Came across your Harry Potter alternative for adults. Do you you have any recommendations for kids?
The Bartimaeus sequence would be ok for older kids. There isn't much with the same potential for fandom. A lot of YA series are shorter and less well developed because publishers just wanted to blast them onto the market and get some of that sweet JKR money. That's why you get so many crappy cash grabs that devolve into brain melting nonsense after 2-3 books like the Michael Vey series, Gone, Maze Runner, and Lorien Legacies.
Here are some short series that aren't much like Harry Potter but that I liked as a kid around the same time I liked Harry Potter:
Percy Jackson (obviously. If any YA series could take on Harry Potter in terms of scope and fandom it's probably this one. Kid with ADHD discovers he's actually a demi-god and has to go on adventures and battle monsters. The series racks up a hugely diverse cast over time.)
Airborn (alternate history with airships and lots of steampunk adventuring, made me more interested in engineering and zoology, and the series has a satisfying ending.) Airman (just a single book sadly, which I liked even after I'd outgrown the Artemis Fowl books and gotten annoyed by them. Young kids might prefer Artemis Fowl.)
LionBoy (All I remember is t's about a kid who has asthma and can talk to lions, but I liked it a lot in middle school.)
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld (similar vibes to Airborn but it's set in an alternate history of WW1, the books also have some truly awesome illustrations)
The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima (high fantasy so it's no Harry Potter, but the main character is an urchin who becomes a wizard, so...) Her urban fantasy series The Warrior Heir is also good but pretty much revolves around human trafficking and an ancient blood feud.
Pendragon (eh... this one is borderline cash grab while still being fun. It's a good series overall but the conclusion is a little eh. Local high school boy discovers he can travel to alternate realities and is destined to fight a very evil villain who I always thought was cooler than Voldemort)
Inkheart (a personal fave I first read at 12 and still like to re-read at 30. Magic system is a little whack but the story does a great job of presenting truly evil villains through a lens of childhood.) Funke also has the new ongoing series, Mirrorworld, about a guy who travels through mirrors into a fairytale world, but that one's a little more mature.
The Knife of Never Letting Go (sci-fi, kind of like a cooler Avatar. Don't watch the movie. Very creatively written book with serious themes of imperialism, fascism, and misogyny—but in a way that kids can enjoy.)
Ranger's Apprentice (another kind of eh one in retrospect. Good for younger kids. Has some great characters but does devolve into a bit of a cash grab in later books. Harshest criticism is that the characters drink an unreasonable amount of coffee.)
I'll end on
City of Masks by Mary Hoffman (this one is a hidden gem. Urban fantasy but it's weirdly obsessed with Italian City-States. Long-ish series with a diverse cast and great recurring characters. It favors political intrigue over the magic system. Book 1 has themes of struggling with terminal illness and loss, but each book in the series introduces a new main character with a new personal struggle to overcome.)

So... I was checking some free stuff given away and among a bunch of old VHS there was this tape:
Tumblr media
I did not take it, because A) I do not have a working VHS player at home and B) The movie is actually fully disponible on the Internet for free. But it got me intrigued and so I decided to talk briefly about this Donkey Skin movie - which is obviously not the great 1970 classic by Jacques Demy, but rather a 1997 French animated movie...
The VHS above was for the movie's "solo" release, but it got a different release under the label "Mes plus beaux contes", a whole series of fairytale VHS apparently:
Tumblr media
Let's begin with a bit of context...
This movie was apparently the result of a collaboration between Claude Allix and Vladimir Gontcharov. The scenario was written by Sébastien Viaud, the music composed by Gil Slavin, and the producers included Eric Bayle, Roch Lener and Victor Slepstove. The production companies involved included Polygram Video, Mathares and Borsifen.
And... that's it. That's all I could find. Nothing more, nothing less.
Well, except for one detail: while this movie is presented as... well as a movie, some websites list it as a two-episodes mini-series, each episode being 26 minutes long. I watched it for free on Youtube, where it is presented as a 50 minutes long movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let me start by saying: Gosh this movie looks horrible!
As in... the animation is very rough. But especially the designs... By the devil, the designs are awful! Just look at the Lilac Fairy - they tried to shape her hair like a lilac flower, okay... But it doesn't work AT ALL. The worst offenders however are the dresses. The three magical dresses, meant to be the pinnacle of beauty in the tale... LOOK AT HOW GOSH AWFUL AND IDIOTIC they are! We said "Color of the moon", not "Shaped like the moon". We said "Color of the sun", not "with spikes coming out everywhere to imitate sun-rays". And the villainess' collar just keeps getting bigger and bigger until it becomes so ridiculous... Oh yes, and the guards ALL HAVE THE SAME FACE. They literaly reused the same model for all the knights and guards throughout the movie...
I know that after Jacques Demy's Peau d'âne, every adaptation of Donkeyskin in France will have a hard time challenging the classic... But I don't know if these people didn't put enough effort, or actually tried way too hard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, in term of story, the interesting thing is that they decided to expand upon the original tale. Most notably, they introduce a new villain character, with a concept a tad similar to the one of queen Elspeth from The Fairest of them All.
The entire first segment of the movie is about the "background" of the tale. We begin with the wedding of the king of the realm of Azurie to his wife (Peau d'âne's mother - the princess is named here Ariadne, because "Arianne" rhyme with "âne" in French). We also have a brief introductory song which recaps the entire story... There's quie a missed opportunity because a whole segment of the song is asking "Why are you hiding, Donkey-skin? Why are you disguising yourself Donkey-skin? Who are you, Donkey-skin?" which could have been a strong idea of plot-angle, exploring the identity of Donkeyskin as a mystery to be solved... Except the verses right before this part of the song explicitely detail who she is and why she fled.
As the wedding unfolds, we have a very clever scene introducing the magical donkey - a present sent by mysterious friends of the king, and which stands out like a sore thumb among the treasures and jewels the fher frelieves it is a grave insult - before his queent believes it is a grave insult - before his queen calms him down and convinces him to trust their friend (for good reason, since they later discover the donkey's magical properties). The villain added to the story is the king's cousin, a power-hungry duchess named Malicia, and who is quite pissed off at seeing the new queen - because she herself wanted to and attempt to be the new queen of Azurie. As she leaves the castle, a mysterious sorcerer named Balthazar the Necromancer appears and briefly turns her carriage into stone to prove his powers. He says he came here to answer Malicia's wishes and desires - and he offers her to learn witchcraft, so that she can overtake Azurie... And in exchange, the price to pay will be that she abandons all her belongings and exile herself from Azurie to undergo a long journey fo fifteen years.
What will she do during this journey? We don't know! It is a mysterious "initiation journey" But she returns fifteen years later to the kingdom to enact her devious plan. As for Balthazar the Necromancer... Every time Malicia uses her crystal ball to cast a spell, Balthazar's face appears to give her various compliments or warnings. And that's it... a sort of manifestation of the recurring habit of having the Magic Mirror of Snow-White act as a semi-companion/warning-deliverer to the Evil Queen. I compared Malicia to Elspeth but I could also compare her relationship to Balthazar to the evil queen's relationship to her mirror in the "Mirror, mirror" movie. In fact, Malicia seems very obviously inspired by Disney's Evil Queen... It makes you wonder why Balthazar was introduced as his own character before being reduced to an info-dropping disembodied face... Anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malicia is presented as the supernatural cause of the events that start the story - which is a quite interesting and solid move when you need to tackle Donkey-skin for children. The death of the queen is due to Malicia's hatred of the happiness and wealth of the royal family, and her ambition. She casts a curse that causes the deadly sickness, and then tries to convince the king to marry her. But when the king refuses by blatantly saying he promised his wife to marry a woman more virtuous and more beautiful than her, and that Malicia is not more virtuous nor more beautiful than the late queen... Let's just say Malicia is quite pissed off, and she decides to have him be dethroned by causing a second curse - the one that will create an incestuous desire of the father for the daughter. Balthazar warns her that such a curse will break if the princess ever ends up knowing true love - to which Malicia replies she will just have to make sure the princess will be forced to marry her father and never escape him...
