The front garden. Lots of ground elder, alkanet, daffodils and grass, what one might call weeds, but all works harmoniously with neighbouring plants. I’m on playground duty and am happy for these kids to play together. I’ll only intervene if I see any bullying or ganging up. The one plant that ties it all together is red valerian, which over the last few years has self-seeded throughout the garden and works perfectly in both the planted and wild areas. What I’ve noticed is that the less I garden, the more wildlife I see.
