Another 20 (or so) Questions with Silas Walker
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Silas Walker, an insightful songwriter who also happens to be your RA. Silas, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue songwriting?
Silas: Music has always been a big part of my life. I love the way that music can make you feel. Beyond that, it can enhance what you're already feeling. Honestly I was just inspired by the way certain songs have carried me through life, so I started making my own. Hopefully I can write songs that really resonate with people from all walks of life.
Interviewer: Could you describe your songwriting in more detail?
Silas: Well I really enjoy collaborating with other writers and musicians. Not that I don't like working on music alone, but it's so much more interesting and complex when you have someone else to bounce ideas off of.
Interviewer: Ok interesting, so do you only collaborate with other musicians, or have you worked with other types of artists?
Silas: Oh yeah! *he becomes much more animated* I have these two friends Karla and Faye, we actually all stayed in Lipton Hall our freshman year. Karla paints mostly, but she does some mixing on the side, and Faye is a dancer and sculptor. Sometimes I'll write a song based on one of Karla's paintings and then she'll go and mix it to adapt to a collection she's working on. And sometimes Faye would ask me to come up with something for her if she couldn't find a song to fit the choreography in her head. We even worked on a cool project, all three of us together. *he visibly deflates* I doubt that'll happen again now that they're broken up.
Interviewer: That all sounds really interesting, I bet you three have put out some interesting creations. Actually I didn't realize that you three were close. *takes a deliberate pause* I haven't talked to anyone else about their breakup, would you mind giving me your take?
Silas: I'm not really sure it's my place to talk about their relationship. All I'll say is that I wish they could have worked it out, they were really great together. Truth be told I think that their communication and trust just fell apart, and neither of them knew how to repair it.
Interviewer: *leans forward, intrigued* Do you think there's a chance they'll get back together?
Silas: *smirks and leans forward* Sorry, but isn't this interview supposed to be about me?
Interviewer: Ha, sorry your right. *sits back, more composed* Actually you were just wound so tight in our last interview that I was surprised to get you talking about anything remotely personal.
Silas: Well it can't really be considered personal if it's not about me.
Interviewer: Indeed. Alright let's just...change the subject. What trait do you value most in a friend?
Silas: Understanding. I think that if you have friends who are willing to take the time to thoroughly understand you, well then you can pretty much overcome anything.
Interviewer: That's a very insightful take, would you say you want the same from your ideal partner.
Silas: Yeah, of course, but they would need to be more than just that. Actually I'm not really sure how to put in to words exactly. Just someone who matches me, like it just feels right.
Interviewer: Do you think you become more forward if you feel that type of connection with someone, or do you just let them come to you?
Silas: I mean there's a time and a place for everything. Just because you feel a spark doesn't mean it should be ignited. Sometimes some things just aren't meant to be.
Interviewer: What do you notice first about a person? How did you put it. *smirks* What ignites that spark?
Silas: I mean obviously when you first meet someone you take them in physically. Their height, hair, nose, the way their lips move when they speak, how their eyes shift along your face, it's hard to say you only notice one thing.
Interviewer: *blinks slowly* Oh really, all that in a single glance. *Silas just leans back, grinning* Um, anyways, next question. What was your first kiss like?
Silas: It was pretty underwhelming. Short, sweet, turned out my friends little sister had a crush on me. One day I was hang out at his place and he left the room for some snacks. She popped in to confess her feeling gave me a quick peck and then ran out. We never talked about it. *shrugs*
Interviewer: Okay, simple enough. Have you ever been in love?
Silas: Love, no. Infatuated, yes. Don't ask how it went.
Interviewer: *rolls their eyes* Alright, then when was your last relationship, and why did it end?
Silas: I was seeing someone last year but it just sort of...fizzled out.
Interviewer: Right...is that it? *closes their eyes and pinches the bridge of their nose* How the fuck am I supposed to do my job if you wont talk. *clears their throat* Would you mind telling me how you behave in a relationship?
Silas: When I really care for someone I end up letting my guard down. It's like I chase the feeling they give me, even if sometimes I shouldn't.
Interviewer: Well that was a loaded answer, and I know you'll refuse to elaborate. You're absolutely infuriating. *takes a calming breath* Let's move on to something, easy. What’s your ideal Friday night?
Silas: *tries to hide his chuckle* Usually my ideal Friday night is spent with friends, either having a little jam session and writing music together or going to a concert.
Interviewer: *sighs* Okay, cool. What’s the last song you listened to?
Silas: "Just Like a Star" by Corinne Bailey Rae. It's a classic that never gets old.
Interviewer: Mhm. What is your latest obsession?
Silas: It's not really anything knew, but I collect records. Its more of a constant obssession.
Interviewer: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Silas: People who don't know how to mind their own business.
Interviewer: Oh my fu.... *takes a deep breath* Well I think that's all the time we have for today. *looks at notepad, there are definitely more questions* It's really been something speaking with you today. I'm sure it'll be even more enlightening next time.

Bombshell 'poison papers' document revealed: Monsanto, Bayer, Dow and BASF all knew about dioxins
Today we're going public with a bombshell secret document that was provided to us as part of the investigations into highly toxic dioxins and the gas bomb that was unleashed over America with the Ohio train wreck.
This once-secret document reveals that Monsanto, Dow, Bayer and BASF were all aware of the extremely deadly properties of dioxins. They discovered this through an industrial accident. Once they knew how deadly it was, some of these corporations commercialized it and turned it into a weapon against the world.
The EPA has been running cover for the dioxin industry for decades, even covering up the effects of Agent Orange on US soldiers who were exposed in Vietnam and died of horrific injuries or cancers.

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Maxine Matthews
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Maxine Matthews with us, an aspiring dramatic writer who creates new worlds through her imaginative point of view. Max, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue dramatic writing?