I have to say, while the animation is garbage, the ideas and concept of the story are very interesting. The scene of Malicia casting the curse onto the queen is truly chilling, as you see the blue mist she conjures up slowly wither the flowers of the garden before crawling up to the queen's bedroom and entering her body... And I like how Malicia's incantations use elemental motifs matching her curses: she invokes the "spirits of the air" to cause a "deadly breath", a cursed wind that will "dry up" the queen ; while to "inflame" the king's passion for his daughter she calls upon the "spirits of fire" to cause an incestuous desire that nothing "shall extinguish". There is also a whole warning in the beginning about black magic needing the user to have an absolute control over their emotions - foreshadowing Malicia's downfall. At the end of the movie, when Donkey-skin/Ariadne is happily married and her true love break the curses, Malicia is so enraged she tries to cast a curse on her, despite Balthazar's warnings that she need to stay calm, and that she cannot fight true love which is the most powerful magic of them all... However she does not listen and the curse backfires on her, making her disappear forever... Again, this is all very Snow White's Evil Queen-inspired.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not going to make a full breakdown of the movie - the rest of the story is pretty much the same as the original tale but with the characters slightly exaggerated and more prominent (such as the peasant woman and her son who use - and frankly abuse - Donkey skin when she stays around ; there's also the comical character of the prince's personal assistant who is always finding an occassion to "taste wine" whenever he has something to do). There's a lot of visual nods to classic illustrations - for example the goat-pulled chariot the princess use to visit her godmother, while seeming straight out of Norse mythology, is actually a reference to the illustrations of Gustave Doré where the princess use a similar chariot ; and the king's chambellan is made to look like Riquet with the tuft.
So yeah... In conclusion I would say it has good intentions, some good ideas and some moments that do work - but it stays a very rough, very dated product that needs one to take some effort to get into it... and is definitively NOT a masterpiece. But a valuable effort, it must be recognized.

Lifetime of Love
Pairing: Suga x Reader
Genre/Warnings: NSFW, Overstimulation, Mythology AU, Demi-God!Suga
Prompt: Mythology
Summary: As the son of Aphrodite, Suga knows more than most when it comes to beauty and love. But knowledge and experience are two very different things. OR Suga finds true love.
A/N: This is my contribution for the HQHQ NSFW collaboration. There are so many talented writers on the server and I highly encourage you to check out the collaboration masterlist here to see how everyone decided to run with this prompt. As always, thanks for beta-ing @sawamooora
Being the son of Aphrodite has its perks. Even as just a demi-god, Suga is borderline ethereal, naturally drawing men and women to him with his dazzling silver hair, enthralling hazel-brown eyes, and coquettish charm. It’s effortless, the way he wakes up looking just as radiant as ever, the way his hair is naturally shaped and styled even after tossing and turning in bed. Clothing is just a technicality, just fabric he wears to not risk indecent exposure. Why waste time and effort thinking of putting an outfit together when he could wear a burlap sack and still have admirers flock to him?
It’s not a bad life and he knows others stare at him with envy, wondering what it’s like to be so beautiful, so loved, so wanted, so desired. Never an off day. Never a hair out of place. And truth be told, maybe more of his mother runs in him than he likes to admit, if the swell of pride and satisfaction he gets from having everything in life handed to him on a silver platter is anything to go by.
Life is easier for beautiful people. It’s a hard pill to swallow for the masses, but a reality that Suga has no qualms taking advantage of. After all, he might as well get some benefit from being a goddess's son, even if his mother and him don’t always see eye to eye.
Suga can appreciate beauty and love. Aphrodite has taught him to have an eye for the finer things in life. He’s not stubborn enough to deny that he enjoys waking up entangled in silk and satin sheets, surrounded by a beautifully decorated apartment, to reject the ecstasy he feels when he has one or more playmates in his bed.
But love of the flesh is different than love of the heart, and he wonders, despite how blasphemous it is to question a deity, if his mother truly understands what love is.
Aphrodite’s love is a seemingly fleeting and fickle thing, a fire that blazes bright and strong, only to burn out just as quickly as it had risen. And he judgmentally watches as she bounces from man to God to man to God again and again, grimacing whenever he meets his “family”, knowing how she’s slept with most of the other gods in Olympus.
He has no doubt that in her own way, she truly has loved each entity she’s slept with. But he wants something different, something less promiscuous, something less shallow. He wants true love, a love rooted in something much deeper than superficial appearances, a love rooted in a connection of souls, a love rooted in the bond of two people truly seeing and knowing each other’s flaws and strengths, yet still determinedly pursuing each other.
So he steadfastly continues on, searching for the one.
There’s no end to the line of people who practically throw themselves at his feet, desperate for a chance to catch his attention. He goes on endless dates, entering and leaving countless relationships. Some attempts are longer than others. Some partners have hope churning inside of him, have hazel-brown eyes sparkling in interest. But in the end, they’re all the same and the flutters of his heart become anchors of disgust inside of him when he sees their leering eyes, the lust driving their actions, the way they never see past his handsome face and attractive body.
No one sees Sugawara Koushi. They only see the body of a man literally blessed by the gods.
Maybe it was naive of him to believe that he knew more about love than the goddess of love herself. Maybe sleeping around with other attractive bodies is all his life will amount to, can amount to. And as he watches the people around him break-up, divorce, chase after some happy ending that seems more and more unattainable, he gives up his rose-colored dream of a fairytale romance.
But life has a funny way of dropping something in your lap just when you’ve given up all hope.
Aphrodite had not been amused when Suga had told her he was going to be a teacher at a local elementary school in the countryside. Children and parental instincts have never been her forte, and he remembers the long winding back and forths they had as she implored for him to rethink his decisions, flaunting modeling and acting opportunities in his face, anything to have his handsome face plastered on televisions and magazines.
But he had remained steadfast in his decision and she had finally relented, shaking her head and letting him know that she’d be ready to help him when he’s done wasting his gifts and time.
“You’re only part-god, Koushi. Your beauty will only last so long.”
He knows there’s no malice behind the words. It’s just a cold hard fact, a reminder. And he simply nods in response, secretly wondering if that would be so bad, letting age take its toll and put him on the same playing field as the rest of the world.
But he has years before he crosses that bridge and he dedicates himself to finding fulfillment in life by caring for and teaching the children in his class. A megawatt smile spreads across his face as he watch them play and excitedly call his name, politely ignoring his fellow teachers who parade themselves in front of him for an ounce of his attention, never entertaining the married mothers of his students who try to lavish him with unnecessarily exuberant gifts and woo him with fluttering lashes.
It’s a tiring never-ending dance, so when he hears about the arrival of a new female colleague, he internally sighs, no doubt in his mind that you’ll be just like the rest. So imagine his surprise when you just casually smile at him when you’re introduced, no interest in your eyes, no lingering gaze, before turning your attention away from him without a second glance back.
He wonders if it’s a fluke, hopes and prays that it isn’t. It’s almost comical, complete insanity, how his heart races, his eyes blow wide, just from your sheer nonchalance. And for the first time, it’s Suga who’s left wistfully staring as his eyes trail after your figure even long after you’ve turned the corner of the hallway.
He’s seen his mother’s work, seen the way humans pursue their love interests with almost fanatical effort. But he had never understood, not until now.
It’s an intoxicating feeling, addictive, the thrill of the chase energizing him in a way he’s never felt before. It’s hard, meticulous work finding reasons to visit your classroom, finding ways to weave himself in conversations you’re a part of. But it’s always worth it when he sees the genuine fondness in your eyes, the way you look and really see him, the way you care about the man underneath the shiny facade, in a way no one ever has before.
And when the two of you go out for a friendly lunch one day, when you order his favorite dish that he’s only briefly mentioned to you once in passing, without even missing a beat, his heart stops. It’s something no other partner has bothered even taking note of, too busy trying to impress him with high-end meals and fine dining. And just like that, he blurts out his confession, heart hammering, fingers nervously twitching as he awaits your response.
