hey I really like your fics, can you do 45 for kagehina if you are still doing those? Thank you very much
hello hello~! Thank you so much for your request. I’m very sorry that this is so late but I hope you enjoy it anyway~
45. pretending to hate each other au for kagehina
Tobio jumps to wakefulness, flailing his arms and legs out to take out any would be attackers. He doesn’t get very far because he’s forced to grab hold of the person carrying him or fall to his death.
“Oh my god,” Tobio says, shutting his eyes again and burying his face in the Little Giant’s fluffy orange hair.
“Alright there, Tobio?” the Little Giant, aka Hinata Shouyou, says. His voice is teasing but under it is a layer of concern that warms Tobio’s heart.
“What happened?” Tobio croaks, keeping his eyes shut tight so that he doesn’t have to see the rapidly approaching city. He knows he’s safe, the Little Giant would never let anything bad happen to him because that would ruin his superhero image and Shouyou would never let anything bad happen to him because the apartment would get lonely, but it doesn’t stop the lurch in his stomach from being terrifying.
“You were captured by Duplicate,” the Little Giant says. “I checked, he doesn’t know about us. It was just a wrong place, wrong time kind of situation.”
“But you saved me,” Tobio says, breathing in the alien sunshine smell the Little Giant gives off when he uses his powers. He’s going to need to take a shower when he gets home or everyone will know who he is.
“Of course,” the Little Giant says. “The Little Giant saves everyone. Me, though, I’ll always save you.”
Tobio presses his face further into the fluffy orange hair. His memories of his time with Duplicate are coming back and they’re chilling. Tobio was going to be cut up and used as materials. His eyes are stinging. “Shouyou.”
“None of that,” the Little Giant says. “We’re almost to the ground.”
Tobio grits his teeth and remembers their arrangement, the strategy they have to make sure that no one realizes that Tobio’s boyfriend Shouyou and the Little Giant are the same person. He doesn’t want to do it. Right now he wants nothing more than to stay in Shouyou’s safe arms just a little longer, to feel safe and loved and to tell Shouyou how worth the danger he is. This isn’t Shouyou, though, this is the Little Giant. He’s as impenetrable as the sun, like his father before him, and he doesn’t need Tobio the boyfriend right now. The Little Giant needs Tobio the skeptical reporter and so that’s who he’s got to be.
He pulls his face out of the Little Giant’s hair and watches as they fall the last hundred feet to the sidewalk. There are other reporters already here. The Little Giant puts on the breaks and the landing is soft, especially by Little Giant standards. Tobio unclasps his hands from around the Little Giant’s neck and disentangles himself as fast as possible, practically jumping out of the Little Giant’s arms instead of staying curled up in them like he wants to.
Tobio whirls on the Little Giant and the anger is easy to dig up. He doesn’t want to play this game right now. He’s stressed and he just nearly died. He doesn’t want the Little Giant, he want’s Shouyou and the Little Giant is just in his way.
“None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you,” Tobio spits.
The Little Giant looks taken aback, his face going soft like Shouyou’s does when he’s surprised, and Tobio realizes that his eyes are still stinging with tears.
“Kageyama-san,” the Little Giant starts, unsure, and Tobio wipes angrily at his eyes, trying to get rid of the fearful tears that are starting to spill over.
“The villains are here because of you,” Tobio says, not letting the Little Giant get a word in edgewise. “We didn’t have a problem with super-villains until you came along.”
“Kageyama-san, please calm down,” a police officer says, putting a hand on Tobio’s shoulder. “I’m sure you just had a very traumatic experience but it doesn’t do you any good to blame it on the Little Giant.”
“It’s fine, officer,” the Little Giant says while Tobio seethes at being told to calm down by someone who doesn’t understand what Tobio is dealing with. “He’s always like this.”
“Someone has to be critical,” Tobio snaps.
“Please make sure he gets a full medial check-up,” the Little Giant says. “I want to make sure he’s extremely healthy. I’d hate to have anyone accuse me of trying to get rid of him. I’ll pay for it, of course.”
Tobio’s jaw clenches. The Little Giant turns and flies away without a backwards glance and Tobio screams up after him, “How are you gonna pay for that, asshole? No one actually pays you for this hero crap. You’re just putting more strain on society.”
The Little Giant ignores him and the officer tries to pull him away. “Come on, you heard the hero.”
