It's baking season, this is the worst time to actually commit to avoiding grains ಥ_ಥ
#{domino rambles after dark}#avoid grains and then let myself be just gluten free and then *maybe* have wheat again we'll have to see#basically at square one with my “why are my lymph nodes inflamed” and yeah i think that's the only next step#more or less doing elimination diet#should probably avoid dairy as well and incorporate that back in first#uuuggghhhhh dietary restrictions are really tough for me to deal with#on the bright side i don't have any kind if cancer in my colon. that's nice. very cool.

can you write these prompts 🥶🤒 with damian after reader woke up sick with the tonsillitis and had a match but she didnt want to tell anyone to make him worry until Damian notices
Gotcha my dear!
Determined to win
Pairing: Damian Priest x Fem reader
Description: You wake up sick but decide to go through with your match until your boyfriend notices how sick you are
You woke up with your throat burning and in a lot of pain but you figured it was your allergies or just minor strep so you didn't think nothing of it. You smile seeing your friends and boyfriend, sharing a quick kiss with Damian before getting ready not noticing the look he gives Rhea of how bad you looked as you fix your hair before rhea does your makeup noticing how swollen your lymph nodes on your neck are after feeling them when she was finishing your makeup immediately telling the boys while you changed in your ring gear nor hearing them all agree to each keep an eye on you in case you had gotten worse at any point even if it was during the match you all had against the bloodline "Feeling alright?" you nod at Finn as you take a sip of water to ease your itchy throat before laying a cough drop on your tongue still thinking it was only a minor sickness. The five of you head out and the first half of the match was really good, you managed to go for a long while against Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa before tagging Dom in but soon you feel the energy seep out of you as the rest of the match went on feeling cold, clammy, and exhausted as you free yourself from Jimmy's grasp managing to knock him down and quickly Ha'lua kick him before you started coughing painfully suddenly feeling your body give out as you fall in the ring holding your throat as your team comes in with Finn standing in front of the four of you with his hands raised at the bloodline noticing a concerned solo and jey standing over you "You okay?! What's wrong?!" you mumble hoarsely and roughly that your chest hurts and you can't breathe groaning in pain when rhea opens your mouth and sees your inflamed and swollen tonsils. You are taken backstage and examined with damian by your side while rhea finishes the match and pulls out a win, your three friends rush backstage to see you in damian's arms as they follow him while he walks you outside to take you to the hospital and as soon as they check you out they confirm the medic's diagnosis of tonsillitis and from how bad they were and when the boys and rhea told them about what happened in the ring while being examined, you are immediately taken into to surgery especially after your throat was looked at and the nurse almost yelped in shock by how swollen they were, you wake up after surgery with the on both your sides coughing as you try to speak immediately sipping on water "Why didn't you tell me how sick you were?" you sigh "Not only because I thought it was my allergies or strep I didn't want to be out of the match and leave you guys hanging" they all look at you before pulling you in a hug "You don't have to do that lovely, you're family and your well being matters more to us than any match win or lose" you smile as you eat on a popsicle before heading back to the hotel and eating on some soup before falling asleep with damian next to you watching you closely.

I only spent 3 hours at the hospital because I got there so early on a seemingly slow day very thankful for this because all the doctor had to say was that I probably have some whatever stuck deep in my whatever from a previous sinus infection and that its gonna be a weird time but my body is just dealing with it and doesn't need antibiotics because theres no signs of inner ear infection or issues with my shit and whatnort and my painfully enlarged behind-ear lymph node is "fine" and that it would be a cause for concern if it was inflamed but didn't hurt at all etc etc TLDR I probably don't have mastoiditis but also I guess we'll see what happens because his opinion was based on the 30 seconds spent looking in my ear + a whole lot of speculation

