And here are my notes on my inspirations and references. There's a lot of 'em, so instead of embedding relevant images one by one I put them in a callout sheet! For accessibility, I also included transcript (with bonus ramblings) below each sheet.

Ofuda circle modeled in Google Sketchup 2017, then lightly transformed in Photoshop to flare out. I tried my best to hand-draw these, but it the results came out really clunky and stiff. I figured if Mononoke shamelessly utilizes 3D in their show, I can too!
Krill and sky kid composition roughly inspired by the Ayakashi DVD cover illustration. On the surface level, the krill's black-and-red color scheme mirrored that of the bake-neko. Not to mention, in the world of Sky, the krill would be the best fit of a mononoke-like entity. The red background is also a nod to the red skies seen during a shard eruption in Sky.
Sky kid gesture based on the Festival Spin Dancer's Tier 3 poses and the Medicine Seller's iconic pose in the Zakishiwarahi episode as inspiration. This was the idea which springboarded this illustration into existence. I wanted to do my take of the Medicine Seller's pose, but in a more dynamic manner: rotate the pose to a profile position and set the ofuda in a diagonal, flared out arrangement.
Cape inspired by tenbin design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. This one's an interesting one - I wanted the cape to be a stiff material that doesn't "flap" when in flight - similar to the Aurora wing capes. It ended up looking like a kite of sorts, which I'm not entirely opposed to! I haven't had the opportunity to showcase the back view of this cape design, but I envision it having some mechanical aspects to it - the "wing" which are flared out in this illustration fold in like moth wings, and a little bell is attached to the "tail" part and it jingles a little whenever the sky kid flaps!
Bandana is based on the Scaredy Cadet's hairstyle from the Season of Assembly. Mask design utilizes the 2023 Days of Style mask and the Nintendo Pack mask as bases. Pretty self-explanatory. I basically went onto the Sky wiki and found the cosmetics that most closely matched what I was looking for. Then if necessary, I went to the Office space to do photoshoots to get the appropriate camera angles for them all.
Seasonal pendant inspired by the classic Medicine Seller's necklace and the eye motif featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. Possibly the only one-to-one homage to the classic Medicine Seller design here, but his garnet necklace was too good of a match to the seasonal pendant. A side tangent: does the new Medicine Seller possess a necklace, let alone a mirror? So far all the shots of him don't feature it. Fascinating.

Dark dragon krill anatomy references a custom figurine crafted by @/escaflowne_n07 on Twitter. Until I found this, I was honestly at a loss finding reference for this - be it on the internet or during in-game photoshoots. The lighting on the krill in-game focused on its menacing silhouette rather than its structure. And not to mention, getting a close-up shot almost always set off the dark creature's aggro. I have no idea how this guy found the references to put this model together - well done!
Mantas, elder constellations, and sun dog references murals in the Cave of Prophecy. Krill aside, the overall illustration was leaning a little too much towards Mononoke so I tried finding opportunities to insert more Sky into it. Added bonus is that now there's storytelling in the background: during a shard eruption, a giant krill rises from the frothing waves of dark water to hunt down a flock of mantas.
Clouds behind the sun dog reference the ones featuring heavily in the Umibozu episode. This illustration has a lot of ocean theming, so I figured this would be appropriate.
Rendering style of the background is lightly inspired by the 2007 Mononoke illustration. Mainly having a 2D inked style to contrast with the more polished render of the sky kid. Funnily enough, this was a tertiary inspiration, which lead to the discovery in the next point!
Dark water waves and sun dog composition heavily references Hokusai's "The Great Wave". The waves were modified to be bottle-green of the Golden Wasteland's dark waters. The sun dog is in the spot where Mt. Fuji is in the original composition. these were all hand-drawn by the way! I merely emulated the style of the source material. As a side note, I also borrowed the spotted sea spray rendering for the krill's red spotlight.
Background pattern taken from the ofuda design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie poster. Mainly to add some gritty texture to the sky. I worked pretty hard to replicate this ofuda design as a high-res asset so I wanted to use it more!

Nicola Francesca hurried down the street in the frosty December night, his thick, woolen long coat doing little to keep the chill at bay and affirming how appropriate his decision was to have you wait inside the restaurant instead of traveling to retrieve their chauffeur. You would catch the death of cold this late in the evening when the sun had long gone down and the sky had pulled back the blanket of clouds that kept the warmth in. He might catch a cold at this rate, though the thought of his love nursing him back to health wasn’t a bad one.
Quickly, Nicola pulled open the passenger door in the backseat and slipped in, clapping his leather-glove clad hands together to try to bring some heat back to them. The driver who had been waiting inside gave a start, but as soon as he recognized Nicola he turned the engine and the car groaned to life.
“Is the Missus still inside?” Their driver asked, slowly moving the vehicle towards the restaurant from where he had been parked.
Nicola’s eyes cut to the man in the front seat, the suspicious squint that needled the back of his head went unnoticed in the dark. “Of course she is. I wouldn’t subject her to this weather for longer than necessary.”
He tried to recall the name of the man who had dared to inquire about his love; was it Lorenzo? Usually Nicola had no problem handling all the information pertaining to their family’s large network, but the driver happened to be new, and he hadn’t had the chance to thoroughly investigate him. He’d have to look into that when they get back home, and perhaps Lorenzo would find himself a new schedule to work. One away from you.
The car stopped again and Nicola alighted from it, his long legs making the journey to the lobby of the building a brief one. A doorman inside quickly opened the door for Nicola to sweep in and collect his woman who was surely lonesome waiting for him. Except that once he got inside, his love was not alone, and even seemed to be preoccupied in conversation with another man who was acting entirely too familiar with you.
“What’s this?” He tried to sound pleasant as he inserted himself into the situation, wrapping his arm around your waist. “An old friend of yours? I thought I knew all of your friends, my love.”
You flashed a warm smile up at Nicola, leaning into him as he pulled you closer, and further away from the other man. “Oh, Nicola, this is Giovanni, someone I used to play with when I was growing up. He recently returned from schooling in Naples. Giovanni, this is Nicola Francesca, my betrothed.”
Giovanni’s smile dipped when he heard Nicola’s name, a reaction Nicola felt a small sense of enjoyment at seeing. As part of the Falzone mafia that had long been the ruling family in Burlone, Nicola knew exactly the type of reputation his name carried, and he wouldn’t deny that it pleased him that even someone who had left Burlone for a number of years was aware of who he was. Giovanni must be a smart boy, fancy paper education notwithstanding.
“How fortunate you were, my love, to have such a respectable man keeping you company until my return.” Nicola kept his eyes on your childhood friend who was growing paler by the second. “But I’m afraid it's time to depart. The car is outside and I wouldn’t want– er… Giovanni, was it? We don’t want to trespass on his time any longer.”
Giovanni nodded and agreed, uttering a weak goodbye to you and an even weaker handshake to Nicola before he retreated into the restaurant. Nicola guided you to the doors, and out into the night, ushering you to the car before the night chill could kiss you the way he found himself suddenly needing to do.
Once they had closed themselves into the small car, it seemed to grow in size as you shimmied across the seat to give Nicola space. You were far too far away for his liking, and he rectified that by sliding next to you and leaning into your space to capture your lips in a long and hot kiss.
You attempted to retreat, leaning back towards the opposite door, but he followed you, pressing into you relentlessly. He had a dark desire to show you how deep his love was, to push it on you and have you receive it, accept it, and embrace all of him the way he wanted to embrace all of you. You moaned into his mouth, reaching the point where you melted into his affections and no longer leveled protests a proper lady would be expected to give, drinking up the fount of passion he was offering.
He liked the way your noises reverberated in his own mouth. He liked the way your lips and tongue tasted, the wine from the evening meal making your kisses even sweeter than usual. And he liked the way you gave yourself to him; even through the layers of clothing, heavy coats, and gloves, he could feel you shift and writhe into his heavy caresses and grasping gropes.
“Nic–ah!” You aimed to call his name, to remind him that they weren’t alone in their own room and that there was someone not three feet away from the two of them, hopefully not paying attention to them panting and petting in the back of the car. He knew you would, but Nicola didn’t want to hear it and instead nipped at your jaw, which caused you to throw your head back and cease the soft reminder.
“Don’t you want to keep warm, cara mia?” Nicola teased, running his nose from where he nipped along your jaw to your ear where his heated breath could gust against your neck. “It’s cold out, tonight, my love. I must do my duty to keep you from freezing, agreed?”
Nicola knew the protests were left over from your upbringing. He was the underboss of the Falzone family, not a soul would speak against him or look upon you with disdain for their actions. If he had it his way, not a soul would look upon you at all– a thought he constantly had to shove to the back of his mind, locking it up with reason and logic. It wasn’t healthy to keep you caged, but you were so lovely he didn’t want anyone else to share in your smiles, your sighs, your moans…
For a moment, Nicola glanced towards their driver from the corner of his eyes. Lorenzo(?) was minding his business and watching the road. Good choice. He’d hate to think how you would blush and feel embarrassed the next time you saw him. He considered relocating him once again, that way there wasn’t a chance that he’d take an interest in you and attempt to talk to you next time.
The way his jealousy simmered right under the roiling heat of his love mixed the two emotions to the point he couldn’t separate them, and he accepted that this was just the way his love was. Especially when it came to you.
You had become putty under his caresses, malleable and easily to manipulate. Nicola pulled away and sat back on the seat, guiding you to straddle his lap, making sure to hike your dress’ skirt up so you were able to sit on him unimpeded. You moved willingly, letting him gently pull and touch to set you the way he wanted you. You always became so compliant so quickly.
Your eyes were glassy, hazy with the lust and desire you were feeling burning through you. The night no longer felt cold, and the heavy coat you had previously thought to be inadequate was now sweltering. Sitting on Nicola’s lap, all you could see was him. The way his blue eyes burned bright with need was like looking into a humid summer’s day, the waves of heat coursed through you from the way he always stared so intently at you in these moments.
For a moment, they simply looked at each other. Lights that were passing by casting shadows across the two lovers in the backseat, unbeknownst to them as they were lost in the silent world the two of them had made for themselves. One where Nicola controlled the environment around you, and you pretended to be unaware of it.
You knew he limited the people that interacted with you. You knew he wanted to do more than simply approve of those that you could befriend or speak to. You knew there was a darkness that constantly lurked inside him. One that caused him to be needy and vulnerable and afraid that you would one day reject his love, and you knew that the only way to keep that fear at bay was to allow him the control over you that he felt compelled to assert. Your love was not as endless and deep and murky as Nicola’s, but you welcomed the shadows that reached out from the depths of his passion and was happy to drown in him.
The car tilted and swayed gently, causing you to rock in his lap, the movement expected from traveling, but there was a subtle tilt of your hips against his that only they were privy to. There was a certain way that you leaned towards him, a way that your back arched and your shoulders dropped that was practically unseen, but the way the air shifted between the two of them he could feel it. You dipped your chin, giving him a signal that told Nicola that you accepted every part of thrilling darkness that he tried to keep under lock and key.
He couldn’t hold himself back any longer. This was no longer about proving to you that his love was boundless, or assuring himself that he was more than you could handle. Now it was about satisfying the both of them, of feeling wholly loved and adored the way you loved and adored him, and the way he would prove time and time again that he loved and adored you even more than that.
He clutched your arm and tugged you towards him, and you fell into a kiss that stole your breath away. He ravaged your mouth with his tongue, lapping up the gasps and muffling the moans that you couldn’t keep contained to your throat. Your hips undulated in his lap, roughly grinding against his erection, his long jacket was luckily split in the area, flared from the last button that was sitting above his waist, and he had moved your knees to further shove it out of the way. It was only his slacks between the two of them.
Nicola slid his hand up your thigh, running from stockings to bare skin where your garter left your thighs free. He grasped at you, squeezing the supple flesh, then moved to your hip, dragging you against him before finally ending on your ass, kneading between firm squeezes - a motion you had learned he did when he particularly liked something you had done.
He could take you right there - in the backseat of the car that they were being chauffeured in - but a scathing thought lanced through his lusty desires that Lorenzo(?) would be witness to the things Nicola had claimed for himself - your flush, your voice, and the messily beautiful way you looked in the throes of passion. That was not for anyone but him and he would be certain to keep it from all others.
The jealousy that flared to life at the possibility of those hefty infractions on his love, on his woman, on his claim, brought a semblance of reason back to him and he pulled back from you. Nicola gripped your hip, stilling you in your rutting against his bulge. It was then that the both of them realized that the car was no longer moving, though still running, and they were parked in front of the mansion they shared with other members of the family.
You dazedly looked out the fogged window, recognition slowly registering on your features, and Nicola took the opportunity to lean to the side and cast a glance at Lorenzo(?) in the front seat. The man was stiffly staring straight ahead, looking out the windshield and ignoring what had been taking place behind him. Smart boy, Nicola thought.
His eyes drew back to you. “Cara mia, you’re an adorable mess, and I loathe to lead you through the house like this, but I desperately want to make you into more of a mess.”
A smile played on your lips as Nicola began righting your clothes, and lovingly smoothed back your hair. He curved a finger around your ear, down your jawline and under your chin to bring your gaze to him. Leaning forward to share a whisper between the two of them, he was so close that his lips grazed yours as he huskily murmured into your slightly parted lips, “I want to ruin you with my adoration, my love.”
You shivered despite how the flame of desire heated your sex. You gave Nicola a small kiss that lingered for several seconds before you pulled back, something that had become your silent approval for when he voiced such awfully erotic promises. With that, Nicola adjusted your coat, wrapping it tighter around you to stave off the chill that would soon attempt to assault his love. He then helped you off his lap before opening the door to lead you through the freezing night, but you didn’t feel the sting of winter, only the burning anticipation that coursed through you, your head swimming with images of the lustful night to come.

