i have never seen someone having a crush on their friend end well. like. ive heard of it. but i have NEVER seen it end amicably. either they convinced themself they liked each other then realised "ehhh not rlly ur just rlly cool" OR the friendship is never the same, entire friend groups fall apart, the drama is INSANE. OR. they break up but still pine for each other for eternity and never get over it and its super dramatic. OR. its one sided and tragic. the first option is the best option. if you have a crush on one of your friends you better pray you get over it so help me god. especially if they have a partner already. if you have a crush on your friend STOP. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND. WEIGH THE RISKS. THINK "IS THIS WORTH ENDING OUR FRIENDSHIP AND POSSIBLY OTHER PEOPLES FRIENDSHIPS OVER?". AND THEN PROCEED HOW YOU WOULD LIKE.

honestly. this is probably just me being a fucking hater im a 13 yr old girl whos never even held hands with a boy what the hell would i know. do not take this as biblical truth. do not incorporate this into your worldview. just. be careful if you have a crush on your friend y'all. it will most likely change your relationship with them and all of your mutuals friends forever, for better or for worse. so. whatever

1. How many works do you have on Ao3?

15, although one of them is a collection containing multiple short stories :)

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?

160,403. That's 3x 30k multi-chapter fics and the rest short stories :)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

At the moment, The Bad Batch. I have fond attachment to older stories for Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, and Iron Kingdoms as well.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

1/ System Upgrade The Kaminoans upgrade Echo's cybernetics before he is cleared to join the Batch, and then he has to bond with his new squad. 2/ A Fair Price To Pay Crosshair is determined to break Omega out of Tantiss. Along the way, she saves him too. 3/ Test Subject Originally a one-shot, now the prequel/first part of System Upgrade. Echo being experimented on by the Kaminoans. 4/ Beach Days & Hair Braiding Nothing but sweet, tooth-rotting, brotherly fluff. Hunter, Omega and Crosshair on Pabu. 5/ Phobia 300 words, Omega helps the Batch deal with an unwelcome 8-legged guest ;)

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes! I'm an inherently social creature. I always want you to know how much your comment means to me, and it's even better when we get a conversation going.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmm, this is probably a draw between Soup Of The Day and Presumed Dead. Definitely no positive outlook at the end of those.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Another toss-up between Beach Days & Hair Braiding and Human Weapon aka. the Birthday Cake Fic. Both set with everyone living happily on Pabu and both end with Hunter and Crosshair starting to regain some of their old brotherly closeness :)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Haven't yet, apart from getting caught up in the AO3 bot comment fiasco!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do ;) My flavour is more to do with the emotional connection and closeness between two people who trust each other very much, M rather than E rating. I love a love story :')

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No but I get to brainstorm them all the time with @ninjadeathblade! The craziest one? There's been so many! But I want to say The Bad Batch/Mamma Mia crossover. Nobody was finding out who Omega's dad was in that because all the clones have the same DNA XD

11. (Question 11 was missing! So I wrote my own!) Which fic are you proud of but wish had gotten a bigger response from your readers?

Welcome To The Outpost got off to a slow start, and I wonder if it's because for half of the story it didn't include a single main character from the show? But the people who did read left such wonderful comments so I shall continue to consider this fic my underrated gem!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

None of my published ones, but I literally spent my teen years writing fic by passing notes back and forth in class, me and my friends taking it in turns to add a few lines to the story!

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

I don't think I have one? I am fairly open to reading anything and know how to use the back button if I don't like it. It's less about the characters involved and more about reading the same idiots-to-lovers trope in as many different ways possible.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Well it would be lovely to finish all my Iron Kingdoms inspired stories because I'm so attached to them, but it's also so sprawling and I have only me to motivate myself so... I guess that's not happening ^^;

16. What are your writing strengths?

I like to think it's the occasional absolutely devastating heart-breaking descriptive prose that sneaks its way into my writing :P

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Over-punctuation ^^; I tend to add punctuation every time I pause for thought, which means at times, there really isn't a lot of flow, to my writing, because the little reset counter in my head, forgets when the last time I stopped for a proper break is. Then I have to go back and edit it into sensible length sentences!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I have only used fantasy languages, but in Iron Kingdoms a large part of my main character's drive was her heritage so language played a significant part in that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Final Fantasy 8! Oh so long ago and sad to have lost it in many computer transfers since then. I think everyone should keep the fics they wrote when they were 14. I worked so hard on that story ;_;

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I have a lot of favourites but my number one is probably Adrenaline Crash. I am feral for Feral Hunter.

Being the only omega on the Avengers, you were by far the most overprotected omega in the world. No alpha or even beta was good enough for you in their eyes and so you were basically kept in an ivory tower locked away from the world. Yet none of them seemed to realise that there was one eligible alpha who had captured your heart long ago.

