Glimpses of #Industrial_Visit

Where the industry and academics amalgamate is an industrial visit and students of 5th semester from SISTec Department of Mechanical Engineering visited Dainik Bhaskar Printing Press located at Govindpura Bhopal. A short overview of the whole process was introduced to the group of students by one of the trainers from the Bhaskar team. They saw the working of large scale printing machines which were producing 35000 to 50000 copies per hour.

At first layout of the news paper transferred on an aluminium sheet from computer using CTP machine, similarly four aluminium plates are then prepared for each of the two adjacent pages side-by-side according to the CMYK colour combination, then all the four plates are used to print a copy of two page. Then roll of specific dimension is get loaded to the system by a machine using a rail assembly. At the initial stage of the printing , the working staff check and recheck the vividness of the color combination and by calibrating the system accordingly. In this process of color correction over 1000 to 1500 papers get wasted. Afterwards the machine automatically stock and eject a certain amount of paper. This is how whole production process takes place.