MCU Asgard Canon Observation Research [Part 1]

Firstly and before I even start in on the subject, keep in mind that this is what it says: a collection of research into actual Canon Lore from the Marvel Cinematic Universe: not the comics, or the Nordic lore twice removed from it.
Secondly and alongside that, also keep in mind that even back at the start of the MCU as a long term project, while the MCU is based on the Marvel comics universe: the creators made a point of making it a completely different universe: for many varying reasons, including the spaces lacking continuity in the comics over the years that the MCU as a project wanted to pursue from it's first conception.
This is a large part of why there are phases and why they were numbered from it's creation. (And yes also why my tags recently mentioning counting phases are what they are elsewhere, but that's a whole other post.. or set of them.)
These are important to remember because, I would like to avoid previous iterations of people wasting their time trying to insert comics-universe lore and more excessively into or onto this requested post purely for the sake of, well; being argumentative or just trolling:as much as possible. I do try to take some time to respond to comments and reblogs as much as possible, but I can and will ignore or yes, at times point out people unable to manage these things.. and respond as necessary.
I normally wouldn't bother to mention this except yes, that has happened before so: consider this your disclaimer.. I ain't dealin' with you if you're gonna be a trolly shit disrespectful enough of the time effort and willingness to share what research and observations I have, by shitting on it or me in your pursuit of whatever flimsy excuses might be given for any inhuman reactions posted passive aggressive or worse.
More frankly: be respectful on my posts or get lost. I don't tolerate harassment on my blog whether it's aimed at me or others. Passive aggressive or otherwise. I'll discuss stuff, am happy to have any valid references I might miss added to and pointed out. Just don't be an asshat about it, and you'll get the same from me. That's how basic-bitch Karma, and I; both work: you'll get what you give along those lines, while in my space.
The necessary now out of the way... Next!
More as a side note with that mentioned; while I may mention some meta/theory in the form of the most probable (as that's how my meta in particular is formed) it is again: based on the facts of the canon lore and contexts confirmed presented in it; visually, in dialogue, and out of the mouths of the very people who made all that themselves, at the time that lore was given to us on screen: and will be mentioned as the theory and supposition that is 'meta' rather than 'canon'. I have gone out of my way as a fan of world, universe, and character building as a part of the creative process in particular: to watch, rewatch, rewatch again and again, and hunt down all this stuff (often lol purely out of my own curiosity.) All in all Meta is theory, Canon is story/film-established fact; and I do try to keep a clear line between the two of them. The early world and character building in the MCU has always been interesting enough to me alone, to do all that with my free time.
And that's especially true with Asgard in particular, as a main story driving force in one form or another as far back as 2010 when both Thor and CA: tFA's scripts were being filmed and their sets/settings picked out and created.
Final few bits before we get into it..? As Asgard lore (and even a lack of it's presence at times) is directly and appropriately attached and or in relation to the lore of several races, species, and massive events in the entirety of the MCU's first three phases.. I will be touching some of those cultures and places too, where important. Probably not in this particular part, but yeah. It's gonna happen.
As with the research post into Loki and his year of absence prior to Avengers 2012: (yes that's a link to an ask that contains a good chunk of info and years of interviews on that particular subject) this might not be an entirely complete compilation: for the same reasons. As I said, i didn't just watch, I rewatched repeatedly from differing personal mental angles: not just three or four times, but and as I wrote my own fanfiction.. I would also re-watch once or twice just prior to fleshing out an outlined story of my own to refresh my memory, seek out interviews official and otherwise from the creators and actors who made that lore and put it on screen for us to enjoy as part of the stories we enjoyed (or not, depending lol) and well.. the resulting organization of the whole outside of this post is less than comprehensive for anyone else. You can see the explanation for how that happens in the foreword of that thread if you're curious.
As a result, I may or may not exclude the actual interviews if this gets too long. Much of the visual in this first part especially are pretty self explanatory, as I did find some of my dissection pics too.
All said (I think? Gods I hope so that was a lot wasn't it? XD) and as suggested/requested recently in discord?

Here we go again!
The major forgotten fact of Asgard's depiction in the MCU is this:
We the audience are only shown a very tiny fragment of Asgard as another separate planet in space, and: they do show us we're missing as much, from the very first film.
That gif directly from the movie I used at the top? I'm using it again, because...

..look at that.
With topography, perspective and size in mind.
That tiny golden triangle in the middle is the Palace at the center. The little golden bar along that tiny portion to either side? Is the city attached to it proper, with the Bifrost, and as far as we've seen the 'Heroes Road' (as soem are calling it) and city walls cupping the Bifrost Bay directly facing the camera.
This is a space shot (of course,) and that tiny itty bitty moving spec that is still shrinking as it gets further from our perspective and closer to Asgard at the bottom, is the Bifrost in use.
And, they do give us a few views of that as early as five to six minutes into the first movie in 2011, as seen in the first clip below. I've set it to share at the first view of Asgard itself.

I recommend shutting off the audio, as it's a bit distracting. Trust me, we will get back to the very interesting audio from a world builder's perspective, when we get to the History and Relations section of Asgard's break down.. there are several tons, of that and in that opener alone, to examine later.

IMPORTANT!! When looking at any of these images or videos, keep in mind and look at the scale. Not just in the scene on screen at that moment, but also in reference to previous shots. Distance is a thing. The size of trees and people are a thing. This place in the MCU is much more massive than where it's very cloistered story parts take place.
This is not a city-planet like and for comparison: Coruscant, from Star Wars... though I am very aware that some people will throw out Asgard's concept art to try and 'debunk' that (yes its' been done and proven pointless in other threads).. that does also bring us to another couple of facts that slip by in their context.
In fact, you know what? I'll throw it in here right now myself:

This concept art: does still apply, if slightly adjusted with the topography and likely under ground portions taken into account.. because Asgard is the name of both the planet AND the city as separate entities of the same locale.
In other words, the concept art is VERY valid as a map of the city itself: but not the outlying locations outside of Asgard as a Capital City Proper, of Asgard as a disk planet.
And again.. they do show us this, and not just in the first film: although that first shot going into the city says as much too, being that..
A. Asgard is established as a society greatly more advanced than Earth and most others, and;
B. there are whole swaths of land (and especially mountain they like to build into) without structure between the edge panned through and the City itself. (see still image below: not the best quality but it's also in the video.)

Which.. we'll touch again a little more in a bit (and probably the biggest lol) part of this breakdown set; digging at History, Culture, and Relations.. as the fact they do prefer to build INTO their environment much more than on top of it is also shown in the shot of the canyons and canals on which not only that city is built, but even what buildings are shown outside of it on that panning-in shot.
We can see in the one above though: that while they did redirect some of the water through canals in the lower shot; they also kept and built into the natural(?*) lay of the river canyons below.
This theme is kept even before we get into the city though with the first part of the shot above the water.

Here you go, here's one example from out of my crazy folders and docs, that I made in paint back in 2013 (LOL yes I know. XD) while once again re-watching that same scene.
I would highly suggest clicking on it, as tumblr does downsize images making text on them hard to read otherwise. Crappy in-motion quality screen cap but, it was made more for breaking down the visual elements on screen for what it told us about the land, and more; on it.

----[?*] As a set of side/foot notes to that last bit and the image..
A. the top left corner yes: does reference some of where I use certain observations of canon in my own fics; and how they would have grown or evolved depending on that story. In this case, and at the time: the pink text is making note to utilize those observations in outlining Hvedrungr (Loki from Uni 0) and Flykra's (Loki from Vesti1 Uni 14) universes in particular: both of which return to Asgard at VERY different times and in different situations: while the history and culture I've been able to glean and expand on in some cases is still part of their and the location's background. As I don't have the patience to remove the text from an old paint shop cut.. I thought I would at least explain it's presence left there. These things are, ultimately connected by the culture that originated on and created them on that planet after all.. and why there's an entire section dedicated to the varied aspects of Asgard's presented Cultural, Relations, and History lore. B. The '?' at the 'natural' mention in parenthesis above, also takes into account that Asgard is much older than Earth's culture and has to be: if only because as only three generations have come and gone over the passage of what to us is five thousand years! (see the next installment Thor the Dark World: Bor and Darkalfheim, or just watch the movie with info gathering in mind.) In other words, between Bor's War, and Odin's Asgardian Great Wars: we cannot be certain whether or not 1. those canyons are actually natural or the now aged result of one of many previous interplanetary wars, or 2. whether Asgard at this stage of it's showing timed at 2011 more than a millennia later, has even always been this size, given their advancement in technology and study of magic as presented OR left in question, either. For my part, as there's no conclusive dialogue from that era to state otherwise in the MCU or it's interviews that I know of, and knowing the context of Malekith and Darkalfheim's familiarity with Asgard itself during their raid to reclaim the infinity stone: I tend to veer towards a mixture of the two. While it's very likely at least some of the canyons are indeed natural; the great age of the culture and planet both, along with the nature of Bor and Odin's rules alone as we've seen them: leaves a HUGE and LONG period of time and opportunities for some of those nasty fights to come directly to them... or even their predecessors. Which would also explain why they had that shield for the palace too. You don't build and more importantly upkeep something like that without a very good set of reasons or examples experienced, to do so after all. Much of that is meta though, however based on canon fact it may be: and as many of the creators were not asked publicly during that era, and have been dismissed or moved on to other projects since.. it's hard to know if we'll ever see a *genuine* answer from the people who actually made it all starting sixteen years ago.
Anyway, let's look at a few more shots of Asgard with that breakdown going. Some of these are all old, from as far back as about ten years ago when I first started writing outlines for the varied universes in my Lokiverse Project: but they do still hold up. theer are some from TDW in this bunch too. I heavily dissected these scenes knowing I was going to do whole chapters in multiple differing universes, and wanted to have the presented layout and feel laid out in my head, before I started adding in locations on the planet not yet shown on film. And given my first Book was already going to be DREAMS.. where Asgard has been blown to bits post Endgame? I really wanted to get it right so I could deconstruct it as many times as I and the muses wanted to. Laufeyson (Universe 10 Loki) was pretty insistent too with the opening chapters on his end focusing partially on that chase with Abell through Asgard's blown apart ruin

..uhmmmm. Yeah lol! When I said I watch and re-watch from differing mental perspectives..? That's what I mean. I don't usually share those at all... only the unedited pics. Genrally I will take caps or take existing raw caps and pick out piece that catch my eye. I've been told they do help put your brain in the right mode for those who have difficulty processing them in that way, like I do when in that mode. Also yes, trees and fish ...bruh. lol!
It's there, has been for years in some cases; and I'm not messing with it now.
That basic bit out of the way (doesn't sound so basic does it.) Let's backtrack a bit, specifically to Asgard's shape and the placement of it's location and the locations on it.
As I first write this, I don't have the talks I had with a few wild meteorologists and geologists back then directly on hand (as this is a part I still don't focus on too much; but:) shaped as it is, those I did talk to theorized that between the shape and placement of planets as well as the nebula they're partially inside, that Asgard may be shaped and in rotation as it is because of its' placement in it's system: or because of late interference by Asgard's inhabitants to keep it stable.

