing something like that.

“I’m tired.” Barry yawned. “I’m going to hit the sack.”

“I’m sure Iris is waiting for you at home.” Nora said. She gave Barry a kiss on the cheek. “Tell her I said hi.”

“Uh- er- Of course.” Barry stuttered.

Iris was waiting for him? At home? That didn’t mean the West home, did it? It couldn’t. So, did that mean she and Barry live together?

Henry gave Barry one last pat on the arm. “Tell her hi from me too.”

Barry nodded.

Using his speed, Barry stole the keys out of his dad’s pocket, ran out of the house, got into one of the cars out front, and turned the ignition. The GPS came up. Barry typed his name into the search bar at super speed. An address for an apartment building came up along with directions on how to get there. Barry smiled, that must be where he lives with Iris. He turned the car off, ran back inside, put the keys back in his father’s pocket, and stood in the same spot he was in before. When his mind stopped racing at mach 3, his father unfroze.

“Take care, slugger.”

Barry watched his parents walk into the other room. The sight made him giddy. His cheeks were still wet with tears, but Barry smiled, knowing he’d be able to see his mom and dad again tomorrow.

As Barry turned to leave, he surveyed the living room. In some ways it looked very different to how he remembered it. In other ways, it looked the same. What fascinated Barry were the photos around the room, showcasing the happy life of two adoring parents and their growing son.

Barry recognized several photos that were taken before he turned 11, ones that he’d tearfully look at in his room at the West house on night’s when his grief was overwhelming. A 5 year old Barry blowing out the candles on his birthday cake with his parents smiling on either side of him. 6 year old Barry and his parents watching a firework show in Masonville. 10 year old Barry holding a 1st place ribbon from his school science fair with hand and giving his mother a high-five his with the other.

Then, the unfamiliar pictures caught Barry’s attention. Captured in them, Barry saw himself and his parents living moments that they hadn’t lived. Barry and his parents at his high school graduation. A tearful Nora hugging Barry goodbye as he moved into his university dorm. Barry wished he could remember the moments the photos were taken. He looked at them, never wanting to look away. Until, one photo made him do a double take.

On the fireplace mantel, was a framed photo of Barry, his parents, and Iris. Barry was in suit and bow tie, his arm around Iris, who wore a white lace dress. Nora and Henry on either side of them, glowing with pride. Barry’s hand trembled as he picked up the photo. He grazed his fingertips over the happy faces. They seemed like ghosts in a dream. Barry desperately wished he could remember the day that photo was taken. It meant, he and Iris are married.

In hindsight, Barry realized it should have been obvious, what with his parents asking about Iris and mentioning how he lives with her. But, it took seeing the proof with his own eyes to understand that he was married to Iris. In this timeline, this new life, he and Iris are husband and wife.
