Are you okay with sesshomaru and rin ship? ( Which is canon btw).

Let me ask you this: Are you aware of the period that happened in? I mean, if you are an Inufan, you would. It’s obvious as it’s stated several times throughout the series. And are you also aware of the time the two spent together and Sesshomaru never laid a hand on her during the main saga? In fact, the main series ends with the two never showing any romantic interest in one another.

I haven’t been into Inuyasha in ages, but I am also aware of the norms of feudal Japan, as I am with several periods throughout history and their view of women and relationships. I also know Sesshomaru has an issue with humans that he’s slowly getting over so I think if he did get with Rin, it wasn’t until she was considered a woman of that time, not the child we see in the original series. I also saw a screenshot of when she gave birth to twins and that does not look like a kid.

I have a thought process: If the norms time when it happened allowed it, I am more willing to accept it. If it happened today, someone’s getting castrated. But this is also a fictional series dealing with demons, sacred jewel shards, and tangible reincarnation so it really doesn’t matter.

Does it mean the norms were right? No, but it was what everyone was taught back then and there weren’t many who were against it until a couple of generations had passed and change started to take hold.

In this case, though, how can Inu/Kagome be okay? Inuyasha is a half a century older than Kagome when they meet but they’re automatically paired together and that’s okay? ‘Inuyasha was 16 when he-’ yeah, but now technically he’s not. Where does the line stop? You’re going to paint yourself into a corner at this rate.