^ That one scene in particular from Thor 2011 really made my eyes pop. Not because of what's going on in it so much as trying to answer the whys and hows and what the actual fricks man: because..
Can you imagine, the conversation: trying to pitch that spinning death ball to the King there OR anywhere else on the planet before Bor or even his great grandfather?
Or, trying to talk the royalty down from the idea of putting it anywhere NEAR the palace, or other people's homes?
How about testing that house sized death-by-velocity-alone gilded mess? (Yes I still laugh thinking about that. Some poor scholar/engineer type trying to dissuade Bor's grand-daddy from building what would definitely become a giant pinball of death in the canyons and canals, if that thing ever came off it's anchors even once in the city. Good gods! lol!) Who knows; maybe that was when people started moving to Vanaheim... XD! Just (mostly) kidding.

Cray-cray thoughts of high velocity gilded pinball hell that was probably somewhere way back in the Bifrost's likely development and evolution as tech/normie science boosted by magic, and or vice versa, aside:
You probably notice I've mentioned the nebulae and the planets in their rotation more than once. And with good reason.
Backing up a bit; Asgard is interesting well before you hit her shores.
Not only is she a top-shaped disk-planet: but with the way the sky is shown: Asgard has a very interesting rotation if she has any left at all. There's very little we know, but what we do know is she is not alone in her systematic rotation either way.

In fact and as seen in the screen caps above: Asgard has an incredibly close relation to at least three planets in her nebulous solar system. At least one of which is absolutely massive: massive enough that it's close proximity is theorized as being pretty likely to be the only way Asgard experiences night cycles as seen in Thor: the Dark World... mainly through eclipsing the nebulous sun by passing between it and Asgard as a planet.
Which is both cool -and- scary when you take things like degrading orbits, space debris and projectiles like comets and other space science into account.. but also very, very interesting.
It also begs the question either way: why didn't Asgard at their earlier establishment of a greater technological level, colonize or move to those planets sooner? Of course.. the first obvious answer is.. they probably couldn't, at first. And even more probably were past trying by the time the Bifrost was built, prior to Bor's time (I say prior because we have seen Bor use it in Thor the Dark World: and on a massive scale moving whole armies, the same as his son Odin. See some of the scenes from Bor's seizure of the Aether below.)

But yeah, Asgard is a pretty unique place even before you get to the water fall's edge: or questioning what kind of condensed mass it has to retain gravity at it's very small size.
Or, whether that gravity and the shape is in fact generated in some form or another after millennia upon millennia of just the Wars we do know about in their history.
(At current we know about Darkalfheim and the series of Wars including Jotunheim and Muspelheim that they call the Great Wars. While they are definitely aware of the extensive millennia of intergalactic war between the Xandarian based Nova Corps and the Kree Empire put front and center in GotG.. there hasn't been any actual confirmation as to whether Asgardians fought in that war on either side: only that they are at that stage at least loosely allied with Asgard.. if not a more separated protectorate being considered among the nine realms in the MCU.)
Why do I keep pointing out trees, and perspective; or teh size of the city in that first little gif again?
Because.. that is our repeated visual evidence of just how much of Asgard as a planet; the story did not take place in.. huge parts of the place we haven't seen. And that makes sense.
Power plants or generators, smithys, and even schools can be easily placed in the city proper, at this stage.
But what about BEFORE, they got to this stage.. because that is a thing in the MCU in regards to Asgard: and a major plot point for three movies of script running, from 2010 all the way to 2015 when Taika Waititi was hired (unfortunately, for those of us who know the root of what happened there.)
What about food, for thousands of 5000 year lifespans and their kids. And their grandkids. And.. the food for the livestock, or the wild game
Or the bilgesnipes and dragons--well we can guess what happened to the dragons of Asgard in particular actually. If they were anything like Muspelheim's; and on a planet that size..? It doesn't take much to figure out Odin, Bor and their predecessors probably couldn't excuse not hunting a predator big enough to swallow people to extinction: not for much longer than they absolutely had to anyway.
What about fibers and leather for clothes.
How about waste management, for both the city and suburban areas? Sewers? Water filtration? Factories or slaughterhouses to process it all, and the means to support those things. Everything man made, is grown, processed or made somewhere.
We know they have these things, because we know they have and make their own alcohol (fermentation of grains, fruits, and more); as well as other things to eat: displayed in both T1 and TDW.

Meat, vegetables, fruit, grain, herbs, and seasonings are all represented on the tables above. While some might be imported (I really do wonder about the platters of golden apples myself:) it's not very likely all of them are. And it wouldn't make sense for them to have been imported from off world throughout their species development either. After all and again: they would have had to have survived and developed enough to GET TO, that stage in the first place.
You're also looking at Varnish in the shine of that table; smithing and metal working and ceramics in their table ware. Weaving either plant or animal fibers in their clothes, as well as the likely production of tannin (or it's equivalent) and leather working in every leather piece on screen. Candles can be made from varied sources, whether that's actual wax of some form, or condensed animal fat.
Oh, and if you find the enlarged version of those images: you'll also notice things like fine engraving and metal sculpture to the goblets and platters on the Thor 2011 table in particular.
Either way, the images above show us directly that unsurprisingly, they have come to understand whole other sub-levels of production: before you even get to the high-tech and magic ends of any of that to be able to reproduce it in that modern era.
As another side note related to that: the booze alone is pretty telling as to how far off the "Loki" series is on this mark, as well. Creators of current content 'conveniently forgot' that this is supposed to be a space faring, technologically advanced society (even if they're the social equivalent of medieval imperialist thugs .. lol sorry not sorry! That's literally how they're depicted... and honestly that really weird twist IS some of Asgard's most interesting and strange development) whose friends, allies and other examples of places visited DO and HAVE included Earth, Xandar, and six other 'realms' as their etymology names them: for literal millennia. Even taking the other, long established cultural influences and visitations aside? For a society who 5000 years ago was still porting whole armies to other planets to kick peoples asses? The idea they never discovered honey; or sugar especially even on the inside of a fermentation barrel for wine; OR how to process it into something like candy? Is more than just a -little- dumb in the stretch. Sugar often naturally starts to separate and crystallize during the fermentation process. Ask a vintner, or look it up if you don't believe me. Just sayin'.. just on Earth alone, we know sweets were discovered more than 8000 years ago. Eight thousand. And the only reason we haven't been able to confirm people older than that finding things like bee's hives?? Is because well.. that kind of thing rarely survives even that length of time at all, to be found in archeology in order to tell us more. I'll touch that and how it's pretty damned near impossible that 'Loki doesn't know wtf candy is' being 1k+ years himself, and a guy raised as an Asgardian prince & spymaster to boot later into the culture section I think, but mmm.. that whole bit still reeks of stupid, to me And more so after their own DB Cooper scene. Gonna say candy wasn't a snack in that era either? Cause if so; I got big shocking news, for those who think so... XD
In closing.. for this part?
As far as the world of Asgard goes, we have only been allowed to see a very small part of it: and even then? It is still undoubtedly massively larger than even what's implied: and definitely capable of supporting it's comparatively small base population of less than 10k people.

The only reason we don't see even more of it; is the fact that films have a limited time to give you everything, and the story focuses on the royal family from the get go. And they live, in the heart of Asgard's capital city... so we largely don't see as much of that as weirdo world building fans like me would absolutely love to see in the process... and frankly; they gave plenty enough to start us off with.
The films would have suffered for having too much more of that, rather than the stories they were trying to tell.

Buzz Romantic Headcanons (Lightyear version)
So, my idea was to write a couple of headcanons just like the ones I made for TGMD but I don't know at what point this got out of control. It's... So long 🥲 I don't even know how I was able to write this much, but if you are like me and haven't found anything related to Lightyear I hope you like it!
Important note: This is a mix of general Safe For Work headcanons and reader insert based on the 2022 movie Lightyear. Reader Insert is gender neutral. Under Read More because, like I said, this one is long oh god.

✦ I headcanon him to be in his late 20s (28/29).
✦ I don't think he has experience at all. He was so focused on being the best, working as hard as he possibly could, and interacting just the necessary with others (with the exception of Alisha) that having a relationship was never in his mind. Is mission first, enjoyment later.
✦ He considers himself okay-looking, but to be honest it is not something he thinks about. One of the few times that he thinks about his appearance is when he puts on his space ranger suit, he thinks he makes him look strong and brave.
✦ Okay, but does he have a physical preference? Not really. I truly believe he's a guy that doesn't really care for physical beauty. He can acknowledge someone is beautiful but you won't catch his attention just by being attractive.
How would he react if he discovered you like him?
✦ Just like anyone, knowing someone is interested in you makes you curious. If you two are in the same room, he would look at you without you noticing it. If you end up catching eyes oh God he would quickly look the other way and start doing something else, he makes it so obvious that he's embarrassed.
But there are two scenarios for this:
✦ 1) You two are strangers or just know each other very little (coworkers): His first instinct is to push that situation away, avoid you to all costs, but spend some time thinking about it cause is both kind of exciting and awkward. He would drown himself in anything job-related that would help to occupy his mind.
✦ In the past, there were some awkward interactions when he was a cadet where people showed interest in him, but again, he outright wouldn't pursue any relationship because, in his mind, it was inappropriate and his duty was first.
✦ 2) You two know each other or are friends: Oh, this one is trickier. The surprise would be even greater. For strangers, he kind of understands maybe why they like him, is canon that he does have some ego so he assumes that that person admires him, they are probably confusing their feelings since they don't really know him.
✦ But if you two are friends and he discovers your feelings for him oohh boy. It wouldn't compute in his head. His first question would be "Wait, what?!" Is not that he's insecure, is just that that part of his life is so pushed away that when romance is brought to the table he's confused and nervous.
✦ He would look at you (from far away) with more intention because he's trying to decipher what the hell is going on in your head. Is it true? Do you give any indication of having romantic feelings? When did this happen? Is sitting next to him an indication of anything? When you both talk, are you flirting and he just doesn't know?
✦ He also questions himself about his feelings for you. I can picture him looking at the ceiling trying to sleep but he can't because there's so much going on in his head. Of course, his instinct is to ignore the situation in hopes it just disappears, trying to convince himself that is not appropriate to date anyone from his team... But he can't deny it's on his mind.
✦ Sadly, he would be the kind of guy that would change his behavior around you. Not looking at your face, trying to avoid you at all costs, denying he's acting weird...
✦ It sucks. But he's just trying to figure out what the hell is he supposed to do. Being a space ranger has been his entire life, he knows where he stands, what are his duties, and expects the unexpected. But feelings? That's out of his range of knowledge and has to ask the really hard questions; Does he want a relationship?
✦ Basically, you would send him into a crisis lol
✦ Sox would notice right away. He would embarrass him by stating in front of the team (and you, of course) that his heart is beating fast and his stress levels are higher than usual.
✦ Would he ask his friends for help? God no. Never. In a million years. This is his problem and he has to find the solution himself, right? But others would also notice his odd behavior.
✦ Their collective reaction is "Oh we already knew they liked you, we thought you knew too".
✦ In that case, Buzz would try to compose himself and explain that he doesn't agree with the situation since the Space Ranger code prohibits any relationships with your peers, but they would stop him in his tracks and remind him that the code changed years ago.
✦ Izzy also has no experience, but she takes inspiration from very old magazines and books she was given by her grandmothers when they lived on Earth. Needless to say, her advice is not that useful.
✦ Mo would tell Buzz about that time a guy hit on him and he was so nervous that he spilled his drink on him and never saw him again, so his advice is don't spill your drink on them.
✦ Thank god for Darcy because she is the only voice of reason. She is the one who asked the hard-hitting questions, taking no bs from Buzz when he tried to find excuses to just ignore the situation. Derby advised him that if he's not interested, then he should let you know. After all, he's hurting you more by avoiding you.
✦ But that's the issue... He doesn't know how to navigate these feelings.

☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username? It was my nickname for my cat, since she was a "house panther" or bagheera + ita. Kipling's racism aside, I adore The Jungle Book and if I don't feel like explaining to you why Kaa is the fucking boss and disney sucks, I usually say Bagheera is my favorite character. Also when I first got into AO3/tumblr I was really into Avengers and Black Panther is my favorite/the literal fucking best avenger, so it was fandom adjacent at the time.

“Naturally,” the vampire replied easily, he would of course document the entire process, and while he would make efforts to ensure he would not actually die the likelihood of him actually dying was very slim and that wasn’t even considering the many measures he had in place should he die. He had worked for centuries to achieve one singular goal and had decided long ago that something as diverting as death would not stop him. 
He too knelt on the ground, soft dirt giving way beneath his knees, pristine suit but he didn’t care if it was dirtied. “I will proceed with the appropriate pace and not any faster or slower than is necessary,” was his response before he began to unbutton his suit jacket and removed it entirely, draping the garment on the floor beside him, then proceeded to roll up the sleeves of his crisp white shirt until they reached his elbows so as not to inhibit his movements from the restriction of the garments. He would then get to work, first feeling the back of the jaw of the tatzelwurm, feeling the venom sac, it was squishy and spongy full of venom. “I will inject now,” he said as a warning before he inserted the point of the syringe into the sac, a few inches deep, enough to feel it go through the protective layers of muscle and fat that encased it, as soon as it penetrated through the layers of flesh and reached the liquid venom within, the substance flowed through the syringe and began to fill the glass vial set within the syringe. It filled quickly and needed to be replaced, not removing the syringe and quickly and deftly swapping out the filled vial with an empty one without a stoppage.
she walked back inside to, dark eyes looking to where the ground shifted as the creature hidden underneath looked out at both of them with its sickly yellow eyes. eilonwy dropped some of her glamour then, limbs fading to the colour of ash the more they got to her extremities, eyes so wholly black no light was reflected in them. “you’d document the whole thing, like karl schmidt,” the fae commented with a little smirk on her face at the idea. she doubted such a thing would kill valentin, though wondered to what it’s venom did do.

eilonwy knelt by the creature then, a noise coming from her mouth that meant nothing to anyone that wasn’t the tatzelwurm. it seemed to react well, coming further from the ground and eyeing valentin. the same noise came from eilonwy way again, something like a hiss, being as encouraging and calming as she could. it slowly began to open its jaws just as asked, staying still, tail under the ground pushing the dirt up occasionally.

The looming presence of an unspoken topic hovered around the Red Keep at all hours of the day. In the morn when the sun had barely peeked over the horizon of the Narrow Sea, it remained. When she would sit at the table, full of lavish fruits and cheeses to dine with her beloved, it remained. As the court adjourned and people began to return to their mundane lives bustling about the many corridors and halls, it remained.
It wouldn’t leave. It was the ugly topic of uncomfortable family drama that everyone knew about, but nobody was willing to speak to. Tyrion was incarcerated.
While not her son by blood, he was made her stepson after she had been wed to his father, Tywin Lannister. The old lion of Casterly Rock had accepted a marriage request after her father had been more than generous with his grain reserves in the last winter. Shortly after the wedding and subsequent consummation, it was relayed to the aged man that his wife was unable to bear children. But by that point, she had won his heart and he decided to forego the idea of another heir in favor of keeping his young wife.
When he had won the Battle of Blackwater Bay, and then the War of Five Kings, she rejoiced. Her heart swelled at the parchment that had been sent informing her that she would be escorted to Kings Landing to live with her lord husband, the new Hand of the King. She felt everything in her world falling into place as she entered the Red Keep’s gates to be greeted by the magnificent audience of her love. But perfection never lasted.
His discontent for his son grew with each passing day as Tyrion inserted himself into political matters. He voiced these thoughts freely to her as the two of them would lie in the darkness of night. It had been many moons since the last time she attempted to squelch the fighting between father and son, but even with her soft words of reason, the man was insistent on his feelings. ‘He only lives because he is a Lannister.’ Tywin would continually repeat as he brushed a warm calloused hand down her shoulder to the small of her back. He hated the man, and in his heart of hearts he knew that the man likely hated him too.
“I already told you I do not think the trial is an appropriate use of your time.” The knife Tywin held in his hand scratched against the glass plate he ate from. A buffet for two of aged cheeses, fresh fruits, and crackling bread sat in front of the two of them.
“He is my step-son as much as he is your son.” She retaliated in a calmed tone, graciously accepting the portion of bread he had cut for her. “I feel as though my presence is necessary.”
Tywin had a hard time arguing with his wife. The two had rarely quarreled, but this was the one thing they refused to see eye to eye on. In public, it was pertinent that they present the perfect and ideal lifestyle. It was a display of the Lannister’s power; a display of how nothing could go wrong in their lives when they lived united.
“Tyrion will only assume your stance on the matter as siding with me.” He broke a piece of hard cheese from its block and held it out to her, pleased when she continued to eat as they usually did. “He will grow to resent you more than he already does.”
She crinkled her nose at the strong wine that was served, disliking the way it scorched her throat as the alcoholic beverage slid down her tongue. “Tyrion doesn’t resent me.”
Tywin responded with the curious raise of his brow, his elbow shifted to his forearm as he rested against the black-painted arm of the chair and looked to his wife. “Does he not?” He shook his head after a short sigh of exhaustion escaped his lips. “I’ve heard differently.”
“He dislikes you for taking a wife younger than he and for not casting me aside when you found out I could not give you any children. He knows it not my doing or my fault.”
He thought for a moment, narrowing his eyes as he swiped his tongue across the back of his teeth. She was right, but that did not make the sentiment any different. For, if Tyrion truly did not resent his stepmother, he would hold his tongue more often when speaking about her. “I could cast you aside and take another if that is what you wish.”
“Your jests are most unappreciated, lord husband.” She replied without a moment of contemplation, her quick wit being one of the things he favored in his wife.
The two were interrupted by the sudden appearance of footsteps echoing off the walls, someone heading in their direction. Drawn from their conversation, they watched as the unmistakable golden garb of the kingsguard attire strut from round the corner, followed swiftly by a cape of white that flowed freely in the wind his walk created. “Father.” Jaime called, stopping abruptly at the sight of his wife. “Stepmother.” He bowed, addressing the younger woman.
“Jaime.” She replied, always happy to have the company of her extended family.
“I hope that I’m not interrupting.” He started, coming to a halt at the edge of the circular table that the couple sat at. Tywin looked to his wife for confirmation that their discussion was over, finding it in her eyes as he gave a curt nod and directed his attention back to his son. “I wanted to discuss the trial.”
She could see the slight annoyance that danced across her husband’s face in that moment. He hid it well, continuing to hold the gaze of his equally confident son. His body remained pointed in her direction, though, unwilling to fully face him. “Go on.” He beckoned as Jaime’s eyes flickered to the woman at his side. “Anything said to me can be said in the presence of my wife.”
Jaime drew his bottom lip between his teeth, deciding this was his one chance to get his thoughts out on the table. “You’ve condemned your son to death.” He accused, forcing his father to give a slight roll of his eyes.
“I’ve condemned no one, the trial is not over.” Tywin argued, chest now in line with Jaime’s who stood tall as he disagreed with his father. She watched the two, choosing to remain silent as she spread a soft cheese fragranced with honey and thyme onto a piece of bread.
“It’s not a trail, it’s a farce. Cersei has manipulated everything, and you know it.” His tone grew in frustration, bothered by the way his father continued his meal as if nothing were wrong.
“I know nothing of the sort” Tywin dismissed.
“You’ve always hated Tyrion.”
“He killed his king.”
“As did I.” Jaime’s voice was strong, even in the storm that his father cast upon him. He stood tall and proud, unbending to the watchful glare of the man who sat before him. “Do you know the last order the Mad King gave me? To bring him your head. I saved your life so you could murder my brother.”
Tywin brushed another piece of torn bread through the crumbs of food that had landed upon his plate. His disdain for his other son was beginning to show in the way his jaw tensed, and his eyes remained downcast, out of Jaime’s radar. “It wont be murder, it’ll be justice.”
“Justice?”
“I’m performing my sworn duty as Hand of the King. If Tyrion is found guilty, he’ll be punished accordingly.” He handed a picked fruit to his wife, attempting to draw his focus to the woman who always managed to calm the simmering rage that built up in the pit of his stomach. She was the constant in his life. Others were willing to give him anything he wanted, and yet, while she could not bring him another heir, she brought him peace.
“He’ll be executed.” The dark cloud that was Jaime reappeared in his once shining day, reminding him of his presence as he tore his eyes from his wife.
“No,” he disagreed, “he’ll be punished accordingly.”
“Once you said family is what lives on – all that lives on.” Jaime took a few calculated steps closer to the table, but not enough to touch it or even graze it with the fabric that covered his thighs. “You told me about a dynasty that would last a thousand years. What happens to your dynasty when Tyrion dies? (Y/n) cannot give you the children you want.” He earned himself a shotty glare from the side of Tywin’s eyes as he placed a comforting hand on her leg. “I’m a Kingsguard, forbidden by oath to carry on the family line.”
“I’m well aware of your oath, and you needn’t remind us.” Tywin’s thumb swiped itself back and forth across her thigh in a metrical rhythm, much like that of an orchestra’s conductor.
Jaime cocked his head backward, knowing where he intended on going with the conversation. While hurting his stepmother’s feelings was not something he wished to do, it was an unfortunate product of their dialogue. “What happens to your name? Who carries the lion banner into future battles? Your nephews? Lancel Lannister? Others whose names I don’t even remember?”
“What happens to my dynasty if I spare the life of my grandsons’ killer?”
Tywin could feel the rift growing between himself and his children. The strong wills that he had instilled in them were only causing more and more disagreements between the bunch as they aged. Each had their own opinions on his actions and were never fearful to voice them. The biggest dispute came when he chose to marry (Y/n). All of them were avidly against him being with a younger woman, younger than all of them.
“It survives, through me.” Tywin’s melodic thumb stopped rubbing her thigh, instead he withdrew and propped his elbows on the table. His interest was piqued, displayed in the way he leaned forward to ensure he didn’t miss a word that fell from Jaime’s lips. “I’ll leave the Kingsguard and take my place as your son and heir if you let Tyrion live.”
“Done.” Tywin agreed, not needing a second to consider what his son had just proposed. It would give him everything he wanted and everything he assumed he would not have. “When the testimony is concluded and the guilty verdict rendered, Tyrion will be given the chance to speak. He’ll plead for mercy. I’ll allow him to join the Night’s Watch. In three days’ time, he’ll depart for Castle Black and live out his days at the wall. You’ll remove your white cloak immediately. You will leave Kings Landing to pursue your rightful place at Casterly Rock. You’ll marry a suitable woman and father children named Lannister. And you’ll never turn your back on the family again.”
Jaime seemed speechless at how quickly his father bowed to his request, but still replied. “You have my word.”
‘And you have mine.”  
Jaime left immediately without any more dispute, leaving the couple to their meal.
She sat, watching the turmoil that battled on his face. The sun cast deep shadows across the curvature of his cheek, outlining the way he hollowed them from the hidden anguish he concealed. “I’m sorry.” She finally said in a meek tone, said so silently that he questioned if he heard her correctly.
“For what?”
“The family feels more divided than it ever has since I joined.” She recalled the day that the news of her chances of fertility was given to the two of them, the way his shoulders pushed downward, and his head tilted upward slightly. He was torn between two paths, and yet he chose the one that many advised against. Perhaps, Lord Lannister had a heart in his body after all.
The same look of surprise was painted across his features yet again as he eyed the woman sat at his side. He extended his hand in her direction, drawing a gentle touch to the edge of her jaw as he stroked a soft finger across the apple of her cheek. “For now, we must only worry for ourselves and what the coming days may bring, dear wife.”
Tyrion’s trial continued with one of combat, after he angrily demanded one. Everyone in the audience awaited, knowing who would be named for the other side. The Mountain was prepared for any man thrown in his direction, an unwavering and unmoving beast of a man. He instilled a deep-rooted fear in all those who were unfortunate enough to get on his bad side. While (Y/n) never enjoyed the unrestrained lustful gaze he gave, even in Tywin’s presence, she knew he would never dare to lay even a finger on her. He was fervently loyal to the Lannister name and continued to serve the family even as he committed progressively worse deeds.
“Jaime.” Lady Lannister called out to her stepson as he marched from the Tower of the Hand where he had surely just been speaking to his father regarding Tyrion.
He spotted her immediately, stilling in his step as she approached. He had never had an issue with the woman, he worried not of what his father chose to do the vast majority of the time. Though, he did find himself defending her when the other children aired their grievances to him about her. Cersei was vocal in her distaste for the woman, seeing no reason for a stepmother when she could not supply them any new siblings. Tyrion was annoyed with the woman as she was easily accepted by his father despite her malfunctions. “Lady (Y/n).”
“Why didn’t he take the deal?” Her voice waivered, the slight crackle of unease in her tone. “Tywin agreed, he could have lived.”
Jaime hated the way his family was falling apart. He had stuck out his neck for his younger brother, ready to renounce his place and leave what he had known since he was young. Yet, Tyrion let his anger get the best of him and threw it all away. “Pride, I suppose.”
“Are you going to speak to him?”
The nod of his head answered her question.
“Will you take him this?” She revealed a small clear bottle filled with crimson liquid. “I promise it’s just wine. I imagine he’s losing his mind without it.”
It was endearing, he thought. The way she tried desperately to dote on the children like any mother would despite her being younger. She had taken good care of those around her, often being criticized for her kindness. “I’ll see to it that he gets this.”
“Thank you.”
Her legs carried her past Jaime. Beginning up the staircase, he added, “and (Y/n), do try to talk some sense into my father.”
“I always do.” She disappeared behind the winding wall of stairs.

