"i swear no one will miss you. it's just one night. come on." felix said in his most persuasive tone, pulling every tactic in the book as he extended a hand to help them out the window. it wasn't often that he went out of his way for someone, but when they divulged that they had never gone to a real party, he couldn't resist being the first to introduce them to a world they'd yet to step foot in. unexplored territory combined with their endearing innocence... what could go wrong?

the blankness in his expression said it all — he didn't have the faintest idea what she was referring to. a video...? mentally scratching his head, a lightbulb of epiphany came over him as felix thought of the only video she could possibly mean. a night out celebrating a wrap party for a film she had a starring role in and he had executively produced involved way too much alcohol consumption which subsequently led to terrible decision-making. "shiiit...." he ran an aggressive hand through his hair, lips pursing together as he pulled out his phone, turned off do not disturb mode and was instantly bombarded by notification after notification pinging on the screen. "looks like my pr guy's already strategizing how to spin this." felix glanced up from the mobile device to look at her, almost forgetting how much of a stain to her reputation and public image this would be. placing his hand on her shoulder, he reassuringly traced circles with his thumb against her skin. "are you okay?"

“Did you check your fuckin’ phone? It’s everywhere... that video—” Frustration burned in her throat, words failing to assist her. After the dreaded call from her manager, she couldn’t deal with the idea of even looking at people’s comments, so she didn't; instead, she’d thrown her phone on her bedside table and decided to do what she did best in times of crisis: point accusing fingers at someone else. “Oh, my God, I knew it was a terrible idea.” Bullshit, she’d been nervous, sure; but also incredibly excited.

"i never realized how much i needed you until you weren't there." he cleared his throat, unsure of where that came from, but clearly it needed to be said because he felt a weight lift off of his shoulders the moment he did.

it would take a fool not to recognize how out of place alodie looked and felt, although he was sure no one took notice in part due to the raucous nature of the party. he half-wondered if he should've taken her to something more lowkey to ease her into the party scene, but it's too late now. stealing a glance at her, his hand's about to reach for hers to give her a sense of stability through physical touch, but she somehow reads his mind and holds his hand first. his primary mission at the moment is to get her settled in, perhaps even comfortable, and shake the deer in headlights look written all over her composure. "abso-fucking-lutely. a drink sounds really good to me." leading her to the bar, felix is quick to flag down someone to take their drink orders. "what's your poison?" he turns to her and asks.
as she trails behind him past her yard and onto a neighboring lawn, regret rises up her spine. is it too late to turn back now? she's still at home, technically, could turn around and call it a night like none of this ever happened, seems all so appealing to tuck herself in the warmth of her comforter and lull herself to sleep. she lets herself push past her cowardice, suppresses the voices of doubt that cloud her mind, guided by the reassurance that it won't be anything too unfamiliar. she trusts him enough, evident in the fact that she's allowed him to drag her out of the comfort of her home into a scene she's completely unfamiliar with.
she's practically attached to his hip as they enter, reduced to nothing but a scared puppy on a leash. wide eyes take in the scene that unfolds around her, bright lights cast upon her soft features, ears aggressively harassed by the loud blaring music that encompasses the bar. it's not as bad as she'd initially thought it'd be. he was right about the fact that there'd be a multitude of familiar faces, she waves awkwardly at those who recognize her, hand clasping and unclasping around his in an attempt to mask her unease. there's a voice tugging at her ( one she can hardly even hear over the noisy atmosphere ) telling her to give in. still has her guarded demeanor up, walls around her mind to ensure she's protected from what could go wrong. the optimistic side of her supposes that not much could go awry if she's at felix's side, thinks she shouldn't waste an opportunity like this due to fear. she turns to the taller male, peering up at him with a nervous smile. ❛ i want a drink. is that okay? ❜

felix didn't think she would agree without giving him some pushback, but he sure wasn't about to question this golden opportunity to take her out. "i don't believe in regrets." he replies in an equally playful quip as he helped alodie onto the grassy front lawn of her home. "no such thing as a curfew tonight either." his lips turn upwards into a lighthearted smirk as he led her to his car parked out nearer to her neighbor's to avoid suspicion. "one of the producers is throwing an impromptu thing at this tapas bar, so there'll be plenty of familiar faces. you're more than welcome to stick by me, though." moments later, they reach their destination, the distant vibrations of house music and conversation hitting his eardrums and ushering in a shot of anticipation for the night to come. he could feel her apprehension from a mile away, immediately grabbing her a hand and giving it a squeeze. "i promise this party won't bite." he flashes her a reassuring smile before gently tugging her along.
alodie gives in to his antics, not often where she's granted an opportunity like this. she's sure she'll regret it in the morning, when her manager finds out and scolds her for it, but she's not concerned with that now. all too focused on taking felix's hand in hers so she can balance herself as she climbs through the window. finds it ironic that even at her age, she's still sneaking out of her childhood bedroom like a schoolgirl. ❛ please don't make me regret this. ❜ words are spoken playfully, once her feet are planted on the ground.