“No,” Tobio snaps, trying to shake off the officer’s grip. He doesn’t need a medical checkup, he needs to go home where no one will be watching him and he can process his day in peace.
“None of that, now,” the officer reprimands. “The Little Giant ordered you a full medical work-up and that’s what you’re going to get.”
“That bastard,” Tobio can’t help but grumble. “He thinks he knows what’s best for everyone.”
“Well, he is a superhuman entity,” the officer comments.
Tobio lets the officer pull him towards the ambulance. “No,” Tobio says to himself, the fight draining out of his shoulders. “He’s just a man.”

Shouto's going to try to talk quirkless Izuku out of doing the 1 on 1 fights after they finish up the cavalry battle, isn't he? (Since he won't be dragging him off to ask if he's All Might's love child for obvious reasons). Not sure why Shouto would spill the backstory though... Maybe Izuku gets fed up and says something to the effect of "You keep going on about my lack of a quirk, but you actually have a quirk and yet you only use half of it!" making Shouto feel he must explain.
Tumblr media
It’s that time again. Time to do as requested and continue a series that a lot of people seem to really love. I hope you enjoy the continuation of Shouto and Quirkless!Izuku.
Special thanks to the requesters; @sassytherivergoddess @5ft @asexualkittyclaws @interstellarmonkeys @ladysunami
Part one can be found here, part two can be found here.
When Midnight announces that the winner of the footrace is going to be worth ten million points in the cavalry battle Shouto can’t help but wonder if Yuuei is trying to kill Midoriya. Maybe he’s messing with fate. Still, he has a compulsion to try.
During the team building phase everyone avoids Midoriya like the plague. He’s approached by someone from the Support Course first, who he seems to agree to team up with tearfully. Next he goes to the purple haired boy and only other General Studies student in this part of the competition. They argue and they don’t end up teaming up. After that Shouto loses sight of Midoriya when Kaminari distracts him.
In another life, maybe, he would have tried to be on the same team as Midoriya to take advantage of Midoriya’s tactical mind to win but his second goal for the game is to take Midoriya’s headband as quickly as possible in order to remove the target from Midoriya’s back. He can’t do that and win if Midoriya is on his team so he builds his team from classmates and resolves to focus on winning first and removing Midoriya from the game second.
After the planning period is over Shouto’s eyes find Midoriya again, sitting atop Tokoyami, Uraraka, and the Support Course girl. Shouto prepares himself and makes it his mission to take care of Midoriya’s team as soon as possible.
He doesn’t get the chance.
As soon as the game begins Midoriya’s team takes to the air where the only one who can touch them is Bakugou with the aid of his explosions, only for Bakugou to be knocked away by Dark Shadow. Shouto has Kaminari disable most of the field and he freezes them in place, taking several headbands on his way past for insurance. Much like the footrace, Shouto chases Midoriya down from the ground while Midoriya flies through the air.
It takes over half of the allotted time for Shouto to finally corner Midoriya in a field of ice. His support items are broken, which Shouto thinks means that he’s won. Of course, Midoriya is tricky.
Midoriya seems to have noticed that he only produces ice from his right side and he keeps to the left, stopping Shouto from freezing him in place. Kaminari is out of commission and every time they get too close Dark Shadow pushes them back. Midoriya buys time until there is only a minute left and Shouto is getting desperate to remove Midoriya from the games. Iida comes through at the last second with a frankly terrifying burst of speed and it seems like Midoriya’s team will end the game with zero points.
What Shouto did not expect was for Midoriya to rush them. Midoriya’s team is still coming at him from his left side and Iida is in the way of his right. Iida can’t move, apparently, which leaves it up to Shouto to protect their points for the last ten seconds.
Dark Shadow seems to be everywhere and Shouto can’t take to the air like Bakugou. Dark Shadow keeps up the pressure and Shouto tries to dodge without falling and he sees Midoriya’s hand out of the corner of his eye. With a sudden panic, the sudden overwhelming thought that they will lose at the last second, fire erupts from Shouto’s left side. Midoriya’s hand snatches back and Shouto’s first thought is that he’s burned Midoriya. He forces the fire down with disgust, both at himself and his father, but then he feels a tug at the bands around his neck and turns his head in time to see Midoriya make off with three of them.