Only one person knew about your crush on Sam and that was Natasha. The alpha had caught you staring at the older man one time too many for it to be written off as just a friendly gaze. And every chance she could, she encouraged you to tell him but every time you tired, you just couldn’t get the words out.

So tonight, you were giving it one last shot. Dressed in a tight red dress that clung to you like a second skin, highlighting each and every curve of your body. With your hair perfectly done and heels that made your ass look brilliant, you felt like a goddess as you walked into the party. Pheromones rolled off of you in waves, making everyone turn their heads to watch as you glided through the crowd.

Your omega preened under the attention but still there was one pair of eyes that you were dying to see. And almost like a moment in a movie, there he was. He donned a deep maroon suit, sipping on a glass of whisky as he looked out the huge windows overlooking the city. Suddenly he turned and his eyes grew two sizes. 

His scent of pine and leather grew more musky as you approached, his breathing becoming even deeper. You stopped just before him, the tip of your heels barely inches from his black dress shoes. “Hi.” You murmured bashfully.

“Hi.” He responded, seemingly at a loss for words. “You look just, wow. You look beautiful.” Sam finally spit out. Heat raced up your cheeks.

“Thank you, so do you. I mean, you look handsome.” Carefully, he placed his glass to the side, truly not caring about the alcohol anymore, before he offered a hand to you.

“Would you like to dance?” You took it, cradling his large palm in a gentle grip.

“I would love to.”

Sam stood on the other side of the kitchen counter, a good distance from you. He looked almost pained as he struggled to keep a level head. You were squirming on the kitchen stool he had forced you onto, the onset of your heat coming quickly but there was a serious discussion to be had first.

“I want to mark you.”

“I want that too.” You agreed immediately, another wave of slick soaking your already destroyed panties. Sam took in a deep breath through his mouth.

“And- I want a family with you.” You froze and then moaned loudly. Quickly, you slipped from the chair and grabbed your soon-to-be alpha by the collar of his shirt and tugged him down for an almost painful kiss. Tentatively, he held your thick waist, pulling your soft body closer to him. You growled against his lips, needing more.

But he pulled away, albeit reluctantly. “I need you to give me your consent or else we can’t spend your heat together.” He said firmly, looking into your lust-blown eyes. 

“Yes! Yes! I want your pups! I want your mark! Just please, I need you inside of me right now.” And with that, his iron resolve shattered. He held you as tight as he could and pressed you back against the counter, fitting his slim hips between your plump thighs and rutted into your clothed heat.

“My omega, my fucking omega.” He snarled.

“‘M all yours.”

“Fuck you Wilson!” You screamed in agony, gripping onto the rails attached to your bedside as you bared down.

Sam paid no mind to your words, instead wiping away the sweat that had collected along your brow with a damp cloth. “I know ‘mega but you’re doing so good. Only a little bit more to go now.” You slumped back against the many pillows behind you as the contraction passed, finally able to catch your breath.

“You are never getting laid again.” You groaned and let your eyelids flutter shut, exhaustion quickly overtaking you. Yet Sam just chuckled and pressed a loving kiss to your forehead.

“That’s what you said the first two times but here we are yet again.” You just glared at your husband.

“Okay Mrs Wilson! Let’s see if you’re ready to push.” The beta doctor disappeared between your raised legs before reappearing once more. “You’re at 10 centimetres, it’s time.”

Quickly, Sam took your hand into his own, giving it a gentle squeeze of reassurance. You nodded at the doctor, feeling another contraction begin. “That’s it, keep going. Such a good girl.” Pain ripped through you like nothing else and you pushed.

The sun had begun to set over the farm property. All the kids were either at a friend’s house or still at school (your eldest had started college only 6 months ago) so for the first time since Sam had claimed you, the house was quiet.

You sighed and relaxed into the alpha’s open arms. His scent was milder now, not as powerful as it was in his prime but you still loved it all the same. You could feel him smile against the crown of your head before he laid a kiss there.

“I love you ‘mega.”

“I love you alpha.”

10. Top three favourite fic tropes.

In no particular order: Hurt/Comfort, Friends to Lovers, Found Family.

20. Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?

I tend to have many irons in the fire but I usually only write for one thing at a time. Unless I get really stuck, I try to write one thing to completion and then switch. (Although I just remembered there was a fandom event where I ended up writing two fics at the same time. That was a wild time.)

23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?

Dialogue, every time! I feel like I can "hear" character's voices pretty well, it's just a matter of getting that onto the page. Description is hard for me because I just don't visualize those details, both when I'm writing or reading. With reading, I have to stop and really think about the description to form the picture in my head. When I'm writing, the characters are just kind of there in my head and I don't think about their clothes or the setting, unless I make an effort to remember that some readers might like those details. :)

Also, I think I'm still recovering from writing sentences like "She had brown hair and green eyes and was 5' tall."

28. Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?

Write that crappy first draft. Just get the words onto the page, even if you're rolling your eyes or cringing at how bad it feels to you. Write it, then step away for a day or two before you come back to it with fresh eyes. It probably won't seem as bad, and now that you've made progress you know the blank page can't hold you back.

33. Give your writing a compliment.

(When I saw this on the list, I was like "Boy, I hope no one picks that." 😂)

L and Matsuda for 002?

How I feel about L: hhhhh sigh. hhh. sighhhshhshsiigggh. honestly? he's kind of like my favourite jumper. he's my number one comfort character ever and I came very close to crying in bed for days after he died. i am not 'typical about this man.

How I feel about Matsuda: he's such a cutie!! teehee!!! look at this silly fella who probably cuts his own hair!! giggling and kicking my feet cause he's funny and silly and would be a good friend doncha think?

All the people I ship romantically with L: Matsuda, Misa, Rie, other people's OCs (if they're shipped with him by their creator xD). Light deserves a mention because while I don't ship LawLight romantically I do think they're an iteration of the "red thread" trope because no matter what time, no matter what place, they'll write history together with a pen filled with their own blood in place of ink. that said I was genuinely surprised that so many people ship them just because I don't see it at all. I don't hate it, there's just nothing that clicks for me when looking at L and Light.

All the people I ship romantically with Matsuda: mostly just L, I've seen Matsu + Misa stuff but I think they'd be cuter friends.

My non-romantic OTP for L: Light 100%. You can't have one without the other. I can't explain all my thoughts about them without a whole post dedicated to it, but anyway, Light is my answer.

My non-romantic OTP for Matsuda: mentioned it above, Misa! They're two sillies and they're both :3 so they're besties and they've probably got matching friendship bracelets.

My unpopular opinion about L: he does eat normal food on a semi-regular basis. specifically, meat, usually I think steak. I hc him as anemic but also Watari wouldn't let L die or become malnourished and there's important things in food that you can't necessarily get in vitamins or tablets. and actually, as someone with anemia, I think L would actually have really strong cravings for rare or medium rare red meat when his iron is low and thus when he eats it he enjoys it.

My unpopular opinion about Matsuda: He's actually really smart, especially with humanities subjects. Just doesn't have great detective skills. A different career path may have been beneficial but he actually really believes in justice, probably more so than L and Light, and he actually QUESTIONS his own sense of justice which leads to more balance. he's such a great guy.

One thing I wish had happened with L in canon: he survived. and actually, I'd just really like to see him solve lots of cases. idk how many/if any he solved outside the anime but you know. a side series where he solves cases and explores the world and has tea parties with Watari would melt my heart.

One thing I wish had happened with Matsuda in canon: honestly I just wish we got to see more of him in general. I wish we got deeper into his character - into everyone's character, actually, they're all a little 2D and it's not just the animation - but yeah. more Matsu. how he works.

My L OTP: I'm not sure if I can pick one HAHAHHS I love all his relationships (well, my headcanons for them) from platonic to father and son to mentor and mentee to enemies together to lovers. yeah. I just like L LMAO but maybe Matsu. hm idk. I hear some people ship him with BB or Naomi and I wanna look into that.

My Matsuda OTP: lowkey L and Matsuda are one of my favourite ships. in Matsu's case I don't really ship him with anyone else so this is the only answer. some of you might have noticed that in my headcanons Matsuda plays Pokémon Go! and L is a Pokémon fan too... hmm... Also I like them cause they're both childish: like yeah L is always calling Matsuda stupid but does he call any other task force members stupid, even when they deserve it? no. arrogant child and silly child. even in non ship situations I think they're actually on similar wavelengths in a way.

My crossover ship for L: (platonic) Saiki K. you can't tell me they wouldn't be best friends come onnnn smnsndndm hehe

My crossover ship for Matsuda: I dunno actually...

A headcanon for L: if he has to wear shoes, he has to wear blue socks. not dark blue or navy, LIGHT, SATURATED BLUE. it's like neon ahhaha. there's little yellow flowers at the hem bits but his jeans cover them.

A headcanon for Matsuda: he doesn't like chips because they're too crunchy. he likes chips though. curly chips. YES I CALL BOTH TYPES CHIPS AND IT MAKES IT HARD TO DISCERN OVER TEXT SHSGYAYDH SORRY

Sonoko has the right idea, help this girl realise she doesn't have to waste her life cleaning a house when the Kudo's have the money to hire fucking cleaners.

Boy and Girl are friends so they must be madly in love with each other since childhood! That's how romance works!! Honestly the "childhood friends to lovers" tropes is one I don't really care for so you can tell how I feel about almost every couple in the series being made up this way, or well the way Gosho writes it.

