The Inner Librarian
To follow mypost about "Grimoires" :
Here is what catches my attention in your answers :
1-Books that are dormant and that awaken when the time is right. Which is somewhat similar to what @witchcraftingboop writes : books that have their own presence. Books that in one way or another make noise in themselves. Do you have any examples? Could you describe your feelings? (~ @friend-crow's nausea) 2-This kind of passion that we maintain with some books, the one we work with AND the one that works us. -> Are they the same ? 3-Not being able to afford this or that book, staying free. 4-Notebooks that act as oracles and also act as receptacles. So do you consider Marseille Tarot decks or other types of card oracles to be books? - For my part, I have a copy of the Mutus Liber which has always disturbed me a lot because it is "mute", which in a way "blinds" me (but I can't say how exactly or "what") and which I feel "white as milk". Of course it echoes to alchemy and hermeticism but that's not the point. The point is -> I've been avoiding reopening it since 5 years !
I have another book, which - in my experience - brings #diehard change. I always have an unpleasant feeling of cold wind (La "bise" we say in France) when I open it. The Fair Folks also seem to appreciate it a lot. It's a translation of the Egyptian Book of Gates. I really don't open it often :D
-
NOW : 3 questions for the witches book team :p 1/ Do you have haunted notebooks? How do you go about making your notebook magical ? What is a magical notebook according to you ? Has a "haunted" notebook ever taken you by surprise ? (you didn't expect it to be haunted for example.) 2/ To follow up on @witchcraftingboop super interesting post, how do you practice bibliomancy? (it doesn't have to be super complicated, nor spiritual, I'm just asking out of curiosity, I'm not making a judgment on what someone does or doesn't do ^^) Do you need a special book to practice bibliomancy? A book related to the occult, to spirituality, to religion? Or not necessarily ? And why ? 3/ Rarity VS industrial books. What can we say about the presence of one and the other? What do we put of ourselves in a book or a notebook that we want to awaken?
Yes I'm tagging you all again :D <3 @witchcraftingboop @friend-crow @windvexer @buddyblanc @gryphis-eyes @graveyarddirt @blackthornwren @la-dame-grise @gamayunsteward @lailoken @wildwood-faun @unseelie-witch @fur-teeth-bones-earth @reno-matagot @satsekhem @satsuti @aechlys @rainbluealoekitten @stormcrow513 and sorry if I forgot someone!

"lucienne and death aren't shown as anything other than the supporters of white male characters in the show so that's why i only write them as such in fic" so what. not only is that FALSE, there isn't any graphic tentacle porn in canon either and that doesn't stop anyone from writing it, does it?

My Dark Angels are in progress. This time it's Grand Master Azrael, a Librarian, and his Inner Circle Companions. I decided to only use Gold on the Lion, since he's the Primarch, so everyone else gets Bronze, except for Azrael, he's getting Silver because he's Chapter Master and therefore second in command.
I will say the most frustrating thing about painting them is the fact that Azrael's helmet keeps getting in the way. I got him used so he was already assembled when I got him, otherwise I would have painted him in sub assembly.

Master Your Frequency: Coffee with The Librarians
Have you heard the phrase, “It’s not about you?” What if it was all about you? In this episode, The Librarians explain that while we are all silos, experiencing ourselves as only we can, the name of the game on Earth is being the master of our own frequency, the master of our own energy. Trump’s first 4 years created a lot of havoc, no matter which side of the aisle you were on. That time frame…

>be me
>looking for MegOP fics on AO3
>see fic tagged IDW1
>fic has Megatron/Optimus as the main characters
>there's only a couple other ships so I know they're going to be at least one of the main ships and not a background ship
>I click
>see the author's note
>"I tagged IDW but it's mostly continuity soup" etc etc "and archivist Orion Pax"
#squiggposting#this is why i gave up looking for idw megop fic years ago#and now i only read my friends' fic OR fic they recommend or i just write/read my own stuff#idk if my presence in the fandom has swayed more people to actual idw OP content. i havent checked lately#honestly more sad than ppl refusing to write coptimus is how they don't even write their OPs like idw op's personality#if you gave me like. an angry jock librarian with the loyalty of a puppy and impulsive anger issues then i would be fine#but everyone just does dockworker/librarian/whatever OP who's mainly just a Good Guy#which is like. inoffensive enough i guess#but if your problem with idw op is that he's a cop. then just make him not a cop and keep his personality#but no one does that. big thinks as to why#bc ppl either don't know what idw op's personality is or they don't like that his depression comes out as being distant or angry#squeaky clean optimus whose depression is just him being sad and forlorn ONLY. we cannot have him be flawed#or have his flaws/inner turmoil manifest in destructive ways/ways that make bad things happen

