Harry had been threatening to buy a cowboy hat just about every time she stepped into the bar since she moved to town, and Benny knew it was only a matter of time. The second he saw her walk up and seat herself at the counter, he had to fight the urge to laugh. Benny gave her a shake of his head before he made his way over to her seat, clearing his throat. "You're goin' to be real pissed when I tell you that you just screwed yourself with the hat thing," he warned, "because I wasn't kidding when I told you to get one from someone here. If you steal a cowboy's hat, it means you're supposed to... Well, you're a smart girl, I'm sure you catch my drift. Not bad, though, it looks like you actually could pass for a real Texan, at least until you open your mouth."

Maggie was scrolling through her phone on the couch, killing time before she had to head to the dance studio to teach some classes. She had found Harry by chance, really, but they were so in sync on so many levels that it was almost as if fate had brought them together as roommates. After her last roommate, Maggie was relieved to find someone she didn't just like living with but enjoyed spending time with. She glanced up as soon as she saw Harry entering the living room, setting her phone down. "Harry Bear," she said, "what are you doing for the 4th? Want to pig out on hot dogs and burgers at my mom and dad's? You can see the fireworks from their backyard, we always have this big shindig with plenty of food and booze. There will also be lots of singles there to get your mingle on with. Really, you can't possibly say no, it's going to be a blast. Plus, Eli will be bringing cupcakes, I'm sure, along with god knows what else that mind of his comes up with."

Kit had caught on pretty quickly that Harry was into him—or at least into the idea of him. Whatever it was, she usually ended up looking like a cartoon character with hearts bugging out of her eyes any time he stuck around for too long at Vinyl Destination, and it'd be a flat out lie to say he didn't enjoy the attention. Kit was human, after all, and very much enjoyed when he was the view someone was appreciating.

Any time he stopped by, he would immediately check to see who was working. Thankfully, he found Harry behind the counter today and not the somewhat boring owner. "Howdy, Miss Harry," he said the second he spotted her, tipping his hat. Instead of heading directly to the racks of cassette tapes, Kit angled his steps toward the register. "How come I haven't seen you over at the Barrel lately? You aren't mad at me, are you? If you're avoiding me, I don't know if I'll ever make it through."

your tags are interesting. Why do you think they have broken up? I am just curious . I don’t really have an opinion anymore it was only noticeable that since 2022 things turned really silent on their side wrt signaling or references. As you say, we dont know.

I mean we haven't had anything solid to go off for many years now, so my belief they were together was in many cases fueled by just the suggestion of things and even more often by what they DIDN'T do. Location stuff was a big factor; for many years they still surfaced in the same places at the same times way more often than would make sense for two busy world travelers by coincidence for example, and also had an uncanny ability to coordinate their calendars to AVOID each other publicly even so. I don't know, I don't actually want to get into the this and that of specific moments or whatever because I don't actually care about trying to convince anyone of anything, but personally watching details during a time when I believe they were together and then now... I came to feel that that was no longer the case. Others feel otherwise! But I will say that for me, signaling is the least important factor in what and completely unconvincing to me as a reason to think they are still together, because I don't think that's what they use the signaling for anymore. I think they both, in maybe different ways but maybe not, use it both to wave at the larries and get us excited, but also to signal that yes they are gay and they appreciate being seen and our support, rather than yes I am gay and in a relationship with this person. It's shrodinger's boyfriends though, like that's where I'm at today but if we found out tomorrow that they were still together (or there was even really compelling evidence of it)? I would not be shocked. It's very possible! It's just not what I personally think seems to be going on rn.

it's been a few days since harry and gwen's last interaction. he's stayed in touch with her through felicia and a phone call here and there, but for the most part, they haven't found themselves occupying the same space for longer than a friendly wave. harry dove deeper into his experiments and was on the verge of a breakthrough when one of his guards informed him than gwen was granted entrance into the building. "bring her down." / @hcpefell

he was in the middle of a very serious negotiation with the lobby vending machine when someone collided into him at full speed, sending his water tumbler flying ( and his dignity ) right along with it. "jesus—" felix started, but then he turned to face them - wide eyes, out-of-breath, clutching a coffee cup like it was a lifeline - and, well, he wasn't exactly mad anymore. "you always body-check strangers or am i just special?" he teased, stepping back just enough to get a better look. they were flustered, clearly in a rush, but there was a certain electric aura, like they could talk their way in or out of anything if given five uninterrupted minutes. "please tell me you're here to fix this thing," he nodded at the vending machine, "because i'm one lost snack away from a full breakdown."