“Lord husband.” Tywin’s wife called as she entered their shared chamber. When she had first arrived in the Red Keep, an adjoining room had been prepared for her, but it fastly went unused as the two fell back into their routine of togetherness.
He sat behind his desk, a hand resting against his forehead as he looked over the growing stack of scrolls that piled as each day came and went. The workhorse he was did not allow the man a moments rest. It seemed he was always either working with no reprieve.
“You know there is no need for such titles when we are alone.” He leant back in his chair and let out a fitful sigh. “Come to lecture me on the fate of my dear son?”
She shook her head and crossed the room, the elegant hem of her rich velvet dress flounced behind her. “I did just see Jaime in the hall. Can I presume that is what he just did?”
“You can.” He replied, adjusting his jaw. “He tried… rather unsuccessfully. Go on, then.” Tywin allowed himself to slouch in his seat, his legs were kicked out comfortably in front of him. “Convince me.”
“There is no convincing what is up to the gods now… and as much as I would not like to see him dead, I fear that it is almost inevitable at this point.” She frowned. “Is there no room for him to revoke his request?”
“No.”
“None at all?”
“No.”
“Tywin, you must find it somewhere in your heart to spare him.”
“He is a fool for his outburst today, and he will be served his justice in due time.”
“He is one of your two sons; without him Jaime will remain a Kingsguard. You will have no heirs to Casterly Rock.”
“I’d have heirs if it weren’t for your malformation.” His voice rose the same way it did earlier when he grew angry with Jaime. “I should have cast you aside and taken another wife the moment the maester came through our doors.” The words shot through her body, leaving behind unmendable wounds. “I’m done speaking to this.”
The air in the room thickened as the fire’s fuel exploded, sending it into a full blaze. She felt her lungs crumble as a shiver ran up her spine. He had always acted like it was no problem to him, but there was no mistaking the words that escaped his lips. His eyes were hardened, remaining that way even as hers filled with salted tears. The small squeeze of her fingers in front of her body reminded her she was truly living through this moment. “Yes, my lord.” She drew her lip between her teeth in a veiled attempt at hiding the way it wobbled. “Goodnight, my lord.”
His gaze followed her as she fled from the room, heading off beyond the large wooden doors that kept them protected at night. He should have gone after her – apologized for his hurtful words, but instead he blew out the candles, extinguished the lanterns, and changed for bed.
He would deal with it in the morning.

Waking in the adjoining room felt odd. There was no burning fireplace in the corner of the room, no candles to illuminate the dark shadows, and no warmth from the opposite side of the large bed. It was cold, no sign of anyone else joining her late in the night. She had fallen into a fitful sleep, ruining the neat folding of the side of the bed she had slept on.
Everything she ate that day refused to stay down. Nothing could tame the aching storm that rumbled in her stomach. Her handmaiden was surprised to find her in the other room, but acted quickly as she called for the maester. An herbal tea of mint and woodworm was brewed for her stomach pains, another of coriander and lemon to dissuade her fever.
Another day of bed rest, and she was insistent that it was time to free her from the pillowy prison. Tywin had left her be as he cooled off from their argument and prepared for Tyrion’s trial. She was explicitly told to not attend, but having the Lannister’s steadfast approach to life, she decided to come anyway.
The crowds were in abundance for the battle, curious to see how Oberyn Martell would stand against Gregor Clegane. Rarely did a man make it out alive in a battle with him, in fact – she could not recall a time anyone ever came out victorious. Tywin’s frustration was obvious in the way he motioned tensely for another chair to be brought for his wife. He did not like her seeing such events.
Beneath the tented sheet of red, outlined with golden tassels and ornate embroidery, sat members of the small council along with the Lannister family. She was seated next to Jaime, much to the disdain of Cersei who was positioned in the middle next to Tywin. The battle between the two men was short in duration. Oberyn showed signs of winning, but let his gloating get the best of him as he restrained himself from giving Clegane a final blow. His arrogance was his downfall, his insistence on Clegane admitting to killing his sister overcame the real reason he was in the melee. With an easy swipe of his arm, Clegane had pinned the smaller man beneath him.
(Y/n) had not bore witness to such an event before, exemplified by the way her eyes widened as Clegane dug his fingers into Oberyn’s eyes. Her hand shot to the arm rest, gripping tightly as Jaime took notice. Quickly, he turned and held a shielding hand to her face, moving her line of vision to the side of his head as the guttural scream of Ellaria Sand echoed into Blackwater Bay. She was glad nothing stayed in her stomach, as she surely would have lost it in that moment.
“Don’t look.” Jaime instructed as Tywin stood and rendered a guilty verdict to Tyrion. “Look at me.” He continued, rising to stand as he kept his hand attacked to her cheekbone. “You don’t want to see that.”
Only when the two had made it to the staircase that led from the amphitheater did he allow his hand to drop. “Why did you come?” He wasn’t asking in an accusatory way, instead one that was filled with concern for his stepmother.
She took a calming breath, but was interrupted by Tywin who had started searching for them as soon as the crowd was dismissed. “I was just about to ask the same question.”
Tywin stood behind her, cloaked in a tunic of black leather with grey embellishments down the front, the golden hand of the king pin was attached to his collar. “If we are to be a family, how can we present ourselves as such if one member is absent?”
He cocked his head back for a moment, pleased with her response. “I suppose you make a point.” Dismissing Jaime, he took her arm in his and began to lead her back to the Tower of the Hand. “But that will be the last one you witness.”
“Why?”
“I heard you’ve had difficulty keeping your food in your stomach.” He patted a gloved hand to her arm. “I do not think that seeing a man’s insides aids in your struggles.”
Tyrion was set to be executed the following day, and Tywin – while unhappy about it – had insisted she attend, and then and only then would it be the final fit of violence she attended. ‘It is important that we stay together, now more than ever.’ He told his wife as they dined together.
“How will he die?” He placed a piece of bread in her hand and began cutting into the chunks of meat in the oxtail soup he had requested to be still her bubbling insides.
“Beheading.” Tywin dipped a spoon into the bowl, the brown liquid quickly filling it as he lifted it to his lips to cool the soup. “Here.”
The hearty broth was spiced with fresh parsley and sage, warmed by the peppery cinnamon and cloves that floated in the bowl. It was the first thing she had been able to keep down in days. The complex earthy flavor of saffron kissed the tender meat and vegetables that melted in her mouth.
“I’m sorry.” He cut the silence that fell over the lovers. “I didn’t mean what I said.”
It was a rare moment of vulnerability in the old lion. He lived without regrets, and words of apology were foreign to his assured lips. It took a lot for him to admit wrongdoing, and she knew that. With a gentle kiss to the corner of his mouth, the lovers quarrel was over. The two were whole again.
The night’s depth knew no boundaries as they danced among the sheets of their lush bed. Heated groans and whispered promises of tomorrow filled the air that was ten degrees cooler just beyond their bed. His hands roamed her body, suddenly finding the swell of her lower abdomen beneath the palm of his hand. He pulled away from her kiss, drawing confusion until he cupped his hand over the puff, a genuine smile tugging at his lips. He had won, he thought. In spite of losing an heir with Tyrion’s soon death, he was gaining one from a woman who was told she was infertile.
“You’re with child.” He lifted her to sit lazily over his lap as his back hit the darkened wooden headboard. “That explains your sickness.”
“That’s impossible.” She said, only believing once her hand grazed over her stomach.
“We will have to make preparations for the newest Lannister.”
He felt excitement course through his veins for the first time in forever. His beautiful young wife would bear another child for him, and they would continue on the family dynasty. Tywin had been at odds with the gods for many years, but for once he found himself thanking them. They had delivered him a gift: a wife who took him as he was, and a new chance at life.
The moon rose further into the obsidian night sky, hiding the twinkling stars as it moved in a predetermined waltz. She woke to the sound of the door creaking, light footsteps falling upon the floor. Blankets tossed as she rolled to her side, stretching an arm out to find her husband missing from his side of the bed.
“Tywin?” Her voice was scratchy and full of sleep.
The footsteps stopped, before quickly retreating with the slam of their door. Her body startled fully awake as she sat up and surveyed the empty room. Tywin was gone, and whoever had just entered their room was surely still lurking about in the hall. A thin silk nightgown was all that was easily available, as lacing up an entire day dress would take too long. She slipped it over her head and made for the door, the soft patter of her bare feet against the floor disappeared down the hall.
An uncomfortable grunt caught her attention as she turned a corner in the direction of his privy. Standing in the torch illuminated hall was Tyrion, a crossbow in his hand. He walked slowly back to a pile of clawed arrows that laid a few feet from where he once stood. Only then did his eye catch sight of the fearful woman who clutched desperately at the fabric of her clothing. She was indecent, he thought, but more so than when he had been in Tywin’s room minutes before.
“Tyrion?” Her voice was shaking, from the chilled night or from the crossbow and painted groaning he wasn’t sure.
“Quiet.” Tyrion racked another arrow into his bow, holding so that the tip of the arrow was aimed at her body. “Go back to bed.” His instructions came slowly.
“What are you doing?” She took a hesitant step forward, only for him to train his bow more precisely at her. “Tywin?”
The groaning continued from the privy, the sounds of her husband caused her to continue forward. Tyrion spun suddenly, aiming the bow back at his father who was attempting to get up. “(Y/n), run and alert the guards.” Tywin’s voice bounced from the curved wall.
“Tyrion, please. Let him go. You can still leave Kings Landing.”
“(Y/n), go.” Tyrion instructed.
“Tyrion, please! Let him live, he’s your father, you’re his son.” She was begging now, tears freely flowing down her cheeks. The wetness shone brightly in the torches light; her eyes were beginning to turn red with ache.
“(Y/n), go.” She could not see her husband, but she could hear the intense pain he was in. In that moment, she wanted nothing more than to run to him, to hold him and tell him that all would be right. “Please, go.” The word ‘please’ took Tyrion by surprise. His father was heartless in his eyes and would never bow to anyone – especially a woman.
“Go.” Tyrion repeated his father’s words.
Without a second of faltering, she decided to direct her target to the crossbow that Tyrion still had trained on Tywin. He would kill him if she left, and she could not imagine a world without him. She would be remarried and would struggle to find someone to treat her as well as he given her health. He was the love of her life, not initially, but the two grew stronger with each passing day. She was the soft spot in Tywin’s stone-cold heart.
As she lunged for the crossbow, hoping Tyrion’s focus would remain on his father long enough for her to act, he spun and let the arrow fly.
A horrible thud to the floor caused Tywin to gain a sudden rush of adrenaline. He pushed himself from his seated position, feet giving out from beneath him as he caught sight of his wife on the frigid floor. An arrow protruded from her neck, a warm pool of blood surrounded her body, and the bright excitement she had in her eyes hours before was gone.
She was just a ghost now, unblinking and unmoving. He felt years of rage bursting from his chest as he tore his wild eyes from his dead lover. Tyrion had taken one from him before, and now he had taken the other. To Tywin, he was a curse sent to punish him for all his cruelty in the past. And punish him he did.
His fingers grazed over hers from her outstretched arm, the heat of life still present in her cooling body.
The last thing he felt was another arrow stabbing through his chest, further breaking an already broken heart.
The last thing he heard was the echoing of footsteps as Tyrion ran from the scene, deserting his father to die with his already dead lover.
The last thing he saw were the unfocused eyes of a woman who gave him everything he ever wanted.
The great Tywin Lannister was dead.