What's a non comp het relationship
Oh thank you for asking my dear, I shouldn't have assumed everyone knows this term/abbreviation!
Compulsory heterosexuality (comphet) was a term popularized by Adrienne Rich in the 1980 article "Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence" (linked below). In the article, Rich examines the way we as a society assume that women are sexually and romantically attracted to men as the default (aka that heterosexuality is the default).
While Rich focuses on how this assumption in feminist spaces is harmful (specifically because of its implications in a patriarchal society), queer people have continued to use this phrase to explain things like "crushes" young people may experience before realizing their queerness. For example, it is common for young women to believe they have crushes on young men/enter into a relationship with them before realizing that actually they are not attracted to them and are in fact lesbians. (I can attest to having experienced this myself and feeling deeply confused when kissing did nothing for me)
For the sake of my poll in which I use this term, I am asking how old folks were when they first entered into a relationship with someone that they were in fact attracted to, rather than just feeling obligated to participate in due to societal expectations

I'm so emotional about my cousins.
Background: I (17f) was diagnosed as autistic only lately, after years of doctors denying my difficulties. My aunt (Miriam) and her partner (limor) have 6 kids, 3 from each one. Limor's youngest (3m) was diagnosed as autistic lately, and Miriam suspects that her eldest, Mila (6f) is also autistic.
Mila is not only one of the sweetest children I've ever met (I'm biased because she's my cousin), but she's also one of the people that understand me the most. She is like a miniature version of me, in almost every way. There's one major difference though - she has me.
It sounds like I'm just complementing myself, but.... I never had an older person understand me as a child. Most of my childhood trauma is just from growing up undiagnosed and misunderstood. My family is the best, but no matter how much they tried, they could never understand what I mean when I said a smell was too noisy or that I couldn't stop brushing my teeth. Mila can. And I understand what she means when she talks about "acting weird" when people invade her personal space, or completely silent environment being too loud. This child knows I understand what she's going through. Her mother can ask mine for advice.
I'm living my childhood again through my cousin. We can watch cartoons and invent fantasy worlds and pretend to be animals, and this time, I'm not feeling alone. Neither will she. As long as I'm here, this girl will never feel misunderstood. Even when I'm not near her, she'll know she's not alone. Her mother will know that other kids are like this too, and she could take better care of her. Mila, her little brother, and all of their siblings are growing up with knowledge I only wish I could have, and I'm so happy I get to be a part of that.

TRUTH. I don't mind working in the office and enjoy actually seeing my colleagues.
However the fact that I need to be on a train for over an hour to get there is the worst. I'm surrounded by sick people, people who don't understand personal space and people who don't believe in using headphones.
Not to mention the fact that I have to get up 90 minutes earlier than I do when I WFH and when adding the commute home am out of the house for nearly 12 hours.
#seriously if I still lived in the inner suburbs I'd probably go to the office more often#WFH#librarian things#headlines I read in the paper today

I work for a large US city library and I worked in several of the inner city branches and can’t tell you how many times we had to closed the bathrooms due to drug addicts (who we cannot deny access) shoot up in the bathrooms and leave their used needles on the floor.
So we have no choice but to shut the bathrooms down for the actual patrons as it’s considered a biohazard and had wait for specific cleaning crews to handle.
And yes Ive had to call the cops numerous times to remove homeless men that I caught masturbating (one pervert was by the children’s section).
Work in an inner city library. The librarians and staff deserve hazard pay!!!
So Fox News ran a story about how they think libraries are turning into drug-infested sex dens and I am shocked, shocked that I was never offered any drugs during my 15+ years working in libraries.

