          BLUE CAR JOANNE ROBERTSON
when you can't hear what they're saying but its too beautiful too stop
when you don't know what to say or sing or write but you do to anyway sometimes you look back the next day and its shit but sometimes.....
ITS PURE GOLD
I found this album when it came out due to a post made by ergot records (shoutout Adrian and that crew) and was immediately drawn to to it. The spaced out airy vocals feel like a winters breeze.  The album has this weird melancholy about it that doesn’t bring you down with it but simply leaves you in peace. Maybe the best thing of the year. I love Joanne Robertson so much

he's my most streamed artist this year, a gem.
I reccomend his most streamed albums being black metal & black metal 2, but my favorite right now is soul on fire.

Dean Blunt: Enigma of the Music Scene
Roy Chukwuemeka Nnawuchi, better known by his stage name Dean Blunt, defies easy definition. Elusive, multifaceted, and constantly evolving, his music is a captivating exploration of sound and story. What truly sets him apart?
Blunt, a British artist, wears many hats: singer-songwriter, musician, producer, and the enigmatic leader of his own record label, World Music. His journey began in 2007 with the experimental group Hype Williams. Their sound, like Blunt's solo work, defied categorization, drawing from R&B, hip-hop, rock, and even lo-fi aesthetics.
A Discography of Deception
Blunt's solo career launched in 2012 with The Narcissist II. The album's dark, brooding atmosphere is exemplified by the track "The Narcissist", featuring the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Inga Copeland, a frequent collaborator. Themes of heartbreak and lost love permeate this album and many that follow, evident in titles like "Caught Feelings" and "Are You as Good as I Remember."
Tumblr media
2014's Black Metal marked a turning point. This critically acclaimed album showcased Blunt's signature style: unconventional vocals (think "black cowboy drawl"), genre-bending instrumentals (often featuring unexpected samples), and a captivating storytelling quality. Tracks like "100" (sampling The Pastels' "Over My Shoulder") perfectly embody this fusion.
Blunt's collaborative spirit shines through his work. 2020's Zushi featured established names like A$AP Rocky and Panda Bear alongside his longtime collaborator Joanne Robertson. He's also produced for artists like Delroy Edwards and worked with the visionary producer Arca on his Babyfather project.
Tumblr media
The Allure of the Unknown
The intrigue surrounding Dean Blunt extends beyond his music. He cultivates an air of mystery, with minimal online presence and a reputation for last-minute performances. There are a handful of interviews, but fans have to delve deep, scouring Reddit threads to uncover the "lore" behind the artist. This deliberate obscurity adds another layer to the experience of being a Blunt fan – you feel like you're part of a secret club.
Why Listen to Dean Blunt?
In a world saturated with easily categorized music, Dean Blunt stands out. He's a true auteur, crafting a unique sound that defies genre limitations. Whether it's sampling Kate Bush or collaborating with A$AP Rocky, he weaves a tapestry of influences into a sound entirely his own. There's simply no one who sounds quite like him, a feat that's increasingly rare in today's musical landscape.
Okay that's it. Have a cutsie day!!
Gauri ♥