Maxine: I've always been drawn to storytelling, whether through film, TV, or theater. Writing allows me to create worlds and characters that resonate with people, and I love the idea of evoking emotions and sparking thoughts through my work.
Interviewer: Could you describe your writing style in more detail?
Maxine: My writing is a reflection of my observations and insights into human nature. I can't say that I have a specific genre that I prefer because I want to try and be really well rounded as a writer, I still have a lot to learn after all. I do have a genre that I'm interested in exploring though. You know films like Labyrinth, The Never Ending Story, and Legend, 80's dark fantasy. I actually really enjoy those but I feel like they could be done even better with more diverse casts, better graphics, and more complex storylines. Honestly I think it's something that a lot of people would enjoy seeing in theatres again.
Interviewer: Interesting, isn't that a little niche? How do you think your work will be received by others? Better yet how do you want your work to be received?
Maxine: Personally I like the dark ethereal nature of those films, but I feel like now we could take them several steps forward. I think people would appreciate that same energy with richer plot and visuals. I think that audiences today are actually craving a more dynamic hero's journey.
Interviewer: And what about you? How do want people to see you outside of your work?
Maxine: I'm not really sure. Honestly I don't really care how people see me unless it's someone who's actually important to me. In general I would hope that people just see me as honest and unwavering, but besides that I can't say I really care.
Interviewer: I've been asking everyone else to describe their ideal best friend, but I think I want to switch it up for you. Could you instead describe how you feel about your best friend, MC?
Maxine: *immediately shifts her gaze away* I mean they're my best friend so I really care about them. They're like family you know...but not...actually family...thank god. Uh yeah honestly I just feel most like myself when we're together. We've been friends our whole lives and I can't imagine not having them around. I'm not really sure that I could have this kind of connection with anyone else.
Interviewer: Hmm, sounds like you feel very deeply towards MC. Would you say that you want a similar connection with your ideal partner.
Maxine: *shifts nervously* Probably...right? I mean obviously I want to have that really deep meaningful connection with someone...romantically. It would be nice if they were at least half as attractive as MC too.*covers her mouth*...fuck...did I say that out loud...
Interviewer: *tries to stifle a chuckle* Yeah you did. Alright next question? What was your first kiss like? Was it with MC?
Maxine: No! I mean, no, it wasn't. I was dating this girl, Jade, during sophomore year. She was great, super cool, but it just sort of fizzled out. It was nice...the kiss. We were just hanging out, studying together. One second we're talking about A Midsummer Night's Dream, and the next she's sucking on my bottom lip. Yeah it was a good kiss...she was a good kisser.
Interviewer: So I'm guessing you weren't in love with her. Have you ever been in love?
Maxine: Yeah you're right, I wasn't in love with Jade. I haven't really tried dating anyone since. I just haven't really felt that spark, that undeniable connection.
Interviewer: *leans in* Like the one you have with MC?
Maxine: I... I mean. *takes a deep breath* I know what your trying to do.
Interviewer: *raises their hands in surrender* I'm just asking you a simple question. After hearing what you've had to say so far I think it's a very valid observation.
Maxine: *rolls her eyes* You want me to say that I'm secretly in love with MC. And I don't know, maybe I am, but they are to important to me for me to risk exploring those feelings. What if they don't feel the same? What if they do and we try being together but it doesn't work out? I love how we are now. Even if I have these other...feelings.
Interviewer: Alright, I won't press you any further...for now. What’s your ideal Friday night?
Maxine: Well I love a good theme almost as much as I love a good movie. I like to plan these movie nights where we do a double feature and have a movie themed dress code and snacks related to the movies we're watching.
Interviewer: That sounds like a lot of fun, make sure to invite me next time. Ok have you heard any good music lately? What’s the last song you listened to?
Maxine: "Ego" by Kennedy Ryon. I heard it the other day and I've had it on repeat ever since.
Interviewer: I'll have to give it a listen sometime. So what is your latest obsession?
Maxine: I just finished this really good book, The Star and The Strange Moon, by Constance Sayers. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I finished it. Annoyingly enough I don't know anyone else who's read it, so I can't discuss it with someone who gets it and it's killing me.
Interviewer: I'll make sure to give it a read, then we can chat about all the little details. Ok next question. How do you behave in a relationship?
Maxine: Mmm I don't know. I mean I've only been in one and that only lasted about 3 months. I think I was pretty...chill. It honestly just felt like we were friends who would make-out sometimes. If I was with someone that I had strong feelings for, I think I would be a bit more serious and maybe a bit territorial.
Interviewer: That makes sense. What about your approach? Do you go in first towards those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
Maxine: If it's just making friends then yeah I would say I'm pretty outgoing. And if we're talking about something more than that I think I'm probably a bit more cautious. It's nice knowing that someone wants me before I make a move.
Interviewer: Yeah taking that step first is quite the bold move. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Maxine: I can't stand arrogance. Like it's fine to be proud and confident but when you start to make others out to be less than, it's just really off putting.
Interviewer: I couldn't agree more. So, what do you notice first about a person?
Maxine: Their style, not in a judgey way. The way people dress tells you a lot about them. What they value, their hobbies, yeah it's just really interesting.
Interviewer: That's really true. A lot can be learned from how people choose to present themselves. Alright this is our final question. What did you dream about last night?
Maxine: Honestly I couldn't sleep I've been packing and getting ready for this big road trip. I'm riding with MC and Cameron to move in at NYU. It'll be a bit of a drive, but I'm pretty excited.
Interviewer: Well that sound like a side story just waiting to happen. Honestly Maxine this has been an absolute pleasure, but I believe that’s all the time we have for today. I hope that you find success on you journey through university. Thank you so much for coming in and sharing more about yourself with us!

