Last night at @weeksvilleheritagecenter was moving and inspiring. It was so amazing for 4 #blackownedbusiness (@blackonblackbk, @ikinsights, @thebrowncrayonproject and @kaisococktail) to come together with a common #ideology. . To uplift and #supportblackbusiness and #empower the #blackcommunity. The #synergy was electric! . The movie Marshall was sooo good. I strongly suggest we go out and support this film. It’s up to us to make sure OUR STORIES STAND A CHANCE. I will go and see it again. . Ummm Kaiso - #tasty as hell! I’m sold. . The Brown Crayon Project - #welldone . #weeksvilleheritagecenter is so beautiful. I didn’t know his story at all! . About Weeksville: During the violent New York Draft riots of 1863 (the then-largest civil disturbance in the country) the community served as a refuge for many African-Americans who fled from Manhattan. At its height, Weeksville was home to over 700 families and is thought to be one of the country’s first free black communities. . #MarshallMovie #IntrinsikImpact #IKInsights #StandUpForSomething #blackonblackbk #thebrowncrayonproject #kaisococktail #ownourownnarrative (at Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn)
