En 1997, el paisaje cultural de Hallstatt fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. No es para menos. Esta pequeña villa alpina de 800 habitantes situada en Austria es, para muchos, uno de los pueblos más bonitos de Europa. Por eso no es de extrañar que se haya convertido en protagonista recurrente de las cuentas de Instagram de viajes. Beautiful Destinations o Living Europe cuelgan con regularidad imágenes de la localidad tomadas por fotógrafos profesionales o aficionados y acumulan cientos de miles de ‘me gusta’.

El innegable encanto de este pueblo de cuento se debe a que está ubicado en un marco incomparable. A un lado, lo escoltan los Alpes. Al otro, el lago Hallstätter See le sirve de espejo. A su alrededor es posible hacer distintas sendas con vistas espectaculares y su historia, que se remonta miles de años atrás cuando celtas, romanos y medievales dejaron su huella en estas tierras, lo convierte en un destino de interés turístico. Sobre todo para los visitantes asiáticos, que aprovechan sus viajes por Europa para visitar el pueblo e inmortalizarlo. Tal es la devoción del continente por Hallstatt que no dudaron en replicarlo en China. Una compañía estatal minera china, Minmetals Land, contruyó una copia de su pueblo en la provincia de Cantón replicando con todo detalle las casas, la plaza del mercado y alguno de sus edificios más representativos. Sus habitantes mostraron una mezcla de orgullo y descontento por ser el primer pueblo copiado de la historia y, finalmente, su alcalde decidió firmar un acuerdo de cooperación con su gemelo chino para promover el turismo a la villa original.

Pero lo cierto es que solo hay un Hallstatt verdadero y su belleza es única. Las pruebas están en Instagram. El hashtag homónimo devuelve más de 200.000 resultados y cada foto es más impactante que la anterior. A pesar de que el turismo (fotográfico) podría acabar con parte del encanto bohemio y bucólico de la villa, merece la pena recopilar las fotos más bonitas de la pequeña localidad:
