All your boast of religion and knowledge in the letter will not bring you to God, without the Light of Christ, nor can anyone that is in ignorance come to know the way to Life but by the Light of the world, and until man be led thereby he cannot come out of his darkness; even with that Light that reproves the world and manifests your evil deeds must he be led.
James Nayler, The Light of Christ & the Word of Life Cleared from the Deceits of the Deceiver, and His Literal Weapons Turned upon His Own Head (1656).

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I figured I’d create this. A bit of background about myself.
Raised protestant, specifically baptist, for a while. As I interrogated myself about my faith more, I’d come to a few realizations:
I’m fairly convinced that God does not act directly via miraculous intervention, but he does act through people. Through us. Whether we call to him or not, he seeks to do good through us. This didn’t gel with the more charismatic way God’s actions are framed in the Baptist context.
Then, I came to realize that I had trouble with vocal prayer. In Matthew, did the Lord not command us to pray with intent, and not just dryly reciting the same prayer over and over? I became more comfortable with silent, internal reflection - sitting and pondering the nature of my faith and of my relationship with God.
I’ve come to dislike, especially, how many of our Brothers, Sisters and Siblings in Christ seem to use their faith less as a way to guide themselves to rightness, but more to chide others from percieved wrongness. They use the word of god not as a beacon and a light, but as a cudgel. It seemed to imply to me that there was more to His word than just the pages alone.
Then I started reading George Fox this easter. I’ve studied the history of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and the English Reformation, and as easter came, I’d wondered what he had to say. And on the pages I found a lot of my own thoughts staring back at me, though I’d never read Fox before.
I’d had a lot of preconcieved notions about what a Quaker is, the idea that it was a Specific Set of Things You Agreed With. Of course, I’m now seeing that’s a lot more of a projection from the other sects - This is what has led me to become a Friend - To find salvation you do not need to rattle off a litany of specific, narrow conceptions of God.
For God is larger than anything any of us can ever know. His designs of love and kindness are more than we can come to by any ritual, or series of words.
So, in so many words - hello, Friends. I am proud to be entering your company.

Just a hypothical, had lucifer's creation process/birth failed how would things have turned out?
Tumblr media
this is interesting to me as an idea because i mentioned it before, but there appears to be a noticeable shift in god's demeanor between testament iii and testament iv. the first three testaments are bitter, angry, showing a god that is displeased by his creations and wishing ruin upon them, shifting the blame to be their failure of him when they cannot follow his law. he curses and damns them for their free will leading to disobedience and at most he admits that hell is now out of his control, though it comes with the implication that humanity has damned themselves to this eternal suffering as though they forced his hand. however, when we reach the fourth testament, which features lucifer's questioning and subsequent banishment, god now fully blames himself. he speaks of his guilt consuming him and how he weeps after lucifer's loss, which is. strikingly different from the previous entries. this tone carries into the following testament, where god is now in so much pain he's seeking to end his existence because he's unable to live with all he's done...so i have to wonder what lucifer meant to him. how did his concerns so alter god, a god that had been so furious with his creations now changed to be so consumed with regret he wished to die? i don't believe it was lucifer alone - god's soft "...And now I can no longer unmake it" I think represents the start of his change and lucifer represents the end of those internal thoughts being manifested. lucifer came as his conscious, verbalizing what he could not face and sending him collapsing inward. god had made lucifer as the heavenly accuser and now he had accused him. what could god say to him? what could he say to himself? lucifer was the only angel willing to voice these thoughts, and god knew there was no one else left to blame. i can't say for sure what would have changed, but just based on these testaments i wonder if god ever would have come to blame himself....or if his pain would ultimately have been taken out on the whole of creation instead.

“this is isolation without interiority, solitude leeched of its inner dimension, loneliness without redress. it leaves you with no one to turn to, including yourself. the ‘self’ in ‘self-isolate’ is therefore a decoy.”

i am going to wind up on team #justiceforarmand but it's going to be so situational. justice for armand specifically during the period of time louis is all "oooh who needs labels." a very different kind of justice for armand on matters pertaining to claudia.
#usually i would be like 70 years???#that's just your husband. sit in your choices as u might say#obsessing over your first love isn't going to change anything about what you decided to do and who you decided to do it with#but in light of claudia i'm forced to be like hm. well if you just wanted to torment him by dangling yourself in front of him for decades#that would be valid. like you should probably do more and worse but the time for that was before he did the atrocities to your child#so. here we are!#press says iwtv#interview with the vampire#the thing is i love claudia in all mediums she's my girl#but this version is so vulnerable and actually desperate for louis to see her and choose her#whereas while that's not absent from book!claudia she is notably higher on both louis and lestat's list of priorities#and i think more of a player. not that show!claudia isn't shooting her shot but u would never catch book claudia joining the bad news cult#because she's that desperate to be loved#book!lestat genuinely wanted her to stop being mad at him for cursing her to exist in the way they do and go back to playing happy families#evil of my evil etc#louis is sick of their mutual misery but armand really had to fuck with his head to bring the madeline situation about#also i am faintly annoyed that we don't see her souring on the possibility of making friends within the coven more directly#like did she conclude they'd turned too inward to be friends the moment she got that dress?#anyway. regardless. does she not deserve love? and mass murder?

It was a shame that the ‘games’ of last night had been disrupted by what seemed to be a familiar emergency, but it seems that even past those hours her mind still lingers upon Akira as Akira’s was on Noah. With each other’s face burned into each other’s thoughts..he wonder if she had the urge to kiss him as he does to kiss her.

Thinking about A Square being returned wrong. Mirrored. Irreversible
A Sphere fucks up, and puts him down in the wrong direction, wrong side up. It's not like he remembers, but A Square certainly does. When he wakes up- it's too late.
The third dimension never phased him, but what about something so intrinsic as your own body, flipped the wrong way? The world becoming upside-down, having to relearn to navigate the places you called home. And it's such obvious proof of the third dimension, but what if it's all in your head? No one can tell with your features being confined to a corner, you can only try to explain the distress you're going through, but if you try you'll certainly be deemed a madman.
We know his knowledge changed him, but what if it changed him physically? In a way he can never return from? He could've passed it off as the strangest dream, denied it's truth, lived the rest of his life at peace, but how do you disprove something so concrete? Would he think himself insane too, after a while?
Someone let me access a two-dimensional being i have a hypothesis that needs to be tested

I did figure out the necessary inevitable narrative tone of distant station's conclusion and I'm sad about it. not because it's a sad ending but because it's sort of just flatly true on a meta-level. see you in two years when I write it tho

“Faith is the opening of an inward eye, the eyes of the heart, to be filled with the presence of the Divine Light.”