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Sebastien Auclair
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Sebastien Auclair with us, a French photographer who'll do just about anything for the perfect shot. Sebastien, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue photography?
Sebastien: Photography, for me, is a way to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us. It allows me to tell stories, evoke emotions, and share my perspective with others. I believe that studying photography in a different cultural landscape like New York City will be an incredible experience, enriching my artistry and expanding my horizons.
Interviewer: And how would you describe your style of photography more specifically.
Sebastien: I don't think that I have a defined style exactly. People, landscapes, architecture, whatever speaks to me in the moment. Hopefully I find some inspiration while I'm here something that'll lead me in the direction my work is meant to go.
Interviewer: So you're coming to NYC searching for inspiration, I'm sure you'll find it. Once you've found that spark, how do you want your evolved work to be seen by others?
Sebastien: I want my photography to be seen as a form of storytelling, a window into different worlds and experiences. I hope that my photos can provoke thought, evoke emotion, and perhaps even inspire action or change.
Interviewer: And how do you hope to be seen out side of your work? Just Sebastien the person, not the photographer.
Sebastien: Most people can't separate an artist from their art, for obvious reasons. Who I am, what I feel, what I like or dislike, what I believe in; all of those thing will naturally come through in my work. While I want people to see me for everything I am outside of photography, even I have a hard time separating myself from it. Hopefully those who spend time with me while I'm not just the man behind the lens, hopefully, they can see me as compassionate and curious, passionate and free thinking.
Interviewer: What trait do you value most in a friend?
Sebastien: Spontaneity. I'm often off on a new adventure, living in the moment. Friends that are up for that are valuable and hard to find.
Interviewer: Given what you look for in a friend, would you say you want the same thing from your ideal partner?
Sebastien: I definitely like an adventurous spirit, but I also want someone who can challenge me intellectually and emotionally.
Interviewer: What is your latest obsession?
Sebastien: Exploring the city! I decided to arrive early so that I could learn my way around and find an apartment before the fall.
Interviewer: From on major city to the next. On to some questions that I readers are very curious about. First, what was your first kiss like?
Sebastien: Would you think the worst of me if I said that I don't remember it. I was young and drunk off too much red wine. I'm sure it was sweet though. *his lips reveal a toothy grin*
Interviewer: So you can't remember your first kiss... well then have you ever been in love? And if you remember, what was it like? *quirks their brow, challenging Seb*
Sebastien: I believe I have, yes. *smirks, while pushing his hair out of his eyes* Love is a complex and multifaceted emotion, my first love, it's quite a sordid tale. Take me out to dinner next time and I'll tell you all about it.
Interviewer: Ok...well can you tell me when your last relationship was, and why it ended?
Sebastien: Let's just say my last relationship ended before I came to New York for my exchange program. *glances down at his hands* It was a mutual decision, as we both felt that we were heading in different directions in life.
Interviewer: That's it? *sighs deeply* Alright lets move on to something easy, what’s your ideal Friday night?
Sebastien: A night spent exploring the city with new friends, perhaps visiting a gallery opening or a new exhibition, followed by a cozy dinner at a wine bar.
Interviewer: Easy enough. What’s the last song you listened to?
Sebastien: "Flamenco Sketches" by Miles Davis. It's soothing and beautiful, perfect for late-night editing sessions.
Interviewer: Ok back to something more personal. How do you behave in romantic relationships?
Sebastien: I try to be open, communicative, and understanding. Generally I believe in giving each other space to grow individually while also nurturing the relationship as a partnership. I can't say that I don't occasionally want all of my partners attention though. Not that I'm possessive I just appreciate quality time.
Interviewer: Well I'm sure you're a little possessive. *they tease* Would you say you approach those you’re interested in or do you let them come to you?
Sebastien: I usually approach first. If I'm interested there's no point in wasting time in making my intentions known.
Interviewer: Ho very assertive of you. What is your biggest pet peeve? Something that would keep you from interacting with someone.
Sebastien: I can't stand dishonesty and manipulation. You really have to disrespect someone to treat them that way.
Interviewer: I couldn't agree more. Ok, next question. What do you notice first about a person?
Sebastien: I think I notice their eyes first. Seeing if someone will hold eye contact, or if they'll look away. Whether or not the look directly into my eye un wavering or if they sear my face, my body language, for other cues. *looks intently at the interviewer*
Interviewer: *holds Sebastien's gaze* Ok monsieur lisse, last question. What did you dream about last night?
Sebastien: I actually didn't sleep last night. I was up for hours editing some freelance engagement photos I shot about a week ago. Sometimes I get, how do you say... hyperfixated? I start and can't stop until my work is complete.
Interviewer: Well Sebastien this has been an absolute pleasure, truly enlightening, but I believe that’s all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for coming in and sharing more about yourself with us!

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Faye Winters
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Faye Winters with us, a contemporary dancer who can shape clay as fluidly as she shapes her body. Faye, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue dance and sculpting?
Faye: I've always felt a deep connection to movement and expression. Dance, especially contemporary dance, allows me to convey emotions and stories in a way that words cannot. And sculpting is a whole other thing! It allows me to create the human form in a single beautiful moment. It's so interesting to create something stationary that contains so much movement.
Interviewer: How do you want to be seen by others?
Faye: Honestly sometimes I wish that I could pick and choose when I'm actually perceived.
Interviewer: Ok...could you elaborate on that?
Faye: I'm naturally pretty extroverted and I really love being around friends, old and new. I've just been really struggling to navigate my relationships, peoples expectations, their assumptions about me. I don't like conflict but no matter what I do it seems to find me.
Interviewer: I see the more people you let in the more complicated life can become. How about your art, how do you want it to be seen by others?