Pairing – Padmé Amidala x Jedi F!Reader
Summary – On a trip to Naboo, Padmé invites you to her chambers to try some of her sweet fruit.
Word Count – 2103
Warnings – Mentions of nudity, sexual themes, and a buttload of innuendos.
A/N – I interrupt the usual scheduled broadcast of male content to bring you a lesbian-filled Padmé reader insert.
As much as I wanted to, I didn't end up writing any smut. I'd be happy to write a smutty follow up if requested.

Naboo was a beautiful planet, overrun by lush flora that cascaded along the immense terrain, with architecture that encapsulated your gaze every time you looked outside your window into the town. What was more beautiful than the landscape of Naboo, was the former queen that derived from it.
Padmé was more beautiful than any creature you had seen before, and she was still a queen in your eyes even after her new political career. Both you and Anakin held the same admiration for lovely Amidala, yet you felt regretful for Anakin when Padmé was the one reciprocating your feelings and not his. You couldn’t often help but stare at the politician when she was in the same room as you, and whenever she caught your adorning gaze, your heart would swell at her flustered appearance.
It wasn’t appropriate for a Jedi to have a relationship with a senator, you and her both knew it too well. A confession of love was never exchanged between the two of you, and neither of you made any obvious advancements to each other especially when alone. When the assassination attempts started, she requested you, personally to be her bodyguard. You of course were content with having to be around the woman for longer. Some nights she would usher you inside of her room to talk and joke around when she had trouble sleeping. The other male Jedi who would stand guard would not have any objection to another female entering her room, so the secrecy remained intact.
She was like your best friend, and whenever she was having one of her political predicaments, you would always try to offer any piece of advice you could muster. She enjoyed your company and the fact that you were very much the middle ground when it came to politics. You didn’t know what most of the words she said meant, but you were so infatuated with her that you gave her your undying support and agreed to every point she made.
A senatorial trip to Naboo was necessary for Padmé, and you graciously accepted her request as her bodyguard yet again and travelled with her to her marvellous home planet. You couldn’t believe the luxuries within the palace of Naboo when you were temporarily housed during your stay. Pillars of stone and marble were delicately carved with the most pristine details you had ever laid eyes on, and the walls stretched far above your head. What you loved the most was how the light always filled every room and hall you walked into. Naboo was always a sunny and tropical planet, and you felt yourself wanting to retire your Jedi lifestyle and live out your days here.
Your ship had arrived a day too early, and Padmé’s presence wasn’t required yet, so she was given a day of leisure. You were requested to her chambers a few hours after she started camping out in it since you landed. When you entered, the warm sunlight beautifully decorated the room as it did for all of them, and you saw her seated at a small desk in front of open arches that let in most of the sunlight. She stood from her chair when you entered, and you bowed in return.
“You must be sweltering under all those robes. Truly, you Jedi never fail to impress me with your resilience.” She had broken the ice and started to make her way toward you. As she approached, her whole body was now exposed and no longer obstructed by the ornate desk she previously had been hiding behind. Her dress was made of a fine and sheer material, perfect for the current climate. And because the fabric was so thin, you could see the way it draped over her breasts, and her nipples protruding against it. When you glanced and saw them, it was very brief. You didn’t want your beloved senator to think you were perverted and dismiss you from ever joining her on a trip again.
She walked behind you and reached up to dip her fingers under your robes. She pulled it back and you allowed the outerwear to slip from your body. She chucked it on a nearby seat before walking around in front of you. She started to reach for the belt on your tunic but your hands grabbed her wrists in protest.
“Please, Senator. You don’t have to.” Your voice was quiet when you spoke, and the look she gave you in return was just as soft.
“I want to.” She said, her voice coated in sweetness as the words dripped off her tongue. You let go of her supple skin and watched as she fiddled with the material until you were free of the clothing to your upper half. She walked around like she did before and pried it from your body, where it joined the other piece of your uniform. You stood before her in the thin clothing that was hidden under your robes. You were, unfortunately, not as naked as you’d like to be, but it was nice to have the heavy costuming gone from your body.
She then snaked her arm under your own and urged you to walk with her. She stopped before a loveseat at the edge of the room, veiled in plush blankets and pillows, and she urged you to sit with her. There was a short table in front that sat a bowl of exotic and vibrant-coloured fruit.
“I should let you borrow one of my many dresses one day. I own far too many, and it is unfair that you must suffer under all those layers.” She joked, and you couldn’t help but smile at her. The sun that drowned the room in its light allowed you to take into appreciation of her appearance. Her skin was smooth and soft, reflecting the warmth of the sunlight, and you always relished in the feeling anytime she took your hand or the way it would brush your face anytime she tucked fallen strands of hair behind your ear. She had taken notice of your staring, and added another comment. “You would look very beautiful in them.” You must have accidentally swallowed caterpillars at some point because they had now decided to blossom into butterflies that danced inside of you at her words.
“I fear Master Windu might not feel quite as passionate as you do, Senator.” You made a soft laugh, and she did the same.
“Please, you needn’t call me that while we’re alone. You know I love it when you say my name.” She requested you. You couldn’t deny her plea when she looked as ravishing as she did.
“I would love to try on your stunning dresses, Padmé.” You told her, and her shoulders relaxed in a quiet sigh. It brought silence thereafter, so she changed the subject and turned her attention to the bowl of assorted fruits on the table. The bowl itself was a golden and ornate dish itself, long and somewhat deep to hold as many diverse off-world fruits as it could fit. Some were round and covered in fuzz, some had spikes, and some had a beautiful gradient colouring. You knew the people of Naboo are adamant about their fruit consumption, so it was no surprise that the former queen had plucked a large ovoid-shaped fruit, its colouring imitated a sunset, and held it in front of you.
“You should try the fruit.” She told you. You really wanted to try the fruit, her fruit more specifically. “It is difficult to import it to Coruscant, so it is best to enjoy the little things while they are here.” Spoken like a true leader. You always found her so fascinating, so inspiring. You loved her Naboo quirks on Coruscant, always craving fruit, the way she cut her food, her fashion taste. To you, she was perfect. 
“I would normally cut into this on a platter, but since we’re alone…” It was more of a request for approval, and you gave it to her. You happily do anything for the goddess that sat beside you. She hummed to herself when she brought the fruit to her lips before sinking her teeth into it with grace. She made an odd noise and flinched after she had ripped a chunk of the fruit’s flesh into her mouth. You panicked when she did so, worried that she had hurt herself. She laughed to herself when she removed her full mouth from the fruit, and you could see the bright red liquid seeping from the fruit’s wound and running down her arm.
After the panic had died down, you saw the same red liquid bleeding from between her lips, now rolling down her chin and dripping onto her nice gown. She brought her other, clean hand to her chin and wiped away the forming pigmented droplets. You were too occupied by her soft lips, which were now stained from the juices of her delicacy.
After her little slip up, she focused her attention back on you while she chewed. Empty-handed, and mouth dry from your awe-induced panting from watching her indulge herself. She always made sure you were given the attention that you deserved, and it was something you always appreciated about her. Maybe it was her experience in her roles of ruling and leadership, but she always made sure you had a voice and an equal turn to share. She was never selfish. So, with the fruit pinched between her fingers, she lifted it close to your face.
“You should try the fruit.” She suggested. You never refused her. If she wanted you to kill every senator on Coruscant, you would do it without hesitation. She moved the fruit to your lips, insistent on feeding it to you herself, and you obliged. You opened your mouth, and she fitted the edge of the fruit gently inside your mouth. You sunk your teeth into the soft and fluffy flesh like Padmé had done prior, and bit into the part that intersected with her bite. Padmé had her mouth agape only partly when you took your bite, and she couldn’t detach her gaze from your lips. You felt its juices squirt into your mouth, the entire mound of flesh was drenched in wetness, and like the woman who didn’t expect the attack of liquid before you, you felt the juice begin to leak down your chin. With your Jedi instinct, before Padmé could tear the fruit from your lips, you slurped as much juice from your portion as you could, hopeful it would leave less mess on Padmé’s arms. Not that you minded the mess.
Your mouth now full of supple flesh and its juice, you began to chew. It was so soft in your mouth that you didn’t need to use your teeth, you could just close your jaw and the fruit would willingly compress itself, spitting out even more juice from within the confines of your mouth. You wanted to giggle at the messiness but before you could wipe the remnants away, Padmé was already onto it.
“Here, let me do it for you.” She whispered. She didn’t reach out to wipe the liquid away, instead, she leaned up close to you and her tongue darted around your chin, lapping up the sweet nectar and it slid upwards to your lips. Her mouth hugged yours, the sensation was blissful. It was better than you had ever fantasised. Her lips were so very soft, and the passion was growing at every passing moment you spent with your mouth latched to hers, moving in sync with each other.
Your overwhelming need for her evolved into you pushing your tongue into her mouth. You could taste the sweetness that laced her spit while your tongue danced around inside of her. Your hand reached up to hold the side of her head, and her own hands were preoccupied dragging your other hand past her dress, and you could indulge yourself in feeling every part of her flesh as she guided you to her chest. Your hand splayed out around her breast, and it was as soft as the rest of her skin. She made soft moans into your mouth as you caressed her, which ignited the heat between your legs. You wanted to drink her juices like you did the fruit, and you were just as tempting to her. For so long you had repressed the expression of admiration for Padmé, but now that you were on the serene planet of Naboo, you could finally show her how much you worship your queen.

         the gag was in place, as were the restraints—the only security apparatus that wasn’t currently in use was the nullification collar. it was useful in certain respects ( they weren’t immune to abilities by any sense of the word ) but they had also found that others in their workplace... tended to overuse them. what was the point of studying mutation if they refused to allow them to express themselves? their position being precarious as it was, the colony had made no attempt to criticize the behavior.. but that didn’t mean that they abided by the same codes and restrictions that others felt necessary.
         “before we begin, we find it necessary to explain the procedure. you may listen, or you may not, but we would appreciate a response when we’ve finished. as a reminder, you will not undergo permanent bodily harm from our work, today. we have isolated a gene responsible for rapid regeneration and have been given permission to make use of it, here. it has worked on others and we have found no genetic markers that would prevent it from working on you.” the disclaimer was unnecessary to most, but the colony found it useful to keep test subjects in the loop. the more they understood, the more they could participate appropriately. having all variables in a given equation was paramount.
         “today we will be performing a transorbital lobotomy. this decision has been made in order to preserve skull structure and reduce post-surgery clean up. this procedure involves taking this instrument—” the hands briefly lifted the orbitoclast into her field of vision, “—and inserting it through the eye socket to access the frontal lobe, which we will be temporarily separating from your thalamus. we are interested to see whether this will reduce the psychological effects of your mutation.” the voice paused, giving the hands a moment to pick up the small hammer they would soon make use of. “we will give you a moment to prepare. do you understand our intentions, today? a nod would be appreciated.”

