YOU ARE DUST-DUST OF EARTH BUT ALSO DUST OF STARS Elohim spoke these words <<You are dust>>. God Creator. He who called - and constantly calls - the world and man from nothing to existence. And he created man << from the dust of the earth>> (Gn 2:7): he formed him with the same material with which he made the whole visible world. When God says <<You are dust and to dust you shall return>> (Gn 3:19), these words utter a severe sentence. And God, who pronounces them, is revealed in them as the Creator and as the Judge. Yet these words are at the same time full of suffering. There is expressed in them a forecast of Good Friday. There is expressed in them the suffering of the Son of God, who says, <<ABBA, Father!...let this cup pass from me!>> (Mk 14:36). //Saint John Paul the Great- DAILY MEDITATIONS 🍎 #saintwisdom #the4thCup #LivingLent ❤️💛💙 PONDER THIS: if the dust reveals to us the Creator Elohim and it is to Him we shall return then of what shall we be afraid, those who love him. Because of Jesus and what he suffered, we know the Creator Elohim as ABBA. Why should we then be afraid of returning to our Father? #ponderthat #wakingeve #lent #lentenmeditations #wotd #wordoftheday #scriptureoftheday #sotd #intothedesert #paintopassion https://www.instagram.com/wakingeve/p/BurFkPPA-WU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1aynd0v5a17gv

Confession is a beautiful gift — a true encounter with the mercy of God as well as a school of mercy.
Because we receive God’s forgiveness, we also receive the grace to forgive others as God forgives us.
Lent is a time for us to be honest with ourselves.
It is a time to remember that we are all sinners.
But it’s also a time to remember that God’s mercy is always there for us in the sacrament of penance and reconciliation.
Lent is a wonderful time to go to confession — to receive God’s forgiveness and mercy through that beautiful sacrament.
Lent is a beautiful time for the sacrament of reconciliation, to go back to confession.
In the sacrament we find that Jesus is there — waiting to forgive us.
Waiting to show us his infinite mercy and give us the strength of his grace.
The mercy of God is available to use in the sacrament of reconciliation. Through confession, we always have a chance to get right with God — a chance to start again.
God will always be moved by our repentance — by our desire to do better, by our desire to grow in holiness and love.
God’s heart is the heart of forgiveness.
He never gets tired of forgiving us.
No matter what we do, even if we keep doing the same things wrong — God is always ready, God is always waiting for us to come back home.
We need to make our lives a journey of repentance — turning towards God in the confessional, asking for his grace and mercy as we strive to live like Jesus.

Miracles Day 10: Into The Desert
Tumblr media
By: Laura Ngai
Having been born, raised, and rented out the house that I grew up in from my parents someone might say that I had some serious roots. The only time I had moved was to switch bedrooms in that same beloved house. It wasn't until I met my husband that my adventures of moving began. The more I move, the more I come to understand that the more stuff you accumulate you either have to purge before you move or get a bigger moving truck to haul it all in. I've gotten to be seasoned at moving by now. Making up for lost time, maybe? What I do know for sure is that the old adage, "Home is where the heart is." has its merits. More appropriately; Home is where you choose to make it.
The move I had the hardest with was when we were called to move to a new time zone in the desert. We had sent my husband ahead to start his new job and make sure it was going to be a good fit for us before we completely packed up and moved from where we were at. So believe me when I tell you that I had a pity party. Sitting on my bed I couldn't help but feel a little like the children of Israel at being moved into the desert. My prayer at that point was that it wouldn't last for 40 years!
After fidgeting with my smart phone I was lead to look up scripture on testing. Ever try to look up scripture only to have a totally dyslexic moment and get the number transposed when you go to look it up? I have. But here is what the Lord said to me.
Deuteronomy 2:7 "All along the way I, the LORD your God, have blessed every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wasteland. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing."
Ok Lord, I hear you. You have blessed me so far. You are watching out for me. You are with me. You have made sure my needs are provided for.
Then I went back to the transposed and a wrong number for what I originally was supposed to look up.
Deuteronomy 8:2 "Remember the whole way by which he has brought you these forty years through the desert so that he might, by humbling you, test you to see if you have it within you to keep his commandments or not."
Ever feel like you have been smacked upside the head with scripture? You are not alone. Two things occur to me with this passage: 1) I was being sent to the desert, away from friends and family, away from my comfort zone so that God could grow me to see if I would keep his commandments. 2) It was pointed out to me by a friend that I shared this story with, a couple years post move to the desert, that I was lead to scripture that happened after the forty years of the Israelites being in the desert. She revealed with a word of knowledge to me that I wasn't intended to stay there for long.
As I sat there on the bed, in total humbleness, thanking God for the new job opportunity and asking Him to direct me in what I needed to do from there I was lead to another scripture.
Deuteronomy 4:29-31 "But if you seek the LORD your God from there, you will find him, if, indeed, you seek him with all your heart and soul. In your distress when all these things happen to you in the latter days, if you return to the LORD your God and obey him (for he is a merciful God), he will not let you down or destroy you, for he cannot forget the covenant with your ancestors that he confirmed by oath to them."
Beloved, if you are in a place right now where you are feeling called to seek God, know that you will find Him. Return to Him and obey what he is requesting of you. In my own journey to the desert I was able to find peace, new friends, adventures that I never would have come to know or even dream about if I had not been physically moved from the place where I had been.
Remaining humble beside you while keeping His commandments.

...And these signs and wonders shall follow them that believe… Christ does not call us first into signs and wonders. He calls us each to the foot of the cross that in learning to unite ourselves to him we might understand and believe. Then, we shall see proof of our union. Once we truly believe! For some saints like Catherine of Siena, Faustina Kowalska, Rita of Cascia, Francis of Assisi and Padre Pio, such union was manifested literally upon their bodies in the form of stigmata. Christ first prepares our souls to receive him and then the body. He does not wait for our bodies to be purified as living temples before he comes to us but instead asks us to allow new life to resurrect our temples. We must venture first into the desert where our souls are strengthed before we can bare the passion of the cross in our body, much less become a vessel through which his power can flow into signs and wonders. I invite you to join me these next 40 days as we go into the desert with our Lord. Study the scriptures (Matthew 4, Luke 4, Mark 1, John 6), commit to a daily meditation on the passion of Christ, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes more acutely to Jesus’ time in the desert. Why does the Gospel of John not include the telling of Christ’s temptations in the desert but speaks of them instead in the form of a parable of the feeding of 5,000? What is the connection between baptism and the immediate call to the desert?...Read about the life of one of the stigmatists mentioned above...[Clink Link in BIO to Keep Reading NEW BLOG POST] ❤️💙💛 Whatever you decide to do these next 40 days, I pray you will find yourself strengthened in the knowledge and love of our Lord. That when you emerge from the desert with him, having overcome the temptations of the accuser and strengthened yourself in the mission upon which our Heavenly Father called you forth from your womb, you will find yourself immersed in His mercy and, having been fully equipped, you will complete that which He has called you to.
