Tunnel Runners Review

Back in 2007 psychopathic records created Hatchet House. The label primarily had artists of all genres signed even if for a brief moment. Names like The R.O.C., chop shop, DJ Clay and Motown Rage. Along with this, the label also dropped a compilation titled "Tunnel Runners" which featured a lot of artists who've been making a name for themselves in their own right. 13 tracks in total.

Well it starts with Claas's track "all fall down" which is a strong track to open with. Then we get hit with F Dux in a uninspired and boring track called "Die 2Nite" which is one of the worst songs on the record. Next 2 songs are "The Calvary" by Intrinzik and"Snap Music" by J Reno, respectively. With that said, both songs are equally as bad and uninspired as "Die 2Nite". Next up we got Jason Porter's "Jason is back" which is one of the better songs on this. Jason is as brutal lyrically as he has been in his previous works('Vengeance is Mine' comes to mind). As great as that Porter song was, we are then greeted by the ABSOLUTE WORST SONG ON THE RECORD, which is "Fucked up" by Kidcrusher. It's a metal inspired track that is just fucking awful. From the guitars, lousy drumming and mostly the fact that Kidcrusher's music is like poseur metal, the bottom of the barrel, the dregs of the underground scene. King Gordy is next up, and he kills it. One of the few tracks that I've enjoyed thus far. Next up is "Neck Cuttaz" by Lo Key. An ok song a little repetitive at times and the beat was kind of fun though. Mars is next with the 2nd worst song on here. "They Watching Me" is as bad as they come. Boring lyrics, beats just as boring and the hook sounds like a bad Ray Charles impersonator. Mars also is on bottom barrel levels with the likes of Kidcrusher. Mastamindz is next with an awful song, I can't even hear it more than once, it's so bad. It's like a nü metal song with some strong emphasis on the "rapper" portion. Next up is Playaz Lounge Crew with "P.L. FN C" which is a great track. Both dudes from PLC are very talented but I really wished  they had done more tour wise and maybe made a few more records. "Portrait of American Horror" by psycho jesus... Don't care for this song. It sucks, the production is tight though. It all rounds off with "Pop" by Q Strange. This song is a direct attack on the mainstream music scene. Attacking every relevant rapper at the time this record was made. Good stuff.

Only a few songs on here are listenable. The rest is garbage. Absolute trash. This is a hard pass on my part unless you are into this and by this I mean lazy song writing and levels of bad that make me wanna blast Justin Beiber and Ed Sheeran than to hear some of these songs again.