Image: The head and shoulders of a person. They have inflamed lymph nodes, shown by a depiction of their upper lymphatic system in pale green. They also have a butterfly rash on their face and a red patch of skin on their head. To the left of them is the head of a howling wolf, because 'lupus' comes from the Latin word for 'wolf'. Sicktember Day 2 - Quest for a Cure
Fandom: House MD; Chase
Summary: I took a different spin on this and made chase feel like he needs to go on a physical quest to get his cure from the store
Word Count: 550
Yesterday had to have been one of the worst days in the books for Chase. He’s been working his ass off for two years working for House and trying to earn respect. That was hard to do, however, when you were fainting on the job.
He’d felt bad for a few days - swollen lymph nodes, congestion, headache - but he’d be damned if he was going to let that stand in the way. He’d volunteered to do lab work, but House wasn’t having any of it.
“Cameron can do lab work. I want you on clinic duty.”
“But there’s no reason Chase can’t-” Cameron started.
“GEEZ! Well we all know now that you’re sleeping together.” House scoffed.
Foreman snorted back a laugh. Chase started at his boss, pale and sweaty, “We’re not…. That’s not relevant. I’ll do the clinic duty.”
The Aussie sounded absolutely sapped of energy, not up for witty banter today.
“While you’re down there, ask Cuddy if I can cut this kid’s head open!!”
He’d only been in the clinic for two hours before he started feeling hot and lightheaded. His hands and feet felt like lead and his vision was spotted. Next thing he knew, he was laying on a gurney, staring at Cuddy and House.
“Chase? Can you hear me?” Cuddy asked gently. “You fainted. You’ve got a fever of 103. I’m sending you home after some IV fluids.”
“Who had the bet on Chase being the weakest link on the team?”
Cuddy slapped his arm, “House! Go work on your case.”
---
Today he was at home, laid up in bed with a fever, pale and clammy. This had to be the worst he’d felt in a long time, especially since he was way more sneezy today. It’s like his nose got inflamed and sensitive overnight.
The grey T shirt clung to his skin as the blonde rubbed at his eyes with his forefinger and thumb.
“HTSCHiew! huh- ihh’TSZIEW!”
The blonde groaned and reached for a tissue off his nightstand as he propped himself up on an elbow. He was certain he had an upper respiratory tract infection. Despite being a doctor, he had a criminal lack of medicine in his apartment.
After a few chesty coughs, he finally peeled back the blankets and swung his legs over the edge of the bed, waiting for the dizzy spell to pass before standing up.
He switched his sweaty shirt for a clean one and slipped on a jacket to match his navy blue sweatpants. The thought of hauling himself to the store made him want to die. His head was throbbing, his sinuses ached, and he could barely talk.
He trudged to the kitchen to get a glass of water, stopping halfway to pinch some sneezes back.
“H’xTCH! Eh’xchu!! Snff N’xxT!! Guhhhhh”
A knock on the door was the last thing he wanted, but he sighed and answered it anyways. He locked eyes with Cameron before letting his eyes wander down to the small basket she was holding that was full of NyQuil, lozenges, and decongestant.
“You look awful.” She frowned at his general sickly appearance.
“Gee thanks. Aren’t you working today?” He snuggled into his jacket sleeve.
“Lunch break.” She shrugged, “I gotta run, but I heard about what happened in the clinic yesterday and I just… I know your apartment is barren so. I just brought this.”
She handed the basket of meds and other goodies to Chase before quickly planting a kiss on his cheek and stepping back out. “See you soon?”
He rubbed at the back of his neck with his free hand, “Yeah. Hoping to be back soon. This should help.”
He awkwardly held up the basket, smiling weakly before closing the door and sighing. Than god he didn’t have to leave the apartment.

