2020 Skate America Overview
Skate America, the first stage of the Grand Prix, is upon us.
Link to the Competition Central page on USFSA Fan Zone is linked in the source. No results page or starting orders are up yet, for obvious reasons, but it will be there. The page also has links to the schedule, including practices, and other things.
For American viewers, access will be on either Peacock Premium or NBC/NBCSN. Schedule is on the page, as well, and as per usual, not all events will be shown live on NBC/NBCSN. Practices will be streamed on Peacock Premium starting on Thursday at 10:00 am Pacific/1:00 pm Eastern.
For non-American readers, those with broadcast rights will probably see the event. See soyouwanttowatchfs’s blog here on tumblr. I have already reblogged there post, and they have a lot of info on streams in different countries. The ISU has, in past years, streamed it live on YouTube for those without broadcasting rights, but I have not heard anything about it. I have also heard that Eurosport has regained their rights for this.
Schedule (Eastern Time Zone)
Friday, Oct. 23 7:06 p.m. - Ladies Short Program 8:56 p.m. - Men's Short Program 10:46 p.m. - Pairs Short Program 11:25 p.m. - Rhythm Dance Saturday, Oct. 24 1:59 p.m. - Ladies Free Skate 4:03 p.m. - Men's Free Skate 8:43 p.m. - Pairs Free Skate 10:17 p.m. - Free Dance
Withdrawals
There have been some withdrawals.
In the Men’s event, Stephen Gogolev of Canada and Michael Brezina of the Czech Republic withdrew due to injury, and were replaced by Daniel Samohin of Israel and Joseph Kang of the US. In the Ladies event, Gabriella Izzo, Isabelle Inthisone and Kate Wang withdrew, and were replaced by Paige Rydberg, Finley Hawk and Sierra Vanetta.
In the Pairs event, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov of Russia withdrew, and were replaced by Anna Vernikov and Evgeni Krasnopolski of  Irsael. In the Ice Dance event, Madison Chock and Evan Bates and Livvy Shilling and Alexander Petrov withdrew and were not replaced.
Previews and predictions for all for events will be coming. Stay tuned, and they will be tagged with #preview.