Also, Gosho, you won't convince me otherwise: Shinichi's first love was Sherlock Holmes.

Couldn't Ran's first love be Asami instead. I mean she's blushing a lot because of her.

Oh, ageism. Nice. I for one do not care about the number of candles on my cake, I just enjoy my wish and cake.

Yeah, you don't stand a chance if you believe you're in love with someone and you don't even know what one of their favourite food is. I can speak about how he hasn't told you but I can also speak about how you, Ran, have never bothered to ask. I'm not surprised she doesn't know though, because Gosho believes romance is just two people liking each other and nothing else.

Also, this is what I was talking about when I said I didn't like how Gosho writes childhood friends to lovers. These characters aren't even allowed to have life experience, they just know that this person they've been around since childhood and, for the main couple, have been told will be their future spouse by everyone, is actually the one for them. And they get upset if their childhood friend dared to have feelings for anyone that wasn't them.

Ran being strong to carry people. Yes. Next she can carry teenage size Shinichi.

...Shinichi, most people won't laugh when they know the trick that almost murdered their friend.

Also I love the image of Shinichi just wheeling Kogoro around on the chair.

At least Gosho has got something right, men will do harmful things to women in order to seem like their saviour and make them "fall" for them. Gross. Especially gross because she turned him down so that's why he wanted her, she wasn't a person, she was a conquest.

How ironic Shinichi has Kogoro saying the man should have learned how to improve himself when Kogoro refuses to do the same for the woman he "loves".

I repeat: this is a terrible way of writing childhood friends to lovers.

Ahahaha, thank you! It probably wouldn't be as organized if I hadn't started doing all the housekeeping on like day one😅 Laying the foundation early has made it easy to keep it up lol

I....have no idea....it just kinda happened??? I started off filling prompts (and making sure things had proper warnings cause I gravitated toward hero x villain stuff which is probably where the whump came in) to help get my foot in the door because I'd been a lurker on writeblr for years. Around the same time, I was getting ready to announce that I was self-publishing and wanted to promote my book everywhere I could. Thanks to the lovely writing community here, I started to use my blog as both a way to introduce Fire & Flight and fill prompts because I enjoyed doing it. The whump just sorta happened and I wasn't ~officially~ taking requests until recently....but I never exactly said no if someone mentioned wanting a continuation in the notes😅 I just like connecting with people and writeblr's been so welcoming and chill that it was easy to just do it all I guess😂

As for tropes: I don't really set out to write tropes, but they certainly choose me😜 Some of my favorites are found family, friends to lovers, and slow burn! I'd love to write a worthy redemption arc one day but alas, I don't think I've written a character worthy enough to pull it off satisfactorially. Enemies (to friends) to lovers is another I'd love to try my hand at because the tension! The conflicted feelings! The struggle to overcome why they were enemies in the first place! It's seems like such a fun trope to write!

oooo,, I am definitely an avid reader!! I haven't had a ton of time since high school to read books a lot but I adore it :D

I think my favorite genre is definitely fiction,, but more specifically probably fantasy! I'd say the majority, if not all, of the books I read are fantasy and adventure (I love good world-building and details about the rules and magic and what-not)

for book recs I think I really recommend Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao,,, it's the first polyamorous fantasy I've found and I absolutely adore it so far!! It kind of reminds me Pacific Rim, (in terms of the plot), and it's got a lot of the tropes I like (enemies to lovers, childhood friends to lovers, dark scary lover whose an absolute softie, etc). I haven't finished it yet but I am absolutely adoring it so far!! if you love the poly! stuff I write I would def check it out!!

I'm also currently reading (ik two at the same time, I'm horrible -- I've just got so many books on my to-be-read list that I couldn't wait xD ) From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout. I think it's going around booktok right now so I don't know if it's going to be any good (I can never trust booktok recs :(( ), but so far it's got some pretty good world-building!! I don't know how I feel about the mc yet (I'm really picky about main characters for some reason) nor the writing style, but I'm giving it a shot!

I'm also so down to discuss books and the ones on my to-be-read list!! I love talking books haha :D

Unchained Love (2022)

Genre: Comedy, Historical, Romance

Main Actors: Dylan Wang, Chen Yi Qi, Peter Ho, Zeng Li

Plot: Head Eunuch Xiao Duo rules the Court with an iron grip after the emperor dies. Fu Wang, the emperor's brother, begs Xiao Duo to save his secret love, Concubine Bu Yin Lou, from dying to serve the departed emperor. Xiao Duo takes advantage of having the new emperor's lover in his grasp, but quickly becomes intrigued by her quiet intelligence and scheming. (8.2/10)

Relationship: The main couple are adorable, all scheme-y and power couple-y. Antagonists to reluctant allies to friends to lovers, what an arc. Their mutual trust and respect for each other was quite refreshing, and it was sweet to see them let their guard down only around each other. Of course, they couldn't be perfect so there had to be a push-them-away-for-their-sake-and-make-them-hate-you trope but it was solved fairly quickly. The 2nd and 3rd lead couples were also quite cute. I wouldn't have minded more screentime. (8/10)

Characters: The antagonists' actors did a phenomenal job of making you hate them. The other characters were well done, too. I found the emperor's arc particularly interesting to watch. (9/10)

Favourite Quote/Scene: Tong Yun meeting Yin Lou in prison.

