I hope Warrior Nun doesnt become the excuse, the norm. Yes the cast, crew and fandom fought like hell to keep the show going, and we did it. Does that mean the A league of their own cancellation is our fault? Are we gonna have to pick and chose what show we fight for, which ones we're gonna put our energy on? Is every cancellation gonna become a battle ground for queer people?
Fucking tired of this, already scared for the rights of my queer siblings, i dont want us to get erased from media too.

Heyo! I’m the anon that asked about being non-binary and using neo pronouns in French. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions!! I’m non-binary myself and I had absolutely no idea as to how my gender would translate in French. I’m really glad that there are pronouns and inclusive language even if it can be only used in small circles right now. I think it’s really cool that French feminists and queer people are creating their own ways of promoting gender equality in a language that has extremely strict gender rules and wording. I’ll definitely be using this info going forward!!
Happy to help 🥰
And yeah, so much queer/feminist joy when I'm surrounded by people who use inclusive language. It's both feeling seen and being able to experience progress in real time, it's an awesome sensation

(re) introduction post !
Hello I'm Max (they/he), 29, French, cat parent, librarian, gay and trans in every possible direction.
Back on this blog that started in 2011 after a 5 year break baby! In the real world I do a lot of activism (covid harm reduction, queer rights/aid and union work especially but I'm an intersectionnal antifa killjoy) and all my other socials have slowly become part of that so I need distractions to live.
I have a tag page (still being updated), All fandom ~contributions~ are under 'is this anything' I'm also cool on pinterest, and trying to write on AO3. Mutuals feel free to ask for insta/discord.
Previously known as Frenchrelovution, Punkrastination, and 10 years ago as Gallifreyantrickster (really exposing myself there, just in case old pals drop by)

Like honestly i am so tired of educating people who refuse to understand anything that doesn't entirely agree with them. You act like you love poc and minorities but you silence us
You say intersectionnality exists but refuse to apply that logic even in your arguments
You say porn is not violent when i said it is violent in terms of consequences. Like why do i have to justify that the main porn industry changes womens life negatively. Thats crazy, just go outside, look at the world, talk to people gosh

I’m going to be for fucking real. The way people speak about feminism on here is. Not good. « The issues with TERF isn’t even transphobia it’s radical feminism ». First of all what do you mean about radical feminism? That’s not that precise of an ideology? You wanna talk about self claimed « gender criticals » cunts say that. You wanna talk about political lesbianism and its issues say that. You wanna talk about bioessentialists say that.
But if you’re going to insist on the fact that the two opposing schools of feminism are « radical feminism » and « intersectionnal feminism » when Angela fucking Davis uses the term radical feminism (https://baystatebanner.com/2019/06/13/angela-davis-speaks-on-radical-feminism-at-bpl/), you better have some crazy good arguments to back it up.
I’m not even going to talk about the idea that « queer theory told those crazy feminists that it wasn’t as easy as men bad!! » you have not even read the first page of Judith Butler’s work nor neither of her interviews. You are acting as if buzzwords in Tumblr feud actually translate their academic meaning. You’re genuinely stupid, and you don’t even post about that inclusive feminism you claim to defend because you don’t actually care about it.

nah i didnt wanna engage but did you even read the first sentence i wrote… im saying the argument is terfy, not u in particular. dont wanna sound condescending but most of the things/jokes you say are influenced by dominant ideologies, especially in the case of misogyny, it's deeply rooted & intersectionnal. i dont wanna silence women wtf im suggesting we should probably say something else, something that isnt also a white supremacist argument used by actual governments to stop the reproduction of a particular group of people in favor of the reproduction of the white population. happy to help you self-criticize!

I mean your blog title references 'white men' so I was curious if you're a woman of colour.
"Do it with the confidence of a mediocre white man" don't worry that one stands regardless of my race - or yours, honestly. We can both keep our privacy as we remind ourselves that we are, actually, pretty amazing.
Btw : The original, as far as I know, is from Sarah Hagi, who twitted something like "God give me the confidence of a mediocre white dude" a few years back, when talking about her imposter syndrome (same, honestly)!

Bar Bahar (In Between), Maysaloun Hamoud (2016)
We went to see this movie with my wife last week at its french premiere, and it was so amazing!!! Not only does it holds strong on its feminist and intersectional standpoint, but it also has a soundtrack which is simply astonishing: https://soundcloud.com/barbahar/bar-bahar-mixtape :)

it's so fucking hard to explain to my family why talking about environmental racism is important and the fact that ecology is seen as a rich white people thing is problematic and that sustainable alternatives are always expensive. they just don't believe me or understand why we need to talk about these issues
i'm tired.

