It's been a minute since I've made an update on my gaming. I'm still working on Bulwark and full time but I've been playing infernax on the side and let me tell you. I think I understand why castlevania open world is a bad idea.

I do love the classic whip-vanias but when. You toss in so much combat with layers of "where the fuck am I going" and Aceldor having only like 4 health it's a bit much and gets tedious.

The spells so far are kind of mediocre too. Like Yay a defense spell and a healing spell 🙄

Maybe I'll change my mind once I make more progress. For now it's a slow.

But in terms of style and music it nails it. It feels great to play and hear.

For Just Shapes & Beats' 5th anniversary, Lachhh (director and lead programmer of game) had something to say about it in his thread on twitter:

JS&B is turning 5 today! The year of pentagon! 5 years. Again, I can't believe the community is still there and active. Sharing art, stories, music. You guys are working hard and it's so beautiful to see. <3 Last year I had to go help finish [Infernax]'s latest COOP update, but I'm pleased to say I'm finally 100% back, working on more JS&B. Nothing else is on my plate. :) This 'project' I'm working on is a huge mountain to climb. One that petrified me, for years, before I could even take the first step. Like I said last year, The process of game development is a mess, I trash about 90% of the stuff I create. But that 10% pile, it's building up. Enough to get the team here excited, enough to get new artists to collab with us, enough to see how we can climb that mountain. Making a game is a marathon, it'll take a while before I can share stuff, but I'll make sure it's the best stuff I can create. Until then, I love you all, you guys are the best. Happy JS&B day! <3
