(Canonically he is a private person who hides behind anonymity (see: the Kira persona), so he probably shouldn't even be interested in a YouTube career.)

But let's pretend he does in this AU. I am almost certain that he would be involved in the side of YouTube that does political discourse. I'm hard-pressed to believe he would be left-leaning tho considering his conservative, authoritarian views on capital punishment and whatever else constitutes as "justice".

Tl;Dr he would be the type of moderate to right-wing commentator using voiceover narration over graphics to present his arguments on hot topic social issues of the week.

I have the headcanon that he would still be some kind of detective in this universe. It's just integral to his interests and career path.

But he'd also make an excellent storytime vlogger, considering his tendency to make shit up on the spot without blinking an eye. He may possibly do dessert hauls and reviews on the side.

(he'd just keep his real life job details separate from his online presence. In fact his online persona will be a deliberate misdirection to hide his true intellect.)

Misa

In canon she is a self-made model, teen idol, and later actress. And honestly with the popularity of internet models and celebrities in this day and age it's not too unrealistic to reimagine her as an internet socialite.

Consider also the fact that she made the Kira tapes herself. She must possess the skills to do self-taught video editing work.

She would be a lifestyle and beauty blogger, maybe even an Instagram model, with cutesy hipstery editing styles.

Examples: Zoella, Gigi Gorgeous; Ash Hardell's visual style

Matsuda, Sayu, Kyoko

Minor characters, I know, but they seem to be the type that are unabashedly excited to be a fan of something. (Matsuda certainly never curbed his enthusiasm for Misa-Misa's successes, and Sayu is open about her support for Hideki Ryuga.)

Ergo, they're the type of vlogger that openly embrace their branding as fangirls and fanboys of certain TV shows, idols and boy bands, etc. And they engage in fandom activity and discussions.

Examples: early Tyler Oakley, early Dan Howell

Near

Toy unboxing and review videos. Possibly time lapse videos of him constructing his own models, and vlogs about his customised / DIY figurines etc.

Matt

Let'sPlayer with high production values. Memes and sarcasm.

disclaimer: some of the YouTubers I've listed here I'm actually quite vehemently against. The thought of L being anything like younger Alex Day makes me barf. But I'm not blind to the fact that he would make a pretty horrible person to know IRL.
