Hanging out in the Gryffindor common room 🦁❤️

After several weeks of inter-house tournaments, Pandora and Peter, (among several other friends), gathered in the Gryffindor common room to finally see who is the greatest wizards chess player in all of Hogwarts. Despite Peter’s confidence in his chess skills, he lost in only 6 moves to Pandora. In his frustration, he transformed into a rat and accidentally ate one of the pawns.

Regulus was dragged to the event to support Pandora in her chess endeavors, but ended up fighting with his brother instead. Hair was pulled, arms were bit.

Mary has been playing Hotel California on repeat for the past 15 minutes. Marlene is trying to catch the snitch that James stole and subsequently let loose. James and Lily have been in lover’s bliss, and Remus just wants to take a nap.

Joint quidditch practices were Madam Hooch’s idea. Something about trying to quell inter-house animosity- blah blah blah.

In Regulus’ opinion the only thing useful about the joint practices is that they get to see first hand what a disaster the Gryffindor team is.

Like right now, Frank Longbottom and Marlene McKinnon are in a shouting match over which drill the group should work on next.

“No- NO! We can’t give them our best drills, Marlene, they’ll-”

“Oh for fucks sake, we have practice with them for the rest of term, what are we going to do? Never train to our full potential?!”

The Slytherin captain, Dorcas Meadowes, is watching the exchange with her trademark sharpness. She throws a look over at Regulus and cocks and eyebrow. He can practically hear her voice in his head, all brawn no brains, this lot.

He laughs at her and turns away, catching sight of James Potter. Staring at him.

Dorcas claps her hands together twice. “Alright, we’re going to move on to some partner work while those two finish their little spat.” She gestures with two lazy fingers over at Frank and Marlene and starts to draw a line in the mud with the heel of her boot. Marlene looks like she’s swallowed a pygmy puff.

“I call this one push-over.” Dorcas says as she finishes her line. She flicks another finger at Marlene. “You’re with me since you’re finished over there.”

Marlene splutters but stomps over all the same.

“Slytherins will be on this side of the line, Gryffindors on the other.” Dorcas indicates the line in the mud separating her and Marlene. “Knees bent, hinge slightly at the waist, and link your shoulders.” Dorcas gestures for Marlene to follow her lead and they end up with Dorcas’ left shoulder pressed to Marlene’s right, their cheeks practically smushed together. “The goal is to get to your opponent's side of the line.”

That’s all the warning Dorcas gives before she is barrelling into Marlene full force, the Gryffindor staggering back three paces. Dorcas catches her round the middle before she can go sprawling in the mud.

She keeps her hand in the curve of Marlene’s waist and turns to address the rest of the two teams. “Just like that. Go ahead and pair off. I’ll count you down.”

Marlene has gone bright red.

Regulus turns to see which Gryffindor he can goad into going against him and finds James Potter already waiting on the other side of the line. He doesn’t say anything, just bends over slightly and offers his shoulder to Regulus the way a knight might offer a lady his sword. Chivalrous. Condescending.

Regulus tries his best to scowl and hinges forward, slotting his shoulder in place against James’. He’s hot from their warm up, Regulus can feel his breath tickling at his neck.

“3, 2, 1-”

Neither of them hesitate, they’re pressing and shoving and heaving at each other. James is growling, the feeling of it vibrating through his chest and transferring to Regulus’ clavicle.

And Regulus is not going to win this. James is a chaser, broad and tall and fucking strong. Regulus is a seeker, he’s quick but he can’t-

James’ foot slips in the mud and he goes down, snagging Regulus’ kit so they land in a heap, Regulus directly on top of him.

James is gasping, heaving in the air Regulus unceremoniously squished out of him. Regulus is trying to catch his breath as well, very conscious of the fact that they’re only inches away.

“Thought you had that, did you?” Regulus says.

Sweat drips down James’ forehead and snags in the tail end of his eyebrow. “I’m right where I want to be, sweetheart.” James reaches his head forward and brushes their noses together. It’s a tiny touch, a fragment of a moment, and then James is dumping Regulus into the mud.

The game started, then he noticed somebody sitting across from him. "Is that Regulus ? ", he had never come to one of their parties before. Wearing a cropped sweater and a bored look, it is definitely Reggie. First spin, Lily and Marlene, Second spin Sirius and Remus,

"Stop hexing the bottle!"