For many years to come, the two of you will debate whether or not that lunch counts as your official first date as a couple.
Dating you is everything he’s dreamed of and more. And for once, Suga feels like just another regular man, a normal human being as he holds your hand in his, giggling and sharing stories, feeding each other bites of food, lazing around on his sofa watching TV.
But as a romance movie runs in the background and the main couple kisses after the male lead raves about how stunning his lover is, he turns his attention to you, curiosity nagging at him, a tiny tendril of lingering fear squirming inside of him.
“What do you like about me?”
There’s silence as you owlishly blink and look up at him, surprise and confusion flitting across your face as you try and process where this question is coming from. But when you see the worry, doubt, and insecurity muddling your boyfriend’s eyes, you interlace your fingers with his and cuddle into his side, resting your head on his shoulder as you continue gazing at him.
“I like the way you always insist on getting the highest spice level at every Chinese restaurant we go to that serves mapo tofu, even though you complain about your mouth burning all night long afterwards.”
Suga chuckles, unable to deny the truth of those words.
“I like the way you act like a clueless angel even when you’re wreaking havoc and chaos, you big trouble maker.”
This time Suga does try to plead innocence, although all he can do is sheepishly grin when you start listing off event after event of mischief he had instigated and encouraged, much to Daichi’s and Asahi’s dismay.
“I like how patient and gentle you are with your students and your old underclassmen. I like the way you nurture them, mentor them, encourage them to keep on going, keep on trying even when the going gets tough. And I like how you instill that belief in your own life. If we have children of our own one day, I know you’ll be the father I’ve always wanted for my future kids.”
The weight of your last sentence hangs heavy in the air, the meaning, the hope of a lifetime promise has Suga’s jaw dropping. But when you shyly look away, nervously biting your lip as he just dumbly stares at you, he jolts back to reality and you yelp as lips suddenly crash against yours.
Sex with Suga is always sweet, with a hint of spice when your lover is feeling particularly mischievous. But it’s never been like this, full of desperation, untamed desire, a want so deep that it leaves both your minds in a hazy disarray. You gasp as you’re firmly pushed down, until your back hits the couch and you’re moaning into the mouth pressed against yours, your tongues tangling with each other in an attempt to taste every crevice.
The wet sounds of your lips connecting and disconnecting over and over again, the frantic sounds of fabric being rustled and tossed off, they all mix in a passionate symphony punctuated by breathy declarations of love, by whimpered names.
You throw your head back as a hot wet mouth sensually carves a path down the column of your neck, to the delicate swoop of your collarbone, sighing in bliss as they end in the valley of your breasts, two hands gently tweaking and rolling your nipples. And then fingers are replaced with a tongue, with lips, and your back arches, body writhing, seeking more, more, more as you wildly grind against your lover’s body.
Usually Suga likes to take his time with you, unwrap you piece by piece, unravel the strings that tie you together, coax the prettiest sounds out of you. But today something more carnal, more desperate, more raw spurs him on, and he feels more beast than man as he devours you, plunders you, marks you as his for all eternity.
“Koushi!”
You wail as he wastes no time in quickly snapping his hips, filling your slick walls with his cock. There’s an urgency behind his pace you’ve never felt before and you dig your nails into his shoulders, eyes rolling back in your head, lewd moans echoing in the room as you wrap one leg around his back, the other dangling off the couch.
You’re not sure exactly what the trigger had been for this, but you’re not complaining, pussy walls only clamping down even more when you see the feral hunger in his eyes, the drag of his cock against your insides even more pronounced.
He can feel your end approaching, sees it in the way your head tosses side to side, the way your eyes glaze over, and he brings a hand between your bodies, toying with your clit, circling it, rubbing it, never losing his rhythm as you begin to convulse, body thrashing, nails scratching his skin, a debauched version of his given name rolling of your tongue. Only when you begin to whimper, shaking hands trying to grasp his fingers still playing with your oversensitive nub does he relent, smiling down at you as you entwine your fingers with his as he continues to thrust in and out of you.
Suga’s been told he looks like an angel time and time again, but as he stares down at your completely ravaged and exhausted form, the way your chest heaves up and down, the sheen of sweat on your skin, the after tremors of your body, the duality of how you cling onto his hand despite your wanton state, he thinks you’re the true angel here. Maybe a fallen angel, but an angel nonetheless and he can feel his balls tighten, the last shreds of his endurance ripping apart at the seams as he takes in your breathtaking appearance.
But he needs more than that, needs you, needs you here and with him, and he meets your lips in a bruising kiss, a silent demand for your attention, adjusting his hands until your fingers are interlocked on either side of your head.
“Look at me.”
He patiently waits, peppering your face with butterfly kisses, slowing down the rocking of his hips. You’re so tired, heavy eyelids wanting nothing more than to close, but you’re still in a rocky ocean of pleasure, body still registering and reacting to every touch, every move. And when his soft voice makes its way through the fog, you know you need to listen, you want to listen. So you turn your eyes until they lock with hazel-brown, a weak smile plastered across your face when you see the love and affection pouring down onto you.
“I love you.”
Both of you grin as the three words unanimously exit your mouths, but the smile is wiped off your face as he resumes his pace, tempo beginning to stutter, his own head being thrown back in ecstasy as he approaches his end. Your overstimulated body is barely hanging on by a thread, pathetic mewls dripping from your lips, and you keen when sticky spurts fill you, Suga’s cock buried balls deep inside of you as he breeds you, coating your quivering walls with his essence.
Suga gently lowers his body on yours, capturing your mouth in another kiss, one much gentler as both of you catch your breaths, bodies feeling soft and pliant as post-coital bliss wraps around you like a fluffy blanket.
Beauty is a fleeting thing. His mother’s not wrong about that.
But love? Love isn’t nearly as fickle as beauty, he thinks, as he holds you in his arms. And he smiles, letting himself be lulled to sleep by your rhythmic breathing, dreaming of the long and full life still ahead for both of you.

A  GIFT  TO  A  SINGLE  MOTHER.  magdalene’s  mother  was  a  spiritual  woman,  eccentric  with  her  millions  of  bangles  and  head  to  toe  in  needle-poke  tattoos.  she  knew  from  the  beginning  she  wanted  to  be  a  mother,  but  refuse  to  have  a  man  involved  with  the  process.  after  many  attempts  through  a  donor,  and  nine  tedious  months  later,  magdalene  was  born  and  their  mother  couldn’t  have  been  more  ecstatic.
THE  TWO  LIVED  in  a  tiny  apartment  flat,  full  of  art  and  literature  for  maggie  to  consume  at  a  young  age.  parties  were  held  every  other  weekend  with  their  mother’s  ‘work  friends’  sipping  on  cheap  wine  and  listening  to  expensive  vinyls.  magdalene  was  treated  as  an  adult  as  soon  as  they  could  walk  around,  each  friend  was  always  introduced  as  auntie  or  uncle.  by  the  end  of  each  night,  magdalene  would  managed  the  entire  group  around  to  watch  her  pull  a  full  dance  recital  she  had  been  working  on  the  entire  night.
FOR  MAGGIE’S  SIXTH  BIRTHDAY,  a  present  came  in  the  form  of  dance  classes.  a  summer  holiday  spent  with  her  aunt  victoria  (  no  relation,  but  one  of  their  mother’s  many  friends  )  doing  ballet  classes.  a  dream  come  true  for  a  child  to  be  like  a  princess;  with  light,  giddy  steps,  magdalene  happily  drowned  in  the  sound  of  classical  music  as  they  twirled  along  with  other  girls  who  dreamed  of  being  a  princess  ballerina.
