Star Wars. Obikin. This WIP was based on a "drunken confession" prompt. Post war's end.

"What're you looking at?" Anakin grumbled.

"You," Obi-Wan replied guilelessly.

Anakin scrunched one eye as he opened it, his brow furrowed.

"Why?" he grumbled.

"I'm just looking my fill now that we're mostly safe." He sighed. "Unless there's another Sith hiding in a clone factory somewhere."

"Urgh," Anakin said, sounding thoroughly disgusted. "Don't even joke."

"I know there's always dangers… That's the nature of what we've chosen to do…" Obi-Wan gazed off into the distance, but the hair on the back of his neck stood up as he realized that Anakin was staring at him. "What?"

"Does drinking make you maudlin or something? Yes, being a Jedi is dangerous. You're reminding me of the talk Qui-Gon gave me when he first picked me up."

At that reminder of how they'd come to be connected — his late master's penchant for picking up those who needed help most desperately — something raw broke open inside Obi-Wan.

"Listen, I'm trying to tell you something—" Obi-Wan desperately sucked down air, trying to not lose control but rapidly feeling there was nothing he could do, not about this, and certainly not about the unfeeling spiral and tilt of the galaxy. "I was never able to tell Qui-Gon just how much he mattered to me."

"Okay, hang on, I think I need to be sitting for this," Anakin said, sounding alarmingly awake.

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Very much so. In terms of words/expressions, I tend to do a lot of repetition of word or throw in synonyms of said word immediately after to really hammer home the vibe. I also tend to fall back into similar descriptions when it comes to emotions - lots of 'pulling' and 'dragging', stones sat in the gullet, etc. I try and not to get too wordy, but sometimes I can't help it.

In terms of formating - excessive uses of dashes and semicolons.

And as for themes, I write a lot of stories that involve mental and physical health issues, recovery, found family, disabilities, and purple prose PORN. And more obikin specifically: I have been told I tend to write them immediately obsessed with each other 😅

36. How do you write kissing scenes?

I imagine two ken dolls being smashed together.

But more seriously, I try and figure out what kind of mood we're going for first. Is it a first kiss between these characters? Is it a first kiss for one of the characters, period? Is it supposed to be calm and quiet, or obscene and desperate? How would a certain character kiss? Harsh and aggressive or slow and steady?

I just wrote a first kiss in another fic between Obi-Wan and Anakin, and in it Anakin was inexperienced and hadn't really kissed anybody. So he was a bit forceful, didn't know what to do with his hands or his tongue - all he knew was he really, really wanted to kiss Obi-Wan. But Obi-Wan has had plenty of experience, but was still a little hesitant himself because this wasn't just anyone he was kissing - this was Anakin. So he's trying not to overwhelm Anakin, while being totally overwhelmed himself about finally getting to kiss him after longing after him for years.

But other scenes I'm like "They've kissed a million times over, they're in the middle of some hanky-panky, and they're ready to burst so we're looking at something messy, sloppy, lots of heavy breathing, uncoordinated, etc."

ALSO (apparently I have a lot of feelings about this): what do the characters personally LIKE? Anakin seems like a very aggressive, desperate, messy sort of kisser, even if he's kissed Obi-Wan a billion times. But Obi-Wan likes to take it slow; make an event out of the build-up, sometimes just wanting to make out and that's it. So he's constantly slowing Anakin down, cupping his jaw, sometimes holding him down so he doesn't try and devour Obi-Wan.

65. Tell us about what you're most looking forward to writing - in your current project, or a future one?

I'm going to be starting a GFFA Alternate Timeline fic very shortly (after I write a few oneshots), and I'm really looking forward to writing something long-form in the GFFA universe. I am, however, dreading some of the research haha. But some very good friends of mine have offered me their help 🙏

There are a few scenes, but right now I'm most looking forward to writing a scene where Obi-Wan, running from the Empire with tiny Anakin, arrive in Mandalore to ask Satine for aid - to hide them or give them a place to stay for a bit, or whatever she can do. It's all very desperate and scary and world-building (I hope lol).

