DOES FRAGRANCE IN SKINCARE IRRITATE YOUR SKIN? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT FRAGRANCE IN SKINCARE? COMMENT BELOW… _______________________________________________________ I really, really want to love this oil. It’s got so much going for it — including a powerful blend of both Retinol and Bakuchiol and a multitude of replenishing non-fragrant plant oils. Instytutum’s Powerful RetinOil even contains nourishing algae extract and antioxidant, fortifying plant stem cells. But. And it’s a huge BUT. It is so fragrant it’s almost unusable. There are numerous fragrant components including Bitter Orange Flower Oil, Jasmine Flower Extract, Linalool, Limonene, Farnesol and Eugenol. I’ve said it multiple times and it always bears repeating, “fragrance isn’t skincare.” In the case of the Instytutum Powerful RetinOil, the fragrance lingers on your face for hours. I’ve pushed myself to test this nightly over the course of two weeks and just couldn’t do it regularly. Many nights I was like “Oh hell no.” Even so, the 5-6 nights that I did use it, I saw no skin irritation from either the fragrance or the Granactive Retinoid (the same form used in The Ordinary’s popular $9-$13 retinoid serums). And you know how much I love a good Bakuchiol serum! This just isn’t one of them. Bakuchiol is the 4th ingredient and given that the industry standard is 1-2% of the Retinol alternative in a product formula, everything else that comes after it in the INCI is likely at or below 1%. The first ingredient is Sweet Almond Oil, a wonderfully replenishing non-fragrant plant oil. Third is Jojoba Seed Oil, also an excellent moisturizing active. There’s plenty of nourishment and numerous soothing botanical extracts in the formula, which likely ameliorates the irritation from the fragrance, including Bisabolol — the active component of soothing chamomile. Powerful RetinOil is a real mixed bag. Recently i came across the new korean skincare brand #bonajour and I fell in love with their products. I have reviewed the mugwort clay mask before and I really like it except for the quantity we are getting. The extreme spot serum contains 73% centella Asiatica and came in 50ml and 100ml as well. The formulation is gel like which absorbs into the skin easily without creating any film, if you have sensitive skin you may feel a little bit of tingling sensation. It does help in repairing the skin and fading the acne spot but it is not a treatment specific for the acne spot so i works slowly. Overall I really like it . The propolis serum contains 81.5 % propolis extract and acne free components which means it is meant for trouble skin. This gel has a tiny bit of honey color to it and is more viscous that the spot serum but leaves the skin moisturise , i think most skin type will love the finish of this one as it absorbs easily into the skin. I like it and i does make my skin look better but I wouldn’t be relaying on this one as a treatment for acne but overall it is a lovely serum especially for the people who are looking for propolis product which is not tacky and absorbs easily . Both @bonajour_official serums does not have any prominent scent to them . . As the weather starts to get hotter it’s the perfect time to start looking at products that will keep your skin looking cool and fresh throughout the day. There are lots of water sprays out on the market, and I have tried lots of them believe me, but this one by the swiss brand Instytutum really stands out from the crowd. It releases a light refreshing mist that is full of some great active ingredients such as sea heather, provitamin B5, samphire extract and a mineral complex. These are all designed to hydrate and protect the skin. You can spritz it over the skin post cleansing but I can imagine keeping this in my bag all summer to refresh during the day…

 Wen are well known for their cleansing conditioners. If you are unfamiliar with the concept these are non-lathering cleansing products so they don’t strip your hair with nasty detergents, sulfates or harsh chemicals. This one is a limited edition fragrance which is perfect for spring time. It is designed for all hair types and textures and has a great antioxidant and amino acid rich formula so really hydrates and protects at the same time as cleansing. Just be sure to read the instructions on how much to use depending on your hair type/ length. I also love that you get a lot of bag for your buck with this product. It comes in a huge 32floz bottle for only $40. That should keep you going for quite a while…

 A great product for adding volume to straight or curly hair. You can spray this into wet, damp or dry hair but I personally like to use it to give my hair some lift and texture when I have towel dried it before blow drying. It has a great uplifting scent that I think guys and girls would like.

 This product is a bit of a body cleansing revolution. It applies the same principle of the cleansing conditioner to skincare.  So it is non lathering and free of nasty surfactants that can strip the skin of their natural oils. Why not treat the skin on your body with the same respect as your hair or the skin on your face? I loved how luxurious and moisturizing this felt on my dry skin.

  While on the topic of dry skin this body treatment that was also in the goodie bag is amazing for dry skin. It contains lovely soothing ingredients such as arnica and Vitamin K as well as amino acids to nourish and protect. The lavender, eucalyptus and mandarin peel oils give it a wonderfully rich scent that makes me feel like I’m being pampered in a spa.

 Medisoul Lashes Thickener ($37.64)and Lips Plumper ($21.16) available on Amazon

 Who doesn’t want longer thicker lashes and fuller lips. These products by Medisoul are designed to do just that. The Lash+ product contains marine ingredients, peptides and polysaccharides designed to provoke the body into producing stronger thicker longer lashes. The Lip plumper is designed to naturally increase hydration and reduce lip wrinkles and furrows. I have only just started using them but apparently I should see results in fourteen days. I will keep you posted…

Hope everyone is doing fine. Some of products which i have been using lately. . Absolutely loving the @keepcool_global ocean deep blue oil and love to mix it my serum and creams. It contains jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, Cyperus esculentus root oil, Olive fruit oil, sweet Almond oil, rosa Canona fruit oil, Macadamia and Moringa seed oil. It does not any artificial color or fragrance and it also contains the eggplant fruit extract which helps against the acne. I really like to use it under the makeup as well and it absorbs into the skin easily leaving it smooth and well moisturized. Another oil i am enjoying is from @instytutum and it’s amazing, i have been using it 3 times a week at night time and it really smooths out the skin texture and leaves the skin soft and smooth.