IT  WAS  AS  IF  THE  WORLD  AROUND  BECAME  CLEARER,  maggie  couldn’t  find  focus  unless  they  matched  their  steps  to  the  sound  of  tchaikovsky.  they  begged  for  more  lessons,  and  with  the  money  their  mother  could  scrape  together,  managed  to  pay  for  more  time  with  victoria.  besides  the  raging  passion  in  such  a  tiny  body,  victoria  could  see  that  magdalene  had  genuine  talent  ━━  the  kind  she  did  her  best  to  explain  to  their  mother.  something  so  cut - throat  and  vapid,  magdalene’s  mother  deep  down  hoped  it  was  a  mere  phase
MAGDALENE  WAS  NEVER  THE  KIND  TO  LIE,  the  fear  of  some  monster  that  would  come  and  eat  her  up  (  blame  the  active  imagination,  and  their  mother’s  brilliant  storytelling  ability  )  caused  hair  to  sit  up.  but  victoria  wanted  the  world  to  see  her  niece  succeed.  it  was  victoria’s  idea  to  audition,  but  magdalene’s  determination  that  saw  it  through.  amongst  a  sea  of  dancers,  the  anxiety  that  held  the  dancer  by  a  chokehold  was  entirely  gone  by  the  time  they  stepped  on  stage  ━━  it  couldn’t  be  seen  besides  the  nasty  glint  in  their  own  reflection.
FURIOUS  WAS  AN  UNDERSTATEMENT,  magdalene  had  never  seen  their  mother  so  vicious  before.  sitting  on  the  couch,  they  didn’t  felt  entirely  there.  a  walking  ghost  only  to  materialise  on  stage.  nights  of  arguing,  pleaing,  explaining  the  desperation  of  wanting  to  pursue  to  dance.  magdalene’s  mother  finally  gave  in,  how  could  she  deny  a  child’s  right  to  dream  ?
A  SUNFLOWER  IN  A  SEA  OF  ROSES,  there’s  a  nervous  excitement  to  train  at  the  company.  waking  up  early  to  catch  the  train  to  the  centre  of  london,  magdalene  traded  in  her  soul  to  be  able  to  attend  ━━   a  worthy  deal  in  their  naive  eyes.  dressed  in  second  hand  gear  and  worn  shoes,  magdalene  did  their  best  to  ignore  judgements  and  whispers.  life  was  cruel,  but  kids  could  truly  be  crueller.
DEVELOP  A  HUNGER  THAT’S  NEVER  BEEN  FELT  BEFORE.  the  kind  that  isn’t  savoured  until  mags  can  feel  seen  on  stage.  teenhood  is  overwhelmed  with  a  part  time  job  to  survive  with  the  incessant  needs  for  new  shoes  and  leotards.  she  can’t  help  but  notice  the  expensive  labels,  the  shine  that  came  with  such  lavish  gear  with  the  privilege  of  rich  parents  and  there’s  a  blossom  of  innate  disappointment  that  their  mother  rejected  these  ideas  (  lash  out  in  slowly  pushing  away,  your  heart  is  still  too  tender  to  sharply  cut  ties  ).  she  finally  learns  that  life  isn’t  all  rainbows,  but  with  a  tough  smile  and  tired  bones,  magdalene  does  her  best  to  prove  herself  to  the  world  ━━   because  if  they  can’t  accept  her,  how  could  she  do  it  herself  ?

Bows & Arrows - Changbin AU
Tumblr media
bandits have come to attack your kingdom and as the queen to be you have to take responsibility to lead your kingdom in the right direction. the only problem is that you have no idea what you are doing. thankful you met on demi-god who helped change your life for the better.
a/n: hello everyone so we are back again with a fairytale/fantasy AU. This was inspired by the Once Upon a Time episode with the one and only Hercules. So I hope you will enjoy this story :) // So when I made this it was like back in June and I didn’t know it would be finished in time for Changbin Birthday so,,, Happy Birthday Binnie Boy <3
word count: 3.8k
pairing: changbin x female reader
genre: fantasy au
“Princess Y/n what are you going to do about the bandits?” one townsman said. “We are getting attacked by them every day we can’t fight them all off,” another one said right after. It has only been a month since your father had to leave the kingdom for an important meeting. During that time it was just your stepmother and you dealing with the kingdom issues. Since he was gone a group of bandits came and started to steal from your village people. Since you are the next Queen it was your responsibility to handle the situation, with the help of your stepmother of course.
“I- My father-,” you stuttered out. “What my step-daughter is trying to say is that the king is concerned about issues and felt Princess Y/n in charge so she will be able to lead us to the right path correct,” your stepmother quickly step in. “The royal guards haven’t been able to catch those bandits yet? How are we supposed to trust you?” a townswoman said carrying her child.
Your heart broke, you wanted to help your kingdom but you did not have strong as your father when it comes to a situation like this. As a child, your mother helped you learn that leading your kingdom you have to have a strong heart to guide people to goodness. But now you were so sure anymore. Once the meeting was over you returned to your room. “Ugh, why does something like this has to happen when father is gone,” you closed the room to your door. Slowly but surely you got ready for bed and wanted to forget about the whole bandit's situation.
Waking up was very peaceful until everything went completely south. Villagers came back to the castle in rage as the bandits had returned and asked for money. Money that the villagers didn’t have. With that, you quickly got dressed and snuck out of the back castle door and into the forest you went. You just needed space away from your responsibilities and everything that was happening. You needed to escape for a few hours, that's all. While walking in the forest you were taking in everything, it has been a while since you were alone strolling in the woods you were taking advantage of this time.
As you were walking you heard a group of bandits coming your way. You ran as fast as you can to escape them but today was not your day. Soon you fall into a bandit trip that was about seven feet into the ground. You looked up at the world above you and as you wondering how in the world you were going to escape. “Help, someone please help me,” you screamed at the top of your lungs. A look of fear appeared on your face as you didn’t know who was in the forest at this time or if the bandits are going to find you.
You tried your best to climb out of the ditch but with the dress that you were wearing it was pointless. “Someone please, if anyone is out there please help me!” you yelled out again. You felt your back hit the side of the ditch and you slowly dropped down to the ground. And now here you were, alone in the forest stuck in a ditch. Tears begin to flow out of your eyes as you felt like no one was ever going to find you.
“Hello, is anyone here?’ you heard a voice from above. You quickly got up and started yelling to get there attention. “Grab onto this, I will lift you up,” a sword was lowered down, looking up you didn’t know who was up there or how a sword will support your weight. Soon your saw that your feet were being lifted off of the ground. Once you were back in the real world and not seven feet underground you got a better look at your knight in shining armor. But you were shocked to see that it wasn’t a knight. It was a young male wearing clothes that looked like he has been through a lot in his life. “Thank you so much umm,” you said fixing yourself. “Changbin,” he held his hand out for a handshake.
You smiled at him and returned the handshake “Y/N,”. “Well looking at that dress it looks like your a royal,” he said looking at your outfit. “And you look like you aren’t from here,” you smiled at him. Changbin chuckled at your response and you were uplifted “no I’m not, I’m traveling on a quest,”. “Oh, a quest how exciting better then the life I'm living” you walked up behind him interested in his life plus it was so much better than returning to the castle. Changbin looked at your facial expression, “something is on your mind, I’m all ears if you want to share?”.
“My father is out of the kingdom right now and as the future Queen, I have to fill in his shoes. A couple days after he left a group of bandits came and started to steal from villages so of course, I have to be the one who has to take care of everything”. You walked over to a giant rock and slowly started to lean back. “My mother taught me to rule with kindness in my heart but now having this whole issue,” you let out a soft sigh “it’s hard to figure out what’s right.''.
Soon you saw Changbin walking somewhere and you didn’t know if you should follow him or now. He grabbed his bag and dug deep into it finding medallions “You see all of these medallions? They are medals that I got after taking down monsters. I’m a demi-god so to get up to Mount Olympus I have to collect all my medals,”. What these quests have taught me is that you are always going to face challenges but once you overcome it you can conquer anything,.
“Wow so if you are a demi-god that means,” you asked in slight confusion. “My mother is a mortal and my father is a god,” he said smiling at you “to be reunited with my father again,”. “You must really miss him yeah?” you asked moving in closer to him. “Yeah, I haven’t seen him in years so it will be meaningful to see him again,”. “Wow I would give anything to see my mother again,” your voice started to crack as all of your memories started to roll in.