Final Thoughts: I was so scared this would the the Chinese version of Moon Lovers (thankfully, it wasn't); this is a high-stakes drama that I would not recommend if you're trying to keep your blood pressure down! I found the drama a bit laggy at times, although that may have simply been because I was so stressed and needed to know how it ended. Despite the stress, it was also liberally sprinkled with both cute and funny and fluffy moments, decently balancing it out. The ending was a bit rushed; I would have liked at least one more episode so I could see how the third couple made it out after the end, what happened to [redacted], a longer happy ending for the leads, etc. However, it didn't end like Moon Lovers, which was my main concern (can you tell I still have post-ML PTSD?) so I won't complain too much. (8.2/10)

I also agree with you, Polin also have something in common with Gabrily as you pointed out and the fact that Gabrily is a friends to lovers (which proves again why this is my favourite trope).

A scene that would happen identical to Kanthony in my fics is the "what's happening out there can't possibly be more important of what's happening down here", I swear if I knew how to draw I would make a Gabrily fanart with this exact same pose. Also the scene in the studio, for me that's Gabrily when they were tasked to be temporary head of the Institute in Chain of Iron.

Most likely Kate will announce she is pregnant in the next part, in the trailer there is a scene of Anthony having a hand on her belly so I think they're expecting already (or maybe I am just delulu).

i FUCKING ADORE best friends to lovers but i rarely find the kind of fic i like within that with the crazy best friend who is obsessed with you lmao. yeah the cute sweet fluffy one is enjoyable too but i like my yanderes lmao

i read almost all the txt smuts that are posted (that's a lie i read all the sub!txt ones but only some of the dom!txt ones which is ironic since i write a lot of sub!reader). i'm not a big series gal (again ironic) because i have a short attention span but i'm very sad that there are so few txt series or even longshots. i enjoy smut the best when it's enhanced by the plot. i don't really enjoy smut all that much without a backstory to make me feel what the characters are feeling which is why i mourn how sparse those type of fics are in the txt fandom so usually i just read the sub!idol stuff and get on ao3 and read the fics i like from whatever fandom it doesn't matter and just imagine it's gyu instead lmao

Last Fandom You Read Fic For: The Batfam. I am part of so many fandoms, but I read the most fanfic for the Batfamily by far - I almost always have one open. I fell down the rabbit hole during my late middle school/early high school years due to a friend's influence and have resided happily there since. I specify Batfam because while I do enjoy DC as a whole, I have a particular soft spot for the Robins.

First Fandom: I was a Percy Jackson girl, all the way.

Newest Fandom: Top Gun, which ironically is what most of my posts are about and prompted me to start this blog in the first place.

Biggest Fandom: Lord of the Rings. The first time I watched the movie trilogy was foundational for me. Since then Tolkien's works have taken over my life, slowly but surely.

Favourite Book/Fanfic Trope: Hurt/Comfort, all the way. It drives all my friends crazy cause they prefer fluffy stuff, but all my fic recs have pain in them. I also really love arranged marriages, enemies to lovers, and soulmates. Bonus points for combining any of the above. I will read most things though; I had to push really far to find the boundaries of what is within my comfort zone and what is a no for me, and I always try to respect myself in that way. For that matter though, feel free to give me/ask me for fic recs - I'm known as the "fanfic angel" amongst my irl friends. If I'm in the fandom, I'm more than happy to discuss and fangirl together!!

Biggest Pet Peeve: People who don't use turn signals. Driving is difficult for me enough as it is, so when I don't know what someone is about to do? Nervousness skyrockets.

Pairing: Druig x fem!eternal!reader

Summary: you and Druig always had something going on between the two of you, but it never seemed like something could happen. Maybe now things have changed.

A/N: hi! So, I watched Eternals some days ago and Druig was definitely one of my favourite characters and then, the plot of this just popped up to my mind and I suddenly felt the urge to write it! I read somewhere that Druig can read minds (and people here confirmed it to me, thank you again), so I added this into the story. I recommend you to read it while listening to Chase Atlantic, just to vibe better with the story. Enjoy!