About Pro Shipping
What is Self Shipping?
Self shipping is a lot like normal shipping, but instead of pairing two characters together, people pair themselves, or their "self-inserts," with a character that they like. These ships can grow to mean a lot to the person and the character, AKA Fictional Other, may be a partner, parental figure, friend, or sibling to the person/self-insert.
Why do people Self Ship?
People Self Ship for a variety of reasons. It can be for comfort, as someone feels like pairing with their F/O helps them deal with troubling things. It can also be for fun as someone may use Self Shipping as a hobby and get joy from pairing themselves with their favorite characters. Someone could also have a totally different reason for their Self Shipping, either way they feel a genuine connection to their F/O.
Does your Self Insert have to be exactly you?
Nope! Someone's Self Insert, or "S/I", can be their true self, their idealized version of themself, completely different, or anywhere inbetween. Some people give their S/I's different names, appearances, and characteristics than their IRL self and that's okay!
Is Self Shipping the same as Pro Shipping?
No, Pro Shipping is the belief that it is okay to ship minors with adults and family together because it's "fiction." Self Shipping is shipping a S/I/yourself with someone appropriate. It is frowned upon in the community to "age down" your Self Insert or ship romantically with a minor when you're an adult. A majority of the community does not accept Pro Shippers and this blog doesn't either.
How many F/Os can you have?
You can have as many F/Os as you want. There are people with just one F/O and people with dozens, both are valid. Some people who have multiple F/Os have a "primary" Other who they prioritize above the rest, however that isn't a necessary component.
Can you marry an F/O?
People may fictionally marry their F/O and have a little ceremony or just do something special to commemorate the occassion. While I don't believe it is legal to lawfully marry them, you can call them your wife/husband/spouse and do something fun to celebrate. :)

1. Planning
I try to alternate between gifsets based on quotes and gifsets based on a single scene for the cql edits I create! This is because the ones based on quotes require significantly more thinking for me to come up with scenes to fit, alongside getting all of them to adhere to one colour scheme and then inserting the typography, rather than just me focusing on a single scene 😅 This time it was time for me to pick a quote, which I usually do from my #words tag on my tumblr where I like to collect poetry I resonate with.

For the quote used in this set, I had thought that it fit wangxian so I had already tagged it to find later 😄 I also searched it up to read a little more on the background of the story and author and was surprised to find that it was from a short story on gay, unrequited love, which made it somehow more appropriate as I wanted to fit lwj’s perspective during his mourning years.
To select the scenes, I split the quote up into four lines and wrote the summary of the the scenes that demonstrated them quite literally, as in the things lwj did for wwx out of love even when wwx was pushing him away, + ep number and timestamps for easier gif creation. I knew that I wanted to focus on text effects too so the 3rd gif was specially picked for the horizontal movement of lwj across the frame.
2. Creating
- oh, let my chest split open (wen brand at the cold springs)
- let my blood spill over (blood running down his hand as he holds onto wwx)
- body be still! (lwj holding the rods as punishment for visiting burial mounds)
- i’ve bled for you, and you won’t even show me your face. (wwx pushing lwj’s hand off his and turning away)
I use Handbrake to isolate the scenes I want and then Photoshop to import and pare down the number of frames. I favour larger gifs, especially so that there’s room for the typography, so these were the usual 540px ratio across for cropping. For the first gif in this set, I didn’t have the special episodes downloaded so I used a screen recorder to get the needed frames of lwj’s chest brand! I remember not being happy enough with the length/framing of the brand from the regular episodes. I didn’t cut out his nipple and so many tags I see talk about it 😂
Colouring
Okay so! I knew I wanted to try out a darker colouring as the ones I do are more bright, so I went to look for tutorials and I found this psd that had a good effect for what I wanted after I modified/removed many of the layers. I wanted to work with existing colours already within the chosen scenes rather than modifying or emphasising them to go with the muted, anguished mood of the quote. The colour scheme thus became dark, maroon red (wwx) from the blood and wwx’s tassel, as well as turquoise (lwj) from the water and lwj’s robe. I then added a channel mixer layer and selective colouring layers to make the turquoise of the waters that the psd had removed stand out more, and then another vibrance layer and an additional selective colour so that I could match the blues/reds across gifs. Thankfully, I could copy this colouring over to the other gifs with a few alterations of hue/saturation, curves and levels 😊 After colouring, I resize, denoise, and sharpen the gifs.

Typography
I really wanted to work with some text effects and get out of my comfort zone in this one. In line with the three parts of the first line of exclamation in the quote (and the parallel structure for the first two parts which I found hit so hard 😭), I wanted to highlight the alliteration I found in them - the words ‘split’, ‘spill’, and ‘still’. For the first two gifs, I decided on linear gradient overlays at 45 degrees + taupe drop shadows with the colour from the colour scheme other than the colour already in the gif. In the second gif, I used the pen tool to draw a line (in blue below!) that followed the curvature of their hands, then pasted the text in. I realised that I had to draw a separate line for the word ‘spill’, which after a lot of trial and error turned out to be much simpler after turning off the first pen layer visibility (the new line kept connecting to the first 😓)

As for the third gif, I initially thought of masking each frame to make the words appear as lwj moved from left to right, then I remembered that using the ‘overlay’ blend mode on the text hides it when it is on top of the colour black! 😄 In this case, lwj’s hair is black so I just had to position the words properly so that the words ‘body be’ would reveal themselves while giving time for the word ‘still’ to also have a nice effect after. (If you look closely you can see them a little in lwj’s hair 😅) The word ‘still’ took a lot longer to figure out, but in the end using ‘difference’ for the overall text layer and ‘pin light’ for the dark maroon colour overlay gave the clearest dark red effect as the camera panned.

Finally, in the last gif, I wanted to have the effect of the word ‘face’ change from a dark maroon gradient to turquoise with wwx’s hand moving lwj’s away to have it be a bit symbolic I guess 😅 of wwx’s leaving lwj? The ‘linear burn’ setting for the overall text layer (solid turquoise) and ‘difference’ for the gradient overlay (maroon) ended up working best to make the red disappear the moment wwx’s hand ran over the word, unlike other settings where the colour looked mixed/too messy.
3. Posting
I usually save the gifs and look at them on tumblr to see if I need to adjust any colours to match better or make them more vibrant (and ask yan what she thinks HAHA). These were fine, so I wrote the caption to summarise the source of the quote, added links to research and the op of the quote on tumblr, and wrote my tags. If it’s a post with translations of what the characters are saying/from the novel I typically take more time to edit the translations/do my own translation. I check if it is loading fine on mobile and edit the saved draft if necessary, then I post! 💕

Korg USB-MIDI Driver for Windows XP
The new terminal product TRM-6T will be available as prototype starting from 3Q2020.
The first time you connect the Korg USB MIDI Device to the USB port of your computer, the default USB-MIDI driver for Windows will be installed automatically. If you want to use the Korg USB-MIDI Driver for Windows XP, use the following procedure to reinstall the driver.

The package provides the installation files for FTDI USB Serial Port Driver version 2.12.16.0. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. Update the device driver In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager. Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update. Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Garmin Support Center is where you will find answers to frequently asked questions and resources to help with all of your Garmin products.
The driver must be installed separately for each USB port you use. If you connect the Korg USB MIDI Device to a USB port different than the one you used when installing the Korg USB-MIDI Driver, you will need to reinstall the Korg USB-MIDI Driver using the same procedure.
In order to install (or uninstall) the driver in Windows XP, you must have Administrator privileges. For details, contact your system administrator.
If you encounter problems during installation, you may need to make settings so that Windows will not stop you from installing the driver due to its lack of a digital signature. For more information, see Allowing installation of an unsigned driver.
This driver is for Windows XP and Windows XP x64 Edition only. It cannot be used in Windows 95/98/Me.
Both 64bit application and 32bit application can't access MIDI IN ports of the same USB MIDI Device simultaneously.
The driver for windows XP x64 Edition is a beta version. If any bugs are found, please report them to: [email protected]. Use a USB cable to connect the Korg USB MIDI Device to your computer, and turn on the power of the Korg USB MIDI Device.
Windows will detect the connection with the Korg USB MIDI Device. Then the default driver will be installed.

Excute EzSetup.exe.
The list in the upper part of the window shows the KORG USB-MIDI devices that are currently connected to your PC. The lower area shows the software version of the KORG USB-MIDI Driver you are about to install.
From the list, choose the KORG USB-MIDI device that is currently connected to your PC, and click Install. Driver installation will begin.
3. If a dialog box appears, warning you that the driver is not digitally signed, click Continue Anyway.
4.
When the dialog box indicating that installation is completed appears, click Finish.
If a dialog box recommends that you restart Windows, click Yes to restart.

4. Click Finish to complete the procedure. To ensure that the driver removal has taken effect, restart Windows.
n Installing the Korg USB-MIDI Driver manually

Use a USB cable to connect the Korg USB MIDI Device to your computer, and turn on the power of the Korg USB MIDI Device.
Windows will detect the connection with the Korg USB MIDI Device. Then the default driver will be installed.

From the taskbar, click Start and then click Control Panel to open the Control Panel.
From the Control Panel, start up Sounds and Audio Devices, and click the Hardware tab.
From the list of devices, select USB Audio Device. Make sure that the 'Location' field below the list shows the name of the Korg USB MIDI Device, and click the Properties button.
3. The 'USB Audio Device Properties' dialog box will appear. Click the Driver tab, and then click the Update Driver button.
4. The 'Hardware Update Wizard' dialog box will appear.
In the 'Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?' field, click 'No, not this time' and then click Next.

In the 'What do you want the wizard to do?' field, click 'Install from a list or specific location' and then click Next.
6. In response to 'Please choose your search and installation options, you must click 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install', and then click Next.
7. In response to 'Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware,' click the Have Diskbutton.
8. You will be asked for the name of the folder. Insert the CD-ROM included with the Korg USB MIDI Device into your CD-ROM drive. Then type the name of the folder D:Driver that contains the KORG USB MIDI Driver, and click the OK button. This example is for when your CD-ROM drive is drive D. You will need to change this as appropriate for your computer system; for example, if your CD-ROM drive is drive E, then replace D: with E: in the folder name you type.
9. Make sure that the name of the Korg USB MIDI Device is displayed as the Model, and click Next to begin installing the driver.
10. If a dialog box appears, warning you that the driver is not digitally signed, click Continue Anyway.
11. When the dialog box indicating that installation is completed appears, click Finish. If a dialog box recommends that you restart Windows, click Yes to restart.