Sarah Rogers’ Mock Apple Pie
Square filled: Free x Canon Compliant for the @buckybarnesbingo (Buckuary Intersectionnal Bingo) Prompts from the @stuckybingo Server February’s party ‘Baking’ and @stucky-week ‘Sarah Rogers’
Relationships: Bucky/Steve Rating: G Warnings: N/A Tags: Bucky discovers B Dylan Hollis’ videos, baking, Sarah Rogers, canon divergent post endgame, everyone lives, Steve retires Summary: ‘Steve! Come on, get your ass over here! I found 21th century you on the internet!’ Word count: 570
Tumblr media
“Steve!" came from the living room
Bucky didn't seem distressed - if anything, he sounded very amused - so Steve only hummed in response.
“Come on, get your ass over here!" He grumbled.
"Why?" He was very cozy here, thank you very much.
“Come on, I found 21st century you on the internet!”
Alright. His curiosity was picked now. A 21st century version of him? What did Bucky mean by that?
Sighing, Steve got up then walked out of his mini-studio. In a few seconds he was next to his partner, who seemed to be laughing at his laptop. Steve dropped next to Bucky, who shifted to rest against his chest. He sneaked both arms around the brunet and placed his chin on his shoulder.
“What is it?”“Just look,” Bucky said, waving a finger at the screen.” Shuri sent me some weird recipe earlier, and I just found this guy.”
B Dylan Hollis, the name said. Huh, didn’t ring a bell. Although, the young man did look like he used to. Very thin, blond, blue eyes… yes, he could see the similarities.
“Oh but it gets better”, said Bucky who was looking at him from the corner of his eyes.
He clicked on what turned out to be a video, and after that came the most chaotic thing Steve witnessed in the last month - considering who his friends were, it was an achievement. It was amazing.
“Are there more?”
“Absolutely!”
Steve and Bucky rearranged themselves better, and they spent a solid ten minutes looking at this guy’s videos. The rice bread and carrot cake reminded them of their time, but the jello salad definitely made them seriously question the sanity of the people in charge of the food industry.
“Look at this one”, suddenly said Bucky, pointing at the screen. “Do you think it could be legit?”
“Only one way to know.”
Bucky nodded then clicked on a new video. ‘A fake apple pie, from the great depression’, the man announced. It did sound like a recipe straight from his Ma’s book.
They stopped watching after this one, saving the page to continue later. Instead, they got up, scoured their kitchen for Ritz crackers and when they found none, wrote down everything they needed and Steve left for grocery shopping.
When he came back an hour later, Bucky had everything already sorted out so they put away everything before Steve went to change into comfortable clothes.
The recipe seemed pretty straightforward - if you didn’t make your own dough, which they wouldn’t try today- so they set the oven to preheat right away.
Bucky played the video one last time, comparing it with the list he had scribbled down. Satisfied, he put the laptop away then -dramatically- cracked his knuckles. With a grin, he handed Steve the dough and the shell while he grabbed the crackers and the bowl. They set to work, talking about the last time they had seen someone cook this: Sarah Rogers, the year she fell sick. Talking about her, and after that Bucky’s family brought back memories and emotions they had almost forgotten, and they spent the time the pie cooked cuddling on their couch, a nature documentary as background noise.
Finally, the pie finished cooking, and they brought out small plates and went back on the couch.  They looked at each other before digging into the dessert.
The mock pie tasted like home.

Anders and Velanna had so much potential as actual friends in Awakening ugh
You had:
Anders, sarcastic little shit and still deep in Chantry propaganda, but mostly chill and with a clear softness to him
Velanna, unrepentant, proud and fierce defender of the Dalish way, deeply aware of how the humans have destroyed her culture.
And like. That could have been a whole storyline in which Anders learned to overcome his racism (because as much as I love him, intersectionnality is not his strong suit), and Velanna learned that softness did not have to be a weakness.
(I hc her as autistic and I think canon agrees. Anders tends to roll with the punches so I don’t see him being ableist in that case)
They could bond over magic and cats. ANDERS AND VELANNA FRIENDSHIP!
(Also I love Justice but I’ll never forgive him/Bioware for the whole “condemnation of their race led to your folly” bit. Like, dude. Their whole civilization needs to make amends for the elven genocide that is still ongoing during the Dragon Age. Velanna doing a couple of murders just doesn’t compare)

