Even in the aftermath of so much joy, there remained a stillness in the air at Last Light that was undeniable.

The entire setup was but a fragile bubble, ready to pop at the slightest application of pressure. And should it pop, chaos would unfold.

It would be their ruin.

Tension grew until it was near palpable in the air, a murky film that clung to the surface of the skin, no matter how hard one tried to scrub it away.

It felt strange, certainly, to then find happiness in the midst of so much darkness. It almost felt unfair to others that, while they mourned the potential loss of loved ones, Maelstrom discovered true peace in those shadow-cursed lands. The contrast was night and day.

But she would not let anyone ruin that moment for them.

Silly little Sheterius thing I have going on that will be finished Some Time™

The fabric he wears is so soft it makes her jealous, and the frustration bubbles deep within her — that touching him much more will have to wait until after dinner.

"You look good, dear," she says.

He's so responsive.

Mandibles straying away from his face slightly before being pulled back tight against his jaw, and all the while he's fidgeting nervously with a long gloved finger running along the hem of his shirt.

"You don't need to ask to look at my skin."

She knows the teasing will have to be tempered if he is going to speak, but the temptation is so overwhelming when he's so clearly caught between bristling and behaving himself.

"It's nice to know you like my dress, though," she ends up adding. "Come, sit down, let's have dinner."

A snip from my Sheterius fic I NEVER expected to start writing... Something possessed me and I had to write them jsksjksk

I really don't know what happened, but this just somehow became the crack fic I always wanted to write

It takes a lot of effort not to reach out and touch him — the soft, dark fabric clings to his figure so well. She'd smooth her fingers down his front, down his side, down his thighs and along the curves between them. But now isn't the time. Silently she reaches for the bag he'd set on the ground beside him, warding him off with her free hand when he tries to stop her. "Come in," she says, leading him through to the living room. "Shall I leave this in your room?" There's no objection so she purposefully makes off with it. He initially follows, but stalls barely past the doorway, standing there awkwardly when she returns. Nervous or shy as he may be, his eyes still obediently catch her as she crosses the room once more, just as her own zero in on him. Again the sight of those perfect lines reaching from below his chest to down between his legs takes hold of her.