Faye: Sometimes I really shy away from just letting my true emotions show, It's not that I'm not actually a cheerful person, I just don't know if people will like the other parts of me. When I dance...it's like I'm still me but since I'm performing I can put my whole self into it and not be afraid of being harshly judged for who I am. If someone feels the need to critique my work that's one thing, but when they judge my character then it actually hurts. *starts fiddling with her hair* Uh I'm not sure if that answers your question.
Interviewer: No, I understand. You want people to see all of you through your work even the parts your afraid for them to see. So what do you look for, what traits do you value most in a friend?
Faye: Authenticity. I value friends who are genuine, who accept me for who I am and who I can be myself around. I might have a really big social circle, but I've actually only got a few friends that truly understand me and make me feel safe.
Interviewer: Mhm that checks out. So, what is your latest obsession?
Faye: I've been baking even more recently. I'm trying to perfect some recipes before I start my blog. Mmm struggling to come up with a name for it though. Let me know I you think of something. *reveals the most charming smile*
Interviewer: *grins back* I'll start brainstorming ASAP! Ok could you describe your ideal partner?
Faye: *starts chewing on her bottom lip, lost in thought* I mean I don't have a type. I think that I just gravitate towards people that make me feel at ease. Chemistry should be natural, like I want them to be my best friend, but I also want to feel butterflies and be a bit nervous around them.
Interviewer: Alright, and what was your first kiss like?
Faye: *chuckles to herself* It was my eighth grade spring formal. I went with my friend Gabriella who I had a secret crush on. We were young and I was still figuring myself out, my sexuality my gender identity. She was so cool and I had a crush on her for a while but I wasn't sure if she liked girls. I wasn't even sure if I liked girls until we kissed. We were just going as friends, but the DJ (aka Mr. Harrison our English teacher) just kept playing slow songs and we still wanted to dance. So on the fifth slow song in a row we were swaying gently she was really locked in on my eyes. I suddenly felt brave and went in for a little peck. She didn't shy away, it was sweet. I didn't stop smiling for the rest of the night.
Interviewer: That's honestly too cute. It's nice that your first have left such a sweet memory. Ok next question. Have you ever been in love?
Faye: *lets out the deepest sigh* I think you already know the answer to that. *she closes her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose* Yes I have been in love.
Interviewer: *clears their throat* Sorry about that...I don't think you'll like this next question either. When was your last relationship, and why did it end?
Faye: *covers her face with her hands* Uh god I really hate this. Ok, ok fine. You already know that Karla and I were together until recently, but hey I might as well tell you the whole story. We had a class together fall semester freshman year, Art-107: 2D Fundamentals. It's one of the core classes for Studio Arts. Anyways along with the obvious drawing assignments we also spent a lot of time taking field trips to galleries and museums. I had already noticed Karla in class but, she really stood out to me on those days...usually she would walk around with her headphones on, she seemed to be in a world entirely her own. Anyway, one day we were looking at the same piece and next thing I know she says, "You know we've been standing here for the last twenty minutes, and I haven't thought about anything except that you smell like lavender, honey, and sunshine." And then she just smiled at me...it was the most soft and unassuming expression. It's like she didn't have up any walls, she had a thought and just said it without worrying about it. She drew me in instantly. I never told her this, but I fell for her right then and there. At first everything felt so easy between us. Karla has this quiet confidence that just made me feel so secure in her, in myself...in us. *she lets out a bitter laugh* Then as usual when life starts getting to good obstacles come out to play! Long story short one of our "friends" started trying to drive a wedge between us. At the time I didn't realize it or want to believe it, but I think he was interested in me so he was always around and acting a little more than friendly. I tried to just brush it off as a little innocent crush. One day we were hanging out together waiting on Karla and next thing I know he's kissing me. *the interviewer's eyes go wide already knowing where this is going* Yeah...Karla had just walked in. Even though she saw me push him away. Even though I told here it was completely one sided she just didn't want to deal with the drama. And that was that.
Interviewer: Well fuck. That's really shitty. I can't even imagine having someone I thought was my friend do that to me.
Faye: Yeah it was really messed up. Sorry for rambling...I just wanted to get it off my chest, I'm so tired of people asking me about it. Now I just want to try and move on. But of course I haven't stopped thinking about her, not even for a single day.
Interviewer: I can imagine...sorry this next question almost feels to light hearted in comparison.*Faye shrugs signaling them to continue* What’s your ideal Friday night?
Faye: *she cracks a smile* Your right this is a rather light transition. Ok so my ideal Friday night would start with a sunset picnic. Just eating some yummy snacks, listing to music and being out in nature. Maybe we'll dance in the grass or just lay around and talk.
Interviewer: That sounds like a fantastic evening. What’s the last song you listened to?
Faye: "If You Were Mine" by Minova.
Interviewer: I'll have to give it a listen. How do you behave in a relationship?
Faye: In one word giving. I really like doing things for my partner. Curating sweet little gifts and dates keeping in mind how well I know them, in my opinion, is the best way to show them how I feel.
Interviewer: Do you approach those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
Faye: I think it's definitely a bit of both. I'll definitely approach someone first if it seems like they're on the shy side. Until I turned fourteen...maybe fifteen I was pretty awkward, but then I just decided to start accepting myself and putting myself out there.
Interviewer: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Faye: I really hate liars. Especially if you're lying about someone else. Like, why would you drag someone else's name through the mud.
Interviewer: What do you notice first about a person?
Faye: Their energy and presence. It's not that I believe in auras or anything, but people really do give off unique vibes.
Interviewer: What did you dream about last night?
Faye: Nothing that I can remember, thank god! I did watch a suspense movie right before bed, so I was sleeping with the lights on.
Interviewer: *lets out a light chuckle* Well Faye this has been an absolute pleasure, but I believe that’s all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for coming in and sharing more of your story with us!

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Everly/Everette Thompson
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Everly/Everette Thompson with us, our resident multi-faceted thespian . Everly/Everette, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue not only acting, but dancing and singing as well?