When you saw him, you could have swore that your heart fell into your stomach immediately. That feeling of sinking was something you only experienced when you were with him. The feeling of not breathing into water, but not drowning either. It was like walking on a string as a tightrope walker. The red string that had always connected the two of you. Everytime some Eternal would say the world family, you had always felt a knot in your stomach. In families, people are not allowed to fall for each other. That’s exactly what Sersi and Ikaris did. When they married each other, a little spark of hope was born in your chest. Maybe you could have had him, after all. Maybe you could have had everything, this time. In a lifetime, you’re used to see the worst things happen, while waiting for the best. Maybe you didn’t have to wait anymore. But your relationship wasn’t really good. You loved to work together as a team, you were friends most of the time, but he was very stubborn, so often you had to fight with him for the most stupid things. Sidestep landmines. That’s what Ikaris always said. And it was also ironic, since you had the power to control fire. Druig was the only that could prevent you from exploding. There was a trigger, a weird feeling in your stomach, that was ready to start the chaos when you got angry, but he had always turned it off with a word. Kingo would have said a safe word, joking about the fact that the two of you seemed lovers. Oh, you wished you were.

But now, you weren’t angry. You were just desperate. All of you needed him, but you weren’t sure that he would have accepted to help you. The others suggested that you could have asked him, since you had always have some sort of influence upon him, but you didn’t really want to talk to him more than the necessary. Druig would have said that you were scared. Scared of him or scared of your feelings for him? You didn’t know, but he would have been right. He was always right about you.

“Hi”, he said, while greetings all of you.

You gulped. He looked even better than the last time. This century definitely looked good on him. Then, his gaze caressed your face and you felt it again. That feeling of sinking. You weren’t breathing anymore.

Please, don’t.

You weren’t sure what you were begging him not to do, but he didn’t really follow your request, since he walked over you. His expression was indecipherable, which was very unfair since he could control minds and read their thoughts (you know that now). He gave you a brief smile, almost shy, you would have said. Maybe he wasn’t sure that you would have been happy to see him. But against all of your promises not to fall for him, not to smile at him, not to touch him, you hugged him. And oh, oh the gods would have all agreed on this: the expression on your face was absolutely desperate. You held him so tight, clenching your fists around his jacket, that you almost felt like breathing again. Head above water.

“Someone here had missed you, Druig,” Kingo said, chuckling.

“You can tell,” Druig said, while you were immediately taking a step back from him. The corners of your eyes were burning because of the tears. He scanned your face, clenching his jaw. “Hey, it’s okay, you had all the rights to miss me,” he joked. Then, he lowered his voice, when he spoke again: “You look beautiful, my lovely Y/N”.

You finally raised your face, allowing your eyes to meet his ones. He tilted his head, gaving you a crooked smile.

“I should be the one to feel sorry,” you finally had the courage to say.

He tried to speak, but the others cut him off. They had to think about the next strategy. It was no time to chat about old memories, even if they were sweet.

Sersi sat next to you. One brief moment of peace before and after another disaster. One moment of loneliness interrupted by the presence of your old best friend. The one who had it all. But did you really wanted to be jealous of her, since she lost Ikaris too in the end? Maybe she hadn’t been so lucky, after all. This could have been you now. Lonely and lost. But was there a difference, in reality? Druig would have said no.

“What did you do, in this time? Did you enjoy being alone with yourself as you always wanted?”

You shaked your head, shrugging.

“Not really”.

Sersi breathed out, looking at you, but you were avoiding her gaze. She would have understood what you were thinking, even after all of those years. She didn’t have to read your mind with some particular powers. Oh, the irony.

“You know, I thought you were with Druig. I was expecting to find the two of you somewhere together, bickering for all the stupid things you always fight about,” she said. Your heart was drowning in a sea of melancholy, now. “Instead, you were writing a novel in New York at Starbucks, alone. Why?” You shrugged again. “Y/N, please, talk to me. You have been upset since we saw Druig. I’m the same person you trusted when you told me that maybe you had feelings for him, but that you couldn’t have him. Apparently, these feelings are still there, even if you two haven’t seen each other for…” You swallowed. Sersi stopped talking. You betrayed yourself. Maybe a part of you just wanted somebody to know. You kept staring at the white wall in front of you. “Y/N, how many years had passed since the last time you saw Druig?”

You remained silent. When you’re immortal, an eternity could pass very quickly. It seemed yesterday. Yesterday, you saw him. He was tangled in between your sheets. His mind was resting, for once. In his sleep, he couldn’t think. But you were awake and you were thinking. You were thinking of leaving him.

Hey, darlin’.

“A blink of an eye,” you answered, with dry throat.

Please, don’t go.

Sersi’s lips separated from themselves slowly. She seemed to struggle to find the words to talk to you. She had to be careful, since she was playing with fire here.

