just saw an article where someone attempted to use “science” to “prove” that cats are emotional parasites that should be culled and I have never felt such a surge of anger outside of like. actual human rights violations.

CERES Environment Park and around Brunny. And I continue to completely misrepresent Melbourne because I’m a baby who only goes out to paint when the sun is out >:^)

what's your opinion on birds?
LOVE them. Adore them even. Watching the birds eat and chill in our backyard peacefully... well, I finally understand my grandparents. I especially appreciate it when the tiny ones wash themselves, weirdly enough, in the bits of sand. And there's now a nest of collared doves (I suspect at least) in one of our trees, since I see either one or both on either side of the fences in our yard. I love this dove the most because we call them lovebirds in our language, so to have them sit in our garden feels like a tiny blessing from nature!
I could go on and on... my birthname for example being a bird; how fascinating the predator birds are in flight; the freedom they represent while airborn. My best friend who unfortunately passed 10 years ago used to volunteer for animal rescue and she occasionally raised pigeons by hand. Tiny little ugly baby birds to adult. So now whenever I see pigeons, I carry her wherever I go.
Birds are magnificent! Chef's kiss to mother earth for their creation.

Parking lot encounter, unfortunately very backlit + through glass so my phone was struggling.
Coyote ears, 10/10, highly recommended.
(This is also a reminder to US residents, especially out west: please keep cats indoors! It's not the first time I've seen one in broad daylight in my city.)

Worst inaturalist experience is when you find a cute beetle on your desk or something and you're like ':)' and upload it and the computer vision is like 'this is the 'clothes eating beetle'' and you're like 'uh oh' then you click on it and it's like 'information: this beetle likes to live in your house and eat your carpet and clothes'

Sometimes I just need to cry a little about cats. Every single cat is so different with their own personality. I’ve known hundreds and hundreds of cats and each one is unique. Each one has their own likes and dislikes, habits, quirks, and little ways of interacting with people. Nature and nurture make each cat something completely special. How can the world be all bad when I get to live with five wonderful, small, soft individuals?