James shouted at them making out, "Also get a damn room!"

The game continued and on the 5th game, it was James and…..

"Regulus? "James spoke in disbelief. Sirius and Remus had already been long gone, so it was just James and a few others. Regulus looked disgusted,but looked James dead in the eye "I am not kissing you".

Peter piped up"We hexed it so if you don't kiss, you will have green skin and croak for 24 hours, sorry Jamie"

"Oh shit"

Regulus looked like he just saw a ghost. James resolved" Well it is too late, do you want to look like a frog tomorrow Reggie?

Regulus, who is also pretty drunk, thought about this for a while before saying" One kiss, closed mouth". They both leaned it and their lips touched, James felt like a lightning just scorched him. Regulus pulled away, face pale and bolted from the Gryffindor common room.

Summary:

okay so hear me out the marauders band au is already an established thing right?

my take is remus - bass, sirius - voice + guitar peter - drums, james - guitar

but here’s the twist the skittles are also a band who are on tour at the same time

so dorcas - bass, pandora - voice, evan - drums, barty - guitar, reg - voice, guitar

lily and mary are their own duo who open for the skittles often and marlene is the manager for the marauders

the marauders and the skittles are rival bands who compete since they both have huge fanbases, but their tour buses break down while they’re traveling and they’re forced to interact

no ships would be established yet at all since both bands had a no inter-band dating rule and then everything goes out the window yay

it would probably end in wolfstar, jegulily, dorlene, and rosekiller (or maybe jegulus and pandalily)

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review Chapter 12

Okay, this collection of posts will be filled with spoilers, including clips and screenshots, so if you don't wanna see things, then don't look. Some of the things I'm gonna highlight will include references to Remake and other sources to link with the overarching plot. This is a straight path playthrough with no sidequests or extra content.

Onto the guilded saucer!

First things first, we gotta find Dio, and with arrangements made to represent him in a battle royale the next day (yeah it's the OG monster battles only way better) we head off to get some sleep.

Entering hotel we hear an announcement that a contest to become Rosa for the play is over and they're not accepting more entries, and yet as we pass Aerith we see her writing up an entry that she not only enters late, but wins. Because that's how things go when you're the Mary Sue and decide you wanna do something.

Yes this annoys me. If a contest is closed then you don't get to enter, let alone win. This is bullshit.

Anyway, Cloud has a two hr nap in which we get another sneak peek into Zack's world where he hears a bunch of confusing info from Marlene before heading off to find help for Cloud, but gets intercepted by a note from Biggs.

Back in the main scenario, Cloud has a date. What happens on each date is specific for Cloud's feelings to them, though all the dates are optional and there's no default.

Jessie plays a vr ballerina version of Rosa, which makes Tifa and Barret cry.

The second stage of the play is viewer interactive where the audience can take the role of a character in it.

There's three battles and some fun dialogue choices. If you confess to Varvados instead of Rosa, Barret breaks character for a second to be all "are you kidding me with this?" 🤣

The third act of the play is the contest winner singing. Yeah, I'm still annoyed they let her win a closed contest and somehow have music and production cued to the lyrics she hastily scribbled down within two hours of learning about the contest.

After the play is the gondola ride, although it's now called the sky wheel. Each date has a different conversation and plays out to a different mood depending on how Cloud feels about them.

In both Tifa and Aerith's dates we see a flashback to Tifa telling Aerith about how Cloud recalled Zack. This is before she started writing the song lyrics. Tifa tells Cloud she hasn't had a chance to. Aerith tells him nothing important was spoken about.

Tifa goes onto imply she's aware Aerith has feelings for Cloud, and Cloud reassures her the only one he has feelings for is Tifa before they share the only kiss in the game.

The following day we see the Turks on approach to the GS before we hit up the arena and get into a series of battles that ends in a second round against corneo and his sewer monster.

Obviously our heroes win and give him an extended cut of their threats from Remake before he runs off to go harass people in Wutai ready for part three.

The devs in a shady bit of piss taking, have Cloud and Tifa high five just like he did with Aerith in the last set of coliseum bouts.

With Dio triumphant, we're about to get the keystone when the Turks get in the way. Cait Sith betrays us and the party splits to chase his traitorous ass down.

Cloud, Tifa and Aerith are our trio for the rematch against the Turks but before we're done, Rufus shows up for another one on one with Cloud.