Everly/Everette: Hey! I'm super happy to be here today, thank you for having me. Honestly I grew up spending most of my summers with Gran Gran, she lives in Florida. We would spend most of the day at the beach, and then she would teach me how to knit while TCM (Turner Classic Movies) played in the background. So many classic Hollywood films were musicals and I fell in love with all of the razzle dazzle. Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Leslie Caron, Ginger Rogers they were all so captivating in their time, and I'd love to captivate others in the same way.
Interviewer: So classic Hollywood is your main inspiration, and I'm guessing that also led to your love of the stage. Describe your art in your own words.
Everly/Everette: Once I realized my love for the dramatic arts I knew that I wanted to do it all. Both on stage and on screen, I knew that I wanted to live many lives and tell thought provoking stories time and time again. Getting fully immersed in a new character, and knowing that an audience can see, feel, and hear what I'm trying to express through them is such an overwhelming feeling.
Interviewer: How do you want to be seen by others?
Everly/Everette: If were talking about how I want to be seen as a person rather than as an actor, then the answer is that people can perceive me however they please. People are always going to have their own opinions and make assumptions. I can't really control how people view me, all I can do is be true to myself.
Interviewer: True it's easy for people to make quick assumptions about you when you're in the spotlight. And how do you want your art to be seen by others?
Everly/Everette: I want people to be as immersed in my roles as I am. When they see me perform I want them to forget that it's me and only see the character that I am portraying.
Interviewer: What trait do you value most in a friend?
Everly/Everette: I really value the support of my friends. I may put up a strong front, but it's hard to constantly be in the spotlight. People make a lot of assumptions without really getting to know you. So having friends who trust and understand me despite what others may say is really valuable to me.
Interviewer: What is your latest obsession?
Everly/Everette: I think most people know this about me already, but I'm really into DnD. So recently I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3. It's so unbelievably good! And yes Astarion is my favorite...but Karlach is a close second.
Interviewer: I think Astarion is everyone's favorite! Alright next question, describe your ideal best friend.
Everly/Everette: Someone who shares my passion for the arts and understands the dedication required to succeed. Someone who is supportive, honest, and always up for a spontaneous adventure.
Interviewer: And what about your ideal partner?
Everly/Everette: I think that my ideal partner is really similar to my ideal best friend. The biggest difference would be that I want them to only have eyes for me. I don't mean that they can't perceive other people as attractive I just always want feel like their number 1.
Interviewer: That makes perfect sense. What was your first kiss like?
Everly/Everette: I was really ambitious my freshman year and I auditioned for the lead in our spring musical, Grease. I got the part and my co-star was pissed since they were a senior and really wanted to do the role opposite their partner. As you can imagine this made baby freshman me really nervous, so I begged my best friend Cleo to help me practice the kissing scenes. In my head I thought that maybe if I was a good kisser then maybe my co-star could at least tolerate me. *shrugs*
Interviewer: So did it work? Did your newfound kissing skills help you get closer with your fellow actor?
Everly/Everette: *self deprecating grin* Well........ sort of....... *chuckles to themself* So the thing is I could tell that they definitely started to get more into rehearsing with me kissing scenes or otherwise. The thing is as soon as we were done rehearsing or performing they would become super cold towards me. I don't think they were even capable of warming up to me, but hey the show must go on.
Interviewer: Indeed it must. Well Everly/Everette, have you ever been in love? Off the stage of course. *cheeky grin*
Everly/Everette: I mean I've dated here and there throughout high school, but I don't know, I can't say that I was in love. I have yet to feel that same rush that I feel on stage playing out a scene of love, with someone in reality. And I know that love isn't supposed to feel like something fictional, it should feel real, tangible. Like something that I just have to hold onto because once it slips through my fingers who knows when I'll be able to grasp it again.
Interviewer: *gets wide eyed and then holds back a chuckle* Um...uh are you sure you've never been in love? I just can't imagine having thought about it so deeply if you've never felt it. Could you tell me when was your last relationship, and why did it end?
Everly/Everette: *hides their cheeks from blushing* Ah uh sorry. *chuckles* Yeah I have a habit of being overly introspective. I just think about emotions and abstractions like love and hate, happiness and sadness, so often that it's hard to really define those things in day to day life. And as for my last relationship, well it ended pretty recently. So I was cast as the lead in my final high school spring musical which was Heathers. Long story short my co-star asked me out opening night, and I felt like I sort of had to say yes. Honestly I didn't really see them as anything more than a friend and fellow actor, but I was scared that the performance would tank if I turned them down. After going to prom with them I decided that I had to end it before graduation, I felt really horrible stringing them along. I couldn't be honest with them and say that I was never into them from the start, so I just said that since we were going to schools on different coasts it would be better if we went back to being friends.
Interviewer: Wow that's a lot to unpack. I guess that probably put a bit of a damper on the end of your senior year. Lets move to a lighter topic. What’s your ideal Friday night?
Everly/Everette: If I don't have any plans to hang out with friends, then I'll usually just have a chill night in with the twins. They're in middle school so they're old enough to stay home alone or go hang out with friends, but I still like spending time with them. Plus it gives my parents a chance for a night out. We'll just order pizza and stay up late watching movies and playing video games.
Interviewer: That's really sweet I'm sure they'll miss your Friday night hangouts. What’s the last song you listened to?
Everly/Everette: "Body Language" by Helena Deland.
Interviewer: How do you behave in a relationship?
Everly/Everette: I'm honestly not 100% sure... Since I basically faked my last one... I don't know I think that maybe I'm just a little possessive. Not in a controlling way I just want to spend all of my time with my my partner. But that's normal...right...if you really like someone?