18+ Perv! Eddie, Eddie Munson x F! reader, friends to lovers, ogling, flashing(f) Summary: Eddie gives into his pervy side and you decide to have a little fun with him. WC:1K
A/N: Inspired by that one scene from Inventing the Abbotts. Enjoy!
The first time it happened it was an accident.
It started when he noticed you sitting a few tables away from him at the Hawkins Library when he looked up from his D&D campaign notes, quietly observing you out of the corner of his eye as you flipped through your college coursework.
He couldn't help but feel like he'd been blessed with a second chance, like this was his opportunity to finally get close to you after chickening out every time he came close to asking you out back when you were classmates in Highschool. But now that you're working on your degree here at a local college instead of schlepping off to another state, Eddie was slowly but steadily working up the nerve to finally do it.
But things became a little... complicated before he could try.
A week had passed and he'd fallen into the habit of stealing glances at you from a few tables away, hoping you couldn't feel his eyes on you while he tapped his pencil against his notes.
Today he was completely taken with the way you looked in your lavender dress, suspecting it to be a brand new addition to your wardrobe because he'd already had the rest of your outfits memorized. He liked the way the light caught the pretty jewelry adorning your fingers and neck too, distracted by they way they glinted and shimmered when suddenly he fumbles his grasp and his pencil slips free from between his fingers.
It rattles when it strikes the floor, rolling away under his table, too far for Eddie to try and pull it closer with his foot. With a sigh, he slinks out of his seat and crouches to retrieve it, about to get back up and into his seat when he happened to look in your direction, his whole body going completely still.
He only looks for a couple of seconds, rooted in place as he's treated to the perfect view right up your skirt, the hem of your dress sitting high around your thighs and your knees parted.
He could see every inch of your bare inner thighs from where he's ducked under the table, all that soft skin usually hidden from his sight beneath your clothes but what really made his heart thud rapidly against his ribcage like a paddle ball was that he could see your panties clearly too; sunny yellow with pretty daisies printed onto the cotton. He decides it's his new favorite color.
Those handful of seconds drag on for what feels like hours, committing every detail to memory until Eddie suddenly comes to an alarming realization, a familiar feeling beginning to stir below his belt.
He rips away then, scrambling noisily as he gathered his belongings which earns him a sharp look from the librarian and a curious look from you, quirking a brow up at him. Less than gracefully, he makes a break for the exit, mortified that he'd popped a semi in public just from getting a little peek up your skirt.
Never again, he'd sworn to himself.
Never again...
The second time it happened was no accident.
He knew it was wrong. He knew it was a sleazy thing to do. He knew he shouldn't do it. But after wrestling with the urge for three whole weeks, Eddie couldn't help it any longer.
You hadn't looked up much from your work today, scribbling and erasing and flipping through text books in peace.
Eddie tried to play it off exactly like last time, sly as he purposely knocks his pen over the edge of the table with his elbow, feigning annoyance as he slipped out of his seat and crouched underneath the table to seemingly to pick it up.
You're wearing a plaid skirt today, once more baring more of your thighs with the hem pulled up high but your knees weren't spread as far apart this time, denying him a clear view of your panties.
Just when he thinks he ought to give up and get back in his seat, your right knee sways away from your left, offering him a better view of your lilac panties, his newest favorite color as both of your legs spread so far apart that Eddie remains firmly rooted in place.
He drinks in every detail. The little birthmark on your left inner thigh, the way your panties cup your core so closely with your sweet pussy underneath that thin layer of lace and cotton, even the scar on your right knee, now mostly faded but still discernible if you look close enough and Eddie definitely was.
Seconds pass by again and he's simply too entranced to bother to be more careful. He commits every part of you to memory, eager to think back on every mental snapshot he's taken of you for when he's home with his hand curled around his dick.
But before he can think about it any longer, before he can enjoy the view you've granted him just a little more, reality suddenly comes crashing down on Eddie as a torn off sheet of paper is lowered beneath your table and held it between your legs where he's had his eye's fixed for the last few moments.
'Hi, Eddie'
He shoots up so quickly he ends up ramming the top of his head against the table, the impact echoing throughout the library as he smashes his gel pen against the wood in the process as well. The force of it snaps the ink chamber and sends splashes of navy blue ink across his shirt, chin and cheek, marking him like a criminal who'd just set off a dye pack.
Several heads turn his way to seek out the source of the commotion but he's too shaken and way too petrified to let the throbbing pain bother him or slow him down. Eddie scoops up his campaign notes and flees the library, but not before daring to look once in your direction, finding you giggling into your hand, your eyes so full of amusement and mirth.
God, he was never going to live this down.
He's all kinds of embarrassed and ashamed as he stalks through the parking lot towards his van, desperate to turn the radio all the way up and scream his frustrations out right there in the driver's seat but by the time he gets close enough to his faithful bucket of rust and bolts, he finds something waiting for him.
Wedged underneath one of the windshield wipers and flapping against the wind is a folded up piece of paper, arousing his suspicions enough to displace his many distressed thoughts.
Pulling it free, Eddie unfolds the little note, instantly recognizing the handwriting as his belly swoops and his chest fills with something far more preferable to the dread he'd been carrying during his bumbling escape. There might be some hope for him after all, he thinks as he continues to re-read the little scrap of paper, a beaming smile breaking out on his ink stained face.
'I've been watching you too. If you ever get tired of just looking, come closer and say hi xx'

I asked if they had Coraline in my school 's library and they said that I can't read because I'm too old
Now I'm sad because the only way I can read now is as a PDF, and reading PDFs SUCKS, I swear I can't stand that woman saying that High School students can't read some books because they're too childish
Coraline is the favorite movie of my inner child and they don't let my teen(almost young adult) self love more one of my favorite histories :(
And they ask what's wrong when I say that I'm gonna k1ll myself in September 7 at 11:32PM
Don't kill yourself. Instead point out to the school librarian that Coraline won the 2003 Hugo Award for Best Novella, the 2003 Nebula Award for best Novel, and on the Guardian List of the 100 best novels of the 21st century it came in at #82. So you are definitely allowed to read it, however young you aren't.