How to spot a TERF 101
They're transphobic. TERF means Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist for a reason. Watch out for feminists saying 'men are invading/colonizing our space' because it's a big dogwhistle for TERFs talking about trans women. As a rule, be mindful of who people include in their definition of women
They call intersectionnal feminists 'liberal feminists' and call themselves 'radical feminists/radfems'
They also often refer to themselves as universalist feminists. This movement claims to push all differences aside, saying all women are sisters and sexism is the n°1 oppression. Meaning it's full of 'white feminists' because this vision is the opposite of intersectionnality, it does NOT include class struggles, racial justice, queer pride etc
For the same reason they're opposed to groups/meetings that are 'poc only' etc. The only class in their book is cis women. If you criticize this view, if you want to include other issues, you're attacking them
They criticize 'libfems' for saying hijab (and religion in general)/shaving/makeup etc can be a choice. To radfems, those are the product of patriarchy and can, under no circumstances, be tolerated. If you disagree, it's because you're still oppressed and blind. For radfems there is only one right way to fight and individual liberties are an obstacle to that. (I'm not exaggerating)
Really, look out for feminists who are systemically against hijabs
They're in favor of abolishing prostitution (aka abolitionists) because they only view it as sexual exploitation/slavery
They think porn is inherently bad for exactly the same reason
BDSM is also a no for them apparently (why? i still haven't figured out but i guess it's supposed to be oppressive? idk, they have their own fucked up logic)
They're more often than not misandrists and claim that literally every single man on Earth is trash
lots and lots of victimization. TERFs are big cry babies who will Feel Attacked™ at the slightest thing, blow stuff out of proportion/wildly exagerate and accuse 'libfems' of the worst deeds and violence. They WILL lie to make themselves look like the victim so remember to stay critical of what you read and fact check
(bonus : if you're French, watch out for people linked to Marguerite Stern, she's like the TERF in chief here. So stay away from collages groups named 'l'amazone' because she created this movement and they're self proclaimed radfems. Be also wary of people who use 'la féminine universelle' aka people who genre au féminin absolutely every word, saying stuff like "cette lieue"/"elle y a", because they're often TERFs or linked to them. Same for people who use the word 'transactivisme'.)
Keep in mind that not every person who fits in one of these categories is a radfem, it's the pattern that proves it.
And remember that lots of people say stuff out of honest ignorance. Teaching them is more efficient than attacking them, because attacking them will only prove the radfem rhetoric and further radicalize them (even if you owe education to no one)
TL;DR : TERFs are transphobes who think individual liberties (ex : wearing a hijab) and fighting against other oppressions than sexism (ie classism, racism) are a threat to the fight against patriarchy. They're against prostitution, pornography and men
Reblogs are encouraged and please add stuff I forgot!
It is deeply, deeply beneficial to TERFs if the only characteristic of TERF ideology you will recognize as wrong, harmful, or problematic is "they hate trans women".
TERF ideology is an expansive network of extremely toxic ideas, and the more of them we accept and normalize, the easier it becomes for them to fly under the radar and recruit new TERFs. The closer they get to turning the tide against all trans people, trans women included.
Case in point: In 2014-2015, I fell headlong into radical feminism. I did not know it was called radical feminism at the time, but I also didn't know what was wrong with radical feminism in the first place. I didn't see a problem with it.
I was a year deep into this shit when people I had been following, listening to, and looking up to finally said they didn't think trans women were women. It was only then that I unfollowed those people, specifically; but I continued to follow other TERFs-who-didn't-say-they-were-TERFs. I continued ingesting and spreading their ideas- for years after.
If TERFs "only target trans women" and "only want trans women gone", if that's the one and only problem with their ideology and if that's the only way we'll define them, we will inevitably miss a vast majority of the quiet beliefs that support their much louder hatred of trans women.
As another example: the trans community stood relatively united when TERFs and conservatives targeted our right to use the correct restroom, citing the "dangers" of trans women sharing space with cis women. But when they began targeting Lost Little Girls and Confused Lesbians and trotting detransitioners out to raise a panic about trans men, virtually the only people speaking up about it were other transmascs. Now we see a rash of anti-trans healthcare bills being passed in the US, and they're hurting every single one of us.
When you refuse to call a TERF a TERF just because they didn't specifically say they hate trans women, when you refuse to think critically about a TERF belief just because it's not directly related to trans women, you are actively helping TERFs spread their influence and build credibility.