Interviewer: Well I guess that would depend on how it makes your partner feel. Speaking of people you really like, do you approach those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
Everly/Everette: That depends. If the person is someone who likes to take charge then I'll just make my feeling obvious, and they can come to me. If they're a bit more reserved then I'll just take my time showing how I feel and I'll approach them more, the more they show interest in me.
Interviewer: That's a very thoughtful approach. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Everly/Everette: *immediately gets heated* People who tell others to "tone it down." Like what the fuck does that mean? If you can't handle someone with a more expressive personality then just fuck off. Why should I have to tone it down to make someone else more comfortable. If they don't like it, then they can leave, no one is forcing them to stick around.
Interviewer: *cheeky grin* Sounds like your talking from experience. I bet there is definitely a story there, but moving on. What do you notice first about a person?
Everly/Everette: Their eyes, or their gaze more precisely. The way someone just watches the world when they don't think anyone is watching is really interesting.
Interviewer: That's an interesting one, I haven't heard a take like that before. Alright last question, what did you dream about last night?
Everly/Everette: I honestly don't know. I can only recall little snippets. A vivid sunset, me dancing with someone I don't know to a song I've never heard, and streams of people. I uh...don't remember any context those are the only points that stuck with me.
Interviewer: Sounds like even your dreams are cinematic. Well that's all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for coming in and sharing more of your story with us!

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Rina/Ren Fukushi
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Rina/Ren Fukushi with us, our favorite future principal dancer. Rina/Ren, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue ballet?
Rina/Ren: *awkward smile* Uh hey...thanks for having me. Ballet is the epitome of grace and discipline. It's a form of art that allows me to express myself in a way that words cannot. From a young age, I was drawn to its beauty and complexity.
Interviewer: Describe your art, ballet, in your own words.
Rina/Ren: Ballet is about precision and control. Every movement is calculated and deliberate, conveying emotions and stories through the language of dance. It requires immense dedication and practice to perfect each step and technique.
Interviewer: How do you want to be seen by others?
Rina/Ren: I want to be seen as a dedicated and talented dancer. Someone who has worked hard to achieve excellence in their craft.
Interviewer: And how do you want your ballet to be seen by others?
Rina/Ren: I want my ballet to be seen as a form of art that evokes emotions and tells stories. I want the audience to be moved by my performances, to feel what I feel when I dance.
Interviewer: What trait do you value most in a friend?
Rina/Ren: Loyalty. I may not have many friends, but those I do have are incredibly important to me. I value their support and understanding.
Interviewer: You mentioned that you don't have many friends...would you say you have a best friend in your small circle?
Rina/Ren: Umm...my younger sister, Himari, she's a really good kid and no one understands me better than her. I'm honestly so proud to call her my sister. She's so smart and talented, incredibly funny and intuitive...wow...I'm really gonna miss her.
Interviewer: It sounds like you two are really close. When you go to NYU do you hope to make a new best friend?
Rina/Ren: I've never really been one to force friendships. I just feel like if it clicks then that's great and if not that's fine too. Respect and mutual understanding are really important to me. If someone is going to be my best friend they have to know and truly understand my priorities.
Interviewer: Would you describe your ideal partner the same way?
Rina/Ren: I haven't really thought about it. You may be right though. If I was going to date someone they would need to be able to understand my ambition and not resent me for it. Anyways, my focus is on ballet right now, not romantic relationships.
Interviewer: What is your latest obsession?
Rina/Ren: Perfecting my technique. I'm always striving to improve, to push myself further and become the best dancer I can be.
Interviewer: *sighs deeply* Do you have anything you're interested in that isn't ballet related?
Rina/Ren: I guess just general self care. If I'm not in good condition then I can't properly focus on my craft. With that in mind I focus on eating healthy, skincare, and an extensive workout routine. And yes, I do take days off. Burnout is very real and it can only hinder my process.
Interviewer: Sounds like you've got a super productive routine. Now on to something more personal. What was your first kiss like?
Rina/Ren: I haven't had my first kiss yet. *thoughtful pause* Well not technically...I've had one on stage...but nothing real. My senior year the ballet department was putting on Romeo and Juliet. I was cast as Romeo/Juliet. We never actually kissed during rehearsal so my first kiss was during the performance.
Interviewer: Was there any romantic tension between you and your fellow principal dancer?
Rina/Ren: No, obviously it was just for show. I wouldn't be a very good performer if I couldn't separate myself from the character I'm portraying.
Interviewer: Ok, ok understood. I think I already know the answer to this next question, but I still have to ask. When was your last relationship, and why did it end?
Rina/Ren: I've never been in a serious relationship. I've always been focused on ballet, and I haven't had time for anything else.
Interviewer: I thought so. What’s your ideal Friday night?
Rina/Ren: After I've finished practicing, I usually meet up with Himari at this indie movie theater Obscure Cinema. They have a year round Freaky Friday series where they show all kinds of horror, thriller and sci-fi movies. It's honestly pretty small so they don't have a concessions stand. Usually we'll stop and grab some food to take with us. It's definitely a little tradition that I'm gonna miss.
Interviewer: What’s the last song you listened to?
Rina/Ren: I don't really listen to music outside of ballet, but if I had to choose, it would probably be something classical.
Interviewer: How do you behave in a relationship?
Rina/Ren: I can't say for certain, as I haven't been in a relationship. I really don't know, I guess, I hope that my first relationship will be with someone that I'm really comfortable with. It would be nice to be able to be completely myself and feel seen and understood. I know that I'm extremely ambitious and that could make my future partner feel really lonely. Hopefully we could both be patient enough with each other to find the right balance.
Interviewer: Do you approach those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
Rina/Ren: I haven't really met anyone that I've felt drawn to enough. I think that I would really have to like someone, at least half as much as I like ballet. *silly grin* And that would be a lot, but I think that if I liked them that much then maybe I would try to make the effort.