"you're misunderstanding the soup that's in my brain."
"not really," he chuckles, gentle thumbs pressing up against her lower lids. apples of the cheeks, really. luka gives them a testing squish; though she's certain it doesn't mean much and there's no harm in it, marinette still can't stop herself from wincing. "you look exhausted, kitty."
"i am exhausted."
"having a hard day?"
"on a scale from one to ten, i think i'm at a critical nine."
"ah," he murmurs, still squishing her cheeks. "a niner. that is pretty rough. can you talk about it?"
of course, now that luka's heard the beginning of the problem, they'll need to see it through. one of the many reasons why she tries her best not to bring up things to luka is that he's a whirlwind when he catches on that she's having a problem. it's his nature to want to fix it— always wanting to sooth the wrinkle between her brows before it's a crying, miserable day— but it makes him so anxious to help that sometimes she feels worse.
but she can't stand her mind anymore. not on her own, at least.
"brain is soap," she whines.
"try, at least."
so she does. "i think i'm sick."
"i'm checking your sinuses right now, and they don't feel inflammed."
that's true. he's doing a lot of checking— lots of pressing of his thumbs against her cheeks; his fingers and palm absolutely dwarf her face when he touches it, slightly damp hands pressing up against her skin. from under her eyes, he follows down to her neck, just below the pivot of her jaw, checking the jowls. he checks for lumps and bumps on the lymph nodes, but luckily there's nothing there. she's being manhandled by two giant paws, thumbs against her glands.
it's relief, even for a little while, and she welcomes it with slow-blinking eyes in his direction. can he see how much she loves him?
"i just can't focus."
"that happens a lot."
"i think i've underestimated just how much i can't focus before," she tries. "luka, i'm serious, i can't even... finish."
"'finish'?"
"sentences," marinette blurts out. "thoughts. ideas. my brain feels like soap. there's mister clean in my brain— i could scrub at grout with this steel wool i've got for a brain. i tried reading. a lot."
tried.
is there more to that sentence? is there any more need for the rest?
to his credit, luka actually looks contemplative. "interesting. you might actually be sick, though it's hard to tell— you're swaying a lot, you can't keep your balance, and you're telling me you can't focus?"
"i've been like this the entire day," she mumbles.
"i think you might be having a full-system problem," he chuckles again. "let's sit you down. no more thinking. i don't mind going to bed early; come on."
the idea of cuddling might be nice after all. maybe she just needs to purr for a while until she feels better...?

anyways again sorry for like going on about shit when i literally haven't even seen a dr yet to get any knowledge of if I should be really concerned about the lump i found. but what is distressing personally is that i have gone to the dr before bcuz i found a lump, i found one on my underarm and was like oh god im dying aren't I? And I went to my pcp and she looked at it and was able to tell me like it was just like a cyst or an inflamed lymph node or smth. and the thing is, the lump I have found near my nipple is nothing like that lump or any cyst/absess/infection I've ever had so like. its hard not to just completely spiral.

Health update (10/20)
I am feeling good.
I mentioned that now I want to focus on allergies and stress management. I might book an appointment to see my allergist.
I know I put my body through a lot of stress from prolonged fasting. But I reduced my risk of developing metabolic disease by a lot. I had a lot of body dysmorphia last year and losing a lot of fat did help with my confidence.
Eating a healthy diet and drinking enough water, as well as taking digestive enzymes, helped a lot with my weight and bloating. I complained a lot about thick calves in the past, but my calf size is mostly due to excess fat. I lost a lot of fat, so keeping it off helps a lot. I've seen photos of myself in my teens where my calves varied in size, and that was due to fluctuating weight. My weight did fluctuate when I was a teen and I think I got heavier after spending a year in my college dorm and I overate (rez food + ordering). I tend to gain weight in my legs, butt, and calves which is why they appear bigger. I gain less weight in my stomach and arms and none in my chest and hardly any in my waist area (which is kind of good because visceral weight gain is more dangerous than subcutaneous weight gain).
I'm naturally gifted in the sense that I naturally have a good amount of muscle tone. I want to maintain that and that's one of the reasons why I have good ab definition (I'm not shredded but I don't have a skinny fat belly). I want to keep it up with the strength training - yoga and pilates mostly. So I can maintain this physique as I get older.
I know my skin is inflamed and I need to heal psychologically. But at least I improved my health in so many ways so far. I lost a lot of weight and am eating much healthier and got a mental health diagnosis. My mental wellbeing will take longer to address. I just want to tell myself it's okay to be sad and cry.
I got some rashes on my neck recently when I applied some protopic. It makes me itch and I don't want to use it. I am getting allergies in general and in random areas. Not eczema, but redness and some hives.
I did a lot for my health this year and I'm so happy. I just want to heal and open up psychologically, do more yoga/pilates, address my allergies, and gain some body confidence.
Allergy wise I've been getting random rashes, my face flared again, my eyelids became red, puffy, watery and itchy, I sneezed quite often and got congested and my neck lymph nodes are tender and sore. My right hand also developed some redness and hives. I don't know what it is, I'll figure it out.
