"happy birthday," you mumble, nose nuzzling against his own. it earns a smile from him, and you're all too eager to kiss it once more. "sorry to wake you."

he just chuckles, "it's okay," and cuddles in. his forehead presses against your neck, and he wraps his arms around you. "what time is it?"

"... late."

he peeks up and squints at the clock. it's almost two in the morning. what went late? your job? your ride? he'll have to ask later. you wrap your arms around him and hold him close, pressing a kiss against the side of his head. he lifts his head just enough that you can hear him: "good night."

"good night," you murmur back. your fingers are playing with the hair at the back of his neck but growing slower by the second. "i love you."

he pecks your neck one last time before settling in. "love you, too."

super interested in this stuff especially after this episode because i really think they are using one of these on irving at the end of it. theres not a chance in hell they’re just waking outie irving up and letting him see the aftermath of everything that just happened especially not when the other innies are there!! they have to be using one of the other overrides

absolutely certain that helly is in fact helena is in disguise by this point and it was not a difficult thing to work out frankly but what absolutely knocks me on my ass is the REASON she's down there. after 2x01 we all assumed she was trojan horseing herself to spy on the rest of MDR and dissuade them from causing any more trouble. makes perfect sense right the fate of this company is in her hands. but NO!!! helena with her incredibly privileged spoiled brat outlook on everything, who has been told she's part of the most important lineage that's gonna save the world her whole life, sees a version of herself she heretofore did not even see as HUMAN forging the kinds of connections she has never had once in her life, and you think she's just gonna keep sending her down there and letting her have that? when she, the heiress of lumon and great granddaughter of kier, doesn't? she wants to experience what it's like to have no one expect anything of you, where you can express yourself however you want and kiss people just because you feel like it!! she views her innie as so far beneath her and yet she's so desperate for a taste of what it's like to be her! so much she's willing to KILL HER!! she's down there because she's fucking jealous of her innie!!! girl oh my god!!!!

It's obviously a diabolically infantilizing move by Lumon to make all the innies' manager a child but do we think it's also some sort of dig at Milchick? His computer's home screen still says 'Cobel' AND he has a child as his second in command and there's a moment near the end of the first episode where he seems to be terse with her, ordering her out of the room and closing the door when she tries to talk to him.

We have talked a lot about the angst and the torture innies go through, but what about Curt M. and Owen C. with a melon party? What about a music/dance experience? What genre would they even pick?

I do see Owen C. as a defiant jazz kind of guy, but thoughtful grunge is also an Owen pick. For Curt M. I can only see reckless disco. Hootin' tootin' country would only be picked by either of them if they want to annoy the other.

basically I'm obsessed with the last five minutes of this ep but it otherwise seemed a weird order to do things in/generally something just seemed off

mdr (+ petey) outie hobby headcanons:

Mark Scout, as we know, would go on hikes and stuff with devon and ricken when gemma was alive, so I do feel like he's probably kind of outdoorsy (though not really athletic). strikes me as being sort of a family thing, i bet mark and devon went camping and stuff as kids.

Helena Eagan does not have hobbies. (as in I feel like she's not really given the leeway to have them. based on her innie though I feel like she'd fuck with kickboxing and competitive sports- maybe tennis? also she should be at the cluuuuub)

Dylan George strikes me as a gamer tbh- both in terms of video games (he picked up that overtime contingency konami code mad quick) and probably sports as well (I think soccer for him for whatever reason). We see from his innie that he likes collecting things and has a competitive stream which makes me want desperately to see him play a board game with Helly tbh. I also feel like he'd be a bit of a movie geek.

Irving Bailiff has a clear interest in the arts- I imagine he likes going to museums, and probably has some interest in history as well. he also strikes me as someone who would enjoy a good play. I can also imagine him going for jogs or at least long walks with Radar.

Peter Kilmer, my very good friend, was DEFINITELY in a band when he was younger. We know he's a Rock Dad and that he plays an instrument (bass if I'm not mistaken!), and I feel like he's the type to collect some form of physical music (I'm inclined to say cassettes if for no other reason than that it lends itself to the theory that he snuck out the breakroom tape by unraveling and later reassembling it). I also think he's a bit of an artist, we know he's a doodler based on his map (honestly I have been trying to figure out what relevance the doodles on said map may hold, but I also know that Yul Vazquez drew the map himself and based it on his own work, so). I like to think he's a bit outdoorsy too but that may just be a combo of explaining to myself how he was surviving in a greenhouse and the fact that I like to think that him and mark would have gone on hikes together as outie friends