3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

Oooh this is a good one! Without a doubt angst and hurt/comfort. One of the things that I really enjoy while both reading and writing is curating tension. I also really enjoy reading darkfic/dead dove (and have a few of these I'm currently working on writing), because I really like to delve into deeper exploration of more taboo subjects and the discomfort surrounding them. I think it all leads back to an enjoyment of a deep exploration into the characters inner narrative.

BDSM/power exchange is another theme that shows up a lot. I've got a lot of real life experience with kink, and I really enjoy curating scenes that are both true to life and heavily respect proper consent and negotiation.

Finally, figurative language/imagery shows up a lot. Purely because I'm extra af and LOVE flowery writing. I'm definitely not the type of writer who gets to the point quickly... I could make my point in 1-2 sentences, but it's usually a paragraph. 😇😇😇

13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?

Overall, I don't think there are any tropes that I explicitly used to like and don't anymore! I totally go through phases of searching out certain tropes more than others, but if it's written well or by a favourite author/friend of mine, I'll absolutely read!

Though if I really think about it, kid fic may fall into this category for me, but it really depends on the fic itself. This used to be a trope I'd search for more often in the past, but has decreased over time. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the idea that one has to have children to be happy/have a happy relationship/succeed in life, so I tend to avoid fics with this narrative. This is not to say that I don't like kid fic (like... Obikin with kids is the cutest thing ever). It's just that I prefer to read fics with more... complex family dynamics. If you haven't already figured it out, I'm not the biggest fan of the idea of the nuclear family... give me a family with three parents, or a woman who's children are her three cats!!! 💖💖💖💖💖

my best fandom experience is definitely finding friends. i met my bestie through fandom, so that's pretty much the unbeatable #1 experience. (shoutout to @soldieronbarnes for sticking with me for ten years!! 💕)

ive only read the one novel tbh (rots novelization obvs) and that one is pretty amazing

i don't know if i would change anything about canon tbh 🤔 i mean obviously in my happy little bubble anakin doesn't fall but im fine with that just being a fandom exploration. because i don't think anakin (and obi-wan (and Luke and Leia) would be them) would be anakin without becoming vader. it's a part of him, it's the tragedy of him, and as painful as it is watching it every time, i wouldn't change it.

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?

Not that it was my intent starting out, but I think all of More Devils Than Shoulders so far is this and a sizable chunk of remaining plot before we get to the ending continues the trend 😅

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

Unironically, actually writing the damn thing down enough to edit it, and/or editing it to the minimum level of coherence that it can be posted and read. So that it doesn't follow me around haunting me like the spectres of every time I ever disappointed myself lmao

Once published, if one person says they liked it, I know all my hard work isn't in vain. If someone likes it enough to spread it (links, reblogs, recs etc) then I know I've really made something enjoyable.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

Moments that imply a fucktonne of history between two characters in a single image/moment/few sentences. Like in Love Is a Battlefield when Rebel!Obi-Wan says, "Back to back, like we practiced." THEY PRACTICED GOING OUT TOGETHER IN A LAST DESPERATE STAND. And later in the same chapter when it very briefly mentions he gave this version of Anakin the eye scar.

I drew them because I simply missed them. I love drawing Masters and Padawans, it's the best bond and what makes me attached to the Star Wars saga. So there you have it -- a little fluff and a day of merriment and lightheartedness for this duo. (Honestly, I also need happy drawings these days).

1. Are you named after anyone?

Nope!

2. When was the last time you cried?

Hmm 🤔 I'm not sure tbh, maybe last week? Two weeks ago? Less than a month most likely. Just felt bad about myself and had a good cry.

3. Do you have kids?

No kids, nor do I want any.

4. What sports do you play/ have you played?

Dance (contemporary and a bit of modern jazz) when I was a kid but I didn't learn much even though i started when i was 3 or 4 i think, and did maybe 8(?) years of it.

Circus for 9 years.

Taekwondo for 2 years (I think you're supposed to be a yellow belt after only two years but my teacher gave me the blue belt so 🤷 guess I'm a blue belt).

Self defense for 1 year.

And ski and snowboard since I grew up in the alps though I barely took any classes, mostly just with my parents.