Interviewer: What would someone have to do to grab you attention? to make you notice them in a romantic way?
Rina/Ren: I really admire people who put their entire selves into what they are passionate about. Someone who is driven, goal oriented, I think that someone who is exceedingly dedicated to their craft is probably the same in their relationships.
Interviewer: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Rina/Ren: I feel like this one is pretty obvious, but it's laziness. I can't stand people who half ass things. If you're going to do something then do it right.
Interviewer: What do you notice first about a person?
Rina/Ren: Their posture and body language. It can tell you a lot about a person. How someone tilts their head, the fall of their shoulders, if they speak with their hands, every little detail is very enlightening.
Interviewer: What did you dream about last night?
Rina/Ren: I don't really remember my dreams. I try to make sure that I always get the perfect restful 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Interviewer: Thank you so much for coming in today! It's been great to learn a bit more about you and how your mind works.

Another 20 (or so) Questions with De Hartley
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have De Hartley with us, the bassist of The Rebel Rejects. De, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue music?
De: Hey, thanks for having me. Music has always been a part of my life, thanks to my dads. They're both incredibly talented, and I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Joining The Rebel Rejects was a natural step for me to explore my love for music and express myself creatively.
Interviewer: Describe your music.
De: I aim to create a solid foundation that others can build on. It's about rhythm, melody, and telling a story through music. *starts to get a bit more intense* I listen to a lot of music from all genres! There are so many different nuances that you can of discover through exploration. While our music is mostly punk I like to try and weave in other vibes so that we have a more complex sound.
Interviewer: How do you want to be seen by others?
De: I want to be seen as someone who's authentic and passionate about their art. I want people to see that I'm dedicated to my craft and always striving to improve.
Interviewer: How do you want your art to be seen by others?
De: I want my bass playing to evoke emotion and connect with people on a deeper level. I want it to be seen as a form of expression and storytelling, much like the music that inspired me.
Interviewer: Describe your best friend(s)?
De: *soft smile* I've been lucky to have friends like Jo and Ro who accept me for who I am and support me no matter what. Ro is a tiny tornado always wreaking havoc and causing mischief, but damn I love them for it. They always keep me on my toes. Jo is rain on a summer day. It's like one moment they're undeniably sweltering hot on the kit and then once it's over they're so ridiculously calm and chill.
Interviewer: That's such an interesting way to describe them! What is your latest obsession?
De: Cooking! It's not a new obsession, but lately I've really been upping my game. I've been experimenting with different recipes and techniques, trying to expand my culinary skills. It's a fun and creative outlet for me outside of music.
Interviewer: Describe your ideal partner.
De: Someone who's passionate about their own pursuits and supports mine. Someone who's kind, understanding, and shares my values. I tend to take on a lot of responsibility and put too much pressure on myself, so it would also be great if my future partner could help me chill take a step back and relax.
Interviewer: What was your first kiss like?
De: It was awkward but sweet. It happened at a friend's party. Get a bunch of curious preteens together and they're bound to play spin the bottle. Her name was Cleo, I had braces, she wore glasses, we shared a cute little peck.
Interviewer: Have you ever been in love?
De: Yes, yes I have.
Interviewer: When was your last relationship, and why did it end?
De: I recently broke up with someone, Mariana. They're great, one of my best friends actually. We're going to different universities and decided that it would be best to let ourselves fully explore. We were together all throughout high school, and I'll miss them, but we're still young. Who knows maybe we'll get back together one day. *shrugs*
Interviewer: What’s your ideal Friday night?
De: Playing music with The Rebel Rejects, followed by a cozy night in with good food and good company.
Interviewer: What’s the last song you listened to?
De: "Heroes" by David Bowie. It's a classic that always gives me chills.
Interviewer: How do you behave in a relationship?
De: *becomes thoughtful* I generally take care of others. It's not like I mind taking the lead I actually *rubs the back of their neck* I actually really enjoy it. Leading someone is my way of trying to show them how much I cherish them.
Interviewer: Do you approach those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
De: I'm pretty good at reading people so it's not hard for me to tell if someone is interested. If the feeling is mutual, then I'm definitely down to play the game and make the first move.
Interviewer: What is your biggest pet peeve?
De: *stifles a chuckle* I'm not sure this counts as a pet peeve, but I hate pineapple on pizza. If someone orders pineapple on pizza I instantly feel like I can't trust them.
Interviewer: I 1000% agree! What do you notice first about a person?
De: Their lips. *eyes flicker down to the interviewer's lips* I tend to glance at a persons lips when they're speaking. *eyes flick back up*
Interviewer: *clears throat* Speaking of lips...Ro tells me that you and the other Rebel Rejects have been...canoodling. How did your partner, Mariana, feel about that?
De: They knew and they were fine with it. I was always very open and honest with them. I've known that I'm pansexual since my first year of high school and while I enjoyed exploring my sexuality with Mari I also wanted to do more. They were very understanding and joined in every once in a while.
Interviewer: Honest and clear communication is definitely key. How are you so extremely mature for your age. Ok... now I know the readers are dying to know. *slides to the edge of their seat* What was it like the first time you and your bandmates got hot and heavy.
De: *tries to hide their smirk* Are you sure you want to hear? It's not really that interesting. *shrugs
Interviewer: *pinches the bridge of their nose* Dear god. Are you trying to kill me. Trust me we all want to know.
De: *eyes literally twinkle* Well if you insist. I'll start from the beginning of the night. So their was already some tension between Ro and I, because they had bailed out on a few practices the same week of our first gig. We had had a few songs that were rock solid, but decided to write a new one. We wanted a song that would be a real crowd pleaser. It was a good song but we didn't have time to slack on perfecting it. So the day comes and Ro barely has the lyrics memorized. We start the performance without a hitch but when it comes time for Intergalactic Drag, that's the song, we completely flopped. Well Ro did at least.