Why? Who knows. He's a petulant sob who doesn't like losing 🤷

After Cloud kicks corporate ass, we go on a kitty hunt, but one that's more serious than finding Tifa or Betty's kitties.

When we finally catch up to Cait, it's too late to stop him. The Turks leave and Cait has to face the music. Tifa stops Barret from shooting him, but everybody has had enough and leaves him behind after Vincent lets them know he can find the Turks location.

The play itself is the bulk of the chapter and we get three different versions of it. I honestly have very little interest in Loveless and I found the first part kinda dull. The interactive part is fun and also has slight differences in dialogue and actions between each of his dates. I've only played Tifa's because, frankly, idgaf about the other dates. The intimacy between Cloud and Tifa on the sky wheel is everything and I'm so glad they showed how proactive Cloud is with her. He initiates the kiss and everything else. He engages her with conversation. He's the one staring at her while she's looking at the fireworks. He's being shown as very much into her.

the one thing i wish we had is another scene between marlene and ellie, now that show watchers really understand the connection between them. imagine if we watched marlene make that decision to kill ellie, just after telling her about anna; how brave she was, up until the very last moment. marlene couldn’t kill anna until she took a moment to breathe and steeled herself, shifting to autopilot.

imagine if we saw marlene laugh with ellie, fully realize how similar she is to her mom. fully realize she’s going to have to kill this child to save the world (according to the information she has.) i almost wish we saw anna’s backstory here—inter spliced between scenes of marlene + ellie and/or marlene + the doctor and the other fireflies, telling her what needs to be done.

besides following the game more closely, i think mazin/druckmann wanted to narrow the focus of 1x09 to ellie and joel to really show how only one choice is possible here, narratively. (they may discuss this in the podcast, which i haven’t listened to yet.) but there was some room in the adaptation to linger here more, i think.

James Potter was an intolerable prick. A dim-witted, egotistical toerag who wasn't worth Lily's time. Well, unless, in the case of a good telling-off, that was very much worth it. This was true right up until the last few weeks of fifth year when Lily's whole life was flipped on her head, and she was left to work out what in Merlin's name to do with it.

Now... hear me out. This isn't exactly my best fic but it is my first!

Despite being many years old, it has never been finished and the initial version was very bad. There are actually many more chapters published on Wattpad—oh my—that you can go find if you're interested in poorly-written long-winded Jily fanfiction with little to no plot.

It has been undergoing a very big rewrite for a year+ now, the finished chapters of which are on AO3.

13. outside centre- PANDORA LOVEGOOD- now when my brain is in its rosier twin mind set, pandora is no.5 instead of barty just cause i see her as vv muscular. but i put her here because it also just worked.

14. right wing- GRANT CHAPMAN- could also be swapped for benji fenwick but i chose grant just cause it worked

15. full back- MARY MACDONALD- tell me that thomas ramos + freddie steward aren’t mary varients.

i also feel like they’d do inter house and then this would be the between schools team. and fir like their big defeat that breaks them (aka the learning point) the match would be a replica of the IRELAND vs FRANCE 2023 six nations match, w/ this team as france.

"Inter-house parties are so much more fun than normal ones" thought James. A voice snapped him out of it." James! James! Jamesie!", Sirius calls. It was the middle of the party, music blaring and everybody was tipsy, or drunkenly wasted, like James. 

The game started, then he noticed somebody sitting across from him. "Is that Regulus ? ", he had never come to one of their parties before. Wearing a cropped sweater and a bored look, it is definitely Reggie. First spin, Lily and Marlene, Second spin Sirius and Remus, 

"Stop hexing the bottle!"

James shouted at them making out, "Also get a damn room!"

The game continued and on the 5th game, it was James and….. 

"Regulus? "James spoke in disbelief. Sirius and Remus had already been long gone, so it was just James and a few others. Regulus looked disgusted, but looked James dead in the eye, "I am not kissing you".

Peter piped up"We hexed it so if you don't kiss, you will have green skin and croak for 24 hours, sorry Jamie"

"Oh shit" 

Regulus looked like he just saw a ghost. James resolved" Well it is too late, do you want to look like a frog tomorrow Reggie"?

Regulus, who is also pretty drunk, thought about this for a while before saying" One kiss, closed mouth". They both leaned to it and their lips touched, James felt like lightning just scorched him. Regulus pulled away, face pale, and bolted from the Gryffindor common room.