Injection Molding Process
Today, injection molding is one of the most widely used methods for fabricating plastic products. It allows a plastic part to be made entirely from a single cycle. Elastomers, duroplast, and elastomers can all be used with it. We will discuss thermoplastic injection molding in the sections that follow.
A Concept of Injection Molding
Injection molding processing began in the nineteenth century when its earliest parts were rather simple, and the molding process had no automation. The main substances used were duroplast and elastomer, with the latter being molded, shredded or soaked. Injection molding of plastic parts has become more efficient due to the development of injection molding machines. The emergence of electronic control systems and later the microprocessor made it possible to manufacture mass-produced plastic items at even higher levels of automation.

A process for injection molding The pellets of raw plastic molding material are small and uniformly sized. Injection molding machines use gravity to feed the plastic into the injection cylinder. The heat tape and the friction of the screw in the cylinder heat the plastic as it enters into the cylinder. Melted plastic pellets are heated, poured under high pressure into a mold that has been cut into the negative geometry of the part. The plastic fills out the form as it melts, forming the part. The plastic solidifies as soon as it cools after injection, shrinking the part as it freezes. This shrinkage is compensated by keeping the part under pressure while it solidifies. Once solidified, the part is cooled and then de-molded. The process cycle is the way time and/or pressure can be controlled and measured. The cycle can be separated into the filling, injection, packing pressure, holding pressure, cooling, and de-molding

Melting The heated barrel and rotating screw is fed with material from the hopper. By heat, friction, and shear force, the material melted by the rotation of the screw is forced through a check valve to the front.

Injection The screw is forced forward from the back end by a hydraulic ram after having been moved forward by the shot of material at the front.

Cooling The tool remains closed until the plastic has completely cooled and hardened in the mould tool cavity. This is usually the longest portion of the injection moulding process.

Ejection The next moulding is performed by back-moving the screw. The tool opens and the plastic part is ejected. Next, the tool closes, and the injection molding process is repeated at 1.   The cooling process occurs simultaneously with packing, holding pressure, and filling processes. Filling The molding material is introduced into the injection machine cylinder into which heating tapes are inserted. The screw moves the plastic pellets into the cylinder in a circular motion, melting into plastic and becoming plasticized. In the screw antechamber is melted plastic material, which is an amount measured equal to the amount of plastic needed for one injection molding cycle. The filling process begins after the plastic has reached the appropriate temperature to achieve shrinkage balance, and pressurization is applied to the process. The following parameters are very important, especially the cylinder temperature, screw rotation numbers, holding pressure, packing pressure, back pressure, filling time, and the screw return cycle (decompression). - -The cylinder temperature is dependent upon material choice. For instance, PE and PP are heated to around 180 degrees while PA 66 is heated to around 270 degrees, and PMMA is heated to around 270 degrees. Each plastic type has a specified temperature for its application. The number of screw revolutions determines rotation per minute. The filling time can be decreased, but if the speed is too high, the friction (shear of the material) may be too great, and this can cause the material to be damaged. - -Backpressure: it is the hydraulic pressure used to run the filling process. A correct back pressure setting guarantees a better mix of the materials while guaranteeing uniform material delivery. - -Filling time is the total amount of time it takes to fill up and tighten the threads followed by decompression, if that makes sense. Generally, it is recommended that the filling time be shorter than the cooling time. - -A screw return system is used to return the screw to its original working position after filling. This increases the pressure in the screw-antechamber and the hot-runner, thereby reducing the possibility of leakage once the melted plastic has been discharged into the mould. - -Packing pressure is the pressure required to fill the part and maintain an optimal temperature totally. - -Holding pressure is applied to the material by lowering the screw speed, which then holds the pressure in place until the gate freezes. Holding pressure is maintained until the gate freezes. Injection The injection process involves the plasticization of the mold cavity by injecting melted plastic into the mold under high pressure by driving a forward trajectory of the screw. Important Parameters: injecting speed, injecting pressure, injecting time. The speed setting of the injection machine is determined by the plastic material and the mould design. The speed setting can be used to control the surface finishing, the filling, the orientation and the shrinkage of the plastic product. The resin requirements for injection moulds are defined by viscosity, reinforcement, and other material additions such as colorants. Care must be taken when using high injection pressures when the mould contains parts with small cross-sections since high shear speed can overcure the plastic. The injected screw speed is the only thing that is controlled with the injected injection speed since the material speed inside the mould is much higher than the screw speed (the smaller the cross-section, the higher the speed). A machine's injection pressure is a function of its injection speed, as the electronic controls automatically determine the necessary hydraulic pressure based on the injection speed. On older machines, the hydraulic pressure could be individually controlled. -Injection time is the time needed to inject the melted plastic. It can be used as a general guideline, where the after-pressure is to be manually adjusted (unfavorable because it is not constant). - Packing Pressure After the injection process, the packing pressure is initiated to offset the shrinkage of the cooling component. Important Parameters: packing pressure elevation, packing pressure time -Packing pressure is the amount of pressure higher than the injection pressure required in order for the after-cycle to work (usually about 30 to 50% of the injection pressure, semicrystalline plastics shrink away from the injection pressure faster than amorphous plastics). Important Parameters: holding pressure elevation, holding pressure time -The final pressure in the packing pressure phase is the holding pressure elevation. At this point, the screw stops, and the pressure of packing is maintained. -Holding pressure time is the amount of time required to reach the gate freeze, which is the temperature at which plastic melts. If the screw is moved back before gate freeze, the loss of pressure results in the plastic melt flowing out of the mold and will result in an incorrect fill. Freezing - The Cooling Process Melted plastic begins cooling inside the mold after injection. The mold is typically built with cooling channels, through which coolant liquid can be circulated to remove heat from around the part. The cooling time required depends on the wall thickness; the thickness of the plastic part will determine the length of the cooling process. The overall cycle time may be determined by both the thickness of the part and the cooling design.  A very simplified cooling calculation is Tk = 2 x S² Tk = cooling time           S= biggest wall thickness A more accurate cooling analysis can be performed with advanced calculations or simulations (MoldFlow, CadMould). The parts must reach the required strength, shape consistency, and level of strength during the cooling phase before they can be de-molded. During the cooling phase, the filler unit (aggregate) preps the batch for the next machining operation. A separate factor that influences cooling time is when the gate freezes. Good shape consistency of a part can only be guaranteed once the gate freeze point is reached since the shrinkage is lost in the process. The gate may still need to be cooled further after it freezes. Ejection The ejection method must be tailored to the shape of the molded parts to avoid damaged products. In general, shrinkage on the mold cores is detrimental to mold release. Large ejection areas uniformly distributed over the molding are recommended to prevent deformation. When no special ejection requirements have been established, the standard ejector pin can be utilized. For cylindrical components such as bosses, a sleeve ejector is used to ensure uniform ejection. Blade ejectors are often problematic because they damage parts often, the plastic part can be damaged easily, and the injection mold requires a lot of maintenance. They are most commonly used with ribbed parts.

Under certain conditions, a centrally located ejector may be used together with an air valve insert. A high-gloss surface may impede mold release because it can cause a vacuum between the capillary wall and the mold. The vacuum can be broken by introducing an air introducing mechanism. When ejector pins and valves fail to operate effectively, a stripper plate or ring may be used. A chain or return pin is often used to operate the stripper plate. Three-plate molds feature two parting lines when multiple cavities are formed or when multiple gates must be built. Parts are pulled away from the runners at the beginning of the opening stage of a three-plate mold. The force required to eject a part could be calculated using the opening stroke of the mold to determine the minimum opening stroke required to remove the part.   Read the full article

Have you ever known a gardener that just never seems to have a successful crop of anything? Ask them what they plant and where- there’s a good chance they plant the same thing in the same place, over and over. They’re not bad gardeners- they’re just missing a step. Suggest they begin to rotate crops from one are to the next, and with a little work, they’ll enjoy harvesting their own food.
Why Rotate Crops in a Home Garden?
Bugs get used to the same crops in the same place. You might as well set plates out when you plant the same thing in the same spot- or in the same container, for that matter.
Diseases that affect one plant will often affect plants in the same botanical family, but not in another. Instead of buying expensive “soil fixers” and pesticides, crop rotation cuts down on disease and pests.
The same pest that adores your tomatoes could starve when faced with corn or another vegetable. That’s worth the effort.
How Proper Crop Rotation is Accomplished
Begin on paper while winter is still blowing outside. This also works throughout the year when each crop is harvested for spring, summer and fall.
Make a list of what you grow, and group those vegetables into their respective families. Measure your garden plot(s), and map them out on the paper.
Beside each plant, label them as spring, summer, fall or winter vegetables. This allows rotation throughout the year and still growing varieties in keeping with the seasons.
What Follows What?
Here are the groups and some examples for each:
A) Greens, grown for their edible leaves
Kale,
Swiss Chard,
Spinach,
Broccoli,
Cabbage,
Salad Greens
B) Fruiting plants, with crops you pick off the plant
Tomatoes,
Potatoes,
Corn,
Peppers,
Eggplant,
Squash,
Cucumbers
Potatoes are included in this group because they are in the Nightshade family with tomatoes, even though the fruit is underground.
C) Roots
Carrots,
Onions,
Salsify,
Turnips,
Beets
D) Legumes that feed and enhance the soil
Beans,
Peas,
Alfalfa,
Peanuts,
and others.
Make the Rotation Plan
Label each area of your garden. For this example, I’ll use a typical four foot wide by eight foot long raised garden bed. Using string, I’ll separate it into four areas, each two feet wide.
The first area gets planted with group A plants, the second, with group B, and so on. The varieties will match the growing season and the time of year. Bush plants are planted with bush plants, vines with vines, and so forth.
In the second four foot by eight foot bed, the first area gets planted with group B plants, then C, followed by D, and finally by group A plants.
Next season or next year, each bed moves over one space.
Each bed is appropriately fertilized and weeded, any dead or broken off leaves are picked up and taken to the compost pile. Any diseases are dealt with rapidly, and the diseased plants are tossed into the general trash, not in the compost.
After a bed is harvested, fresh compost and other amendments are added before new plants are inserted.
Some gardeners allow beds to “sit fallow”- that is, to rest with nothing grown in them. With the addition of compost and appropriate amendments, this isn’t really necessary.
Right now, I have bunching onions that are almost 2 feet tall and nearly an inch wide. This really does work- the original garden bed was heavy clay the color and density of concrete.
Use this method for container vegetables as well.
You’ll enjoy crops all year long in your healthy and productive garden beds.

I am beginning to hate the words “I’m genuinely asking”.  It almost always means its going to be followed up by hater discourse.
Sorry for sending so many asks my thoughts are fragmented as fuck but how does otherkin stuff use totemism besides the use of the word kin? I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong I'm genuinely asking.
Ain’t no problem homie.
Otherkin uses the concept from Totemism because of how similar they are when it comes to spiritual beliefs.
From what I understand, the Native Americans believe that their spirits is guided by a non-human being and they have a kin relationship with that spirit. The spirits can vary from any animal like a fox, wolf, rabbit, etc. This being is often called a totem.
Because of this they feel connected with this being, so eventually the persons spirit becomes their guide. In which many Natives and others identify with (which is why it’s often referred to as “spirit animal”)
This is where Otherkin comes in play.
Many people say that their kin with wolves, dragons and all that and claim that they’re not human, they’re Otherkin. That their spirit is *Insert animal/deity/person* and it’s who they identify and have a connection with. This is awfully similar to Totemism.
It doesn’t help when many try to use Native American beliefs as back up :/
I don’t have a problem with Totemism, that you have a spirit animal or anything similar. It’s a belief.
But when you’re running around saying that you were never human, acting as your supposed “kin” and start attacking others out of no where, it gets out of hand and taken to the extreme.
