It habitually inhabits the African savannah in the south of the Sahara, although it usually nestles in more humid habitats. It is characterized by its large white winged spots on the gray plumage, which are visible during flight and exhibition. It inhabits marshes, where it feeds on large insects, frogs and toads, cereals and other vegetables. It flies heavily, with its neck and legs somewhat fallen, and rests in the trees. @Inktober Day 30: Found Búho Real/ Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is a species of strigiforme bird of the family Strigidae. It is a large raptor, distributed throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. It is a super predator that is located in one of the highest places in the trophic chain. Its diet is composed of small rodents, rabbits, hares, squirrels, rats, pigeons, blackbirds and hedgehogs. More rarely, it hunts frogs, large insects and fish. They hunt even on other carnivores such as foxes, and other species of owls and birds of prey. They usually hunt at night, preferring open spaces to forests. Its flutter is very silent, and together with its night vision and its auditory sharpness, it provides exceptional hunting characteristics. (Note: the ability for to found food is amazing!) #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #found #bird #aves #buho #owl #bubo #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 29: United Estornino Pinto/ Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) The Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) is a species of passerine bird that belongs to the Sturnidae family. The starling is a very gregarious species, especially in autumn and winter. Although the size of the flocks is very variable, very large and noisy flocks can be formed near the roosts. In flight, the flocks form a tight spherical formation, expanding and contracting and changing shape frequently, apparently without any leader. Each bird changes its course and speed as a result of the movement of its closest neighbors. Very large concentrations can be formed in roosts, in exceptional cases up to 1.5 million birds. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #united #bird #aves #estornino #pinto #starling #sturnus #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 28: Fall Barnacla Cariblanca/ Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) The Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) is a species of bird anseriforme of the family Anatidae own of the north of Europe and the east of Greenland. The Barnacle gooses usually nest on inaccessible cliffs but like other geese, adults do not feed chicks, so newborns have to go down to the ground to feed. That is why the three-day-old chicks, still unable to fly, have to throw themselves into the void at the call of their parents, to fall down planning. Thanks to their low weight and their soft down, most of them are unharmed by the final impact of the spectacular fall. (If you don’t understand the seriousness of jumping off a 120-meter cliff, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_JoetV3ZTQ ) #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #fall #bird #aves #goose #barnacle #barnacla #branta #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 27: Climb Kakapo (Strigops habroptilus) The Kakapo (Strigops habroptilus) is a species of psitaciforme bird of the parrot family from New Zealand (Strigopidae), it is endemic to New Zealand. It is famous for being the only non-flying parrot in the world. It is the only species of the genus Strigops and of the subfamily Strigopinae. The Kakapos are primarily nocturnal. As they cannot fly, they are excellent climbers, ascending to the top of the tallest trees. They are also able to use their wings as a parachute when launching from great heights, floating majestically to the forest floor. Having lost the ability to fly, the Kakapos have developed very strong legs. The Kakapos are in critical danger of extinction, with only 131 recognized live specimens, all classified. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #climb #bird #aves #kakapo #strigops #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 23: Juicy Arasarí Cuellinegro/ Black-Necked Aracari (Pteroglossus aracari) (Pteroglossus aracari) No bird loves juicy fruits as much as toucans My family and I lived for 5 years in Guri, where the hydroelectric power station is located, and it is literally a village in the middle of the virgin tropical forest, so contact with exotic animals was natural. At home we had toucan of this species that we found lying on the street. It was the most adorable and loving being that I have raised in my life. It broke my heart when died. The Black-Necked Aracari (Pteroglossus aracari) is a toucan of the genus Pteroglossus native to the jungles of Brazil, Venezuela and the Guianas. It feeds on fruits, arthropods and other small invertebrates. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #juicy #bird #aves #tucan #arasari #aracari #pteroglossus #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 21: Furious Cacatúa Galerita/ Sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) I love these birds, they`re just crazy. Their fury lies in the outbursts of madness that sometimes they suffer. The ability to move from anhedonia to destroy everything in its path is admirable. The Sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a species of bird of the family of the cockatoos (Cacatuidae) and member of the genus Cacatua. It is a valued and frequent species as a pet. It is distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical forests of Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. It has been introduced in New Zealand, Palau, Singapore and Puerto Rico. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #furious #bird #aves #cacatua #galerita #cockatoo #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 12: Shattered Quebrantahuesos/ Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus) (I love the plumage of the bearded vulture, it is beautiful) The Bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus), also known as Lammergeier (“sheep vulture“) is a species of accipitriforme bird of the family Accipitridae. It is a distinctly different vulture from other similar prey birds. It receives its name by its custom of going up bones and shells to great heights to release them, to break them against the rocks and to be able to ingest them to feed themselves. It is a threatened species in large areas of distribution, and on the European continent is an animal in serious danger of extinction that has disappeared from several regions where it was previously abundant. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #shattered #bird #aves #quebrantahuesos #beardedvulture #Lammergeier #Gypaetus #vulture #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker

@Inktober Day 22: Trail Picamadero Poderoso/ Powerful Woodpecker (Campephilus pollens) Note: I hate that branch, but I had a problem drawing it and I had to paint it all in black, aghh... One of the definitions of trail refers to leaving a series of marks in our path, so any species of woodpecker would be the best at the time of leaving mark for life the surface of the trees that inhabits. The Powerful Woodpecker (Campephilus pollens) is a species of piciform bird of the family Picidae. It lives in humid forests of the Andes. It is generally found at higher elevations than any other great woodpecker. #inktober #inktober2017 #inktobermcbo #myartistsnetwork #artistsnetwork #trail #bird #aves #picamadero #carpintero #woodpecker #campephilus #ornithology #betosui @artistsnetwork @inktober @jakeparker