You then taught about how she was about to help so many by taking risks “teach me how you do it,”. You quickly grabbed Changbin’s hands and looked at him with your soft eyes. He saw how much you cared about your kingdom and how much you are willing to fight for what is right. Walking up to you and raised your head, he looked once again into your eyes “okay, I'll help you,”. With excitement flowing, you hugged him tightly. The action did shock him but he was glad to help you with this journey.
“Okay do I know you're going to maybe kill me but you can’t shoot a bow and arrow in a dress, we need to get some new clothes for you,” Changbin said after the hug. “Well I can’t go back to the palace if my step-mother sees me she will probably have me talk to the angry villagers again,”.  “Well, hmm maybe it’s time to visit an old friend,” Changbin said grabbing your hand and brought you deeper into the forest.
The walk there was interesting because you told Changbin so much. You don’t know why but you were just comfortable talking to him. He was different than everyone are the palace since they would either tell you what you wanted to hear or not talk to you at all. It was nice having someone to have a real conversation with. You now had a friend.
“Changbin, where are we going?” you asked unfamiliar with the area that you are in. “Since you can’t go into the village because of the whole bandit situation, I have a friend who should be able to help,” he said looking back at you. “Don’t be scared y/n, do you trust me?” he asked raising his eyebrow. Nodding your head a small smile grew on your face. There you arrived at a little cottage in the middle of the forest. Changbin knocked on the door and a blonde male who seems to be a couple years older than you.
“Chan, how are you my friend,” Changbin asked giving a bro hug. “I’m fine, how are you and you and the quest you been inquiring?” Chan asked opening the door wider for the two of you to enter. “So far so good I only how to do one more quest and I’ll be reunited with my father. Oh, by the way, this is Princess Y/N,” Changbin looked over at you. You waved at Changbin friend still in a state of confusion. “Hello, nice to meet you,” you extend your hand out for a handshake and Chan gladly return the favor. “Sames goes to you Princess what do we own the honor?” Chan asked.  “Y/n needs some weapons as well as a new outfit. I’m teaching her how to stick up to the bandits in her kingdom,” Changbin said setting his stuff onto a chair.
“Oh bandits sorry to hear about that,” Chan said grabbing cups and a kettle of hot water for tea. “It been rough but I’m ready to fight for my kingdom,” you said looking up at Chan and smiling. Soon a female walked into the main living area, she was shocked at the company but was excited. “Changbin you’re back,” she said running and hugging him. “Y/n, this is my little sister Hannah she is an amazing seamstress and will one hundred percent help you with making your outfits,” Chan introduced the two of you. “Come on y/n, I’ll take you upstairs and we can start your new outfit,” Hannah said grabbing your hand and taking you upstairs.
“I’m so sorry about the bandits in your kingdom, they must be causing you so much trouble,” Hannah said opening her closet door and taking our fabric. “It’s okay you guys didn’t know, you and your brother live very fair from my kingdom central,” sitting down on the bed. “Our parents actually live in the cental with our younger brother but due to Chan work he finds it easier to do his craftsmanship here then over there.” she walked over to you and sat down next to you “Which fabric do you like more?”.
An hour or so later Hannah walked downstairs to meet up again with the boys. “Introducing the new updated and freakin cool Princess Y/n,”. All eyes were on the stairs as you started to walk down. From your shoes to your hair everything was so different and outside of your element. When Changbin saw you his mouth dropped. Wearing ankle-high combat boots, dark pants, and a cream long sleeve shirt with a tan van on top. Your hair was braided to the side in a fishtail style with your baby hair loose upfront.
“Do I look okay?” you finally reach the bottom of the staircase not knowing what you are wearing. “I think you look great Y/n,” Chan stood up and walked over towards you “now for your newest weapons,”. He handed you a belt with danger and then a bow and arrow. “Woah,” your face lite up when you saw your new set of weapons. This was true new for you as you weren’t even sure how to hold a bow properly. “It’s getting late we should go and find camp for the night,” Changbin said gather his items. It was time to say goodbye and it was bittersweet. You promised that you would come to visit Chan and Hannah whenever you are in this part of the woods and the same goes to them when they were in the kingdom.
After walking for an hour or so you finally made your way to the riverside. “We can camp here for the night, I hope you are okay with it,” Changbin asked looking back at you. “Yeah it’s fine,” you were shocked at how well Changbin does on his own and how he survived in the wilderness. “Hey, Changbin, how did you get so good at this?” you questioned as you watched him set up a fire. “I have been doing this since I was 16 maybe 15, when you been fighting mythical creatures and living on your own you get used to this lifestyle,” he looked back at you and smiled. Smiling in return you the conversation about talking about life, soon you felt your eyelids getting heavy and slowly began to close them. Changbin notices and helps position you in a comfortable position on his lap.
The sounds of birds chirping and the gentle stream of light that was gleaming through the tree branches. You shifted your body and slowly got up to feel something holding you down. You felt the warmth on your hand and as you slowly looked and saw Changbin’s hand onto of yours. Letting out a small sigh not to wake Changbin up but that backfired. “Good morning princess,” Changbin said looking down at his lap to see you lying there “did you sleep well?”. Shifting yourself upwards and stretching your arms you felt a poke “hey what was that for,” you pushed him lightly away from you “and yes I did if that answers your question,”. “Good,” standing up and extending his arm out you grab it and he helped you up “come on your training begins today,”.
Following him away from the river and to an open field, you watch him take his bow and arrow and set it up properly for his demonstration. “To shoot an arrow one must have a sharp eye and strong focus, without it the bow will go in a direction you don’t want it to go,” he said pulling back the arrow and shooting it onto the stem of an oak tree. “Most people believe that shooting an arrow takes power but that isn’t true,”. You took in every in as you were focusing on his advice. “Okay your turn, somewhat you got,”.
Walking over next to him you were very nervous, you set your feet in a what you believe to be in the correct spot. One deep breath in and then out you it goes. You set your eye on the same one that Changbin hit. Eye close you pulled the arrow back and released it once your eyes opened. “Wow for a rookie you’re not too bad,” Changbin said walking up next to you. Smiling at him you processed to pull out another arrow and set it in your bow.
Training went on and Changbin could tell that you were basically a natural when it came to stuff like this. “Are you one hundred percent positive that you never held a bow and shoot an arrow in your life before?”. Looking bad at him you rolled your eyes, “Listen, I swear to you this is my first time doing something to this extent. But I'm really grateful that you are teaching me these skills,”. Um hey y/n so there is a festive in a neighboring kingdom, do you want to go tomorrow? With me? Like we can take a break from all this training and just, I don’t know how some fun?”/ Rubbing the back of his neck Changbin was nervous to look at you in the eye not knowing that your response was going to be. “I think that would be lovely Changbin,”. “Okay let’s work on your skills what that dagger,” he smiled at you. For the rest of the night, he taught you everything that you need to know how to handle a dagger.
The next morning the two of you woke up early to begin your journey to the neighboring kingdom. Yeah you know it might be a risk to be leaving your kingdom for the day but hey you been out of your castle for how many days now? What’s a couple more. “So you never told me what your final quest is?” asking as you two walked on the path to the next kingdom. “I actually don’t know what my last quest will be, I just I’ll found out when I do,”. “I hope everything works well in your favor, you have to come to visit me once in a while,” your hands slowly brushed up against his and slowly but surely your fingers started to intertwine with each out.
Looking down at your two hands a small blush started to appear on your face. This was new territory for you have you never had any romantic feelings for anyone before. Screams started to come for the west direction and you quickly ran to that direction. You arrive at one of the villages that were close to the borderline of your kingdom. “Bandits,” you said under your breath. The time was here you were finally going to do what your people wanted you to do in the beginning stand up to them.
“Enough! Get out of my kingdom or else you will pay,” you said loudly as you walked into the scene with changbin behind you. “Aw how cute the Princess finally came out to play,” the leader said walking over towards you. Stepping back in fear you reached for the dagger that was located on your belt. “Get one step closer to me and you’re going to get it,”  you quickly pulled out the dagger and lifted it in front of you. Your eyes were dead set on the bandit in front of you. “I wouldn’t touch her if I were you,” Changbin said with his bow and arrow at the ready. Deep breathe in and out you watch closely at your surroundings soon you quickly turned around and how your bow ready to strike and pointed at the Bandit who was snitching up behind you.
