max looks up when she feels the eyes on her and has to physically hold herself back from rolling her eyes. she does, however, let out a scoff - though not loud for nini to hear it. "you know you don't have to keep staring at me like i'm going to start floating again, right?" she thinks this whole idea of 'max watch' is a little ridiculous in the first place. she has kate bush on a loop around her neck, she's fine. "you can go curl up and get some sleep like the others. i won't tell nancy."

"you need to calm down." alex says, and it comes out a lot more snippy than he intended, but he can't help it. they feel stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, their nerves frazzled and on end. "you're being too loud." again, he's really trying not to sound like a dick, everything just feels like too much right now. "can you ... just not?" a pause. "please." is tacked on.

ricky grins at her, watching her giggles as he stands in front of her, hands on either side of her body as he sort of traps her between himself and the boards. it's nice, the way they can just mess around and have fun like this now.   ❝    what's the magic word?   ❞    he teases through laughter of his own, looking down at his girlfriend in a way that practically asks her to just pull him that slightest bit closer to kiss him. a lot and not much has changed since winning worlds, but this is one of his favorite things- just really and completely enjoying their practices together, not caring for a second who's watching.
