Wendy is an artists who specialises in photography and digital media. In one of her series ‘’Doppelgangers’’ children are staged seemingly alienated by their environments. The effect is achieved by using multiple images on the same subject.

To me these images are sort of creepy, the children are photoshoped to be in the one image, it is nearly like we are seeing into a parallel universe with the way they are laid out.

The Two Fridas

When looking into the idea of Doppelgangers the painting ‘’The Two Fridas’’ emerged into my mind, as it is also going alongside the idea of identity and people looking alike.

This painting was painted after Fridas divorce with her husband Diago. It depicts two versions of Khalo herself, both seated alongside each other holding hands. They are connected by a vein that connects two beating hearts, one of which has been irrevesibly damaged.

The Frida on the right is the Woman Diego was in love with- dressed in traditional clothing. The Frida on the left depicts the independent modern Frida.

I'm thinking of participating in no content November but im also kinda scared to. It sounds silly but my blog has finally been growing and I know its not all about notes or followers but im scared all my work will be for nothing and people won't care even if I stop posting. I know it sounds silly but as a content creator I thought you'd be able to understand :)

Yeah, I know the feeling + understand and nobody is going to judge you if you won't participate!! 😊

And yeah that's the risk in that, people might just end up thinking that "oh that writer/content creator is just lazy" and unfollow but I still think it's worth a try. I mean I've been keeping this blog for almost 2 years and my most popular fic looks like this:

And the longer this goes on, the more we feel unmotivated and writers are fearing that this whole community gets ripped down because people just don't seem to appreciate us. 😬 Writers support writers, but most readers don't. It's sad. And if most writers left because of this, that would be irrevesible damage to this community. Some have already left.

I've seen people saying to writers who are battling with thoughts of staying or leaving stuff like "you should be grateful even if you got just one like and it should motivate you to keep going" and people just don't understand that how discouraging it is when we work our asses off and get like 0.01% recognition for that if even that and we're expected to be grateful that someone bothered to read that piece + people are saying we should work harder to get more recognition. But even if we published 100 fics every day, the recognition would still stay the same. Just likes, rarely reblogs and even more rarely feedback. On selfies/personal posts likes feel good, but when we post writing we used hours of our time on and it gets 10 likes within a week, no comments or reblogs?? Yeah no.

But I perfectly understand your reasons to doubt if you should participate and I'm sure the whole community understands. As a growing blog that surely can feel like an uncomfortable thought, as you're gathering followers and notes, you're being noticed, that's an exciting feeling, I remember it too. And I don't know if I would have participated at that point but as I've been here with this blog for 2 years, I now know how it feels when you mainly get likes, occasional follows from people who you probably don't ever hear about again etc as it happens every day. But if you choose not to participate and if this event is on again next year, you could participate then? 😊

Thank you ^^G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?I can write some single scenes out of order, but mostly, I have to write chronologically. Often enough, the scene from later won’t fit anymore by the time I arrive there.L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?Depends. I usually edit while writing/do a mix of the two, so part of the job is done by the time I actually finish. But I like to go over it once or twice anyway, just to make sure I didn’t miss anything (sometimes I even have the patience to sleep over it, as I think one should do ;).S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?And they were rommates. / And there was only one bed. Everyone is free to write it, because hey, fiction doesn’t have to be realistic and to each their own, but it doesn’t fulfil any of my needs and just…no.Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?Sometimes I do read or write it, but actual irrevesible major character death it’s my worst trigger in fiction, so I’m very careful. Kill off Snape or Theon in a fic and I’m out. They died in canon, I want them to live in the fic I read. Very occasionally, I’ll kill my favourites in my own fics, but writing is different from reading ;)