Seeing you stand up to the bandit make everyone in the village comfortable to stand up for themselves. A smile appeared on your face as you finally knew what it took to be a great queen and that you shouldn’t fear the danger that life has in store. “I’m going to say this again,” you looked at the bandits dead in their eyes “get out of my kingdom and never return,”.
The group of bandits started to look around and saw that they were outnumbered. There was no way that they were going to win at this rate. “Okay Princess, you win,” the Bandit in front of you dropped his weapons with the rest of them following his order. “Never return to our kingdom,” walking up to the leader and pointed your arrow-down. Within minutes that Bandit began to clear out of the kingdom and left never to be seen again.
Cheers roared in this tiny village as they were so excited that this nightmare was over. You ran into his arm for a giant hug. Everything felt like it was falling into place and you knew that you could go home. “Thank you so much Changbin, I have no idea how I could have done this without your help,” smiling at him. Changbin looked at you and moved a piece of your hair behind your ear.
“Princess,”  one of the village kids walked up to you holding onto the martingale “for your journey back to the castle we understand that it a long way so please for easier travels,”. Bowing and smiling at the kindness you held onto the martingale and slowly got up on the saddle. “I wish you could come back with me,” you looked down at changbin who was standing next to the horse holding your hand. “I promise that I’ll visit you but right now I have to be reunited with my father,” he squeezed your hand ensuring that he will return soon.
And soon you were off and back on your way back to your home. You of course made a surprise stop at Chan and Hannah to tell them the good news. Of course it was a little heartbreaking that Changbin wasn’t with you to tell the news. As you arrived back to your castle you were happy to be home and pleased with the work that you have accomplished.
“Y/n you’re home,” your services said with smiles on there face. This feeling of everyone being relief made you so happy. All of your hard work has paid off and now you know what it felt to be a Queen for their people.
epilogue
It was days before your coronation and the whole kingdom were in preparation for this big day. “How do you like this dress?” you turned around to asked Hannah as she became one of your bestest friends throughout the years. “It’s pretty but I think royal blue would be a better fit for you,” she said looking up from her book. “You just know me best don’t you,” you smile and throw a pillow at her. “Ah Princess Y/N, you have a visitor,” your butler said entering the room. Both hannah and yourself looked at each other in confusion as you didn’t know who was here for you. Waiting downstairs was a male and you knew right away who it was. Tears began forming in your eyes as you didn’t expect to see him again. “You kept your promise,” you ran into Changbin arms and gave him the longest hug.
Everything in that moment felt so right as you felt warms being in his arms. “I told you I would,” he said into your ear. Once again you looked up at him and saw the same guy who help you out of the ditch, helped you gain confidence and strength, and felt warmth in your heart. “I missed you,”. “I had a feeling, that why I came back. I also had to do this,”. Changbin leaned in closer to you and you did the same. Soon your lips connected and you were in a state of peace. Kissing someone in general was again a whole new territory for you but with Changbin it felt like old times.
“Are you staying for the coronation?” you asked disconnecting your lips and looking into his eyes. “Only if you will have me?” Changbin leaned in and kissed you on the forehead before pulling in for another hug.

heeeellllll yeah i shall :) did you know my first harry potter ao3 fic was a charlie x harry fic? and thank you!! that is my favorite era to write because of that!! you can say anything and think anything about that era and it could be true because we don’t know!!! //some of the headcanons are nsfw and i am not tagging anymore
___
Charlie Weasley Headcanons: (regular headcanons mixed with how he would be with an s/o)
I’ve always seen him as either asexual or gay/demi-sexual
beefy af, nice arms and thighs 👅
he likes to exercise on the regular
he is the sweetest, he will give you a toothache
charlie would definitely be the one to dote on his s/o, not necessarily with gifts, but always doing things for them. (”here, you’re tense, let me rub your shoulders”, “oh, i already did the laundry”, “let me carry in the groceries for you” etc)
his love language is words, he likes to be reassured and told that he’s loved (he’s not insecure, it just makes him feel loved when he’s told)
besides dragons, he loves owls, always found them fascinating
he’s totally hung as fuck, meaning he’s got a big dick bby
he can bake really well (he liked to help in the kitchen when he was younger) and his bread is to die for
he’s not outgoing, but he’s not an introvert, he’s in that grey area in between, but if given the choice he would much rather do something at home than go out
he would def love to work out with his s/o
really good with first-aid!!! if you get hurt, he is the best to go to
loves spicy food, escpecially indian food
Sirius Black Headcanons: (regular headcanons mixed with how he would be with an s/o)
he’s the type that acted out as a kid because he didn’t get enough love/affection/attention from his parents (because regulus started showing signs of a perfect pureblood young)
he’s shorter than remus, but the same height as james at 5′11″
i see him strictly as a top, or a very dominant switch
besides that, i believe he would see his partner as a complete equal
pansexual all the way
i believe he was like harry in the sense his mother cut his hair rather short once when he was younger and it grew back the same day. his parents never tried to cut his hair again
really good with his hands and can fix practically anything you give him, jewelry box, book bag etc. (he doesn’t use magic)
when he was introduced to the muggle world through lily, he was really interested in studying different religions, just because he found it so moving and profound
surprisingly he was wonderful in astronomy
loves to give his s/o pet names, especially the ones that gets a blush in response
^ with that, he would totally be the type to want to tease his s/o all the time, just because he likes the reactions he gets
and totally loves to boss his s/o around in bed (not in a dom or bsdm type of way, just likes to be in charge)
Fred Weasley Headcanons: (regular headcanons mixed with how he would be with an s/o)
one of the small differences between him and his twin, his eyes are bluer than george
with being the more outgoing twin, he’s a bit blunter with his words and doesn’t think of how harsh he can sometimes sound
he’s secretly really good at drawing, his care for magical creatures sketches are the best in his class (hagrid would always praise him over them)
tol (6′0″) and wide shoulders (and not lanky, but slim)
he still has a knit blanket his mom knit for him when he was a toddler (he keeps it under his pillow)
100% bi af (and a total charmer of both guys and gals)
but when presented with someone he actually likes, he’s a nervous wreck
he’s the type to need an s/o to mellow him out a bit
if he was an anime character, he would be the one that gives the audience all the fanservice they want
he’d help you hide a dead body without asking questions
he’s all for pda with his s/o, especially ass-slaps in front of as many people as possible
(secretly super possessive)
not too interested in the muggle world, thinks it’s neat but prefers the wizarding world
George Weasley Headcanons: (regular headcanons mixed with how he would be with an s/o)
his eyes are more hazel than fred’s and he is ½ an inch taller than fred
even though they are both pretty loud and confident, george is the own who isn’t as blunt or straight forward but he is 100% just as impulsive
chaotic bi
he’s also the type to tease his s/o all the time and knows that it’s annoying
he could be considered emotional, but doesn’t let it show on his face if he’s hurt or upset, he would much rather deal with that when he’s alone to sort out his emotions
he secretly thinks that molly mixed them up so much growing up that he may actually be fred
loves fairytales
vanilla baby, he would be too shy in bed to do anything more than missionary, until his s/o suggests something different and then he is all for it
he’s really good with kids
he and fred tried out for the quidditch team in an “ehh what could happen?” and didn’t expect to make the team, but is really proud that they did!
harry introduced him to video games post-war and he fell in love
he takes critism well, you just need to give him some time to process it correctly so he isn’t brash

Wowie, something not BNHA related on my page! Finally pfft-
Amyway, this is my first FMA Oc, but is it too late to be making an FMA Oc?? I’ll still post her bio below, so e h.