(☝️ This is making me look super sporty even though I'm really not lol)

(+ all the sports I had to do in PE class in school. I really liked rock climbing, orienteering and step aerobics)

5. Do you use sarcasm?

All the time!

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Either clothes or hair I think? I'm not very observant or a good judge of character so it has to be something obvious.

7. What's your eye colour?

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings! I don't really like scary movies, though I love suspens and action that get you on the edge of your seat.

9. Any talents?

I have pretty fast reflex? Not sure that's a talent but I'm good at games where you have to catch something or put cards down faster than the other players. Actually I'm good at board games in general (unless I'm playing against my brother, he's way better that me).

10. Where were you born?

11. What are your hobbies?

Reading (I wish it was more books (it used to be) but honestly most of the time it's mostly fics), playing video games, sewing, knitting, crocheting, random arts and crafts that I'll drop a week later, watching movies and going to the cinema, astronomy (mostly just stargazing so far but one day I'll buy a telescope), playing board games, travelling (does it count as a hobby?), daydreaming about star wars characters...

12. Do you have any pets?

Sort of? I've always had cats at my mom's house but since I moved out it's mostly my mom's cat? But it's also mine and my sister's. Idk it's our cat.

(My mom also has a dog but that's her dog, not mine)

13. How tall are you?

169 cm (which is 5'6" or 5'7" i think)

14. Favourite subject in school?

Maths and Latin

(I was also very good at physics but I didn't love it for some reason, even though that was the most interesting)

15. Dream job?

Prop guy or costume maker in movies (not the designers, the people who actually make the stuff). Or somehow living off of making cosplay and stuff like that (through YouTube and Instagram I guess).

(I'm not actually trying to do any of that though, I don't think I have the skills to do it)

I’m sorry to say that I currently only have two WIPs. I wish I had more time to write!

Anakin vs cat isn’t the actual name of the fic, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. Obi-Wan becomes entrusted with the care of a cat. Anakin is jealous. Something something something smut happens. 😽

Prompt is also not the name of the second fic. It’s my prompt fill for one of the upcoming fests. I’ve never filled a prompt before so I’m rather nervous about it. 😬

There’s another one in my brain and I’ve made random notes about, but haven’t actually written anything so I’m not counting that as a WIP. I need to do a lot more thinking before it’ll come together.

3 a character that fandom has helped you appreciate.

There are so many characters that the SW fandom has helped me appreciate. I didn't know it very well when I first stumbled into this fandom so much of my love for its myriad of characters comes from the fic and fandom.

However, there are characters that I never thought I would come to appreciate, even idolize, that the fandom has taught me are important pieces and players. I can't stick to just one, though.

It may come as no surprise that Jedi Master Mace Windu is one of those characters I barely knew before, but who is now one of my favorites. Through reading numerous fic and Shatterpoint, as well as a fascination with rare pairs, my admiration and appreciation for this character has evolved until he now holds a special place in my heart. He is a BAMF and his blade is my favorite color, and also his character is interesting and challenging to work with.

Another one that I never thought I would ever appreciate is Sheev Palpatine, Darth Sidious himself. He's a fascinating villain, the near perfect evil, and the best player of the great game. As intimidating as he is, he also represents something special, and it's always challenging for me to overcome his character, he's so damn hard to kill convincingly.

Last but not least, a grumpy old man has snuck his way into my heart. Even with all his many mistakes and wrong choices, I've also learned that there's more to him than just a fallen Jedi Master turned Sith. He's part of the disaster lineage, perhaps its beginning, and they are all connected. Dooku was a character I never expected to appreciate.

5 something you see in fics a lot and love.

Um, love, in all its forms and facets. When it hurts, when it fixes everything, when it drives you crazy, when it heals, when it's dark and disturbed, when it's bright and light, and especially when it's inevitable. I can't help it but that's my biggest weakness, the story of love and so many fic tells it so incredibly well.

11 if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

I'm proud to have written any fic at all, it's still crazy to me that I actually have words out there that others have read and appreciated, it makes me so immensely proud. I'm proud of many of my fics, they all have something special to me, so picking one out of them is impossible, so sorry I won't choose.