“That wasn’t the first time you saw him after we parted ways, was it?” She asked. Your hands gripped your jeans on the knees. “Y/N, what happened between the two of you?”

Now, you were definitely drowning.

“Hey, honey. Did you miss me?” Druig asked, while opening his arms with a grin.

“Oh, shush,” you said, but then you run onto him to hug him. You had missed him very badly, but finally you had reunited.

He didn’t even need to call you. He looked for you, he found you and then he appeared in front of your door. You were so happy, you didn’t even bother asking where he had been in the past years. He was there and that was the only thing that mattered.

You would have met him again many years later, in the present.

“Let me show you New York!” You exclaimed, while taking just a scarf to cover from the cold. “Come on, let’s go!”

The two of you spent the whole day hanging out, laughing, bickering, drinking something hot from Starbucks to warm up (actually, Druig was the only one who needed that). It was a really nice day and you realized you hadn’t had any in the past few years.

“You should add some spice in this novel,” he said that evening, sat on your sofa, while you were walking around in the room, nervous. Your laptop was on his legs. “I think that you what this means, right?”

“I know, Druig,” you replied, annoyed.

“Do you need some help?” He asked, winking at you. You weren’t sure if he was just messing around with you or not, but you shaked your head anyway.

“This is not my first rodeo, baby. I know how to handle this, thank you very much,” you said, while taking your laptop back.

“Okay, but I just wanted to be nice. You always say that I’m a dick”.

“Because you are, Druig,” you laughed.

“But not to you,” he said, serious.

You swallowed.

“Not to me, no,” you repeated, while looking at him.

You started to feel the heat. The temperature of your body was higher than normal, because of the fire you had inside, that little weird feeling you always felt in your stomach when you got angry. It was the chaos that could have exploded everytime. That’s why you didn’t feel hot during Summer, but just a little bit cold during Winter. So why did you feel so warm now?

In the meantime, you hadn’t notice that Druig stood up and that was now in front of you. His fingers were lingering on yours, slowly and carefully. It seemed like he was afraid of touching you.

“What are you thinking?” He asked you.

“As if you don’t know,” you replied, with a smile.

“I don’t,” he said, looking at you more intensively. You were about to melt. You looked directly into his eyes, finally, unsure of what was about to happen. He was being honest with you.

“I feel hot,” you said, realizing after you pronounced that sentence how you could appear too self-confident.

“For real?” Druig asked, laughing.

“No, I wasn’t trying to say that I feel beautiful or whatever! I just feel hot, it’s hot in here. I don’t feel the warm,” you exclaimed.

“That’s weird. But let me make something clear, first: you are beautiful. Please, don’t ever feel like you aren’t,” he said.

The heat. You felt it again. A spark of fire that was growing into your stomach, running all the way up to your chest, making it warm. A sense of being at home tangled with a feeling of lust.

“You should stop,” you said, while his hands were going up on your hips. “You should stop saying that,” you said, but your breath itched when his hands actually stopped.

“Why?”

Because now I just really want to kiss you.

“Because otherwise I’ll start believing that,” that’s what you said.

You didn’t expect his answer to be that, though: “Then, do it”.

“Druig…”

He grabbed your hips, pulling you closer to him, kissing you with passion. After all those years of waiting, of struggling, of suffering, the spark of fire in your stomach just wanted a release. And you gave it to it, just not in the way you had always thought.

You didn’t know that fire could have just run through your veins while you were kissing Druig. Or while you were undressing him. Maybe also touching him. His chest. His legs. With slow movements, making him go crazy. Fire didn’t have to rush. It takes its time. That’s what you did. But you didn’t expect the fire to destroy you.

“That was the first time we… well, you know. There were other times, during our brief relationship. And with brief I mean brief for us. Some years. But Ikaris were right, Sersi: we’re just sidestep landmines. We exploded. We fought a lot about the dumbest things. Maybe romance is not something that belongs to forever. I dreamt for us to be together since the beginning of time, but then, then I just wanted everything to end. So the last time we made love, it was the last time we saw each other. I said that we couldn’t be together and then I ran away. He didn’t show up to my door again, even if I think he knew where I was. We moved to Spain, but I came back to New York after that night,” you explained. “How tragic is it? Being in love with someone you can’t have”.

Sersi caressed your hand.

“Welcome to the club, I guess,” she said, with a sad smile.

You chuckled.

“I spent half of my life being jealous of you, Sersi. Thinking that I should have had what you had. But now I understand that we all were just doomed from the very start,” you said.

Somebody opened the door. At first, you thought that it was Kingo, but you were wrong. Druig told Sersi that Kingo was looking for her, but you thought that it was just a lie in order to make you remain there with him.

“I read your book,” Druig said, while sitting next to you.

“Oh, yeah?”

