16.12.2015 The famous instagram tree that serve its purpose. That after today all one can see there are a void of empty space where some says it will make way for new building (with the nearby already on-going construction). How many of us have travel all the way there to have a shoot of it or have a shoot with it. The tree that stands alone day and nite until one fine mr thunder decided to strike on it and half of the tree gave way but ppl are still gg over for it. I was there before half of it gave way n it seems like something that happened not long ago. Punggol waterpark will not be the same with the lone tree gone. Yes ppl will discuss abt why the decision to remove it. But as times goes, everyone will forget abt this lone tree even exists there. Human beings moves on fr the past and how many of us will rem the memories this lone tree once bring us. How many of us will rem once a time many of us instagrammers flock to this tree to have it capture so that we can post it on our ig. 📷 using Blackbird Xpro Chrome 100 35mm C41 #lonetree #igtree #punggol #instagramtree #igsg #tree #nature #ahvonphotography #nofilter (at Punggol Waterway Park)

Places to take pictures in Singapore (PUNGGOL WATERWAY PARK)
Hello! This is my second post. Even though I don’t have any followers or readers, I will still share my pictures so it is kinda like a diary to me. Perhaps, one day, my blog will be found? HAHA, who knows.
For my second post of ‘Places to take pictures in Singapore’, I recommend Punggol Waterway Park. Punggol Waterway Park is an AMAZING national park in Singapore. It is filled with many areas to take great pictures! The park has 2 areas that is especially popular among Singapore Instagrammers. Want to know? I will tell you right now!
The first area is the famous Instagram Tree!
Tumblr media
I took this picture around late afternoon to early evening, so it has a dark, mysterious feel to it. This tree is extremely popular with many Instagrammers taking lots of pictures like an OOTD pic, or a photoshoot. Trust me, some couples had their wedding photoshoot with the tree. And no, the tree is not alive. It is actually dead with some thriving vine-like leaves. Do go early as the area is extremely crowded, depending on your luck. In my case, I had to sort of ‘queue up’ just to take a decent shot of the tree. Go on weekdays when there are lesser or no people!
The second area is the Punggol Lalang Field!

This area is different from the Instagram Tree. What is the difference? The difference is that this place is quite difficult to find. Truthfully, when I first go to Punggol Waterway, I couldn’t find this lalang field at all. Really, I actually walk from the start of the park, all the way to end and I still can’t find it. it is only during my second trip, did I found the place. This place is actually hidden and there’s a ‘secret’ path to walk just to get there. It is not easy to find. But thanks to this blog that I found on the Internet, my friends and I somehow able to get there with much difficulties.
Tumblr media
Try your best to get to the famous Lalang field! Take note that the path to the Lalang Field is not on the main pathways. You have to cut through an area of plants and flowers to get there. I will further describe the area as best as I can.
Other than the 2 popular areas, the whole park itself has many nice places to take a nice decent picture! Here are some pictures I took.

Okay, Please take note of this horse-shoe shape bridge. The Lalang field is near this area. Refer to the map given just now, and you see a horseshoe shape area. That is the bridge shown above. Get down on the spiral staircase and turn to your right. The lalang field is around the area. So when you turn right and walk, look carefully at the branches or flowers on the left. You will see a sandy path among the grass. That is the ‘secret’ path you have to walk to get there. The lalang field is not that far from the bridge.
To get to Punggol Waterway Park, take the LRT train from Punggol MRT station and alight at Damai station. You have to walk a bit of distance to get to the park. There is a path to get to the park.
Explore the park as much as you can. The park is super big and span across quite a few LRT stations. If you want to get to the Lalang Field, you will have to alight at a different stop to get there.
Alight at Riveria from the same Punggol LRT station. Walk towards the big amphitheater and walk past the police station, then popeyes and walk to the famous red bridge.
Okay, this is the end of my post for Punggol Waterway Park!