"I've learned that sometimes, it's hard to keep standing with no one to support you, but that doesn't mean you should let yourself fall either." ⋅⋆∘🔱B A S I C  I N F O🔱∘⋆⋅ ◻Name: Unknown ◻Aliases/Nicknames: Etta, E-6 ◻Age: 10 ◻Gender: Female ◻Human Ethnicity: Ishvalan ◻Sexual Orientation: Demi ⋅⋆∘🔱P E R S O N A L  I N F O🔱∘⋆⋅ ◻Residence: Somewhere in Amestris ◻Place Of Birth: Ishvala ◻Occupation: N/A ◻Amount Of Wealth: N/A ◻Amount Of Education: She has no clue how to read or write, and the highest she can count is to 10. She's never stepped foot in any school, and anything she learns is from the ones around her. ◻Family: Orphaned [U]Other Relationships: ⚪Riza Hawkeye - Riza was the first to find her and took her in. She's the only one aware of Etta being a chimera, promising to keep it a secret so she'll be safe. Etta sees her as a motherly figure, and trusts her deeply. ⚪Mei Chang - The two met by chance inside an alley, but Etta didn't see her as a threat when they met. She appreciates Mei for helping her while lost on the street, and giving her the chance to meet Scar. ⚪Scar - Etta was immediately relieved after seeing a fellow Ishvalan, and of course she has Mei to thank for introducing him. The two get along well, but she is still a little intimidated after seeing what he could do. 🔘Biography/Backstory: Etta was born a year before the Ishvalan war took place, however she has no recollection of her family or any of the events that took place, so it's safe to assume she was taken while still a toddler. Etta's only memories consist of the laboratory she was tested in, full of various animals and people of different ethnicities caged up, waiting in line for their turn. It's the only thing she can remember, sometimes believing she was created there for the sole purpose of being an actual lab rat. She struggled mentally and physically, feeling torment and regret as she watched each cage around her become empty, one by one. The day the scientists running the tests were successful in their research on making Etta a chimera, was when she was handed over to the Amestrian government to be used as a spy. Although, overnight she escaped using her chimera abilities to it's fullest. Her body was still slim from refusing to eat, so squeezing out of tight places was not a problem. She managed to run into Riza, who at the time was unaware of who the escaped chimera was. Riza, noticing how frail and thin the little girl was, and having no idea whether or not she had family, decided to temporarily take her home. When Etta was healthy enough, she snuck out of Riza's home, feeling as though she was a burden to her. Awhile after wandering the streets and staying hidden, she was surprised to meet Mei, another young girl around her age. Although, Mei wasn't alone, she introduced Etta to Scar. Etta's eyes lit up, as it was her first time meeting another Ishvalan outside of her laboratory. Even with the friendly face however, she still chose to leave on her own later on. She's been on her own, wandering around the city and scavenging since. ~
[S]In the epilogue however, Etta decides to stay with Riza, who would eventually adopt her and give her a permanent home. ⋅⋆∘🔱A P P E A R A N C E🔱∘⋆⋅ ◻Eye Color: Red ◻Hair Color: White ◻Skin Tone: Dark Skin ◻Body Type/Physique: Thin, very skinny ⋅⋆∘🔱C H I M E R I C  I N F O🔱∘⋆⋅ ◻Animal Species: Mouse ◻Color Of Their Fur: Pure white ◻Color Of Their Eyes In Chimera Form: Red ◻Body Type/Physique In Chimera Form: Somewhat plump, but still thin ◻Ability To Transform Back To Human?: Yes ◻Chimeric Abilities: Sensitive hearing, heightened speed and agility, heightened sense of smell, can squeeze through tight spaces, strong and sharp teeth that can gnaw through most material. ◻Amount Of Animal Instinctual Influence: Not much, she'll get distracted at the scent of food every now and then, but she shrugs it off. ◻Other Notable Features In Chimera Form: There's a missing patch of fur with a tattoo that says "E-6". Her fur has been growing back, but very slowly so the symbols are still semi visible. ⋅⋆∘🔱P E R S O N A L I T Y🔱∘⋆⋅ ◻Personality: She's timid and easily spooked, so she only talks to those she trusts. She is smart enough to steer clear of anyone who looks to be trouble, including Amestrian soldiers. She would never intentionally go out of her way to hurt someone, unless it's out of defense. Etta is even seen to be selfless, going the extra mile to help those in need despite having nothing for herself. Anytime someone helps her, she feels guilty as if she's putting a heavy burden on them, so she tries doing everything independently. ✅Likes: Dark and dimly lit areas, fairytales, rain ❎Dislikes: Large crowds, loud noises, the cold, cramped spaces ◻Alignment: Neutral ◻Pessimist, Optimist, Or Realist?: Realist ◻Introvert Or Extrovert?: Introvert ◻Aggressive, Passive, Or Assertive?: Passive [BCU]⋅⋆∘🔱S T A T I S T I C S🔱∘⋆⋅ 🔘Strength: 2/10 🔘Speed: 9/10 🔘Agility: 8/10 🔘Intellect: 3/10 🔘Combative Training: 0/10 ⋅⋆∘🔱O T H E R  I N F O🔱∘⋆⋅ ⚫She still isn't used to fully transforming back, so often times she'll still have her rat tail, or two noticeably large front teeth. ⚫She has a minor case of PTSD. Small and cramped spaces can cause her to panic. ⋅⋆∘🔱C R E D I T S🔱∘⋆⋅

Yep, It Looks Like Demi Lovato Wore Her Engagement Dress For the GLAAD Awards, Too
.@ddlovato introduces @iamsheadiamond for a powerful performance of "I Am America" from #WereHere at the #GLAADawards. pic.twitter.com/8kjqa49oCc
- GLAAD (@glaad) July 31, 2020
Even from the comfort of her own home, Demi Lovato looked red carpet-ready in a fierce red lip and pretty white cocktail dress for the GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday night. As the "I Love Me" singer presented Shea Diamond's performance, we couldn't help but notice that we'd seen a similar look from her just last week, when she posted photos of her engagement to boyfriend Max Ehrich.
We don't know about you, but we've definitely looked through the couple's stunning engagement pictures (and zoomed in on Demi's fairytale ring) enough times to recognize the beautiful details of her uber-chic Retrofête engagement dress. While we could only see the padded shoulders in the top half of her outfit during her GLAAD Awards appearance, it appeared that she might have been wearing the same dress and horseshoe-shaped diamond earrings. We're not sure if Demi filmed her GLAAD stint the day she got engaged or if she just loves a versatile dress as much as the rest of us. Either way, the singer definitely served some major glam for the virtual show. Get a closer look at her outfit in the clip above.

fandom: Akagami no Shirayukihime, Fate/Grand Order characters: Zen Wistalia, Shirayuki, Kihal Tohgrul notes: written for my ZenYuki 25 Lives AU, crown shyness (i liked it enough to post it separately). thanks to Miria and Rose for their help with some FGO mechanics; any remaining mistakes are my own.
The light in the summoning circle flickers, a fountain of bright blue light interrupted by sparks of gold. Shirayuki takes a step back towards Kihal and the safety of her demi-Servant’s enormous shield. This hasn’t happened any of the other times she’s tried to summon a Servant. What could have gone wrong?
“Is that supposed to happen?” she asks Kihal. This was the first time Shirayuki had tried out the new ticket method of summoning that the remaining scientists in Chaldea had come up with, since the traditional quartz stones were in short supply. There’s not a lot she can remember about unusual summoning situations- all the lectures she’d attended on the topic after arriving at Chaldea were a blur, buried in jetlag and a bout of unexpected dehydration. Kihal has been a lot of help with catching up in those areas, but there were limits even to her knowledge of the system.
“I think it’s going to be okay,” Kihal assures her. She points at the light in the circle. “Look!”
The pillar of light begins to fade. Gold afterimages dance at the corner of Shirayuki’s vision. She blinks away starry spots and focuses on the figure floating before her.
He looks like a prince from a fairytale. Really, Shirayuki had thought she would be used to the beauty that certain Servants possessed, but whenever she came face to face with a new one, they still took her breath away.