Shouto turns, reaches out to try to snatch them back. He hears Bakugou’s war cry before Midnight calls time and Shouto is frozen with his hand outstretched towards Midoriya, who holds just enough points in his hands to move on to the next round.
When Iida, Yaoyorozu, and Kaminari let him down he can only stare at his hands, specifically his left one which lit up with fire the moment he was cornered.
“What was that?”
Shouto looks up, feeling a little lost. Midoriya stands in front of him but Shouto isn’t sure when he got there.
“I’m sorry?”
“The fire,” Midoriya clarifies. “I didn’t know you could make fire.”
“Didn’t you?” Shouto wants to ask, but instead he says, “I can but I don’t.”
“You can but you don’t,” Midoriya echos. Shouto doesn’t respond to that, he just looks back down at his left hand.
It feel like a long time, or maybe it’s not time at all. Shouto looks at his hand and thinks about fire, about his father’s pride, about the promise he made to himself. He’s so lost in thought that when Midoriya grabs his wrist, his left wrist, he flinches from the sudden sensation. When he looks at Midoriya’s expression he sees something in it that he doesn’t want to argue with and he lets Midoriya drag him from the stadium and through back hallways until Midoriya has pulled him to a quiet place.
“What does ‘I can but I don’t’ mean?” Midoriya asks him.
“My quirk is half-hot half-cold,” Shouto admits, “but I don’t use my flames because of my father.”
Midoriya stares at him for what seems like a long time and then says with something like anger, “You don’t use half of your quirk because of your father?”
So Shouto explains to Midoriya about Endeavor and Shouto’s childhood. Midoriya’s face goes from angry to slack with surprise to open with horror. When Shouto is done he feels drained and he walks away from a Midoriya who is too stunned to respond.
He wonders if Midoriya will ever talk to him again or if he will only think of Endeavor whenever he sees Shouto from now on and feels a new level of hatred for his father rise up within him. Midoriya is crazy to try most of the stunts he does without a quirk and yet, somehow, some part of Shouto is starting to respect that insanity and want Midoriya to respect him in turn. Losing to the shadow of his father makes his blood boil.
He finds out later that the third game is a simple one-on-one tournament and that if he and Midoriya both win their first matches they will fight each other.
Aa, I couldn’t fit the entire Midoriya vs Todoroki match in here with everything else or it would be way too long for the dashboard. I know what happens, though, if that makes anyone feel better? No? Didn’t think so.
Sorry this part is so boring.
If you’re looking for more part four is here, part five is here, part six is here.

re: Is adult Izuku in the past: … maybe.
@memelord878
Oh my goodness thank you so much if you did indeed donate~ Every little bit helps and I am so blessed to get any support you’re willing to offer. You are amazing and wonderful and I really hope you enjoy the second part~
Now, to continue with a slightly less panicking but yet still very confused and a very, uh, distracted Izuku. Part one of this AU can be found here. Shouto’s perspective on part one can be found here.
Todoroki’s apartment is nice. Like… really nice.
Izuku perches on the edge of a barstool at the kitchen island and tries not to stare. It’s weird, it doesn’t really fit the Todoroki Izuku knows. The TV is huge despite the fact that Izuku knows that Torodoki doesn’t much care for TV. There’s a china hutch on the back wall but instead of crystal it’s filled with rare hero merch, some of which Izuku recognizes as stuff he owns a copy of. There are pictures hanging on the walls, practically covering the pale paint with frames. The pictures contain glimpses into events Izuku doesn’t remember, places Izuku’s never been. Yet, somehow, in the pictures he’s there. Some of the pictures even contain people he’s never met.
“Here,” Todoroki says and Izuku looks at him, feeling a bit caught. He’s immediately distracted again.
Todoroki still hasn’t put on a shirt. His upper body is defined, covered in little lines here and there. He’s pulled his hair up into a messy bun to keep it out of the way, the red and white mingling in a way that makes it rather clear how desperately he needs a brush. The shorter strands hang around his face, wispy and light. They way they fall kinda into his eyes reminds Izuku of how Todoroki looked just yesterday, his hair the same as when they first met.
Izuku is so confused.
“Izuku,” Todoroki says. His eyebrows pucker slightly with something like concern. There’s a little scar through the white one that wasn’t there before and one on his chin that Izuku remembers. It’s faded, somehow, in the night. Also, does Todoroki have stubble?
“Izuku,” Todoroki says again, voice a little firmer and harsher.