“Yeah. I find it very interesting that one of the two main characters has a leather jacket and short black hair,” he said. You gave him a quick smile. “I also enjoyed the line in which you say that he knew how to please his girl too well, it was – and I’m quoting here – as if he could read her mind,” he continued. “Is this based on a true story?”

You sighed, embarassed.

“I’m not gonna give you this satisfaction”.

“Oh, but you already did, darlin’”.

You laughed, noticing just in the end that he was looking at you. You felt your skin burning up, again. It happened just in his presence, now you were sure of it.

“When this will be all over, I would like to discuss about us,” he said. You felt your heart sinking. “Well, if we’ll be still alive, of course,” he added, joking. You didn’t laugh, though.

“There’s nothing such as an us, Druig,” you said, harshly. “We tried, we failed. There’s nothing to discuss about”.

“Maybe we should slow down. Last time… we just burned each other, because we had finally let us be happy. It was too much all at once,” he said.

“Funny how you used the word burn with me”.

“I did it on purpose,” he said with a wink.  

“Very funny”.

“Is that sarcasm, my love?”

“Don’t call me like that,” you said, standing up. He mirrored you.

“You were the one to go away, but when you saw me again, you were desperate, Y/N,” he said, almost with anger.

“Did you read my mind again?”

“I didn’t have to,” he replied. “Look, I know what Ikaris said to you and what we seem to you, but it doesn’t have to be like that. Just give us another chance, after everything. After we’ll be free again. Maybe things will work out, this time”.

“I don’t know, Druig…”

Sometimes, I just think you should turn this fire off, not light it up.

“Say it out loud next time, lovely,” he said, with a smile. “Y/N, this is a sign. The fire is just a manifestation of your mind, you know that, right? Your mind and body are connected by the fire”.

“That’s why you’re the only one that can stop it from exploding,” you murmured, finally realizing.

He smiled at you.

“So it seems,” he said. “If it’s still there, even after all these years, it means something. It’s worth fighting for. I believe in us. Please, tell me you do it too”.

You bit your lower lip, while looking at him. He squeezed your hand and the sense of warmness invaded your chest again. You smiled at him too.  

You weren’t sinking anymore.

setting: Vrozhondiya, a fictive, gigantic, early-18th-century-france/england/russia-inspired northern country. It has mountains, forests, many small villages, few big cities and a lot of snow in the winter and I mean a lot of it. Mainly takes place in Cantaville, the truly splendid capital. Splendid in certain quarters, that is.

synopsis:

Zoyka Abraxis is the cleverest girl in Cantaville, maybe even the whole world, and she knows it. She is also excessively pretty and rather well-to-do and has absolutely no desire to come of age and get married the following year. This winter is her last season of freedom and she’s going to enjoy it. Or she would, if life wasn’t so horribly boring.

There are, of course, the twelve ministers that may or may not have overthrown the king, hidden away his infant son and are now apparently exploiting everyone who’s opposing them, poor or not a human. Then the student uprising that could very well lead to a revolution and whose leader is possibly a young lord (how ironic), or the state composer difficulties, but all these things belong into politics and why should she care about politics? Besides, she has her best friend Philip who works for the government and tells her all the latest political gossip, albeit reluctantly so.

Everything changes when, at the first ball of the season, the Minister of Military is murdered, stabbed with one of Zoyka’s hat pins of all things. The entirety of the high society agrees that it is most inconsiderate and disgraceful to just pass away during a dance and embarrass your partner in such a way. But when more and more ministers are killed, Zoyka decides to take matters into her own hands and find the killer, the leader of the revolution, the king’s mysterious son and a new state composer all at once. Not necessarily to stop the murders or the revolution but to simply know the truth and end her boredom (the ministers deserve to die for all she cares). And her ability to read minds might actually be of real use for once.

1. How long have you been in the Ace Attorney fandom? I've been playing the games since around 2014 when Dual Destinies came out, but I've only been a part of the fandom within the past year or two.

2. What's your favorite aspect of the Narumayo ship? I think my favorite aspects are the "dorks in love" and "friends to lovers" tropes that are so prevalent in the ship. They've been by each others' side for so long and care about each other so much that they're the last to know that they're in love. It's really cute.

3. What is your favourite thing to draw/write? And are you working on anything at the moment? Writing within Maya's point of view is something I find myself going back to often. I can relate to many of the insecurities that she has as well as the self-doubt she experiences. Sometimes I delve a bit too deep into dark places in my memory to make better drama, and I have to take a break for a little while after that. It can make some of my work hard to re-read, but the payoff usually ends up being worth it.

I always have a handful of ideas on the backburner, just waiting for the motivation to arrive. I've been feeling a little bit inclined to work on a Christmas-themed fic I started back in November. Ironically, I'll have only worked on it in months other than the one Christmas actually takes place in.