Spirit particles dance around the summoned Servant before vanishing as his feet touched the ground. His cape falls around him in soft folds of warm yellow-orange fabric, trailing on the floor behind him. The clothes he’s wearing aren’t what Shirayuki would normally expect of a prince- they’re far too soft, just a loose tunic over a partially buttoned shirt and wrinkled pants. There’s no crown on his head or weapon in his hand. However, there’s something about the way he carries himself that just screams royalty. She wonders what class he is, who he is. Anticipation sparks in her chest. She clasps her hands behind her, rocks back on her heels a few times. She’s only summoned a few Servants before and had nothing but pleasant first encounters. Hopefully this trend would continue.
He opens his eyes. They’re a shade of blue that Shirayuki remembers seeing once before. His eyes are the same color as the ocean when seen from high above, when she had been in an airplane with most of her soon-to-be classmates on their way to Chaldea.
The summoning room is quiet while the new Servant examines his surroundings. He turns his head slightly, to take in the room and the glowing set-up of the summoning circle at his feet. She feels it when his eyes alight on her and Kihal behind her.
He has a beautiful smile. Shirayuki blushes when he turns the force of that smile on her. It softens the lines of his face. His voice, when he finally speaks, is gentle and warm.
“My name is Zen Wistalia, second prince of Clarines.”
He’s still looking at her like she’s the only person in the room. That radiant smile hasn’t left his face. She’s afraid to introduce herself and break the atmosphere.
Prince Zen takes a few steps forward and kneels, right at her feet. He takes her right hand in one of his, and-
“Oh,” she whispers. He kisses her hand, right above the three red Command Seals inked onto her skin. From just that one point of contact, warmth spreads through her like sunlight. Behind her, Kihal coughs.
“I ask of you, are you my Master?”

Quickly grabbing whatever else she might need as she talked with her parents when Deimos opened a portal in their living room to reveal a beautiful garden with a few unicorns in there. “Sword horses…” Phobos grumbled before he took Mimi’s hand and guided her into the gardens while Deimos helped Palmon and then closed the portal behind them.  Just like how they had described it, the realm was bathed in morning twilight colors, bioluminescent flora as far as the eye can see, different animals a few flying above them; it truly did look like a setting for a fairytale. “Palmon, if you need the sun, there is a beach that Mama can take you to that’s not too far from here.” He warned her that it wouldn’t be much given that their adopted mother tended to overheat if there was too much sun.
“Boys?” A petite woman with long moonlight white hair that held a light rose iridescent sheen, dressed in overalls, and carrying a basket full of veggies and flowers appeared before them. Her long pale rose fluffy tail could be seen as her bright arctic blue eyes stared at them before she smiled. “So this is your special one~” she started out before motioning them to go on into the house. “Just remember to take off your shoes this time, and Phobos, leave Aladin alone.” Phobos pouted before agreeing to behave. “You kids go on and freshen up, I’ll be inside shortly.”
Tumblr media
“O-Oh my,” Mimi was soon feeling herself flush in front of the pretty woman that was there, and soon was bowing her head and then smiled, “A-a pleaasure to meet you Ma’am. I-I’m Mimi, hehe, your boys have been really good to me,” God she was so underdressed, if she knew she’d be facing THE Mama Moon she would’ve looked more decent or something. Palmon was humming a bit, nodding as she was soon stretching her vines for a moment and waved her hands, “Nice to meet ya~” As they were entering in the place, Mimi took off her shoes…but proceeds to smack her boys as she hissed, “H-How could let me introduce myself to your Mama when I’m dressed in your clothes—hnnnghhh how embarrassing!” So much for a nice first impression.
Palmon just looked confused but then looked around, “Maybe I could hibernate myself underground for a bit so I can soak up some good soil,” Mimi blinked and looked at her partner, “Ah yeah I forgot you sometimes do that when there’s no sun…oh darn, I don’t have a big pot for you to rest in,” She thought out loud then was soon bringing up her Digivice. She…was still sort of worried about her friends. She wondered what they are upto.
Tumblr media
“Ow!” Phobos yelped as Deimos tried to placate Mimi in telling her that she was fine the way she was. “Besides, Mama has seen worse. Our aunt came here-” “Skimpy nightgown and in stiletto boots, with a whip in her hand.” Phobos finished. “Yeah, sex is not taboo with our families.” He added before they heard someone else. “And that would be Aladin unless he was recruited to help with your friends.” Deimos said as he then looked over at Palmon. “Well, Horus comes by I think so he might be able to take you Egypt for a few hours to soak up the sun there.” “Or to Aunt Syrina’s place.” Phobos chimed in as they then led Mimi nad Palmon to their old bedroom. “Oh, and girls, the house does move to accommodate to Mama’s subconscious so don’t panic.” Phobos explained as they walked up to the second story of the house.  The house interior was full of Egyptian decor, hieroglyphs that spoke of the tales of Egypt, of Yue’s life and that of her children when they were born; even Deimos and Phobos were on the walls of the house. “Hey Demy, remember this?” Phobos asked as he pointed to the accident that broke his arm.
“Oh yeah. Chased one of the owlbears and we got lectured for a week straight for that.” Deimos replied with a soft laugh. They had noticed Mimi looking at her digivice and paused to hug her. “Hey, they’re going to likely be brought here, Mimi.” Deimos started. “This is the safest place. And I promise we’ll get to the bottom of this so that everything can go back to normal.” “Boys, Mimi you don’t sound like you’re washing up!” Yue called from the bottom of the stairs causing the twins to try and not laugh. “We’re going Mama!” Phobos said he quickly rushed up the rest of the stairs so as to not get into trouble. “Welcome home.” Deimos added.

You will also find expanded rules for more effective non-magical healing. Men & Monsters of Polynesia Regular price: $1.99 Bundle price: $0.50 Format: PDF One of the most fascinating regions of our own world is most assuredly Polynesia, a vast triangular area in the Pacific Ocean that encompasses Hawaii, New Zealand, Easter Island, Samoa, and Tahiti. It includes both actual creatures and those derived from myths, legends, folklore, reports from explorers, and other sources, and is inspired by the author’s personal adventures and... Moat Monsters: A Sourcebook for OGL RPGs Regular price: $1.99 Bundle price: $0.50 Format: PDF In most fantasy settings, castles and cities are vital components of civilization, and many of these rely on moats for defense. Princess Eugenie Took Style Cues From Meghan Markle at Her Star-Studded Royal Wedding
Much like her first cousins Princes William and Harry, Princess Eugenie’s relationship played out like a fairytale romance in the public eye. Eight years ago Queen Elizabeth’s sixth grandchild was introduced to Jack Brooksbank, a brand ambassador for tequila crafter Casamigos (founded by George Clooney) and began attending high-profile events with him just one year later.
Today, Princess Eugenie married long-term partner Brooksbank earlier today at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The bride appeared to have taken style cues from her newly married sister-in-law Meghan Markle with simple, elegant Peter Pilotto gown that left her collarbones and part of her shoulders bare.
The design details Eugenie added to her dress were intended  to have a deeper meaning: the folded neckline displayed  a scar the Princess had from a corrective scoliosis surgery she had at the age of 12. (Eugenie is now a patron of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London where she had her surgery as a child and representatives from the charity were invited to stand inside the grounds of Windsor Castle during the ceremony.) In addition, the gown which was stitched with meaningful symbol including a Thistle to represent Scotland, a shamrock for Ireland, the York Rose for England and an ivy representing the couple’s home.
Perhaps most notably, Princess Eugenie bucked Royal tradition by not wearing a royal veil. Rather, she wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, which was lent to her by the Queen.
The ninth in line to the throne was watched by her grandmother, the Queen, and Prince Philip, among other friends and family except the Duchess of Cornwall and Rothesay Camilla Parker Bowles on speculation of tension between herself and Eugenie’s parents, Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. The 850 other guests included celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Naomi Campbell.
We couldn’t forget about the ever-stylish Countess of Strathearn Kate Middleton either. We’re still keeping track of every single one of her effortlessly flawless looks and you can see what she wore to the second royal wedding this year here.