“Yes!” Izuku cries, straightening up. Todoroki is so unfair. Why is Todoroki so unfair?
“Here,” Todoroki says again and this time Izuku follows the line of his shoulder to his arm and down, feeling his mouth go dry at the sight of muscles and pale skin scarred with faded lines. In Todoroki’s hand is a mug, which he’s offering to Izuku. “This will help you wake up.”
“Oh,” Izuku says. He numbly reaches out and takes it. It’s warm to the touch in a pleasant way and the smell of coffee rolls off of it when he brings it up to his face. “Thanks.”
Todoroki sighs. “How are you feeling?”
“Confused,” Izuku replies immediately.
Todoroki’s head tilts to the side slightly in a way that is painfully familiar. “I see.”
“It’s just, uh…” Todoroki leans back, away from the counter and into a standing position, and the movement makes Izuku lose his train of thought.
Holy shit. He’s really bulked up. Izuku’s seen Todoroki shirtless plenty of times. So many times. It’s kinda hard to avoid when they all change into their hero suits together on a fairly regular basis. It’s just one of those things Izuku’s had to deal with. He doesn’t remember Todoroki ever looking quite this… well proportioned.
“Muscles,” Izuku’s mouth says.
Todoroki’s eyebrows lift. “Muscles?”
Izuku puts down his coffee and follows it with his face, impacting the cool granite and wondering if God will see fit to kill him so he doesn’t have to have this conversation anymore.
“I’m sorry,” Izuku tells the countertop.
Todoroki laughs.
Izuku can’t help but lift his head to watch the rare event take place. Todoroki giggles, a small but genuine smile on his face. He looks fond and amused and like he’s having a good time. Izuku is caught between embarrassment and total awe.
It doesn’t take long for Todoroki to get himself under control. He stops laughing and gives Izuku a look somewhere between fond, exasperated, and content. “Izuku, have you seen yourself? If anyone has muscles it’s you.”
Izuku blinks at Todoroki almost uncomprehending for a moment before looking down at himself.
He was so busy having some kind of breakdown about waking up naked in Todoroki’s bed with an equally naked Todoroki that it didn’t even occur to him to check himself over. He’s not injured, that much is clear, but he looks different than he’s used to.
Many of the same scars are there, scars that Izuku knows well, but there are also new ones. Also, it looks like he might have had open heart surgery at some point? Beyond all that, though, there are muscles everywhere. Izuku works hard at bulking up, his muscle mass is directly proportional to his ability to control One for All, but he hadn’t been able to reach this level of definition yet.
He flexes and the marks on his skin jump. Including a cluster of fresh looking perfectly mouth shaped bruises just above his left hip.
Todoroki has a hickey. Izuku has a few hickies. They woke up naked together.
Implications are that they had sex.
Izuku doesn’t even remember having sex with Todoroki. What kind of injustice is that? What kind of universe lets the stars align and gives Izuku the opportunity to have sex with Todoroki and then takes the memories away?
And what is up with this apartment?
“I don’t understand what’s happening,” Izuku says. He lifts his head to look back at Todoroki, who derails Izuku’s thoughts yet again by his change in expression.
Todoroki’s eyes are on fire and now that Izuku knows they’re on him looking that intense he can’t help the goosebumps that lift on his arms and the blush that rises on his face and chest. He grips the counter hard and bites his lip and watches Todoroki’s eyes follow the movement of his mouth.
If he had sex with Todoroki again would he remember it this time?
“What’s with this apartment?” Izuku asks.
Confusion takes the intensity of Todoroki’s expression down a few notches. “What do you mean?”
“I mean how long have you had it? Why didn’t you tell anyone about it?” Why didn’t he tell Izuku about it. “And what’s with the pictures?”
All intensity leaves Todoroki’s expression. “Izuku, this is our apartment.”
“I’m sorry, what?”
Todoroki is starting to look concerned. Izuku is thinking he should look a bit more concerned because something doesn’t add up. “We have this apartment together? How intense was that dream?”
Dream? Izuku thinks back to his dream and suddenly a lot of things make a lot of sense in ways he almost wishes they didn’t.
“Oh my God,” Izuku says, standing with the force of his realization. Todoroki’s eyebrows climb at his tone but Izuku has to say it, has to make it real.
“Todoroki-kun, I think I just time traveled.”
Now with art and a bonus scene for part three~