Interviewer: Sorry to interrupt but what does this have to do...
De: *holds up their hands* I know, I know, I'm almost there. So we go back to my place after the show. We're all sitting in my room dead silent until I flip my fucking shit! I start going off on Ro about how their slacking is dragging or rep down. Jo is just staring at us bewildered and Ro decides to clap back. Next thing I know Ro is on their toes trying to get in MY face! I'm looking down at them and we're both breathing heavy right before our lips crash together. *starts to laugh* and Jo is just sitting in my desk chair watching us biting their lip, until we pull them in and then......actually I'm just gonna stop there. Everyone likes a little mystery right.
Interviewer: *furiously fans themself* Ok, ok I see. Yeah lets stop there. I had one more question for you but I'm absolutely parched. *takes a deep breath* Anyways, thank you so much for coming in today. It's been quite the experience.

Another 20 (or so) Questions with Jo Nielsen
Interviewer: Welcome to another installment of our character interviews, where we dive deep into the lives and minds of our favorite cast members of The Muse. Today, we have Jo Nielsen with us, the drummer of The Rebel Rejects. Jo, thank you for joining us. Could you start by telling us what made you want to pursue music?
Jo: Hey, thanks for having me. Music has always been my refuge, especially after the tumultuous experiences of my upbringing. The drums, in particular, spoke to me – they're like my voice, expressing all the emotions I couldn't put into words.
Interviewer: How would you describe your music?
Jo: My drumming style is raw and energetic, I really feed off of Ro and De's energy. I tend to really let loose and leave it all on the kit. We have a blend of punk and post-punk, with slight influences from other genres thanks to De's eclectic taste.
Interviewer: How do you want to be seen by others?
Jo: I want to be seen as someone who's genuine and empathetic, who's been through struggles but still finds joy in life's simple pleasures.
Interviewer: How do you want your art to be seen by others?
Jo: I want my drumming to resonate with people, to be a source of comfort and empowerment. I want it to inspire others to find their own voice, just like music did for me.
Interviewer: What is your latest obsession?
Jo: I've been obsessed with hiking! I really love being outdoors, so I've been trying to hit all my favorite trails at home this summer before the move to university.
Interviewer: Describe your best friend(s).
Jo: De and Ro are literally the most amazing people I’ve ever met. When I first transitioned into normal life I wasn’t really sure what types of relationships I would form, but they showed up in my life and made me feel so seen and secure. They show me so many types of beauty in everything and truly keep me grounded when I’m feeling…lost. I know it’s cheesy but I would definitely say we’re soulmates.
Interviewer: Wow it sounds like you found true kindred spirits in De and Ro, that’s lovely. Could you describe your ideal partner?
Jo: Someone who's understanding and patient, who accepts me for who I am and supports my passions. Someone who's willing to go on adventures and explore the world with me. Also they have to get along with my friends, it’s an automatic deal breaker if they don’t.
Interviewer: What was your first kiss like?
Jo: I don’t really like to talk about it…it was a bit traumatic… I will tell you about what I like to think of as my first kiss. It was actually with Ro. *chuckles* I know, I know what you’re thinking, but it was actually really sweet. I had just finished opening up to them about my past and they asked me if I wanted a redo. It was nice…soft and gentle. Ro can actually be really sweet.
Interviewer: Aw that's so cute! Ad I'm sorry but I have to ask, have you kissed since?
Jo: *starts to blush furiously* I uh…maybe once or twice…I mean did Ro say anything?
Interviewer: *stifles a laugh* Mmm I think I’ll let you ask them yourself. Moving on, have you ever been in love?
Jo: Not yet, but I believe in love and all its complexities. I think when it happens, it'll be a beautiful and transformative experience.
Interviewer: When was your last relationship, and why did it end?
Jo: I haven't been in a serious relationship yet. Honestly I had never even had real friends before Jo and De. I've been so focused on my music and my friends that I hadn’t really thought about dating.
Interviewer: What’s your ideal Friday night?
Jo: I love just hanging out with the band, whether it’s practice, a gig, or just staying in. It’s alway super fun when we’re together.
Interviewer: What’s the last song you listened to?
Jo: "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division. It's a classic that always hits me right in the feels.
Interviewer: How do you behave in a relationship?
Jo: I think I'd be a supportive partner, someone who's always there for their significant other no matter what. I believe in mutual respect and understanding in a relationship. I like to do little things for the people I love to show them I care.
Interviewer: Do you approach those you’re interested in or let them come to you?
Jo: I think it depends on the situation. I'm not afraid to make the first move if I feel a connection, but I also believe in letting things happen naturally.
Interviewer: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Jo: People who are closed-minded or judgmental. I believe in acceptance and understanding, so it frustrates me when others can't see things from different perspectives.
Interviewer: What do you notice first about a person?
Jo: Their energy. I believe in vibes, and I can usually tell right away if someone is genuine and authentic.
Interviewer: What did you dream about last night?
Jo: I think it was more of a nightmare…*gets comically serious* I dreamt I was on stage completely naked, with just me and my drum kit. And I was using bananas instead of drumsticks. AND even worse the audience was throwing bananas at me! *hides face in hands* That’ll teach me to eat a banana before bed.
Interviewer: *doubles over laughing* Alright Jo...not to suddenly get serious but... This is the final question, and I know this is a sensitive subject for you, but I have to ask. What's "the incident" that caused you and you mother to transition back into normal life?
Jo: *sighs so deeply* I... honestly... I still don't think that I'm ready to share that just yet. It's very personal and I only feel comfortable sharing that information with someone who has thoroughly earned my trust.
Interviewer: I understand, I'm sure it takes a lot for you to even open up this much. Thank you for today. It's been wonderful getting to learn more about you.
